Is that the case, Nate? Maybe a little bit there, Gandhi,
but I did want to Oh, oh you're treating us,
(01:30):
thank you. Hey, we need a song to play. So
Scary said he heard a song yesterday. No, we haven't

don't even know if I remember this song. We played
a lot. Did we pulverize it? Yeah? What's the song?
What's the name of it? Field this moment? Let me
(01:51):

going reporting laugh from the tallest building in Tokyo. Long
(02:22):
way from them harways still so hos and oh yes
they county always real fat. Oh day and that baby
we get parle or baby we get party. She re books,
especially about red rooms and tie ups. I got a hook.
She see me in the super the red tats had
up he least less to meet you. But Tim's money
(02:43):
only differences that on it. Now, let's stop time and
enjoy this moment when my castle. I just want to
feel moment. I just feel this moment movie, I just
(03:13):
feel this moment. I see a future, but live for
the moment. Makes sense. Don't I make dollars? I mean
(03:34):
brilliant ships. I'm a genius. I mean brilliant ships. The
streets is will school them school and made them slicker
and slick with the ruler, I've lost a lot and
learned a lot, but I'm still in defeated. Like Suoner,

The only difference is I own it. Like I stop

(04:15):
just want to feel this moment. I just want to
feel this moment. I just want to feel this moment. Moment.
(04:55):
Don't you love a festive collaboration? Well that's what that was.
Pitfall and Christina Aguilera, Hey, welcome to the day. Let's
get to a Megan on one four. She is the
first caller of the day. She sent a text to
us yesterday. We thought we should call her back, get
her on a good morning. Megan. How's everything in beautiful Alliance? Ohio? Oh?
Well we're here, so it's lovely, cloudy yesh. Okay, Well
(05:21):
being here is it's a good thing. You know what,
You're ninety percent done with the job. If you just
show up and you're you're showing up, that's good. So Megan, Megan, So,
why did you text the show yesterday? What was on
your mind? Can we help you today? Yeah? So I
listen to you guys on the lay to work every morning.
I am a surgical nurse at a local hospital and
(05:43):
we usually don't get a very good reception on the radio.
So I was like, yeah, let me just try it
out today. And you guys pops on and you guys
have never pops on in the r since I've been
there about a year. And the smile on my face
you can't really see it because we are we have
to wear a mask. But like everyone was like, what's wrong?
And I was like, you guys don't understand Elvis is
on and how you should see the smile on my
(06:05):
face now because I'm getting to talk Megan. You're giving
us to feel good. That's awesome. I'm loving that you
finally picked us up. You know, you can always hear
us on your iHeart Radio appage totally for free, so
you can get that in. I'm sure you have Wi Fi.
Good Wi Fi. And the surgeons usually gets a pick,
(06:25):
and I was with a certain surgeon yesterday that's, let's
just say, not my favorite. So I was like, wow, hey,
so I'm not gonna ask why that surgeon isn't your favorite,
but I will ask you this. If they choose, if
the surgeons and the o R choose the music for
a procedure, as they call it, what do they usually choose?
(06:45):
What do they usually like to listen to? Usually with
my certain pod, uh, they like the old like classic
rock ish kind of stuff. Okay, I'm doing with today
like a little bit more up. But he plucks at
this shone and puts on iHeartRadio, So that's nice. Put
the one that I'm not the taggest stand up. It's
(07:07):
definitely not what we like. Yeah, you know what, personality,
but it's Okay, send me, send me a text, or
remind me to have him removed from the surgical theater. Please,
let's get him out of it. Look, you deserve the
best day ever, Megan. We're gonna send you. Not that
(07:28):
you have enough scrubs in your life, We're gonna send
you some more. It's the Elvis Durin Morning Show scrubs
from our friends at Hackensack Meridian. Oh. They partnered up
with us to provide these incredible scrubs and they're on
the way. You're gonna love them. I'm so excited. Thank
you guys so much. I hope you have a great
day to day, Megan. Thanks for starting our day off
on the right the right foot. Hold on one second, okay,
(07:49):
and thanks for listening. Wow, listen to that. You know what,
when you come in here to do a show like
we all do, you never know who's listening, and you
never know what they're doing. Can you imagine someone with
a scalpel digging into someone's kid we're talking about Oh
my gosh, forget it. Please let's take our time with that,
all right, Gandhi, Danielle, roll some big numbers. What do
(08:09):
you have today? All right? It's Kate Kate Upton's birthday
today and Faith Evans birthday today, so happy birthday to them. Capricorn.

no need for any stress. Your day is a nine Aquarius.

Your day is a nine. Garpia learned to discuss your

(09:34):
prioritize your commitments. You only have twenty four hours in
a day. Your day is a nine, and those are
your Wednesday morning horoscopes. Excellent, excellent. All right, let's get
into the three things we need to know. So much
going on, you know, what, is it just me? Or
is the news changing a lot like every hour of
our lives? Have you noticed this? Okay? Yes, and that
is my first story, because every day we're getting new
(09:56):
information on all kinds of things, so we're just trying
to keep up with it and give it to you
as it comes. So let's start by trying to clear
up some information we got yesterday. The World Health Organization
said that it is very rare that asymptomatic people could
spread COVID nineteen. But now it says it's actually a
major unknown. Apparently there's a subset of infected people who
will never develop symptoms, making them asymptomatic. The CDC estimates, though,
(10:20):
that forty percent of transmission actually occurs before people sick,
before people feel sick, meaning that they're pre symptomatic. So
asymptomatic is you have it and are not showing signs.
Pre symptomatic is before you even know that you're sick.
So you're still forty percent likely to spread that if
that happens. So just because you're not showing signs doesn't
mean you're totally in the clear for right now. For
(10:41):
right now, it looks like the Republican National Convention is
going to happen in Jacksonville. After a lot of controversies
surrounding the event being held in North Carolina with restrictions
due to COVID nineteen three, Republican officials confirmed that it
is tentatively scheduled to happen in Florida, but it's dependent
on whether or not Jacksonville has enough hotel room to
support the influx of people. They say they do. The
(11:02):
event is expected to draw about fifty thousand, and for
the first time in history. Fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar has
a black editor in chief. Samia Nasser, was hired by
Hurst to take over the US version of the magazine.
Harper's Bazaar has been around for more than one hundred
and fifty years. So congratulations going out to Samara today
for making history. And those are your three things? All right? Well, Froggy,
(11:26):
you're right there in the middle of Jacksonville. Do you
want a political convention to come to town? Quick? Everybody
who lives here book a hotel room, so there's none available.
That's okay, Yeah, it's not a political thing. It's I
don't want fifty thousand people traveling here from somewhere else,
and with all the civil unrest we have going on,
we do not need a political convention of any kind here.
(11:48):
Just well, yeah, if they if they're out of a
hotel rooms, maybe you can let Mike Pence stay on
your couch. I don't know, maybe from my guest bedroom. Sorry,
we have no room, no room, no room at the end.
Oh god, I feel just like married. Well I am
marrying away all right. Anyway, you guys ready for your Wednesday? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
(12:09):
Scary is the only one, all right, let's have a
Wednesday for scary Elvis. Okay, get ready for race yourself?
Why you bring in here? Froggy and Dimensions Starting your day,
Elvis Duran in the Morning Show. Honey is the free
(12:33):
online shopping tool that saves you money by automatically finding
the best promo codes and instantly applying them to your cart.
And now Honey is a part of the PayPal family.
Get Honey for free at join Honey dot com slash
Duran Elvis Duran in the Morning Show. So I'm so
excited we have this new partner, Honey. I don't know
(12:54):
if you've used Honey before. When you go shopping online, you're,
you know, are always looking for promo codes to save money.
I always got jealous because I couldn't find them. And
then you go to these websites they say, okay, we've
got promo codes for your purchase at Target. And then
but you have to pay something. There's something you have
to give in. But with Honey, it's just an extension
on your browser. You just push a button. It finds
the best promo codes. Anyway, So because of this new
(13:17):
alliance with Honey, I have a shopping problem. So I
think it's a good thing. I saved a lot of
money last night. Anyway. I know it's it's rare that
we come on and we talk about our partners, but
I'm just kind of excited about shopping today. I think
I'm gonna buy some new knives. All right, anyway, are
we on? Yeah? You know what, we were just talking
(13:40):
during the song about three months ago versus now, and
we're talking about how, you know what, it's okay to cocoon,
and cocooning means you you don't mind kind of staying
home in the comfort and the safety of your own home,
right because we were forced to do that. And now
we're slowly getting outside to go do things, and malls
are starting to get ready to do their thing for
(14:02):
us and shopping. And Danielle, my little sister who used
to have an addiction, don't get mad at me, I know,
an addiction to malls. Yeah, now, just isn't that crazy
about going to a mall? Nope. I thought about it
and I was like, oh, the malls are opening next week.
I'm like, yeah, no, I'm I'm good. And I'm like
what what I'm what? I'm like, I'm not going to
(14:25):
be the first one in the door. I'm like, what's
wrong with me? I'm like, this is crazy, But I
I think I've just gotten used to not having to
run out and buy things and go, you know. I mean,
I've been doing a lot of online stuff, but not
like not crazy. I just don't feel the need to
have to go and and shop and be there. I mean,
you know what, you know. I think it's a little
(14:47):
bit of nerves. I think I think I think, in
my heart of hearts that some things are happening a
little too soon. Um. But I also think that I
think I realized a lot of things, like I don't
need so much yep. Good, that's exactly how yep. Yeah yeah,
a place where, yeah, I don't all the things that
(15:08):
I felt like I had to be going out and doing.
