Speaker 1 (00:00):
With the Dodgers. They've made tough decisions before, Austin Barnes
being cut, Chris Taylor being cut, they let Justin Turner walk,
They non tendered Cody Bellinger. The list goes on. What
(00:22):
is going on? Party people? I don't know why when
I'm alone here I call everybody party people. But that's
what I do here on this edition of Dodgers Territory.
What's going on? Appreciate everybody hanging out with me on
this Thursday edition of the show. Dodgers making some moves
just before we're live, so changing some things up ever
so slightly. We are going to get into the I'm
(00:45):
calling it my nine Dodgers who will not be back
for a twenty twenty six list that is coming up
shortly before we dive into all of that. Thank you
guys for being here. If you wouldn't mind subscribing to
the channel, it helps us out. Like the show, share
the show. There's some good news in here. There's a
whole bunch of news and things stuff going on, YadA YadA.
(01:06):
Clearly we got breaking news, so let's just dive right
into it with some breaking news. Locking it back in
the Dodgers, Uh, making some moves here before I decided
to push the live button here on this Thursday. Unsurprising moves, well,
two not shocking moves. One kind of a bit of
(01:28):
a surprise gun you consider the way they treated the
dude this season. But first up, no shocker. Max Munsey's
option picked up for the twenty twenty six season. It
was only a ten million dollar option. And when you
understand how good Max Munsey is for this team, for
this roster, for the lineup, obviously, you guys, everybody recalls
how bad they were when he was injured last year
(01:49):
with the side issue and then missed some time with
that knee injury that potentially could have cost him the season.
It was always this was a no brainer. You bring
back Mac. He's a heart and soul that sold that team,
coming back for his ninth season next year in Dodger blue.
It is that is crazy to really think about that
we're entering nine years of Max Munsey being a Dodger.
(02:13):
The other not shocking news, Dodgers had two options they
needed to pick up by I think it's by two
pm Pacific time today. One was Munsey, the other was
Alex Vesia. And no shocker, the Dodgers are picking up
Alex Vesia's option. Great move there. Vesia was if we're
talking about Munsey being a heart and soul, If not
(02:34):
the heart and soul, maybe the is a bit much
in the lineup. Alex Vessia was one hundred percent the
heart soul of that Dodgers bullpen A year removed from
somebody like Dan Hudson being the man in that in
that cage out there in the outfield. I mean, I
guess they've improved it a little bit, but he stepped
up into a serious veteran leadership role. Did Vesia, of course,
(03:00):
could not be a part of the World Series roster.
Our thoughts are still with him and his family as
they go through a deep personal matter. They have not
revealed what's going on, and they don't have to. Just
our love going to Vessia. But thankfully he will be
back with the team in twenty twenty six. He will
be another anchor in that bullpen, or continue to be
(03:21):
an anchor in that bullpen. Couple of names later on
on the nine Dodgers who will not be back list
bullpen arms at least one in there. Kind of not shocking.
Maybe I should have gone deeper in the bullpen. But anyways,
the final news here just before twelve o'clock Pacific time
on Thursday. Ryan Ward, a guy we talked about a
(03:42):
whole bunch this season who had a fantastic breakout season
at Triple A twenty eight year old outfielder I think
twenty eight twenty nine year old outfielder hit over thirty homers.
He has now been added to the forty man roster,
which creates more roster woes. So the Dodgers are not
done for the day, and I should be clicking and
making sure to check for more breaking news along the
(04:04):
way because they are gonna need to create some roster
space for Ryan Ward. But yeah, thirty six homers, twenty
seven year old, thirty six homers ops just under our
little over nine hundred defense is not his strong suit.
That's why he didn't get an opportunity. But when you
look at those numbers and you realize how long this team,
(04:27):
you know, had Michael Confordo patrolling that outfielder or that
outfield for the course of the season, it's a bit
frustrating when you understand how good Ryan Ward was. Now caveat,
of course, it is Triple A. Those numbers are very
much inflated. But for an organization that says, if you perform,
you're gonna get an opportunity, I guess we could say
(04:50):
it's a little more on the frustrating side, but side.
