Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Best Bits of the Week with Morgan. Number two.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
It is Best Bits Weekend, and guys, Thanksgiving is almost here.
I don't know about you, guys, but I'm really excited
for all the sides I'm about to devour on this day.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
This year is a little bit different. I'm not cooking food.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
We're buying sides from a place in town, So I
hope it's.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
As exciting as just cooking all the food.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
I don't know we'll see, but I hope you guys
are also getting excited to see.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
All your friends and family.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Be sure before we dive into the Best Bits this week,
you go check out part one and part three. This
weekend with Abby, her and I talked about some silly
non negotiables.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
We have for dating.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
We also talked about our favorite Christmas movie that we
will watch to kind of kick off the holiday season,
plus our unusual talents. So go check out both of
those parts. But for now, we are diving straight into
this week because gosh, there was some good ones. We
had Ronnie Dunn on the show, and one of my
favorite stories that he was talking about was a moment
with Riba and they ran into a bunch of fans
(01:04):
and what happened. All I know is that in this moment,
I'm picturing Ronnie in true like stage dad mode, and
it's amazing. The story made me smile, so I hope
you love it. Here is Bobby talking to Ronnie Dunn.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Number seven, so Bobby Bones Show Interviews. In case you
didn't know.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
All right, coming in the studio. Now is Ronnie Dunn,
lead singer of Brooks and Done. What do you think
the most streamed song is from Brooks and Dun Neon Moon, Yeah,
on Moon number one, Booget number two?
Speaker 5 (01:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:37):
Wa you think number three is Marie? Yeah, that's four
at number three, Red Dirt Road.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
There's one more in the.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Top five that you don't have Neon Moon, Boot, Scoot
and boogie Red Dirt Road.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
My Maria, what's the other one? Come on in, Come
on in like a hint. I got it? What hard
working man, brand new man? That one?
Speaker 7 (01:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:05):
On the Bobby Bones Show.
Speaker 8 (02:06):
Now done.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
Yeah, you have to hold your mike.
Speaker 9 (02:09):
So did you make a lot of money or are you?
Did you lose a lot of money?
Speaker 4 (02:12):
Well, I sold all the lose money. I sold all
this stuff for money. New contract happened.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
We sold. We pawned everything so they could pay me.
Speaker 9 (02:19):
I get it.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
How are you doing, I'm tangled up? I'm good, Yeah,
tangled up? Is that like in the back seat of
a truck?
Speaker 10 (02:25):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (02:25):
Could you mean with the chord?
Speaker 9 (02:26):
What if I was writing the song, you would be
in the back seat of a truck or something. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Did you guys write when you were writing songs in
like I don't know, fifteen years ago, twenty years ago, whatever.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
Was there as much writing about whiskey?
Speaker 9 (02:38):
No, it was. It used to be no no hard
liquor products it really yeah, no, for real? Wow, that's
where like, like you know, all the endorsements came in
from from like beer company.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
Yeah. You ever get endorsement money from an alcohol company
for a song?
Speaker 10 (02:51):
Uh?
Speaker 9 (02:51):
No.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
I can't believe they had a no.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
Hard liquor policy in songs. Now it's like, you must
have hard liquor in a song or we can't even
record it.
Speaker 9 (02:57):
Well, it switched and you couldn't. I mean, of course,
I'm sure in my age, which that's fine.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
I have to.
Speaker 9 (03:06):
What we're talking about, the hard liquor.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
Yeah, And I can't believe that because every song now
has got whiskey or yeah, tequila.
Speaker 10 (03:14):
Or so it was a firm thing or is it understood?
Speaker 9 (03:17):
It was just kind of an understood kind of under
under the table manager might tell you in the office
or something. He said like, don't don't be mentioning whiskey now,
it's like a kid in me. Yeah, what about what
do you think I put my coffee to get here exactly?
Speaker 5 (03:28):
When you do this show?
Speaker 9 (03:29):
You don't about that because you're mister clean.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
I'm mister clean. Yes. What about hooking up in songs?
Did you guys talk about that at all like they
do now?
Speaker 9 (03:36):
Yeah, but we didn't know what hooking up hadn't come
into the the like the urban dictionary yet.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
I say tangled up. You know there's a tangled up
in the backseat or.
Speaker 9 (03:46):
I love that tangled up? Yeah, all tangled up in you?
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Yeah me?
Speaker 9 (03:50):
No, okay, Bobby.
Speaker 5 (03:52):
And the album's not out yet though.
Speaker 9 (03:54):
No, it'll be a while. And uh, that's it.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
So is it like a themed album? Yeah, all cowboy.
Speaker 9 (04:01):
It's all cowboy, but it's no campfire songs, you know
that kind of stuff. It's just, you know, every other
song is cowboy. Whereas the last record I did everything
was Honky Tops Neon.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
That's true.
Speaker 9 (04:12):
My wife goes, come on it. Sure that you can
diversify your vocabulary more than that.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
That is very that's very much that on brand.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Yeah, like if you did it, but if you did
Neon in the first album, but the whole second album
was boot Scooting, yeah, we'd be like all right, dude, right, yeah.
Speaker 9 (04:28):
So back in the day, when you do Bootscooter or
you do a hit song around here, you know, in
this town, everybody like starts pitching you Bootscoot or Neon
Moon or something. I got one the other day. It's great.
They're like, finally and this is strange. And I know
you've noticed. It's we're getting into like like mashups now
like hip hop did years ago. Uh And I got
(04:49):
one on Neon Moon. It was really cool.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
What do you mash ups like someone featuring for you
to sing or that they're sampling you. Well, listen, I'm
here with Ronnie.
Speaker 9 (05:00):
Seriously going to answer that question. I just said on
my phone.
Speaker 10 (05:03):
So they mashed up ne On Moon with another like
hip hop song, Neon.
Speaker 9 (05:08):
Moon is is is the song that they did? Well,
I'm calling smash up, But is it a mash up.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
So it's using your music, but they're singing new words
over it. Yes, like Cole Swindelle do with heads Carolina,
that's it.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
Yeah. So what's this one called?
Speaker 9 (05:20):
Though?
Speaker 5 (05:20):
Is they still called Neon Moon?
Speaker 9 (05:22):
It's like a blue neon, that's it?
Speaker 5 (05:25):
And who sings it?
Speaker 9 (05:26):
The guy singing the demo?
Speaker 3 (05:28):
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (05:29):
But it has five writers. It dances in and out,
and the melody dances in and out, and the lyrics
dance in and out. I mean just like it's really
well done.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
So it's still country though.
Speaker 9 (05:41):
Yeah, yeah, huh oh know, it's crazy.
Speaker 5 (05:44):
Do you have any relationship at all friendship with that Dolly?
Speaker 9 (05:49):
No other than just meeting her a few times? Really? Yeah? Wow?
Speaker 5 (05:52):
I thought big superstar like you me too? You thought
that too, dah, because I was with her last week
or so. I don't I see her maybe twice a year, right.
She kind of stays in Dolly's world, and.
Speaker 9 (06:04):
She'll just appear like the ghost in a room You've
been addressing room and all of a sudden she'll just
there she is.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
But it's like she only has a fax machine, Like
you can't text her still?
Speaker 9 (06:12):
How about that?
Speaker 5 (06:13):
Yeah? What are you doing if people want to get
ahold of you?
Speaker 9 (06:15):
What do they do it? Just just text me?
Speaker 5 (06:17):
Yeah? But Ronnie signs his text still I love Ronnie.
Speaker 9 (06:20):
I got busted by my daughter for doing that because
I know who you are.
Speaker 11 (06:23):
Same thing.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
He signs a r D. I'm like, you're phenas on
my phone. It's a code. I know how it is.
You a big texture? Do you emoji emojis?
Speaker 9 (06:32):
Uh? No? I try not to. You know. I heard
you doing an interviewing a while back, and you're talking
about how you'll go like if it's really funny, you'll
go ha or if it's really really funny, you'll go
ha ha ha.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Well, and there's a capitalization part too, Like if it's
just supposed to be funny, I do lowercase.
Speaker 9 (06:48):
Ha ha ha ha.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
If it's a little elevated but it's not a laugh
out loud, I'll do all lowercase ha ha ha ha
ha ha ha. If it's funny, I'll do capital ha
ha ha ha. If it's LOL and I do laugh
out loud, I do lol. And then if if it
really gets me, I'll be like I just audibly laughed
out loud.
Speaker 9 (07:05):
Well, and then there's the ba ha ha thing.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
I don't touch that. I don't, I don't do It
feels like a villain, you know. It feels like I'm
I'm committing a crime of some sort. So you guys
are done Brooks and done touring for now?
Speaker 9 (07:18):
Yeah, yeah we are. We start backing, may back again.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
I mean your shows are so big.
Speaker 9 (07:24):
Just to it? Well, you know, who knew we did?
We didn't know. We didn't go out a bunch of
stuff at first, and then we had to hurry up.
Speaker 5 (07:31):
What do you mean a bunch of stuff?
Speaker 9 (07:32):
Well people started coming to the shows?
Speaker 4 (07:33):
No, I know, but what kind of stuff you have
to buy? It that you didn't have production? You got
to run to Target real.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Quick and go like maybe we should have lights.
Speaker 9 (07:39):
Ope, lights, I guess we need an extra guitar, real flights,
fireworks there, all seriousness.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
You did not expect the success of the tour to happen.
Speaker 9 (07:47):
We didn't know. You never know, you know, we were
all for almost what ten years? And but it just
it just seem like you know, yesterday, just bank bank.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
Is it fun?
Speaker 9 (07:57):
Yes, it's more fun than ever.
Speaker 5 (07:59):
Why do you think that is?
Speaker 9 (08:01):
I don't know. I think we just came up for
air you know, it just turned into it. You know
how you have to do stuff every day all day,
all that and not complaining at all. Yeah, it's a
real job. And we just came up on the creative
plane too. You have to be creative and give yourself
some room.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
That's always a goal for me is to try to
be bored, because I never give myself space to be bored,
and I do my best thinking when I can be bored. Yeah,
but I start to get uncomfortable when I'm bored because
I'm like, I'm not There's something I'm not doing.
Speaker 9 (08:28):
I have to face me right, Yeah, walk into a
room full of mirrors and go, I gotta go. Right.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
Do you still put pressure on yourself yeah? Creatively, Yeah,
to do what to.
Speaker 9 (08:41):
Write good songs and and and get good vocals and
that stuff. Entertain well whatever that is for me, grab
a mic and walk out and sing. But no, all
the above.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
How have you not had to change keys of your
song while performing? It feels like you're singing the same
key it is.
