Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is at a great question. Is this a distraction
to Andrew? I would imagine anything pulling away from one
hundred percent focus on the Dodgers, even as small of
a role as it may be with the Lakers, it's
got to at least present a little bit of a distraction.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Hi, everybody, and welcome to a brand new episode of Dodgers'
Territory on this Monday, November twenty fourth, the Monday before Thanksgiving.
Alana Riso Clint to see us with you here your
host for the next half an hour. Thank you for
being with us. Get involved in the chat. We love
to have you guys. Don't forget rate us five stars
(00:45):
like us, subscribe all of the things. As we are
trying to get to fifteen thousand subs, we would love
it so much if you guys helped us get there.
We appreciate it very very much. We've got a lot
of rumors to talk about, and that's all it is. Clint,
It's just but first, my friend, you wanted to go
over some news surrounding our sport in the big ticket.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Let's do it. Got some Dodger stuff to talk about.
How about that?
Speaker 2 (01:12):
We do have some Dodgers stuff to talk about. And
the biggest thing I think since the last time you
and I were together on the air is we had
discussed three of the candidates that could be non tendered
by the Los Angeles Dodgers, and we thought perhaps Evan
Phillips would be one of those just because of the
price tag associated with his name, and Clint that's exactly
who it was, also non tendered pitching prospect Nick Frosso
(01:35):
to bring the forty man roster to thirty seven. But
obviously the big news here is Evan Phillips. He was
projected to bring in what six point one million? Ken
Rosenthal on X saying that he was non tendered by
LA now a free agent underwent Tommy John surgery on
June fourth. Now, this does not mean, guys, that Evan
Phillips will not be a Dodger in twenty twenty six.
What it means is that he will not be a
(01:56):
Dodger at the projected six point one or at least
under the exact same contract terms. So if he does
come back, they will have to redo the deal to
make it more. My guess is team friendly.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
I mean team friendly, player friendly to a degree? This,
in my opinion, This was not about the money. This
was about the roster spot. We've talked about it. The
Dodgers are in dire need of space on the forty
man roster. It's now, as you mentioned at thirty seven,
after they cut e Philly and they cut Nick Frosso
from the forty man roster. If you want to make
any splashes, any sort of moves, any signings, blockbuster deals, whatever,
(02:31):
you got to have space on that forty man roster
to place a player. But with Evan Phillips, you know
the expectation he's not going to be back until second
half of the season at best, as he returns from
Tommy John surgery. I see this being one of those
situations like we've seen in years past, kind of a
little bit, you know, with Clayton Kershaw, you kind of
(02:52):
had it with keik A for different reasons. But there
is a strong likelihood I would put good money on
the fact that the Dodgers and Evan Phillips will reunite.
They will come together on an agreement closer towards spring training,
most likely as soon as the sixty man sorry, the
sixty day injured list opens as spring training camps open,
(03:16):
That's when you will see Evan Phillips and the Dodgers
come to agreement on probably some sort of one and
one sort of deal, you know, an option for a
second year. But there's a lot of interest I think
on both sides in a reunion. Evan Phillips knows that
this is a team that is the best setup to
try to win a title. I think he would like
to be a part of the third one. He wasn't
able to be a part of that second one in
(03:37):
the middle, so we could have himself a little like
title Sandwich where he was pitching and being an important
part of it. But yeah, do you think that does
these two sides come back together.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
I definitely do. I mean, he's not going to pitch
for anybody until the second half of the season, right
because of the whole Tommy John surgery situation anyway, so
he's going to miss at least the first half of
next year. They don't need him on a roster spot
in period, So you're right. I think once the sixty
day I L opens up, then you're going to see
Evan Phillips kind of work his way back into the mix.
(04:08):
Regardless of what the contract terms are. Probably a probably
I would imagine a team option for twenty twenty seven
based on how he does in twenty twenty six, obviously
coming off of the surgery. But I do not think that. Yeah,
perhaps I do not see you know, I would not
be shocked and say if Evan Phillips was back with
the Los Angeles Dodgers, they just don't need him on
(04:29):
their right now as they move forward for the first
half of the two thousand. Again, this team is built
for October right, so for the first half of twenty
twenty six, they need the roster spot, it doesn't need
to be occupied by him. So there you have it.
