Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's the Best Bits of the Week with Morgan number two.
What's up, y'all? Happy weekend. I'm excited to be spending
another weekend with y'all right here on the Best Bits.
I hope your weekend is a little bit warmer than
mine here in Nashville. It's been very cold here lately.
And I also want to make sure that you check
out Best Bits Part one. It's the one where I

(00:21):
bring on a show member and we get to talk
about a lot of things not only that happened on
the show, but outside of the show, things that are
going on in our lives that maybe we didn't get
to on the big show. So this is my fun
time to basically catch up with my friends and show members.
And this weekend I'm talking to Raymundo. We shared a
lot of different things, but in particular, we talked about

(00:42):
some things that happened with the big Country radio seminar
that was in town this past week, shared the type
of people we are when it comes to trips, and
the thing I am doing for the first time ever.
So be sure to go check out Best Bits Part
one with Raymundo this weekend, diving right on him with
some blind care yok y'all love when we do this
segment because it's pure chaos because we don't have the

(01:04):
words in front of us, and basically when we go
up on stage, we just hope for the best. And
this weekend was a fun one because we did nineties
Country Edition, so I mean, listen, I'm not gonna say
that I almost predicted the second place person, but I
thought they did really well this week, which was unexpected.
Number seven, it's signed for Blind Karaoke. It's nineties Country Edition.

(01:26):
Abby's our returning champion, so she will perform last today.
So i's find the wheel, all right, So whatever the
song is, that'd be heads. Carolina tells California. You would
have to perform that song with no words in front
of you, and that means sing it best you can,
get the words right best you can. If you don't
know the words, then just make it a passion. Come on,

(01:46):
show passion, show in. That's right. And today, who wants
to Halla? All right? Twenty dollars make you halla? Who
I mean, I don't even need to do it for
the money. This is for the love of the okay,
so if you win, you get love the fan. I'd
do it for the fans, but I will take the money.
All right. So nineties country up. First is Amy before
we introuce our judges. Amy ready to spend. Oh yes,
all right, let's see Amy will be performing. Which one

(02:13):
do you want with no words? Straw Oh, strawberry wine?
You can have your pick. We're missing out button there.
Do you want strawberry wine or dust on the bottle? Okay,
she'll do dust on the bottle? Really from Davidlye Murphy.
That's true. That's a good pick. I think about that. Yeah,
you definitely want to have a stong that's kind of
upbeat unless you can nail it. Now, let's meet our judges.

(02:34):
First of all, he's our head rider. If you're hear
a game, he probably wrote it. He's quiet Mike, He's
movie Mikey is Mikey? Everybody Mike my favorite due on
the show. Also best podcast out there. There's a big
country music seminar in town this week. So we have
one of our program directors from w m I L
and Milwaukee. She does afternoons and she's a program director.

(02:55):
It is Shannon. Everybody, Hi Shannon. Do you have a
last name or no? On the show, on your do
your name? I just go by Shanna Quinn. I keep
the Quinn in there, showing you got do you? Guys
like it so much, just the personalities, the energy she brings.
She has great stories, really relatable. What's your favorite story
that she's yeah, talking about her cat? What's what's her name? Bojangles?

(03:18):
What's your cat's name? Olivia Wilde? Oh, that's right after
freaking Olivia wild No the other Okay, it doesn't matter. Okay,
she did like Taylor Swift, I'll be the third judge
winner gets twenty bucks. What you'll do, Shanna is you'll
just go one to five, okay, And so here you
can write their score down on the back of that
paper and I'll take it at the end. And it

(03:40):
doesn't have to be the best singer. It's you know,
you gotta There are no rules about judging, I know,
but she never she never wants to judge, right, Ammy?
Are you ready? Yeah? Blind karaoke? She's doing dust on
the bottle. Let's go, am I going in? Okay, what

(04:03):
are you looking at me for? You kill you in?
I'll kill you in? Okay? It's yes, all right, all right, ready, yes,
go Creo Williams live down the dirt road, made homemade
wine like nobody I know. I stopped by one Friday
night and said, can you help me creo. I got

(04:26):
a little girl waiting on man, I want to treat
her ride. He said, I got what you needs. On
as it head down to the cellar. He reached through
the cobwebs and turned on the lot and said, there
might be a little dust on the bottle, but don't
let a fool you about what's inside. The might be

(04:50):
a little dust on the bottle, but also you happy
and you will get yeah. Yeah. No. First of all,
let me just say this before we write our scores down.
Everybody start of looking at me like I was background
singing for Amy was in the track, and if it

(05:11):
was sucking egg, why that was good? But it wasn't.
It was in that track. Okay, we all looked at you.
Second of all, great job. You got ninety five percent
of the words right to the chorus, which is odd.
Usually you missed the other words little words. You said
little girl was a little bit Amy. What key were
you singing there? I think he says a little girl
in the song you got a girl? I don't think

(05:34):
there's a little girl teenager. Check on that. Mic, I
have no idea. Maybe it's a great job. Write your
scores down, Mike d saying to write your score down.
What key were you singing in? Because it wasn't the
one that was playing. You know what I'm saying. Yeah,
I know it's a little girl, right, I'm toned down? Wow, really,

(05:55):
little girl? I would say, fully, tone your tone disturbed? Eddie,
give me the key? So you do it? Well, I
gotta hear it. I don't know it, well, I gotta
hear it. Okay, next up, hey, Amy performing, it's Eddie
get let's go up. Per grabs twenty bucks in the championship.
Eddie gets close to winning a lot of times. Yeah,

(06:16):
because he can actually sing the singer. Here's the deal.
I can sing, but I'm not good with words, so
the words are wrong. And then you, guys, sometimes you
can have I'm gonna nail this, and then you don't
get any of the words right. You're like, well, like,
let me tell you if we land on calling baton rouge, Oh,
it's it's over. And what way you're gonna nail I'm
gonna nail it. Okay, here we go let's spin, let's

(06:43):
go baton rigs one not away, but it's back on
dust on the ball. We're not doing that song again,
No we're not, but for now one whatever it's closest to.
If it lands on the same one, that's I'm talking about.
This time they get to pick no ruge. Okay, ready spin,

(07:04):
Amy's going full dappy duck. Okay, Oh no, no, it's hard. Yeah, okay,
so it was the exact same location. Let me say this,
This is Dina Carter Strawberry Wine. Eddie should know every word.
He just say no. We had to play with her. Yeah,
she played at our show, the right show. We learned

(07:26):
all the music. We had to play it sing background
for her, so he should have an advantage. You know,
I learned the guitar part. I didn't sing any of
this on stage. Pay attention. Here's the deal though, this
song I had my first kiss too, So I always
remember this song nineteen sixty three. Well, you know it's
a special kiss that I remember, a special kids. Yeah yeah,

(07:48):
so what is this like high school junior year? Right?
You would have been in college? No, no, no, here
we go hit that button and now performing Strawberry Wine.
It is produce ready? Do you know this? For you sounds?
Get a carter. He was working to call on my

(08:14):
grandpa's farm. I was thirsting for knowledge and he had
a car. I was caught somewhere between a woman and
a child. One restless summer, we found love growing wild

(08:41):
on the banks of the river well beaten path. It's
funny how those memories they last. It's a strawberry wine seventeen,
the hot you lime moon. Wow. So the first test

(09:04):
of whoa bit of sweep is the green? It's the
green on the pith, black strawberry who. Okay, there shining moments,
the words. I got all the words. Yeah, that's what
I mean. You were all like, I don't know words. Yeah,

(09:26):
sandbagging amy, that's what you do, not what the judges
are like. Wow, he's so good. You gave up at
a couple of times of seen like there were high notes.
You didn't quite go after Oh dude, I went after him.
I could you hear me? Crack? Yeah, there are good. Job.
It's pretty good, though, Huy, it was pretty good. Pretty good.
We're already classed. Okay, all right, righteous scores down there.

(09:47):
He is Eddie Strawberry Wine yeah, all right, our judges
shannaz in like sin I'm in okay. Oh, next is Lunchbox.
All you're like, you're gonna go take a little break. Oh,
we're gonna come back and go with you in a sec.
Do you want to spend for your song? Now? No?
No, no no, that's because then you guys will accuse me
of google one. We're watching it because I be tempted
to google. We literally are watching you. We know you're

(10:08):
not gonna google. That was Wait. Let's wait, let's wait.
How do you want it to do? I say spend
the wheels? Wait what? Why? Okay? Friend? Spin love? Do
you what do you guys want? What do you want
to be be able to come back? Want to tell you what?
I might have spen it and you can decide if
you like it or don't like it. I like it.
I like that option. Okay, I thought. We can say

(10:30):
take it or paths. I can like it or I
can love it. Here we go, let's spend. What is that?
What you want? Nineties country songs lunch Box? Do you have?
I like it? I love it? T Wait, I like it.
I love it. Tim McCraw. Now do you want to
go with it? Or do you want to spend again?

