Speaker 1 (00:00):
Boba Schet immediately fixes second base for the Dodgers, and
then you kick Tommy Edmund out to the outfield, whether
it's left field or in center field.
Speaker 2 (00:21):

We love it, We love it. Julio Candellas is the

lots to talk about. We are in the off season.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
It is quiet. It is the rubor mill Clint. But
let's get to rumor. Has it all right? So per our.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Friends are esteemed colleague. Future Hall of Famer Ken Rosenthal,
in his most recent column on the athletic the Dodgers
apparently are linked to Cardinals outfielder Lars new Bar. I
mean they're one of the teams interested in a perhaps
union with Lars Newtbar. Okay, so Clint, how does he fit?
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah again the direct quote there in Ken's column. Dodgers
are among the teams interested in Newtbar, left handed hitting outfielder.
The Dodgers need a left fielder right now. I'm not
I'm not like super excited, super stoked, super thrilled about
the idea of Newbar. Think they can do a little
bit better. But he is. He has been good. He
(02:03):
has been pretty decent over the course of his career.
Not a great year last year for Lars Newtbar, but
generally has been above league average by weighted runs creded
plus by ops plus. Could work in a platoon if
we if this is the way that the Dodgers end
up going, uh could work on a platoon in left
field with Alex Call. Both of them kind of have
(02:24):
reasonable splits where you know, Loot Newtbar, you know, takes
the Lion's share of starts against right handed pitching. Alex
Call takes those Lions share against left handed pitching. What
new Bar seven sixty seven ops career against right handed
to pitching, Alex call seven forty eight ops against left
handed pitching. But again, this doesn't, with all due respect
(02:47):
to Lars Newbar, doesn't excite me for a team trying
to go, you know, for the second repeat in a
row wherever you want to say three in a row here.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Yeah, again, I don't.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
I just don't think that there is an that's going
to really be like wow for me, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
I think that there are certain folks that are.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Going to make me do that thing, but I just
don't think that an outfielder is one of them. Lars
Newt Bar makes me feel a little bit more confident
in a platoon situation with Alex called Lars Newtbar on
our opening day starting lineup. Makes me a little bit
more positive or confident. And let's say a Ryan Ward.
At this point in Ryan Ward's career, it doesn't need
(03:29):
to excite you though, you know what I mean, Like,
it doesn't have to be somebody that is like, oh
my god. I know, I know, but it's like it's like,
oh my god, we landed such and such outfielder, right,
It's like more of like this is a serviceable piece,
which I like. I would rather see Lars Newbar right
now in his stage of his career than Ryan Ward
(03:51):
in our starting lineup.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Do we need either? Not really?
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Again, what I said is we needed the closer we
got it in Edwin dy Is. I also said, like, okay,
I would take a really good, bona fide defensive center fielder.
But perhaps this is what we need. And the reason
why is because you, Clint Pius, put together a wonderful
graphic of what we could see on our opening day roster.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Look at the defensive lineup for the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
If in fact, Lars Newbar became a piece of this puzzle,
are we not showing that?
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Well, I don't. I don't have the Newtbar one because
I think instead, well, let let's wrap up Lars Nutbar
talk a little bit in saying I good baseball player.
I think they can do better. I think they can
do better offensively, defensively. Obviously that that's that's a question
that the should have. But thinking back to the last.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Year they struggled, is your better, Bobachett better?
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Is Bobaschet? That's what people are here for. Gout to
sound off in the comments. If you like Bobachett, that's
what I want to know, because I think the Dodgers
need to be bolder than a Lars Newberg. Lars new
Bar again, very good baseball player. They need to be boulder.
They need to just inject more offense into that lineup.
And Bobashet is one hundred percent more of a needle mover.
(05:10):
And he is somebody who is now apparently willing to
play second base. He's willing to be signed in free
agency as a second basement kind of taking that Marcus
Simeon play that he made with Toronto a couple of
years ago and then parlay that into a pretty nice
payday with the Texas Rangers. Yeah, is this the move?
Is this the move for the Dodgers? Because we have
not talked about Bo much at all this offseason. Somebody
(05:33):
you know in your time of covering the Blue Jays
here and there over the last couple of years, great
bat to ball guy. He's got some proven run producer.