Some other news, Clint, and this is very interesting to me,
and at first I thought it was joke, but then
I realized as I saw more credible sources talking about it,
(04:50):
is in fact the truth. So Andrew Friedman, the president
of Baseball Operations, and far Anxiety obviously in the front
office with the Los Angeles Dodgers as well, are two
key executives with the LA Dodgers. We know this. They've
taken on advisory roles with the Los Angeles Lakers as
part of the ownership transition from the Bus family. Of course,
Jerry buss Genie Bus, the brother busses that are super
(05:14):
pissed off right now to Mark Walter. Multiple sources told ESPN.
This is from Romona Shelburne, who covers the NBA for ESPN.
And again, I don't know exactly what the rule is.
Advisory role could mean a lot of different things. My
question is what is the rule? I guess at what
capacity and how much does this take away if it
(05:36):
does at all, from what they're doing with Los Angeles Dodgers.
I know that Mark Walter holds both Andrew and Farhant
in high regard. Otherwise Farhunt would not have been welcomed
back after he was let go from the San Francisco Giants.
And obviously, if you're going to run a team in LA,
why not run it with the blueprint of the Dodgers.
(05:56):
The Lakers would like to have that type of success
that the Dodgers we're having right now.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Yeah, we're talking about the blueprint there. If you are
trying to build the model of a perfect organization, you
you probably follow the Dodgers. And the good thing is
the Dodgers and now the Lakers they have the owner
of the Dodgers. You have the front office of the Dodgers,
be like, hey, come over here, check this out real quick.
You know, I guess if you have a you know,
one of the best architects around, you kind of take
(06:24):
a little bit of an inspiration from them. But yeah,
more from that story from Ramona, Farhand is said to
have probably a larger role between him and Andrew Friedman.
Andrew Friedman is supposed to be consulting more on the,
I think, the player side of things with Rob Polinka,
the president of Basketball Ops. But it is a great,
great question, is this a distraction to Andrew? I would
(06:47):
imagine anything pulling away from one hundred percent focus on
the Dodgers, even as small of a role as it
may be with the Lakers, it's got to at least
present a little bit of a distraction. And Hey, just
has so happens that we're having the slowest winter that
I I mean a slower winter that I was anticipating
that I was.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
That's what I'm talking about this right now.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
That's why we're talking about this right now. But I listen,
Andrew Friedman is a super genius, is smart dude. He
has this you know, good good quality of flannel button downs,
to wear for no reason I bring that up. But
I think he could. He could manage, you know, working
a little bit with Rob Polinka to be like, hey,
that's a stupid move, or hey, you should probably give
(07:29):
you know, Luca all the money in the world to
stay here, because he makes the organization better. He's going
to bring put butts in the seats and maybe hopefully
don't bring back Lebron James if he wants to come
back for another year or something like that.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
But you know what's funny that you say that, though,
is I wonder how Rob is going to receive this.
I think I'd be kind of like, who were you, dude?
Like you know baseball? You don't know basketball? You know
what I mean? Like, I don't know that the transition
is that simple. Yeah, but I will say this, Okay,
let's just put on your I don't know, are you
a Lakers fan? Yeah, all right, so I put on
(08:03):
your Lakers fan cap for a moment, or even your
Lakers front office cap for a moment. What is your
first order of business if you were to advise Rob
Polinka and now Mark Walter, the primary owner, the principal
owner of the Los Angeles Lakers. What's your first order
of business to get this team back on to where
you know, the showtime Lakers. Not the same group of guys,
(08:23):
I get it, but back to that prominent you know,
annual in the postseason and contending every single year.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Yeah, I mean for me being kind of more on
the outside looking into the Lakers of recent vintage because
you're so focused, I'm so focused on Dodger stuff. I'm like, listen,
I have a finite amount of bandwidth. I'm willing to
give up. But that said, it's been pretty painfully apparent
for a while. The Lakers have not been a destination
for NBA stars to want to come and sign and
(08:53):
play here. The Dodgers, on the other hand, are a
destination that is a destination organization, even if it is
in Las An Angels with all the garbage traffic and
all the issues and the high taxes and YadA YadA.
That would make a multi million dollar, multi billion dollar
player potentially not want to sign for an LA organization.