But there's your breaking news for your Thursday. Again. More
stuff will be coming up a little bit later today. Again,
they're gonna need to make at least I think two
roster decisions as guys need to be activated. Players need
to be activated off of the sixty day injured list,
(05:11):
so then we'll get those free play spots anymore. But anyways,
there's your breaking news. Now, what I really want to
do is dive into my nine, my list of nine
of nine Dodgers who will not be back. It's probably
should be bigger, but it's nine Dodgers who will not
be back. And this is the first first edition of
Noster Dumbass of the offseason. And you guys know, I
(05:32):
love this one. What a front end look at that
we feel good, we feel locked in, Dodgers making moves,
Dodgers World Series champion, Dodgers are gonna have a few
people that were pretty bad on the team last year
not be a part of the team in twenty twenty six.
Fun one kicks us off and you guys saw it
(05:55):
as a thumbnail. Wasn't gonna not lead us off With
the joy of Michael Confordo not being on this roster
terrible season, the Dodgers will be looking to get younger
and more athletic in the outfield. However, they can one option,
apparently Ryan Ward, but they'll be looking also to somebody
who could hit the baseball, hopefully and that it was
(06:18):
not Michael Confordo. Not to say he can't figure out
and remember how to hit a baseball in twenty twenty six,
but it will not be with the Dodgers. That's seventeen
million dollars. Seventeen and a half million dollars off the
books there. Thank you for being the placeholder for Key
k Hernandez in the postseason. Mikey, don't let the door. Well,
you guys know the rest. I'm not gonna be mean
(06:39):
to the guy. But there's your first one of a
list of nine. Michael Conforda will not be around next year,
no shocker there. The next one is also going to
be a cheapy, an obvious one. Clayton Kershaw will not
be around next year. Don't worry, the list gets better.
These are easy ones to get us going, easy ones
to fill the assignment that I decided to set a
number of nine when everybody else will do five or six.
(07:01):
I wanted nine because I'm weird. But Claire Kershaw, Clayton
Kershaw will nib not be back in twenty twenty six
because he's retiring. He told us that he is hanging
up the spikes. Hell of a career for twenty two.
There eighteen seasons, eleven All Star Games, three Cy Young Awards,
three World Series title, National League MVP, so many other
(07:25):
things on that list. Of course, you see it there
on the screen if you're watching over three thousand career strikeouts.
Roberto Clemente Award winner, five time ERA title winner, hell
of a career for twenty two, and we thank you
for your service and enjoy retirement. My friend. Even though
(07:47):
he's not my friend, I wish he was my friend.
He's a nice guy. Moving on, all right. The first
fun one, I'm gonna call it more of a fun one.
It's Kirby Yates. There's a few ways to go with this.
One paramount is performance. The Dodgers will be looking to
improve upon the five E ra that he posted in
the bullpen last year. He's currently a free agent. Chances
are he's the other like the other side of it.
(08:10):
He might be retiring. He's kind of alluded to that.
He mentioned that, you know, it was noncommittal. In the
postgame post World Series celebration and interviews, thirty nine goes
out with the ring on his finger. You know, it
makes sense for him to kind of just hang up
the spikes here either way. You know, he's not coming back.
(08:34):
The Dodgers need somebody better in that bullpen. They they
may be opting to look at, you know, the big
name free agents we have seen. According to Alding Gonzalez,
who covers the team and other teams major League Baseball
for the ESPN s as, the Dodgers expected to be
really aggressive in pursuit pursuit of a high leverage bullpen
(08:56):
arm not shocking in the slightest. We have seen that
Edwin Diaz of the Mets has opted out of his deal.
Robert Swarez of the Padres has opted out of his deal.
Dodgers love to make some trades. They do have some
pieces they could trade away to facilitate a trade for
a reliever, and relievers are much cheaper in the off
(09:19):
season than they are at the trade deadline. As we saw,
Padres paid a butt ton in prospect capital or at
least in prospect talent to land Mason Miller last trade deadline,
and the Dodgers weren't willing to do that. They were
willing to go with Brock Stewart and that was about it.