Speaker 9 (08:58):
Yeah, I do it. I'm not gonna I'm not going
to give it into that one. I think some of
that's just mental for the people.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
Yeah, like they feel that they can't hit the notes
they used to hit, so they just give up.
Speaker 9 (09:08):
And yeah, they get a little squeak every now and
then it's like, oh, this is all age, or later
it's you know, maybe it is, but you know so
far knock on wood, it's not not for me.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
Was there ever a dynamic with you and kicks Toe?
I was like, Okay, who's going to sing this part
of this song? Was the ever that awkward?
Speaker 9 (09:22):
And that's at first, yeah, big time, for for the
longest time, for for like a few first few years.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
Who decides that if it's one one b one?
Speaker 9 (09:29):
Well, early early on, like way early on, Tim, when
Tim Dubois was running Aristo over there during the day
we were coming out with the first records or so Tim,
Tim just we were talking one day and I think
we've had this four number ones in a row, and Uh.
I talked to Tim and said, what are we gonna
do for like there's I said, there's there's five, five
or six singles on this record, and he goes, yeah, uh,
(09:50):
And that's back when we weren't worried so much about
you know, you get three three songs and you're out,
So uh, Tim, Tim said no. He said, we're gonna
where We're gonna settle the is. Let Kicks do the
every fourth song. And then that went on for a
while and then the Kicks was cool. He goes, no,
I don't know if he didn't feel like we had
that fourth song in there. He goes, no, you take
(10:11):
it and go from there. Are we go to a
new record. But we've been able to, i mean, mitigate
that stuff along the way.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
There was one point where, because you know, Eddie and
I are in a wild the successful comedy duo called
The Raging Idiots, where I was like.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
Do you need to sing more? And Eddie's like, nobody
wants to hear me sing, even though he's a better singer.
He's like, nobody came to true. He's like, nobody came
to hear me sing. I'm like, but you're the better singer.
He's like, but I'm not going to sing because nobody
wants to hear me sing. So we had the opposite
of that.
Speaker 9 (10:33):
Yeh, funny, that's what you used to tell Kicks. That's
how I like finally pulled it off. Like I said,
no wants to come hear you sing, Kicks.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
I had a friend that won auction to have a
deal at your house where you played music for them
the other night.
Speaker 9 (10:48):
Oh really, yeah I did that.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
She wanted it was her real.
Speaker 9 (10:52):
That's an odd feeling.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Yeah, And I saw them because I had to go
back home to Mountain Pine. But he was like, hey,
do you want to come over to Ronnie Dun's house.
We just want to auction. We're flying it from Florida
to watch them perform. And I was like, I can't.
But then I saw his Instagram story and it's like
you and your barn with people sitting around.
Speaker 9 (11:07):
Yeah, they've gone in and completely like they did all
the things that I wanted to do before I left,
you know. And I kind of looked around and went,
you know what, I'm gonna spend another fortune redoing this
house and this property. So anyway, sold it to a
great guy and they've done all the cool redecorating things
to it, so.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
That barn is not where you live now, No, that's
where you used to live. Yeah, is already to put
the hot air balloon up? Yeah you still have that.
Speaker 9 (11:33):
I was giving him grief about that. Yeah, we do
have it, man.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
They we called have a hot air balloon. With your
name on it and you drive up to the house.
That's what it says.
Speaker 9 (11:40):
It's huge, you know. I kind of felt like it was.
It was naked pulling in there till like an event
because we'd always took it out in the front yard
and lighted up so people could know where to come
because you couldn't really see the gatelights, and so.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
Any animals out there, Yeah, do you camera your woods?
Speaker 9 (11:55):
I do?
Speaker 5 (11:56):
What do you see out there?
Speaker 9 (11:57):
Everything? Like bobcats us too.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
We put up a yeah, bobcats and coyotes.
Speaker 9 (12:02):
Yeah, Kyle's like mad, Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
We had an issue with fox with some foxes, and
so we try to get somebody to catch the foxes
and trap them and then put them back out in
different woods, like make them somebody else's problem, but not
kill them.
Speaker 9 (12:15):
Yeah, they're talking like six hundred miles away, and then
two days later they'll show back up.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
Yeah, So we're like, let's just get rid of them.
I don't put them in a neighbor's backyard. I don't care.
But then coyotes and bobcats started coming and killing the foxes.
Speaker 9 (12:25):
How about that?
Speaker 5 (12:25):
And then we were like, let's kill the them that
don't care.
Speaker 9 (12:27):
As much.
Speaker 5 (12:28):
I'm like, shoot them, shootcats. I don't even care as much.
Speaker 9 (12:30):
Your in Tennessee.
Speaker 5 (12:32):
Right, Do you hunt on your property at all?
Speaker 9 (12:35):
Very rarely, very rarely. I have friends, you know, if
you have land that even it resembles something you can
hunt on, they're they're your best friends.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
Do you have a duck hut?
Speaker 9 (12:43):
They only do it around hunting season. That's time to
hear it from them.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
Oh, it's like having a pool in the summertimes.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
People call like, hey, buddy and my friend, you got
a pool, if you got a land, what's up?
Speaker 5 (12:54):
Run seen any deers?
Speaker 9 (12:57):
Deer deers? Yeah, that's that's snare. Which about duck duck hunting? Yeah,
I go down to Louisiana, Uh with a friend has
his own island down there called Little Pecan. It's unbelievable.
Speaker 10 (13:11):
Friends with them you're around though, yeah?
Speaker 9 (13:13):
Or only duck season, Yeah, but you can, yes, right,
it used to be years ago. We've been doing this
for like sixteen years. It used to be, well, hey,
I'll call you, don't call me, okay, because I got
all these He runs like that. It's not a commercial place,
it's private. He's in the oi business. But uh, he
runs like three hundred and sixty something people through their year.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
Nuts, do you have any billionaire friends? That's cool? You
that ain't true? Two? Do you really have any billionaire friends?
Speaker 9 (13:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (13:46):
That's cool.
Speaker 11 (13:48):
Who right?
Speaker 5 (13:51):
We were all waiting then, yohoo, okay.
Speaker 9 (13:53):
I heard that extracted light back there.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
Do you ever pay like that? Do you ever pay
for the meal if you're at dinner with a billionaire friends? Yeah?
Speaker 9 (13:59):
Yeah, I'm not going to do you know, go that?
I mean if yeah, nine times out of ten. But
I'm bad about that anyway. I feel guilty about That's true,
being a dinner with somebody and I pulling my card out. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:08):
We've had that fight before. Yeah, off, and I win
because I'm younger and stronger. Oh, you win that fight
every time. Look at us, How do you think win's physically?
We went to eat in town, so I can't name
the restaurant. Kenny uh, people lined up getting his autograph.
I'm sitting really really first.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Of all autograph pictures of me.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
Yes, it was pictures.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
And it was hilarious because here we are at dinner,
me my wife, him his wife, and we kind of
feel like there are like life mentors. Ronnie and his
wife because she's also from Oklahoma. My wife loves her,
and Ryan's okay.
Speaker 9 (14:44):
To me, but they're both like sonic joonkies.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
Yes. Yeah. And then people are coming up, Hey can
I get a picture? And Ronnie's just sitting there across
the table. I don't say anything, but I think it's hilarious.
Speaker 7 (14:53):
You didn't make Ronnie take the picture, did you?
Speaker 5 (14:55):
No, I've done it.
Speaker 9 (14:56):
We should go to Mexico with three but real quickn
we get to get out here but with Riva and
stuff and hang out. She had a great place down
there in Cancun. And get off the plane and people
run up to Rima and I'm standing right there with
her whatever. I don't I don't think about this, but
it's funny to me. Uh. And they will hand me
the cameras to just take a picture, and she would
(15:19):
look back at me. Find she was sensitive to the
to the issue and she goes with that TV show.
It really really ramped up my.
Speaker 10 (15:28):
Her red hair.
Speaker 5 (15:29):
Oh yeah, we're still making it feel good. You're a
star man. Ronnie done. And we'll get the new record
out early next year. Ronnie done. Everybody much.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
We got an update on my friendship bracelet situation. Last
week you heard during the CMAS I gave a country
artist a friendship bracelet with my phone number on it,
and ever since y'all have been wanting all kinds of updates.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
So we did have some updates. I shared an update.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
And then Abby and Ray also came in and charing
some things that they saw. So just a lot here,
a lot happening in this friendship bracelet situation.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Number six, Morgan, how are you?
Speaker 8 (16:12):
I'm good?
Speaker 5 (16:13):
Yeah, you've heard. He looks shocked. Have you heard anything
from Dustin Lynch? No, I have none. I didn't tell
her we're gonna do this segment till right now.
Speaker 10 (16:21):
What's happening?
Speaker 11 (16:21):
Nothing?
Speaker 4 (16:22):
Well, I just have a couple kind of mid mid
dates updates, but gott all the way up just mid
So Morgan shot or shot with Dustin Lynch. Then the
label reached out and they were like, we want to
send him on a date. But they were like, do
we want.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
To do it? Is that Scooba?
Speaker 4 (16:35):
What's the latest on the label saying they want to
Sendustin Lynch and Morgan on an airplane date?
Speaker 5 (16:38):
Nothing new since we've last talked about it, So here
we are. So let me do a couple mid dates. Abby,
you go first.
Speaker 12 (16:46):
Okay, this was so weird. This happened last week, like
during all of this, right after you gave the bracelet
to him. I went to a CMA party and there
were a whole bunch of artists performing at it. And
I walk in and guess he's on stage?
Speaker 13 (16:57):
Dustin?
Speaker 5 (16:58):
Is he learned the bracelet? Her braselt Well, no he
was not. Huh Oh I didn't know that.
Speaker 12 (17:02):
Yeah, I know he wasn't. But he was seeing stars
like confetti. And I was like, okay, this is so weird,
Like what are the odds of this?
Speaker 5 (17:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 12 (17:12):
And then guess what happens. The girl in the front
row handsome something in it is a friendship bracelet with
her number on it, and he was like, oh, a
friendship bracelet with your number? Okay, and then you just
like changed the subject and I was like, okay, so
did like Morgan? Is he getting bombarded by bracelets?
Speaker 11 (17:29):
Now?
Speaker 5 (17:30):
Well maybe I don't know if if it's I mean,
Travis Kelsey.
Speaker 7 (17:35):
Is, yeah, but Taylor, But but yes, I told you guys,
it was unoriginal.
Speaker 5 (17:40):
This is what everyone's gonna do now, but it doesn't
matter if it's original or not. You don't have to
do something completely.