(10:51):
If we spend again, we'll wait till after the break. Um,
I think I'll keep it. Okay, I don't like it,
you love? What do you want to do with it?
I gonna love it. If you'd spend it again, you
can be on heads. Carolina tells California. I've heard of
that one before. You could do the grundy, I know.

(11:19):
Do you want to keep this one or do you
want to move to another one? That's your pick? Well
we'll come back. I'll spin again, Morgan, Now you're not judging.
Who do you feel like? Did the best of those two? Amy? Ready? Oh? Amy?
By far? Never been at the history. I heard he
was off today. Something was going on. It's had a
tough song. No, no, he tried to sound like a chick.

(11:40):
Well that's tough. You gotta make the song your own. Yeah,
I can't on the stage with a mic in his hand. Yeah.
Are you ready? I'm ready? Which song would you like
if you got to pick, if any of these nineties
country songs to sing with no words in front of you,
I'll be honest, I don't know any of them. All. Right,
here we go, let's stand Oh come on, I like it.

(12:03):
I love it, same one. There you go. It was
meant to be. That's not the song. Okay, there's a
song meant to be if it didn't sound like that
Georgia line. Meant to be, meant to be, mean to be, man,
rest in peace? Sales, guys, what they're still? They didn't die,
They didn't know tim a girl, I like it, I

(12:24):
love it, And you want to give in? Yeah I
got oh, oh, oh, I know what. I okay to
enjoy this party? Yeah, oh yeah, I'm enjoying it. It's
the nineties, baby, take yourself back? Where were you? Maybe
not even alive? O. There's this girl. I see your

(12:44):
walking over there and I she gives me that stare,
and I'm like, oh, if I don't get some sleep,
I'm gonna get fired. I want to see the phrase.
But I haven't seen them play all year. You know why,
because there's a Hoti in my truck and we're driving
down the street. She puts her hand on my leg,
and you know what I say. I like it, I

(13:06):
love it. I want some more of it. I tried
to rise above it, but I can't get no sleep. WHOA,
I like it? I love it. I want some more
of it. I tried to rise above it, but I
can't because she's starting her hand down by pants who
she grab Woolet called it down dirty there. I love

(13:31):
it because I can't do that. That was something he
went for only fans like on the song. Okay huh,
but it does say something about the break I was
seeing the braces that lie right. Yeah, a lot of passion,
a lot of energy there. How does that song start?
I spend nights ear dollars and out in the county

(13:54):
fair and I want I wary bear? Oh yeah, yeah, okay, lunchbox,
nice job. Whoa. You ain't ever seen something like that?
That was something I don't do it like that in
Wisconsin they do not. Wow. I'm a judge and here's
a program director and Milwaukee is then judging. Okay, thank you.

(14:18):
I don't even know how to do that exactly. It's
just whatever you want to vote on passion singing. It
doesn't matter what do you what would you give yourself?
Definitely fiveund all around. Like if you ever go to
a karaoke bar and you get up there, if that's
how you do it, like you just bring the energy.
You don't want someone up they're going. I mean, who
cares if you know the words? If you're having if

(14:40):
you know the words, do you stand there and are boring? Lame?
Everybody booze gets bored? Okay, thank you, Abby? How you
doing good? You're a returning champion. And I don't even
think those headphones word. I didn't hear any of the music.
You're screaming. It wasn't turned up. I just turned it up.
You're screaming, and you were dancing and stomping. It's hard
to hear that. I was a good dance. It was
pretty good. Abby. Are you ready? Yeah? What song would

(15:02):
you like on the wheel? On a fast one? I
mean Head's Carolina Carolina, that's like her jam, yeah but fast.
I don't really like the songs. Are you ready? Yep?
For the chance? Abby moved here to be a singer.
Just so you know. I know, here we go. Let's

(15:24):
spin that some all right, Abby? You get the way
we go? Head's Carolina. Hey, it is what it is.
I didn't spend it. You can't ring spin crap. Don't

(15:44):
tell you didn't spend it. You didn't spin it with
any purpose of trying to land on anything. Let's go.
Here we go, abbeys Now you sing, go ahead, Oh, yeah,
here we go. Put your hands together. No, oh, it's
just Bobby one club baby one. You say, we just

(16:09):
get a last leave this one horsetown like two rebels
without a con. I got people in Boston at your
daddy standing. He can pack up tomorrow tonight. Let's clip

(16:30):
a con has Camelina tails, California, somewhere green, somewhere warmer,
up in the mountains, down by the ocean, where it
don't matter long as we're going somewhere together. I'm gon

(16:50):
a corner has Camelina tails, California. All right, Hey, what
would your voice coach say about that performance? I hear you.
I hear you. Did she mess with when here is performing? No?
Because you don't have a mic? Yeah? Serious, we can
turn it on. She could wave it be like I'd
like to talk good. She didn't. She chose not to, right,

(17:13):
But why would you mess with her? No? I didn't
mess her. I asked her question. You asked me a
question under my performance? I asked her a question. But
again I'm the host. Oh sorry, go ahead, host, Hey,
how would you voice coach fail about that? I could
do Betterry. It just isn't as mean when I asked, Yeah,
thank you. Just text me what you mean to ask,
and I'll ask you to sound softer. Ay, thank you,
thank you. Okay, Now the judges are gonna look at

(17:34):
our scores here. I have Mike's shan if you have
passed me yours, i'd have to do whole numbers. I
didn't even ask me. Yes, oh matter, whatever you got,
I'll take. Okay, this is what I did. Great, Okay,
let me add him up here. It's very like a
point yeah, yeah, yeah, I see that she has point
like point three point seven point Oh gosh, hey, we
didn't give her rules. You didn't, so I just went

(17:56):
with it. It's like blind scorning. She didn't know the rules,
she didn't see him, so she does her own ways. Okay, Amy,
total score not that hard account twelve point five. Wow,
at fifteen, that's really good. Maybe maybe your highest score,
m not maybe, I think that's definitely yeah. Yeah, crushed it, Eddie.

(18:16):
Oh it's not good. Oh, it's not good. I sang
a woman's song, my voice cracked. Amy had twelve point five.
Eddie has eleven point three. It's not good. At all man, Okay,
Lunchbox all over the board here, all right, yeah, I
bet I am. He keeps like hopping like it's whole lunchbox. Yeah,

(18:38):
let's go. So Amy has twelve point five, Eddie has
eleven point three, Lunchbox has five point seven. Oh wow,
that's an all time low. Judge doesn't know how to judge?
She does? Actually, Yeah, what'd she give me a point seven? No,
she gave you a two point seven? Yeah, you're welcome.
Then what the heck did you guys give me? I
give you a two? Wow? You gave me a boy? No,

(19:02):
we never know, we don't. I mean, I think Mike's
mad at me? Well what I think Mike's madda being
held it against me. That's why your one because I
emailed in and asked Bobby if Mike Deal was a
frog because he didn't go to the OSCAR because he
has a movie podcast, and so Mike's like, oh, you
want to sew me? Oh we never talked about on

(19:22):
the show though, I know, but he sus sent a
note going, I think Mike D's a fraud because he
didn't go to the Oscars. And if you have a
movie podcast, you should go to the Oscars. Did you
go to the super Bowl? Store loser. I know there's
too many supporting events to go to all the super Bowl,
the big one. Now, I didn't go to that one, okay,
uh but I'm just saying I think Mike dy saw
that Amy with twelve. Of course he saw it. Mike.
I didn't let you that work on the right right
now what I'm saying. So he held it against me? Mike,

(19:43):
did you hold that against me? Liar Amy? Twelve point five? Abby? Yes?
Oh no, twelve point okay seven. It's the best bits
of the week with Morgan. Number two. We've had a

(20:06):
lot of fun listener calls this week, and one of
them was a listener wanting to pay Lunchbox to be
at her wedding because she loves when he wins a game,
and he does all I do is win, win, win,
no matter what that part. It gets her really hype.
So she wanted to be hype at her wedding and
have Lunchbox be there. Well, in true Lunchbox fashion, he
had a lot of requests in order to be at

