Speaker 1 (00:00):
And welcome to buck Slide Matt McCoy with Bill Conley
and Jeff Logan. We'll have Roy Hall coming up at
seven o'clock as we are with you till eight talking
buck Eyes and Penn State. A noon kickoff on Fox
that means will means we'll be on the Era live
from Lane Avenue starting at nine in the morning. Will
take you right up to the game. And also because

(00:20):
it's an early start, we have a chance to do
a postgame show, so we'll be on after the game
as well till five. As we are hopefully talking about
a buck Eye victory. And this is a game that's
still you know, it's the big noon game on Fox.
Fox's pregame show is going to be here. The blackout
with Ohio State. Now they're going to be wearing their
normal colors, but they're asking fans to wear black and

(00:44):
all of that stuff.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Why didn't we participate?

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Well, we can't.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
The team.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Oh, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
They've won those ugly black I know that, but I'm
not a fan. It's a blackout. It's a blackout.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah, come on, I guess.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
The blackout will give them a black eyes.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
But I mean, all that is great, and it is
still Penn State one of the story programs. But Jeff
the luster on this one. You mentioned it last week,
like going into the season, Ohio State open with Texas,
a one to two matchup, and everybody after that game said,
you know, a couple months down the road, we may
are a month and a half down the road, we

(01:22):
may have another one to two matchup with is State
and Ben State. And Penn State has gone from a
national title contender to are they going to make the playoffs?
To are they going to make a bowl game? And
like three or four weeks along with their coach being fired,
but still a big Saturday, is it not?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I think it's a huge Saturday. I mean Ohio State
has everything to lose and Penn State has everything to
gain in this thing. And you know, I'm I'm having
a little bit of difficulty, guys this week. I'm having
a little Matt.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Mccoyism, getting a little nervous about it.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Been uncomfortable for two weeks about this game because the
two greatest assets we had going into this game won't play,
won't be there. Drew Aller is gone, yes, and James
Franklin has gone. Those were the two best assets Ohio
State had was keeping him as the starting quarterback and
leaving James Franklin. They're just screw it up on the sidelines, guaranteed, Yes, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah, And the track record showed that.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
No doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
And I still believe, you know, they from a talent standpoint,
They've lost one player and they're starting twenty two. Really
Dalor yeah and Drew Aller that got all of these
accolades at the beginning of the season, and they invested
heavily in their nil to bring back a lot of

(02:44):
players that would have gone on to the NFL. And
I mean they were all in. All the chips on
the table were in bill and they didn't get it.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
Done, not at all. And here's the interesting thing. You know,
Penn State's always known for having this great defense, and
so Jim Knowles is having a rough time over there.
They've given up in the last four games. Thirty points
to Oregon forty two, do you sel a twenty two
to Northwestern and listen twenty five to Iowa.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Iowa. Yeah, Iowa ran all over them. They now, a
lot of it was their quarterback. Iowa has a running
quarterback who you know, just torched them on the ground. Nonetheless,
to give up that many running rushing yards is just
unlike what you would expect at Penn State defense to
do not.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Any bit of what you would expect of them. And
you know the way this thing is going to play out.
You know, I know Ohio State's a three touchdown favorite
in this game, which kind of blew my mind that that.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Could even hop happen.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
And I heard Terry Smith, their interim head coach, say,
you know he played at Penn State. He doesn't remember
Penn State ever being a three touchdown underdog to anybody.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
And he said, he's usual. He's hot as motivation. Oh
yes he is, which I mean, I don't blame him.
I mean I would too, I would litely use that.
And you know, one of two things is going to happen.
They're going to continue to play with their heads down,
their chins down, their attitude down, their character gone, like
they have the last three or four games, or they're

(04:15):
going to come in here and be energized and be
the Penn State that we've come to know and understand
in this series.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I don't know which animal we're gonna get, to be
honest with you.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
I don't either, but all.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
I know and what Ryan Dayas said, the only thing
they can control is how we do, how we play,
how we prepare, how we execute, how we handle things,
and if we do what we're supposed to do. From
our standpoint, it doesn't matter what attitude these guys come
in with. We're a better football team. Are we three

(04:48):
touchdowns better than them?