Players still want to come. Baseball players still want to
come play with the Dodgers for a reason. And yeah,
(09:15):
they're building, you know, title teams, they are winning championships,
Lakers won in twenty twenty and then couldn't really get
back over the hump again because they weren't able to
add quality talent. They've been in on big names, but
are never really able to lend them. Even the Luca
thing that happened, that's a trade, that's not all I
am free of my own free volition. I'm going to
(09:37):
sign and play basketball here. They have to find a
way to make the Lakers, make the Lakers great again
as it were. I really love getting rid of the
bus bros right away. I think, just really signaling that
we mean business with a move like that. It, you know,
put smile on my face, hoping that the Lakers can
(09:57):
you know, build build back into being what they were.
But that's my first order of business, finding a way
to make players want to come play here again. And
you know, they great start to the season so far
for them. I think they're what twelve and four something
like that. Eke out a win last night, but it's
it's the dawn of a fun, good, wonderful, hopefully prosperous
(10:23):
time again for Lakers basketball with Mark Walter in there,
and hopefully Friedman is able to do enough without taking
away too much from his primary role in getting us
that third ring in a row.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Well, I tell you what, if there is an ownership
group that you should be excited about, if you are
a Los Angeles Lakers fan, is Googa time. It is
Mark Walter, the controlling interest in the team. They spend money,
They care about culture. You know, I saw a comment
here in the chat. I think it was from Philip Fountain,
(10:56):
our friend Walter Friedman and Farhan will change, the culture
will become clear, and professional department heads will be upgraded.
I don't disagree with that. There is one comment in
this chat that I have to absolutely bring up before
we move on, because it's the most asinine comment I
think I've seen in three years that you and I
have done Dodger's territory. If I could find it, it
(11:18):
was early on in the chat. So I apologize, but
I can't. I cannot possibly, I cannot possibly move forward
until I find this dang chat or this dank comment.
Where is it? Damn it dap something about I think
it was, oh, this little son of a gun, where
are you? All right? Talk keep hawking and I'll find
(11:38):
this first.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
We'll find it. Well, we have, we have at least
a super chat. Also from Smurfy twenty four. Dowey Doo,
I don't know it's but nine ninety nine from Smurfy
twenty four. I appreciate you saying I love both my
Dodgers and Lakers, and love that Mark Walter now owns
the Lakers, but not a fan of Freedman being an
advisor for the Lakers. So let's keep the main thing
the main thing, and repeat and go ahead to actually
repeat there, and I love that sense as well. Again,
(12:01):
if it does take away too much from Andrew, hopefully
he acknowledges that and and steps back into his role. Luckily,
Dodgers also have so many other free agent members or
front office guys.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
There is also a thing Mark Walter, who is Andrew
Friedman's boss. Okay, Mark Walter owns the team, so he's
everybody's boss. If Mark Walter asks you to be an
advisor to a ice cream truck at the beach, you
have to say yes. Like he's not going to say
no to Mark Walter. I also believe, though, that Andrew
Friedman has instilled enough quality people around him that he
(12:35):
can do this advisory role and nothing is going to
go by the wayside, as far as I think he
trusts the team that he's built around him to continue
to be I don't think Andrew Friedman is much of
a micro manager. I mean, I don't know. I've not
worked directly for him, but I think the Dodgers are
going to be fine. On that note, I found it
Pablo Barndo two two two one. Helana spelled my name wrong.
(13:01):
I haven't had a chance to tell you that your
Broncos got lucky against my Raiders. Number one. Bro, we're
nine and two, you've won two games. I think Chip
Kelly just got fired. Suck it, okay, AFC West is ours, Pablo,
all right, now, I got that off.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Of my chest. I was wondering if it was that chat.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
I was wondering, yeah, oh, that's that's the thing, Poblo.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
I'm not in a position to want to talk about
football today because my egles on in the second what happened?
Speaker 2 (13:32):
So I saw it was like fourteen to nothing, and
then I was like, oh, geez, whatever, I mean, the
Cowboys are terrible issue, right, So then I was and
then Chris, my husband, was like, oh, you know, the
Eagles ended up losing that game.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
I was like, oh, yeah, I saw I saw a
score because I was driving back from yet another camp,
the final technic sort of technical, not technical, final camp
of the year yesterday, and I turned on the Google
just to see what time of Like are they playing?
I didn't know, but it's all twenty one nothing. I
was like, I asked myself in the car. I'm like,
the Cowboys really just that bad? And then I get
(14:04):
home and it's twenty one twenty one and I was.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Like, oh crap, yeah, didn't they have twenty four unanswered?
