Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right the Bobby Bones post show pre show. So
Amy hit me a little nugget that Karen Fairchild is
going to her house today. Oh she was over yesterday.
That what it was doing? What? Um? She recorded my
podcast and we recorded Women of Ihart Country. Karen Fairchild
is in a little big town. Amy has all the
cool selebs coming over. How do you approach her to
(00:22):
come to your house? Did you ask her on on Instagram?
Kimberly came over too, Yeah, but how do you make
that happen? I don't It's not necessarily me, but I
guess they're they're willing. Obviously. I throw out either zoom
whatever's most comfortable or easiest for them, studio zoom or
swing by the house, and I guess they choose. They
(00:44):
choose the house if they want to. So that's cool
DM them or how does that happen? I don't understand. No,
I mean, I guess with Women of Ihart Country it's
a little bit different. But for my podcast, yeah, I
just reach out to them, but not on DM. I
guess there's like email or I don't know. I think
I was after Kimberly came on. Karen maybe made some comment,
and I was like, can't wait to have you on too,
(01:05):
because people loved Yeah, people loved the Kimberly one. So
I don't know how it seems to happen, but it
was awesome and she you know how we always talk
about how they're the nicest humans in the world, and
of course they are super cool. Yeah, they're super cool.
I yesterday when I played basketball, Travis Danny's gonna be
on tomorrow's show, and I'll probably bring this up on
(01:26):
the regular show too. But I went and he was
shooting a little thing with some friends. He's called It's
called Travis Danning and friends do stuff. So Travis and
I are pretty close. Off the air, i'd say buds,
not friend friends. I think I'm a little too old
be like a friend friend because he's in his twenties. Thing.
We played golf together and done some stuff, but say, hey,
will you come shoot this? And I ate something bad
the night before, just crushing me. I was so nauseous.
(01:48):
I knew it wasn't COVID because I just got COVID
tested and got the negative. And I was like, fine,
I'm gonna go. Because he had a whole crew there
to shoot it and I get there and it's me
and it was basketball. So I dressed up head to Arkansas.
You had the razorback jersey on. Yeah, And so it's
me Travis and he has that song. After a few drinks.
It's always Adam Hambrick, the rider who's written a couple
(02:11):
number ones. Um, also an artist. And then two guys
from Lanco, the lead singer Brandon Brand and then Tripp
who's in the band too. And I'm telling you, those
Lanco guys play ball. Really, they play all the time.
I mean they were just shooting lights out. Um. But
we went yesterday and and they're not tall, guys are
little guys, are kind of squirts. But they were just
(02:31):
dominating horse Because I was like, oh, you guys play.
We'd come over the house, we have big games, and
they started playing. I was like, I'm never inviting you guys. Yeah,
Matt Stell's not invited anymore. Right, I beat Matt still,
So I'm okay with that. If we were playing like
real games, Matt Stell's six six dominated, he dominates, um.
But how we play, you know, we shoot. But those
guys were good. Um, So we did that yesterday. Dealt
(02:53):
with some dog stuff that you may have heard on
the show today. But what did you what did you
do yesterday? Oh, my dad moved in. Oh yeah, that's
Did you have everything set for that? Or is it
like when you move into college and you think you
have everything, but then you have a bunch stuff you
gotta run to Walmart for a real I mean there's
probably a little bit of that. We took a Monday
and Tuesday to get set up. Like at first we
thought he could move in on Monday and they were like,
no way. And then we thought Tuesday, and then we
(03:14):
were like no way. But then Wednesday we couldn't leave
him hanging any longer because he was he'd been in
the hospital. He's ready to go. He's calling like every
day like come pick me up, get me out of here.
So I was like, we just gotta go get him.
So I went and picked him up at noon and
then brought him home and yeah, we're still figuring some
stuff out, you know, even just making sure we have
everything just right, which I've still even this morning was
(03:37):
learning some stuff. I was like, Oh, didn't think about that.
We have a new intro for this. Ray has been
working on this like five days for the post show. Yeah. Yeah,
so let's hear it now. Okay, music, it's time for
the Bobby Bones post show. Here's your host, Bobby. That's it.
(04:00):
Thank you, guys, thank you. We got a lot to
talk about on the show. Yeah, that's it. That's perfect.
It took us like five that's it. That's a jam.
I was reading some of the b team Facebook page,
which I can really get some really constructive stuff there,
and they were like, is Bobby just messing with Ray
trying to get him to cut a new intro every day?