Speaker 5 (04:50):
Not?

Speaker 2 (04:50):
If they come with their attitude, We're.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Not not even close. So you're saying if all Io
Stay wins and only wins by a touchdown or so, hey,
don't credit pend State, credit Penn State. Buckeye fans, don't
be down on Yeah, this isn't Purdue seven point win.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
They shouldn't Purdue. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Yeah, Well, the thing that I'm waiting to see is
I'm trying to hear holp Penn State's gonna go score
points because you know, they have one big deep threat guy,
and that's running the ball. K Tron Allen rush for
six hundred yards nine touchdowns. He's caught tim pass out
of backfield only like thirty three yards. They have no
real big playmakers, especially with a young quarterback in Ohio

(05:32):
State for the first time.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yeah, oh my gosh, that is their challenge.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Is going to be scoring points against Ohio State. You
know you mentioned Jeff Ryan days messes that you know
it's up to Ohio State. It seems like like listening
to interviews that that's trickled down to the players, because
catle Downs talked about that yesterday and I saw hit
his interview get posted and he complimented Penn State and said,

(05:58):
you know they're gonna come in, They're gonna be on team.
But Bill, he said, you know, as long as we
our eleven do what we're supposed to do and have
the right attitude. We feel like it's it's on us,
like it's our responsibility whether we win or lose. And
I guess that's the right attitude to have.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
Going.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yeah, I think respect.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Your opponent, but understand we just got to do our jobs.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Yeah, but you got to expect the unexpected. You know,
they'll try to give me a few trick plays in there,
stuff like that. But here's the thing. Look for them
to come to drop block the block kicks. They block
four kicks, one kick and three punts.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
That's how they almost beat Iowa.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
I know, uh, and one for a touchdown. Look for
that to happen. Look for Jim Knowles to really put
the blitz on us to try they know, because they
know has been kind of average, but our passing has
been really good. Yeah, I'm rolling bones and nothing to
lose now, you know.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
I mentioned Drew Raller being an asset of Ohio State
if he had played in the game, and I don't
kind of joking, but he has not been a big
game winner for them. Well, Ethan Grunkameier, the kid from
Ollen Tangy.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
He's got a clean slate.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Going to be able to come into a hostile environment
a town. He certainly is knowledgeable of second start both
of them on the road because they started at the
Iowa game and threw two picks in that game. I
would expect, you know. And when you talk about losing

(07:28):
those two greatest assets that Ohio State had and their
coach and their their their quarterback. When you have to
replace that quarterback though, with somebody as inexperienced as Grunkameier
is at this level, that is a big challenge. Yeah,
So you could lose anybody else k Tron Allen if
he was gone, you got Nick Singleton over there. That's
no big deal. You lose your three year starting quarterback.

(07:50):
I don't care what his name is, could be Ethel Mertz,
doesn't matter. You bring a new guy in, it changes
the dynamic of your football team.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
You mentioned to me off of the air, Jeff, we
were talking about when James Franklin got fired. I I
was like, I wonder if that will give them a
bounce like UCLA. I mean, you know, until last week,
but they had They were winless, they were terrible, and
then all of a sudden they ran off three straight
wins with a new coach. And you made a point,

(08:20):
you said, yeah, but they had a quarterback that had
untapped potential, Niko Yamalo Yalaba, who wasn't playing well, and
all of a sudden he started playing well. In Penn
State's case, with Aler out, they not only have the
new coach, but having a young.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Quarterback have to it's huge.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Yeah. And I also was thinking in terms of Ethan
grunk Byer. Look, we laugh a lot about Iowa, but
the one thing Iowa has that is legit. Year after
year after year after year, they have a top ten defense.
They do and for his first two starts to be
on the road at Iowa, against their defense and then

(09:00):
here against this defense man Bill. That is an unenviable
situation to put a young kid quarterback in.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
That's like being set up for failure. I mean, it
really is. It's a tough situation. I mean you talk
about getting initiated under fire, that's a definition of it
right there.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Yeah, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
And you look at the history of this game, especially
in the last decade and a half or so, I mean,
it is just been a bloodbath the way these two
teams have gone against one another. Most of the games
have been separated by a touchdown or less in terms
of the winner. Both teams have staged furious comebacks to
be able to you know, win games in the fourth quarter.