I'm sorry about that. Fly Eagles Fly. I guess they did. Not.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
All right, we have so much to eight and three.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Yeah, okay, that's fine. We're not nine and two. And
the only reason we're not ten and two is because
we had a bye. Anyway, much more to come on Dodgers' territory,
but first, a word from our good friends at foul Hey.

a salary for this show, so we do this because
we love it. But support us if you do not mind. Guys,
all right, toss now Clint to CEUs to rumor has it?
Speaker 1 (16:17):
You know? You know is I really wish we had rumors,
actual substantial things to talk about. This really should be
more of like a hypothetical segment, But we don't have
that graphic and it is somewhat based in rumors for
us to start. So last week I got it just
a hypotheticals graphic, No, because then I'll I would use
that way too much. But you know, last week I
(16:40):
got annoyed. I got annoyed because there was this Corey
seeger non rumor that came out there. Dodgers fans kind
of I think they are also bored and wanting something
to happen so far, or just to kick off this
offseason or whatever. But so there was an article from
(17:01):
Evan Grant, who covers the Texas Rangers, and he had
stated in his article, you know, the Rangers were said
to be trying to clear some payroll and one of
the guys they could look at theoretically trading. Could somebody
who could be an option this Cory Sieger at one
hundred and eighty six million dollars over six years. And
it's crazy how long he's already been away from the Dodgers.
And I see Justin in the chat saying Seagre incoming,
(17:22):
and I agree. And that's the thing that annoyed me
is that people were kind of trying to create this thing.
It is more of a again fan driven thing than
actual sources. But it stemmed from that report that the
Rangers were trying to cut payroll. I didn't want to
talk about it. My my all Dodgers co hosts brought
it up as a potential topic. Is like, no, this
is not a thing. Like it frustrates me to know
(17:42):
end that people are trying to manufacture this thing as
a Oh my god, Corey is coming back, and then
you get the idiot aggregator sites that try to be like, oh,
the you know this is they're in tox Like no, no,
there's literally nothing nothing happening. So be that as it
may that there's nothing happening. There's also the logistics of
Corey needing to be okay with being traded, which, as
(18:04):
you know Corey Seger, I can't imagine him okaying a
trade with the trade protection, you know, the no trade
clauses that he has in his contract. He would not
probably want to come back to it.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
I don't I don't think so. And here's the deal.
Well again, and I don't know. It is not the gospel.
This is what I believe to be the case. If
Corey Seger wanted to be in LA, he would have
been in LA, right, he would not have entertained even
going to the Texas Rangers to begin with that being said,
he in my estimation or my guess is that I
(18:37):
believe he has eight teams on his no trade list.
The Braves are one of them. I don't know if
the Dodgers are. I would imagine that he would be
willing to come back if it made the most sense.
I just don't think this makes sense for Corey. I
don't think he wants to be back in Los Angeles.
I do really think he wanted to go to Texas.
And by the way, do we need Corey? Seeger And
(18:59):
I know that's ounds crazy. I love Corey. I remember
I was Corey's first ever interview at the big league level,
when he got drafted, when he got called up, all
of the things. I've seen Corey grow into the man,
the husband, the father that he is now. I've known
him for a very long time. But do we need
Corey back at short He's not going to go to third,
at least if he's he's not going to go to
third anytime soon. We have Muncie there, we know that
(19:20):
for at least one more year. I just don't see
I don't see the connection. We don't need a shortstop,
you know what I mean. We don't need a shortstop.
We don't need a second basement, we don't need a
third baseman. We need a bonafide defensive center fielder in
my opinion, and we need a bonafide closer. In my opinion,
that's not Corey. I just don't see where this makes sense, right,
I mean, yes, It's like in football when you're going
(19:42):
through the draft and you're in the war room. You
want the best available player on the board, right, and
you'll take that guy and you'll figure it out. The
Dodgers don't need a shortstop, so if they are in
fact the Texas Rangers wanting to cut payroll, which it
seems like they want to do, considering they traded Marcus
Semi into the New York met for Brandon Nimo. Albeit
Brandon Nimo has more left on his deal, but it's
(20:04):
two more years than what Simon had left. I think
Semyon's three for seventy two and Nimo's like one hundred
and two and a half for five more years or
something like that. It just doesn't make sense. A reunion
with Corey makes less sense than like a reunion with Belly,
who is a good center fielder. I know a lot
of people don't want Belly back either. You can't always
(20:26):
go home. I understand that. I just don't see a
universe in which Seeger back to the Dodgers with one
hundred and sixty eight million to play shortstop. It makes sense.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
The only way it would make Yeah, the only way
it would make sense is, yeah, it would make sense
if he were open to, you know, playing third base,
moving very quickly to third base, and you know months
could play second. You can figure out a way to
kind of massage the lineup. But Corey Segers would be
the best third baseman, arguably the best third basement in baseball.
