Armed with a mysterious leather-bound manuscript and help from a library employee, Shawn and Lucy venture into an abandoned office on Halloween to uncover the truth about the Grove City Library's dark secret.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
The following is a sequel to twenty twenty four is
the Grove City Werewolf. If you haven't listened to it,
we suggest going back and doing so before tuning into
this one. And if you've missed the first two parts
of this story, you can also find those at micro

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Welcome to micro Terrors, scary stories for kids where it's
always the spooky season, full of chills, thrills, and spine
tingling spooks. Micro Terrors are family friendly frights for those

(00:55):
ages eight and up, and while our stories are for
younger years, we are still talking about things that go
bump in the night, and some children may not be
able to handle what others can. Parental consent is recommended
now Forts to Knights micro Terror. The Grave City Library

(01:23):
Part three written by Scott Donnelly, narrated by Darren Marler.
The sun rose on Halloween, but by noon dark clouds
had rolled in and voided the blue sky that had
falsely teased a beautiful day. Sewn told his family that

(01:44):
he was going to head to the library to conduct
his own research. He was no secret to any of
them that that's what his plan had been, so they
let him go. Sean was convinced that his family would
assume he would only snoop around the library, maybe ask
a few questions, and then leave empty hands. However, what
they didn't know were all the details about Kreeker, the creeper,

(02:06):
Anthony Moran, and the chilling encounter that Lucy Buxton from
next door had experienced back in the spring. Shawn and
Lucy had their day planned out, and the first order
of business was to head to Tammy's Pizza and make
sure their stomachs were full. No ghost hunt could or
should be handled on an empty stomach. It was just
afternoon when Sewn and Lucy met out in front of

(02:27):
their houses and walked together to Tammy's Pizza. They ordered
a medium the Works pizza, both of them agreeing on
no mushrooms, and sat near the window.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
As they ate. From where they sat across the street,
the Grove City Library loomed like a hulking phantom all
on its own. Neither Sean nor Lucy could keep their
eyes off it. Now knowing the full extent of what
lurked inside, what haunted the building, Lucy pulled out her phone,
which grabbed Sean's attention away from the magnificently designed building

(02:58):
across the street. You doing, he asked. Lucy swiped and
tapped on the screen. I'm gond issue Casey an email
and let her know that we'd like to talk to
her if she's working today. Sean finished, chewing the bite
he took and cocked his head. This is Casey, Lucy
glanced up from her phone, Casey Cox, the assistant director

(03:19):
of the library. Sean wiped his mouth with a napkin
and looked confused, like he'd never heard the name before.
Lucy set her phone down and looked hard at Sean.
Surely she's come up in your deep diving research, Lucy said,
she basically runs the library. Sean shook his head. I'm
sure that he had ever heard or seen the name before.

(03:41):
Lucy just stared at him. Well, maybe you somehow missed
her name. She knew Darren too, and according to his emails,
she's the one who gave him permission to stake out
the library overnight, so I'm sure she must have some
information on the situation. There's no way this was a
standard break in. Sean cocked his head again, his eyes
longed by Lucy's words, Darren Darren Miller, the author, the

(04:05):
one who was supposed to Lucy stopped talking. A startling
realization came over her, and she quickly picked her phone
back up. She scrolled again through her email, her contacts,
everything the name Casey Cox didn't appear at all. She
searched the library's website, where Casey had been listed under
the staff section. Nothing. Lucy looked back at Sean with

(04:28):
worried eyes. She's gone too. After they finished their lunch,
Sean and Lucy walked across the street, battling a cold
drizzle of rain. Thunder rolled above as they ascended the
concrete stairs to the library. This was the first time
Sean had been to it, and he couldn't help himself
from admiring the massive, wavy design of the building. It

(04:50):
was incredible to look at, modern and unique, not usually
the type of place that one would assume to harbor
ghosts and ghouls. Once they were inside, Lucy was anxious
to find an employee. She approached a young lady wearing
a name tag, a teenage employee that was dressed as
raggedy Ann and hastily asked to speak with Casey Cox.

(05:11):
The teen girl just gawked at her. I've got to
share who dad is, the girl said, with a nervous stutter,
But you could ask someone at the pro a desk.
Lucy barely thanked the teen girl before she hurried through
the rest of the building to the front desk. Sewn
struggled to keep up with her, but once he did,
Lucy was already interrogating the woman at the desk, who
was wearing a sparkling black robe and a tall, pointy

(05:33):
witch's hat casey cox. Lucy repeated to the woman, the
assistant director of this library. Can I speak with her?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Please?