Speaker 7 (17:45):
Well, yeah, now Morgan's just like all the other girls
giving him fresh friendship bracelets.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
But does he like Morgan better? Because a lot of
people ask people out, you don't like everybody else wants
somebody out?
Speaker 4 (17:55):
Do they like you though to want to go out
with you? So what is your What do you think
about the whole situation there?
Speaker 12 (18:01):
Like what happened there?
Speaker 8 (18:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (18:03):
And then well, I feel like, I.
Speaker 12 (18:05):
Mean, Morgan may have started something because she was one
of the first ones that did it, but I don't know.
I feel like he should have texted her. That's all
I'm going to say.
Speaker 5 (18:12):
Okay, that's all she wants to say at this point.
Speaker 12 (18:14):
I feel like he should have Yeah, it shouldn't go
to anybody else, right, Like he should have said anything.
Like his thoughts are just like.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
Hey, the record can reach out, but again they made
Dustin could also think it's a bit that we're doing
and not think it's real the same way we think
it's So I'm giving him that benefit of the doubt.
Speaker 5 (18:31):
Raymundo, you have some news.
Speaker 6 (18:33):
Yeah, I mean I guess it's really if Morgan really
wants to hear it, it's just oh y what ever?
Speaker 10 (18:38):
Okay? Oh right, Well when he prefaces it that way,
does Morgan ask her on the radio does she.
Speaker 6 (18:45):
Want to hear some private Well, I mean about what
it's about is he has a chick. I do have
some sources on it, so I'm not just totally just
bringing this out here.
Speaker 5 (18:54):
I mean, right, does have so Mark?
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Before you believe this, Morgan, don't believe it yet. Go ahead,
don't don't say who it is?
Speaker 9 (19:02):
All right?
Speaker 6 (19:03):
She's from a TV show. Yeah, she's from a TV show,
from a popular show. And so if I tell it's
kind of gonna give away who it is. But Dustin
was supposed to play a wedding and then that wedding
never happened, and so this relationship has started. He's friends
with this person. And then this person came to CMA
Awards week and didn't walk the red carpet with him.
(19:24):
But because she's a celebrity on the TV, she's a
reality star, she was able to walk the carpet and
it just looked like she was walking the carpet because
she's walking the carpet because she's famous, not because she's
with Dustin Lynch. And then she stayed in town the
whole time she was with with Dustin. I don't believe
they're necessarily sitting together at the award show. But I
mean the fact that he was supposed to play at
her wedding. They kept in touch for eight months, and
(19:46):
then at her wedding she was getting married. Y, yeah
she was.
Speaker 11 (19:50):
You know, I picked it up on his clues.
Speaker 5 (19:53):
But here's the thing.
Speaker 7 (19:54):
Oh, I don't know that.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
I won't say too much money. I don't think you're
right because I know something.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
About that person that says you know.
Speaker 6 (20:06):
Oh, oh, I mean she could be with multiple people.
I have no idea, I got it. Yeah, I don't
think we're talking about the same person. Oh, hey, trust me,
we are, no or not. You don't know my people,
Trust me, we are.
Speaker 5 (20:20):
What's going on here?
Speaker 10 (20:21):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (20:22):
But yeah, I just I didn't want Morgan to get
all hurt. But I really do think he has a chick.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
If it's the same person that you think it is,
let me let me talk. We're in to have a
secret button. We can talk privately. Okay, it is same person. Yeah,
she's Yeah, she makes another, dude, it's not dust Yeah.
Speaker 10 (20:39):
I just thought the day you saw it, like with
your eyebass.
Speaker 5 (20:42):
I didn't, but a friend did, so who do So
who's the better source?
Speaker 8 (20:46):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (20:46):
You gotta trust me because I don't have sort. I don't.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
I don't care about this stuff. And it wasn't even
about Morgan. Someone was like, hey, I don't. I can't
give away too much, but trust me, I do know
that's not dust that's not Dustin's girl, all right now,
I don't know if it was ever.
Speaker 10 (21:01):
Can I guess who it is to you?
Speaker 5 (21:04):
Well?
Speaker 3 (21:04):
No, I think I know who it is.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Yeah, I mean that's not current. Okay, that's not current.
I don't know if it was past, but it's not current.
I'm telling you it's not current. So there we have.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
That's all the information. Dustin has not reached out to Morgan's.
It's Morgan asked him out. The label has reached out
to us sand Dustin and Morgan on an airplane date. But
then we're like, why would the label reach out? Is
that just for promotion? But he doesn't really need the
promotion right now. But then also maybe he just thinks
it's a bit and doesn't think it's real, so he's
having them do that.
Speaker 10 (21:29):
I do.
Speaker 5 (21:29):
We don't know.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
That's where we are. Do not take too much of
what Ray's saying. I can tell you for a fact.
Don't take too much of it.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Okay, No, it's okay, listen. I'm just riding this wave
right now. Like I did it. I'm still proud of myself.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
I told you guys, regardless of the outcome, I'm very
proud of myself.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
So good for you. I agree. Okay, everybody good.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Yep, yeah you can what I saw it.
Speaker 12 (21:48):
Like his last posts, there were a whole bunch of
people like posting or commenting Morgan and they're like, take
Morgan on a date.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Yeah, I'm like, I don't know what help let's go.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
It does?
Speaker 7 (21:57):
It helps a ton forgot? Okay, case you even got.
We're encouraging them, Hey, you're doing that.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
We're not encourage them to not do it. I like that,
all right.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
It's the best bits of the week with Morgan. Number two.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
We did a draft this week of the best Bobby
Bone Show guests, and everybody had a different interpretation of
this draft, which always gets super interesting because we kind
of get mad at each other when we're not all
thinking the same way, and that's what happened.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
But we did have a winner and we did have
a loser.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
So I'll tell you after you hear this draft so
that we can stay updated for the next draft.
Speaker 11 (22:35):
Number five.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
All right, let's do it. It's Bobby Bone Show Draft.
You're just drafting the best Bobby Bone Show guests. I
don't even care what in your mind how you get there,
but amy you go first, because you rolled, you're number
on the dice.
Speaker 5 (22:47):
Go ahead, I'm going.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Luke Bryan.
Speaker 10 (22:50):
He is really good, always has funny stories, great laugh
and normally normally brings gifts.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
He brought enough espressover expresscorn. That was a long time,
A long time. Yeah, it's been a bit.
Speaker 11 (23:04):
Yeah, I don't remember bringing me a gift.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
Okay, Luke Bryan, you're number one guest on the show. Okay, lunchbox.
Speaker 11 (23:11):
Uh Dolly Parton.
Speaker 5 (23:15):
How many times has Dolly been on a couple?
Speaker 11 (23:17):
Yeah, like a couple.
Speaker 5 (23:19):
She's always great. Next week, I think, yeah, this week,
maybe the end of this week.
Speaker 14 (23:25):
Okay, she's very nice, personable, like, she's very nice a
person Yes, she's great.
Speaker 5 (23:30):
Eddie the only.
Speaker 7 (23:32):
Guest that has walked in and I've been like, this
is crazy. I mean I did that a couple of
times actually, but Taylor Swift is on my list. I
mean when she came in, it was like, it's freaking
Taylor Swift.
Speaker 5 (23:42):
It was amazing. It's been a long time, it's been
a bit. So you went with the one power because
she only been on once one.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Time, so you went to one power shot instead of
like best guests frequently bowot Taylor Swift.
Speaker 11 (23:53):
Was she amazing or was she just a big guest?
Speaker 5 (23:56):
She was amazing and she's amazing.
Speaker 10 (23:58):
Now I just now I see that we're all have
we all have different.
Speaker 5 (24:01):
Criteria, Yeah, which is why I wanted to give nobody
any criteria. Morgan done something.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
This one's been talked about a lot, and it's similar
criteria with Eddies.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
It's John Mayer. I mean that interview was insane.
Speaker 7 (24:16):
Okay, Okay, scratch that off.
Speaker 11 (24:20):
I should pay attention when people come.
Speaker 5 (24:21):
In because he's like, I didn't know how people came
in the amount of people.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
Okay, So I get it, John, I don't know that
I have put him on there.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
It was great for me, but I don't know it
was awesome.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
It still talked about like people still repost it.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
Okay, Morgan, you get the first pick of the second round.
Go ahead, Oh it's Ray, right Garth. You can also
list it as G.
Speaker 5 (24:43):
No, just ge G sounds good.
Speaker 11 (24:45):
Just put on G.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
He said it. You heard the man, don't just put G. Okay, Ray,
go a second again.
Speaker 6 (24:54):
The guy that we always say is the best guest ever,
why would we not put him?
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Jake Owen, That's who I would have picked up the
best guest.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
That was a steal. Thanks guys in the second round by.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
The same category.
Speaker 5 (25:09):
Yeah yeah, yeah, same category. I would just say that, yeah, yeah,
but hey, we all have it.
Speaker 9 (25:16):
Okay, go ahead.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Morgan always highly entertained when this guy comes in, or
just any time in general he's around.
Speaker 9 (25:21):
It's jelly roll.
Speaker 5 (25:23):
Yeah, he's been a good guest in the last couple
of years. It's been a really good guest. Okay, Eddiepp,
Taylor Swift, who you want to add? Guys?
Speaker 7 (25:29):
We had Kenny Rogers in here and it was unbelievable,
the late Kenny Rodgers.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Are you going mostly for people? Just seeing your people?
Of course, it's more so than knowing him as guests?
Speaker 5 (25:39):
And then look at the name.
Speaker 7 (25:40):
Do you when you see the list of my name
is on there, it's gonna be amazing.
Speaker 5 (25:43):
Lunchbox.
Speaker 11 (25:45):
Uh okay, that's tough.
Speaker 14 (25:48):
Yeah, I mean a great guest that does some cool
things in here.
Speaker 11 (25:56):
Man, I don't know.
Speaker 14 (25:56):
If he's ash, give me, I'll go. Brett Eldridge, it's good. Yeah,
he's been really good. Does some fun things with the show,
like what like what what does his Christmas show?
Speaker 11 (26:09):
He sings? I mean, so yeah, I think that's very entertaining.
Speaker 5 (26:15):
Amy, George Straight, he walked in here for a sect. Yeah,
he was in here for like two second away datus
as he wants.
Speaker 10 (26:24):
Uh no, I was interviewing him on the phone. Meanwhile
he was in the hall on his cell phone and
he walked in and surprised me and person a bit.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
And I'll never forget it.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
So Amy has Luke, Brian and George Straight. His best
Bobby Bone show guests.