I love him.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
I don't know, I do too.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
I just didn't think he was a possibility for the Dodgers,
Like he never even entered my radar as far as
Boba Ship. But it is obvious obviously he's a great shortstop,
but it is obvious that he is willing to change positions.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Right, So let's say he is willing to play second base.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
And ultimately I do think though, that if you're gonna
sign Bobaschet, you have to be thinking long term, correct,
because Bobaschet is looking for seemingly a seven to eight
year deal upwards of two hundred two hundred plus million dollars. Okay,
So if that's the case, maybe you sign him with
the Dodgers as a second baseman, keep Mookie at short
(06:20):
you put Bobaschet at second who he's willing, he's willing
to make the move. You have Max Munsey at third
until Max Munsey is no longer a everyday third basement.
If Bobaschet is willing later on in his career to
move to third, you take the bat, you take the defense,
you take the age, you take all the things. Like
Boba Schett to me, if he's not going to stay
in Toronto, which I would not be surprised if they
(06:42):
figured out a.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Deal, I would love Boba Schett.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
I would love Bobaschett for the next six seven eight
years as a Dodger.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Sure, yeah, in the age again, you mentioned the age
age is super on his side. He's twenty seven right now.
He'll he'll be twenty eight by the time opening Day
rolls around next year. The bat is there again, I
mentioned bat to ball. This is a dude who's led
the league a couple of times in hits in the
American League. He has a little bit of pop. He's
(07:10):
a postseason performer. But something we need to really take
into consideration. We've talked a lot about the Dodgers needing
an outfielder. Of course, we endured and survived Michael Confordo
in left field last year, where yeah, that was a
rough experience, But the Dodgers at second base were not
good offensively last year either. During the regular season. A
slash line two thirty nine with a two to ninety
(07:32):
three on base percentage and an only three fifty seven
slug Boba Schett immediately fix his second base for the Dodgers.
And then you kick Tommy Edmund out to the outfield,
whether it's left field or in center field. And now, Alana,
we could throw to that graphic. This is what the
Dodgers kind of I think the alignment would.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Look like love this.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
I love this.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
You keep tay Oscar, which means you keep the bat right,
So you move tey Oscar to left field. Obviously we
know that defense is is not the.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
Best part of his game. I think that's fair to
say tay Oscar and left. I love you.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Move Tommy Edmund to center, which we know that he
is a very very versatile player, can absolutely handle setter field.
You move Andy pat Has who has an absolute cannon
of an arm, you move him to right field. Muokie
of course, stays at short. Boba Schett is second, Max
is at third for the time being. You know, Freddie,
you know, show how you know. I love, love, love
this depth chart. If they signed Boba Schet, then you
(08:27):
have adults rushing as the backup to Will Smith Alex
call Kim platoon.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Obviously, I love this lineup. Let's do it. And where
is it?
Speaker 1 (08:37):
You know, Miggy Rose there, hessng Kim at the start
of the season at the bare minimum, should be uh
the utility guy that they kind of signed him for initially.
Another one of the reasons why I like the idea
of Boba Schett and I'll bring the chat in here
as well for everybody hanging out with us. Apparently we
got a Padres troll hanging out with us, so we
appreciate you hit thumb nail Cat's nail Cat, Carlos Garcia
(09:01):
and the Chad also saying no Kik. We'll talk about
Kik in a second, because he is a free agent
technically not a part of that. I'm not gonna put
two names who aren't on the Dodgers on that depth chart.
But the reason I really liked the idea of bobashet
as well is we know the Dodgers have a bunch
of outfielders at the minor league level, like a bunch
of prospect help potentially coming in the outfield. They are
(09:25):
thin in the infield, and you also are aging, you know,
a lot in the infield with Max, with with Mookie,
with Freddy and all of that. So you do inject
some youth with Bobaschett, You inject some consistency and length
if he is going to be around for like you said,
six seven, eight year deal. Some of the numbers, by
(09:45):
the way, people are saying he could surpass that Willia
Damas contract. For looking at projected contracts that was what
seven year, one hundred and eighty two million dollars a
year ago? Was that twenty six million? I think aav
XP has him at a near polar bear deal with
the five and one fifty. I mean, could be a
twenty five, could be a thirty million dollars a year player.
