Yeah, no wonder I smelled that. That's right. If
you're a cigar newbie, fret not. We got you
covered. In Cigar 101 episode I will Only.

will be discussing these and rating them with our
sip suds and smokes ratings one through five, plus
our signature sounds. Here's a sample. All right,

(04:07):
so let's get in here and talk about imami cigars.

>> (04:09):
3.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (04:10):
So, umami cigars is a newer cigar brand that we
ran into at PCA.

>> (04:14):
2025 and the premium Cigar association trade show.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (04:20):
Okay. The Premium Cigar association trade show in
New Orleans this year.

>> (04:25):
Y' all ain't from around here, are, Ah, you.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (04:27):
No. No, we're not.

>> (04:29):
You got a pretty mouth.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (04:30):
Armin. Uh, Amin is his name. Not Armin. I don't
know why I put an R in there. That's what Amin has
been an entrepreneur with a deep passion for
cigars. His is he began his cigar journey back in
the early 2000s. After long years of experiment
experience, he decided to go all in with his own
cigar brand. Now with his team, this factory in

(04:51):
Estelle, Nicaragua, make it some of the most
premium quality cigars in the industry. Armin
says, we dedicated our brand to bringing a variety
of premium cigars for quality for anyone, for
anyone's palates with 16 different cigars and
adding 12 more to the lineup by 2025.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Now I see why you put an R in there.

(05:13):
Yeah, I did.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: It's on the script. Don't read anything.
I will read anything.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Let's put it in front of it. Good job today, guys.
Good job.
Put it on the teleprompter, guys. I'll read it, I
promise you. Um, but we're going to get started
with the Cyrus King of Kings, Connecticut Grand

(05:35):
Toro cigar. Benjamin, why don't you tell us a
little bit about that?
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Pull us out of the ditch, Benny.
Good luck.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (05:41):
I got my winch. The Cyrus King of Kings,
Connecticut, uh, Grand Toro. It's a, uh, six and a
quarter by 54. Grand Toro.

>> (05:52):
Are you talking about Girthy?

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (05:54):
They were going to be demonstrating how to measure
girth.

>> (05:56):
Girth is a very important measurement when
determining Sizes first.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (06:00):
Take your tape measure, place it at.

>> (06:02):
The center of the shoulder, bring it down through
the crotch, and back up again.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (06:08):
Oh, and so how many square foot is that, Margaret?

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (06:13):
I don't know.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Is that how you. Is that how you measure footage?
I don't want to talk about it.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (06:20):
Uh, so the filler on this, uh, Cyrus King of
Kings, Connecticut is Balato, Uh, Estelle Habano.
The binders, uh, Carajo Desolorado. And the rapper
is Connecticut Des Florado from Ecuador, Pilon.
Uh, so this one's a, ah, really nice Connecticut.

(06:41):
Uh, I think that, um, my favorite thing about this
Connecticut. It was a first, uh, of the day, ah,
coffee experience for me, which is always
appreciated. Um, the, you know, a little bit of
subtle spice ran, uh, through this thing. But I,

(07:02):
um, think this is a spot on, um, for maybe like,
the heavier cigar smokers, Connecticut.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (07:11):
Right.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (07:11):
Because it's like a. A medium to mild.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (07:15):
Right.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (07:16):
So it's got some cool body to it. Um, and, you
know, great way to start your day.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (07:21):
Yeah.

>> (07:22):
You know, I guess the thing that I was, you know,
kind of hopping in is thinking that, well, this is
a Cuban. This is Habano style, you know,
Connecticut. And it's like, okay, so, I mean, what
were they aiming for, you know, that really kind
of aligns with that La Gloria, you know, really
kind of comes to mind. Um, uh, you know, but I

(07:44):
just. I don't really think of, you know, a lot of
Connecticuts that are on the market today are
really cut in that, you know, Cubano style.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (07:55):
Punchy, punchy, medium body.

