Speaker 4 (01:42):
Thank you guys so much for having me. It's an
honor to be on. I'm excited to be here. I
know we have a lot of Pittsburgh Steeler fans.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
So yeah, you get to work, mam pantermos come come
n back on course and co Well, I haven't been

(02:15):
a rookie in so long.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
It's been it's been a while, but I would say
for me, when you first get into the game, the speed,
the amount of plays you're dealing with, there's just a
lot of information that's getting passed over because you know,
in college, you know it's it's still something you're working towards,
but it's almost like a hobby.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
This is your job. You're finding different ways to take
care of your body.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
But then the speed, and I just think the information
is just at an overload, and so you sometimes see
rookie players struggle with that. But now I just feel
like the game is slower than ever for me. You know,
I'm able to you know, find the you know, my
technique is a lot better than it was as a rookie.
You know, I'm able to uh see plays before they happen.

(03:04):
And I think that just benefits.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
You the more you play in the game, joy and say,
look questa person in a position case a touel partido
press nando placachees, gold piece comes the direction, came the rimos,

(03:30):
a condo service a case that's a person that's a.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Premier part Uh. I started off one hundred percent, but
I don't always ended one hundred percent. You look at
this game, especially my position, it's like you're in a
car wreck every player. Yeah, but you know, for me,
what I've tried to do, especially after coming off of

(04:00):
Sure where I was hurt, just getting back to the
weights as soon as possible, incorporating a lot of pilates
as well, just finding new ways to take care of
our body. Seeing the chiropractor, getting massages, you name it.
You know, you stay on top of it, getting the
cold tub. But you know it's it's not luck that
you know, I'm in my fourteenth year. It's about taking

(04:23):
care of your body, making sure you're ready to go
for those car wrecks.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Yeah, maybe maybe playing the trench is the most the
most difficult not to play in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
I think so, you know, I know the quarterbacks they
get protected and you know they don't want them getting
hit too bad. But when it comes to the trenches,
play you've got you know, sometimes one guy, sometimes two guys.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
You know, if you're not lucky, you get three.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
But you know, it's it's it's a it's a it's
a game of you know will and sometimes you just
got to you know, power through.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
It ruined Maximo to locate into the idea, but I still.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Extra tip for me. You're you're ahead of the game
with you know, the crime of therapy. I used to
do that all the time. A lot of contrasting hot
and cold. Uh, just a lot of massages these days,
you know, trying to work out the thing I think,
you know, me understanding. Especially during practice, I get a

(05:50):
lot of the metal reps. Now I don't get as
many as the physical reps I want during the week.
But you know it's me, you know, getting extra stretches.
You know, it's a multitude of things. Mostly it's just
not me eating a bunch of junk foods, you know,
sitting on the couch. But I ain't getting played in
a sleep and I always think sleep is the best

(06:10):
way to.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Recovery and a.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Paradis.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
You know, I think keys are very important because, uh,
you know, you get all these different offenses nowadays. You know,
sometimes I'm looking at how many running backs, how many
wide receivers they have in the game, to how many
tight ends. But then I'm also breaking it down by
you know, how far the tackle is with his alignment,
whether he's got a square stands for more of a

(06:57):
run down, or he's got his foot all the way
that act for a pass, how close he is to
the guard, because that could sit the signal that there's
a double team happening. Is the guard leaning either way
to show that he's trying to pull or reach me,
you know, and then if you get really creative, you
can sometimes see when the quarterbacks under center, he's showing

(07:20):
his hands and so he's asked for the ball then.
So you know, there there's a multitude of things you
look at throughout the game.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
You know, you could try.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
To tell a young guy that early on and be like,
I don't understand any of it.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
But you know, over the year, wowl beaton al In
Craven to Mayoloro and and well.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
I would definitely say to this point, I think it's
the most important word I've ever received. Walter Payton was
not just a great football player, but a great man.
He does a lot for his community and giving back.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
And you know I do a lot of giving back
in my community, whether it's given suits to young men
for college interviews, job interviews, problem but also you know,
dealing with food and security in our city, you know,
getting kids ready for school. There's a lot of things
we do throughout both Pittsburgh and Atlanta. But you know

(08:40):
it doesn't happen with just me. So I have good teammates,
great friends and family that come along for the ride
that have supported me, attended our events. Uh, and just
made a difference in our community. You know, the award
means a lot to me, but I think the work
we do, uh speaks for itself.

Speaker 6 (08:59):
And then and the Brins Harry was there right right.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Yeah, that that was you get floored by the moment
of just being honored for the Man of the Year award.
And then Prince Harry's there and I'm like, first when
I was like, Prince Harry, ain't you about to call
my name? So, you know, got a chance to meet him.
What a wonderful guy. And you know, he seemed just

(09:22):
as excited as I as I was. So just appreciative
that of that moment.

Speaker 6 (09:32):