It wasn't. We were just finding our vibe, right, And
(04:20):
I told Steve, I'm just gonna throw out crap at
him right away and have him turn it down and
then we'll keep improving it. You don't have to do
your best thing at first. I don't agree with that.
It's interesting because you can be working on something else,
so give him crap five times. Method that me, Well,
my thing was sometimes the corny is the morning corny.
(04:41):
The dumbest stuff ends up working. So that was throwing
something dumb, maybe at you, maybe not the least amount
of time that I put something effort into the morning
corny is not dumb. Do you remember, Hey, rod is
here our boss. Can you hear us? Roddy have headphones on.
He's hanging I don't know why he's hanging out, but
he's down here in this part of the building. So
we'll use them. Remember way back in the day and
(05:02):
I was like, hey, I got this segment called The
Morning Corny. It's gonna be funny. And you were like, well,
that's not that's dumb. Wait did I say it was? Yeah, yeah,
you were you were not a believer. I don't think
I said it was in the morning. You're trying to
get me in this goofy camera. Well, yeah, the camera
just needs to see you and it's part of the show. Now,
Now what do you think about the Morning Corny? Morning
Corny is great? But let's go back. I don't think
(05:23):
I said it was bad. I'm so, what are you
going to do with it? Because the name is Corny,
it is what it is. Yeah, Corny's corny. And I
was like, people are like the small I think what
you're remembering is some other people hit me with feedback
because they didn't get it, and I was like, not
everybody's catching that right away. That's what it's supposed to
be corny. Yeah, and then yeah, I don't know. We
(05:45):
have a little revisionist history. I think at one of
the two of us, possibly me, but probably truth is
in the middle, probably somewhere, or you're right and I'm wrong.
Another thing is I was, and I'm glad you're here
because Mike and I had to talk this morning. Where
you know, we'll really find something that works and then
just sit on it for a while until it starts
to not work again, and then we'll kind of get
away from it. But about once a day we'll play
(06:05):
some sort of fun game, music game, something to do.
And I was reading through the B team page yesterday
and they're like, hey, maybe we've done we've been a
little too game happy, and I thought, you know, maybe
they're onto something, because those guys listen every day. Do
you think a game a day over five hours is
too much? Do you think we're playing too many games?
No? No No, no, it's not too many games. People people
like to play along that. We know that. And by
the way, we love the B team. Keep in mind,
(06:26):
the B team here's here's it five times more frequently
than the C team. What's the team? Yes, Yes, Caitlin's
team is so ask because I told Mike, I said, hey,
why don't we peel back a little bit on games?
Because Mike writes ninety nine point nine percent of the games. Yeah,
what is your take as the big boss? You're asking
(06:47):
once a day? Once a Day's is easy? That's easy?
Do we play about one a day? Right? Occasionally if
there's some sort of benchmark that games out, we'll do
something two and a half hours later. Just what is
your radio guy version of this version is? Because it's different,
it's not you know, it's not Battle of the Sexes
every day? Yeah, because they're different. I think it's good.
Once a day is easy. Battle of the Sexes rock?
(07:09):
So huh? That gives been around for twenty years? Oh thirty? Yeah, okay,
truth be told. Anything else you'd like to say? No,
I'm good man. Where are we doing well that we
like to shout out? And where do we want to
shout out that maybe we could do a little work? Wow?
You want to do that here? Why not? Wow? It's
I listen. I don't believe it's so much an in
(07:30):
studio thing. Either way. I think when we do well
in a place, I probably shouldn't say that. Let me
just say this about what we're doing well. When we
do well somewhere, I credit the local team because without
them pumping us throughout the day, without them building the
show and making sure we're you know, on and off
the satellite the right time, Like, that's how we win,
(07:51):
is like our our local teams. So where are we
doing well? We're doing well in Nashville. We're doing fantastic
in Washington, DC. We're doing great in Saint Louis. In fact,
Saint Lewis been been on a hot street for a
couple of years. Um, we are doing great in San Antonio,
one of our newer markets. How about where we're super
brand new Portland, Oregon. Portland's Portland's great. It's one of
(08:14):
the best launches, absolutely less less than a year old.
So in radio terms, that's like an infant Yeah, yes, okay,
we like that, And so shout out to all those
guys for doing this show. Right. What about in the
like the middle size markets, where are we doing well? Here?