Dodgers can also kind of fill internal at least this
Kirby Yate spot. That's not gonna say, not to say
(09:41):
they won't still be active looking for a high leverage,
a proven high leverage arm, but if you're looking at
internal option options, Ben Casparius should be better after another
season of growth, and hopefully the Dodgers stick him in
one role and kind of leaving him there. We'll have
(10:03):
more conversations about the bullpen and some of the arms
and who goes where as the offseason continues. Kyle Hurt
WI would be returning from injury. I'm a big time
Kyle Hurt guy. I'm a big time believer that Kyle
Hurt belongs in the bullpen rather in the starting rotation,
although they may give him a shake in the rotation
to start the year, start in spring training. And you know,
(10:24):
the Dodgers also, if we're talking about some just random
internal guys that are on the forty man roster, they
could try like Bobby Miller honestly in the bullpen. You know,
it was sort of okay, we are at our wits
end with you last year where they moved Bobby Miller
to the bullpen. Anyways, again this is taking us off track.
(10:45):
The point is Yates will not be back. We'll talk
more bullpen in a future edition of the show. But
Kirby Yates is number three on that list of Dodgers
nine Dodgers who will not be back in twenty twenty six.
Moving on, just talked about him. Bobby Miller mentioned him
as a Kirby Ates replacement, but he also may be
a trade candidate or more likely a non tender candidate,
(11:09):
because the Dodgers, as I said at the top of
the show, there, when you're adding somebody like Ryan Ward,
they already had a roster crunch. They's added another body
they need to put on that forty man roster, but
they have an insane roster crunch on their hands, even
after seven players became free agents following the World Series.
They need I think it's two roster spaces, two roster
(11:30):
spots by three this afternoon, two or three this afternoon.
I don't know the full logistics of it, but you know,
guys are coming off of the sixty day il and
they are going to need legitimate roster spots. The thing
about Bobby Miller, he is still young, he is still cheap,
he still has options, but he has also proven that
(11:51):
he struggles to get hitters out consistently. And note that
I did not just say major league hitters. It is hitters,
batters with a bat in their hand, period, minor league.
So he also struggled here and there. You know, if
we get down to the roster crunch, I wouldn't be
shocked at all if they opt to pivot off of
Bobby Miller rather than cut somebody like a Will Klein
(12:13):
or Michael Grove who's returning from injury. Those guys are
both on the forty man roster. It just makes more
sense to me, at least for that move to be
Bobby Miller, because I think they're just there are greener
pastures elsewhere for Bobby, and the time is now to
move on or at least the time is this offseason.
(12:35):
The non tender deadline is in mid or early mid December,
so look at Bobby Miller as somebody who could be
gone from this team soon, definitely ahead of the twenty
twenty six season. So this four guys halfway a little
under halfway through that list. Let's get into the next guy,
Tony Gonsolin cat Man Tony Smokes. Gonsolin of course, return
(13:00):
from Tommy John surgery this season. He pitched to a
five ERA over seven starts, never looked right at any point,
ended up undergoing a second surgery late in the season
that should keep him out for at least half of
twenty twenty six. Like, that's at best two reasons in
(13:20):
my opinion, the Dodgers could non tender him. I don't
think they release him now to create these roster spots.
I think we have other guys like Justin Dean I
initially had on this list. I don't know that they
release or cut Justin Dean yet, but he is an option,
but he is not breaking new as a spoiler. Justin
Dean is not on this nine list of nine Dodgers
(13:41):
who will not be back in twenty twenty six. But
but Gonsolin. The reason I believe the Dodgers will eventually
non tender him is he's been passed up on the
rotation depth chart by a handful of guys. I saw
somebody in the chat mentioning Gavin Stone returning. But yeah,
assume everybody is healthy. Let's say in August by next
(14:03):
year or by August of next year, the Dodgers would
have an insanely stacked rotation and even other guys who
could potentially be starters. You have some names that will
be tried out as starters at least in spring training.