When you're forced to not do it, you find so
much more peace and calm and I just feel so
much more relaxed not even having like the options to
go do that kind of stuff. I'm not saying it's
a great thing for me personally. It's been nice to
slow down. I get for the economy, we want to
go and do things. That's good. But I think it's
been kind of nice, not doing a ton of stuff
and not getting stressed out. So I see a world
(15:30):
and I'm making some assumptions here, as I always do.
I see a world as we start to open it
up more and we feel great, it's going to be
a healthier mix of alone time and out time. It
doesn't have to be all out or all in. We'll
do a little both. Yeah. Absolutely, we are now learning
by being forced to learn how to hang out with ourselves.
(15:51):
And I don't think that's an awful thing. I think
it's pretty cool. Hey, producer Sam, good morning, welcome to
the show. Good thing. How you guys doing, Yeah, we're good.
Just you know our philosophy, you know, it's philosophy one
to one today? Right now? What are you making for
dinner tonight? What are you making? I'm going with spaghetti tonight,
which is always fun for William because he just likes
(16:14):
butter and salt like he's six years old, which is fine,
but he just won't try anything else. But I think
for me, I'm going to add some shrimps, do it?
We love scramps? Yeah, all right, perfect. We always have
to ask what we're having for dinner, because that still
is our headline, I don't know. I had a crazy
night in the kitchen last night and I had to
share it with everyone, and everyone's like, can you do
(16:34):
something else other than sharing your recipes? Sorry, they didn't
mean to bore you with my dance with Tomotio's last
night anyway, Producer Sam, make us feel good? What do
you have? What's going on? All right? A bunch of
people tag me in this beautiful story, which is an
example of how community came together to thank one of
(16:55):
their essential workers. And we all have those in our
lives right now. So on Long Island in Smithtown, a
UPS driver named Gregory Walkin Senior told a regular on
his route that he was retiring. So this man served
the community for thirteen years through the pandemic. He even
took out trash for some of the elderly residents. He
knew about everyone's families, they knew about him. This guy
(17:17):
obviously went above and beyond what you'd expect from a
delivery worker to really bond with his community while it
paid off emotionally speaking, because there was a crowd waiting
for him on his route, stopped his car. They had
posters that said thank you. They had posters that said
we love you, Greg. They gave him gifts, they gave
him flowers, and one resident made a speech about how
(17:40):
much he's meant to them and how much they're going
to miss him. It's so incredibly sweet. The videos up
on elvistrand dot com, And thank you to everybody who's
still hustling and just doing what they know we need
them to do through these crazy difficult times. There you go.
You know what, Sam, even though you do this one
segment per day, it's probably the powerful moment every day.
(18:01):
We could just unplug and go home. At this point,
we're already that. I do love that you feel that
way about the segment. All right, tomorrow, by the way,
I want your feel good segment, and I want everything
on the show tomorrow to be about corn on the
cob because tomorrow is corn on the Cob Day, and
I'm telling you right now, it's my most favorite, my
most favorite food ever. Thank you my friend Barca Cardos.
(18:23):
She made these cinnamon rolls. I look at those. Oh
my god, you see Gandhi would hate those because they're
full of cinnamon. Yes. Well, I didn't want to be
rude because clearly a lovely person made those lovely cinnamon rolls.
So I'm just gonna keep my ick to myself. I'm
not gonna yuck anyone else's yum. Those looks great for
you being that you are Indian. I mean, isn't cinnamon
(18:49):
like a very very big cornerstone in Indian food? Sometimes
it really is. It's in so much like my mom
has accidentally snuck it into my tea a couple of times,
and it's tuned. I take a stip, I'm like, nope, kid,
it can't do it. It's not even on purpose. I
just can't do it. I try. Everyone seems to love
so much. I just can't. Yeah, look, a lot of
people hate eating liver, and it's sort of like a
(19:10):
maybe he's seventy five percent of people hate liver. I'm
just making up a number. But when it comes to cinnamon,
I'm sure it's like like a one percent of the
population dislikes cinnamon. One of those things. I really think
it's genetic because my dad hates it as much as
I do, but he's a way bigger baby, so when
he even smells it, he's like, oh, what is that?
We have to leave? I don't do that I love Gandhi.
(19:32):
This is one of the things that Danielle and I
love about you is, ever since we've met you, you
do that thing all the time someone says something that
you find is like a little distast tasteful. You're like vomit.
Nois I know, but you're not really vomiting. It's just
like a punctuation. It's like, so, what do you think
(19:54):
about cinnamon? I just want hi. It's weird, all right, Danielle,
what do you guy? Coming up? Katy Perry talks about
how nice Harry Styles was to her when she told
him she was pregnant. He's a gentleman. Let me pull
a Gandhi to say the word Kardashian Kardashian accurate instead
(20:22):
of saying instead of saying, you know what, instead of saying,
I don't want to care for the Kardashians. Okay, today
today is punctuated every every tasteful sentence with a vomit
sound day. All right. Danielle has that story and other
stories on the way coming up after this. Duran in
the Morning Show. This is Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.
(20:46):
You know what we come in here every day we
wonder is anyone listening to this crap. Yeah, apparently I
know two people are Lauren and her mother, Janet are
in the car right now. Hi Lauren, Hi jan Everyone
say hi to Lauren and Janet. You guys have a
good day. Okay, hang in there. We're thinking about you. Also.
(21:08):
Our friend in Wheeling, West Virginia. Still this radio station
for some reason, every morning when we sign on, the
computer plays commercials and music and us all at the
same time, every day, every single Fragan day. They can't
fix it. Some my apologies. It's a genius plan. Now
you're right to get in more commercials just played at
(21:29):
the same time. Well, that doesn't make sense. Can someone like,
can we send them a new computer? Maybe they need
a new laptop. You know, a lot of people don't
know that radio station. A lot of radio stations. It's
just like a laptop and a closet. That's all it is.
I don't know if that's up what they're doing. And Wheeling,
we have a lot of listeners in Wheeling, and I
want to do them right anyway. Smiling Stephen wants to
(21:52):
wish diarrhea on an entire building. Smiling Stephen, good morning,
Good morning, or Stephen are Superstar superhero producer at Q
one on two in Philly. How are you doing? How
did you sleep lust night, Stephen? I slept fine. It
was a great day. And then I walked into the
studio and it's eighty two degrees in here, and like
(22:13):
a sticky eighty two. What's going on? Did they not
change the filter? I mean, well, I don't know how
you fix acies? What's wrong with your air conditioning? It
seems that every time it's going to be super hot
today and today it's going to be like one of
the first days it's super super super hot, the HVAC
unit decides not to work. So I was like, all right,
(22:33):
it's right on schedule, everything's going right. So the HVAC
unit is not working and it's super duper duper hot.
So I went downstairs to the lobby to like see
who owns this building, Like who's in charge of all
this stuff? And I walk into the Yeah, and I
walk into the lobby and the lobby is completely cold.
The air conditioning is on there. Yeah, yeah, you're cold.
(23:01):
So I'm just so all over the place with this.
I don't know. I feel like every single time they
try to fix it, and they never do, and so
I feel like maybe wishing diarrhea on them will finally
get the job done. Okay, So we're about to wish
diarrhea on an entire building. Yes, I don't think we've
done that before. That's a lot of diarrhea. That's talons
(23:21):
of gallons. All right, let's do it. We wish diarrhea
upon you. There, take that hot building. Now you have
a hot building covered with diarrhea. That's got to be
very unpleasant. Oh, maybe take that back. I don't know. Nah, nah,
(23:46):
you can't reverse engines on that stuff. All right, Well, Stephen,
good luck. You know what they say, it's getting hot
in her I'll follow our clothes, do it. No one
wants that, all right, Well, we'll be thinking about you.
So call us call someone who did call engineering. I
think they have they have a phone number they can
call for you. Okay, all right, all right, Love you Stephen,
(24:08):
good love, Love you too, Love you more. Hey. Uh.
On a serious note, I must say, I was watching, uh,
the George Floyd funeral yesterday. They were in Houston, and uh,
it was it was something I thought, it was like,
I gotta watch this, and so I I noticed. One
of the many things I noticed during the George Floyd
funeral was the people who were singing. They had and
(24:32):
most of them are from here neo singing. By the way,
did you guys know that? Oh we love him. Unbelievable
that guy. But some of their singers from the church,
I've never heard voices like this unless they were like
Grammy Winning, you know, superstars of soul. I mean there
was there was one woman who hit this note. I
(24:54):
swear to you, my hair on my head straight up.
I was like, whoa she hit the money note and
you could just tell. And this is this is what's
so beautiful about the funeral and the music yesterday, And
anytime you you apply great music and great artists to
such an important event, the music just made it so special.
(25:17):
And it got me to thinking about how music it's
just such an important part of our lives. On the
saddest days, on the happiest days, it's always there and
we always turned to it for whatever we may need
from it. If I need to pick me up, I
turned on the gay disco channel. You know what I'm saying, ye,
But if I but yesterday I was watching for the
words and what people were saying, which were all very important,
(25:37):
but when they got up to saying I was like, wow,
it was incredible. I don't know, have you ever have
you ever heard someone hit a note. It wasn't even
it wasn't even the words they were singing. They just
hit a note that somehow resonates through your body and
just makes you feel something that's so deep. It's hard
(25:57):
to explain. This is so stupid. But it's right before
the intermission for Wicked on Broadway when Alphaba hits that
note that is the money note, and as soon as
she hits it, it's like it sends all these tingles
through my body, and I'm like, this is the most incredible.