Here's what we should talk about. We should talk about
one market, Austin, Texas. Okay, why driving us crazy? You're
(08:34):
obviously the most popular show in town. The ratings would
indicate not it's very frustrating, but that's just a rate, right,
ratings go up and down, and yeah, sometimes before King
dingling and then it's like Tampa, we cried, we're the
bell of the ball in Tampa one month. In the
next week it is like nobody's ever heard of. Yeah, Tampa,
drave me crazy. It was a great year twenty twenty
in Tampa. And then the last couple of months has
(08:54):
been like, what the heck's going on? But Austin is
is way stranger. We can't even figure it out. The
rate things are so bizarre. Hey, we can't listen. We
come in, we do this, and then when you decide
we don't want us to do it anymore, we don't.
We get fired just like that. That's the end. Hey,
we've been on a good run though, right, Yeah, it
(09:16):
was fun. It was fun while lasted. Remember Rod was
the very first ever, if you read my first book,
he was the first ever executive in the history of
executives to come and say, hey, I think you're like
moderately pretty good, You're actually not bad. Yeah we should talk.
That was no. Nine ten years ago. Yeah, maybe, yeah,
(09:36):
maybe more than that. So anyway, I want glad you're here.
While I was like, no, that's a good vibe. I
think twenty yeah, I think it's been ten years. This
is a big year. We should do something like take
me to play golf or something me to play golf.
We did have. I used to take him. Now he's
supposed to take me. I think everybody agrees. But when
did you take me? The only time we ever played beforehand?
Was it like Gray Rock in Austin. I paid for that.
(09:59):
Well you were you remember? Yeah? Yeah, Well it's because
you remember that. You've never you've never taken me to
play golf. That's not true. I've paid absolutely, and I
know I've paid for Eddie launching right, well, of course
paid for them. I don't think you've are you sure?
I don't think you have lunch. I don't know that
I've ever paid for you either. To be honest, hey,
I told you we got to get the Trubadour. That's
(10:19):
a free shout out, I guess, but we got to
go play there. It's just here's the thing we need
your It's far away. How far is that? It's not
that far? Three minutes and it's extreme. It's extremely fancy, Darling.
You know, no, no, no, it's fancy. But if you
want to wear a T shirt you can. Oh that's fancy. Yeah,
it's anti fancy. It's like true lucks. You'll have a
(10:40):
good piece of fish and you can also wear a
T shirt if you want to. All right, thank you,
Rod Phillips, Yeah, thank you. I want to bring on.
First of all, I want to play K nine. Remember
the guy from Florida who's like, yeah, we've been on
a few times. It's like trying to get a career
going and like hip hop slash. Hey, Knin, let me
ask you a question real quick. I know he's on
right now. We'll getting picked up here on the online. Hey,
(11:00):
Canine your music career, would you say it's more hip
hop or a country or hip hop? How would you
define your style? Bobby, I'm like bo Jackson Man. You
put me on the baseball field, I'm gonna running. You
put me on a football field, I'm gonna run somebody over.
I'm gonna put it like that for you. Okay, I'm
glad you put it like that. I needed so. Knine
(11:21):
has been on the show a few times. He's called in.
He made us an intro, So I'm gonna play it
for you, and then we're going to give our Hey
that's great, or hey, this is what we can do better?
An intro for what? I don't know. I haven't heard it.
They just said there's an intro Canine, what's this intro
for the intros for the show man? I hung up
too early, but Scooba Steve messes me on Instagram and
(11:43):
told me to make you an intro or a rat man.
So you gave me the opportunity and I went with it. Okay,
let's hear from K nine doing how long is it? Ray?
Fifty seconds? It's like a whole song. All right, Let's
hear what we got here? O Bobby O, Bobby Bobby
Bobby Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby O, Bobby popping Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby,
(12:13):
Bobby O, Bobby Popping, Bobby Trump, Bobby going hard black,
chilling with my boy and Box and con Trump for
the show when you know we're already season try Bobby Bobby,
Bobby O Bobby Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bobby O,
(12:38):
Bobby Bobby, Bobby, Oh, Bobby o Bobby the Bopping Bone
Show show. Okay, okay, okay, paint out my heart for sure. Wow.