Even if I don't agree with him, I believe this
is what the team will do. But looking at that
(14:25):
twenty six rotation, you already have it pretty locked in
with Yoshi at the top. There, Blake Snell, show Heyo,
Tani Tyler Glass, now, Emmit she and Gavin Stone. There
are your six. If you're just laying it out right now,
that's those are the six dudes I believe break camp
with the team in the rotation. Roki Sasaki, of course,
(14:46):
save kind of save the Dodgers Bacon in the postseason
as a reliever. I do think they will not. I
think they will put him back in the rotation because
that's what you pay him for, that's what you try
to get out of him. So we'll be back in
the rotation trying that out. River Ryan is also coming
back from surgery. Kyle Hurt already mentioned him. I think
(15:06):
he is a better reliever, but they will probably be
trying him, you know, building him up as a starter,
just to have a little bit more depth there. Same
with Ben Casparras and Justin Rableski, two guys who have
started a fair amount in their career. I'll throw in
landon Nac there. We don't need to talk a whole
lot about landon Nac, but he is somebody who is
on the roster. I don't think they cut him. He
(15:28):
still has options. He's still young, cheap and controllable and
can give the team length. So he'll be around Kyle Hurt.
Going back to that list, Kyle Hurt should be a reliever.
Ben Casparius, Justin Rableski, we saw it. Those guys are relievers,
you know, for this exercise that forced them to be starters.
So again, the reason I believe they they non tender
(15:51):
Tony Gonsolin is so many other guys are better than him,
healthier than him, more available than him, and there's just
plainly not a role. There's not a role. There's no
room on the roster for the catman, so he will
be non tendered. Because the other part, the second caveat
or the second of the two parter here, that tells
(16:11):
me the Dodgers will non tender Tony Gonsolin is you're
saving roughly five to six million dollars in payroll next
year and they could use that for I don't know
one of those relievers they they might sign, you know,
Robert Suarez and Edwin Diaz is not gonna be Diaz.
Sorry to spoil your offseason. It will not be Edwin Diaz.
Somebody else like a I don't know, Kyle Tucker. Hey,
(16:34):
come on down if they're going to go that route
with it. Anyways, there's that. We got more lists coming up. First,
I want to take a break so the folks over
at foul Territory can tell you about this.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
Hey, we told you about Hewles new Daily Green's ready

Speaker 1 (17:06):
It's so good.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Breakdown the vanilla also good.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
But when they send me a chocolate peanut butter, oh,
it's like a dessert. But it's not.

(18:30):
in style with some merch. I would appreciate it if
you did. Moving on getting back into my list, we
got three more I think three more, four more good
at math hashtag math Baby. As you guys know from
all Dodgers, eventually probably be a shirt. I got another
kind of softy to get us restarted here, an easy one,
(18:53):
just because he was on the roster for some reason.
It made no sense. But Andrew Heeney, I barely understand
why they signed him heading into September. He was technically
eligible to be on the postseason roster. I understand even
less why they called him up to pitch in a
game late in the season. You had other options to
(19:14):
eat innings. Anyways, he's a free agent and this is
a cheapy name to fill the assignment, which was that
I created the number, I decided to make it at
list of nine to be different, and I threw in
Andrew Heeney to make that quota. So anyways, ah, moving on.
This is a tough one to me, Ben roy Vett,
(19:37):
hear me out. Ultimately, it comes down to three things.
He does not have options next year. Dalton Rushing will
be the backup to Will Smith in twenty twenty six.
And the Dodgers are again stop me if you heard
me already say this a few times. They're battling a
forty man roster crunch. The Dodgers are battling a roster
crunch this offseason. They have no room to even sign
(19:59):
free agents at this point, so dudes are going to
need to be moved off of that roster. Now there's
an outside chance he could resign on a minor league deal,
but I think I feel a solid that really solid
September might have opened the eyes of other big league
ball clubs given him a shot to either be a
starter more likely be a backup for their main guy.
(20:23):
So I feel bad. I feel bad for Benny Biceps,
Ron Roorvetelt. If you're nasty, but you know rest easy,
sweet prince, you are a champion. You got a ring
on that finger, my friend. And the second to final
name on this list is Estuary Ruiz, and I believe
(20:44):
even more so when I wrote some of these names
out last night. It's not off the top of my head.