I mean, it just it does something. It's so cool.
(26:17):
It definitely does something. Yeah, incredible, Danielle, you ready to go? Yep?
But Danielle, report, what do you make him today? All right?
So this isn't made up. Katy Perry was wanted everyone
to know what a gentleman mister Harry Styles was. She
said she she caught up with him on a plane
(26:38):
and m she hadn't really announced that she was pregnant yet,
but she's told him. She's like, yeah, you know I'm pregnant,
and he was so happy. He actually got up out
of his seat and he said, oh, sit down, take
my seat, and she says, no, no, no, I have
a seat right over there. I'm just gonna go sit
on my seat. I'm on a plane, it's right over there.
But she said, just the fact that he right away
(27:00):
got up offered his seat up total gentleman. So she
just wanted everybody to know that. I thought that was
pretty cute. He's so he really is adorable. He's always
been so nice when he's come to see us. Um. So,
Liam Michelle is apparently calling everybody that she pissed off. Yes,
(27:22):
is that anybody who's she pissed off that she worked with?
She's just trying to really make amends with and she's
realizing that she did some serious damage and she wants
to apologize. So if look, if this is what it took,
you know, maybe maybe this is a wake up call
for a lot of people. If you pissed off some
people and there are people you really should say sorry to,
(27:43):
maybe now's the time to to think about it and
reach out and realize that you just do it. You know,
you never know. Black NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace does not
want the Confederate flag at the races anymore. He says
that nobody should feel uncomfortable when they come to a
NASCAR race, and so he would like the flag remove.
So that is what he is asking. Guys. The show
(28:04):
Cops is no more. They have canceled it after thirty
one years. They're also thinking of yeah wow, they're also
kit thinking of canceling Live still. Yeah, I'm sorry. Is
Cops still on? Yeah? Yeah, so it was on. It
was on Fox for all those years and then they
went off there and it was all over the place.
(28:24):
So also Live PD still up in the air because
obviously with everything going on, it's not the right show
to be on television anymore. So they have decided to
pull it. Uh. The Critics Choice twenty twenty Real TV
Award nominations have come out. RuPaul's Drag Race and Cheer
have five nominations apiece, so they are leading the way. Guys,
(28:45):
Tiger King didn't even get nominated. What the hell was
that about? That's ridiculous. That is the show. Hello. Uh.
The Jeffrey Epstein Show one that just came out got
a lot of nominations. Netflix Douz lead the way with
thirty one nominations, so there's the most. And Jeff Propes,
our boy, Jeff Propes, will be honored with the Critics
(29:07):
Choice Real TV Impact Award this year, So congratulations to him.
We all love him. So I'll give you more details
as as information comes out about that. There was a
fund of over three million dollars that got set up
in England to help musicians. It's to Help Musicians UK fund.
In just five days, it's almost out of money. Over
(29:28):
a thirty five hundred artists applied to get money because
that's how much struggling is going on right now with
everything from coronavirus. So yeah, it's crazy. This has nothing
to do with entertainment. But I'm just letting you know
that according to science, repeating the F word has been
known to increase your pain threshold. Yes, that's so next
(29:52):
time someone tells me to stop saying the F board,
I'm going to say it more. Okay, if I hurt myself,
if I hurt myself like doing what I scream that,
we're over and over and over. It's an automatic response.
So we're doing the right thing. And Travis Scott has
this great guitar medley in his song Highest in the Room.
There is a producer who has come forward and said, yeah,
(30:13):
sounded great when I made that medley as well, he
is claiming that it's his. He says that I actually
sent the beat to a guy who knows Travis, and
then all of a sudden it's in Travis's song. It's
a little different, but it's almost the same. And they
made a lot of money and I want to see
some of that money. So yeah, we'll see what happens there.
Big Hero six is on ABC tonight. If you want
(30:34):
to watch a movie, I know that your assistant Andrew's
favorite movie, so maybe you want to check that out
if you've never seen. It's pretty cool. Marvel's Agents of Shield.
You've got Game on Ultimate Tag, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,
and The Challenge. Also, all your Chicago shows are back
med Fire, PD and there's two news shows on Netflix,
Huron and Lennox Hill. So you may want to check
(30:55):
those two out because they're all new to Netflix today.
And that's my Daniel report. You know, Daniel, can we
talk about something you do I think we need to address. Yeah,
like For instance, you're talking about how lion King, not
lion King, the King of the Iron King, right tiger King,
right Tiger King didn't get any didn't get nominated for
any awards or whatever. Yeah, and then you said this
(31:16):
thing that you always do, you go, it's so read, Dick.
You don't give us the you don't give us the ulus.
There's no us. No, there's no need to waste my breath.
You know what I'm saying? Why am I going to
raise my breath on the lust part us? It's like
I hear the it's it's so red, and I say,
(31:39):
in my mind, ulus, that's like I feel in the
blanks for you. What's Cary? I'm guilty of shortening words.
Sometimes I say purf instead of perfect. Oh God, that
is not allowing. Why not no? Perf's perfect? No New
(32:00):
York experien during the pandemic. If you say toads perf,
those would be the last two words you ever say
on the show. Ever, I swear to God. Can you
be okay to text? But you can never speak that way?
Do you walk around actually saying like I d I
d KA, I mean I guess I do say I
Sometimes yes, what are you yelling about straight name. You
(32:25):
say fab all the time. You drop the us about
the fabulous it's you're like, oh, it's so fab Well
you know it's I think it's a gay guy thing.
Fab that's your past. So if anyone should know it,
it's you straight name. I always say us fabulous. Okay,
(32:48):
why do two anyway? Enough of this. Uh, let's take
a break and we'll be back after this. Els ran

show is Elvis Duran in the Morning Show. I feel awful.
There's a kid down the street who had I should laugh.
This is not good, this is not funny. He had
elimonade stand. I'm thinking, I'm sorry, I'm not going to
(33:31):
drink your eliminade. I don't even know you. Oh my gosh, no. Lie.
The other day, Brennan and I were driving and we
saw two little kids with elemonade stand and both of
us like rolled up the windows and sped up. We're like,
oh hell, I'm not approaching that right now. I don't
want a glass if your lemony covid go away exactly.
You know what when I was a kid, I used
(33:53):
to have I used to have elimonade stand every summer.
I would do eliminated stand a couple of days, and
then I get bored, you know, and of course it
cost my add more than I may ever made. It's
just you know, it's what you did. You know he
had eliminated. Yeah, you just a little glass eliminade for
a penny. But of course it took like it cost
five dollars to make. Anyway, I saw this kid just
(34:13):
like you saw the kid Gandhi, and I'm thinking, oh gosh,
I'll just stop and just give him money and tell
him to go in. Just go in. Side's gonna drinkside,
here's the money, and staid go inside. No one's gonna close,
gonna drink covid covid lemonade, nobody I know. But the
point is this, Danielle. You have kids. You want them
(34:36):
to learn, you know, maybe how to run a business
or what and this is their first foray, well, no,
this is their first foray into learning, you know, running
a business or managing a elimonade dand or whatever. Yeah,
so if you go just give them money and tell
them to go away. They're not learning anything good there.
It's like I know, well, or or are they? But
they telling them? Who has their kids out there now?
(34:59):
With with COVID nineteen going on running a lemonade stand.
Somebody's exactly. That's just stupid in itself. So there's no lessons. No, okay, okay.
It would be a great time, though. You could teach
them about how unemployment works by figuring out how much
they would normally make, sending them home and giving them
(35:19):
a little piece of that. I'm awful, little billy. I'm
now going to teach you the word furlough. I don't know.
This is not you're not an essential word. I don't know.
Maybe it's the best time. I don't know anyway. So
I saw the kids lemonade stand. I'm like, uh, what
about girl scout cookies? Soone's at the door, Oh God,
(35:41):
pretend to run not home? Who is it? Oh? No,
I'm impressed at the food delivery people right now, how
fast they leave it and take off? Because I will
see that they're approaching. So I'm like, okay, cool, there's
food coming. And then they knock and as soon as
I open the door, because I'll be right there, they're
already gone. I'm like, how did that even happen? They
just vaporized so fast. I understand it and it's important,
(36:03):
but it's really impressive how quickly they move. Yeah, it is. Hey.
So for Danielle's husband's birthday, we love you, Sheldon. Not
only did she give him a really cool looking squirrel cake,
which was amazing, but you guys actually did you did
an escape room online. I've never heard of an online
escape room before. How does that work? Yeah? So they
(36:26):
I think because of everything going on and people being home,
they've been trying to come up with these ideas to
keep people occupied. So this one was called the Grim
Escape Puzzle Breaklong Island. It's from Long Island, and what
it is is it's just puzzles that you need to
figure out to get out of this online escape room.
And it was about a witch who had locked you
(36:46):
up and you had to break her spell in order
to get out, and you can do it with your friends.
So we actually did it with a couple of our friends.
They did it from their homes and it's in a
zoom room and there's like the puzzle master who comes
on and she kind of leads you you in the
right directions and if you have any questions or if
you need any hints and you can't figure things out,
(37:07):
and there's all these clues and you're you're figuring out
the puzzles as you go along. Yeah, it was awesome.
We had the best time. We got out of the room,
not with much time left. You haven't act about about
live escape rooms is they scare the hell out of you.