(09:43):
We've had overtime, we've had double overtime, We've had a
walk off sack. We've had all kinds of drama associated
with this game. But Ohio State has dominated. When you
look at the head to head matchups of these two
playing tog.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah, yeah, they've won the last eight and as you
as you said, you have, almost all of them were
you know, one touchdown or less games and extraordinary defensive
performances like JT two and Miloau had as good of
a defensive game as you'd ever see. They're you know,
even going back twenty twenty five years, Bill, that always
seems like a defensive back gets a pick six in

(10:22):
in this game for Ohios Sate. They had a string
of like in the early two thousands, like six years
in a row where Ohio State defensive back had a
defensive touchdown in this game. We had a fumble Jaron
Cage two or three years ago at a fumble return
for a score in a night game against them. So
you know, maybe this is a game, especially with a

(10:43):
young quarterback, Bill, where we see a defensive touchdown for
a Lotio Well.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
Not surprising me at all, because you know, we got
to get them third and second in long situation, put
them behind the chains where we know the young quarterback
has to throw the ball to keep the drive alive.
And then their offensive line has been pretty good. They
only give up seven sacks this year. Our office line
is only get up two, but that means they're pretty
good at pass protection. But we got to get some

(11:08):
pressure on him and look for him to throw the
ball up. You know, it's just we haven't been through
enough fire yet.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
You know, if I take you through a period of
time in the Big Ten Conference and say that while
Penn State since twenty sixteen, all right, in the Big Ten,
their record is fifty eight and twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
How does that sit with you? Does that seem like
an elite program?

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Now?

Speaker 2 (11:28):
No, doesn't capture me that way either.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
No, it's good, but it's not like, you know, if
you're a top ten team.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
You know, since they entered the Big Ten in nineteen
ninety three and they made it what a splash in
ninety four when they went to the Rose Bowl I
think it was and were unbeaten one sixty eight and
ninety nine. Over that period of time, that reeks of
Minnesota and Wisconsin and Iowa and just not just not great.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
Yeah, well, they haven't had that premier quarterback like we've
talked about. We have some good quarterbacks, als good quarterback,
but far from being a great quarterback. So they haven't
had the trigger man.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Yeah, yeah, Sean Clifford before that, You're you're right, they've
just been They've been good, decent guys, but not Trace
McSorley before that.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
The good players, but not not great players. All Right,
We're going to continue talking Buckeyes with you on bucks line.
I got a bunch of emails. Thanks again for emailing
me during the week. Matt McCoy at iHeartMedia dot com
and you can also tweet at me. I'm at at
Matt McCoy Radio. We'll open up four long phone lines
at the bottom of the hour as well. Right now,

(12:35):
let's get you home. It's day and night Heat, eating
and cooling products and temperature Pro Columbus Traffic with Johnny Hill,
Matt McCoy with Jeff Logan and Bill Conley. Bill an
hour from now is gonna have a No. Nine enemy
on the Penn State Nitney Lions. We'll have Roy Hall
joining us at the top of the hour after his
high school coaching duties. Gonna get to a couple of

(12:57):
phones calls quickly here, but a quick one from Twitter
from Jay. How do Ohio State players view the Penn
State game? Are they considered a rival? I don't know.
I think that they because of the talent on Penn State.
It is always a game that is kind of a