>> (07:57):
They don't have that much spice forward. Usually
when they come around, they're. They're like
puffy, you know, marshmallow stuffed with vanilla
and a lot of other. I mean, it's great things, you
know, But I'm just saying that, uh, your brain
says one thing, and this cigar is something that
is not like the others.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (08:16):
I actually shy away from Connecticut most of the
time. Um, there's been very few recently that, you
know, good broadleafs that I really enjoy. And
actually this. I enjoyed this Connecticut.

>> (08:30):
Yeah. I think it was the novelty, you know, that I
think probably was definitely getting to me of
going. My brain is wired one way, but I really
like the cigar, which is not what, you know, I
think if you were just to say Habana style,
Connecticut, I don't know that everybody, at least

(08:50):
in the US Market, would be lined up to say, oh, I
know exactly what you're in it for. They're gonna
think Davidoff, all Day long, you know. Um, and so
I think that's, I think actually is a good thing
is to kind of catch people off guard from the
connection of the description of the product to
actually, you know what it was.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (09:10):
So. Well, what do you think, Rich?
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Um, this one didn't hit it for me. I just wasn't.
Yeah, I just didn't, I didn't really. I wasn't
feeling it. I don't know.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (09:21):
Enough out of you.

>> (09:22):
Yeah, that's all right.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (09:25):
It's okay. Yeah.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Gotta be a contrarian. Gotta say what's opposite
everybody else.
I love her. I love it. It's good.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I mean, it was okay. I just wasn't. It wasn't.
Um, but that just shows taste. Subjective.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Taste is subjective. I do. I mean, no, I'm not a
big, um, you know, Connecticut. You know, I don't,
I don't reach for Connecticut all the time.

>> (09:45):
You don't walk into a shop and go, I like a Cuban
style Connecticut man. Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (09:51):
Yeah.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: So. But, um, it's over there in the Davidoff.
That's right.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Well, yeah, right. Everything's in the Davidoff in
certain places.

>> (09:59):
Because it's the whole freaking wall.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:01):
Yeah, they have a huge wall. But anyway, enough
about Davidoff.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah, no, but it was, you know, it was okay. I
wasn't really. It didn't really like, um, bring
out anything that I thought was definitely
interesting.
Well, what are we going, what are we going to give
this one, guys? Uh, we're going to give it a four.

>> (10:20):
Wow.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:21):
Yeah. And like we say all the time here, folks,
magnificent taste is subjective. And I always miss
that cue. Taste is subjective. But listen, don't
go try these things. What are you gonna say?

>> (10:37):
I had a few more things that I really love. The
burn line and the draw on this. It was really,
really good.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:42):
Ding, ding. So that is one thing that we're gonna
talk about after the break and that was really at
the forefront of this entire freaking line.

>> (10:52):
Yeah, uh, that was just so good.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (10:55):
We'll be right back, folks. And welcome back to
Sip Suds and Smokes, our smoke segments. We are
going over Imami cigars and let us just jump right
into this. Mike hit the nail on the head over here
right before the break about construction. I,

(11:17):
construction wise, have absolutely nothing to say
about this brand.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (11:23):
These things are bulletproof.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (11:25):
I'm telling you. Every cigar that I smoked had a
perfect burn line. The ash held and consistent all
the way through.

>> (11:37):
Yeah, I, that is very true.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (11:39):
He must be a wizard.

>> (11:40):
There was, there was one cigar ahead that you
know, was a little. A little off from that. From
their own high mark, you know, and so I think that
that was, you know, part of the. Is they were a
victim of their own success.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (11:56):
Sure.

>> (11:56):
You know, it was. It was almost every single
stick, you know, that I picked up. It just. It
felt great in the hand. I. I always found the burn
lines to just be, you know, incredibly consistent.
I don't think I've. If I say the word canoe at all
today, I would be incredibly shocked because I
didn't.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: You'd be talking about the Harpeth River, Right.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (12:15):
You was rowing. Rowing your other boat on the last
episode.

>> (12:18):
Yeah, yeah.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: No, I. I would agree that con. The construction
was great, Burn was great, Ash was great. You
know, so, yeah, more to come.
I mean, instead of saying that for, you know, five
or six sticks a day.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (12:30):
Yeah. Let's just blanket that out there.