So a Bobby is like a Mellie's Low White Amelia
Millia right you gaus reference? Okay? Sure? Um wow how
about that? Okay? I think, first of all, nice, great
(13:00):
job we applied. That's a great job. We're definitely going
to use. That is my only critique, wit Be, I
can hardly hear your words because the level, sorry the
Bobby level was so loud, and your vocals when you're
saying something about all of us, I couldn't always hear
what he was saying. So I think there's a ton
of potential to use this Amy, What do you want
(13:22):
to say? Yeah? I just I think that the clear
like I couldn't understand what Morgan and Ray what they do,
Like if there was something that you said now, I'm
curious what is it you said about them? Too? It's
and two sets like the hard Celtz is yes, okay, gotcha,
that makes sense. Sisson and Celts are same same line.
(13:44):
That's yea. So I like it. I think that maybe
could it I don't know, could the what do you
call it? Like it the tempo be or could it
go faster? No, you mean can it be shorter? Yeah? Yeah,
but yeah, but get to the other things fast are
like not so many of Bobbies, That's what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah,
so we'll shortened to a Bobby Bobby Bobby the intro eddie,
(14:07):
but do in sison and sultzer and right and so
and then it's yeah and then we can hear him
though too. I think there's something here. Yeah, all right,
Canin we like we like to cutter your jib. Let's
get this punched up a little bit. Yeah, give your
Instagram name out so people can follow you. It's Canine
Underscore Florida. On Instagram, I got and uh my buddy
(14:31):
that I made it with. Man. We actually made it
in his bedroom. Everything's homemade, man, the b the chorus,
the lyric, everything, Man, we made it in about an hour.
Everything's in scratch. Nothing was taken. This is an original
instrumental um so we made everything on it. Man. And
his name is mister Icy And on Instagram it's three
(14:53):
y e CE and uh yeah, man, I just you know,
booked the studio session with him and we made it
in a the hour. Man all right, listen, we like it.
Let's let's hear those vocals and we'll do it again.
We'll short it up a little bit, We'll get the
vocals lifted. We'll do it again. Yeah, yes, sir, it'll
be It'll be ready for you tonight. Man. Dang bedroom
and I'm messing around. Do you live with doctor Rice? Mister?
(15:17):
Oh no, sir. I actually was in the third grade
with him, and he contacted me on Instagram instead. He
loved my music, and you know, we haven't hung out
or seeing each other in a while. And he charges
eighty bucks a song. So I've been recording some music
with him. And whenever you gave me that opportunity, man,
which I really really appreciate, you know, I messaged them
(15:39):
right away and told him, Yo, let me get in
the studio. Man. And you know I'm from Vero Beach, Florida.
We've had some big names come out of here. Obviously
one of your buddies, Jake Owen. You know we went
to the same high school. He's obviously older than me,
but I delivered his groceries for his mom. Man, I
know his parents. I went to high school A y
and W Melly, a guy that killed his buddies and
(16:01):
is looking at life in prison. So we've got some
big names around here. Man, I got stories for days
for you. Man. Well, okay, here's what we'll do. Tell
your buddy, mister mister Icy to not charge you to
go in again and fix this because we're we're giving
him some some publicity shout out. Yeah, So that's number one.
(16:22):
Number two is let's get it back to us. We'll
get you back on soon. And then number three is
have a stories, dice. You have stories for days? Have
a story. We want to hear one of those stories
that you have for days. Okay, yes, sir, all right
there he is K nine, K nine Underscore Florida Great Caller.
Why the K nine is that to represent like a
(16:44):
like a dog? No, ma'am, that's actually another story for you.
That's the one we want next time. That's the story
we want. Okay, okay, K nine, yes, sir? Yeah, all right,
see you a bud. Have a good day. Are you two?
Rank A nine Underscore Florida and Florida guys with stories? Yeah,
(17:07):
they all start with when I got COVID. I'm sure, Hey, um,
I know a lot of the b team watches this
or maybe they'll hear it. But I did take from
that page. They were like, hey, too many games. And
I did have that conversation with the mic, like I
value what people say over there. Um, now you've heard
us talk about it here. Let's let's see the real deal.
(17:28):
Put a pole up there, let's see what's going on.
I want to look at some data. That's all I want.
I want, Dada, Are you good? Then we'll hold off
on cutting games. We'll play them next week and then
we'll decide. Okay, Um, let me do a couple of
podcasts Mentions four Things with Amy Brown. This new episode
up today, she has on Emily lay. Yes, do you
know who she is? Heck no, I was really selling it. No,
(17:53):
she's really awesome. Like she started like a lot of
people I know have her planners called Simplified. It's a
brand she started. She started selling on Etsy and now
she's in Target and Walmart. And so she started it
in her guest bedroom and then now she's grown it
into a multimillion dollar company. And she was just started
it because she was tired of corporate life and wanted
to be home with her kids. But do what she
(18:14):
was passionate about. It was a side hustle and now
it's just grown. So she just put out a book
talking about that to help encourage other women that might
want to start a side hustle and grow it into something.