They're they're gonna try to right. Yeah, don't you remember
we went to that escape room in Brooklyn. Yeah, yeah,
(37:29):
don't use anyway. I went there with someone and um,
and they're they're acting like you're murderers. They're gonna murder
you if you don't do they're gonna torture you. And
and and I'm thinking along, no, you're not. You're an actor.
And I couldn't get anyto I couldn't like, you're not
(37:52):
gonna hurt me. If you hurt me, I will sue
you and I'll take you. It's like I couldn't get
into the into the I couldn't get into the care character.
I couldn't let them scare me. I'm like, I was
looking at if I had a watch i've been I
would have been looking at it like, is this You
have the opportunity, if you have if you have the
opportunity to be online with other friends and you interact
(38:14):
with each other in your zoom room and it's just
really answering puzzles or figuring puzzles. I get that. Yeah,
that was fun. We had a good time. So, um,
how's Brodie doing? Push the Brodie button? Good morning, Brodie?
How's it going? Good morning? What I mean? It's not cool? Right?
Never mind? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't
(38:38):
I put him on hold. I'm sorry. I didn't need
to do that to them. I feel awful now. I
feel awful that you know he's in there in the
quiet kitchen, and then when he talks to us, he
has to run to the other room because he doesn't
want to wake up the family. I feel what a
jerk I am. I'm sorry. I know he's listening to
us on hold. I'm sorry, Brodie. I'll never do it again. Um,
oh god, there's something else I want to talk to
(39:00):
you about. The whole list of things. Oh, by the way,
if you haven't driven your car in a couple of months,
you need to open the hood and check it before
you turn it on, because there's rats and mice in there,
just letting you what he well, they especially in the
colder first half of the pandemic. You know, mice, rats,
they're nesting. So oh, here's a nice place I'll nest here. Well,
(39:21):
there's a fan right there. Rat mouse. So when you
go start your car, you really should check it, make
sure there's no nesting going on, because when you start
your car, it's like I mean, it's slices and dices.
It's not good. Nate, you found one in your under
your hood. And we were younger, we had a bunch of,
you know, just crappy cars, and I remember we got
(39:43):
in one and turned on the heat and this smell
coming out. Apparently a mouse had died somewhere in the motor. Oh, Mike,
you will never forget that smell. If you've ever had
something die in your car and it's been warmed up
by the engine, Oh my god, I can help Vivid now,
(40:03):
Cross It's awful people have experienced that, Elvis. It's serious.
You know, I know that smell because out here at
the house. So this is an old, creaky farmhouse. The mice,
the field mice get into the walls during the winter
and when they if they die in there. You're like, oh, well,
so either we have to rip a wall out and
clean it out or just sit there and live with
a smell for a couple of days. I smell your pain.
(40:29):
All right, this is a disgusting conversation. Hey, I gotta
remind you the All In Challenge is still on and
what an incredible, incredible, uh institution this thing has become.
I mean they have raised Hey Danielle, can you go
on and see how much money they've raised to stop
hunger in America? Well, the All In Challenge, Elvis Durand
(40:50):
show package is pretty cool. Uh if you win it.
If you win it, we will make sure you're in
New York City in your own hotel room, a nice hotel,
not just leaves bag hotel. No, and uh, we'll take
you to jingle Ball. You can go backstage with us
and watch this introduce the stars. You can walk to
the right carpet. You can get the swag bag that
all the stars get at jingle Ball. And also you
(41:12):
can come in to co host our show with us
and then we'll take you to brunch over at Walkers.
It's only ten dollars to just buy a chance, and
then you can spend more money if you want to
buy more chances. Go to all in Challenge and search
for Elvis Duran and you have told June seventeenth to
get it done. How much money they RaSE so for
Danielle almost fifty seven million dollars. Just that amazing, It's
(41:37):
pretty incredible. So, as Danielle was saying yesterday, our package
is a lot better than most and of course nice thanks.
Keep in mind that you know it's it's all, you know,
it's all depending on what we can and cannot do,
and we'll figure it out. Okay, just win it first
and we'll figure out the details later. So again, go
to all in challenge dot com do a search for
(41:58):
Elvis Duran and you have killed June seventeenth to help
stop hunger in America and possibly come have a boozy
brunch with us. I would just a brunch. No booze allowed,
okay booze okay, we'll have booze Caitlin his online too. Yeah,
she's a remedy for car mice. This is a great
I do a great topic. Go right ahead, Okay, So
(42:18):
I actually I work at a service department. Um, and
I we see this a lot. Actually, my dad we
were traveling in. It just happened to him. But if
you go to like a Dick Sporting Goods or a
Cabella's or anything like that, you can get like any
type of fox or fox or deer, you'urine and um,
that'll just sprink it on your sprinkle it on your
engine compartment and rats and rice and everything. We'll stay away.
(42:42):
Fox or deer urine? Can I just open the hood
and peon it myself? Or does it have to be
from a fox or a deer? I mean, I don't
think that it's from It has to be from a
fox or a deer, but I mean it has to
be an animal not human, right, it has to be
a predator predator typically, I guess a dear wouldn't be
a predator from mine. But I don't know what Froggy doing.
I don't know he's taken a poop on his engine
(43:04):
out there under the hood. Even things safe all right,
but it's always good though before yeah, before you start
your engine, though it hasn't been on in a while,
I do suggest you open that hood and check it out. Caitlin,
thank you for listening. I'm gonna head over to Dick's
Sporting Goods now and buy some urine. If you need me,
I'll be over there. Thanks for listening to us. So kit,
(43:26):
let's have a good day, okay, Oh Marissa Line twenty four. Oh,
here's why you should check under your hood. Marissa, tell
them what you found in your car. We found kittens
limping in my car, and so I'm hoping that you
found them before you started the engine. Oh god. Yes,
we noticed that there was a cat out in the
(43:47):
driveway in the morning, and I was like, that's kind
of weird. So I went to take the trash ow
and I just kind of peaked under the car and
I noticed that there is a cat and a kitten.
So I was like, oh boy. I was hoping that
the mother would take them away because I was out there.
But then I had to go source hood check just
(44:08):
in case they were in the car and shure, we're
not the lifting the hood, and there was three kittens
living in the living in the engine. There you go. See,
this is why you should check under the hood before
you turn on your car, or you haven't driven since
the beginning of this pandemic. You know, we can talk
about animals under hoods all day, but I think we're
gonna move on. Now. Can we move on? Were we
allowed to move on? Let's get into the three things
(44:31):
we need to know from Bondy and then we have
a phone tap on the way. Who's doing the phone tap?
Today's Gary. Oh, we have Nate and Sam doing a
tag team straight Nate producer, Sam, I remember this. It's good,
all right, that's all the way, all right, Gandhi, what's
going on? All right? Republican senators are opposing calls to
defund police departments. The Senate resolution was introduced yesterday that
(44:53):
puts the Senate on record as being against defunding law enforcement.
The resolution claims that understaffed police departments and trained police
officers actually increase the risk of encounters that result in
the use of force. Protests around the country over police
brutality and racial injustice continue on today. George Floyd was
laid to rest next to his mother yesterday, And in
the middle of all of this, Georgia is now catching
(45:15):
heat for voting problems and largely minority counties. During the
primaries yesterday, residents complained of excessively long waits, issues with
new voting machines, and a shortage of available ballots. The
Secretary of State so the problems were unacceptable and his
office will investigate how the regions can get things right
before the November election. And finally, how about this. A
twenty two year old named Kennedy Mitcham has gotten Miriam
(45:37):
Webster to change its definition for racism. She wrote to
the company saying she didn't think that the standing definition
was adequate after having arguments in which people have pointed
to the definition to prove that they're not racist. So
Miriam Webster said that they're going to change it. Originally
they said that the definition was based mostly on literary
references and not real life. So now it's going to
include groups being targeted by systematic oppression as well. And
(46:00):
those are your three things. Move that scary if you
got it, we'll do that later. Perfect, Thank you very much.
Sorry we're speaking this top secret language. Uh my apologies.
We'll take a break in your phone tap with Straight
Night and producer Sam coming up after this. Hey, this
is John Lege. What's up, chain smokers? Hey, this is
(46:21):
a Gina Menzel with Elvis durand Elvis Elvis durand the
Elvis durand phone tap. I love these tag team phone taps.
All right, so I Producer Sam is here. Hi. So
you're obviously a part of the tag team. So it's
you and Nate Straight Nate. We have to we have
(46:42):
to do your phone tall I know it. Sam's got it.
She's got she know you're a part of it. You
come on responsibility for your mess. Okay, all right, So
producer Sam and Nate, do you want to tell us
a little about your phone tap? Sure? So Amy wanted
us to phone tap her husband Dave. Dave runs his
own construction company and recently saw an ad for a
dozer for sale. He called up the seller, left a message,
(47:03):
and Amy thought it would be great if we called
as the seller of said dozer. What's a dozer construction? Okay, hey,
it's some construction and equipment of talking. All right, here
we go. It's a tag team phone tap with producer
Sam and Straight Name. Let's see what happens to you?
We can Good morning to Dave with Hi Dave, this
(47:27):
is Becky Lee. I'm calling back. I think you were
interested in my dozer. I believe it was a four
fifty model. Basically, I'm just looking for someone who could
come and pick this up from me pretty immediately. Um,
you know how many hours are on the engine? You
know what? Hold on one second, hey Bobby? What how
(47:47):
many hours you put on that tractor yours out back?
About twelve hundred. We take it to touch every Sunday.
You should know that by now. How do you want
to know that? Don't worry about don't worry about it.