>> (12:32):
I would just absolutely say that, you know, if. If
those things to you, and they're very irritating
to me.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (12:38):
100. Nobody wants to work on a cigar that they
have to pay $20.

>> (12:42):
Absolutely. Um, you know who was serving who here?

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (12:45):
Right.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (12:45):
I actually found myself, you know, like, out on
the back porch smoking through this line, and I
would set it down to go do something else. Run in
the house, refill a drink, whatever.

>> (12:56):
Exactly.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (12:56):
And almost. Almost kind of like, forget about it.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (12:59):
Right.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (12:59):
You're just, you know.

>> (13:02):
I know.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (13:03):
And, and just. And just right back to smoking. Uh,
yeah.

>> (13:06):
I was like, I, I. Where's this been my whole life?
Yes. I was like, this is the way it's supposed to
be.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (13:12):
Oh, yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (13:13):
I got them started. And I don't think I touched a
torch or a match or anything at all through that
whole hour, hour and a half.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (13:21):
Absolutely. Absolutely. So let's get up here.
Mike, talk to us about the Petra.

>> (13:26):
Uh, so the Petra, um, it's called the car from
Stone Maduro Torpedo. Um, it is. The, uh, wrapper
is habano oscuro pilon. Uh, the filler is, uh,
bolada jalapa. Uh, the seco is Esteli Criro, and
the ligiro is jalapa habano. Um, yeah, so. Really?

(13:51):
Ah, interesting. Um, for sure. A couple of my own
notes here about this. Nice and balanced. M. A bit
sweet. Um, I am gonna have nothing but crushing
great things to say about this cigar.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (14:10):
Yeah.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Can, uh, I have any swooning?
Well, you were talking to us about the 1985 Petra
concert you went to.

>> (14:18):
Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (14:19):
Uh, it brought up your memories, right? Yeah. Uh,
or Was that riches? Well, 1985, I think in the
Metro.

>> (14:25):
Concert of having this, it's gonna make.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (14:27):
Me the same one. No, was that the same concert.

>> (14:31):
Uh, in the middle of having this really great
Maduro, I went and grabbed something that I
thought might be a good choice of pairing. And I
have to say that, um, it is one of those magical
moments where I was like, oh, my gosh, the heavens
have completely opened up and welcomed my palette

(14:51):
into just a moment of bliss. So I, oh my. I
grabbed.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (14:55):
He's got the vapors. He's got the vapors. He has
vapors.

>> (14:59):
So I went and grabbed a, uh, Kalila's, uh, scotch.
Um, it's 12 year from an independent modeler that
you may not know, which is called Fergan Harris.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (15:09):
Can you say that a little faster?

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (15:11):
Uh, can you say that on the radio?

>> (15:13):
The very unique aspect of this particular Kalila,
it was actually finished, uh, off in a, um, uh,
uh, Brunello, um, you know, wine. And it was just
absolutely magical. I just even had to pause
myself. I was like, okay, I can't believe that I

(15:35):
have slapped two things together that work really
this well. And, uh, so since that drag show. Well,
so one is that particular wine is, um, I mean, I
knew the scotch already incredibly well, and
there's not a lot of people that use Brunello as a
finishing barrel, uh, for Scotch. And I really

(15:58):
thought that that was going to be a great choice.
I, I, it was better than great. I mean, it was
just absolutely stunning.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (16:06):
What do you think this thing is? Dessert wrapped
in a tobacco leaf?

>> (16:11):
There you go.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (16:13):
Uh, smooth.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (16:15):
These, uh, big, like, beautiful, oily notes, uh,
all the way through this thing. Um, it also the
smoke concentration here, it's a, it's a big, oily
kind of velvety smoke as well. So, uh, the, the
retro hell is just as smooth.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (16:34):
Yeah, the retro was fantastic.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (16:37):
Uh, it's one of those things where, you know, I
use it as a, as a tool to try to look for some
complexity and some nuance, uh, and kind of found
myself, uh, enjoying it a whole lot.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (16:51):
Yeah, rich.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Absolutely 100, everything. Well, I don't want to
go as far as Mike did. I think he had some sort
of, uh, transcendental experience. But no, I
really enjoyed it. Um, yeah, everything you said.
I had a little, I tasted a little bit of cocoa.
Uh, some coffee for me, so it's great.