(20:27):
this wedding. Number six Hannah and Saint Louis, who's on
the phone, wants to offer lunchbox of money. Actually, Hannah,
are you there? I am, good morning, studio. What would
you like to say? Um? I think what I'm about
to say is going to make everyone in that studio
like super roll their eyes. So before I hate it, um,

(20:48):
I just want to say how much I honestly like listen,
I loved your guys show. Um. I work a really
tough job with kids. Every day. I worked two jobs actually,
and as honestly just puts me in such a good
mood every day. Thanks for that. Appreciate that, um, lunch box.
My one of my favorite parts of the show is

(21:08):
when you're saying all I do is win, like gets
me higher the day. Love it, um, And I would
really love if you sang it Harrioke style at my
wedding because I just got engaged. Oh heck yeah, see
look at this guy's money making opportunities. Where do you live?
I live in Saint Louis. I was not that far.
I don't know how far that is, but plane ride

(21:34):
yeah yeah? So what kind of questions do you have
for her lunch box? How much were we talking? I
could definitely like by you out pay your accommodations. I
am a teacher, so I don't know how much I
could actually pay you to sing um, but I'm whatever
you can, like, look, what do you think I mean?
I was probably thinking about ten thousand aside from aside

(21:58):
from experience with plus expenses to sing. All I do
is when one time I can see it at the
wedding and the reception, but he doesn't even sing the song.
He just does that long and he didn't take the
line right, and I stay there and he goes, and
I stayed there when it goes, and I say, yeah,
right right. Uh so, Hannah, he says ten thousand. Do
you want to counter that it's a five hour drive. Lunchbox?

(22:23):
I have to offer is gonna make lunch box? Come? What?
And I'm the one that gets to cut the cake?
But counter at though you can say no lunch box,
I'll pay for your expenses plus five hundred dollars and
let's see where we let's see where we land five
hundred dollars and you can cut the cake? What let
him cut the cake? Really? And I get to feed
you the first piece of cake? Okay, okay? Do you

(22:45):
want to marry or two? And I get to do
you know what that night. No, just not like the
thirteen hundreds where the king gets to have take it early.
How much would you do it for? Bottom line? Um
In it looks like a six hour drive. Yeah, that's
a long way, man, it has to be at least
two thousand. But you can drive and then charge you

(23:08):
know more, because she's not gonna pay for flight anymore.
That's true. Godot, if I'm driving, it's gonna be three k.
So three k plus cut the cake and feed or
the cake and hotel and hotel gel. So this is
what he wants, Hannah, our kids allowed at the wedding.
Oh good, my kids are get a free meal out

(23:30):
of it too. Okay, So here's what he wants. He
wants to bring his kids and have a free meal.
He wants three thousand dollars a hotel. He wants to
cut the cake and then feed you the cake. Also,
I want tickets to the top of the arch. I
want to take my kids up. Okay. Does it matter
if you what order you feed with the cake? In No,
you will go after the husband. Oh no, no before

(23:51):
the husband. Okay, So you want to feed the first
piece of first piece and I'll beat your husband a
piece the cake. So you want to do both? Yeah? Okay, hey,
now you've heard what proble my client has here. He's
really dropped his price a lot, dropped his seventy percent.
How does that sound on sale? Now you have thirty
seconds to make up your mind. All right, here we go.
Let's put it on the clock for thirty seconds. Thirty

(24:13):
thirty seconds to think about this. Three thousand dollars a
hotel room. You got to feed all of his kids.
He wants to feed you the first piece of cake.
He wants to feed your husband the first piece of cake.
He wants tickets to the arch. Ye, look, I'm forgetting
anything there. No, when is the wedding? Do we have
a date? Um? Twenty four? Oh my god, New Year's Eve?

(24:36):
I just got more expensive, guys, So what is it now?
I mean New Year's Eve for me to give up
my New Year's ah? Lee, I mean I remember when
Amy got so terrible. So four thousand dollars it's fine now, Hannah,
you've heard his spill. What do you say back? I
would take all of that, but I cannot afford four

(24:57):
thousand dollars as a teacher, So I'm sorry you know
what a lot of teachers are doing nowadays, only fans,
So she should raise them money and they come back
down proud. Fun. Maybe ask instead of asking me for
wedding gifts, maybe ask for people to donate to the
fun to get lunchbox there. Oh, I thought he was
about to say, instead of asking for school supplies for
your kids. Well you can do that too, clear the list, Yeah,

(25:20):
unless it is actually money exactly. Okay. Well, Hannah, it
looks like we don't have a deal now, but it's
it's an open ended negotiation. Yeah, she has still twenty
twenty four. Well, your calendar books out quick, it does.
I am pretty busy. So Hannah, if you figure anything
else out, maybe talk to your fiance. Maybe he has
some extra cash laying around that he's been hiding from you. Well, yeah,

(25:41):
how does he feel about this? Um? I don't know.
I want to carry her across the threshold. No, all right, Hannah,
thank you for the call. Those are your terms? Yeah,
are you sticking to them? Are you willing to come down?
I mean we can negotiate. I mean I was gonna say,
I was gonna say, maybe we can go to a
Cardinals game. But New year's eve. That won't be that

(26:02):
won't be. Yeah, So okay, well that's worth stands now
eybody feel good on word stands now? Yeah? Okay, Hannah,
thank you. We get in a couple of weeks. Maybe
I can come down to prize. I got, I got
some ideas. But should I do what? So what? It
sounds dirty when you say something? No, no, no, not
like you when I say now, maybe what? She calls back,
I can give you the new terms? Yes, leave it here.

(26:24):
She didn't have to respond. Yeah, just leave what you
think the new term will be? Name or first child
after me? Okay, the price comes down, yep, come down.
There we go and contract though she just signed the contract.
Absolutely you've heard it, like name name it lunchbox? Or yeah?
Like what name? Gibbles? Like what up to him? Okay?
Hes got like three names? Nico Jackson, Nico Jackson. All right,
we'll come back. It's the best bits of the week

(26:46):
with Morgan number two. I'm gonna confess something with y'all.
Right here on the best bits that has not been
shared yet. So Easton Corban came on the show this
week and performed several of his hit songs and talked
about new mu music and what's been going on in
his life, and Bobby had mentioned that somebody shared that
they saw him at the gym and he was looking

(27:07):
real good. And I'm just telling y'all it was me
because we frequent the same gym and he has been
working really hard and Eastern Corbyn looks great. So confession
time is now done. You now know what's me. But no,
I just love his music and I've listened to Easton
Corbyn from the very beginning and it was fun to
see him. I just, you know, regular old gym and
Nashville just having a good day. If he doesn't want

(27:30):
to ever continue his career in country music, then I'm
telling y'all he has a career as like a professional
adult athlete whatever that looks like now if he wants
to do like CrossFit and all that, because he's working
hard at the gym. Number five. It's been a while,
so we've seen your buddy. Yeah man, it's been a
little bit. Yeah, good to see you again. YouTube man
was looking here is some old show notes and you
were one of our first guests ever when we started

(27:51):
here and we've been here now ten years. We just
hit ten years and so you've been on since then,
but you were one of our very first guests. We
were so new. The day was March nineteenth, twenty thirteen.
We didn't really start until March first, doing the show,
you know, in multiple cities. So our second week you're in,
you're singing. We got to know you a little bit.
Do you happen to remember not that show specifically, but

(28:13):
at that time, I don't know. People thought we were
just weird. They still do, but they were they warned you, like,
these guys are crazy. Was not not really, I mean
I knew it was a new show, you know, at all,
but man, you know, I do remember over the years
doing Settle shows, you know, with you guys. And then
he was like, these guys are crazy. So he learned
himself that's I'm probably crazy too. So trust I won't

(28:34):
say who, but somebody in the studio had scene you
somewhere and they were like, I didn't know it was
at first, but this a pretty good looking guy, pretty
beefed up, pretty like muscular, And then then they like it, oh,
it's Easton Corbyn And so I went to your Instagram.
It was like a picture you're doing curls or something.
Arms are massive, Like, what's happening over here, buddy? Man
just trying to be worth it. Then here I hear

(28:55):
you like, are you like bodybuilding? No? No, man, I
just I just love to work. Tell me he doesn't
look massive, he looks he looks massive. I just man,
I just enjoyed. It kind of sets the tone for
the day, and you know it just yeah, it just
makes you feel better. You're a Texas tech fan. No,
it's funny. They rescuing me that I have a hat on.
I was down home, uh and my high school is
a Trenton Tigers god, and I've seen a kid with