(13:18):
big game for Ohio State. I don't know. Do they
considered a rival.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
A mini rival, A mini rival's one rival.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
It's not the game, but it's there's nobody else on
the calendar, on a schedule annually that's going to make
that kind of a deal other than the team up north.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
So, I think secondarily to that in a notch below.
But a rival absolutely, yeah, They're a rival, not the.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Rival, and they're always a threat because of the talent
that they have. So you always, you know, the Penn State,
Hey look at when you look at the schedule, what
are the games that just as fans you're looking for,
you know, you look Michigan and Penn State, and unfortunately
they're going to go off with the schedule and that's
Penn State's doing coming up here next year. I mean,
they had a chance to keep Ohio State on the schedule,

(14:06):
declare them a natural rival when the Big Ten expanded,
and they didn't. They didn't do it for Michigan either, So.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
I think it was more of a rivalry in the
early days of the league. That's because Joe recruiting was
different and there was a lot of players and Joe
Pennsylvania on our roster and a lot of players from
Ohio on their ross yep, yep, So, I think it
made it much more arrival in the State because now
we have players from all over America on both teams.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Yeah, let me, I'll throw this at you, mat if
you were if you were out there trick or treating
tonight and you went to a door that had full
sized candy bars, Yeah, but they in the belly every
time you reached for one. Would you keep going back
to that door? That's why Penn State wanted out of
that rivalry thing.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
That's right, that's right, Jim, thanks for waiting, you're up
on bucks line. Good to hear from you.

Speaker 6 (14:55):
Hey, It's good to hear from you guys again this
week too. This is the week that we've all been
looking forward to the re emergence of Jim Knowles in
the box. My concerns or my comments are basically, I've
been reading this week about the defense of our team.
We are first nationally and scoring defense points per game,

(15:20):
yards per game opponents, third down conversions, and also red
zone conversions from the opponent. That's four of the seven
stats that they measure on defensive squads. We're first in
the nation on them, which is pretty darn good. I
know Jim Knowles did a great job last year as

(15:41):
our defensive coach or coordinator. But in my opinion, I
think Matt Patricia has done even better. They basically have
had the same squads, you know, assistants underneath them. It
seems like the assistants get along better. And from what
I hear from some of the players saying, some of
the players say in one or two days they talked

(16:03):
more to Matt Patricia than they talked to Jim Knowles
in a whole season. So I'm not sure if he
just wasn't a you know, a kind of a get
to know the player's guy, or what his problem was.
But I think that the team themselves so much better,
performed so much better under Patricia than they did Knowles,

(16:25):
and they seem to really like it a lot better.
What are you guys thoughts about that? And what do
you think our chances are of keeping Patricia in twenty
twenty six?

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Thanks for the call, Jim. You know it's interesting. I
sent in our little group chat guys a video after
the Wisconsin game of oar bel Rees with Matt Patricia
giving him a hug and they walked side by side
to the sideline with their arms around each other, you know,
talking to each other. And I made that comment that
Jim did that, you know, And I said, and I'm

(16:54):
going to say it again. I don't mean this as
a negative to Jim Knowles because different coaches and have
different personalities, but it just is striking that the shots
of that that you see of players and how they
relate to Patricia is different, I think, bill than it
was with Jim Knowles. And doesn't mean Jim Knowles is

(17:16):
a better or a words coach, but they're definitely to
Jim's point, is a relationship thing that I am seeing
with the players with Patricia where they just like bond
with him better. I don't know if that makes them
better or doesn't mean make them better, but that is
a difference I would say between the two coaches.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
Yeah, you know, you have to be your own personality
in the sport or any job. Really. If you think
about some of the press conferences we all were at
when Jim Knowles is a defensive coordinator. Yeah, mean, and
it wasn't real dynamic responses sometimes stuff like that. Matt
Patricia from day one, he said, Magu's a good personality

(17:55):
and now we'll say if he can back it up,
you know, and stuff like that. But the one thing
his defense. He's done a lot more in one year
with a defense than what Jim did his first year
because it took our players a good year to understand
that defense and the complexity of it all. Or Patricia
comes in with a complete new style, pro style defense