(17:14):
Uh, I absolutely love this cigar. I mean, I've got
nothing bad to.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (17:19):
Say, so I guess don't have anything good to say.

>> (17:22):
One question I'll throw out Uh, I love it. So, you
know, we have reference standards with a lot of
other products. Would you consider this like the
reference standard for what Maduro's can be?

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (17:32):
This, this could absolutely be a control point.

>> (17:36):
I, I really think so.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (17:37):
Yeah.

>> (17:38):
I mean, uh, it. I, I would absolutely put it in
the top five Maduro's I've ever had.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (17:43):
Well, I can bet you, I can tell you what we're
gonna rate it here. Oh yeah, everybody gives it a
five.

>> (17:48):
Because that is exactly how many boxes of this
Maduro that they should send to us. Yeah, yeah,
they send us five boxes.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (18:00):
There you go.

>> (18:01):
Robert, I'm taking your half.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Did they give us a.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (18:03):
Do we get the lawyer in them? We get a Petra album
with that?

>> (18:07):
I have to take my 33 and a third somewhere.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (18:09):
That's right. All right. So, uh, Benjamin, tell us
about the diamond series Habano Grand Toro.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (18:15):
Yeah, the diamond series Habano grand toro. Uh,
another six and a quarter by 54 here. Rapper, uh,
is going to be Habano from Cueca, Ecuador. Pilon,
uh, filler is Bilato San Isidro, Seco, Esteli,
Habano Des Florado and the la hero is Sumatra. Um,

(18:35):
this one was uh, very enjoyable just like the rest
of the line. Right. Like, uh, say I can't say
enough about Razor Edge burn line. Uh, nice heavy
oily smoke through this, uh, Habano always kind of
piques my interest because I do enjoy the heavier
spice complexity from a lot of cigars. It's just

(18:58):
in my wheelhouse.

>> (18:59):
I think it's a moment where I have a lot of, um,
optimism. Yeah, that would be how I would describe
an Habano.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (19:07):
However, the diamond series here for me didn't uh,
deliver that real big spice bomb, um, that I was
expecting it. Subtle, uh, yeah, very, very subtle.
Uh, even on the retro didn't, uh, knock you down.
It didn't leave that kind of, you know, like red
pepper, uh, in your nose at all. Um, but that

(19:31):
being said, it's definitely still a really solid
production for me, Mommy.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (19:38):
All right, all right. What about you?
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I, I agree. I didn't, I didn't find it, um, I mean
it was enjoyable, but it was, it was pretty light
and smooth. So, um, yeah, I'd go back to it, but I
didn't find it to be like, extremely.

>> (19:55):
We'll be right back.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yes.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (20:02):
And we're back. We hope you enjoyed those
commercials. This is good old boy Barger with sip
suds and smokes and our smoke segments going over
anything you can Smoke. Today we're talking about
imami cigars. And, uh, Benjamin, why don't you
tell us about the diamond series habano grand tour
rope?

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (20:18):
Yeah, absolutely. So this diamond, uh, series
habano Grantoro is a six and a quarter by 54. Uh,
the rapper is habano from cuenca, Ecuador pilon.
The filler is B. San Isidro Seco here is est.
Habano des Florado, and the lero is Sumatra. Um,

(20:39):
when I see habano, right, I think big, bold, spicy
notes. Um, honestly, one of my favorite blends.
I'm a big spice forward. You know, give me all the
black pepper, red pepper, jalapeno notes that you
can get into a cigar. Um, and this thing didn't