(10:08):
But the bat is that good, and he will be
less of a defensive liability at second base like as
he has been in his career as a shortstop. There's
a lot of things to love about Bobachett, but I
think in terms of adding a bat, adding like injecting real,
honest to god true offense to the lineup, Bobachet is
is the better the better answer between him? Liten this
(10:32):
the Kyle Tuckers Cody Bellinger.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Go, I'm not paying Kyle Tucker three hundred million to
be in our outfield.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
I'm not doing it. Not, I'm not doing it.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
No, It's like I'm just not doing that doesn't make
that doesn't make any sense. I would absolutely love Bobachet
because if you he's a solid defensive shortstop right and
you know, if you can play a very good major
League Baseball caliber shortstop position, I hate to say it
in face easier than short. So if he moves over
to second, he's only going to be that much better
(11:06):
defensively at second than he wasn't short. You have Mookie
at short, you have Dante or Dante I covered his dad.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
I have my apologies.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
You have Bo.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
I know I'm one thousand years old, but I did
cover his father as well. So there you have it.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
You have Bo at second, you have Mooki at short,
you have Max Muncie at third, you have Freddie at first.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
I love this. I love this.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
And if Mookie needs a spell, if Mookie needs a blow,
you move. You can move, you can move Edmund over there.
You can move Bo back to short for a hot second.
I love this now again, would I rather pay Bo
Baschett eight years two hundred million than Kyle Tucker five
years three hundred or whatever the heck?
Speaker 3 (11:42):
It's going to be absolutely absolutely yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
It's I don't know. Again, this is a lot of
things that make make a lot of sense for the deal.
I think, uh, you know, bo Age is better playing
second base. He looked good there. Even you know Pane
injured during the World Series. I mean, I think of
that Homer too, like, obviously it's a big game. Dude,
gates a game seven homer three run bomba off of
(12:09):
show Tani. Uh when that happened, you know, our hearts
are dropping, thinking, crap, the Dodgers are about to lose
this World series. Luckily, you know the boys, Max Maggie.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
And who who said that? Who said the Dodgers weren't
losing the World series? Who said that that?
Speaker 1 (12:24):
That lady right there, Yeah, that lady over there. Give
her her flowers, guys, she wants them. Boom all right,
Boom Boom must boo must die. It's not boom, it's
Boom must die. In the chat says I'm not talking smack. Dodgers. One.
Bo is god awful defensively and a terrible base runner,
bo Is Polanco, and you want to play him at
(12:45):
second base? Please do?
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Must be a Torontoquan.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Alana with an h the same Boom must die thirty
four Silana stop. Bo is terrible, terrible, He's terrible, all right,
Charles Barkley, Charles Barkley, I don't think he's terrible. I
think both is a really good defensive infielder. And you
know what, he doesn't have to be the dude in
LA and obviously they gave Vladimir Gerro Junior the bag,
(13:15):
which they should.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
He's a franchise player.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
I think BA would like to be that franchise player
in Toronto, but it may not work out that way,
but I think he can only I think if the
Dodgers get Bo Baschett, I think the upside is larger
than if they sign another massive free agent like a
Kyle Tucker or I do not want Bronberveldez for a
variety of reasons. If you look at ESPN dot com
(13:38):
just did an article. I want to say, it's a
show unfeld Field that just did this article about the
top free agent targets that are still out there right. Obviously,
Kyle Tucker is number one in their estimation, He's number one.
Number two is fromber Valdez. Number three is Cody Bellinger,
which actually surprised me. Number four is Alex Bregmant. So
it's like they don't even have Bobaschett as top five
(14:01):
or top four rather in terms of free agent targets,
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
I disagree.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
I think you would be if you're looking for the
future and you're looking for his age and what he
can bring you defensively, and the versatility and his willingness
to move around.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
I like it. I like it. I think he'd be
a great second baseman.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Yeah, I'm getting absolutely destroyed.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Well as I say, I will, I will help with
one thing. He is a bad defensive shortstop, and that
is why he's kind of resigned. And that was part
of Mark Finzin's article. It's like, hey, they're kind of
reading and reacting to the room, and the room does
not want him playing shortstop.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
For son. Then you play second, you play second.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Which is I think there's a lot of easier.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Defensively than shorts. Okay, fine, so he's not a great
defensive shortstop, but you know what, you move him over
to second, you put him at second, he's willing to
play third, and the dude rakes so fine.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
There's absolutely a lot of upside potential at second base.
