things that go bump in the night, and some children
may not be able to handle what others can. Parental

The Curse of the Bones written by Kieran kreiderman Age six.
It was the first day of summer holiday and Kieran
was going to the museum with his family. Upon their arrival,
Kieran asked if they could go see the Ancient Egypt exhibit.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
First.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
In the Egypt exhibit, they saw really cool things like pottery, art, jewels, tombs,
and even a skeleton with a broken head. Kieran excitedly said, look, mom,
a skeleton, Let's check it out. As soon as they
were standing in front of the once mummified skeleton, Kieran
felt a strange and eerie feeling. He brushed it off,
(02:06):
but during the rest of the museum visit, the image
of the skeleton was burned into his mind. He couldn't
think of anything else. In the car ride home, Kieran
tried to think about the neat taxidermied animals he had seen,
or the dinosaurs hanging from the tall ceilings, but nothing worked.
The skeleton bones kept haunting his brain. After dinner, Kieran
(02:29):
played until bedtime, then went up to his room with
his mom to go to sleep. Once he finally fell asleep,
it wasn't long until he heard rattling coming from outside
his bedroom door. The door creaked open and he saw
a shadowy figure creeping up beside his bed. Kieran recognized
the skeleton immediately. It was the same one from the museum.

Kieran tried to yell for help, but the bony hand
of the skeleton covered his mouth. He finally found the
strength to rip the skeleton's arms of The skeleton threw
its whole body onto Kieran's bed and screamed, I need
a new home for my bones. Your body will fit
these bones perfectly. Kira quickly jumped up and grabbed the

biggest book he could find and threw it at the skeleton.
The skeleton bones crashed to the floor into a pile
of dust. Everything went silent. Kieran crept into his parents
room and whispered in his dad's ear, Dad, please come
to my room. Something crazy just happened. When Kieran and

his dad went back to the bedroom, nothing was there.
The pile of bones was gone. The next morning, while
Kierra ate breakfast and thought of whether what happened during
the night was reality or just a dream, he noticed
his dog chewing on an oddly shaped bone. A weird
feeling came over him. Kieran's mom snapped him out of

his thoughts by asking, Hey, what was all of that
noise coming from your room last night. Kieran immediately knew
he had not dreamt anything, and that the museums skeleton
had haunted him in the night.

Once upon a time, there was a person who really
wanted to get married, and then they had a big wedding.
But when they had a wedding, all the people disappeared.
What was left was a big light. In the big light,

they saw a big face. When they stepped in, they
saw a big face with red eyes staring at them.
It was so scary that it said there is no
way out. Huh, said the bride. Then the voice said,
the only thing I want is your wedding ring. Then
they threw the ring and it fell into his eye,

I'm Jamison. I'm eleven years old, and this is the
story of the Thing in My Closet. One night, when
I was brushing my teeth, I heard a slam coming
from my room. I ran to check my room, but

it was empty. That night, I heard some creaking from
my closet. I stood up and then I saw it.
It had bright red, glowing eyes and scaly skin. I
got my hockey stick and ran to the closet. Then
it came out all the way. It was horrifying. It
locked my door and grinned. That's when I noticed that

he looked like a lizard. Then I ran toward him
and I hit him that he hit me with his tail.
I jumped out of the window and he followed. When
he got down, the worst thing happened. My parents woke up.
They came to my room. We were silent when they
went downstairs to call the police. The fight went on
and then he hit me. It was very painful, crap,

I said. Then I saw the bug spray my mom
was using when she was gardening. I sprayed his eyes
and blinded him. My dad taught me that bug spray
blinds you when the first day I walked to school.
Then I pushed him into a thorn bush. Hopefully he died. Hopefully.

Alien Alert written by A. Laura, age nine. It was
the year of July first, twenty twenty five. Josh Spence
and his friend Alan Smith had a sleepover. Josh's parents
were out of town and told Josh that he could
have a friend over. They loved to play video games together,
especially with aliens in it. Let's team up and defeat
(07:28):
the Queen Alien, said Josh. While his parents were on vacation,
Josh and Allen heard a loud scream from a lady's voice.
They both ran to the window to see where that
scream came from. Josh and Allen's mouths drop open. They
both saw aliens shooting out lasers everywhere. Josh and Allen
went outside to get a closer look. While being outside,
(07:50):
they dodged a laser. The whole sky turned purple and
the sky was filled with dark clouds that had lightning
shooting in every direction. Josh, this feels like the game
we just played, said Alan. Could this game be coming
to life? They saw aliens shooting at people's homes, cars,
even their mailboxes. They were on a mission to take
(08:11):
over planet Earth. Then from the sky they saw a
giant spaceship with lasers shooting everywhere. Quick, go back inside
and hide, said Josh. Then when the giant spaceship landed,
the Queen Alien walked out of the ship. Look, he's
the Queen Alien. She looks like the same one from
the video game, said Alan. Josh's parents arrived back home
(08:34):
only to find aliens shooting their lasers everywhere. Josh's parents
came running at them. Josh's dad said, get in the
house hurry. Josh's dad told the kids to come with him.
He opened a secret door behind the fridge that led
to the garage. Oh, how long has this been happening?
Said the father, Josh said, I don't know. We were
playing video games this whole time, and then we heard
(08:56):
a loud scream. Wait, that's it, Alan said, the video game,
when we were facing the Queen Alien in the game.
That's what all of this started. We need to finish
playing the video game, said Alan. What have your kids
gone insane? Have you looked outside today? You think all
of this came from a video game, said Josh's mom.
(09:19):
Well do you have a better idea, said Josh's dad.
Josh and Allen went to finish playing the video games.
John's parents were trying to distract the aliens by throwing
objects the other way. Quick, get the controllers. Let's finish this,
said Alan. The Queen Alien shot three big lasers right
at their house. Boom boom crack. Oh no, the lasers
(09:42):
are destroying the house. I can see the sky through
the roof, said Alan. Their big guard dog that normally
protects them was hiding in the basement, nowhere to be found.
The Queen Alien then started walking toward the house. Josh's
dad walked out and yelled, what do you want from us?
The Queen Alien said, in a deep pitched radio voice,
(10:03):
we are looking for a boy called Josh. He must
come with us or else your earth will be destroyed.
What why him? What would you possibly want from a
nine year old boy, said Josh's father. He knows how
to stop us, and we will not let that happen.
And over the boy.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Now this is your last warning.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
The alien then sent out a sonic boom sound that
brought everyone to their feet. Inside, the boys were on
the last level of the game. Quick, we're almost there,
said Josh. Bang bang bang, laser sounds were coming into
the kitchen. The aliens were in the kitchen, said Alan.
Just then, the Queen Alien was standing by the front door,
(10:48):
and both boys screamed. The Queen Alien shot out a
green slime at Alan. Alan was trapped in the slime.
The Queen Alien said, there you are, Come with us,
or Earth will be destroyed. Just then, Josh pressed the
last button to defeat the Queen Alien. Slowly, the alien
(11:08):
Queen turned into dust. The green slime that Alvin was
inside broke free, leaving Alan with a stinky goop smell.
Josh and Allen both looked at each other and said,
let's never play that video game again. The next week,
Josh stayed over at Alan's house. Allan's dad came downstairs

and said, it's who wants to watch a movie?
Speaker 1 (11:33):
All right?

It the movie Aliens. Josh and Allen both screamed no.
