(00:00):
If you missed the show this morning, this is what you missed. A
grocery store mistake that I made haswreaked havoc in my home. Well that
may be slightly over dramatized, butpick up a boyfriend. It's well not
that much drama. Okay, it'sMike and Diane on ninety five point one
WayV. Now. I don't knowhow I missed this. I must have
(00:22):
been tired because I always get thesame type of paper towels, and I
know in the scheme of life, paper towels isn't the most important thing,
but to us it is. SoI always get selecticized bounty because my husband
is a paper towl snob. Hewants bounty. Got it. But instead
of the selecticize guess what I got? What? Full size sheets? Couka.
(00:45):
So I didn't realize this. Weput the new roll out and my
husband says, uh he tries togo rip like halfway. He's like,
uh wait a minute, these arefull size sheets. Yeah, like what
I have never done this before. It just I felt there was a lot
of confusion going on. I canI'm not reference, so I can relate
(01:06):
to that very vividly to buying somethingby accident, like right now, as
you could probably tell, in thelast twenty minutes, I've been very busy
because I was buying flights for abachelor party, my last one ever.
Oh, for some reason, thewebsite I was on, I said it
the Thursday to Sunday, and Ibooked my Thursday flight in it booked me
(01:27):
a Saturday flight oh at seven am. So I'm missing the whole thing.
Basically, I'm flying out that turnright around basically. And so, yeah,
I've been spending the last twenty minutesor so fighting with h do I
want to say? Yeah Frontier, trying to say this was seven minutes ago.
Can we please just do it?Can we do it? Can we
(01:49):
have a redo? Please? There'sliterally a lot that says you have to
I don't feel so bad about mypaper towns now. Your paper towers are
cool. Your paper towels are allcool, even though we're like ripping them
half because we don't want to waste. We're not cheap, but it just
feels like wasteful that we don't evenneed a full paper towel. But anyway,
yeah, your mistake definitely bigger.Sorry Mike ye ye So what grocery
(02:12):
store or other oops. When itcomes to shopping, did you make recently?
You can talk back on the freeiHeartRadio app, leave us a message
by tapping that red microphone, orgive us a call. Your shopping oops
were Mike and Diane on ninety fivepoint one Way V. I bought the
wrong paper towels. Mike bought thewrong flight. We're making progress in the
last three minutes. Oh good, okay, good to here. I'm not
(02:36):
making progress with my paper towels though. Let's check in with Erica from Galloway.
Erica, what was your shopping oops? Oh my gosh, so okay.
Usually we buy Sharman toilet paper, but this time my husband decided to
go out and get the Finnis cheapest, like you know, like sand paper
(02:57):
toilet paper. I get it.That's that's frustrating. Are you sure he
didn't pick it up here at ouroffice? Stop by and take some rolls,
I say, hope, I understandit was. That was thirty eight
cents cheaper. Come on, we'reall saving. Sometimes you got to spend
a little more. Oh come yeah, seriously, I mean like prisoners would
(03:20):
probably have better total paper than this, you know, what he's doing.
Right, You understand what he's doing? Right? What what is he doing
so poorly? You do it nexttime? Oh, let her do the
shopping. Oh okay, well youknow what, not that I've ever done
it, but it is nice whenI don't go shopping. Yeah, but
(03:40):
baby, Erica, you may haveto take over because this is not acceptable.
No. I mean I just wentout and bought myself a pack of
Sharman and he can use that otherstuff. Yes, I love your style.
All right, thanks Erica, You'rewelcome. Ninety five point one WayV
(04:02):
with the Mike and Diane Show.We are talking Pringles Pringles in a bag.
Nope, hate it. They're poppingout of the can and then into
the bag with its first ever puffedsnack new Pringles Mingles. This is big
news for Pringles. Nope, Idon't want to hear anything about it.
(04:24):
Oh well, I'm going to tellyou anyway. Yeah. I know you
are because this is what you do. But I don't care because if it's
not popping the can like their promo, if you change what your entire promotion
has been my entire life, Ihate it, Oh man, that there
is something about that can popping thecan. It's something different. It's what
made you stand out in the aisle. Yeah, you know when I usually
(04:44):
have Pringles, not these new onesthat pop in the can is on flights.
When I'm on an airplane. Forsome reason, that's my airplane snack.
I equate that with travel, andI always stock up because otherwise I'm
going to pay like ten bucks onthe airplane. Yeah. So anyway,
the there's new Pringles mingles in caseyou want to try. The mic is
protesting, but just in case. They are new puffed snacks featuring a crispy
(05:06):
exterior with a light airy interior ina distinctive bow tie shape that's inspired by
mister P Pringle's iconic mascot. Ididn't even know that you called it,
mister P. The new Pringles minglescome in the three flavors chatdar and sour
cream, and then we've got themingles and sharp white cheddar and ranch.