Also working. Not no disrespect to the Toronto Blue Jays
and their coaching staff. I know a lot about the
Dodgers coaching staff, and I know how they maximize the
most out of their outfielders, most out of their infielders.
You know, think of Justin Turner, how much credit he's
given guys like like Chris Woodward for helping him become
(15:19):
the defensive third base when he became, you know, in
in his prime. Max Muntzi loves these dudes. Mookie loves
Dino ebl who is well, I guess he's outfield coach now,
but you know, all of these guys like the I
trust the Dodgers' coaching staff to maximize bobashett and also, hey,
let's just throw out last thing we'll talk about Bo,
throw out it down the road off if he can
(15:43):
potentially move over to third base. I think it's the
perfect the perfect free agent addition, I go ahead.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Isn't Isn't that the way that you kind of have
to look at things right like we I think you
and I and and fans in general are.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Like, what do we do right now?
Speaker 2 (15:58):
But I think also as a front office you have
to say, okay, what do we do right now to
three pete? But what is this going to parlay to
in the future in three or four years or whatever.
Whenever they decided to make the change for Max months,
see whether that's next year, two years from now, three
years from now, four years from now, when Max can't
do third every single day. Bo can slide into that spot.
(16:20):
And again, maybe not the greatest defensive shortstop, but he
could be a very good defensive second basement. He can
play third. I will take the bat.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Here's some questions, so ross Man Cairino seventy one to
thirty seven. Does Bo even have the arm strength for
third Bates? I don't know, Man, he hasn't played there
a time. Bola did at second and he could barely walk. Okay,
Maddie Man.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
You guys, no, no, because he was no, he was injured,
he came back, he hadn't played that entire postseason, had
I think the quad injury, and and you know, if
they had the ability to play him as the DH,
he would have been dhing in that World Series, but
they couldn't because George Springer was also injured. And I
think he looked I agree with with Matty Man. I
think he look good enough at second base while playing
(17:02):
on a bum leg. Hell yeah, you know.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
All right, let me ask you this, so bear as
some Alama, Okay, just al I don't need the I
don't need you.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
I love you, guys, but I don't need you to
pontificate yes or no is the only thing I'm asking
you get in the chat Right now, Clint and I
are going to really dive deep into the chat in
our next segment after the breaker, after we talk about
the Dodgers Territory Shop as a Dodger fan. Okay, yes
or no? Signing Boba shit, that's all I want.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Yes or no?
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Give us some nos in the chat, and how about
we tell people about the holiday sale going on with
the Dodgers Territory Shop. I'll take that for you. Guys,
consider supporting the show with some sweet Dodgers Territory swag.
I've got some Milana's, got some's. It's well built, it's
well manufactured, and you could save right now for the

We would appreciate it if you do that. And Riz,
(18:13):
you said, let's talk to the chat and we're going
to do that here in Bleeding Blue.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
I love that, love it, but I know it's so good.
Did you make that?
Speaker 1 (18:27):
No? No, I believe that is a credit to either
Jeremy Meyer or potentially Derek Lewandowski. I and pretty sure
it's Jeremy though, So either way, got a good group,
foul territory network, a lot of talented people.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
We do so before we go into the yes or
no questions, and we tally you this all up about
Boba shet, which is fine.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
I love it, and I love that you guys are participating.
Just let's keep it. Let's keep it clean and happy
and and respect not just respectful. I don't care.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
You can disagree with me, but just be just pre respectful.
I'm totally fine with that. I listen, listen. Many of
folk have disagreed with me, and that's totally fine. Let's
talk about Marcus Lynn Betts for a hot second. It
is uh out there, Yes he is, yeah, yeah, hang
with the chat. Uh that he is not playing in
the WBC. But he has a good reason. To me,
It's a little bit surprising, but a good reason. Mookie
(19:14):
Betts said on Aiden Ross's stream that he won't play
for Team USA in the twenty twenty sixth WBC because
his wife, Brianna is expected to give birth to their
third child around the same time. I did not know
that Brianna and Mookie were expecting their third child until today.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Remember when she got pregnant with their son, she was like,
this is it? I guess not.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
No, no, So apparently he's going to miss it for
good reason because Brianna said she would divorce his ass
if she if he wasn't there with her as she should.