(29:17):
his hat on. I was like, dude, I love that hat.
And it was just for the baseball team and Trenton Tigers.
And so I took a picture of it and I
had my merch people. I was like, well, I'll bet
you they could probably make it. So sure enough, I
called them. They're like, yeah, we could design that. So
I just hadn't make the one. Oh yeah, because it's
it's orange. That's well. And I think because somebody told

(29:37):
me there was another high school in Texas and they
were whatever. You know, talent starts with a te Tigers
and I guess they were selling them and I guess
Texas Tech. I think send them like a cease and assist.
All right, Easton, Corbyn's here and I want to get
to your new song. Into second. We're gonna play the
whole thing. So it's called Mary that girl, So we'll

(29:58):
come back with that. But what i'd like to do
if it's okay? I know you and who's your friend here? Yeah?
We got lorn over here? Man, how don't you been
with me now? Twelve years? Twelve years and all the
same capacity? Like playing playing with him? Yeah for the
most part. What's he like? What's what's he likes? Rad? No,
he's rat he's super super super chill. Do you have
guys work out together? You both have big arms? Is

(30:19):
that yeah? You have to have massive arms to be
in the group. And tight shirts? Yeah yeah, dark tight
shirts literally. Yeah. Every time I will show up and
he's wearing the same thing. Now, hold on, I show
up first, so every time I show up, he's well
Eddie and I do that. Sometimes that's not today. You

(30:40):
guys look great. Before we get to the new song,
he said, could I just make up requests? Ye? Would
you mind playing a little bit of a little more
country than that? Yeah, Like my wife will just randomly
singing this around the house and Jim and she's and
I'm like, I was like, what's that what he's saying?
She's like a little more country than that? And she
has this version of the Highway and in her mind

(31:01):
and you're one of them, all right? Yeah? Yeah, so
that's not bad confidence. It's not well, you don't know
who the three are. It's me, Eddie and Lunch. We'll
do that too, a little a little bit from eastern Corbyn.
Here's a little more country than that. Um, Easan, when
you went to school, did you study AGG? Were you
ANAG major? Guy? I did? Man, I went to the
College Agriculture, University of Florida and basically studied AGG business

(31:23):
that's what Yeah, from Texas A and m okay they
called it AGG development. Okay, well the official name was
Food and Resource Economics, but it was basically an a
HAG business degree. So what did you study? Like? What
what were the classes? Um? A bunch of economics classes.
That doesn't sound very country, but it was like economics

(31:44):
of corn. Yeah maybe, yeah? What was yours? Similar? Turf management.
We had oh, all my lab all my labs were
on farms, like um, we would go out to chicken
farms or and be with cattle and that's where our
lab would meet. I took a chicken sex class. What

(32:06):
was more man really? If you went to Texas A
and M around two thousand nine, two thousand and three,
you know what I'm talking about. Chicken You signed up
for chickens eggs. I don't even know if the teacher
it is still there, but it was a very interest class. Well,
moving on to Easton here, So you have a new

(32:27):
song called Marry That Girl. You're one of the writers
of the song. Yeah, yeah, yeah, like what you walk in.
I always like to know kind of how the idea
came about or if somebody showed up with the idea. Yeah,
it was me, Adam Craig Way Kirby and Shane Minor.
And you know a lot of those writing session as
you know, they all start for about the first hours
a big BS session. Hey, chewing the fat, Like you
talked about catching up and Adam started talking about and

(32:51):
I don't know how we got on this, but he
started talking about how he met his wife and He's like, Man,
as soon as I saw her, I knew I was
gonna marry that girl. And I kind of looked at
some of the other guys. I was like, man, that
might be the title for the day. So I'm glad
we went down that road. So how long it take
you to write this one? I probably two or three hours,
not too long, so okay, So like he came pretty quick.

(33:12):
You know, nine am to three pm be a little
standard writing session. You know, you do it, you maybe record. Okay,
that's pretty quick. Kind of fell out of you. Yeah,
but that's only after an hour of chewing the fat.
So this one came even faster than that. So here's
a Clipper Easton's new song called marry that girl. I'm
gonna change your name. But she don't know men, Ye
she's but I've been praying something god bunching. I ain't

(33:38):
never been the same since we first. Man, I'm going
to everybod girl. Thanks. Hey, were you raising a farm?
I was, Yeah, I grew up kind of on a
small cattle farm in North Florida my grandparents. And did
you have to do like chores before school? Not before school?
Because that's always a story like I couldn't even go
to school until I know. My grandpa just took care

(34:01):
of that. But after after it was when the chores
began from me. What what were the life lessons you
learned from living on a farm? Man? You learn, like
you just learn about life in general. You know death,
you know being born, and you know through the cows
and stuff, and you know, just uh, through all the
hard work. Then you know, and usually it it, you know,
lands on you. You know it's up to you get

(34:22):
it done. You know, well, ain't that right? You guys
always counting on me. I'm like, won't you counting yourself?
It's constantly the thing that Bobby do it for me.
I'm like, no, if you do it for yourself, go
work on a farm. But learn a little bit. I
had story of every morning here in this show. Easton's
here and he's nice enough to play a few songs
for us. Here would you do all over the road?
Just a little bit of that to it all right?
Here's Easton Corbin and Lauren, he's a guitar player than

(34:43):
you can. I ask you a question about your name, Lauren. Yeah,
because I got picked on a lot for my name
and Bobby because there were bobby girls. There's Bobby boys,
and I was on like fifty percent girl. You're a
big dudes. I want to be as completely, but it
would be cool. We cool, right, everybody was cool? Yeah? Cool.
I don't know what dude named Lauren. Uh, there aren't many.
I've only meant a few in my life. But uh,

(35:06):
mine is the man version the spelling l O R
e N. So that makes me feel better. Yeah, Lauren? Yeah?
And easton your name? Where does that come from? Man?
I have no idea. I think maybe I was one
the day after Eastern. Maybe I don't know, they just
said it wrong. I just I guess, like being from
Arkansas window and maybe yeah, Eastern east Eastern. Okay, well

(35:29):
go you go with that one. So you put out
a record in January, But I was trying to look
at the some of the time. It's five years in between, right,
it's been a while. Yeah. I put out a few
EPs and things since then. Yeah, but full length record, Yeah,
it's been a while. Why what what was the deal there? Man?
Just uh, you know, I separated with Mercury and then
went about three years doing my own thing and just

(35:49):
writing a bunch and taking my time and just kind
of you know, looking for that right label home and
and finally found it with Benny Brown and and uh,
you know Stone Country Records over there, and I had
a ton of songs that I had just stalkpiled over
the three year period of just writing. And honestly, man,
it was a really good period because you know, they
say you have your your whole life to write your
first record, and that three year period was like having

(36:12):
my whole life again to write all record and just
take my time and you know, write songs I love.
How old are you when you learn to play guitar?
I think it was a thirteen? And why guitar? Who
was like here this put this in your hands into guitar? Man?
I just always loved the guitar. And I came across
the sky down home. His name was Peewee Milton, and
he was from Greenville, South Carolina, and retired in a

(36:34):
little place called steene Hatchey, Florida that you've never heard of.
And there was a local music store about I don't know,
ten fifteen miles from They're called Dixie Music, and they
just happened to be, you know, offering guitar lessons over there,
and my dad took me over and away I went,
Did you come? Did you practice so much that you
got pretty good? Like we're that passionate about it? Oh? Yeah, yeah,

(36:54):
I was. Literally my routine every day would be come
home from school, I practice about three or four hours
in my room, and then it's time to go feed
up and do the farm stuff. Ah, the chores. Always
back to the chores. Okay, Easton Corbin's here got a
new song called Marry that Girl. Can we get one
more from you? Guys? Can might play one more? Of course?
I mean I hope you to bring your instruments here,
and I know you get chores to do at the

(37:15):
farm Lander, but let's let's play all music here. Wouldn't
do this? How about um loving you as fun? You
guys do that one? It's perfect one nice job. You
kind of feel like this is a new like iteration
of you and your your career here. Yeah, I think so.
It's it's given me a really great opportunity to reset

(37:36):
and you know, I say, those last three years to
really get back to my roots and you know, just
write music that I love and get back to what
I love about country music because You know, it's funny
when you make your first record and you know you
don't know if you're going to have success or not yet.
You hope too, but you know, being new, you just
don't know. And once you do have success, it's almost like, Okay,

(37:56):
you did that. Then you got all these these other
cooks that want to get in the itching and put
their spin on it, and it's like, well that works,
are changing it? Yeah, I hate a good cook, you know,
right right, but you know what I'm saying. They try to,
you know, they want to change it when it's working,
and uh, this has allowed me to really get back
and you know, do what I do. And that's what
I love about Benny. You know he loves country music too,

(38:18):
and we're got on the same page and it just worked.
It's gotta be cool to like feel fulfilled absolutely again. Yeah,
and doing this, well, that's really cool. You mountain biking.
I love the mountain bike. I love the dirt bike.
What in the world you're gonna break something. You're at
that point now where you can't break something. You need
like a contract from Benny to go you do stuff.