Speaker 1 (05:42):
The woman shook her head slowly. I don't know who
the idy is, she politely responded. Sean pulled Lucy away
and whispered, maybe you're think it is somebody else. Maybe
you have her name wrong. I don't, Lucy exclaimed, growing agitated.
She turned back to the woman at the desk. Who
is yours stint director?

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Then?

Speaker 1 (06:02):
The woman wasn't sure how to answer. She almost looked
like she'd either forgot or didn't know who oversaw the
library at all. Exactly, Lucy said, with a condescending smirk.
She backed away with Sean grabbed him by the hand
and pulled him aside. They tucked away between two tall
shelves that contained items that were on hold and awaiting

(06:22):
to be picked up Casey and Darren. Lucy began, you
don't know who I'm talking about. They don't know who
I'm talking about. This confirms the theory Kreeger the Creeper
has both of them. They don't exist here anymore, They're
somewhere else. Sean didn't recognize the names Lucy was spitting out,

(06:43):
but he did know, based on their conversation yesterday, that
Kreeger the Creeper would allegedly steal people and erase all
evidence of them. Sean wasn't stupid. He knew that was
probably why he couldn't recall their names, but something did
stick out as odd to him. You know them, then,
he asked Lucy. If all evidence of the people that

(07:04):
Kreeger takes is supposedly gone from our reality, how do
you know about him? Lucy thought for a moment, she
hadn't considered that before and not twisted in her stomach.
For some reason, she knew about people that didn't exist
anymore at least, but why why only her Sean slowly

(07:27):
extended his hand, his arm shaking, and hesitatingly rested his
palm on Lucy's shoulder. What are you doing, Lucy asked.
Sean removed his hand quickly. Sorry, he said, I was
checking to see if you were a ghost or something.
Lucy smacked Sean's hand away, you CROs, I'm not a ghost, sorry,
Sean nervously pleaded. I just I just don't know how

(07:50):
else you would know about people that don't exist. I mean,
unless you were. Lucy stood with her hands on her hips.
Unless I'm what Sean choked on his next words, but
let them slip out anyway, unless you're making it all up,
Lucy was furious, how dare you? Suddenly someone appeared behind Sean.

(08:10):
Lucy looked up and Sean spun around quickly. It was
Raggedy Ann, or at least the teen girl who wore
a Raggedy Ann Halloween costume. Sorry, Lucy said, we were
being too loud. The girl looked concerned. She glanced around
to make sure no one was looking, and then whispered,
follow me, I have something to show you. The girl
turned and walked away, urging Sean and Lucy to follow her.

(08:34):
After a brief hesitation. They did. They followed her up
a large staircase and stopped outside of an office that
sat behind a glass door and glass window. The nameplate
on the door was blank, and beyond the glass was
a dark, empty office. What is this, Lucy asked, This
was Casey's office. The girl said, wait, so you did

(08:54):
know who I was talking about, Lucy asked. The girl nodded, yes,
But I wanted you to ask one of our other employees,
just to get the further confirmation I needed. The girl
looked around, making sure the coast was clear, and then
introduced herself. I'm Alli. I work here part time during
the day. I started on evening shifts, but things got
really creepy and I refused to work anything but daytime

(09:16):
hours from bed on creepy how Sean asked, I think
you guys already know, Alli said, kreeger the creeper. I
saw it. It chased me through the library after we
closed one night, I had to stay a little later
to reshelve some books i'd screwed up, and Casey trusted
me to lock up Afterwards. After everyone was gone, I

(09:37):
heard the sound of dragging jades. I thought it was
something in the events. At first rats or some other pest,
but then it just appeared at the end of the
aisle I was working in. It was a flowing, shadowy thing,
like a dark ghost. It had red eyes, bloodshot eyes.
Then it shot toward me, reaching out with these long,
ever extending, murky arms. I screamed and read as fa

(10:00):
as as I could, and then a man stopped me
and banished the ghost away. It was an older man
with a beard. I'd never seen him before. He looked
out of place. Then he gave me some really strange advice.
He said, losing track of time can be a blessing
or a curse. Make the most of your time, complete
what you need to, otherwise your ending will just linger.