He moved to third base. But I remember all those conversations.
(20:59):
I remember all the headlines. No, Corey Seeger is not
going to move the shortstop. He does not want Sorry,
he's not going to move to third base. He does
not want to be a third baseman. He didn't want to.
Then he wants to be as shortstop as long as
he can, the longer as long as he can. The
longer he is out there playing shortstop, the more he's
going to compile numbers and try to become one of
the best shortstops of all time, are the best offensive
(21:19):
shortstops of all time. But the point of the matter
is there is no rumor. There never was a rumor. Again,
it was a hey, this is a possibility. This is
that point of the offseason where you have columnists saying
like this is one route where the Texas Rangers.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
Yeah, and I understand what Evan is saying. Oh, I
understand exactly. And I like Evan Garen. He does a
very good job for the Dallas Morning News. He's covered
the Texas Rangers for a very long time. He's come
on foul. He's a good journalist. He knows what he's doing.
He's in that clubhouse every day. But I think what
he's just saying, like, if in fact, the Rangers are
going to want to completely, you know, dismantle the team
and save some money. Corey Seeger has one hundred and
(21:58):
eighty or sixty eight million or whatever it was attached
to him, that is a way to do it. But
there's a lot of different steps that have to happen
in order for that to happen. And I just don't
see a reunion with the Los Angeles Dodgers making any sense.
They non tendered Jonah him, which kind of surprised me.
They also let Adolise, if you say it correctly, Garcia go.
(22:19):
He is coming off some down years. Clinton, You and
I were talking about this in our production meeting of Garcia.
Would it make sense for the Dodgers in your estimation,
to take a flyer on Garcia.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
You know, yeah, you mentioned coming off some down years.
Dude still has a little bit of pop, could maybe
be got for cheap at this point. Definitely every bit
of a rebound candidate. And I know our buddies over
on Dodger Blue talked about the idea of Adules at
Olise Garcia being a potential like, hey, somebody Dodgers could
take a flyer on. I don't think this is a
take a flyer type of offseason. But looking at these numbers,
(22:53):
I mean, twenty two to twenty three, even twenty one,
phenomenal player like he had, he could also like kind
of flag him down a little in the outfield or
at least was not a negative on defense in the outfield.
But when you're talking about being a masher, a run producer,
that was him. Then they won the World Series and
the fall off was one thousand billion percent real for Garcia.
(23:16):
But I again, I'll stand on the idea that this
is not the off season of taking a flyer. This
is not the twenty twenty two Dodgers, this is not
another off season of Okay, let's let's find the Michael
Conforto that can hopefully work. I don't like Garcia in
that situation. Plus you know he would have to move
to left field or tay Oscar moves to left field,
and all that you're not getting The goal is you're
(23:38):
not getting necessarily younger, you're not getting better. You need
a defender. And I agree with you in saying that ideally,
the best case scenario they go out there and they
landed a center fielder because it just gives you a
lot more options that Sandy Paie has can't handle it
in center.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
But Clint, I have a way that you can give
Andy Pajz a little bit of a break. Here is
my hypothetical. Okay, we're talking about And the only reason
you and I brought this up because when we do
our production meetings, we were talking about the Marcus Semon
trade to brandon Nimo. When that went down, the one
for one I thought was really interesting, right. That was
like I was like, really, this is happening right now?
(24:17):
And then I kind of like they're not the same
type of guy, right, I mean, Marcus Semion is unbelievably
good defensively. So I asked my number one met fan
in the world what he thought about the trade, and Stearns,
remember who used to be with the Brewers and now
is obviously the front office with the New York Mets
is really pressing defense, right, Marcus Semion is still an
unbelievably good defensive second baseman. And also remember Marcus Semion
(24:41):
two years ago posted every single day, so you know
you can ride him in the lineup. You know he's
good defensively. Not to say Brandon Nemo is not a
good a good bat, He's just it's just a little
bit different in terms of the glove for Marcus Simeon.