(38:40):
But you can't do stuff, it's gonna hurt you like
Ben like these quarterbacks that can't go skiing all right,
right man, it's I love it. It's fun. Man. So
I was loving you. Yeah, yeah, I got sure, Yeah,
I got it. I just don't know it. Savi wreckt
oh yeah yeah you. If you're riding hard, you're gonna
put it down for sure. Write that down at for
a shirt. If you're riding hard, you're gonna put it.

(39:00):
What is hard? I don't know, Well, just like it
just sounds like hardy to do roast stuff, but you know,
obstacles and things like that where it's just yeah, I
like you compete. I'm sorry, do you compete? No? No,
no no. I just love to trail ride just Lauren
and yeah, yeah that's right, one on one to the death. Look, Easton,
we're super pumped that you got some new music. You
came back in. When they said Easton, let's come by,

(39:21):
I was like, let's go, let's do it, let's let's
bring him in. And I don't know what to say
except was this first of probably a bunch of times
that we'll be seeing each other. I hope the singles
crushes it. Congrats on the new deal with your record label.
I know, you know, Benny was instrumental a lot of
people's careers and it's kind of started something new, so
that that's that's it's really neat to see. And I
won't say who, but somebody saw you again and said, man,

(39:42):
it's a good looking dude. Oh you want to do
uncomfortable questions from listeners? Should we do that before we go?
All right? These are uncomfortable questions from listeners. Is Easton
Corbyn single? Yes? Okay, okay, okay. How much can Easton
Corbyn bench press? Not that much? There's people out stronger
than me. Do you ever Max? Though? Not really? Yeah.

(40:04):
We were talking about this because Tim McGraw talking with him,
and I think somebody asked, how much do you Max
bench president? It's like I don't, Max, Yeah, I'm not
seventeen trying to get a scholarship. Yeah exactly. And they're like,
can you believe timgad doesn't Max like challenging him after
he left, and I was like, why don't you challenge him?
Will he his here? Eddie? Sorry? Okay? Um? Can Easton
Corban change a tire? Change a tire gonna? I don't know,

(40:27):
like a car tire tire? Yeah, sorry, Uh yeah, absolutely. Yeah.
Has Easton Corban ever been in a bar fight? No? Actually, noon,
but almost. Yeah. Has Easton Corban ever had to stop
a show because there was a fight in the crowd?
Oh yeah, yeah, absolutely. And then finally, does Easton Corban
own the red Corvette? He posted on Instagram? No, I

(40:48):
don't tell me. The story is that into the picture? Man.
We were we were playing the Stude's Farm. Uh, it
was a big FFA event and he just happened to
have one of the new corvettes and I think they're
pretty cool. So he let me drive it, and I
was like, why not take a picture and act like
it's mine? Yeah? Yeah, why not? Why not? Okay, So
here's the thing. Easton's got an album that I mean,
what is today Today's I mean, it came out like

(41:09):
two months ago called Let's Do Country Right. And if
you love old school, like traditional country with like sonically,
there's some definitely new elements too, but it definitely is
a traditional country. If that's if that's your jam, go
check out Let's Do Country Right from Easton new songs
called Marry That Girl, and then go over to Easton's
website and I mean, you got a lot of dates.
They print it off all the dates and it was

(41:29):
like sheet and a half. Yea, let's say, yeah, it's
why you complaining. I'm glad to be busy. Absolutely, you
play all the hits though, right you know I'm doing
that bull crap where your show? I but don't play
the hits because that's some bull crapping artist dude, that
they'll leave out their biggest songs. I hate that man.
You play a little more country than that, right, Absolutely,
because I'll be I would be get my money back.
Easton Corbyn there is you guys, go follow him at
Easton Corbyn. Good to see you, aboud. It's awesome so much.

(41:51):
I appreciate you. Thank you, bravings. It's the best bits
of the week with Morgan. Number two. Another listener called in.
This is not the same one that wants lunchbox at
her wedding. This is a listener who actually wants to
get a show tattooed. She wants all of the show
to sign a piece of paper, and she wants to

(42:11):
get those signatures tattooed on her because she already has bobbies.
He signed a Stanley the Dog book and she took
that signature and got it tattooed. Now she wants the
rest of the show tattooed. And we basically all had
to say yes to allowing this to happen, and if
one person said no, then we wouldn't do it. But
now you can find out right here if we all
allowed it to happen, or if somebody was like, no,

(42:33):
I'm not letting this be the thing that happens. Number four,
If you went in to see a doctor any had
a full sleeve of tattoos, how'd you feel about that? Fine? Now,
I mean back in the day, who knows, but tattoos
are so normal now it's not just bikers, or in

(42:54):
bikers could be doctors. There's like like, it doesn't mean
just because they're a biker with tattoos, they're not intelligent.
They can't save someone's life. Had a buddy who said,
I went in to see a doctor, one of those
general clinics who's touring, and he said, hit a full
sleeve of tattoos. That's cool, And I said, how did
that make you feel? He goes, you know, I didn't
think about it until I left, and then I was like, dang,

(43:15):
I didn't even think about it, And so I had
this article about tattoos that they're more acceptable in the
workplace nowadays. And these are the industries are accepted, fashion design, beauty,
hair dressing, restaurants, bars, and police force the professions that
don't necessarily like tattoos. Where would you go and you'd
feel weird with they had a tattoo lawyer the bank,
but the bank judge tear drops coming down to the side.

(43:39):
That'd be crazy. Well, I would feel like, Okay, this
judge knows both sides. Resident like he killed somebuddy and
also puts people away from killing. Can you imagine the
president with tattoos, with the net tattoos, that'd be crazy.
Military politics, law and they have medicine, Wait, militaries on
their professions that don't like tattoo. I know that weird

(43:59):
so many, especially the legit ones. So military that's not legit. No, no,
every military is legit. But I listen, Yeah, I began here, Okay,
you know my heart with the military, and I'm just

(44:21):
saying special forces. Yeah, let's say that level. They all
have tattoos. Let's talk to Melissa about tattoos. She's on
right now. Melissa and Indiana what's going on with you?
I was calling to ask um everybody on the show
if I could had their autograph so I can get
it tattooed on me because I already have bobbies tattoos. Bobby,

(44:42):
you can have tattoos. Yeah. And I never like signing
anyone in them getting a tattooed. I just feel like
you don't want that. You're in five years You're gonna
be like, who is this again? Where does she have you? Yeah?
I don't know where did I sign you? Um? You
did not sign me? You signed my book for Stanley
and then you got that tattooed on you. Yes, I did,

(45:03):
and I got uh from your teacher's right down my arm.
There's no straight line to success I feel back. That's
high those books really quickly. Oh boy, so she didn't
even get a good version. Well where did she get it?
Where did you get it? Cheek? Is it on? It's
not on about cheek, but it's on my forearm. How

(45:23):
big it's the wordy. There's no straight line to successes
all the way down my arm, on the on the
back of my arm to where if I'm walking people
can see it. But your autograph is probably about answer too.
Are you sure you want to put the whole show
on there? Yes? I do. Where do you want to
ask you? Guys? Fired? Yeah, somebody gets fired leaves or like,

(45:48):
that's okay, so just get the new person on there.
How do you feel about that Amy? How many does she?
How many? Who do you want? Because there's a lot
of people here? Yeah, who do you want? I would
like say, um Morgan's, um Abbie's Eddie. Of course I
thought four of the might be and the okay, so

(46:11):
this is seven more tattoos, she said, Nora on her
yet Oh right, okay, but you want somebody that you forgot?
H like I want you to get them tattooed on you.
They would come to mind quickly. I did forget him.
I'm just so nervous talking to you because I've been
I understand, I understand. Let me let me have a

(46:32):
group meeting here for one second. Melssa, guys, do you
want to sign something that send it to her and
then whatever she does for her body, it's up to her.
I mean, how do we all got to be unanimous
on this, because we can't just have like an Amy
and a Morgan tattoo and then nothing else. It's not
they're gonna be all. You can blackball it if you want,
or like when the pope is vote, you know, if
there's one Vito. Yeah, you guys thought about charging her? No? No, no, no,

(46:54):
why would we charge her phones? How does it feel like?
I don't like when people do it because I know
I did a paper, but I'm not worth the of
s one tattoo in there. That's why I don't like it.
I don't feel like they should do my name. They
should do somebody that actually makes a difference. You know,
I want to know where she's gonna put me. Probably
around the forearm, right, it's an all forearm Melissa, Yes, yeah, Okay,

(47:16):
if one person says no, we're gonna go no. And
also I didn't know she was doing it, right Amy,
I'm not going to keep her from what she wants. Okay, sure,
lunchbox man, I need a different spot, like I need
my own area, Like I don't want to be grouped
with everybody else, like I'm an individual. Okay, Melissa, that's fine.