Then we've got the dill pickle andranch mingles. Any of those striking you?
(05:31):
No? Is it a bag?I don't want it. No Pringles
and a bag. This may besomething that you take a stance on.
This is Yeah, some people takeimportant stances. This is mine. We
don't like to talk politics, sothis might be yours. No, Well,
they're scheduled to hit stores in October, but you can stay updated on
their release by following Pringles on socialmedia. Yeah, if you have some
(05:57):
extra time, just follow Pringles. Why not? If you want to run
for president or mayor or town council. And if you mentioned you're gonna stop
Pringles, I'll vote for you.You know what, I'll second that.
That's it. Let's save the Pringles. I might look into the rest of
your politics first, but for now, that's what the leadings. That's going
to be the leading cost. Iwon't even do that. I'll just talk
Inpringles anyway. If you want totry them, check it out in October.
(06:20):
But we'll stick with our Pringles cans. Thank you. Today we celebrate
an activity that I have never experiencedpersonally. It's Mike and Diane on ninety
five point one WayV. It isJune sixth, which happens to be National
drive in Movie Day. Never goneto a drive in movie really ever ever,
(06:41):
and I want to. I've thoughtI love drive in movie theater so
much. We've been a few times. Only I wouldn't say a lot a
few times because you know, there'snot really many in the area. I've
thought for a long time, youknow how I always come up with kakamamie
business ideas. Yeah, that's oneof them. Is to get some land,
get a giant screen and like almostlike festival movie, festival drive in
(07:05):
movie. It is so much funto just pull up like an suv,
pop the back trunk, or geta get a truck and like a inflatable
couch, put it in the backof the truck, and it is It's
a great experience and I wish morepeople would would do it, like I
(07:26):
wish there was more in the areabecause it is very, very, very
fun, especially as the sun's goingdown. The usually at least the ones
we went to, there was likethree movies, so you have it's not
like you just show up for theone movie. It's an experience. It's
a night. You know, you'renot just going for the movie. You're
going there for the as the asthe sun is going down, there's usually
a kid's movie playing, and thenas the night goes on, the movies
(07:49):
get a little You're you're going youknow what movies are playing you're choosing to
go there. Of course, ifI can get popcorn, I'm fine.
Yeah, when we went there,I think the Dark Night was the movie
Saw, which had already been outfor a while, but we just went
to go see it for the experience. And again, someone investor, I'm
willing to do this with you.Do we go again? I don't have
(08:11):
money. Hypothetical. I don't likeit would take a lot of money.
Yeah, well, I mean it'sthe land, it's the screen, it's
the insurance, the the licensing, advertising, The licensing of the movie is
actually pretty expensive. I can imagine. I don't think you could just buy
a DVD. You make your moneyon the concessions. I'm pretty sure you're
not allowed to just plug in afirestick. I don't think so. No,
(08:33):
you can just maybe in your backyard. That's what I did. That's
about it. I did. Iforgot, I did it. I bought
it. I bought a projector justbecause we love watching movies outside. We
love watching TV outside. Everybody loveseverybody loves the TV outside. There you
go, Well, that's kind ofyou know, until you get to the
drive in movie. That'll work. But I'm just wondering where there are drive
(08:54):
in movies. I believe there's onein Vineland. My hobby and I were
looking into it before we got ourdog. So now I guess we could
just bring her in the car withus to the driving movie. She'll just
snuggle up this. Yeah, I'lltry to eat our popcorn and all that.
But I think there is one.But you can also Oh, okay,
good good, And if you knowof any other ones, please let
us know. Or if you lovea drive in movie, what's the last
(09:16):
movie? You can leave us amessage on talkback on the free iHeartRadio app.
Just tap that red microphone when you'reon wayv's page and you can let
us know because we might be missingout on some other locations that they have
drive in movies. But time tocelebrate. Check it out if you could
go to one over the weekend,it is National Drive in Movie Day.
(09:37):
Mike and Diane's second date update onninety five point one WayV Erica from Katee
May Courthouse is looking for a seconddate update with a guy named Dennis Erica.
How you doing good? I'm good, how are you doing well?
Thank you? Just curious about yourdate, so please tell us about Dennis
and your first date. It wasgreat, good vibe. You seemed like
(10:01):
a really nice guy. It's theregular, normal first date. Nothing crazy.
