Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time for the Bobby Bones post show. Here's your host,
Bobby Bone. Hello, friends. Chris Harrison asked for a bunch
of money when he left the Bachelor. Well they they
kind of fired him. Ish, yeah, he did said something

(00:21):
inappropriate or what No, no, yes, that was very inappropriate. Yea. So,
but then he asked for I think twenty five million.
They end up giving him nine. But the big report
was that he was walking over with twenty five million bucks.
But I guess he's just going to be poor and
have nine million now. Oh yeah, it's a shame. That's
still like keep his mouth shut. Yeah, basically that's what
it is. It's just money. I wouldn't say hush money,

(00:44):
but yes, but a different form of hush money. It's
more of a hey, you served your role here. Don't
go write books about us. You can. I'm sure he's
under an India anyway, but he could still probably find
ways around it. But he did not get to pay
out he was expecting after announcing his exit as the
host of the Bachelor. He's walking away with ten million,

(01:06):
a combination of nine million and some contractual fees less
than twenty five less than the twenty five million he wanted.
I'm sure that twenty five he wanted was thrown out
there as a negotiating tactic. The Germans places in the
airport which I didn't get to during the show. We
ran out because lunchbox was talking about eating while using
the bathroom chair, arm rests at the boarding gate area, handrails,

(01:32):
touch screens, which I try to avoid at all costs,
security bends, which are hard to avoid at all costs.
But I always wear long sleeves to the airport to
cover my hands with my sleeves, water fountains, bathroom surfaces,
and anywhere with crowds. So if you are starting to

(01:53):
travel a bit more, it's hard to say avoid those places,
but just wash your hands right after those places, like
get a sanitizer. Yeah. Parents, don't let your kids play
tackle football before middle school or they could have bad
migraines later in life. New studies are showing playing tackle football,
even at recess before the age of twelve, could lead
to an earlier onset of cognitive and symptoms of CTE.

(02:16):
Experts are urging children whose brains are rapidly learning and
changing to play flag football or touch football, especially at first.
I mean listen. They know now if you constantly ram
your skull into something else over and over again, that's
going to hurt your brain. Yeah, the end. And I
think it's awesome we have the ability to know this
now so that we can prevent it. The research shows

(02:37):
a direct correlation to contact football at a young age
and issues affecting memory and mood swings which could lead
to headaches later in life. And the reason that they
can find out about this now too is we now
have been studying it long enough to have this data.
Ten years ago, we weren't studying this stuff, so we
didn't know that. It's not like it's new, I know.
I just feel like some people are gonna be all
up in arms, like my kids are gonna play tackle well,

(02:57):
and they can great. I played football my whole life,
from second third grade on and tackle. I didn't like
to get hit, though I avoided at all costs. So
I was not someone who was but I did play football,
and you know, to me, team building, team bonding, leadership
skills like all that was gained there. But if my

(03:18):
kid came and said out, I'm ten, I want to
play tackle football, I'll go man. I think we should
play flag for a few years and then we'll readdress
the situation. And even with flag you can still learn
all that flag. You still get a concussion though too.
Like soccer people hitting them big in concussions all the
time because they're hitting their head of the ball. If
your son wanted to play tackle football, would you let

(03:38):
them know? You wouldn't even let them. No, I'm not
till high school or when I guess it would be later.
I do think that hopefully they're putting things in place
and now they have helmets that are more equipped for
that kind of thing. But I'll just teach them to do.
Do you like Uncle Bobby run off the field? Wow?
I'm just kidding. How did you avoid getting tackled? Though? Well,

(03:59):
you didn't. I thought you just said you tried. I did.
I tried. You avoid by not playing a position where
you have to do a lot of hitting. One. I
didn't play defense. I would only play like Nickel and
Dine packages on defense, which is a defensive back only
for emergency passing situations, so there's not a lot of me.
Haven't tackle anybody otherwise. I played a wide receiver or
a slot and it told me the ball and I

(04:19):
just try to run. Sometimes you get tackled, but it's
different being the tackler than the tack a lie. The
tack a lie, if you're running with the ball, not
as a running back, you're usually a little more up.
You're not taking it. If you're tackling, you're down and low.
So I avoided that. Right you play football, I did,
but even before these studies, I didn't like my head hurting.
And I was smaller, so you gotta realize I was
getting crushed in practice and all these other dudes you