The woman's given him a third child, all right, So
he's not on the WBC. But I have to say
the WBC team USA clymt Pass is stacked. Just no,
(19:56):
it's it's get It's there like kerrits Google is in,
Mason Miller is and obviously Paul Skis is in, Aaron
Judges in Bobby Wood Junior is and there's a lot
of really really good players.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Will Smith is back for the WBC.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
I love the interest.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
From I love that. I love that one two punch
of Scooble and Schemes Dodger fans looking at their future.
But that is going to be a fun one two punch.
I mean, it sucks that it's WBC. Obviously, these pitchers
are going to be somewhat limited, and they should be.
You know, they're not going to be going out there
throwing complete games or any of that kind of stuff.
But I don't know, all of a sudden, I feel
(20:35):
pretty confident in Team USA's chances against whatever Team Japan
throws out because it's going to be those two as
it usually ends up being. Yeah, so I got that
for you. That's it.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
I don't know. I think I think it's cool.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
I think I love the fact that the American players
are starting and good. And kudos to Mark de Rosa,
by the way, for like getting these guys interested in hyped.
Obviously the second year manager for WB SEE obviously as
a tremendous job. I don't I learned more from Mark
de Rosa, Oral Herscheizer, and Pedro Martinez than I do
any other analysts that are out there. Like if you
watch Mark de Rosa on MLB Central and MLB Network
(21:10):
Monday through Friday, he is a baseball savant.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
I learned so much from.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Him, and obviously as the manager from the World Baseball
Classic his second time around, he's getting guys to buy
in and I think.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
It's super super super duper cool. All Right, So there
you have it. Let's talk about the chat. Are we are?
Speaker 1 (21:29):
We? Yeah, Let's do that for a minute. And then
I mean I didn't tally, but but people in the
chat had had their thoughts and me kind of scroll
up here. There was a lot of yeses, a lot
of people being a fan Ethan's says no in the
chat there, but there overall are a lot of yes
is in the chat. Stanley's a no, A lot of
yes's for Bobaschett being the signing for the Dodgers. Again,
(21:52):
I think there's there's a lot of a lot of
positivity and not positivity. I think there's a lot of
positive reasons too. There's the positive outweighs the negative, is
what I'm trying to say. When it comes to Bobashett
and you know, signing with the Dodgers and the whole
idea of it, you know, being maybe thirty million a year,
whatever it is. If it's a William Damas contract, it's
not our money, ladies and gentlemen, we're not And maybe
(22:19):
just maybe you sign him, it doesn't necessarily preclude you
from also still adding an outfielder and getting even better
from there. Uh, it's hard to envision them landing, you know,
signing both Baschett and uh, let's say a Cody Bellinger.
But maybe it's me too, maybe it's Bashett.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
Also, you're not.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
Going to sign Cody for what Cody is looking for,
just to be a center fielder. I love the defensive
aligne because obviously Cody is not going to play first
because a.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Freddy and Party never takes a day off, so that's
not happening.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
So say that at the bottom of the go ahead.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
I love Taoscar, I know, I just love Taoscar moving
to left because you take the pressure off of him defend.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
You moved Tommy Edmund to center.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
He's very capable of playing a decent center field, you know,
and then you have right field. It's all taken care of.
Now it's fine. Like I don't know, I am, I
like this. Do what I'm calling him right now?
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Dave is saying bo and Harrison Bader for second base
and then center field for Harrison Bader. Again, that's the
type of move too, Harrison Bader. That is a net
gain for the Dodgers as well. They I do I
will reaffirm the fact that they need a little bit
more help offensively than I think I've even allowed myself
(23:37):
to process because you think, oh, this team won the
World Series, but they were they were pretty mid offensively.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
The only reason I agree with you in terms of
needing more offense is because they're just another year older,
right Like there, I mean, our team is aging, right, like,
aren't we all?
Speaker 1 (23:53):
But our team is kind of didn't hit in the
World Series.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Oh sure, sure, sure, but Yo Shinoba Yamamoto.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Thank you, he can hit. That'd be nice.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
Oh no, no, but you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Like the pitching. The pitching was good. Our starting pitching
was really good.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
And I got some more from the chat beeras Sama
earlier in the chat says, I'm more preferable to a
Cody signing or even Harrison Bader for up to me
out of trade for Duran and we're set. Yeah, I
mean Jared Duran is also a very good addition trade
for Duran signed Boba Schett Hell yeah, why not? Philip
saying I like bo But can Tommy Tanks cover center field?