(47:37):
I could put him where. Just say that and he'll agree.
He'll never see it. Eddie, Yeah, I'm in Morgan. Yeah,
it's fine, with me. Mike. Yeah, okay, Abby's Ray or Scuba,
anyone have a no, I'll sign you up. Okay, Melissa,
So you're gonna you want us to well, you already
have mine. Do you want them to all sign issue

(47:58):
to paper and us to mail it to you. Yes,
that would be awesome. Okay. Is it best if we
do it in a sharp Melissa? Yeah, that would be great. Okay.
I didn't know what the tattoo artist needs. Anyway, you
want to come here and get it done live on
the student. I mean we could get her tatted right here.
I don't think that that is safe. I don't think
that allow us to do that here. Brandley Gilbert travels

(48:19):
with his tattoo guy. Yeah, but Branley Gilbert doesn't have
a company over them for a bunch of rules from
HR Yeah, Brandley Gilbert less. Okay, we're gonna do this.
I'm gonna put you on hold and we'll have everybody
send you a signature their autograph. Okay, Okay, thank you
so much. You're welcome. It's the best Bits of the
Week with Morgan number two. This may be one of

(48:43):
my favorite parenting moves that we've heard on the show.
Yet am we share that she took the controllers for
all the electronics in her house when she left for
work because apparently her kids have not been getting ready
for school as they should be, and they've been playing
games and not being prepared, and so she had had
enough and that's what she did. And I think it's
pretty clever because sometimes you just need a little shove

(49:05):
in the right direction. And this was harmless. The controllers
were gone, you know, no harm, no foul. I thought
it was great. So you can hear the whole story
why we did it and what the rest of the
show members also think of her savage parent move number three.
I mean, this is, as they would say, savage parenting
by Amy. Oh, it's hilarious. But also my wife could

(49:28):
do this to me and I would be like, dang,
that sucks. So tell them what you did today. Well,
so I had to gather all the remotes because I
have heard when I because I'm already at work. When
you mean controllers, Yeah, it's called a controller, not a remote. Oh,
I took the remote too, So he took TV remotes
and the controller. Yeah stuff, whatever controls the PS four,

(49:51):
whatever controls the TV and the little place the game
like a game boy, but the what is that called PlayStation? No, oh,
it's called a you've got it for him? Oh yeah, yeah,
I got it whatever that is. Yes, you actually bought
him all these things. But at the time, he was
a great idea. And Okay, so I hear that getting

(50:12):
ready for work is like our school has been a challenge,
Like he's getting on the game. And so I was like, okay,
well I'm gonna nip this in the bud. So when
I left for work, I gathered everything. So, yeah, he's
she came to work with his controllers, the TV remotes,
she's got it all here, you're all in the front
seat of my car. Everything, And I mean, and I

(50:34):
did it. It was sort of like, uh, I've just
I just was so frustrated when I heard that, because
we've had so many talks of like, hey, dude, you
have to turn your lights off in your room, you
have to get ready for school, you have to make
your lunch. There's all these things on a checklist that
must be done before we even turn anything on. Hilarious. So,
but I would hate it if it were me because

(50:55):
that that could be used against me right now too. Yeah,
I could. She could totally take away your controllers. Yeah,
she would just take the whole system. Though, what if
she went out of town and took her controllers with you,
I go buy new ones? Well, I would go immediately
by new ones. And then then what I would do
is I would hide and get other new ones and
hide them in the house so when she did at
the next time, I'd have a backout. That's so smart. Yeah,
funny you say that, because I've thought about the dramatic

(51:17):
unplugging like this. He wasn't present for it. Let even
take the cable, which is even harder to replace this
with the controller. Let's go the cable. I shouldn't tell
you this. No, I've already I have enough way tools
in my toolbox to calm down. So I'm not going
to do that because I don't want to cause therapy
later in life. Of like, no, one time different. You

(51:37):
just took every controller remote from that in front of
his face. But no, no, not from his face either.
You just pulled that cable out the plugs from the
machine from the box to the plug, and then it's like,
I have the cable, so well, this is where I'm
sharing with you that there's been times in the moment
where I've been in it's been a thing and I'm
about to walk over and just unplug everything. And no, no,
I don't thought about it, slam it, pick it up

(51:58):
and slamming. Nope, thought about that. Get a fake one
that's broken, that's not cheap, for cheap and it might
have one. You walk in, you're like, I am tied,
and you take that fake one. You smash it and
then you kick in it and then you pee on it,
and you're like, and if you want, these are the
things they will remember, and it's not. That's not the healthier. Yeah,
I remember that. That's cool, and I remember that in

(52:19):
a good way. Like I ain't ever messing with her again.
She's peat on my system now, I calmly say, hey,
we can play video games, but we turn off our
lights before. So did they know you took everything? Yea?
Or are they just finding out like right now listening,

(52:39):
which I don't think they are. But I mean, no
a good parent, bad parent, any amazing parent. I love it,
No utch great parents. I think it's hilarious. I think
it's hilarious too. I don't like it because I could
have an in meeting right, correct, he's probably walking all
around the health right now, he's probably flipping the couch
cushion more time though. Right now he's like scratching himself, yes, withdrawals,

(53:00):
that's going through it. Okay, good parent, good parent, good parents, Amy,
you're officially a good parent. Good job. Like the good
parent of the day. It's the best bits of the
week with Morgan. Number two, we had a listener named
Elvis who called into the show and shared that he
and his wife would be celebrating their anniversary coming up

(53:21):
in Vegas and they really wanted to go to the
Adele Show, but the tickets were astronomically high, like in
the thousands of dollars high. But Elvis really wanted to
celebrate his wife in a big way. Well, Luke, Brian's
wife Caroline heard the segment and texted Luke, and Luke
texted Bobby and this whole thing happened so that Elvis
could surprise his wife with Adele tickets. And it's one

(53:42):
of my favorite moments that we've had in recent months.
And I just want to share this with you because
it's very heartwarming and just cool all the way around.
Number two, you guys. Remember Elvis from Louisiana. He called
like he wants to take his wife to Adele. Oh yeah,
And then we found out tickets for not resell tickets
like regular tickets to Adele in Las Vegas. We're three

(54:03):
thousand dollars. Great, here's a club of that call from
last week last year. Mean wife saved of money to
go to Vegas for a twenty year anniversary this year,
and so she texted me a couple of days ago
and she was like, hey, Adele is going to be
playing in Vegas. Well I go look for the tickets
and these tickets are like fifteen hundred bucks of peace.

(54:23):
And so I'm thinking to myself, like, how do I
get these tickets without having to go get a second
job on the weekend just to afford to get a
ticket for her to go see Adail. I was blown
away because then we got on we were like, surely
there's tickets cheaper than that, and some are like ten
thousand dollars and for two tickets it was like three grand.
That's not resell. So I do want to put them

(54:45):
on now. I just want to see what's up what
he decided to do, because we were like, well, don't
tell her you wanted to do that and not be
able to do that. If she doesn't expect it, don't say,
just go to Vegas and have a good time, you
know what I mean? Elvis? Yes, are you guys still
going to Vega? Yes? Sir? Now what did you tell
your wife? Did you hear your you on the show?

(55:05):
She didn't? Okay, So what's what's the plan as of now?
As of now, we're just going to Vegas? Um uh initially,
you know, to just see the shows and checking the
sights and stuff like that. Have you found any cheaper
tickets at all? No, sir, haven't. What are the cheapest
adele tickets you can find? The cheapest tickets I could

(55:29):
find was like fourteen hundred bucks a piece. That crazy,
which you, by the way, they're so first of all,
that's just that's so wild. They'd be that high, but
the theaters aren't that big, right, So usually if you go,
it's like two hundred bucks and you're like, dang, this
is high. But then you get in there and you're like, oh,
there's not a lot of people here. It makes sense
why it's so high, because it's such a close show.