I mean, we didn't have akiss at the end, but that's
okay, you know, respectful, right, Yeah, just getting to know
each other. I liked that yousaid it was good vibes. Yeah,
but you're obviously you're calling us,so you must not have heard back from
(10:22):
Dennis. Yeah. I haven't heardanything. I'm no response to texts,
phone calls like pay what's going onhere? Oh? So frustrating. All
right, we are swooping in likesuperheroes. Second date update superheroes to help
you. What we're gonna do,Erica, is put you on whole play
a song, and try to getDennis on the phone. Next on ninety
(10:45):
five point one WayV. Ninety fivepoint one WayV. It's Mike and Diane's
second date update. A few minutesago, Erica told us about her first
date with Dennis. Just a normalfirst date, good vibes, and you
enjoyed yourself. Erica. Yeah, that's a great time. But unfortunately Erica
(11:05):
has heard nothing back from Dennis. So let's get right to it. I
waste time try to get Dennis onthe phone at least get some answers.
Here we go, Hello, Hi, is this Dennis? Yes, this
is he Hi Dennis. It's radiopeople calling Mike and Diane from ninety five
(11:26):
point one. W A YV.I'm Diane. There's Mike. How's it
going? Okay? I know alittle strange. What what do I owe?
The pleasure too? Glad you saidpleasure. We got a call from
one of our radio family members bythe name of Erica, and Erica was
(11:48):
telling us she went on a datewith you. You were oh good,
that's the first step. She justdoesn't know why you're not getting back in
touch with her. She said shereally enjoyed the date, had some good
vibes, and just hasn't heard anythingso on her behalf. So she's not
hanging. Could you give us someanswers please? Yeah. Well, we
had a good day, we hada good time. It was a good
(12:09):
place we ate and was sitting atthe restaurant and she gets up and says,
oh, I have to go tothe bathroom for a few minutes.
She was gone for like twenty totwenty five minutes, sitting there, and
she comes back and she says,I just I just had to pump because
(12:33):
I have a six month old.Oh, I had no idea. She
didn't tell me on the hinge profile. She didn't. Do you know that
none of the kids stuff ever cameup until I had to sit there and
wait for her to pump. AndI don't know. I just thought it
was awkward to have to tell herthat that was the reason, and that's
(12:54):
why I didn't get back to her. I guess that could be awkward,
and especially not knowing that she didn't. You had no idea that she is
six month old. I like thatyou just sat there for twenty five minutes,
like, why is she gone?Where is yeah? Upset stuff?
Perhaps? Yeah, well that isthat is what I thought. Maybe something
happened with the food. I wantedto be respectful and patient. You know.
(13:18):
Yeah, I'm not a monster.Okay, I don't know why you
said it like that, but okay, I can see where that would be
a shock. I'm putting myself inyour shoes and that would be a shock
to not know. But let's checkin with the source because we have to
let you know Dennis that Erica hasbeen listening in Erica, did you think
that might have been an important partwhen you're getting to know each other before
(13:41):
the first date, to let himknow I wow, I thought I did.
I guess. I'm sorry. Imeant I guess Erica is here.
Yes she is. She's been listeningin. Yeah, okay, great,
I should have known. Yeah,we're not. We never promised that.
Not normal people. Yeah, soyou kind of just forgot to tell him.
(14:03):
To me, that is probably numberone thing. It seems important to
me. Well, you know,I got the baby brain saying going on,
so I'm pretty forgetful these days. But yeah, but even so,
like, I mean, what amI supposed to do? This is what
it is. Yeah, yeah,I get your side of it. You're
(14:26):
not having a baby doesn't mean thatyou're locked in your house and you can't
meet somebody. Of course, maybelead with it, I think, maybe
not I'm leading with it. Butlike, if you're going to leave a
table for twenty five minutes, Iunderstand my wife used to have to pump
in the school closet, like Iget it, but she also had to
(14:48):
announce like, hey, I willbe gone for twenty minutes, right,
maybe just let the guy know Idon't he would be worried, get worried
about it, especially if you're goingto just tell him on the other end
of it, you know what I'msaying, Like, I almost get it
more if you didn't tell him.I don't know. I'm so back and
forth right now, because you shouldn'tbe locked in your house. You should
(15:09):
be able to meet somebody. Butyou probably should have told him prior to
the day. Yeah, that thatis something important. I think I think
we're forgetting the elephant on the airwaveshere. There's a baby, a six
month baby, and Erica. Unlessthere was some sort of immaculate conception,
that means that there's probably another dudein the picture somewhere, And not to
(15:37):
mention, a baby takes up alot of your attention and a lot of
your time. And I'm trying tomeet somebody. I'm not trying to Oh
god, see this is why Ididn't call back. I don't want to
sound like a jerk. Yeah, but like I want somebody, I want
(15:58):
your time, you know, atleast at least now, maybe someday down
the road. I want to starta family with somebody. But yeah,
you know what's you know what's bad. You know what I totally get what
he's saying, because what he saidsounded bad. But we have to remember
he's not met the baby. Theywent on one date. Like, I
understand what he's saying, right,it just doesn't sound good coming out.