Because I like that too? The ouch in left field Tommy, Yeah,
(24:32):
he did have ankle surgery a couple of weeks ago.
He's expecting to be I don't think he's gonna miss
too much time. There is the chance he can miss
maybe a couple of days or a week or two
into the start of the regular season, but he's expecting
to be kind of close ish to full go at
the start of spring training. So depends on what his
conditioning is at that point before he could you know,
(24:56):
they make that determination of he's gonna be, you know,
an opening day roster guy. It does not I don't
think opening day roster means shit. It's it's all performative.
It's all like people.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
You know, it's the same thing for sure. I mean
it is.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
It is a milestone in your career, but it's also
like the whole thing, like your opening day starter one time,
you know what I mean, Like it's just you happen
to be the number one dude, but it's like you're
all cycling through, you know. It's I don't know, I
don't I don't put that much stock into I do
it based on like, yeah, kursh was like our opening
day starter ten eleven times whatever, and then Walker got
it and whatever. That's fine, but honestly, it doesn't matter.
(25:33):
It's like whatever it falls on based on what your
spring training schedule was.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Yeah, I agree, I agree, and health and all that
kind of stuff. I love this, uh this from David Lee.
It's an important factor for in the positive column from
Lars Newbar because it helps Dodgers break into the Japanese
market if they trade for Lars Nucar brother.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
Because first of all, David, I love, I love, I
love your humor, because yeah, the Dodgers are really having
trouble signing signing Japanese players. But Lars Newpark, whose mom
is Japanese, that will really break it wide open for
all the Japanese players to realize how great La is
and that it should be destination.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
You're funny. You are funny.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
That's me the one just that tilts us over. Got
a couple of super chats, one from Richie in the
earlier four nine nine. You'll be surprised that has with
going to his house. So we will honor Mana Machado
at Dodger Stadium before bo is a Dodger. And since
I failed to get Alana at the devor Man Cave,
how about Katie Wu.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
Here's a couple of things. Here's a couple of things, Richie,
I love you. Number one, Number two, learn how to
spell my name. Number three, we will definitely have Bobachette
before we ever honor Manny Machado at Dodger Stadium. Number four,
give Katie Woo a hot second to get acclimated. And
number five, there was somebody in here that said, too, Richie.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
He was he Richie?
Speaker 2 (26:55):
You like like trying to get a bunch of women
at your house.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
Is a little creepy. Something to that effect. Is what this?
Where is?
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Where is his?
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Damnit? Where I will?
Speaker 1 (27:08):
I will search for creepy and see if it pops up.
The Philip Philip female analyst to your cave is getting
kind of creepy with a winkie fish.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Listen, he's not wrong, but there is another ten dollars superschat.
Let's bring up our friend, the truth seeker dot RB.
It says Alana, I disagree that Bo is good defensively anywhere. Okay,
you guys, I'm sorry, Jesus, Mercy and Joseph, all right,
here is a very good he is a very good bat.
I can see the Jay's crying. We don't need you.
Then he hits a three yearund home run to beat
Jays again. Yes to signing, all right, So basically that
(27:44):
whole thing was yes to signing both. Okay, I get it,
he's not the greatest defensive player in the world, but
I think he'll be a very good defensive second baseman. Okay,
easier than short defensively, and he can hit a little bit.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Rosmond with the chat of the show so far. The
chat can be weird at times, absolutely, and we love
y'all for it. Rosman asking also, I'm left handed. I
am left handed. I don't know where that came up from,
but I am. But I do most things right handed.
And beer Sama saying, Bra, we'll honor Michael Befodo before
we honor Manny Machao. There was another one I had,
(28:20):
and then one more. There's two more things and then
we will we'll talk about a doggo in a second.