(21:01):
have that big, booming, overwhelming, uh, spice.
It was very subtle. It was consistent all the way
through. But even on the retro hell, it didn't
really pick up a whole lot. Still just kind of
left that like, just kind of tingle of black
pepper, uh, on the back end.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (21:17):
Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (21:17):
Um, but that being said, still an incredible
smoke. I can't say enough about, uh, imami cigars
and putting these things together.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah, no, this one was a little, um. To me, it
was, uh, it definitely smooth, um, but a very
light smoke in. In my opinion. Um, you know, so it

(21:38):
wasn't. Wasn't necessarily my favorite because I'm
like you. I like the big flavors. I like the big
boldness. I like the spice. This, um, is more of
a, um, easy, maybe early morning smoke. Something
like.
Oh, yeah, big time, early morning. I start my day
with this.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (21:55):
Yeah, I like this one as a habano as well.

>> (21:58):
Subtle.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (21:58):
You know, it was. It was definitely subtle, but,
you know, construction quality, everything just
perfect. Spot on with a cigar.

>> (22:06):
Um, well, you know, I think that's, you know, what
I enjoyed about this was just all these, you know,
subtle elements that were kind of bringing this
around. And. Yeah, I think that, you know, from a
sense of balance, um, I don't know that every, you
know, Nika has to be just jacked up, you know, the
whole time. Fair enough. And, you know, I think

(22:26):
that there are definitely a group of people. I'm
raising my hand that, you know, I'd like balance
as opposed to these, you know, incredibly
overarching, um, you know, these very high spice,
you know, Nicaragua, you know, style, you know,
cigars, uh, all the time. And I. I'm. I'm. That
person would go, I would like to have something

(22:48):
that has that flavor, but it's just not jacked up.
And, um, that's, you know, what I really enjoyed
about this particular cigar was just all those
really subtle elements to them. I actually paired
this, you know, with a real McCoy rum, uh, their
12 year old. And um, you know, it was just. Okay.

(23:12):
Um, it probably wasn't, you know, and I think it
was just that subtle on top of subtle component.
It needed something that was distinctive to kind
of jump out and you know, kind of drive a bit more
flavor profile, you know, through it all. But I
would absolutely go back to this stick all day
long.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (23:31):
And I wonder if it's the Sumatra that's toning
back the Habano.

>> (23:36):
Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (23:36):
Through that blend, the Sumatra is leading with
more of those kind of like milder, almost like
sweet flavors.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (23:45):
Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (23:45):
Um, maybe a little bit of those kind of like
cinnamon floral notes.

>> (23:49):
If that's the case. Please, other people copy that
would have no problem with that.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (23:54):
Cinnamon.

>> (23:57):
Yeah, yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (23:58):
What do we give it, boys?

>> (23:59):
Yeah. All day long.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (24:00):
Out of four.

>> (24:01):
Uh, for sure. Yeah. So.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (24:05):
All right, Mike, you're gonna go magnificent. All
right. Mike's good old boy. Mike's gonna talk to
us about the Labella Victoria.

>> (24:21):
Yeah. So, uh, the, uh, Labella Victoria Maduro
Turo. Uh, this was a 6 by 50. Uh, the wrapper is a
Maduro San Andreas Mexican pilon. Uh, the filler
is a Boludo Esteli Habano. The seco is Esteli
Crillo. The leguero is Esteli habano. Top Premier

(24:45):
102, which I hadn't heard of before, so, um, I'd
be really.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (24:49):
Put numbers to be fancy.

>> (24:50):
Yes.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: That was really. Man, it's 1 above the 101.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (24:55):
Yeah, it's ah, 1 above.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: But this one goes to 102.
It's 1 louder.

>> (25:00):
It's. It's the next roll over, man. Yeah, so
that's right. Yeah, for sure.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (25:07):
I um, absolutely love this cigar.