(18:20):
and it's been very successful. Immediately.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Yeah, I will say this. I'm sorry, Jeff, just real
quick though, Jeff that in defense of Jim Knowles, he
came in with a defense that was atrocious and had
to rebuild it and it took him a few years.
Matt Patrician comes in and inherits a defense that already
is you know, a top talent defense.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Well, I'll share this.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
With you, and I think the two of them coming
in to their respective teams are very different. Yes, Jim
Knowles came in because we had a major problem, all right,
and he came in to fix it and it was
going to take time because we or a dumpster fire
on defense where she came in. Matt Patricia comes here
on the heels of a national championship in a terrific defense,

(19:09):
all right, to win the national championship. But what happened
to that defense? It went away, It went to the
NFL Yeah, eight guys in the first five rounds go
to the NFL and all I got to do is
read through. And Matt Patricia deserves a lot of credit.
But there are seven or eight players that are on
the top of the statistics from defense that have elevated

(19:31):
their games. Now you can say, well, that's because Matt
Patricia put him in the right spot. Yeah, I think
he has done that, But give some credit to these
players for what they have accomplished. Rvel Reees, Caden Curry,
Caden McDonald, Jalen McClain Tywon Malone.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Do I need to go any further.

Speaker 3 (19:49):
Yeah, these are guys that have elevated at the right
time with the right guy, and they've gotten really really good.
Because I don't think Matt Patricia walked into a gold
mine with eight guys that are gone on that starting defense.
It was really really good. He had potential, but we've
always known guys with potential. Yeah, you know, looks like Tarzan,

(20:10):
plays like James.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
A lot of them guys are There are plenty of.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Those guys and none of these guys are that kind.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Yeah, that's very well said, because you know those guys
that you all mentioned, we knew their names, but they
played like fifteen to twenty plays a game at best,
not not the entire games exactly, So credit both, I guess.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Was my point.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
Yes, And these these two defensive coordinators, I think are
very talented. And there are there are players coaches, and
there are coach coaches that we had coaches on our
staff and guys hated yeah not you, coach, but they
but they respected. Yeah, right, they were great coaches and
knew what they you know, they're not supposed to be
their best friend.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Yeah. I mean Bill Belichicks considered one of the best
coaches in the NFL we'll see about college, and he
wasn't exactly you know, a guy running around. I mean
he did okay with his players, didn't like, but he
didn't win the Miss Congeniality exactly.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
Right. As far as Matt Patricia is sticking around, I mean,
none of us know what his goals are. Well, don't
know if he's happy being here for he just wants
to get back into pro stuff like so you're never
going to know that or what job offers may come along.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Right for sure?

Speaker 3 (21:22):
Just throw the name, just throw out the name Chip Kelly. Yeah,
he's exactly the same as Chip Kelly. He comes with
an incredible resume, but does he like it here?

Speaker 2 (21:31):
You know?

Speaker 3 (21:32):
And the money here, They're going to make the money
here as good as he can get anywhere else, exactly.
And I don't think he's going to another college program.
You know, he's he's he's like a pig in the
soup right now.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
He's enjoying this experience.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
And he knows he could go back to the NFL
anytime wanted.

Speaker 5 (21:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Our friend Andre from Indianapolis is listening and dialing in. Andre,
what's up today? Hear from you?

Speaker 5 (22:02):
Yeah, I got a couple couple of quick promises before
I get to the main purpose of my call. You
know that the only three guys with NASENAL championships right
now are coaches who had their first head coaching job
in college. So I don't understand what the big fascination is.
We're getting these quote unquote home run national championship caliber

(22:23):
coaches when all three of those programs basically took chances
on guys who were, you know, being worthy about those schools. Yeah,
that's point number one. Number two, you know, I like
the fact that Ohio State sending that one single digit
to Fox with the blackout this Saturday, because they basically

(22:45):
let them know that, look, man, this contract is not
working for us. We're the big dogs. Do you guys
keep putting us on at noon? And we're not happy
about it. So I like the fact that they're going
with the blackout. This is the symbolism of it that
caught my attention and the main reason for my call
is all the fans and all the you know, quote
unquote experts and sports riders, we'll be an upset about