(04:41):
are bigger than me. I was like, it's not fun
for me because it hurts way more and I get
drilled and tackled. It hurts it in the ground. You
think because you have pads on it, it it doesn't hurt.
It sucks. It was awesome, but sucked. How when did
you play football? So? I played all through middle school,
freshman year of high school, and then I was like,
I'm out, guys, it's been real, and I mean it was.
It was actually a pretty big deal to school because

(05:01):
me and my brother both decided not to play football,
and it was a smaller school and they're just like,
what what are you talking about? Your crazier. I'm not crazy.
We're out and we ended up being the smart ones.
They didn't win the next year. Maybe they didn't win
because of you. Probably not. My high school, we've always
had full football teams, but at very small school, we've
always just had just enough to have those teams. Last
year they didn't have enough, so they played seven on seven.

(05:23):
They want to stay championship at seven on seven. That's awesome. Yeah,
which is crazy. Eddie's back on the phone. Eddie played
high school football. He says, it is, and you said
you were a three star recruit. Yeah, man, I did,
but I quit. I quit before my senior year. I'm like,
it's not worth it. Not that I was worried about
getting injured. I just wanted to have a good time,

(05:43):
like lunch. Fox always say Eddie's walking right now, because
you missed the show. Where are you now? I'm about
five miles out? You mean you walked five miles? Oh yeah, yeah,
I'm not five miles out of my goal. I walked
five miles since I started yet. How are your feet?
You aren't bad, man, But I'm starting to cramp my
ham My hamstrings are starting to cramp a little bit.

(06:04):
I've been going up till for the last like twenty minutes,
So that could be part of it. If you would
have told yourself three months ago that you would be
this beat up from walking, would you believe it? No? No,
because you're just like, oh, I'm just walking, no big deal, right,
But man, when you're in the elements and the grounds
uneven and sometimes you have to walk on grass, and
one thing you don't realize is that the roads slanted

(06:26):
left to right, so you're constantly kind of leaning to
the right. The roads slanted left to right. Yeah, so
I guess that they designed that way. So when it rains,
the waterfalls off to the to the side, so it's
kind of put a lot of strains on my right
side a little bit. Well, then walk backward for about
for a while. I can also go to the other

(06:48):
side of the road. And do you feel like cars
are recognizing you at all? Oh? Yeah? One lay So
the lady that put up the signs, we talked about
that a little bit. She stopped by. Her name was Paula,
and she drives a bus. But she stopped to get
a picture and told me that she really loved what
we were doing. She loves you, guys, who loves the

(07:09):
whole show. And it's been really cool man to just
meet these people that listen and following along and now
rooting me along. It's really cool. Hey, Mike, can you
show me this the tote board on the screen? All right, Eddie,
we'll turn him down for a little bit. Hey, are
we bothering you by keeping you on the line? Are
you just with earbuds? No? As soon as we start talking,
I forget about my pain. So let's do it. Okay.

(07:31):
There's a guy named Chris Williamson who put twenty dollars
into a cryptocurrency called rocket Bunny like Bitcoin, just there's
all these new ones. They're all basically startups. None of
them work right. But he puts twenty bucks into a
crypto called rocket Bunny. And last week he woke up
and saw he was worth one point four trillion dollars.

(07:52):
H is a glitch? Oh, he said, He's saying twenty
bucks into rocket Bunny and then woke up. It was
like wow, and it was how many numbers is this? Three, six, nine,
twelve with a one It was a one and then
a comma and twelve numbers. And he said he tried
to move it because he had it and he want

(08:13):
to get out of that account and put it somewhere else,
of course, and they wouldn't let him. Yeah, there was
an issue, wasn't real, Hey, lunchbox to keep it? Oh man,
I'll find a way to get that out of that
bank account. Oh my gosh. One trillion on the toe
board right now, it's it's seventy three thousand dollars for Eddie,
Eddie thousand bucks. That's amazing. You can there's two thousand

(08:33):
and nine contributions. I thought it was going to be
the year. But now there's literally been two thousand and
nine people contribute a little bit of money for Eddy
to make this walk, and we weren't even asking for
more money, and listeners just continued to put in ten
fifteen bucks. And the number is raising, raising, raising, as
Eddie walks from West Virginia to Tennessee. I love that.
And now that you said that number, I'm walking faster.