>> (25:08):
Yeah, just, uh, really fantastic. Go ahead.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (25:11):
Maduro smokers. Maduro, like just the bell of the
ball, you know. It really was for me, it was, it
was the full body spicy. Just powerhouse of a
cigar. The burn quality. It had that real white,
ashy ash to it, you know that. Well, it had. That

(25:35):
was the potassium in the soil makes the ash white,
you know, the real rich soil that you could just
tell where those leaves came from. That just kept
that ash nice and tight and together, you know, I
actually had to like break the ash off a mine.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (25:49):
A lot of these.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (25:50):
Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (25:50):
Well, I think we touched on it with the Petra too,
where maybe like the Petra is the bar for
Maduro's, right?

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (25:57):
Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (25:57):
And this one with that San Andreas, uh, wrapper
brings that nice sprinkle of spice and pepper that
takes a Maduro from being what you expect to then
exceeding that expectation.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (26:14):
Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (26:14):
Ah, right. And so this is. If you're. I think you
nailed it. If you're a Maduro smoker and you're
looking for something that's. That's really gonna,
you know, pack the punch and hit the notes that
you're looking for.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (26:27):
Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (26:27):
Then this Labella Victoria is definitely one you
should find today.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I got it. I got a distinct black pepper, big time
flavor on that, which, um, you know, it's in my
palate. Love that. Um, had a. It did smooth out
after a while, but it was still very flavorful,
very spicy. Which, you know, when we're talking

(26:48):
about the. The Grand Turo as being kind of mellow
and, you know, not really m. My cup of. This is my
cup of tea. This is the one that I would go to,
um, and smoke most of the time.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (27:00):
Sure.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Um, just because it has so much flavor in it. And
that's what I want out of cigar.
I even think the size matters in this. The 6 by
50. That 50 ring gauge is just a golden zone. You
know, 48 to 50 for me is just that golden zone of
flavor.

>> (27:20):
Uh, a couple more things to add to our discussion.
This, actually, this particular stick was a tad
crispy, uh, for me. And, um, you know, I thought
that it was a good, solid average. You know,
Maduro, um, had, like, again, these very subtle,
you know, spice hints with the, you know, touch of
leather, you know, as well around it. I actually

(27:42):
paired this with another rum, uh, the, uh, fake
McCoy, the Black Tot 2020 Four Masters blend,
which is a fabulous, you know, rum. I mean,
easily. Um, I. I just. I thought it was working
well, you know, the. The two of these together,
but it just, you know, I don't know. I. Compared
to the other Maduro, I would, you know, I would

(28:04):
actually go back to the other one. This.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (28:05):
Yeah.

>> (28:06):
I mean, this was.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (28:06):
Okay, so what are we giving it? We got a four.

>> (28:10):
All right.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (28:17):
Magnificent. So we're gonna get some story time in
right quick before we go to commercial. Remember
meeting the mean.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Absolutely.
Pca. I remember walking up and being like, okay,
this booth is. This guy's a little flashy. You
know, got the big sunglasses on with great merch.
They were all wearing shirts and had hats that

(28:38):
said it, but their logo and all the colors on
their table. I was like, what is this? And then
when I started talking to a man. That dude was
just so happy to see us. Yeah. And just so happy
that we were there. And what was great about it
is, you know, we've touched on it before when
we're at these, you know, that premier cigar
association trade show. We're, um. It's like 50,

(29:01):
50 are happy we're there. The other 50 could care
less. Yeah.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Well, you know, this is their big. This is where
they get their business from.
Right.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: This is where all the, all the shops, your local
shop most likely goes to PCA to buy for the year.
So these guys are out there selling and we come
along and we're, we're trying to tell stories and,
and hear about them. And most of them, you know,
they like to see us because they know that it's

(29:23):
part of their business that you guys listen to us.
Um, this guy, uh, you know, I don't know that he
knew who we were, but he definitely wanted to talk
to us.
Yes. So, yeah, he made really cool feel like we
were, you know, pretty, pretty happy to see us.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (29:37):
Um, but anyway, I got to talking to you.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (29:39):
Yeah. And then he got to talking to me. Yeah.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: How do I get rid of these guys?
But, yeah, when we come back from break, we're
gonna go over a couple more cigars and we'll be
right back after this. And welcome back to Sip

(30:02):
Suds and Smokes. Uh, we are the best thing on at
2am this is our smoke segments. We're going over
imami cigars.