But Kenneth asked a little bit to go, why don't
we leave Tommy at second base, move Tao back to
left field because he's horrible and right, move Paes to
the right field, and go get a center fielder. I
mean that is one of the options. That's something I think, yeah,
you have been on that.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Big job, don't don't.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
I don't disagree with Kenneth at all, like I don't
disagree with them. My only point to this was saying,
if you happen to sign Boba Schett, that you don't
need to do that. But yes, I'm with you. I
would love to see Tayo and left. I'd love to
see Tommy at second. I would love to see Pajes
and right. And then you get a center fielder, whether
that's Belly or somebody else. I don't know Stephen Kwan,
(29:01):
I don't know. I don't know if Steve. I don't
know what the transition for Stephen Kwan from left to
center would be.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
He's never I've not seen a lot of him playing centerfield.
My guess is it's not that great. I haven't the
slightest But no, I'm with you. I would be fine
with that too. But what center? What what is the
center fielder that it's going to be? Who's who's it
going to be?
Speaker 1 (29:19):
Yeah, there aren't a lot of options. I mean, free
agent wise, it's kind of only Cody Bellinger and he's
taken a few steps back and at the position. Jaron
Duran has played mostly center or left field for the
Red Sox in his career. He's definitely got some center
field in there. But yeah, the centerfield options I.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
Don't think the best.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
I just don't think Cody Bellinger is going to take
a short term deal with Scott as his agent. Like
I still, I still think Cody is looking for like
the bigger contract, the three, four or five year deal
that he really.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
Hasn't gotten yet.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
It's funny though, because Cody was number three on ESPN
dot COM's free agent target list and Bobachhet wasn't even
in the top four, which I which I said, but.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Well I got this then. For for we call this
engagement baiting. Guys, hit that thumbs up button here on
the video. If you want Boba Schett to be a Dodger,
hit that thumbs up button. If you want Cody Belacher
to be a Dodger, hit that thumbs up everybody. Boob Yeah,
boom night. If you want Boob Nightingale to be in
the chat, hit that thumbs up says, did somebody say weird?
(30:22):
Count me in hell? We always love boob in here
and Cole by Cole how much to get Richie to
stop begging people to venish.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
Has anybody checked on Diane Schroeder? Is she good?
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Is she in the cave? She said she she lives.
She has been there multiple times and has been able
to escape. So good on, good on that he has
not abducted anybody. Uh, list In reality, Richie's a good dude.
He's a sweetheart. I want everybody to know that we
we mess with him, We bully him because he's a friend.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
I am not.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Saying that Richie. Richie is a wonderful human. Only we
we kid because we care. But somebody, please check on?
Someone check on?
Speaker 1 (31:02):
All right you guys, hold on wait, I have one
more thing for you before we move on to last licks.
Really it's turned into a long show. Wasn't expecting that,
but uh, we probably would have made sense a little
bit earlier. But is the Dodgers re signing or the
Dodgers reunion with keyk Hernandez the worst kept secret in baseball?
(31:23):
I asked that, and then I played this clip from
KEYK with David Veasse on the a of five seventy
from the weekend. We need Key k Hernandez back for
a three p don't we it feels like it's it's
not a matter of if, but just when. Does it
feel that way to you?
Speaker 4 (31:43):
I mean, yeah, but of course I just had surgery
and I'm not gonna be ready for opening days, so
there's no rush. You know. If it ends up working
our way and we come back to la all that
matters is that I'm ready for the second half and
ready to do my thing in uptil.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Does that sound like a man that doesn't already know
there's a deal in place to come back.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
This sounds like a man that was in the exact
same situation last year but just knows that he's coming
back later because he had surgery. He's not gonna be
ready until the second half of the season. Kind of
like Evan films. This is the greatest thing ever. Kyk
is going to be back when it matters the most key.
K is such an instrumental part of all of the
Dodgers postseason runs since he became a Dodger when he
came over.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
He can enjoy the birth of his son that's going
to happen soon with Mariana, his wife. He can he
can get healthy and we'll see you in the second
half when it matters the most. And no, it's it's
a terribly kept secret, but it's a secret that I love.
It's a it's a non secret that I love so
much because there's no place in the world that he
can't would come back for free, Okay, I would pay
(32:48):
key K's salary if I had money. That's where he's
supposed to be.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
It's one of those like like just really bad big
winks that that's what it feels like to me. But
I just want to throw that out there. Guys, don't worry.
Keik will be back and then we will be able
to put him on the depth chart eventually, and that
will probably boot Hessan.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
You should do you should put him on the mound.