So it's about twelve hundred hours to there, you phone? Um,
do you know if there's any other damage? That's the
definitely enclosed cab right? Oh yes, still closed? Hold on though,
(48:08):
let me just make sure everything's all tiptop shape in there.
Hey Bobby, what I'm watching TV? Who are you on
the phone with? Dolly? Who's on the phone now? It's
my friend Dave. You don't have no friend, Dave, Dad?
(48:28):
What do you want the phone for? I'm calling about
the ad that you have first selling that John dear
bulldozer there we selling, Bobby Lee. It has definitely time
to let go with this guy. I've been telling you
you hush. Your isn't actually for sale. Yes, it's not
for sale. It is not for sale. I'm getting madded
in wet hand right now. This thing is not for sale.
(48:50):
Story on me. You definitely want this, I promise I
won't get you this dope. You sound like you're using
it for its intended person anymore. Are you actually dozing
stuff or you just kind of sounds like driving it
around town a little bit? What do you know about
driving a tract? What is your name? Name? Get him
upon where my name is Dave. I run a construction company.
We're branching out into paying Maybe it was just your wife.
(49:13):
I guess that might have placed this ad, but she,
you know, said selling to John. And my wife is
pretty as a peach, But I swear to god, she
just does not have a good head on her shoulders.
We are not selling. Why is he laughing so much? Dave?
I'm gonna get you to this by the end of
the week. He always ends up listening to me. This
isn't funny. Maybe I need to let you guys kind
of settle this and called I'm gonna show you how
(49:33):
much I use that Hang on one sick, don't you dare?
Are you you're running the doser? Now? Yeah, you're gonna
have to get this shout between yourself, Dave. Nothing runs
like a deer. Yeah. I can hear it running. It
sounds fine. I'm taking it where this woman can get
(49:56):
her hands on y'all. I'm gonna have to hang up
and don't you leave me? Yeah, anyway, ma'am, you're gonna
have to settle list between you two, I think and
then uh yeah, oh dag named I just hit Amy's fans. Amy,
(50:17):
are you there with us? Hi? Wait, Dave, this is
Sam and Nate from Elvis Durand in the Morning show.
And your wife just phone tap to you. I listen
to you. Do have an idea for a phone tab?
Go to Elvis duran dot com, click on the phone
tap tab tell us what you want to do. This
(50:38):
phone tab was prerecorded with permission granted by All Party
Series me. Elvie's durand phone tab were boldly on Elvis
Durand in the Morning Show. I gotta tell you you
guys did great together. I love that. I'll be honest,
I can't remember. The phone table may have been. That's
not good. Pretty stroke number one? I can't remember. Oh
(51:01):
really yeah, Wow, isn't that weird? There's something that just
kicked it out of it. Well, it was great just
to let you know you did do that phone type.
That was you, producer Sam. Fabulous. People loved it all right,
great job, excellent. By the way, Leslie Odom Junior is
going to join us in our zoom room. We're gonna
talk to him about all sorts of projects and how
he's feeling about the world. Coming up on in about
(51:22):
forty minutes, and he has this new show coming out.
It's called Central Park. It's an animated show. It's musical
as well, and he plays the father of a family.
They live in Central Park. He is in charge of
keeping the park going. He's the park director. I guess,
I don't know. We're gonna talk about that in some
other project Trump projects he's working on, including finally, if
(51:45):
you've you've heard the hype, You've never seen You've never
seen um Hamilton, Hamilton Hamilton, Oh my god, it I
was I was called Burr because he plays Aaron Burrows. Anyway,
if you've never seen Hamilton. Now you can see it
on Disney Plus. We're gonna talk about that with Leslie
Odam Junior, Like, is it forty minutes from now? We'll
talk to him. All right, let's get a let's get
(52:06):
into the three things, no, no, the twenty five things
that you need to know from Danielle. Can you tell
I'm frustrated right now? Okay during the breaks and the songs,
I'm trying to get Max to go outside and pee,
and I'm like, I know that inside time is ticking,
the phone taps about to end. I'm like, pee and
he's like sniffing everything. I'm like, please pee, please, and
(52:30):
he just won't pee. I can't get my dog to pee.
It's like, can I go back? Mat said for a minute?
What that He was talking about his stroke and how
he forgets things. This is a great this is he
can use this to his advantage. Do you guys realize
that card he forgets anything. He's like, oh, you know
(52:53):
my medication from my stroke. I have a little fuss
all the Stuffide just say you decide one day that
you it's just not working out with Heather. You can
forget you. You can absolutely pretend you forgot her one
morning and just way, hey, have have we not learned
(53:14):
that until you know what they're going through, you don't
know what they're going through. We don't know what it's
like to have a stroke. Yeah. Maybe, like Nate could
possibly pull off any crime. He could say anything and
insult you to the utmost degree of insulting you and say,
I'm sorry. It's it's that stroke, it's the it's the
sort talking I'm sorry, and then all is forgiven. You're fine.
(53:38):
I'll be honest. There have been things that I've legitimately forgotten,
and I think, what was that? I don't remember? But
then there have been things that I don't want to
remember because I don't want to do them, And I say,
I don't remember that. There are little things, but on
the whole, they're mostly things that I don't remember because
I legitimately don't remember. We'll never know. No, Yeah, you've
(53:59):
you've earned it. My god, you paid twice, Henyelle, let's
get going. What do you have going on today? All right?
So movie theaters in California are going to start reopening.
They can as soon as June twelfth, so actually I
think June twenty fourth, actually around then, but there's going
to be a lot of rules. So twenty five percent
(54:20):
capacity and no more than one hundred people, whichever is less.
So that's not a lot And that's how it's going
to be the first two weeks, and then obviously if
things work out, they'll open it a little bit more.
You have to sit every other person or every couple
of people, and this is gonna be a lot of rules.
So I don't know about you, though, I will not
be one of the first people going back to movie
theaters when they opened by us. You know, neither O no,
(54:43):
And I'm gonna wait a little while and Lollapalooza in Chicago.
They were really hoping that they weren't going to have
to cancel, but unfortunately they have decided that yes, they
do have to cancel. So next year they are excited
because it will be their thirtieth anniversary, so they're hoping
to celebrate that with us and do it live. They
will be doing some live stream stuff July thirtieth to
(55:05):
August two. That whole weekend. It's gonna be some live stuff,
some stuff we've already seen, some archives stuff, so that
will be happening. I'll keep you posted as we get closer. Um,
I told you this before, but this is how many
people are struggling. Through COVID nineteen it was a fund
of over three million dollars set up in the UK
for musicians struggling. Over thirty five hundred artists applied and
(55:28):
in less than five days all the money is almost gone.
Because people need money. People are struggling, So it's crazy.
You guys saw Bill and Ted's excellent adventure Back in
the Day with Keanu Reeves. Right, well, it's coming back
Bill and Ted's face the music where we hitting the
theaters August twenty first, and the first trailer is out,
(55:52):
Yes it is? Is it them? Is it still? Keanu Reeves?
And I think it is. Go and look at the trailer.
I think that this is one of the movies that
my husband wants Just did it Again to see you
just did it again? You said a three day Did
I say that every day? I don't even realize that
I'm saying it. It's just in my veld. You have
and you didn't have a stroke. You should remember these things,
(56:14):
you said. Danielle jup Nte uh comicbook dot Com is
saying that there's a rumor that Matt Reeves may bring
into the Batman trilogy a brand new actor to play
the Joker, so we're gonna wait and see if that happens.
Um Also, I know this has nothing to do with entertainment,
(56:35):
but I'm doing it every single report. According to science,
if you repeat the F word, it will increase your
pain threshold. Honey, did you hear that? If I keep
saying the F word, my pain threshold is much better?
Thank you? He said. Okay, you're feeling no pain at all?
Are you? I'm having no pain whatsoever. And tonight on television,
(56:56):
Big Hero six. That is your assistant Andrew's favorite movie.
If you want to watch it, it's actually really cute movie.
I Marvel's Agents of Shields game on Ultimates Tag, You've
got Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The challenge is on
a lot of Chicago shows are coming back in on Netflix.
There's two brand new shows, Kuran and lennux Hiale, so
you may want to check those out as well. And
that's my Danielle report again. Head on over to all
(57:19):
end Challenge dot com do the search for Elvis Durand
and you can win our Elvis Durand Morning Show package,
which includes going to jingle Ball with us backstage and
co hosting the show. I was saying, really, is someone's
gonna pay for that? And I was told, yes, that's
a premium. Really it got me to thinking, shouldn't we
be a little more excited about coming in here every
(57:39):
day if everyone else wants to do it too. I
don't know. It's like, well, I'm excited about coming in
every day, but I didn't know. You know, it's worth
a lot, like fifty million dollars we've raised so far.
In the all End Challenge, it's as little as ten
dollars to enter in to win the Elvis Drand Morning
Show package. So again, go to all end Challenge dot
(57:59):
com um and do a search for Elvis Strand Show.
You have til June seventeenth, which is in a week.
I guess right, all right? Uh oh, By the way,
they're saying, now, as you know the COVID news changes daily,
hugging is less risky than hand shaking. Are we ever
going to shake hands again? I'm wondering. I was never
a fan in the first place, so I'm okay letting that.