(08:54):
It's like pumps him up. If it hits one hundred thousand,
will you run? No running yesterday for two minutes and
this is not gonna work. I cannot jog and walk.
You watch the terminal on Netflix. Yes, that's old school. Huh.
It's two thousand and four, and I don't know why.
I thought it was just about some maybe American that

(09:16):
decided they wanted to go live in a terminal, so
they did. I couldn't have been more off on the plot.
Tom Hanks plays the guy that lives in the terminal,
and he's from another country and his country that goes
to war, right, and he can't do and then he stuck.
So part of it is actually really sad, but then
they make it it's also funny, like you laugh out
loud some moments. But hey, it's on Netflix now, so

(09:39):
if you have that, it could be a good little
movie to check out. I'd give it three and a
half to give it. Let's give it four airplanes out
of five. Four that's a really good review. Yeah, I
mean I feel like for I guess I just didn't
know even really anything about it clearly, And I thought
Tom Hanks did a great job. You're daughter's home from

(10:00):
church camp? Yes, how'd that go? So amazing? And she
made so many friends, Like it's really cool to see her,
you know, just make memories and make new friends and
become like a real teenager. I know she's fourteen, but
you know, last year because of COVID, there was no camp,
and the year before she went to camp, but her
English was still a little bit off. I don't think

(10:21):
she was ready for it, like an overnight situation, and
it was not a good experience at all. So I
was nervous going into this year. And she came home
just so pumped, Like she got home Saturday afternoon and
then on Sunday she was ready to wake up and
go to youth group, see her friends again and do
all the things. And they're all in these group chats.
I love it. Hey, Ray, play a voicemail number three
for me, please. This is the one we didn't get

(10:42):
to today. Hey Bobby, I'm a correct driver and I'm
watching your show where you're driving nak Lerk. I totally
cried episode. Good. You were fantastic, Bobby. I love you well.
Thank you. Wow, she's still emotional. Well, it sounds like
theres something happened in the background too. I got a

(11:04):
family running around. Yeah, thank you very much. If you
missed the episode, you can watch it on the nat
Geo app or National Geographic dot com, or you can
go to Amazon and get an episode for the tugboat
episode was extremely sad at the end. I won't I
won't say what happened, but you can watch it up there.
A lot of people hit me with that unexpected so

(11:24):
watch them, get them, give us a good review it
on Rotten Tomatoes or Amazon or have your review stuff.
We'd appreciate that. Up On the podcast today, Get Real
with Caroline Hobby, she has on actress and wellness expert
Noel Ellie. She shared her inspiring story on how she
went from nanny and wedding tables to make it over
six figures and ten months when she started her company
and built it from the ground up. So check out

(11:46):
Get Real with Caroline Hobby and Mike d on movie.
Mike's Movie Podcast ranked all twenty four Pixar movies from
worst to best. Origin you the three worst you put
on there? Okay, the good Dinosaur. I don't even know
what the it is? I mean, was it that bad? Mike?
It was bad? Surprising? Oh, it was bad. It was
a flop. Monsters University at twenty three, Morgan, didn't you

(12:08):
like Monsters University? Was was that not? You watch Monsters? You? No?
I think that was Eddie, Yeah maybe, and then Cars
three wasn't third worst of all time from Mike, So
you can check that out movie Mike's Movie Podcast. I
will not tell you I made the top. That's why
you listen here the top of the list. Do you
want to interview move about the terminal? I'm just kidding.

(12:30):
It is good, but yeah, how what do you give it? Oh?
Three and a half out of five airplanes? EDDI? Did
you watch Monsters? You Woh? Yeah? At some point, dude,
I wanted so he's walking in a very real Oh
he's back. Hey, you know what? The terminal is so good?

(12:51):
Why because Tom Hanks, like you forget that he's four
as Gump, you forget that he's the guy from Big
Like he's so good at make you forget that he's
Tom hankson really plays so his character so well. You're
also a Tom Hanks lover like I've never seen before.
I love him. Oh you met him? No, But it's

(13:12):
one of those things like you you always say you
don't want to learn that, you don't want to meet
your idols or whatever, David Letterman and Howard Stern. I
don't want to meet Tom Hanks. I don't want him
to ruin that for me. I've changed though, I think
in the past few years. Yeah, I've changed. I would
meet him and if they if they sucked, and I'm like,
all right, well cool, it doesn't mean I still can't
enjoy their work. Yeah, I guess you're right, because when