(55:50):
I'm sure Adele's like that too, but I hain't no
way I'm paying fifteen fourteendred bucks for that. So, Elvis,
when do you guys leave to go? We leave Friday morning?
Oh okay, so this is what happened. So that airs
on the show last week last week, and I get
a text after I get off the air from Luke Brian.

(56:12):
He's like, hey man, so what's up. He says, Caroline
just came and got me and she wants to help
get that guy out. And I'm like, what do you
mean she says? He says she wants to buy him
tickets to go to Adele. What way? So this is
so Caroline Brian, that's so sweet. Caroline Brian our friend.

(56:34):
She's also guest hosted here. Um, you know, she does
so much for animals and people also look Brian's wife.
She wants to pay for the tickets so you can
go to this Adele show. Elvis. Oh my god, I
don't know what to say. Oh my god, yeah I
can't either, but it's true. And so I'm going, I
don't know, I'm gonna somehow hooked this up so somebody

(56:56):
can get in touch with you. But all I know
is that Caroline Brian reached out to me and was like,
I would love to pay for his tickets for nothing,
just to do it. So that's a situation. I'd like
to say we're sending elis, but we're not. But Caroline
and Luke are obviously, we were just like the condiment
to get there. But this is cool because like she's

(57:16):
such a big a deal fan, and like I've never
got the chance to, you know, take her to go
see your deal. I think you meant Caroline, you mean
your wife. Yeah, okay, so you're gonna go. I'm going
to make sure somehow we get this. I'll just give
you Luke' cell phone number. I'm just getting on that. Whoa,
I just like that. But that's the deal, Okay, Elvis, Okay,

(57:40):
that's amazing. Man. I can't believe this is happening. It's
pretty cool. I'm not gonna lie to you. It's super
nice with them. Oh yeah, no, I mean I'm just
picturing it this weekend. I mean, this is going to
be such a special thing. I would bet if Luke's playing.
I'm not sure if Luke's Residency's happening this weekend too,
and I'm just saying stuff now. But I'm sure if
Luke's planning too, you could probably go to that show too,
But I'm not sure if he is. But that's what's up.

(58:02):
You're gonna go see a Dell courtesy of the Brian's
Luke and Caroline, and we'll get it all set up
for you, buddy. But I just wanted you to know. Okay,
this is amazing, man, I appreciate it. Yeah. Man, my
wife was wanting to go to the Dell too, but
tickets were so expensive. Caroline, you're listening. It's me they're
not here right now. Hey, when you go there, you
gotta tell everyone right like, I was gonna be, like,

(58:24):
you know, bove me these tickets, Luke and Caroline. How
you gonna say, Luke, Bryan, I'd say Caroline and Luke. Okay,
only text me because he's like, Caroline just said, Hey,
I need to do this. That's true. It is a
really sweet, special, cool, amazing story that you're gonna have
for the rest of your life. We'll get it all
figured out, Elvis. Thank you for listening. Bud. We'll uh,
we'll reach out to you after the show or something. Okay, Okay,
thank you. I appreciate it all right, see you buddy,

(58:45):
It's cool, story crazy. Let's wait. Everybody goes, that's amazing.
He goes, that's crazy. It is crazy. You're right, I
mean that's crazy. I mean it's incredible when you think
about it. Are you upset? You mat Yeah, I'm like, man,
So all I need to do is get on here
and say I want to take my wife somewhere, and
some country artist's wife will hear it and want to
call in and pay for It's not all you have
to do. No, Like, how does that work? Like why

(59:09):
why that story? Like why when I talk about things
they don't call in. We're all affected by different things.
That's crazy to me. We should play a Luke song. Yeah,
of course, now we're even right, and then check out
Caroline's Breath's barn her what her what Breath's bar breast
barn no part of her nonprofit and so you can

(59:31):
check that out and do that. So we play Luke song,
support her num profitt. There we go. Thank you. It's
the best bits of the week with Morgan number two.
I hate to have this one at the number one spot,
but every time someone on the show shares some really
big personal news. It's always one that you guys really
engage with and talk about, and I just always want

(59:54):
to acknowledge that, and especially being that this was really
big news for somebody, so coming in at our number
one spot this week, Amy shared some personal news about
her marriage and we love her so much here. We're
really proud of her for being vulnerable and open up
to share this. And so I'm just gonna leave this
right here and you guys can hear the latest Number one.

(01:00:16):
You know, we live a lot of our lives here
on the air with you guys, sometimes alongside you. Sometimes
we share stuff so you know, you'll get to know
us better. Sometimes we share stuff because it relates and
we think we can help you know, a lot of
different reasons. We've been doing this for a long time.
I've been doing this since dang seventeen, eighteen years old,
so I've been doing it for a long time. For

(01:00:37):
hold am I forty two? Yeah, so we did. We
try to share a lot with you for different reasons,
and so that's we're going to do here. And I
would just rip the band aid off and just go
right at it, That's all I would do. Yeah, Well,
so we share a lot of our lives, and I
know listeners have walked alongside so much that we've been

(01:00:58):
through both of my parents fasciningway, the adoption of children.
You know, the first year of the show, back in
two thousand and six, my first year on the show,
I got married. And you know, I've been walking through
something for the last couple of years that it's not
a secret, but it's also something that we've kept pretty

(01:01:20):
private so that we could heal as a family and
take care of everyone involved. And so yeah, talking about
it right now isn't easy, but it feels right, like
this is the right time. And Ben and I, that's
my husband. I don't talk about him much. He's always
been a very private person. In fact, when I joined
the show, he was in the Air Force and we

(01:01:42):
called an Air Force guy because he didn't want his name,
we did on the radio. Yeah, when we first started dating,
you were like, I should have picked a different branch though,
to not be so dialed on that one. Yeah, yeah,
but he wasn't. Yeah. Yeah. So Ben and I are
getting a divorce, and this is something that was not
made lightly at all whatsoever. In fact, it's like I said,

(01:02:02):
it's been the last couple of years that we've spent
a lot of time just working towards what is most
loving for everybody involved and really most true to the
people that we've become. And I know from my childhood
and now as an adult, how divorce is painful, stressful,

(01:02:28):
it's emotional, and so really the well being of our
kids and co parenting and learning how to co parent
in a way to show up as the best parents
possible for our kids has been the top priority through
all of this, and so I think that's what we've
been working through. And I'm honestly very I'm very proud

(01:02:51):
of how we've as a family navigated this whole thing.
And I guess it's just it's hard to, you know,
say it again. It's not a secret to our people,
but just now putting it out there, just so I
can show up authentically as myself in this new chapter

(01:03:14):
of my life. And nobody wants something like this to happen.
I mean, honestly, I never thought it would happen to me,
and my younger self would have never allowed it, you know. Well,
thinking back to two thousand and six, my first few
years on the radio and marriage I remember so many
topics would come up, and I remember always saying divorce

(01:03:35):
is not an option, and listeners would even call in
and they'd probably they had experienced more life than me.
But again, I came from a divorced home. But I
think that's why I was. I held so tightly to
that and ended up in a very legalistic environment for
a long time. And I think I just that was
something that was rooted in me that I couldn't see past.

(01:03:57):
And I was like that, I will never do it.
And I remember you in box throwing out different scenarios
about my husband potentially being in jail or doing this
or that in my head grows out of his. But
we were throwing all kinds of stuff back, right, and
I'd be like, not an option, right, we'll stay, you know,
not an option, Not an option. And so I'm pretty
sure it's that younger, my younger self, that's been the

(01:04:19):
most terrified of all of this, And so I have
to I have compassion for her and who I was
then and who I was even six years ago, Like
one of my dear friends went through a divorce and
I didn't know how to support her, and that, I mean,
that's what gets me right now. I mean, we've done
the healing and in our own relationship, been and I

(01:04:42):
both and he's aware we're talking about this right now,
and I think that's what I hurt for how I
didn't know how to understand what other people might be
going through, because the reality is you don't ever really
know fully what someone is going through. And I wasn't
able to be there for my friend, and I wasn't

(01:05:03):
able to show up for her. And we recently in
the last seven or eight months reconnected and we're able
to repair our relationship, and I was able to finally
see because what Ben and I have been walking through,
what she was going through, and how I just I
think I because I didn't understand it. I had some

(01:05:25):
like why can't you figure this out? Or a little
bit of judgment in there that now I have fully released,
thank goodness, and then thankful now that I'll be able
to show up for people in a different way. And
we wouldn't be where we are today at all in
this process if it wasn't for the love and support
from our family and friends that have walked alongside us

(01:05:48):
with no judgment and just such encouragement and support and
wisdom and guidance from therapists, and I just feel like
divorce brings up a lot of complicated feelings, shame being
the number one thing, and so that's what we've been
working on releasing. And I feel as though we're finally there.