(58:21):
Gods they are I bet there's a lot of old school,
you know, people who are like, yeah, I've got to
get back to shaking hands because that's the way we
did it back then. Dude, I think we should we
should leave that alone. Yes, Danielle. Oh, when you hug,
are you gonna turn your head? Because I am, like
I do already, like you turn your head. Okay, So
(58:43):
if I'm preparing for a hug, see, oh, there's Nate,
I'm going to hug him. I'll take a deep breath,
hold my breath like this, and I'll go over and
hug him barely and the way yeah, and then I'll
back up. I'll walk backwards and then I'll exhale. Yes,
but you can't turn your head to the same side,
like if you turn your head left, and then if
(59:03):
you turn your head to the same part, that's gonna
be bad. You both gotta turn your heads directions. And
I just go ahead and say I don't want to
hug if that's the way we have to hug, like,
I'll past. That's how I know we're gonna hug that way,
and you're gonna like it. Well, maybe all this time,
maybe hugging with his crotch has just been the right
(59:24):
way to go time. Maybe maybe that was a safe hug.
All right, Oh, I'm so excited to talk about honey.
I already had my my first Honey experience of the
day during the phone tap. We'll be back right to this.
Let's talking about I just think this whole thing is crapped.
This in the Morning show. So ever, go online and
(59:49):
you're shopping and it's time to check out. It says
enter promo code for savings. You're like, I don't have
a promo code, and I get mad, I get jealous.
It's those who have promo codes. Uh. So I go
searching online. I can't find it. From how much grow it?
Just payful price and get out of here. I hate
having to do that with honey. It's an extension to
your browser. You just push the button at checkout and

Target dot Com a few minutes ago. I'll go ahead

for the house and boom, hit my honey, hit my honey,

Go to Honey dot com slash duran. That's Honey dot
com slash duran. You're gonna love him. Hi, guys, how
are you I listening every single morning? I'm such a
huge I love you guys. Hi, I just love you guys. Hi.
(01:01:18):
Oh my god, I love him so much. Cheap you
guys are my favorite. And it was brody, which means
brody was wrong. Do you happen to remember the last
time I went to the bathroom. I'm the alpha of
Alpha Alpha. Room is full of shallow Alvis Duran in
the Morning Show. Yeah, Leslie Odom Junior in the Zoom
(01:01:42):
room with us in about thirty minutes. He's got so
much going on. He is definitely a working artist. I
don't know so many projects. I don't know how he
keeps up with them. Uh, Frog, you're kind of ahead
of us on this. You've been out to restaurants to
eat in Jacksonville, right, Yeah? And uh, always outside? Or
(01:02:03):
did you ever eat inside? We have chosen to eat outside.
The weight It's funny, the weight for outside is much
longer than the way it is for inside. There's usually
tables available inside, but everybody's waiting for a table outside.
Because I was last night to sitting around thinking about, Okay,
the first time I go to a restaurant, maybe it's
one of my favorite restaurants, but they don't have outdoor dining.
Maybe how do you do it? And so I was
(01:02:26):
I was like, so of course Google was there for me,
Like what do I do? So they tell me, do
not dine with people you don't live with. There's a
good idea. Oh okay, you're already h you already have
each other's cooties. Yeah, if you have any symptoms, even
mild symptoms, don't go Do not go out to eat,
(01:02:47):
and don't just show up. You You need reservations in
a lot of these places, right frog, Yeah, you do
need reservations places that take them. You should call ahead
and see if they have, you know, seeming available. Um.
The other night we were eating Lisa Caden and I
and I got a table over. He sneezed. Now, I
don't know if he covered his mouth or not, but
you should have seen the look on my wife's face.
(01:03:09):
She wanted this guy to get up and leave me.
It was like she was like, did you did you
see that? Did you hear that? I'm like, I think
he covered his mouth. I don't know if he did
or not. She was really upset. It's like I was
like trying to calm her down. Isn't it weird? Yes,
if you go to a restaurant, if someone pooed on
the floor, it's less offensive than if they sneeze. Also,
(01:03:32):
they're saying, when you go to the restaurant, did you
get in their order? Be patient? Because they're there. They
have a whole new kitchen. Back they were doing everything
in a whole new way. Don't start yelling and getting
getting all upset because your fries aren't there at the
same time as you're burger. And they're also saying don't
stay too long, so be patient, but don't stay too long.
I've noticed they're bringing the check sooner, so like they
(01:03:55):
don't like wait for you to finish eating and then say, hey,
do you want more? Like they will ask you, hey,
if if you're done, we're gonna go ahead, bring you
the check. They're trying to speed up the process to
get you out so you're not sitting there and so
they can move tables faster. And most importantly, don't forget
to tip. I mean, it's always important. And keep in mind,
like I said, it's a whole different universe they're working
(01:04:18):
in now. With all the precautions they're taking at restaurants,
it's I'm assuming five times harder to bring you a
meal than it was in the other in the old days,
in the old days three months ago. So tip well,
tip generously. These people are there for us, and take
good care of them. And tip, yeah, definitely, take out always,
(01:04:39):
and it is still risky, Like there is still COVID
nineteen out there and you can still get it. And
these people are putting themselves in harm's way to serve you,
so why would you not tip them? Really well? Right,
This text says, I went outside today for the first
time in three months. Oh. I stayed outside for about
an hour. My husband's my hero. He took my fears out.
(01:05:00):
He took my fears about outside seriously. And little by
little he'll be taking me outside more and more. I
went to Duncan, got an iced coffee. I've missed my
iced coffee. It's great. So, you know what, there are
many people, and I'm with you. There's still a struggle, like,
oh god, okay, and I guess it is good. It's good.
(01:05:20):
If you're gonna go out, just be on guard, be
be a vigilant, be ready to like look ahead and
see where you're going, and and plan ahead. If you
see a big crowd in a restaurant or a store,
you don't have to go there now, you can sit
outside and win till they get out or whatever. Yeah,
you know, we all want to go out. I know
scary is making plans He's ready to dive bomb every
(01:05:43):
single restaurant it's open in America becomes open. That's I'm
going to that location to have lunch, and or Scary's coming.
I'm important. He's got to get over there. And every
restaurant right by her house. Oh I can't. Well, please
please come to me. No, are there people who are
(01:06:03):
still trying to master the art of eating while wearing
a mask? Is that even a thing? A terrible plan? No,
it does say it seem like a terrible plan. But
I'm just I'm just I'm serious. I'm asking are there
people that sitting at tables who are masked and then
they'll lift it up, put some stuff in their pie hole,
and put it down. I've seen ads online for like
(01:06:25):
they're like trapdoor masks where the mask has like a
door in it. You can open it up, shove some
food in, and then close it in. I'm like, it's
kind of defeating the purpose. Well, I don't know if
it's I mean, I would see I would think I
partially covered face, it's better than a face it's not
(01:06:45):
covered it. I don't know. I'm overthinking what, Danielle, what
I'm just thinking about people that like pull their mask
down a little bit, and then they like shove food
in their mouth, and then they chew, and then they
don't have all the food in their mouth, and then
they get part of the food on their mask. Thinking
about that, Daniel, Daniel, here's an idea. Stop thinking about that.
(01:07:06):
You're grossing me out. Line twenty four is Crystal, that
was disgusting, Danielle. Please don't wind up like that again.
And then they put food in their mouth and they
may bar fit on their mask, and then Crystal, I
know it's up too. She's nuts. So Crystal, so much.
(01:07:33):
Thank you. So you actually went out for your anniversary
last night, the first time in months. Is that? Is
this true? Yes? The last time I was out was
actually a trip to New York City and um ate
a lot of wonderful food all over the place. The
last weekend in February, came back to North Carolina, had
(01:07:56):
COVID spread it to my family. So we've been super
super careful, but last night we're wonderful. Well that's why.
So you had to be super cautious. You had to
be super careful, But all in all, you're glad that
(01:08:16):
you you went an extra mile and you put up
with all the crap you had to put up with
and you had a good time. Oh my gosh, it
was wonderful and really as wonderful as the food was.
We had no doubt it would be great because it's
our favorite restaurant. But it was just so wonderful to
see the people, to see the hostess that's always there
(01:08:37):
to see, uh, you know, one of those servers that
we see often and have known for years, and just
just to see the people who and that they're okay.
You know, they're happy to be back at work. Of
course they're taking precautions. A lot of the things that
you talked about. All this totally on spot. Um, we
(01:09:00):
had reservations, they made sure that the seating was correct.
We were inside even though they had outside dining, but
it was almost one hundred degrees yesterday, so I was
not going to beat outside. Well, so, you know, you
just touched on something that I totally didn't even think about.
You saw it was good to see people who have
become your friends at the restaurant. And I get that.
(01:09:21):
I get that. Did you get food on your mask?
If you did, don't tell Danielle, she'll start going. I won't.
Happy anniversary, first of all, and thanks for share Crystal,
and thanks for listening to us most of them. I
missed your extra hour. I know mamma needed a nap,
but I turned it on Monday and I was like,
oh no, it's not my people, I don't know. You
(01:09:45):
never know, we may throw in some bonus extra hours
if everyone's in a in a sassy mood, so you
never know when one may pop off. Okay, Oh I'm
looking forward to it. Everybody, stay safe, you too, We
will Thank you, Crystal, Thank you very much. So just
thought of Okay, I just invented something. Okay, here's it's
called the eating box. You ready, who doesn't want to
hear about my eating box? Okay? I meant it so far. Okay,
(01:10:10):
So imagine like you know the marshmallow head, right you
with me, but a little larger. You put it on.
You put it on your head, and it has places
in the bottoms. You put your hands in there. And
so what they do is they open a door in
the front, they put the food in there, and they
close the door, and then you put your hands in
there and you just kind of feeding it. Looks like
(01:10:35):
such a little rat like yeah, it is. It is
to me, Yeah, to put a little hands in their
little forks, so everything you eat has to be enclosed
in the eating box that's situated on your head. I mean,
this is this is a great weight loss idea because
everything has to be smaller portions because the eating box
(01:10:57):
would have to be smaller. So the forks are smaller,
the knives are smaller, the plates are smaller, everything smaller.