(16:19):
He didn't even know she had ababy. Maybe you would have been okay
if she was upfront about it.I think I think that's the part that
hurts. Yeah, well, theword I thought, I told you,
I don't know, what do youwant me to do? I mean,
that's my private life. I'm notgoing to explain everything on our first date.
Well, to be fair, ifyou're going on a date, you're
kind of letting them into your privatelife. Yeah, that is true.
(16:41):
Well, I have to ask thequestion. I feel I know how this
is going to go. But Erica, since you called us, would you
want a second date with Dennis? It would be on us and maybe you
could bring the baby next time.I mean, now, I don't No,
it doesn't sound like he's going tobe cool with it, and like,
(17:03):
you know, my baby's obviously goingto come first or a stranger,
right right, Dennis, what wouldyou what would you say? He said?
Yeah? Yeah, I just Idon't think that was the answer.
The lie, I mean, thelack of honesty, the dishonesty by omission
is a bit of a red flagfor me. Uh you know, I
(17:26):
think in the future you might wantto tell people your situation. I feel
like it's almost akin to like apronoun or gender, Like you don't want
you don't want somebody to find outthat that that they got different stuff going
on down there. Oh well, how do we get to that? God,
we didn't just make a left wedid, alright, three sixty All
(17:48):
right, Dennis, let's see thatas a no, thank you so much.
Yeah, all right, well,we wish you both the best of
lock in and give that little babya hug for must Eric. Unfortunately,
this is a pump and dump.Okay, we gotta go. All right,
(18:08):
it's wedding season, and is thisstill a thing? It's Mike and
Diane on ninety five point one WayVon Facebook, a bride to be who
is in her forties, hosted countingdown the days to our wedding, and
it occurs to me, I haveno idea if we're still doing something old,
something new, something borrowed, somethingblue. Is this still a thing?
(18:33):
So I'm thinking that we can helpher out. If she's listening to
the radio, go to the freeiHeartRadio app, open Wayv's page, tap
that red microphone and you can leaveus a message so we can help out
this bride to be. Is ita thing though, once again, something
old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Did your wife have
that? Yes? I know, but I know that her her belt has
(18:56):
been borrowed by three or four ofour friends. For the borrow belt the
belt she all right, ladies, chill out. It's probably not a belt.
But you know what I'm talking about, the thing that gets tied around
like it's a belt. What dowe call that belt? The garter belt,
(19:17):
the little the garter belt. No, that was not that has not
been passed through. That is abelt, the little ribbon kind of that
goes waist around the waist the waista little bit. Oh, that's nice.
That has been borrowed a ton oftimes. Well, if it's borrowed
so many times, we may needto put that in the category of something
old. Eventually, at this pointwe are old. So it is it
(19:38):
is. Oh, that's going tobe a disappointing moment when that belt goes
from no longer the borrow and itfalls into the old old category. Die
that sucker blue and you got almosteverything covered. Yeah great, I'm so
happy. Let them know. Hey, you know me. If it makes
you happy, fine, If youdon't want to do it personal preference.
(19:59):
I have no problem either way.So leave us that message that we were
talking about, or give us acall. Is that still a thing?
Something old, something new, somethingborrowed, something blue, Mike and Diane
on ninety five point one WayV.Rachel from Brigantine? Is it still a
thing? Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue When it
comes to weddings, I don't thinkit really is a thing anymore. But
(20:23):
I think it's nice if you wantto add some sort of like small blue
accent, like I wore blue shoes. But I don't think it's the thing
anymore. So I think if shelikes the color blue, she should wear
it. But if she doesn't,she's nap do Okay I makes sense.
I kind of disagree. I mean, I'm not actively involved in weddings,
are you? Are you a brideMike, I'm abroad, but everybody,
(20:47):
I mean, I'm not actively involvedwhen somebody's getting married I'm not actively like
in the conversation, like tell meabout your wedding with the bride. You
know. I asked the groom andhe's like, ah, I have to
be there at six o'clock. Yeah, let me ask the wifey to be
well. When I overhear my wifehave the conversation, I always do hear
you know, what are you borrowing? Or what is what is blue?