(01:06:12):
We've released ourselves from any stigma. And my hope in
sharing this is really that anyone else walking through this
type of loss will also be able to release any
shame they feel around it, because you're not alone in
what you're going through. And so that is where we

(01:06:32):
are and that everyone is doing well. I was gonna ask, like,
how are you? It has been very it is it
has been very hard, but I'm how am I? Now?
I feel like we're finally on the other side, Like
we weathered multiple storms at the same time, not even

(01:06:53):
just this, there was a lot happening at once for
our family that almost didn't seem like how can has
happened all at the same time, But now that we're
on the other side of it, I see actually how
divine each thing was, Like one of the things had
to happen for the next thing to be able to happen,
and then for the next thing to happen like and

(01:07:15):
again those are details that are close to our family.
And but I say that to also, you know, encourage
anybody else going through multiple hard things is to sure
you have to process and deal with it. You don't,
but but just somewhere somehow start to process. Okay, what
does this make possible? And don't waste it. Don't waste

(01:07:38):
what you've been through and linger in that hurt and pain.
Like if you can process and heal, then you can
get to the other side and see what came from it.
And for our family, so much has come from the
last two years that actually we're now on the other
side better people. What do you feel like you've learned
about yourself that um, I mean resilient is a word

(01:08:05):
that comes to mind, which feels weird to say about yourself,
but um, all of us like that were involved, Like
there was a time in probably twenty twenty one that
I didn't I mean, I wouldn't. I didn't fear for

(01:08:29):
I didn't think I would do anything to myself. But
there were times where if I I'd be driving down
the highway and I thought, okay, like if if I
were to just get in an accident, that would be okay,
you know, like it was that hard. So um resilient

(01:08:50):
comes to mind, because we persevered as a family. We
showed up for each other. Um, we're a team. We've
been and I both are a team. Like we went
to therapy about all of this, and mostly just to
a lot of co parenting, but us trying to figure
out what was happening and where we were going to

(01:09:12):
go and what we were going to do. And that
was a year. We saw one couple's therapists for a
year every week. A lot of those were two hour sessions.
There was a season where I would leave work and
I had therapy for other things that were going on
in our life. That last one of the things was intense,

(01:09:32):
like five weeks, three hours a day, and that's where
I would leave here and go do that. And it
was it was heavy. But and I know there was
a time where I was absent from the show during
some of that. And like you said, you know, you've
said many many times before, if you're not in a
right space, like go take care of yourself, you don't
have to be here. So I'm thankful for that. I mean,

(01:09:55):
this workplace, our work environment is part of that that
support that I'm talking about from family and friends and
and again the therapists, Like I say all that because
it took work. You can't just come out on the
other side of stuff like that without really digging deep.

(01:10:16):
And it was it was heavy, and it's hard to
do stuff like that. But we we came out on
the other side. And I feel as though I can
see the rainbow now, like the storms have passed. And
I know in life I'll encounter more storms for sure,
but what we've walked through, I just don't think now
I'll grip so tightly to the umbrella like I feel

(01:10:37):
like I just was holding onto it and I couldn't
see the rainbow. But now now I just have different
tools and I have different life experience that is now
I think gonna benefit me in this new chapter. And
I'm I'm a different I'm just a different person from
it all. Yeah, you've been through a lot. I've been

(01:10:58):
a pretty heavy eighteen months or so, maybe two years. Yeah,
I think back, I mean it all, all of this,
it's probably around twenty twenty, and I know for a
lot of people that happen to be the year that
everybody's life's probably got a little crazy. But none of
this has anything to do with COVID it but it

(01:11:18):
all started that year, so it's just a lot. Well,
I'm proud of you, I love you, we love you,
and like you and I have talked about many times,
not even on the air. A lot of people go
through their version of this, and you shouldn't feel alone.
But I think it's something that can make you feel
extremely lonely because you really don't hear a lot of

(01:11:40):
people talking about it in a way like you do.
We're not talking about it at all except saying this
happened on to the next right, And this isn't against
not something that was decided yesterday. This has been well
over at least two years, well over year in this decision.
But we were taking care of our family first before

(01:12:04):
it became a thing. And I think, yeah, I just
want to be able to show up here in segments
and like not have to have to dodge certain topics.
And you know, then and I are both again in
a good place. Like I when I say I'm I'm
proud of us, I really mean it because it's not easy.

(01:12:24):
And I hope that that's encouragement to anybody else going
through something hard like this, is that hopefully, and I
know not everybody's blessed with two people that are doing
the work and two people that are getting the healing,
and two people that are wanting to continue the work
to make it right. Because if you're in this and
you're the only one doing the work and the other
person's not, I can't even imagine, honestly, cannot even imagine.

(01:12:49):
And so my heart goes out to anybody that's in
that situation. But I would hope if you're listening to
this and you're in that and you may realize like,
oh shoot, I'm not doing the work, I might be
the person that's kind of making this super difficult. My
hope would be that you know, us talking about something
like this might be that nudge to get the therapy,
get the help, dig deeper, show up as a person

(01:13:11):
that you know you can be proud of later they
handled it well and well for your kids, well for
your kids, Like that's like for the last year we
have kept the kids in our house, And I know
not everybody has this option, and it's going to transition soon. Well,
we'll start to rotate a week on, week off. We're
doing fifty fifty custody, but we had an apartment close

(01:13:37):
by and the kids would stay in the house and
we would rotate. So every week for the last year
we've been packing bags midweek and switching and that was
important for us to do that so the kids could
feel like they were stable in their home. And now
they're involved in the process of their dad getting a
new house and they we drive by and look at
houses and they're like, oh, can you get along with

(01:13:58):
the basement, and so they're they're now involved and they
feel like they've got a little agency over this as well. Well.
They're also very lucky to have two parents at love them. Yeah,
and we do very much. Yeah. Well, I'm proud of
you for talking about it. It would have come up,
and you're right, we had to dodge some stuff and

(01:14:18):
you know, it's got to be tough to come on
and go. Young me was kind of uneducated and this
version of me is better educated. And I hope to
help other people too, and that's what you did and
that's what you're doing. So you know, I say it again,
we love you. I love you. You know what worse
things have happened to weaker people, but You'll get through this,
be better for it, and help others and help them
get through similar things as well. I have no doubt. Yeah, well,

(01:14:41):
I'm able to come out and talk about it now
because I feel like I am on that I've made
it to that other side. It didn't seem right to
come out any sooner than now. Well, and also there
are things to our listeners. We love ninety percent of you.
Five percent of our listener you can't stand. But the
five percent they want to get on social media and
right like Amy, we know and like post stuff. There's
a re then she can't share things that It can
be legal, it can be kids, it can be there's

(01:15:03):
a reason, literally, and you're the reason we don't like
five percent of you because you want to get online
to be like Amy. We know, we know, we never
see your husband pictures. Amy, What does that even do?
There's no reason. Amy's a real life human being. Yeah, yeah,
there's just it sucks. I would get so mad rosy.
People were like, we know, well, yeah, of course I
think people knew, but they didn't get online and be

(01:15:26):
like they because our lives were so worthless. They got
to get online and like put other people's crap out
there of your listeners out like six percent, I don't,
and I get mad. But anyway, okay, racist, we have
to get out of this break. We're speaking of Ray.
I thought he had my name in that enveloe, so
did I. I had Amy this morning. I had Amy
this morning because we've been talking about this. We're figuring

(01:15:48):
out when we could actually talk about this, like legally.
And and then the envelope happened to be today and
it takes Amy said, what if your names in the envelope.
That's why we did the envelope first in case her
name was in the envelope. It was her name, but
I thought it was Ray. Would you have ever done that? No?
But man, I would have looked like a genius. It's

(01:16:09):
the Best Bits of the Week with Morgan number two.
Thank you all so much for hanging out with me
this weekend. I hope you go listen to Best Bits

(01:16:29):
new bar that I really love, and maybe I could
find my future husband there, and Ray also shared some

just a really fun part of getting to do the
best bits every weekend. You can also follow me at
web Girl Morgan on all the Things. I love hanging