So it's eating. It's control. This is right. But to
be fair, there is a workaround you can get like
a really huge Oh no, I got a better idea.
You go to restaurants and they have eating boxes that
are sanitized already in place, and you go to the
(01:11:18):
restaurant and you go underneath and you stick your body
up through the eating box and they deliver food and
close the door, and then you have little maltie talkies,
you talk to your neighbors. It's gonna be the best
way to dine. It really is a fantastic ideas idea ever,
the eating box restaurant. Yes, it really is the worst
idea ever, isn't it. I don't know. I'm trying so
many comments. You know, let's go around the room let's
(01:11:41):
see what's on your minds today other than everything you've
already told us it's on your mind. We'll start with you, Scary.
What's going on? You know? I was on the highway
yesterday and I saw on the back of a car
an Italian American flag I'm sorry, an Italian flag magnet
on the back of the car. But it was upside down.
The colors of the Italian flag are green, white, red,
and he was red, white and green. And I can't
(01:12:04):
tell you how much it made me so angry because
this person is like, I'm buying an Italian flag I'm
putting on the back of my car. I have Italian pride,
but they don't know what the Italian flag looks like.
What's up with that? Green and white? Red? Not red,
white and green? Turn the magnet upside by the way,
am I is this Groundhog Day? Because Scary's used this
as as around the room before. You guys remember that, yeah,
(01:12:26):
about ten years ago, and I was hoping you all
forgot about it. Oh, is that in your Is that
in your ten year rotation? All right, let's make a
day in twenty thirty. Scary's got to use that as
there's around the room again. Cool, Yeah, you gotta get
those figs. Uh, there is a certain order. Look at
(01:12:46):
Scotty best yawning in there. Hey, what's up with you today? Gandhi? Okay,
So yesterday I did a zoom room with some of
my friends. But we decided to do it in the
middle of the day when they were on their lunch
breaks and had some time whatever. So we all zoom
in and they looked at me and said, lucky are
you on vacation? And it made me realize again how
awesome these jobs are because no, I was still dressed
(01:13:08):
for work. They all have to get dressed up every
day for their stupid zoom meetings and go in and
do all of this stuff. I just get to sit
here in my hoodie and they thought I was off work. Suckers.
It was the best rubbing it in. It was so
we're all wearing T shirts and hoodies every day, and
Nate actually came in with a button down shirt. We're like,
(01:13:28):
what's that? What you're good? Luck? All fancy today? Thank you?
Look at you living in the past. Hey, Froggy, what's
on your mind today? What's up? I just want to
give a big thank you too. Yesterday's birthday boy, Sheldon,
Danielle's husband. Um, he sent me a gift. And nothing's
better than when you go to the mailbox and there's
a little gift in there and you didn't even expect it.
(01:13:49):
It was the peacock and you put it in water
and it hatches. And so right now my peacock has
bursted out of the tree stump and he is now hatching.
I'm going to post a picture on Instagram later today
once he's fully hatched. Yes, Sheldon sent me a hatching peacock,
and so I just want to say thank you to
Daniel's husband for making my day one day. One day.
(01:14:11):
Froggie and Sheldon are going to live together in a
home and it is going to be just something. Let
me see your peacock. Let me see your peacock right now,
the first time you've said that to me. Okay, hey,
all right, there's nothing better when you haven't ordered from
(01:14:32):
your favorite restaurant and they're open and you finally ordered
from there. We have a restaurant called San Duchies there
in Ordelle, New Jersey. And you know, I've been trying
to do like local and whatever, but cooking a lot
at home. So yesterday from my husband's birthday, we went
there and we got our favorite dishes. And I'm telling you,
I did not leave one thing on the plate. If
(01:14:54):
I could have picked up the plate and it was
appropriate for me to lick every single butter and looking
cranny from that plate, I would have. But I didn't.
But it was so delicious and I'd have no guilt whatsoever.
This morning, it was amazing, battered pride and everything. So
thank you to San Duchies and so y, thank you.
(01:15:17):
Thank you for not licking all the butters on behalf
of others that want the butter line twenty four is
either is it Jana or Janna? Yeah, I don't know. Janna.
Hi Janna, welcome to the show. What's going on in
your life? Hi Elvis. I just want to say I
love you guys oh much, and you know what, I
just want to thank you my dad. My dad passed
(01:15:39):
away last week and I didn't get to be with
him and you guys, you guys, I just know I
have you guys look forward to every morning. So you
guys give me a lot of strength every day. Thank you. Janna.
So sorry about the loss of your father. And especially
the fact that you couldn't be with him. It's just
that's this Gosh, we're so ready for many reasons for
(01:16:02):
this to roll away. Yeah, but I'm sure. I'm sure
your dad's looking down on your going it's okay, it's okay,
it's all right. No, he died in like him. I
always wake up at like around five o'clock in the morning,
and I set my alarms that I can listen to
the start of the show. And I just was kind
of laying in bed and sort of in a deep
(01:16:25):
you know, five And that morning, my dad reached out
and he grabbed my hand and I said, it's okay, Dad,
it's okay. I said, the angels were with you, and
I said, take my hand, it's okay. And when I
woke up, that's when he had passed. Wow, well, you
know what. And we were talking about with Danielle about this.
(01:16:47):
Your dad will send you signs like everyone. You'll see
you'll see a bird outside, you're like, hi, mom, Yeah, Yeah,
he sends me signs all the time. So you just
have to be open to them and watch for them
and hill set. Sometimes I'll sit, I'll ask, I'll have
a really crappy day and miss him so much, and
I'll say, you just gotta send me a sign that
you're fine, and then I know you're okay, and then
(01:17:09):
something will happen and I'll go thank you, and you
just know you know they're okay. Wow. So it's true though,
what never the impact you have on people's lives, because
you do help us more than you'll ever know. So
thanks you, God bless you. Try to get my hair done? Okay,
(01:17:33):
wait wait wait, hold on, Yeah, this is big news.
So you're getting your hair done right now? I am
Brand's doing my hair and I haven't seen her for
six months. It's awesome. Who wo oh? So so so
what's your name? Her name's Bryn? Okay, so is she
(01:17:54):
is she gonna do? Is she gonna color your roots?
And stuff like that? How far are you going today?
What are you doing in the overall? Like we're talking overhaul?
Oh my god, that plastic surgery happening right? Yeah? Yeah,
I cannot wait. I'm going on June twenty third, I
got it. I can't. I'm counting down. I cannot wait.
(01:18:14):
Let's go. So they're playing the show in the salon
and I'm like, oh, my god. This is you follow
me wherever I go and I love it. And here, yeah,
we're stalking. We'll make sure whatever whatever brand does, don't
don't let her give you the Karen cut. We don't
need more wedges. No, no, no, no, no Karen cut.
(01:18:36):
Well look, God bless you Janna and your family. And yeah,
when you see a bird land outside, you say, hey,
there's my dad looking at her. And I'm I gotta wondering.
I'm wondering if I see like an animal I don't
like to come by. Is that still my dad? I'm
like a snake. I hate snakes. Oh, I don't want that.
Maybe it takes I don't know. Is a snake today? Yeah, Froggie,
(01:19:00):
what's up? Every time Lisa sees a butterfly, she always
thinks it's somebody. So she thinks it's her mom, or
she thinks it's Kobe, our dog that passed away about
four and a half years ago. And so every time
we see a butterfly, I try to catch it and
let it land in my hand, and I talked to
it and then I let it go. Oh, I'm glad
you let it go, because that's a good thing. Well, look, Janna,
(01:19:21):
thank you for listening. Go get your hair, did I
can't wait to I can't wait to see you send
us a picture. I love you guys so much. Okay,
thank you very much. Have a great day. All right,
let's get into the three things you need to know
from Gandhi and Leslie Odom Junior. We're going to talk
to him about all sorts of stuff coming up in
about ten to fifteen minutes. All right, Gandhi, it's all
(01:19:42):
up to you. What's going on? All right? More controversy
now surrounding the case of Brianna Taylor, who was killed
in her home when Louisville police botched a raid. Now,
multiple women say that they were sexual assault victims of
one of the officers involved, saying Brent Hankerson sexually assaulted
them after offering them a ride home in his police via.
Records obtained by a Louisville news outlet show that he
(01:20:03):
has face sexual misconducts claimed misconduct claims in the past,
including exchanging sex acts for not arresting a woman in
two thousand and eight. The officer, along with two other officers,
are on administrative leave as the FBI investigates Brianna Taylor's death,
Defense Secretary Mark Espert is keeping his job for now.
The Wall Street Journal reports that President Trump asked for
(01:20:25):
opinions on relieving Esper from his position, but his advisers
told him not to. This comes after Esper and Trump
disagreed on using the Insurrection Act to use force against
peaceful protesters over the death of George Floyd. Protests around
the country over police brutality and racial injustice continue on today.
George Floyd was laid to rest next to his mother yesterday,
(01:20:45):
and on a much lighter note, but still a little
worrisome if you use Nintendo, Nintendo says that more users
were hacked in April than they originally thought. Yesterday, the
company said three hundred thousand accounts have been broken into.