Put him on the mound.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
No, never again, never again. Please. Hey, let's let's let's
get to last.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
Licks, all right, guys, let's do this. Let's get this
papa home. This is Havanah.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
She is so so sweet.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
She is healthy, she is vaccinated, she is leash trained,
she has potty trained.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
She's great with other dogs.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
She needs a dog that matches her energy, though she
should not be with the dog of the senior dog
or doesn't want anything to do with anybody else. She
should be with an extrovert, not an introvert, because she
herself is an extrovert. She actually came into the Gidrey's
Guardian family emaciated, starved. Ironically, she followed my best friend's
husband into their home. And she is just begging for
(34:01):
help and she got it. She's healthy, she's happy, she's sweet,
she's lovable. She needs an adopter. She's being fostered in Lahaboro, California.
Let's give Pavana a home for the holidays. Please reach
out if you're interested. She's so, so, so sweet. She's
a great, great girl. She's great with other dogs, she's
great with kids. She's just really great, So please share her.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
She seems like in a very adorable pupper. And if
we didn't already have two dogs and three cats in
the house, maybe I would be looking for another dogg Oh,
but we are full. We are overloaded because help out
Didchari's Guardian for the holiday season. Final thing we got
for the day is Dodgers made more money, you know,
(34:44):
after the World Series here by winning the World Series.
I don't know if we saw this a lot of
but the postseason shares were announced and the Dodgers getting
themselves nearly half a million dollars. Eighty two players were
awarded full shares of that four hundred and eighty four
thousand dollars. Pretty good, pretty good life changing money there
for some.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
Yeah, it is life changing. It's it's life changing for
a lot of folks. It just does not just go
to the players. It goes to a lot of support staffs,
to support staff too, And the Dodgers have to vote
on who gets what. There are portions of shares every player,
every full time player obviously gets a full share, which
is almost half half a million dollars, as you guys
can see it there. But this is life changing money
(35:26):
for like the bullpen catchers, some some support staff in
the medical department. And again it's this is what happens
when you are a really good team. You know you
can distribute the wealth amongst your staff and amongst your
support team, and good for them. And this is why
I always said broadcasters should get shares, and not one
time did they say, yes, Alana, we agree with you.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
What about IoT podcasters? Huh?
Speaker 2 (35:52):
If I didn't get a freaking share, there's no way
we are now getting a freaking share. No, no, no, no,
but five hundred grandly four and eighty it's already spent
in my head, even though I didn't get it.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Yeah. If if somebody gave you five hundred grand right now,
but you had to spend it by tomorrow, what are
you buy in?
Speaker 3 (36:10):
Oh? Damn, I had to spend it by tomorrow?
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Yeah, why not?
Speaker 2 (36:14):
I would buy house and no, no, no, I'd buy
my sister a house in North Dakota because I can
afford a house in North Dakota for that amount of money.
And then I would fly to Champagne, France and drink
really good Champagne on Emirates first class.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
Of course.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
Let's see, I'd probably uh, i'd probably definitely get Can
are you ever to like payoff debt? I would wonder
about that.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
I don't. I don't. I don't have any I.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
Don't have I don't have five hundred thousand dollars in debt.
I'll say that much. I would either ask for a
swimming pool filled with five hundred thousand dollars in cash
on mark bills or I'm marked, or get myself a
super mega yacht and just kind of uh, you know,
go from there you mega yacht, need star link and
then I'll be doing DT live from my boat every
(37:06):
day on the ocean. Shout out your boy.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
That's actually funny that you would get a yacht before
you got like a massive like RV, because you're such
a camping dude.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
I'm surprised you would r V.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
Camping isn't not the same. I guess I would need
a try. You know, you know what I need. I need.
I need to buy me a boat. I need a
truck to pull it. I need a yetti. I down
bullets just so silver bullet.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
I need a boat.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
May can buy me a boat. Guys, thanks for hanging
out with that.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
By the way, By the way, Indigenous sixty nine, the
Dodgers Pearson Watson a World Series. She gets one, bro
Calm down, she gets one. All right, guys, we'll see
you on Monday.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
So Dodgers buye by buy our stuff. Also subscribe to
us and uh we could should maybe potentially be having
a special guest joined to next week.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
So by the way, by the way, there will be
a special guest. Also. By the way, someone send
Speaker 2 (38:06):
Me four hundred eighty two thousand dollars so I feel
like I got a share, Bye bye,