Speaker 5 (26:36):
Not bad, they're all pretty good. I mean to come out,
I'm dominated Amy, you get one more.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
Luke Bryan, George Strait Andrita.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
Is a great guest for sure. Lunchbucks you have Dolly,
Brett Eldridge and.
Speaker 7 (26:51):
Yeah, oh he's googling Bobby Bone show guests. Oh boy,
we're in trouble.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (26:59):
Supposed to goog during the game, but I'll out at
this time.
Speaker 11 (27:01):
I mean, you want to know what comes up though?
Speaker 14 (27:04):
Is uh Bobby Lunchbox, Amy Eddie and it just names
the people on the show.
Speaker 5 (27:09):
I'll pick them. Pick one of them.
Speaker 11 (27:11):
No, guess, goodness, who has been in here? That's amazing? Gosh?
Oh man, who is fun?
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Oh?
Speaker 11 (27:22):
You know who people like when you come they come in?
I mean I don't know.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
Okay, did you gotta pick somebody? Five seconds?
Speaker 11 (27:30):
Ah, dang it? Give me Darius Rucker.
Speaker 9 (27:35):
Got it?
Speaker 5 (27:35):
Good one, real Dad, good one. Good Man's Darious, Eddie,
Taylor Swift and Kenny Rodgers power. Don't say Johnny Cash
because he's never been on this.
Speaker 7 (27:45):
He's never been here. He's never been here. No, this
is gonna get everyone. Everyone's gonna love this.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
Pick it's Amy's psychic cousin.
Speaker 11 (27:55):
Come on, Oh, they love.
Speaker 7 (27:57):
It when she's on here. I don't know who does
a lot of people?
Speaker 5 (28:02):
Okay, I do like it's an interesting angle. Yeah, thank you,
definitely Morgan. You have John Mayer and Jelly Roll.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
Yeah, and there is this person has been in a lot,
but he also came in one time with his wife.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
I'm going Tim McGraw, Faith Hill.
Speaker 5 (28:15):
Wait, you can't do both.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
They came in time.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
If they came in booked together, you can do both.
They did. Wait, there's no criteria.
Speaker 11 (28:24):
There's two people.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
But if they came in, it's the same guest, because
you would say a whole band, like to say the Turnpike.
Speaker 5 (28:29):
Tuba Doors, but they're not a band.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
Tim and Faith did a whole record together and did
a whole show together promoting their show.
Speaker 5 (28:34):
Damn, that's good.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
And they did come in together.
Speaker 7 (28:37):
And they did a good loophole there, Morgan, this whole
game's loophole, guys, Ray Mundo.
Speaker 6 (28:43):
Yeah, it's time of thinking Amy's ex husband. But he
was only on I believe one time. It was a
good segment though, go back and listen to it. Hey,
what about Dustin Lynch and then also Dustin Lynch and
his parents?
Speaker 4 (28:53):
That's true, him and his mom and dad came in. Yeah,
Dustin Lynch and parents.
Speaker 6 (28:58):
I'm hoping by picking this person will beyond more. I'm
gonna go with Caitlin Bobby's wife.
Speaker 5 (29:04):
That's a good one. No, won't you have the Caause
Studio A few times you were you were the game
against John Party and Summer.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
She's been on the show from the house when we
would do it from there a few times.
Speaker 7 (29:20):
Lunchbrocks is doing Crossbord buzzes on tuned Out Dune.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
Yea, all right, Well, here are our teams. Amy has
Luke Bryan, George Straight and Riba Solid.
Speaker 10 (29:27):
Thanks.
Speaker 4 (29:28):
Lunchbox has Dolly Brett Eldridge and Darius Rutger Solid. Eddie
has Taylor Swift, Kenny Rodgers and Amy Psychic cousin come
pretty good. Morgan has John Mader, Jelly Roll and Tim
and Faith and Ray has Garth Brooks, Jacob and my
wife Caitlin.
Speaker 5 (29:42):
Ye it's tough. It's a tough one.
Speaker 11 (29:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (29:44):
I mean, it's so interesting because it's and people aren't
evenna remember that Kenny Rodgers was on the show.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
They may not remember all that, but they know the
name and he was on the show. Eddie's whole bet
is they know the name. That's right.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
Okay, thank you everyone, great job. Go vote to Bob
Bones dot com on the group of guests on this
show you like the best.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
All right, So our winner of the draft was Amy
and she was Team one, and Eddie was the loser
of this draft and he was Team three, I believe.
So yeah, Eddie will be out next round. And Amy
currently has the belt on her desk. It's getting passed
her on the studio a lot lately. But coming in
at this number four spot, we have Lunchbox, who really
(30:33):
thought that he caught me doing something crazy during an
interview with Landy Wilson, which I would love to say
that anybody who listens to the Best of Bits.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
Has probably heard me do this before.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
Sometimes when I'm talking to people and I get really excited,
or if they come in and they have a certain accent,
it kind of just comes out of me. So I
also am a very country girl.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
You may have never known that.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
I've never really talked about like my lifestyle growing up,
per se.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
It's never really been a topic of gomversation.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
But I am a good old country girl from Kansas.
So I'll preface those two things before we dive into
this part. Before you hear Lunchbox calling me out number.
Speaker 5 (31:10):
Four, I mean, define poser for our listeners.
Speaker 10 (31:13):
Well, someone that's pretending to be something that they're not
so that they feel better. They might be a little
insecure about something, but if they pose, might feel better.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
Who do we think is calling somebody a poser? Who
do we think is calling somebody out just I don't
know instinct.
Speaker 7 (31:30):
Says Lunchbox. Well that's true to somebody out correct. So Lunchbox,
who are you calling a poser?
Speaker 11 (31:36):
Morgan? Morgan's an absolute poser?
Speaker 5 (31:38):
Because do you know this? Morgan?
Speaker 3 (31:40):
No, I have no idea.
Speaker 10 (31:40):
What.
Speaker 11 (31:41):
Okay, do you hear Morgan talk?
Speaker 5 (31:42):
I don't know. Let me say it, Morgan. How's your
day going?
Speaker 3 (31:44):
My day's going great.
Speaker 5 (31:45):
Yeah? Anything interesting happened in the last couple of days?
Speaker 13 (31:49):
No, just hung out with my dog, hung up some
Christmas trees.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
I lived a good life, all right?
Speaker 5 (31:54):
Love it? I did hear talk?
Speaker 9 (31:55):
Then?
Speaker 11 (31:55):
Yeah? Did you hear a real deep Southern accent?
Speaker 14 (31:58):
Like she's from Alabama or Mississippi or somewhere Kansas.
Speaker 5 (32:01):
He has almost no accent.
Speaker 14 (32:03):
It's weird because when she's interviewing Landy Wilson last week,
all of a sudden, she's from the deep style. So
she can sail on Mike Laney Wilson. Maybe Landy Wilson.
Speaker 11 (32:10):
Will be impressed and be friends with her.
Speaker 14 (32:12):
I mean, it's unbelievable all of a sudden, Oh, I'm
from there too.
Speaker 11 (32:16):
Well, it's crazy.
Speaker 5 (32:18):
I've not heard this. This is not good.
Speaker 11 (32:19):
If it's true, it's like, so oh, just listen, it's true.
Speaker 5 (32:22):
Okay, before we I haven't heard it either.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
Sometimes he makes a big deal about something and it's
not Morgan, what do you know.
Speaker 5 (32:28):
Say anything before I play it.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
I am like, I have a very country family, so
there is a side of me that is very country.
Speaker 11 (32:35):
Times you guys heard that hold on in all the
years you've known her.
Speaker 13 (32:37):
Hold on.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
When I went to college, I took classes to make
sure that if I was going into journalism that I
spoke very clearly. So I do have some slang that
comes out like country.
Speaker 5 (32:52):
This is fine.
Speaker 8 (32:53):
Lunch is one you're around someone that when I.
Speaker 5 (32:57):
Go back home, I'm tired, or if I'm just tired
now out huh thicker than it already is.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
Okay, here's Morgan talking to Lany Wilson. Apparently my note
here from lunchboxes. You can hear a voice normal at
the top, and she fades into country accidents as it
goes Okay, go ahead.
Speaker 13 (33:12):
I'm rooting for you in every aspect. Does it feel
weird too?
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Because you have listen, you have women who want to
be you and men who want to date you.
Speaker 13 (33:20):
Like there is no in between?
Speaker 10 (33:22):
Hey, are you like?
Speaker 8 (33:24):
Dang?
Speaker 2 (33:24):
I kind of got my pick right now, But I
mean you're in a relationship obviously, But you know what
I mean.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
Feel crazy?
Speaker 5 (33:30):
Oh my god, I thought that was Landy talking.
Speaker 13 (33:36):
That's definitely not intentional.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
I really promised you. It wasn't like I did not
know this happened.
Speaker 10 (33:44):
Do you hear that?
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Though I'm here, I really like, that's.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
Just my voice. My daddy hold on.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
My dad even listened to this interview and did not
pick up on anything. He just like, that's how he
knows me. So that tells you.
Speaker 4 (33:57):
Is Lane even talking in that don't? Yeah she is,
because I couldn't tell the difference.
Speaker 5 (34:01):
We hear it again? Yeah, it's a oh man, Okay,
here we go.
Speaker 13 (34:06):
I'm rooting for you in every aspect. Does it feel
weird too?
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Because you have listen, you have women who want to
be you and men who want to date you.
Speaker 13 (34:14):
Like there is no in between?
Speaker 3 (34:16):
Hey, are you like dang?
Speaker 2 (34:18):
I kind of got my pick right now. But I
mean you're in a relationship obviously, but you know what
I mean? Does that feel crazy?
Speaker 7 (34:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (34:24):
Lanny only said one thing. Hey, the rest of that
was Morgan.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
That just sounds like my voice to me.
Speaker 11 (34:31):
She goes, doesn't it feel normal? She goes, doesn't it?
Speaker 14 (34:34):
And then crazy? Like like it was all normal then.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
I mean, like if you thought I was doing that intentionally,
it was not like that was really just my voice.
Speaker 10 (34:43):
I don't know what to think here.
Speaker 5 (34:44):
It's funny though, that is funny.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
Yeah, Mike, what you what'd you say that?
Speaker 2 (34:50):
That's when I heard the first one too, Like I
could not do that again if I tried.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
That's just like.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
It's also sometimes when you're around people that it picks
up on.
Speaker 14 (34:59):
Things out for like thirty seconds when you're around so someone,
all was sudden your voice changes.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
No, if I go back home and I'm around my family,
that does come out.
Speaker 11 (35:06):
It's like you can go to Hawaii for two days
you come back to.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
No, it's because that's already in me.