(23:09):
Ohio State's played calling on offense, the running games. This
is the game that you save all the plays that
you've been running and practice for, you know, twelve weeks
that you haven't revealed to anybody. First and foremost, Fence
States run defense is not great. And second of all,
Brian Day considers it to be a talent equated game,
So he's going to have plays that we haven't ran

(23:31):
all seasons, screen passes, draws, things of that nature. So
I expect a big, big offensive game from the buck
Eye this week. I just want to get your guys
a great show has always got Thanks.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
For the call. Andre. Let me ask you guys this question.
Is there any motivation from Brian Hartline slash Ryan Day,
especially Ryan Day going against Jim Knowles. Now, Ryan Day
said all the right things this week, you know, when

(24:02):
he was asked about Jim Knowles making the abrupt departure,
that he did a great job here. He did. Though, However,
you know, say, you know, when guys leave for other programs,
it's almost become bill like the NFL, where you know,
you see guys jump to different rival teams all the time.
It's happening now in college and you try not to

(24:24):
take it personally. But then he ended the sentence with
but you're only human, kind of indicating that it did
bother him. Do you think that they would like to
put like forty points on him?

Speaker 5 (24:38):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (24:38):
I think they like put forty points. But I think
it's irrelevant. Jim Knowles been there. But in your gut,
there's usually if it wasn't a completely smooth transition out,
there is some bitterness and if you get that shot,
well maybe we'll take a couple more shots deep than
we would have. Yeah, so it could definitely.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
I mean, my first thing is win the game.

Speaker 2 (25:01):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
But to Andre's point, Jeff, I mean, do they have
something offensively in mind that maybe they've been saving for
this game.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Do you think, yeah, you know, because you targeted this
game and you knew what it was going to be,
and I'm sure there were things you were holding back
just for this opportunity. Now, you didn't know your dance
partner was going to get as ugly as it got,
you know, in the last couple of weeks. But you
just still it's a talent equal game, as Andre just said.
And and you know, I think this whole thing about

(25:34):
the running game, and we've got caught up in this
at the very beginning, and I was fairly critical of
the fact that, you know, we were not doing a
good job of making people miss and being your own
blocker and getting to the second level and having explosive
plays in the running game. But I heard Ryan Day
talk this week about the fact that everybody has been
loading the box on them, you know, to a degree,
and then playing three high safeties. And so the problem

(25:56):
with that is it's difficult to run, and you can't
throw the ball deep and you're getting you know, pressure
like crazy. So now those little three to five yard
seven yard hitch passes are nothing but extensions of the
running game exactly, and they view those as runs even
though they go on the statistics as a pass. And

(26:16):
I'm not making excuses for not having explosive plays on
offense running the ball, because we need.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
To have them.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
But when a defense does that to you, you got
to take what the defense gives you.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
And if you're going to, let Julian say, in complete
thirty six out of forty two, you're screwed.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Yeah, And that's a choice you've got to make.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
And I think that's what Jim Knowles's big challenge will
become Saturday is pick your poison. How do you think
you can best protect yourself against the weapons?

Speaker 4 (26:47):
And going back to part of Andre's question too, where
comment was, you know, don't think for a second that
this week or I mean next week, you know was
in last week? You know as it buy it was
the only time they looked at Penn State. Because I'm
gonna tell you what you got, your red letter teams
you go against in the spring practices. You'll have a

(27:08):
couple of days or Penn State Gays days a couple
of days, or Michigan days. A couple of days are
Oregon days where you practice their stuff. Both sides of
the ball. Then you go to July, you know, you
do it again, and you will have scouts. Coaches will
give their scouting reports for the teams they're responsible for
in July, and you sit there and you study as

(27:31):
if it was game week. So there's some stuff they've
got they might not have to.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
Use it though.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Yep, all right, you got to take a break. We'll
be back after this for a final segment this hour.
Roy joins just after seven o'clock. Bills know thine enemy
next hour as well. Back after this on six to
ten WTV.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