>> (30:09):
Yes.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (30:09):
And man, uh, we have just had so much fun.

>> (30:12):
So good, man.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (30:13):
So much fun. Amin and your team, thank you guys
for getting us product and putting, putting this
together for us and, and helping us with this
because we actually, ah, had a blast doing this
one. Um, we're going to go over. Rich is going to
go over the pompei rise of the ash double wrap
torpedo.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: We got, we got the. It's, uh, a five and a half by

(30:35):
52 Torpedo. The wrapper is, uh, what do you call
it? A barber pole. It had the maduro and natural
wrap.
Yep.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: And then the filler is a, uh, balato. Uh, japala
seco is the estelle criojo. Leguero is, uh, a, uh,
uh, jalapa habano. So this thing was spicy. Had

(30:56):
some, um, a little bit of, A little bit of cedar,
a little bit of woody flavor to it. Uh, this thing
is right up my alley.
Yeah.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Um, excellent smoke, in my opinion.
Back alley behind cvs.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Well, that one too.
It's only on Tuesdays. Right.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah. So.

(31:16):
Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (31:17):
What time?

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (31:21):
All right. So what, what, Mike, what'd you think
about this one?

>> (31:24):
I captured a little bit of subtle spice kind of up
front for this. Um, you know, um, this was the
only one that I had. Just a, you know, a touch of
construction issues, just a few touch ups. I mean,
nothing, you know, barely even worth mentioning.
Uh, catch.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: But you're doing it.
Yeah, I am.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: It's probably.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (31:45):
You probably smoke it too fast, get out.

>> (31:47):
And I think it's just they set their bar, their
own bar so high. It's like, well, which one of
these things is not like the others, but, um, you
know, kind of cashews, hints of cedar, um, you
know, a little bit of spruce on the retrohale. Uh,
for me, um, this was a, it's also a super solid,
you know, product all the way around.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (32:07):
This thing was packed full of flavor. Um, I mean,
absolutely packed. And what was interesting to me
is I'm typically, I'm not a barber pole guy.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (32:17):
Yeah, same.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (32:18):
Because it's really hard to get those flavors to
be consistent that the wrappers that you choose
have to pair well. It's not just a. Oh, this color
looks good with this color. And I feel like a lot
of cigar manufacturers get that part wrong.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (32:33):
What I think, for, for me also not being a normal
fan of the barber pole style, it's like, it's this
switch where the flavor, uh, profiles are off and
on and off and on. Real, real sharp changes in the
smoking experience all the way through. And I
think they absolutely nailed it down, uh, with the

(32:54):
blending piece, which to me makes a lot more sense
from people that blend cigars. You think that, you
know, this kind of harsh switch wouldn't be there
with barber poles. And, and I, you know, obviously
taste is subjective, but.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (33:07):
Right.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (33:07):
Uh, there's people out there that like it. Uh,
but, but this thing just lines up and in. Flavor
is cohesive all the way through.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (33:15):
You strike.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (33:16):
You don't get that they bold the sharp change.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (33:18):
Yeah, yeah. Hands down. Love this cigar. Uh, give
it a four.

>> (33:24):
Interesting.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (33:30):
Magnificent. So up next, I'm going to tell you
guys about the Komodo series. Uh, this is the
Komodo series. I'm gonna butcher this word so bad.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Komodo or Dendura.
Mord Adura. Not no vanilla. Yeah. How do you say

(33:52):
this?

>> (33:52):
You just offended half a country right there.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (33:55):
Well, I mean, that's fine. This thing is a
Churchill sized cigar. Okay? So thank you for
getting the English word. And it's a Maduro.
That's Right. So the wrapper is a San Andreas
Maduro. The filler is estle Condega.

>> (34:08):
Very good.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (34:09):
And the seco is Jalapa. And the binders, Habano
and Lajero is Estelle. This cigar, let me just
preface. Churchill's not my size.