So I have herun for all four things, and I
loved my chat with her, like loved it. Also, I
want to recommend a podcast for you to check out.
You've may have not have checked it out yet. It's
(18:35):
a slow grower, but it's so good. People that go
to it stay with it. It is too much to
say with Kaylee Shore. So her last episode and you
kind of follow along her life, right, you're kind of
investing in the story of somebody. It's called on the
road again kind of. She talks about playing her first
official post COVID travel show. She talks about what looks different,
what looks the same, and how the touring industry is
so crucial to a musician's career. This is basically the
(18:57):
diary of a young country music artist who do things
a little bit different. So I would suggest you give
it a shot. Too much to say with Kaylee Shore,
hope you guys listen to that. Okay. I have had
two big bottles of water today. That's a lot. Already
you feel better after all that. No, but here's what
I think in my head. I think if there was
(19:19):
a machine or a car and it was running dry
without a lot of oil, and it would run not good. Right,
you need water. So I'm just trying to oil myself
basically oil. That's what I in my head. That's what
I have to do after and I don't always do
a good job. Hey, but here's some encouragement. You can
get water through food, and I'm not chasing like watermelon.
I'm trying to not eat as much food. Well, I
(19:40):
was going to tell you it's like apples, cactus, watermelon cactus.
That's that's what you cut open a cactus if you
need water, right, because there's water in it. Okay. No,
I'm just saying, don't always put pressure on your slickers
and Billy Crystal hanging out water man. But don't eat
the needles though, because it'll hurt. Okay, I gotta I
can't as much food and drink trying to get rid
(20:01):
of this. You could eat an orange. What do you
call this thing here? Muffin top? No comment about your body.
I got a little pooch in the front. Yeah, I do, okay,
I do. I'm trying to get rid of it. I'll
tell you who looked good the other day, of course,
Radiant Eddie. I did tell you why you're wearing golf
clothes like you were in, Like golf clothes fit in
(20:24):
the past. It's a little tight on the bottom of
your belly coming out of the shirt. He looked great.
Thanks man, black pants, yellow shirt. He's screaming, look at me,
and you want to look at him. He's beautiful. Wow. Wow.
I didn't know I was screaming that, but thank you,
you're a beautiful man. I saw a professional golfer the
other day. I don't know what was on, but he
was wearing joggers like they were the coolest golf pants
I've ever seen, because golf pants are kind of sometimes,
(20:47):
but he had like they were tight around the ankle.
They weren't joggers, but they were golf pants that looked
like joggers, and I thought I could get into that
golf fashion. Yeah cool, all right, well whatever, I was
just saying, like, if what are you are you getting into? Yeah,
there's like a guy's wearing that I don't know I'm
not even gonna go play golf, right, No, no, what
are you getting? If I was shopping for my husband
(21:08):
for like a gift, or if anybody listening right now
is like, oh, my husband loves golf and he likes joggers.
I didn't know they made golf pant joggers. Interesting all,
I didn't know that was acceptable on the golf course. Well,
thank you for sharing that with us. Never mind, I
just got from Kin. We going to the mall this evening.
Why I need white? I need some white T shirts?
(21:29):
He needs joggers for golf. You got a Target, dude? No, no, no,
you can, but Target doesn't have that. I have a
weird fit between a small and a medium. I'm like
a large small or a small medium. What does a
Dirks called a medium? Kind of? But that mostly means
you wear a tight right, So what is your plan? Well,
we have to find white T shirts that I can
wear on American idol as the T shirt where it's
(21:51):
something over it, and so we'll go to the mall
because they have more more stores to check from. My
body's just weird. First of all, I got a little pooch,
don't Oh my god, Secondly, what was that my breathing?
That a deep sigh? Because I anyway, you should get
a medium and then have it altered to fit you.
(22:12):
I have to go to American Idol Saturday. Well, no,
no time for that, altering a T shirt paper for
the altering. Then I'm on a T shirt. It's for
American Idol. Don't they give you money for that? Yeah,
but they give it to me in a stipe and
up front, so then you already spent that on video game.
All right, you guys, thanks for checking out the post
(22:34):
show nine k nine, great appearance. That's it. Thank you
by everybody,