Spoiler alert. I think Ruiz makes even more sense to
be off of the roster with the Ryan Ward news
of the day. Ruiz do have an option year left
in twenty twenty six that plays in his favor, but
(21:04):
when it comes to you know, the ability he brings
to the table as a baseball player, it is a
speed and end of list, the Dodgers will end up
with some other minor league outfield options. You know they're
gonna sign some dudes this winter, non roster invites. They're
going to act as depth for the major league team,
Guys that come up for ten or fifteen games while
(21:27):
somebody's hurt, and it's reasonable to think and to expect
that they would be better than Estuary Ruiz. I also,
I just hate saying the name. It's a tough name. Yes,
the re all right, I made it even worse. It
is worth mentioning. Let's just take a step back if
we're talking about the roster, some people might not know,
(21:47):
some people might not might be confused, or just didn't
look it up. It's worth noting Alex call is still
under team control for twenty twenty six, so if the
season started today, it's pretty funny he would technically be
the starting fielder. That's neither here or there. But it
doesn't mean they don't need to make a big splash
in the outfield this offseason. That's more conversation we'll have
(22:11):
at a different point in time, talking about free agency more,
a lot more starting next week. So those are eight names,
and then we get to the final one, the noster,
dumbass conclusion, and it's a cheater, another cheater. Here we
end on the toughest one really of the list. One
of Miguel Rojas or Keike Hernandez will not be on
(22:32):
the roster next year. This is my prediction. This is
just what I assume, looking again at how this roster
is constructed heading into this offseasons, just might not be
room for both. In twenty twenty six, Tommy Edmund and
hesse On Kim will both be on the roster. They're
both gonna be battling for playing time and at second
base and utility. You know, maybe some outfield in there
(22:54):
at least that's what the Dodgers are gonna be hoping for.
For sure. The front office, we know, is going to
be very active and trying to add an impact bat
in the outfield. And I'll say it again, Alex call
is under team control. So there's another right handed bat
on the roster, taking away space for potential keyk a
Hernandez and mcguil Rojas playing time, just just purely being
(23:18):
a right handed bat. If you want to run it
back again next year, you need to get better. We
saw some holes in this lineup, saw some holes offensively
in the postseason. You know you could win, You could
win adding some role players for sure, but impact players
(23:40):
help you run it back. Not not just a bunch
of role players. Just just a thought, just thought. I
wanted to get out there talking about the two guys
diving into both You know what, what Miggy Row, what
Key Hernandez bring to the table. Miggi Row is the
best player coach this team has. He's an electric defender,
(24:02):
even getting on into his mid thirties now, can still
just put it down with the glove and the arm.
We saw that in this World Series, and as we
all now know, watching this World series, watching this postseason,
he's got a little bit of that clutch gene in
the bat as well, huge Homer to help the Dodgers
get on into a World Series, get on win their
(24:24):
ninth World Series. Really, I should say, he's let it
be known he wants to play one more season. He
wants it to be with the Dodgers. He told my
buddy Doug McCain that a number of weeks ago on
his podcast. He also just told Chris rose Over on
John Boy that he wants to play one more season.
He is backtracking the idea that he wants to retire.
(24:46):
I said on Monday, I think the Dodgers find a
way to get a deal done pretty quickly with Miguel Rojas.
Keep him around. Miguel Rowe or sorry, Mookie Betts loves him.
That roster, that clubhouse loves Miggy Rowe. After the Dodgers
won the World Series, talking to Ross Strippling, he had
nothing but great things to say about miggi Row, both
from his little bit of experience playing with him in
(25:08):
the Dodgers organization, but more so from hearing from guys
in that clubhouse, the way he's able to bring everybody together. Honestly,
Miggi roe he something to man, He's got a little
bit of a vibe. He's a dude you want to
bring to a party because he's gonna bring everybody together,
whether they want to be together or not. You know,
(25:30):
with the Dodgers, they've made tough decisions before. We saw
them this year, in particular Austin Barnes being cut, Chris
Taylor being cut mid season. They let Justin Turner walk,
They non tendered Cody Bellinger, the list goes on. You
can see them maybe being okay letting somebody like Mickey grow,
(25:53):
Miguel Rojas. Miggiro decided to go both ways with it,
letting him walk. I don't think they go that route.