>> (34:18):
Not my size.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (34:19):
Not my size. But like I said earlier, the 48 to 50
is my cruising altitude. That's if I can get them
in that ring gauge, I'll smoke them.

>> (34:29):
But this thing, that's your altitude, your square
foot.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (34:31):
It could be my square footage. It's what's 7 by 50
square footage? You know.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (34:35):
Oh, Lord chaos.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (34:37):
Yeah. Right. This was my favorite cigar in the
line. One of. We're at the premium cigar
association trade show gave me a one of these and
one of these. That is a triple harrow Connecticut.
Huh? And dear God, that triple the hero
Connecticut is really close to being one of my top

(34:58):
five cigars that I've had in a long time. Wow,
that cigar is fantastic. And I will take it.

>> (35:05):
I praise.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (35:06):
Yes, absolutely.

>> (35:07):
From somebody that likes everything.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (35:09):
I know. I know. I don't like everything.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (35:12):
Is that a cigar?

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (35:13):
Yeah. Well, you got there.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I'll rate it a five.
So. But. But no, this Maduro, it was like punchy
and. And real earthy, subtle, sweet hints, little
cocoa like, man, it was just on point the whole
time. What do you think?
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Okay, so I really.

(35:34):
I'm leaving.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Here we go. Here we go. No, I really enjoyed it. I
don't know that I would rate it up there, like, as
the best of the best. I like the cigar.
That's not what I said about this. I said that
about the Connecticut version.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: The Connecticut.
I haven't had Connecticut version, which he
didn't.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I think this one was not as bold as I thought it

(35:56):
was going to be, to be honest with you. Yeah, I
thought it was.
It was good.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: It was solid. It was consistent, but made m. My
expectations were like, this is really going to be
like, you know. You know the Komodo dragon.
Yeah.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: It's gonna, you know, take you down.
And I love the tail on the. On the head of it,
too. But I, you know, but I stick a dynamite.

(36:18):
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: The fuse.
Yeah.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: But, yeah, I, like. I said I enjoyed it, but, um,
didn't feel like it was what I was expecting.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (36:26):
Yeah, along the lines with Rich here, rather. I
think they're a product of their own success with
this smoke. I think the Komodo was great. Uh, I
think I would lean more into, uh, Victoria or the
Petra. I think those definitely wowed Me more, um,
than The Komodo did. 100% solid. Solid. Smoke

(36:48):
anything that talks about, like, the. The venom,
right? Venom. No.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (36:53):
Uh, yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (36:54):
Uh, I definitely have high expectations for still
bulletproof construction. Had no issues with this.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (37:02):
I did not have to touch it. I did not have to
relight it. Did not have to nothing.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (37:06):
Because we have the opportunity to smoke so many
cigars, we also get the opportunity to kind of
pick them apart.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: And you were talking about the size of Churchill.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (37:14):
I get a little fatigued commitment as, uh, fast as
you smoke.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Well, you know, you say that. You say that, but it
took me almost 10 minutes to finish the Earth and
Earth.
Dude, that's good.

>> (37:32):
That's really good.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (37:33):
Good. That's good. I think I smoked this thing for
like, an hour and a half.

>> (37:37):
No, no, uh, canoeing issues overall.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (37:40):
What are we gonna. What are we gonna give her
there? We'll give it a four. Yeah.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Solid line.
Yeah.
>> UnidentifiedGood ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: All the way across.
Yeah. Magnificent.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (37:50):
I think solid's an understatement.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (37:51):
Yeah, absolutely.

>> (37:52):
Really great, uh, product line.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (37:55):
Yeah. These guys are going to do very well. Very
well, especially with the, you know, online
presence.

>> (38:02):
Send us more boxes.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (38:03):
Yeah, send us more boxes, for sure, Petra, please.
That's right. So thanks to my co host today, good
old boy Benjamin.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin (38:11):

really cool. You can buy from them directly, but,
um, you know, I would definitely say that don't,
uh, be afraid to, uh, tell your retailers. Say,
why don't you have this in the humidor, man? Yeah,
for sure.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker (39:05):