Speaker 11 (35:10):
I can't help you, guys, I was around people.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
No, it's because that's already in me. The country is
already in me.
Speaker 5 (35:15):
How long were you sitting on that bet to bring us?
Speaker 10 (35:17):
Oh?
Speaker 14 (35:18):
I was sitting on her for a few days. I
was like, man, this is great. I just want to
hold it till everybody thinks it's died down. No one,
She thinks no one noticed, like I got away with it.
Speaker 5 (35:25):
You don't notice anything more?
Speaker 8 (35:26):
No.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
I generally that just sounds like my voice a you know,
sometimes when I get excited and talk to people, my
slang does come out more when I'm excited, casual, having
a fun conversation.
Speaker 11 (35:37):
Guys, has she ever had a fun conversation on the show?
Speaker 5 (35:39):
Apparently not?
Speaker 14 (35:40):
Apparently not because that slang has never come out? How
many years you worked here?
Speaker 5 (35:43):
Six?
Speaker 9 (35:44):
Seven?
Speaker 12 (35:45):
All?
Speaker 3 (35:45):
Seven?
Speaker 6 (35:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (35:46):
Has never come out?
Speaker 5 (35:48):
Coming on? We'll retire it.
Speaker 13 (35:53):
I mean, it's cute.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
It's a cute accident.
Speaker 5 (35:55):
But Lane never talks except for how is liked? Here
we go.
Speaker 13 (36:00):
I'm rooting for you in every aspect. Does it feel
weird too?
Speaker 2 (36:03):
Because you have listen, you have women who want to
be you and men who want to date you, like
there is no in between?
Speaker 13 (36:11):
Are you like?
Speaker 5 (36:12):
Dang?
Speaker 13 (36:12):
I kind of got my pick right now, But you
know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (36:16):
If that feel it's like the moon's full and.
Speaker 10 (36:19):
We want to make you guys. It's just my for
you guys that want to date you.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
It's funny, like can we can we call my dad
and he can testify.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
I swear like we heard it.
Speaker 5 (36:32):
We heard it. We'll retire the clip.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
But I couldn't make it up.
Speaker 10 (36:36):
I try. You interviewed Luke Bryan that same day, right
and has like a you know, Southern draw, like did
you do it with him?
Speaker 2 (36:45):
I don't know if I would, because I do know
Laney a little bit better, like Lane and I kind
of know each other, so it's like fair monks.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
It's like, but like, do you guys think I was
faking it?
Speaker 5 (36:59):
No? No, no, no in a moment, yeah, and you're
having fun with her your life.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
It's the best bits of the week With Morgan number.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
Two, we may have a new winner for road rage
on our show. Eddie was the king of road rage,
but now it seems Scuba Steve has taken that position.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
After something happened. Though I will say most.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Of you listeners did agree with the rant that he
went on. Now you may not have agreed with his
road rage, but you agreed with the rant that he
had after said road rage, so you can be sure
to check out that video, which apparently also he did
not want put up for reasons unbeknownst to me.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
I have no idea. Also, is that how you say
that phrase? I do not know. But here's Scuba Seeve getting.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
Some road ridge number three.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
Pretty soon we're going to do our driving test where
everybody takes tests. Bet driver is because there's a lot
of talk on the show that Amy can't drive, Morgan
can drive, Eddie road range right, Bobby.
Speaker 5 (37:53):
Drives too slow, all this. I've seen that one though.
Speaker 4 (37:57):
You've seen what I've held up traffic before where I'm
just like, I'm I'm mister mcg yeah, yeah, he's blind.
I don't know what's going on, but Lunchbox would like
to come in because you saw somebody else driving.
Speaker 14 (38:10):
I know, I was riding with this person in the car.
I was in the car and I was scared I
was gonna get shot. Why Because Scuba Steve is the
angriest driver I have ever seen in my life. I mean,
we pull up and we're gonna go right at the light,
and there's a car in front of us, and the
light turns green and they have their blinker on trying
to get back over.
Speaker 11 (38:28):
Left and Scuba.
Speaker 5 (38:29):
So they made a mistake.
Speaker 14 (38:30):
Yeah, instead Scuba, instead of having some any patience or whatever,
gets i mean inches from their bumper. And he he
didn't take his hand off.
Speaker 11 (38:44):
The horn the entire time, has his window down going.
Speaker 8 (38:47):
You better go right.
Speaker 5 (38:48):
He's yelling wow wow, and the horn is going you
do better, just turn.
Speaker 14 (38:57):
And I was just sitting there back there, going was
it a joke? And then I goes and goes, this
is the way I drive.
Speaker 11 (39:02):
I like this, and.
Speaker 14 (39:04):
I'm going, oh my gosh, please just oh my gosh,
oh my gosh, just like it was insane.
Speaker 5 (39:09):
Scoopa, s Davi. Any truth to this?
Speaker 15 (39:11):
So here's the PSA for anyone driving in their car
right now. Let's say you're on the freeway, you pass
your exit, don't come over seventeen lanes and cut people off.
Speaker 5 (39:19):
Did you get cut off?
Speaker 15 (39:21):
Or be the guy that gets in the media and
backs up and gets to your exit, go to the
next exit, turn back around and come over. Or in
this scenario, there's two lanes, you're going left, you're going right.
You this guy in front of us clearly was about
to make a right turn and last second goes, oh, crap,
I need.
Speaker 5 (39:36):
To go to the left. You ever done that?
Speaker 15 (39:38):
No, because what I do is I'm an educated adult,
and I go to the right and then I make
it turn back around and then I get to where
I need to go to. I don't mess with traffic.
I will do what needs to be done what's safe
for me. This doesn't sound safe how I handled it.
I know that sounds bad, but I was angry. It
was a long day, but since three am we did
all these CMA interviews, all my wife and kids who've
(39:58):
been bugging me to get home. And then idiot last
second wants to get to the left side and should
have just made the right turn. And I couldn't get
around him because he's the car. They're blocking it. It's
about to turn red. So I slammed my horn and
I'm like, dude, get over or make a right turn,
and he couldn't do either one of them, and so
I kept hitting the horn and I forced him to
make that right turn.
Speaker 5 (40:16):
What did you think the horn and the yelling was
going to do?
Speaker 9 (40:19):
What?
Speaker 5 (40:19):
It worked because he made that right turn. Did you
feel like it was safe? It was effective?
Speaker 15 (40:24):
I was with enough people in the car where if
things went down, we had been all right.
Speaker 5 (40:27):
Oh you't used him as human shields or what?
Speaker 15 (40:30):
No, my posse I got lunch, was pretty jazzed up,
ready to go. I think Kevin, I got pits in
the car. I got abby?
Speaker 5 (40:36):
Who was on my side?
Speaker 4 (40:37):
Do you think you should just be yelling at people though,
even if they mess up? And don't we all mess
up the road? And he has a big trunk, so's
it's a massive truck.
Speaker 11 (40:44):
That horn is a powerful I just.
Speaker 5 (40:48):
Removed from it. How do you feel about you in
that moment? If my kids in the car, I would
never have done that. I would have been like, crap,
this sucks. I'll just wait for the next light.
Speaker 15 (40:55):
But but but I was not with my kids, and
I was trying to get to my kids, and I
was annoyed and frustrated. And so that's just how I
handled it when I was over the day and I
wanted to get home and this guy was stupid and
couldn't just make a right turn.
Speaker 5 (41:05):
Are you ever stupid on the road?
Speaker 8 (41:06):
No?
Speaker 5 (41:07):
Because, like I said, if you never met accident it
was like sixteen.
Speaker 10 (41:11):
Okay, but not now as an adult, you never accidentally.
Speaker 5 (41:13):
Cuts I mean maybe you don't even know you are.
Speaker 15 (41:15):
No, I am super aware when I'm on the road.
I'm not on my phone. I'm watching the road. I'm
available for whatever it needs to be done. I have
my outs if there's an accident coming. I am the
best driver bar none.
Speaker 5 (41:26):
Okay, Scuba has so much pent up rage.
Speaker 11 (41:28):
He doesn't.
Speaker 4 (41:29):
I mean, Lunchbox is rage full, but it comes out.
Scuba doesn't really come out until all at once.
Speaker 15 (41:33):
I can see how Scuba I have a short temper
for stupidity and lack of common sense.
Speaker 5 (41:39):
But you're probably doing stupid things too, you just don't
know it.
Speaker 15 (41:44):
I'm pretty aware of what's going on, especially when it
comes to driving, because it's very important to be aware
when you're driving a vehicle.
Speaker 4 (41:48):
But people that are always like I don't like stupid people.
They're usually the stupidest ones. They just don't know when
they're stupid. They have no awareness that they're also doing
things maybe not in the same category.
Speaker 5 (41:55):
That's also pretty dumb.
Speaker 14 (41:57):
And then the crazy part was that goes, yeah, that's
how I handle that, Like, what are you talking about?
Speaker 5 (42:01):
Abby? What did you say? And what did you say?
She thought that the guy what the guy did was
stupid because it was she was saying to this though
she drives that guy up ahead.
Speaker 15 (42:08):
No, she didn't say that, She just goes. I hate
people when they do that kind of stuff too. She
was a accident. We all hate when we mess up.
Speaker 5 (42:13):
He was not an accident. That guy. I knew damn
right what he was doing. No, no, it was an accident.
Speaker 4 (42:17):
He did You think he got in the right lane
and purposefully went left or whatever.
Speaker 5 (42:22):
No, he made a mistake and pulled into the wrong lane.
And it was like, oh crap, I need to correct
us now that that was an accident. But then you
don't correct it by by holding a ball of traffic.
You correct it. But was holding up traffic or was
he not letting you go right on red? No he
was not.
Speaker 15 (42:33):
He was holding up traffic. I could not make my
right turn because he was blocking the lane. I could
make my right turn, and nor could the other forty
five cars behind me.
Speaker 5 (42:39):
How long was his total? Absolute total? Happened happening?
Speaker 15 (42:43):
So he was driving to make his right turn, he
was like, oh no, I don't want to make a hourn.
Speaker 5 (42:47):
I want to go and make a left now. Well,
it must have been like an hour or so. How
you're talking, so go ahead, holl was that.
Speaker 15 (42:51):
That whole scenario of him going driving down the road
and wanting to make that left turn that was probably
about maybe five or six seconds, and then he just stopped.
Speaker 4 (42:58):
He stopped in the lane. I didn't go in five
or six seconds. If you'd give another five or six seconds,
he probably would have moved on. No, he didn't unlock,
couldn't have felt unsafe.