(13:34):
I met Adam Durrett's that was a really heartbreaking. But
I still listen to his music all the time. So yeah,
Adam Didrret's lead singer of The County Crows, Eddie said
he had a miserable experience with him. He was in
a terrible mood. He was just mean to everyone. So
I met him in Houston and this one kids in
front of me. He's just like, welcome to Houston, man

(13:55):
in this town. Great, he goes this Tom sucks. That's funny.
But that's kind of but that's kind of what you
expected him, right, Yeah, totally. But I mean I don't
I wanted to be a little nicer maybe, but I
was upset for the night. But after that, I'm like,
I still like his music, so cares. I mean, if

(14:15):
you met Eminem, he was the nicest guy ever and
he's like, hey, buddy, can you kind of be like
to meet kind of like I wanted the edge you
kinda Um, what else happened? How did you meet him?
How did you get backstage? Then? My cousin they were
they were on tour with Live. You remember Live? Of
course I remember Live? Okay, So they were Live and

(14:36):
my cousin knows them. So he got backstage passes and
I went straight to Adam Durrits when I saw him, Well,
maybe that was it. Some random guy came running at him. No,
it wasn't meet and great. It was like they were
in a room and you can talk to anyone. Cool.

(14:58):
All right, all right, daddy, you guys can go donate
ten bucks to Daddie. That's that would be awesome. Go
to Bobby Bones dot com. The link is up there.
He is raising money for this organization that helps with
foster kids. Eddie, We're gonna let you go until tomorrow now,
all right, man, thank you. I'm gonna call my wife,
my mom and everyone. They've been wondering about what happened
with them. Do they go home? So they stayed in
severe A one more night and they're headed back today.

(15:21):
Are they going to come meet you? Are they know
they're headed back they wanted to, but are the little
baby's not feeling great, so they're gonna head home. Are
they worried about you? Nah? How think my wife's just
checking up, like how are your leg how are your feet?
Because the longest I practiced was twelve eleven twelve miles
and so I'm not he was worried about yesterday. You're

(15:41):
gonna push sixteen like, I hope you don't go over
that limit. But she's just wondering how my legs are
keeping up? That's it. Do you feel your body doing
anything different? Like, are you I know it's been so
you've been training. Are you feel like you're losing weight
or anything kind of? I mean I feel lighter. I
don't know of like I've been. I haven't weighed myself
for your thing. But during the walk, though, man, I

(16:03):
have to pee a lot. I guess that's a good
sign because yeah, NK stand hydrated. Yeah all right, well
I'll call you later, but we will talk to you
on the show in the morning. All right, man, good luck,
you have sixteen seventeen more miles. What do you think
it's gonna be the hardest part of this whole thing?
Eddie as We're just into the start of day two. Uh.

(16:26):
I just think the downhills are the hardest. Man. Like
uphill they hurt a little bit, but when I start
going downhill, it's hard on the knees. What part of
your body do you think we'll want to give out first?
Like your shins you can get splints, your calves, your feet,
what's the deal? I think my feet because it's not
so much like the bones of my feet, it's like
the ligaments between you know, somewhere like in the in

(16:48):
the middle of my foot that just starts kind of
cramping up and hurting a little bit. I'm trying to
keep ice on it and trying to like rub icy
hot on it. So and then do you doesn't do
you have anti inflammatories because you could start taking those preventatively. Yeah?
So is that like bad bill and stuff at all?
Like i'd be profin? Yeah, yeah, okay, great, I've been
taking that mostly. I've been taking it because I don't

(17:11):
want to feel the pain. But yeah, not, I don't
think it's Thailand on those things you can take now
you need like a leave No, not all right, dude,
talk to you tomorrow. Good luck? Thanks? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
we're experts. Follow at producer Ready on Instagram, follow the

(17:32):
stream Bobby Bones dot com. Donate five bucks if you
have it, ten bucks if you have it, And that's
gonna do it for today. Thank you all. I'm so like,
I'm just motivated by the music. I feel like I
should be doing something when replays this song done? Do
you know this is a called I don't the I
don't know. We'll make it to the finish line. Yep,

(17:54):
that's exactly what you can do it. Oh, it's a
good name for it. We're on our way. Do you
know what this is called? Lunchbox CHUREI it's a fire,
that's right. Plus one reason I know that is Old School,
the movie Old School. Yeah, all right, you guys, have
a good day. We'll see you tomorrow. Buy Friends.