(10:22):
A chill ran up Lucy's back. She remembered those exact words.
She remembered that same man during her after hours encounter.
I was chased too, Lucy said, I saw that man.
Who is it? Casey didn't want to say. At first,
she pretended she didn't know, but I was persistent and

(10:42):
pestered her until she finally cracked that Mad was the
ghost of Anthony Mourrad. What I figure is that mister
Burrad and Krieger work in tandem trying to claim people
characters for his book. When a good candidate reveals themselves,
Krieger takes them and they become part of the story.
When mister Barrad doesn't what a certain character that Kreeger

(11:03):
is pursuing, he stops his villain by appearing himself and
for a lack of a better term, saves that person.
You and I were saved by mister Burrd. Darren Miller
and Casey Cox worked. I think it's clear that he
either doesn't what children in his book or is just
more sensitive to them. Is book? Sean questioned, When people

(11:25):
vanish from this world, they end up in his book.
Alli nodded, Where is his book? Lucy asked. Alli turned
her body to face the dark, shadowy office behind the
glass Casey kept it did there in a filebox beneath
her desk. She continued to open up to me, telling
me that any time something strange happened around the library,

(11:46):
she had learned to look at the book afterwards. At
each time, there were new details, chapters, characters. Ellie turned
back to Shan and Lucy. She lost track of how
many characters had been added over the years. That's a
lot of missing people, missing people that no one even
knows about, Lucy added, in a haunting tone. Look, Ali continued,

(12:09):
I have to get back to work, but you guys
could check out the office for clues. She grabbed a
small ring of keys from her pocket and unlocked the office.
If if I diddy they get arrested, please let me know.
With that, Allie trotted off back down the stairs. Sean
and Lucy looked at each other and smiled. Think I'm
making it all up now, Lucy snarked, sorry, Sean said, uncomfortably,

(12:32):
shuffling his feet about. Lucy turned the knob and pushed
the door open. The two of them slipped in and
closed it, blogging it from the inside. Sean lowered the
blinds on the window and door, while Lucy flipped on
the lights. The office was mostly bare. The desk held
the computer, The file cabinet against the wall had an

(12:52):
old clock sitting on it, and there were a couple
of portraits hung on the wall that depicted Grove City's history.
Lucy went to the desk and looked underneath, and just
as Ali had claimed, there was a file box. She
pulled it out and lifted the lid. There were papers
stacked inside. She removed them handfuls at a time, searching

(13:12):
for the book that was supposedly in there, and finally,
near the bottom she found it. She pulled out a
leather bound notebook, stood up straight and held the book
out for Sean to see. Bingo, she said. Sean joined
her side as she laid the book out on the
desk and opened to the title page. Kreeger the Creeper,
written by Anthony Moran, was scribbled on page one. Lucy

(13:36):
flipped the page to where chapter one began and started
to read it out loud. Like all classic tales of
suspense and terror, Hours starts with a blinding flash of
lightning and a deafening crash of thunder ominously on que
A thunderous crack outside rattled the building and shattered Sean
and Lucy's nerves. The office lights flickered and then one

(13:57):
by one all of them burst. Tiny sh shards of
glass sprayed all over the room and plunged to the
office into darkness. Is a stop reading, Sean said, you're
upsetting of the book. Lucy grabbed on to Sean as
tightly as she could, upsetting the book, Oh the ghost,
Oh the author, I don't know. Thunder continued to ravage

(14:18):
the world outside. The dark office slipped into an unnerving silence,
with an occasional burst of sparks from the broken fluorescent
bulbs on the ceiling. Sewn and Lucy continued to hold
each other, taking short, fearful breaths, and then the dragging
sounds began. Shames dragging slowly across the floor inched closer
and closer. A dreadful lament echoed through the office, raising

(14:43):
every single hair on Sean and Lucy's body. Then, within
the flickering lights of the sparks, a shadow formed, tall
and wide. Sean and Lucy felt its unnatural presence. Continuing
to hold each other tightly, they slowly turned around to
face the indistinct mer prowler. All they could see was blackness,

(15:04):
and then two bloodshot eyes opened within the murk. Kreeger's
arms extended out toward them, its fingers appearing as long,
wispy digits. Then, with a sudden surge of momentum, Kreeker
the creeper, sprung forward and wrapped itself around Sean and Lucy.
They tried to scream, but it was too late. Their
cries for help were muddled, muted, and useless, and within

(15:28):
seconds both of them were gone, erased from existence by
the menacing phantom that haunted the Grove City Library. Thank