So you and I were talking about hypotheticals for me
enter Byron Buxton of the Minnesota Twins, okay, for center field,
(25:02):
and I understand there was a little bit of pause
there because I was like, well, wait a minute, what
about the injuries? Hold on, I did my own research here.
I know you're shocked he played. He was. He was
an All Star last year. Okay, he played in one
hundred and twenty six games. And if anybody, honestly, if
anyone can keep Byron Buxton healthy, it's the Dodgers. Okay.
(25:22):
So Byron Buxton for hear me out on this, because
I just don't think we need him at the moment,
not to say that he's not a good arm Emmett
Shean and a B level prospect that gives you a
bona fide good defensive center fielder, a guy that has
a little bit of pop, a guy that obviously hits
for average, is a doubles machine, can run a lot,
(25:43):
and you get a B level prospect in addition to Buxton,
or excuse me, you give up a B level prospect
and you give a Vemage she Hint who probably could
get us a legit starting every fifth day job someplace else.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
I mean, if you're presenting that, if I'm presenting that,
like like, how do I do this as a Dodger fan,
I'm taking that every day of the week because I
think it's not enough to land Byron Bucks and he's
still on a very good contract. I to the Buxton
part of this one hundred percent. He is somebody we
have talked about a little bit on my other channel
as well. I mean, if there is kind of a
(26:16):
a perfect player that could slot into the Dodgers lineup.
He is a center fielder, he is a slugger, he
has on base, he has the complete package, does Byron Buxton.
He's also apparently maybe open to being traded after saying
I don't want to be traded less than three months ago,
four months.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Ago with and here's all that you would take on,
here's all that you would take on three years, forty
five million dollars left on his deal, and you take
the pressure off of pa his.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
Yeah yeah, now again with that, with that ridiculously cheap contract.
I don't know that Emmet Sheian. For as great as
he is, you know, he also hasn't really proven anything.
He's only you.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
Know, the season, given a chance to do it every
five days.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Yeah. Well, I mean he kind of was last year
and he you know, we're further removed now from the
Tommy John surgery and all that. But it might need
to be more of like a Shean and a higher
level prospect, maybe somebody like a Zayer Hope, maybe somebody
like a U I think James Tims the third is
in there, Mike Sarota, but it's probably somebody that is
(27:22):
a center fielder that is closer to being ready, maybe
even host way to Paula, who we talked about last
week with with Josh Norris. It needs to it needs
to have a little more star power behind it. Everybody
wants pitching. Every team wants pitching for sure. So I
think Shean is a good conversation starter. But I don't
(27:43):
know if she and and like, you know, somebody in
the fifteen range of the Dodgers, like Pipeline. I don't
know if that gets it done. I could, I mean,
I could call Minnesota and start the conversations. I'm down Andrew.
We know Andrew is busy with the Lakers these days,
so maybe that can help out.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
All right, So what's so, what's your hypothetical again, we're
just spitballing here, people. None of us is.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Yeah, we're at that point of the offseason here. If
I had one, uh, you know, and and it's not
going to be you know, bucks in Again, I'm probably
looking at Jared Duran and I think I think there
there is. They have a lot of outfielders over there
in Boston. Jared Durand is somebody could play some left field,
who can play some center field ridiculously fast, can put
(28:26):
bathtball at times, can get on base, can run into
some some baseballs as well, and hit him out of
the ballpark. Jared Duran makes a lot of sense for
the Dodgers and where they're at and their needs, and
I think maybe it's an overpay. I don't know, but
I think you can get some conversations rolling with with
Dalton rushing in there. Uh they need a catcher, uh
(28:47):
there for the Dodgers. I don't know who the backup
would end up being. Right now, go out and trade
trade for Ben Rutved again, I don't know a backup catcher.
To me, I don't know. That's not as it's not
as important. They'll find somebody. They can make it work here.