Speaker 15 (43:05):
He couldn't have moved on because the left lane was
completely blocked with traffic. So he's now that that's blocking
bo or he's the person who messed up. But then
go right and then maybe he freaked out and he
didn't know what to do because he messed up so bad.
Speaker 10 (43:16):
Okay, let's this is I don't know that. This is
like trying to explain something to someone that doesn't want
to hear it. So it's okay, he no.
Speaker 5 (43:24):
I hear it. Okay, unless say, nobody got hurt and
we can learn from this. Of course, no one got hurt. No, no, no,
And we can learn from this. Yeah, you're right, are
you right? Abby? Did you fall unsafe?
Speaker 8 (43:34):
I mean a little bit.
Speaker 12 (43:35):
He was getting really mad, and.
Speaker 11 (43:38):
Then they turned then we turned, then we turned down.
Speaker 14 (43:39):
They turned down another road and we turned down the
same road.
Speaker 11 (43:41):
And we're like, oh my gosh.
Speaker 5 (43:42):
They yeah, for sure, they're freaking.
Speaker 15 (43:45):
On the road rate and learned the lesson to never
block traffic again and follow the follow the flow of
traffic like I'm sorry, man, great, learn lesson for them.
Speaker 5 (43:53):
Well, everybody, good morning.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
If we're having a positive day, we need.
Speaker 5 (43:57):
To take a few deep breaths, we'll take a big
d breath together. Yes, Scooba, don't let yours out, just
hold it, hold.
Speaker 3 (44:03):
It for a second.
Speaker 1 (44:05):
Really, it's the best bits of the week with Morgan.
Number two.
Speaker 2 (44:16):
Another big topic that's been happening this week, Eddie may
go to Turkey, like the country Turkey. No, like not
to a Turkey, but like the country Turkey and get
a hair transplant.
Speaker 3 (44:28):
Bobby has been saying that he is going.
Speaker 2 (44:29):
To pay for all of it if Eddie's willing to go,
and it's just been constant talk about it. How much
it's going to cost, How does Eddie feel, how does
his wife feel?
Speaker 3 (44:39):
Like there's a lot happening in this so this is
the latest.
Speaker 2 (44:43):
This is how he feels and how his wife feels
about it, which I will tell you are kind of different.
I thought they might be on the same page, but
she's more into it than he is in a way.
Speaker 3 (44:53):
So here we go.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
Here's Eddie and his hair transplant situation number two.
Speaker 4 (44:58):
I want to send Eddie to the Middle East. I
know Eddie at times can be self conscious because he's
been losing his hair. Amy had a guy on a
podcast that was like, Hey, a lot of these soccer
players they go over to the Middle East and they
get great hair transplant surgery, like David Beckham, like he
was balding all of a sudden.
Speaker 5 (45:13):
I've never seen better hair.
Speaker 10 (45:15):
Luscious, luscious.
Speaker 5 (45:16):
I won't run my hands through it himself. It's wet,
like Eddie, you gotta go.
Speaker 4 (45:20):
We run a budget on it all in for Eddie,
the hair transplant service, the surgery, the travel, the food,
and an accompany.
Speaker 7 (45:29):
I guess to accompany him. Correct ten thousand dollars and
whatever I don't spend I keep.
Speaker 11 (45:35):
Oh that's a good deal.
Speaker 5 (45:35):
How much money can you spend it? Bede None?
Speaker 7 (45:38):
See that's what see you're joking. But That's what I'm
worried about. So they're not gonna care about me.
Speaker 5 (45:43):
And so many callers that have called and said they've
done it. I got many done it ms.
Speaker 10 (45:48):
And then these footballers like they're not they soccer player,
I know, but there's they're European soccer players. They are ballers,
and they are like, like they have the money and
they're choosing to go to Turkey.
Speaker 5 (46:02):
So give me your thoughts.
Speaker 4 (46:04):
Were a few days from the me introducing this idea
of sending you to the Middle East, because if you
got to get it done, get it done right.
Speaker 7 (46:11):
I have a lot of different thoughts on this because
at first I'm like, no, this is my head, like
this is the way God made me.
Speaker 5 (46:17):
I'm going to just leave it the way it is.
Speaker 4 (46:19):
Well, then why would you brush your teeth? There's a
lot of things you do, throw cut your hair.
Speaker 5 (46:23):
We're talking about my hair. I know what even cut
your hair?
Speaker 7 (46:26):
And then I'm thinking at the same time, like you see,
I saw these pictures of David Beckham.
Speaker 5 (46:29):
It does look pretty good.
Speaker 7 (46:30):
And I've always wanted to do hairstyles like you guys like, oh,
I don't know people are doing fades.
Speaker 5 (46:35):
I want to do a fade. I haven't been able.
I'd love to see you in a fade, man, That's
what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (46:40):
Man.
Speaker 7 (46:40):
So it looks but here's the deal, Like Turkey, like
the Middle East. I've never been to Paris. Man on
my first trip overseas going to be Turkey.
Speaker 5 (46:50):
I don't know. I'm scared. What did your wife say?
At first?
Speaker 7 (46:54):
She was like, no, you're out of your mind, Like
what are you talking about?
Speaker 5 (46:58):
Right?
Speaker 7 (46:58):
And then I talked and then I showed her some
of the pictures of the footballers and she's like oh,
and she's like, well, that's kind of cool. And then
she had questions like what's the procedure, like what are
they doing?
Speaker 5 (47:07):
How much?
Speaker 7 (47:07):
How much cutting are they doing? Are they taking it
from your butt? Am I gonna see your butt hair
in the front of your head? Like all that stuff?
So she wants to learn more about it. So she
went from no, to let me learn more about it.
Speaker 5 (47:18):
So is she learning about it on her own? Well, yeah,
she's done some she's doing some research on her own.
Have you learned have you researched it at all? Zero?
But this is your head. You just went to a
whole thing about your head.
Speaker 7 (47:26):
But I feel like I have so many people on
my team like, you guys are on my team. You
want what's best for me and my wife.
Speaker 5 (47:32):
I want to send you to Turkey. That's hilarious.
Speaker 11 (47:34):
Yeah, so this is something you really want to do, dude?
Speaker 5 (47:36):
Like, yes, so why not get it done by the best?
Speaker 14 (47:37):
Right, I'm saying like I thought the balding didn't bother
any But if this is something deep down, this could
solve all your insecurities.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
Well not all, and it'll band aid them, but it
is not going to fix them. But if it's something
that you're super you are hat every day? Why do
you wear head every day?
Speaker 5 (47:52):
Because I'm balding? Right, I wear a hat too, Yeah,
and it's just part of It's part of me. It's
what I do every day.
Speaker 10 (47:58):
Right.
Speaker 5 (47:58):
But what wouldn't be nice if you had a fade?
Speaker 7 (48:01):
Yeah, dude, god, a mullet, like I want to look
like Morgan Waughan.
Speaker 11 (48:07):
Come, you don't know me here?
Speaker 5 (48:08):
Hey, well no I know, But put your hair in
a bun, A manun would be cool. Make I've always
wanted to have dreadlock. Wouldn't you love to be made?
Speaker 4 (48:16):
Wouldn't do that one? Wouldn't you love be made fun
of because you picked a bad hairstyle. I'd be sure
because sure, I thins you have hair.
Speaker 11 (48:22):
That's fine to do that. I mean telling me she
just shave it.
Speaker 5 (48:25):
Oh man, and you've got to do this, this is like,
go ahead.
Speaker 10 (48:27):
Well, I sent him a DM from a listener who
said one of their good friends is literally in Turkey
at this very moment for the procedure, so I could
get updates from her.
Speaker 5 (48:38):
I would love to talk to him. Yeah.
Speaker 10 (48:40):
And then also we have another mutual friend that works
in hair, like in La. She said, one of her
co workers at the salon went to Turkey for this, Like,
I think they might even be there right now too.
Speaker 7 (48:53):
Do we have anyone that went to Turkey and like
they died.
Speaker 8 (48:58):
From my hair?
Speaker 5 (48:59):
Well, they're not going to call in I don't know,
well a family member and I'm not gonna know them.
We don't ask for that. Well, I want all sides.
Speaker 7 (49:04):
I want the good and the bad YELP reviews before
I can make a decision.
Speaker 3 (49:08):
We did have a listener comment on our.
Speaker 2 (49:09):
Facebook Live don't run it, come on, there is a
situation that happened.
Speaker 3 (49:14):
I don't know the details of the Well.
Speaker 5 (49:15):
There's a situation happens everywhere.
Speaker 3 (49:17):
Well, let somebody does.
Speaker 13 (49:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (49:18):
I don't know if it was a hair transplant, but
they were in Turkey.
Speaker 5 (49:21):
Well that's just somebody in Turkey at people.
Speaker 13 (49:25):
Every day and it was about the hair transfort.
Speaker 5 (49:26):
So where's what we need ten thousand dollars?
Speaker 7 (49:28):
Okay, No, for I need safety. I need to know
this procedure. I need to know if I'm gonna be
okay if I.
Speaker 10 (49:33):
Do this, like, yeah, you do you even have to
get sedated.
Speaker 5 (49:36):
You probably just show up to get a massage.
Speaker 7 (49:38):
Just gonna cut my head with it a bullet, junk,
some whiskey and let's go caut you have head, let's
head of hair?
Speaker 11 (49:42):
Baby?
Speaker 5 (49:43):
What is this like Robin hood day? So here's what
we're gonna do.
Speaker 4 (49:46):
I want you to take a few days, do some research,
and if there I would love for someone to sponsor
Eddie's trip like we have like a spot the client
ten thousand bucks. Well you'll beat your logo beyond stuff.
Speaker 7 (49:59):
Oh that's cool. I mean this could lead to other sponsors.
Speaker 5 (50:02):
An They's Turkish hair trip provided.
Speaker 7 (50:06):
By what if this turns into like a hair endorsement,
Like what if like.
Speaker 6 (50:12):
Like a hair product products like shampoo commissioners or super
cuts has to get this is.
Speaker 10 (50:19):
An investment in your future.
Speaker 9 (50:20):
Yes, so just.
Speaker 5 (50:22):
Think about it, do the research. We'll check it back
in next week. Okay, Okay. We love you, we care
about you, we want safety for you. Most of we
want you to have a fade.
Speaker 7 (50:29):
See, I see, I'm not feeling like you're really caring
about me here, I do.
Speaker 5 (50:32):
I care about you very much, So.
Speaker 11 (50:34):
He really just cares about getting you the turkey.
Speaker 2 (50:36):
I know.
Speaker 5 (50:36):
For them bits, it's the.