(21:10):
Yeah? Like, I think that'sstill a thing, but it's not as
talked about a thing that could beI get. I think it just varies
from personal person. Obviously it's apersonal thing. Maybe it's not as strict
that brides would go crazy on theirwedding day that Oh my god, I
think it's something borrow. But Ilove the blue shoes. I think that's
a nice touch. That's a reallypretty touch too to the wedding. But
(21:33):
maybe there's less stress. Maybe that'swhat we're trying to say, Rachel,
A little less stress about following throughon a checklist. I mean, this
is a lot less stressful than itused to be. Yeah, this is
coming from a woman who got marriedduring COVID in her living room right here,
But yeah, less stress, allright, Rachel? Thank yous gotta
(21:55):
be honest with you, Diane,I am gonna call BS something. Oh,
I'm gonna call BS. It's ninetyfive point one WayV. It's the
Mike and Diane Show, and it'stime for I've just been handed an urgent
and horrifying news story, and Ineed all of you to stop what you're
doing and listen. No, I'mcalling BS on this woman in the UK
(22:22):
who says she has a rare sleepingdisorder that while she's unconscious and sleeping,
she does some high steaks shopping sprees, thirty eight hundred dollars in the middle
of the night purchases. All right, now I'm reading some of this.
We can make a decision. Allright, go ahead, full basketball court,
who cans of paint, playground equipment, and hundreds of Harabo Horrabo Harbo
(22:49):
horribo candies. Sorry it took mea gummy bears. Yeah, yeah,
she is married and I'm just gonnabe honest with you. Sounds like an
excuse. Yeah, my girl justwant to do some shopping. It sounds
like No, I can't believe thebasketball court just showed up. Sounds like
stuff she might want, especially thegummy bears. I would buy that.
(23:11):
I don't imagine what would be moreshocking when a basketball court shows up,
or ten thousand gummy bears, probablyin my house of the basketball court,
since I don't play. My husbandwould say, oh yeah, ten thousand
gummy bears. Okay, I'll callit. But guess what. My sister
blames her Amazon shopping late night shoppingon just being tired. Literally what she
(23:37):
also said, Yeah, but she'stired. Sounds like this woman is spending
way more money, though, becausemy sister had a new pair of Birkenstocks
on really cute the other day,and she said, oh, I barely
remember. It's like my late nightout of at Amazon shopping, but I
really like them. So she atleast my sister's getting some good stuff she
needs exactly, but who knows, maybe she needs the stuff. Maybe that
(23:59):
is an excuse I make poor financialdecisions. So the first three days after
we get paid, woh baby, watch out. Oh blame Maddy's spending.
Blame it on being tired. Thenext ten days, oh well, yeah,
I blame everything. I'm being tired. You get up early. It's
funny. I blamed two different thingsalready this morning. Unrelated to spending money.
Just blamed it on being I'm justway too tired right now. Yes,
(24:22):
makes and my wife has the sameresponse every time we have two kids.
It's the flavor of this, It'sthe flavor of life right now.
Suck it up. Good advice. No, it's not good all right.
Real estate can be cut throat.Where Mike and Diane on ninety five point
one WayV. A man accidentally boughta property not realizing it's completely underwater.
(24:48):
What now? The realtor is defendingher listing though she had missed the wording
was quote a little misleading. Seewhat you think? A guy in the
San Francisco Bay area bought it himself, a four hundred thousand dollars residential property
at auction without seeing it first, the sight unseen. They call this not
a good idea, although we seethat on some of the shows. Remember
(25:11):
with Taric and Christina with Flip orFlop, they would buy things sight unseen.
Yeah then I divorced, Yes theydid. Oops. It turns out
this property is literally underwater. Therealtor tried to spin it as an investor's
opportunity because it's in a prime location. You're shopping in the airport, but
even she admits it was kind ofmisleading as a one family residential spot.
(25:33):
The man was planning to fix itup and flip it until he realized that
it's underwater. It's been worn byarchitects that the building, that building,
anything on this submerged lot would costa lot of money. Wait, so
you're telling me that the real estateagent was not truthful in the her descriptions.
That's great, No way, notthe realtors. Well, I got
(25:55):
to say the old lesson comes intoplay. If it's too good to be
true, it probably is. Inthe San Francisco Bay area, it is
the most expensive real estate in thecountry, and if you see anything for
four hundred thousand, you may wantto check it out first because you're not
going to get anything for that price. Nope. So sorry to this guy,
but it looks like he's stuck withthis underwater property. We'll see what
(26:18):
happens. Yeah, the realtor gother check though, yes she did.