Austin Barnes is looking for a job. Obviously it's not
gonna be Barnes coming back. But if you're trying to
fill a hole with a kind of an area of surplus,
(29:09):
because yeah, you have Will Smith, you really need Dalton
Rushing to be starting like twice a week and just
essentially never really getting an opportunity. To me, it's also
looking at, hey, give this kid an opportunity to be
an everyday catcher in Dalton. You give yourself a center
or centerfield or leftfield option. Trade Dalton Rushing. Maybe it's
(29:29):
you know, throwing another guy in there, Bobby Miller, get
him off of the forty man roster there. Maybe a
change of scenery helps him out, But for for Boston,
it feels to me like rushing is better than Carlos
Narvayas and Connor Wong not catching situation there.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
You do not want Connor Wong.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
You do not like no, no, no, I'm saying like that.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
I cover the Red Sox too as a freelancer, and
I have a comment about that as well. So somebody
put in here smurfy twenty four. Do we Duran as
a head case and seems to check out when it's
feelings could hurt. That's not true at all. Duran is
not a head case. He's not. He's not.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
He kind of just seems like he won't he won't
take shit if anything.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
He doesn't. But he's not a head case like he
is the he's the heartbeat of that clubhouse. When I
tell you.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
That we're more head cases and Jared Duran is what
you're saying, I.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Mean for sure, for sure, I don't know. Again, like
what would you guys do? Put it in the chat
like everybody you know, you guys are yelling at us,
owl of them nervous, so funny, We're just spitballing, quick talking,
stay here to la rumors. We just spitballing. What would
you do? I mean, like, as we what what's your hypothetical.
It's got to be a big leaguer for a big
leader that's already on the forty man. Okay, we're not
(30:40):
talking just trade here, We're I mean, we're not talking
like just prospects. We're talking big leaguer for big leaguer.
Who would you do?
Speaker 1 (30:46):
Who would you do it? Matching the Simon for Nimo, which,
by the way, I like that trade for both those organizations.
They both the Rangers and the Mets very clearly just
needed like some sort of change for the sake of
change after the happy seasons they both had. You know,
how the Rangers fall off is something that really needs
to be studied. But that's not our show. We already
(31:08):
talked about everything else, including the Lakers and everything. By
the way, we also got a five dollars super chat
before we throw the last licks. In another break, the
truth seeker Doc rb asking was saying hello to both
of us and wondering about the outfield situation. I want
to focus on on the latter part. There are we
more interested in free agency, more interested in Kyle Tucker
(31:31):
or Cody Bellinger and also thows in Happy Thanksgiving. Let's
keep this one tight. What do you think, who do
you prefer?
Speaker 2 (31:36):
I don't, I don't. Kyle Tucker's not coming to Dela.
He's gonna he's gonna warrant three to three fifty and
I just don't. I just don't see that happening. They don't.
They don't need that type to spend that type of
money on an outfielder. Whether it's Andy Payus or Belly
or Byron Buckston or somebody else that we haven't named,
it's not going to be Kyle Tucker.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
Yeah. Yeah, to the question, Belly at this point on
on the right deal is the better fit. I don't
know that they go through the free agency route though,
to fix the outfield as it were, They got a
couple of guys already in house with Ryan Ward and
and uh Alex call. Yeah. I don't think that's the
sexiest left field tandem to start the year, but they.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Have sexy and Dodgers' outfield died when Ethier and Kemp left. Okay,
that's done, We're done. There's no more sexy outfield for
the Dodgers. There's there's I miss those. I do too,
I do too. All right, we're going to be back
right after this with one more word from our great
(32:39):
friends at Foul Territory.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
If you are still carrying a clunky leather brick that
can be mistaken for an old school wallet, may I
introduce you to what Eric Kratz is getting himself for
the holidays.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
I mean, this is the greatest wallet that I've ever
seen in my life. Your credit card's fitting here, It's
a just lifetime guaranteed.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
Like what like?
Speaker 1 (33:03):
This is a must have for the holidays.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
Absolute must have Ridge Olive matt That is the design
that Kratz has right now, and you can get a
hold of that. There's over fifty plus colors and styles
to choose from. Over at Ridge. You can even get
a wallet that features every NFL, MLB or college team.
And for a limited time, Ridge is having their huge
Black Friday sale. Head to Ridge dot com slash foul
(33:26):
to get up to forty seven percent off your order.
This is by far the biggest discount they've given all year.
That's Ridge dot com slash foul for up to forty
seven percent off your order. During their biggest sale of
the year. After your purchase, I'll ask you where you
heard about Ridge. Tell them foul Territory sent you.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
That's awesome. That wallet was awesome with the Dodgers World
Series Championship on it. That's sweet. Thanks Ridge. All right,
so welcome to Last Locks, everybody. This is for Hank.
Look at that cool boy. He's such a good boy.