I think they find a way to resign him. And
let's talk about Keik getting ahead of myself a little
bit there. Kik. We know he brings the vibes, he
brings versatility, and then kind of not much else until
you know the postseason, you know when it counts the most,
(26:13):
which is huge. It's massive for the team, it's massive
for a ball club. That already knows they're gonna make
the postseason. But for Kei k this coming winter and
the Dodgers, it just might not be enough to say,
you know, I'm gonna don't worry. I'll show up in
September and October, like, don't worry about what I do
(26:36):
in between. I if I were at gambling man, I'd
wager that that the curtain is coming to a close
for Keik a second time. I'm not saying I like it,
but it might be a reality. So there's your list
of nine. If I want to cheat and make it ten,
maybe Justin Dean is thrown in there as well. Let
(26:56):
me know, do you guys agree with it? Disagree with it.
I'm interested in knowing what people have to say. Obviously,
there's a lot of people in the chat right now
who have shared their thoughts, and I appreciate you. I
might not be able to get into all of these
right now because there's so much sho to catch up on.
I appreciate you everybody's input on it. If you're watching
this after the fact, let me know or even listening
(27:18):
you know at me at Real FRG or at the
Dodgers territory. La ed Territory on Twitter. Let me know
what you think of the list. If you agree, you disagree,
that's what I would like to know. In the interest
of moving the show along and making sure we still
do our part to help out Alana and the doggos,
It's time for last licks. Guys. We have talked about
(27:46):
this doggo before. Alana didn't give me any instructions on this.
I just looked at Gidrisguardian dot org and I saw
this adorable, adorable pupper right here. This is Chip. Chip
is looking for a home. Is a year and a
half old mixed breed and just a handsome. He is
the handsomest looking good boy I think I've ever seen
(28:08):
outside of my good boy looking dapper with the bow
tie there. He is neutered, vaccinated, great with kids and
other dogs, and he could be in your home. I
think you guys should do what you can to help
out Chip, help out Gidrey's Guardian, help out Alana, get
(28:28):
dogs homes. That's what you guys can do. Visit Gidrisguardian
dot org for more information. Hit up Alana on the
social media's give her follow I think all of her
handles are usually at Alana Rizzo, But go go adopt
a dog. There's more dogs. There's more than just chip
on there, and the dogs need a lot of help.
Alana needs a lot of help. She would very much
(28:49):
appreciate it if you guys adopted somebody adopted a pupper
while she's out on vacation. The final thing I wanted
to talk about a baseball thought for the road, and
it's a little it's mixed. It's both. It's both Dodgers
related and general baseball related, and people might not necessarily
(29:12):
be happy with some of the takes I'm going to
have on this. But earlier this week, the Hall of Fame,
what are they called again, the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee,
it's a mouthful, has a list of players that are
eligible for the Hall of Fame ballot. The point of
(29:33):
all of this, Bill Shakin put out the tweet We're
getting there. Fernando Valezuela is on the Hall of Fame
ballot officially. Once again, you see the other names on
that list, Barry Bonds, Roger Clements, Carlos Delgado, Jeff Don, Mattingly,
Dale Murphy, Gary Sheffield. You get seventy five percent of
the vote from the what just twelve of sixteen votes,
so it's a much smaller vote, but they can be
(29:57):
in the Hall of Fame. Let's focus on Fernando. Let's
focus on thirty four. It's time. It just feels like
it's finally time for Fernando Mania to be enshrined in
Cooper's town. I ask you, guys, is it finally time
for Fernando to be enshrined in cooper'stown? What he did
for baseball, what he did for the Dodgers, and healing
(30:18):
the organization's relationship with the Chicano community here in Los Angeles,
something they could really have been used right now as well,
not helping themselves. But I'm not going to dive into
any of that even slightly. I think Baseball Hall of
Fame invented these these these committees to right some wrongs,
(30:41):
and Fernando being I think he was a two and
done on the initial Hall of Fame ballot. The fact
that he only had two opportunities, I think it was
six a little over six percent, and then if you
don't get five percent, your fall off the ballot. And
the second time he was three percent and fell off
the ballot. Just awful, absolutely awful. Fernando needs to be
(31:02):
in the Hall of Fame, and they could right this wrong.