Speaker 1 (50:38):
Best bits of the week with Morgan.
Speaker 2 (50:41):
Number two, the Icon, the Legend, the Queen herself, Miss
Dolly Parton was on our show this week, and of
course she's at our number one spot because not only
was she on the show, but she was on for
an entire hour and her stories are just some of
the best there is. She talked about why she gets
nervous asking other people to work on projects with her,
(51:02):
plus the first song she ever cut in what Happened
around that? And it's just great to hear from Dolly.
I swear I could listen to Dolly talk all day long.
She's so elegant and so poised, and I just wish
I could do that with my life.
Speaker 3 (51:15):
Like my entire life. So here's the full Dolly Parton interview.
Speaker 1 (51:19):
Number one, So Bobby Bones Show Interviews in case.
Speaker 5 (51:23):
You didn't know, I'm sure you know. But Dolly Parton,
we went to her place. We had this really long
hour long talk with her, which we're gonna play back
here and you can watch it too up at Bobbybones
dot com. But it's like, do I have to explain
Dollie Okay, Jolie.
Speaker 8 (51:38):
Here, Judy Jolly, Jolly, joey.
Speaker 4 (51:42):
But also this in that she has a new record
called Rockstar where she has a lot of massive stars
with her, singing like their big songs. You know, she's
Miley Cyrus's godmother, and this is her and Miley doing Wrecking.
Speaker 8 (51:53):
Ball come Back.
Speaker 4 (51:58):
I always love spending time with Dolly. Let's go with
Dolly Partner.
Speaker 5 (52:03):
The Friday Morning Conversation.
Speaker 7 (52:05):
It's Dolly Parton the.
Speaker 5 (52:06):
Songs that you chose to do because there are just.
Speaker 4 (52:09):
So many great songs in the world, period, but you
chose some of my favorite songs of all time. And
I was just talking to you about don't let the
song go down on me, Like, why did you pick
these songs specifically for this album?
Speaker 8 (52:19):
Well, I picked song that I love, and I picked
songs that my husband loved because he's the real rock
and roller and he was a big inspiration for doing
the album. But I picked this don't let the song
go down on me because I love Elon John. I
love his singing and I love his songs. And every
time we get together, we were always singing together and
it sounded good, and so I thought, well, I'm doing
(52:40):
this song on the album in hopes that he was
singing with me. So of course he said he would,
and so that this is a highlight on the album
for me because I love how he sound, and that's
just such a good song.
Speaker 4 (52:51):
The first time you guys sang together where how like,
that's just such a collision of awesomeness.
Speaker 8 (52:57):
You know what. We the first time we ever did
sing together, we were behind stage, actually he did. I
did a song, the song Imagine years ago. I was
on one of my albums, and he sang it with
me on the CMA Awards. He played the piano and
I singing, and so backstage though we were singing all
(53:17):
these great old country songs, he knew them. He knew
every country song in the world, those great songs like
Behind Closed Doors, he especially love that Make the World
Go Away and all that. So we'd start singing and
we just sounded so good together, and we said, you
know what, we got to do an album together someday,
and we never got around to that, and we're both
too old started now. But but I thought, well, I
(53:41):
did this song, I'm gonna see if he'll sing it
with me, and he he just was so nice, jumped
right at the chance, and I thought it turned out
pretty good.
Speaker 4 (53:49):
With this album being a rock record and it's called
rock Star, I'm friends with the president of the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame, and there was we won Dolly,
and then it was Dolly says she's not.
Speaker 5 (54:00):
Not really deserving to be because she didn't do rock music.
And then now, I mean, to me, the Rock ro
Hall of Fame was just if you do awesome.
Speaker 4 (54:07):
Music, like rock and roll is so just synonymous with great,
great music, doesn't matter the format to me, how much
of that was true to where you were, like, I
just don't think I deserve to be in how much
that was kind of.
Speaker 8 (54:17):
Made up of No, it was not made up because
I hate controversy of any kind. I don't like to
be in anything that said, oh they do this, and
you know in a bad way. But when they said
they were gonna put me in the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame, I thought, well, why not rock and
Roll Hall of Fame? Because I know so many people
are like meat Loaf and some of the greatest artists
of all times, and you know, almost to the point,
(54:39):
you know, almost since they get almost bitter about the
fact that some of the greatest artists have never been
in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And I
thought that you voted on that, and I thought, I
am not taking votes away from people for them to
put me in the Hall of Fame just because I
would have in a hot streak at the time of
the other things. And I didn't feel right about it,
(55:00):
and so I said, no, I didn't. I thought other people,
because I've spent my life in country, anything they give
me in country, I'll take it, I will, you know.
I thought, I don't feel I deserve it because I've
spent my life with that. But anyway, when they explain
what it was and that it's people's music that's that's
influenced other things. When I had a better understanding. I
(55:21):
understand more of why, but I just didn't feel right
about it still. So I'm like my daddy. I don't
want nothing that's you know that I don't earn. So
when they put me in anyhow, I thought, well, I'd
always thought about doing a rock album. I thought Thimmon's everything,
and I ain't want to miss out on timing, so
I thought, well, I'm going to do it. So I
nest it there that night, I said, I want to
(55:42):
think about doing rock and roll album. Any of you
want to join me, and a lot of them didn't yet,
But no, it was sincere. I wasn't making it up
for attention.
Speaker 4 (55:50):
Well, but was this album really because you've mentioned your
husband too being a big factor on the songs that
were picked for it, But was this album?
Speaker 5 (55:57):
Did it derive from you going? Well, now I got
to do a rock album kind.
Speaker 8 (56:01):
Of I felt like I needed to earn that title.
And now I feel like that this album is good enough.
Think it's some of my best work. I chose great
song and I also chose great artists to sing with me,
and now I feel like I at least earned the
fact that I'm in the rock and roll hall. Of
fame and if somebody sees my name and I say,
oh yeah, did you ever hear that rock a.
Speaker 9 (56:23):
Rock star?
Speaker 8 (56:23):
And that was the title was just tongue in cheek.
I just kind of like, here, i am seventy seven
years old, and I'm gonna be a rock story.
Speaker 10 (56:31):
You know.
Speaker 8 (56:31):
It was just I thought, well, long, I'll leave that
from my legacy.
Speaker 4 (56:35):
What was the first track you cut, because that's at
least the first one you knew you wanted to cut.
Speaker 8 (56:39):
Well, I think the first one I cut was a
song of mine because I wanted to get comfortable. It
was more fla country flavored. It was my Blue Tears
that I did with Simon Levon. I wrote that song
when I was young kid, and I'd recorded a couple
of times even within the trio album with London in me,
(57:00):
and so I did that one just to kind of get,
you know, get my my stuff going. And then we
started cutting songs like Satisfaction. I think that was the
second one, and uh then we just r really went
on with some of those.
Speaker 5 (57:12):
Hard ass rock and roll, the real rock, right real rock.
Speaker 4 (57:16):
What about Simon made you go to him first to say, hel, hey,
do this song with me?
Speaker 5 (57:20):
To I cause you wrote that by yourself, right.
Speaker 8 (57:21):
I wrote that by myself, and I wrote that years ago.
But I thought this song was so pretty and I
wanted to add more to it. But I was the
reason I picked Simon is because uh he was on
the rock and roll Uh he went in the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame with Duran Duran that night.
Same night I did. Same reason. I picked Pat Benatar
and uh Rob uh Helford. You know, they were all
(57:42):
there that night and I got a chance to talk
to all of 'em. But that one, I just thought
it would make just a beautiful song. I just pictured
that song about uh going off to war, you know,
like all the war going on and the b you
know that lovers and husbands r going off to war
and the girls singing, you know, my blue tears, And
(58:03):
I just pictured that as a movie theme almost, And
I just thought Simon's voice was so beautiful because it
was old world and I did some harmonies that old
world top harmonies with myself, but he's got that really
beautiful high pitched voice, and I thought he was perfect
as he was.
Speaker 4 (58:18):
Whenever you're singing some of these songs that other artists
made famous. We talked about Elton John but sting every
breath you take, Steve Perry Journey, open arms.
Speaker 5 (58:27):
Do you have pressure?
Speaker 4 (58:28):
Do you put it on yourself when you're singing a
song and then you're asking the original artist to get
on it with you? Des there a standard that has
to hit before you'll send it off.
Speaker 8 (58:34):
Well, you know what. I talked about this on different things.
I hate to ask anybody to do anything. Anybody asked
me to sing on anything, I nearly ninety nine percent
of the time I will, And if it don't, it's
just cause I can't make the time to do it
or something. But I just listened to the songs and
(58:54):
I think, who would be great on it? I actually
recorded the whole album and had not thought of putting
anybody on it. Then after I got the album recorded,
then I started thinking, wouldn't it be great if I
could get some of these artists. So it was hard
for me to ask 'em cause I didn't. It wasn't
that I thought they'd say no so much as uh
(59:15):
cause I know we're professional and they would if they could,
and you know, they'd give me a good reason if
they could not make it sound right. Uh, but I
just you know, I just had trouble doing it. But
I I thought, well, it'd be worth it, cause it'd
be great if I'm gonna do the rock album, to
really make it something special.
Speaker 10 (59:32):
So when you did ask Elton John, do you do
you call him? Do you text him? Do you send
an email? Handwritten letter?
Speaker 8 (59:38):
Question? I did it ever? Which away? Uh? I mostly
called the people. You know, A wrote a note through
my management because my manager noted everybody else's manager, so
we did a lot of it through their manager, so
I didn't have to put myself nor them on a
total spot. But I wrote that I wrote the note myself,
saying what I wanted to say to them. Then I thought, well,
(01:00:00):
if they get back to me, they can just say
they can or whatever and they won't have to be
hit upside the head leader. But they all came back
and are they called me. I left my number so
they could call me and or they could call the office.
You know, we're country. We just do what we do.
But my heart was open to it and to them,
(01:00:20):
and I was really honored that so many of them
wanted to do it.
Speaker 4 (01:00:24):
I picture there's a meme or like a beautiful mind
where he's doing. You know, there's connecting all the dots
in the ropes in that movie. You doing this with
songs and all these artists because it's so many great artists,
and you're going, well, Debbie Harry sounds really good on
this one, but what if because she's so good?
Speaker 5 (01:00:40):
Like, how did that process come?
Speaker 8 (01:00:41):
We? Well, actually, when I recorded all those songs, I
thought about all those people that were still living and
still productive. Some of them went herd from in a
long time, you know, like Steve Perry, who was always
one of my favorite singers ever. And some people say,
I don't think you'll get him because he doesn't work
that much anymore, and this and this and this. Well,
when I got in touch with him, he'd called me
(01:01:02):
right back and he said, I've been fame for years.