So Hank was failed I can't tell you how many
times by humans. But the good news is Guidriy's Guardian
Foundation was able to get him some really good training.
(34:10):
He ended up getting an amazing foster home, and Gidri's
My Foundation was able to connect him with a wonderful
adopter who has already adopted one of our dogs by
the name of Oslo, who unfortunately passed away. But Hank
is on his way, guys, from California to Canada to
his forever home where he's going to be loved forever
(34:31):
and ever and ever. So what we're asking for is,
if you don't mind, we need help covering his transportation.
So we have a one thousand dollars ask. I have
raised six hundred and seventy dollars so far. So Clint
with his math skills told me that that was a
deficit of three hundred and thirty dollars that we need.
So if thirty three people listening to this pod right
(34:54):
now or watching on YouTube, thirty three people can donate
ten dollars to Gidri's guardian dot org. We cover his transport.
We cover his transport to get him to his forever home.
So that's another dog saved off of the streets, out
of high kill shelters and he's going to us forever.
So ten dollars makes a huge difference. Thank you, please
(35:15):
and thank you.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Yeah, guys, help out, do something, do something with your lives, do.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Something, do something, help somebody else. What are you doing
on All Dodgers plant Pa, see if you guys are
back tonight.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
Correct, Yeah, we'll be back seven o'clock show myself, Jeff Snyder.
I got to reach out make sure that Kevin can
can hang out with us as well. But seven pm
Pacific time on the All Dodgers YouTube channel, we'll be
talking about kind of unpopular takes we've had Kevin. Kevin
has had something he's been teasing all off season so far.
(35:49):
I'm gonna try to finally make him reveal his number
one free agency target this offseason, and I think it's
going to ruffle some feathers. So guys tube in and
don't worry there. There will be more bad jokes in
there as well. For Johnny boy John's my jokes are
as good as that guy's user name, but my.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Joke's so Johnny boy.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
John, appreciate the click. Johnny all right, rights, before we
sign off, we do have one more baseball thing to
talk about, and I wanted to talk. I thought about
talking about, you know, Dave, Dave Roberts ten years ago
yesterday he hit or he was hired to be the
Dodgers manager. I think that worked out pretty good. Three
(36:30):
titles in ten years, could be four, made it to
five World Series over that time. We do a good
enough job glazing Dave on the show already deservedly so
he's very phenomenal at his job. So congrats to Dave
Roberts and the Dodgers for hitting ten years. What's what's
the anniversary gift for ten years?
Speaker 2 (36:51):
I don't know. For me, every year, I want diamonds,
even if it's paper.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
I don't know what ten years is. Who knows diamonds,
Give me me diamonds and dogs stuff. Why because I'm
a girl daring?
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Yes, yes, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
That's not what we want to talk about. Our thought
for the road is these two clowns that thought that
they were going to get two million dollars for the
two home run balls in Game seven of the World Series.
It's a wether Sun team that originally wanted two and
a half million. Darren Ravel covers all things business insane
for ESPN. I think they ended up getting a lot
of money. I mean, they got three hundred and twenty
four k, but it's not two and a half million.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
Yeah. We we talked about this at the end of
last last Thursday show, these baseballs being enough for auction
ridiculously high prices. Apparently it wasn't high enough to think
that you were going to get two and a half
million dollars for non authenticated.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Baseballs, non autographed.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
Non autographed, but well the Mickey row one is autograph.
Like be happy to get you know, almost four hundred
thousand dollars for a pair of baseballs and your team
lost right in front of your face. Like that just
feels like.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Oh wow, that's mean. Is that Journey guy that told
you your joke suck joke? Yeah, I mean good for them,
that's that's a good that's a good.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
That's a good holiday for them, a good new Year
for them. Three and twenty four grand is nothing to
sneeze at. And you're right. McGill's was signed. I remember
because the auction house did that show. Haze not signed,
neither of which you're authenticated. But all right, so there
you have it, you guys. We are back on Thursday.
Clinton and I are doing the show on Wednesday, but
it'll air on Thursday for your Thanksgiving pleasure. Clint said,
so you can disassociate you with your family and join
(38:28):

Territory shop dot com. You can check us out at
that link. You can scan the QR code Black Friday.
Sale is on now, you guys. You don't have to
wait until Friday. Use promo code black Friday at checkout
and save support the show. Appreciate you guys. As always,
We'll see you on Thursday. Go Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Bye.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
Yeah,