The Contemporary Baseball ERAIC Committee will vote during the winter
meetings in that winner will be announced. The other part,
I was gonna say the unpopular. Obviously that should be
a popular opinion. There the unpopular opinion I have about
this particular list. I think Jeff Kent should be in
the Hall of Fame. That's probably pretty reasonable. He is
(31:25):
the all time leader in home runs hit as a
second baseman, had a very very good career with the Dodgers.
Of course with the Mets, did a lot of damage
with the San Francisco Giants, spent some time with the
Houston Astros. Good ballplayer should be in the Hall of Fame.
But two names in particular, I want to talk about
(31:45):
Barry Bonds and Roger Clements. Yes, I believe Barry Bonds
and Roger Clemens should be in the Hall of Fame.
And understand people are gonna have some beef with that.
I'll probably hear missus f RG in the living room
yell right now when this part of the show comes up.
I'm not saying you need to respect them, but they
(32:07):
should be acknowledging the Hall of Fame as being two
of the best steroid era. They are a symptom of
their era. It was not policed. It wasn't just them
doing steroids in eras before. You know, there are players
in the Hall of Fame that did greenies that is
a performance enhancer. They are in the Hall of Fame.
(32:30):
Respect the game, don't respect the player, but you can
respect the game and their mark that they made on
the game during that era. So people disagree with me,
please agree with me if you want. But two of
the best to ever do it. Seven times Cy Young
Award winner, I think is what a rocket is. And
(32:51):
then of course what eight MVPs seven to eight MVPs
for Barry Bonds just a one of the most pure swings,
purest baseball hitters in the history of the game. Yeah,
he got a lot of help in the later years.
But anyways, those are my thoughts. Again, they don't have
to be respected. Those players should at least be acknowledged.
(33:14):
Saying a little bit here, Elisheva would love to see
Chase Utley get some love in there. At some point
he might be on one of those one of these
type of lists Craig bringing up an asterisk. I'm not
opposed to an asteris being on there. I think it's
about telling a story, and that's what that's a Hall
of Fame should be about. That's about the Baseball Hall
(33:35):
of Fame is about telling a story, the story of
the game of baseball, and they are a part. They
are a massive part of the story. Not to say
that there's stuff. There are players that don't have gear
and some sort of recognition in the Hall of Fame,
but they don't have plaques. And now if they do
(33:57):
get voted in and then they don't, like apologize for
their steroid use, then maybe you take the plaque away.
But anyways, we got eg who disagrees, and that's fine.
I think it's worth having a conversation about it. Ala
Chevis is Dave Robertson's Hall of Fame manager. One of
(34:19):
these days, one of these days. That's about it, guys.
I know, this was a lot of me talking today,
not a lot of chat. Sorry, I had a lot
of things I wanted to get out there. But we
got two super chats from Nancy. I appreciate Nancy supporting
the show. Five Bucks, says go Gidrey's Guardian. Yeah, guys, again,
please consider going and checking that out. I'll put this
up one more time. Visit Gidrey'sguardian dot org Zdopt yourself
(34:41):
a dog provided you can take care of the dog.
The family can take care of the dog. Don't just
get a dog and then not be able to take
care of it and abandon it. That would not be nice.
And ten bucks from Nancy as well. Thank you. Nancy
says Oral herscheizer should be in the Hall of Fame.
There's another conversation we can have another day, and I'm
sure another one of those contemporary era ballots will have
(35:04):
him on the list. Bulldog, Bulldog. There's a conversation. There
is a conversation, but that is about it. Guys, thank
you for watching Dodgers Territory. There's a lot of me talking.