I used to watch you on the Border Avenue Show,
and my family loved you, so I knew you. So
they all had their own kind of story and their
own same with Rob Halford when we were standing there
at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he was
saying how his whole family grew up on my little
color of many colors, and he was naming songs down
(01:01:25):
from dover off of albums that you'd have to really
know my history and know me to know some of
the songs. And so we just made some. We just
made personal connections and then when I called about singing
on it, they were all in.
Speaker 10 (01:01:42):
Well, so seventy nine ish albums, do you know that's
how many you've recorded? And we were looking at that number,
and I think even just contributed to two thousand songs.
So do you ever have times where you're like, hmm.
Speaker 8 (01:01:59):
What are the lyrics to that song?
Speaker 10 (01:02:01):
Or anytime where you could you sing every song that
you know you be a part of.
Speaker 8 (01:02:06):
Well, I know the melody, you know, like if I
hear something, but I couldn't go out and I couldn't
take my guitar and sing. You know a lot of
those songs. I can the ones I sing over and
over on stage every night, but a lot of times
we have teleprompters anymore. The older you get, the less
memory you got. But you know, but I know, I
(01:02:26):
know the ones that I sing all the time, like
Joline and you know all those, but yeah, it's not
easy to remember all of them. Then there's sometimes I'll
think did I rap? You know, I'll hear, I'll see
it title and I think, I don't remember what that
song is.
Speaker 5 (01:02:40):
Yeah, I was gonna ask. I feel like sometimes just
in Kroger or something, and you hear a song of
you singing like, I don't remember that song?
Speaker 8 (01:02:48):
Well I do?
Speaker 5 (01:02:49):
You know?
Speaker 8 (01:02:50):
I think. I Sometimes I'll hear something and I think,
does that mean, yeah, is that my song? Or I'll
think when I'm going through my stuff, my catalogs, I'll
see it. Or I mean if if somebody says something
and I see a list of somes, I don't remember
what the lyrics are until I, you know, look it
up and then I think, well, do I remember what
opportune is? Are you like, oh, dang, that's pretty good.
(01:03:10):
I did do that a lot, And then I'll thank
some of them. No that's not good, Well, that would.
Speaker 5 (01:03:15):
Never a hit the book.
Speaker 4 (01:03:17):
Behind the scenes, it's interesting to me because something that
you're so known for and celebrated for, we now understand
that as being normal.
Speaker 5 (01:03:24):
However, you're the one that had.
Speaker 4 (01:03:26):
To kind of create these these new highways people to
drive down, and I would assume that it always wasn't
so easy where people were just celebrating you for your
fashion people had to be.
Speaker 5 (01:03:35):
Like, wow, what is she wearing at times where now
again we look at it and go, that's dolly. She's
set the standard for everybody else.
Speaker 4 (01:03:42):
But when you're ground, when you're breaking around in new things,
there's a lot of criticism or.
Speaker 5 (01:03:46):
There's a lot of just judgment on you. Yeah, couldn't
have been so easy all the time.
Speaker 8 (01:03:52):
It wasn't. But I chose to be myself even still
something would embarrass me, something for my feelings, but not
taught me, you know, because I always just wore things
that I was comfortable with. I didn't have the money
to be fashionable, you know, back in the in the days,
and but I just wore what I was comfortable with,
(01:04:12):
what I felt fit my personality. And it was a
country girl's idea of glam, you know, my backwards barbie look,
so to speak. But it really was, you know, when
I wrote the song backwards Barbie, you know, it's like,
I'm just a backwards Barbie. Too much makeup, too much hair.
But don't be food by thinking that the goods are
not all there, you know, don't let these folks out last, yes,
(01:04:32):
lead you to believe that I'm as silly as I
look because there's a lot to me kind of idea.
So but I just felt if I had anything worth having,
people would see it in time. If my songs were
worth singing and recording, people would find them in time.
So I felt it was more important that I pleased
myself and that I'd be happy within myself, and that
(01:04:55):
i'd be mostly be comfortable in my own skin, as
I say, no matter or how far up stretched or
but certainly I need to be comfortable in my own
clothes and in my own self. So if I'm comfortable,
everybody around me is comfortable.
Speaker 10 (01:05:11):
I love that you said that, acknowledging that it hurt
your feelings, but you're gonna let it stop you. I
feel like, with especially social media and just so many
ways for people to make contact with other people, like
feelings are getting hurt often, especially behind a keyboard. And
so what advice would you give to someone along the
same lines of like if something does hurt your feelings,
(01:05:34):
because I could imagine a lot of people shut down
after that, or they use it as an excuse to stop,
and what would you encourage them to do.
Speaker 8 (01:05:43):
That's a good, good deep dog you have there, but
it still hurts no matter how big you get in
the business or how successful you are. I mean most
writers are very sensitive. Anyway. You have to live with
your feelings and your heart on your sleeve in order
to be able to, you know, to do things. So
you just have to try to forgive first of all,
(01:06:04):
or just to try to look over it and just
say that is I cannot just dwell on that. I
got better things to do. That was their opinion of me.
That's not my opinion of me. So you have to
think about It's more important what you think of you
than it is what somebody else thinks of me. That's
what that old saying, I guess it was Shakespeare or
somebody said, to thine own self be true. There's a
(01:06:27):
lot to that statement if you think about it, because
if you're true to you and you know who you are,
you'll rise a book that hurt. It'll sting, you know,
but you know, but you still you can't let that
cripple you in any way. You just got to cry
it out. Move on.
Speaker 5 (01:06:44):
Final question. I have Free Dolly and the record's out today.
The book came out last month.
Speaker 4 (01:06:49):
I want to go back to the Grand ol Opry
you're thirteen or fourteen years old, the first time you
play it, do you have give a memory of that?
And then the tail of the three standing ovations? Can
you remember them? I just my first night have played
the opera. It's all a blur. When I was doing
comedy of the opera, it's all a blur, and I
don't remember.
Speaker 5 (01:07:07):
It that well. But can you remember that, cause that
seems like such a big moment.
Speaker 8 (01:07:10):
Well, I remember even the very first time that I
sang on the radio when I was ten years old,
and that's when I got addicted to that feeling of
that audience where it gave me confidence, and that same thing,
you know, it gives you confidence, it makes you feel
like you're doing something right. And I always say that
was a lot of that was not because I was
so good. It was because I was young and because
(01:07:33):
I was little back then. But that's just like a
shot of adrenaline, and that just gives you encouragement, That
just gives you more, you know, it's like fuel to
the flame, as they say. But I remember all of
all of the things the same thing, the same way
I feel now when I'm out there in the audience.
I mean and with the audience out there when I'm
(01:07:53):
out on stage now, you never get over that feeling
because it's like a who you know, it's like a
great feeling. You feel like you've done something right. You
feel like you've done something good. So you're proud of yourself,
and you're proud of them, you know, for making you
feel good and that you feel like, well, they made
me believe that, you know that I'm worth what they've
(01:08:15):
paid to come to see me, because you know, the
fans are everything. We all want to think we're good
at what we do. But if we didn't have that following,
if we didn't have those people that believed Innis to
the point of Bond Records and all that, we wouldn't
have them. So there's something to be said about when
people react in that way. It makes you feel good
(01:08:36):
and it makes you feel proud, and it makes you
feel like that you've done something right and something good.
Speaker 5 (01:08:41):
The album is out today.
Speaker 4 (01:08:43):
It's Dolly and everybody else that's super famous but slightly
less famous to her because nobody's more famous than you, O.
Speaker 5 (01:08:49):
Queen, You're the Queen.
Speaker 4 (01:08:50):
Thirty songs, nine original tracks, and twenty one iconic rock anthems,
and I thought, I don't want to say iconic rock
anthems that might feel but no, it's true, you picked
biggest I did.
Speaker 8 (01:09:01):
I wanted with the best artists that I could find
and help me out on them, and they behind the scenes.
I don't think we ever.
Speaker 5 (01:09:09):
Mentioned we did. Behind the scenes came out last month.
Speaker 8 (01:09:12):
I didn't know if we had the top love and
in ron Stones this.
Speaker 5 (01:09:16):
Is I didn't get too yet, but that's life in
ryan Stones. You have a lot of ryans. Is your
closet full if.
Speaker 4 (01:09:21):
You were to weigh all your clothes in your main
closet at home, pretty heavy?
Speaker 8 (01:09:25):
Oh good lord?
Speaker 5 (01:09:25):
Yeah, figure.
Speaker 8 (01:09:30):
Lift evening.
Speaker 10 (01:09:32):
I feel like the character that you play in Steeve
Magdolia's just real quick because that's one of my favorite
movies top three of all time, Steel Magnonia's Pretty Woman,
Dirty Dancing. Yes, and any of my friends haven't seen it.
We sit down, we watch it. And Truvy, I just
didn't know if when you play a certain character, what
you learned from that character, and if there's anything you
(01:09:54):
remember learning from Truvy or a takeaway from that time.
Speaker 5 (01:10:00):
Well.
Speaker 8 (01:10:00):
I loved doing Truvia, but that was the easiest thing
I've ever done, because I used to think that if
I hadn't hadn't made it in the business, i'd have
been a beautician because I'd have had to have had
the makeup and the bleach and all that. I'd have
had to got a discount on that somewhere, so I
would have become I would have become a beautician. Sincerely,
So when Teasing came out, I've often talked about it.
(01:10:22):
I was doing not only my hair, but my girlfriend's hair,
and even after I became my star, a semi star
and was doing specials, had my family, I'd do my hair,
my mama's hair, my sister's hair, and so I would
have been in beauticians. So on that particular show, I
really felt like that was about the easiest thing I'd
ever done because I felt comfortable in that beauty shop.
Speaker 5 (01:10:44):
Yeah, yeah, thank you, You're the best.
Speaker 4 (01:10:47):
So behind the scenes my life in Ryin Stones. It's
the book that's been out for three weeks or so,
and then the album rock Star, which we were playing
songs from for the past couple of months as well.
Speaker 5 (01:10:56):
Thank you, doll, your all, thank you well.
Speaker 8 (01:10:57):
I honored to be with you.
Speaker 4 (01:10:59):
Anytime, Papa, thank you.
Speaker 8 (01:11:02):
She makes you look good.
Speaker 1 (01:11:07):
It's the best bits of the week with Morgan number two.
Speaker 3 (01:11:12):
All right, y'all, that's it for me this weekend.
Speaker 13 (01:11:14):