It was first announced that it was about one hundred
and sixty thousand accounts, but they said they would reset
those and they will take care of the issue as
far as they as best as they can. But if
(01:21:05):
you have a Nintendo account, it could have affected you,
and those are your three things. Scary is all upset
about this Italian flag thing? Yeah, I just saw that, Okay,
So he saw people with the Italian flag upside down
on their cars. Yes, yeah, but people are saying, well,
that's the Hungarian flag. No, because in a different direction
(01:21:25):
for the Hungarian flag, it's not if you if you
take the Italian flag and you turn it upside down,
you do not get the Hungarian flag. You get you
get nothing because the stripes are vertical versus horizontal. All right, well,
it's like you we've given the dog anu toy to
chew on scary one all day to day. All right, well, good,
(01:21:48):
keep keep looking at that. Figure it out. It's all good.
I'll just take a break. Leslie Odom Junior is going
to be with us coming up after this. Thank you.

(01:22:32):
to talk. Leslie Odom Junior into making some time for us,
and this is awesome. Welcome to the show, Leslie, could
to see you. Thank you so much, Thank you for
making time for me. I'm happy to be back. You know,
it seems like it was yesterday, but it was actually
March twenty fourth that you and your wife Nicolette did
the Elvis dre In Morning show Stay at Home Ball. Yeah,
(01:22:54):
and then your little daughter crashed the whole performance. I
was very upset about that, you know, working from home.
We had to we just had to get used to.
You know, it's kind of it's there's no we don't
have an upstairs downstairs, there's no you know, I'm outside
right now because you know, we've just we've learned that. Yeah,
(01:23:15):
it's just it is what it is over here. Yeah.
I think this is great. I love the fact that
when you're interviewing some of your favorite artists, you know,
all of a sudden, the naked baby runs by in
the background, or if you're watching, you're right, you're watching us.
So we tried to do a serious news story and
then dog starts barking. It's like, I love it. I
think it's yeah. I mean, you know, I don't know. Well,
(01:23:36):
I had to be really accepting. Yeah, well, I'm so
glad you you're devoted to the next five hours to
talk about your list of everything that you've got going on.
We've got we've got some fun things to discuss. We've
got some serious issues we need to discuss it. I
remember your your farewell performance from Hamilton back in what
five six years ago? You actually dedicated your performance to
(01:24:00):
gun violence. Do you remember that? I mean that was
that was a long time ago. But ever since then, Leslie,
it seems like you have been constantly putting your voice
out there to try to make our world a better place.
How are you feeling. Do you think it's working? Um?
Certainly not. My one voice alone wasn't working. But when
I look at what's happening in the streets, I have
(01:24:22):
I can't you know, can't help, but I have. I
have so much hope, you know, when I look at
people taking to the streets. Um, but people, the conversation
has progressed in my lifetime in a way that I
don't know if I ever thought that it would. You know,
people are having really honest, open dialogue about racism, and
(01:24:42):
it starts there. It starts with being just being honest
about what we're living through, what we've lived through. You know,
it starts there before we could heal anything, and people
just for so long have not been willing to be honest.
And for the first time you're seeing the flowering of
consciousness and people really going for whatever reason. Now, I
(01:25:05):
think it has to do with it, you know, it's
the George Floyd is in a lot of ways, he's
our Emmett till and that you know, when when Emmett
was murdered and his mother made that decision to you know,
to have that open cask at funeral, and she said,
you know you're gonna You're gonna see my baby. You know,
you guys hear about little black kids being murdered all
the time, but maybe for the first time for a
(01:25:27):
lot of people, that was the first time they'd ever
seen it, and it kicked the civil rights fight into
a whole new gear. And George Floyd, it was there
was something about watching that, There was something about seeing
that murder happened those eight minutes that changed people. People
hadn't seen hadn't seen it in that way. You know
what I was reading earlier one of the interesting perspectives
(01:25:48):
that we all got from watching that awful scene was
you didn't see a close up of George Floyd or
that officer. You saw them both framed together. You're watching
interaction between two people and saw the devastation happen right
there in front of you. I thought that was that
point of view, I think made it extra powerful. At
the same time, being honest, white people being honest. And
(01:26:11):
we've noticed in the past week we are we are
not slowly, we're quickly reducing our listener load. It's like,
because we're coming on here, we're saying where it's at.
We're talking about the truth and where we need to
be putting our heads in our and our souls. And
I and I was telling my boss, with each listener
we lose, and with each person that drops us on
social media, I feel more relief. I feel like we
(01:26:34):
can actually come in here and do what we need
to do. With that said, black lives matter, how has
it changed from five years ago for you to now
here in this month, in this year for you black
lives matter? Is it a little different in your definition? Yes, yes,
and no. I mean you know, in the streets we
see it's not just just black people that are out there.
(01:26:59):
You know, I think when when that started, you know,
in Ferguson, those were mostly black bodies that were out
there in those streets protesting. In the streets we see
people standing shoulder and shoulder it. You know, really is
a coalition of people out there in the streets that
are that are demanding change. Also, I just think that
(01:27:20):
there's a conversation that's happening. I see it on my
social media. You know, white people talking to white people specifically,
you know, them them handling some stuff, you know, between
each other. There are black people talking to black people specifically.
And then of course we're talking to each other. And
so there are several private conversations that are happening in
the public space. There's people that are talking about trauma
(01:27:43):
that they've never I'm one of them. And there's people
that are talking talking about trauma and personal experiences that
they've never talked about before. You know, they're they're psychological
trauma that people have to heal from. You can't heal
it if you're not telling the truth about it. And
people are finally telling the truth about it for the
first and then it's happening in every industry. I have
a friend that's a you know, have a brilliant friend
(01:28:04):
who I went to middle school with, Michelle Morris, who's
a doctor, and she's talking about racism in the medical field,
not just you know, she's talking about, of course, the
way doctors are treated, but the way they're treating their patients,
and how black patients are treated differently than white patients.
And I have friends, you know, of course, in the
corporate world that are saying this has been my experience.
Different people in entertainment, of course, are gathering together. So
(01:28:25):
it's kind of like white people need to brace. Our
society needs to brace because if you're four black employees
haven't haven't had the time yet, or the or the
space yet to come to you and tell you the
truth of their experience. Just know that they're coming. They
haven't come yet, Know that they're coming. There's gonna be
some Yeah, put on the calendar. It's gonna happen, and
(01:28:46):
it needs to happen. And by the way, if you're
just turning us on, Leslie Odom Junior is here, we're talking.
We haven't even started to talk about everything we need
to talk about. But the most important first, and let's
move to something you said. You're talking about people in
different industries. Let's talk about people in your industry, the
live performance community of the theater. The theater makers I
know that BIPOC, the Black, Indigenous and People Color theater
(01:29:07):
makers witnessed, I mean actually released a letter to white
America theater I think this came out yesterday. It says,
we see you. We've always seen you. We've watched you
pretend not to see us. We've watched you exploited us,
shame us, diminish us, and exclude us. We see you.
So on behalf of your fellow theater makers. How do
(01:29:27):
you see live performance that industry moving into the right lane,
the correct lane. As far as how we're moving now,
I mean, we will see again. With that letter I
think is attempting to do. Was written by a coalition
of people, brilliant brilliant minds, you know, and we all
(01:29:49):
wait in you know I signed that letter. We're not
going to pretend that this is not happening anymore. The
two questions I think the most important questions are that
are emerging from our time are am I actively propagating
system that promotes white supremacy, and like, you know, do
I have hiring power? Am I carrying a baton? You
(01:30:12):
know on a police department? You know? Am am I
actively being used to propagate a system of white supremacy?
Or number right behind that? Am I allowing myself to
be used? How? Am I allowing myself to be used?
Because there is when if you talk about systemic racism,
there's a lot of arms of systemic racism that only
(01:30:32):
happens because we're holding that system up all over this society.
There's a real estate arm, and there's this medical arm
and this educational part of that thing, you know, And
so everybody in their life it's like either you continue
to live that way and you go, this is the
way I like it. But if there is a flowering
(01:30:53):
of consciousness that what I hope and what I see
happening is people taking responsibility for their owner of the
street to go. Here's how I'm going to make some
changes in my office, in my home and my dealings
with specifically black people. Here's how I'm going to do
my part to dismantle racist system. You know, And all
(01:31:14):
you have to you just have to do a little
bit of research to really come to terms with the
fact that you may not have not may not you
did not design it. It was here we inherited this system, right,
but you benefit from it? And are you okay with
that anymore? Right? You know? By the way, if you're
just turning us on again, I want you to go
(01:31:34):
back and listen to the replay later so you can
hear the beginning of what you just missed with Leslie
Odom Jr. And not only adding his valuable voice to
the business at hand, of course talking about racism in
America and all the different arms it gives us. Let's
talk about the list of work that you continue to
do as well. I don't even know where to start here.
(01:31:55):
I think I'm most excited about Central Park coming out
on Apple TV and animated show musical right, musical show
me if I'm wrong, where your character, your character and
your and your family live in Central Park as the
caretaker of the park and then people want to come
in and f it up and put condos up. I
(01:32:16):
don't know tell us what it's about, because it sounds
like fun and I love the thought that you can
take something like the story like this and put it
into animation. Yeah, He's a park ranger. Owen Tillman is
the park ranger at Central Park and so him and
his family lived there, and Owen has made it his
life's his life's goal, his life's mission, to protect that
(01:32:37):
green space, that little patch of green, a little oasis
in the concrete jungle, as it were, so um or
you know, in that in that in the in the
place you guys know better than anybody, you know, where
a patch of green is so precious, you know. So yes, Uh,
he's protecting the park from from all the forces that
(01:32:58):
that conspire to devour it. And um, he's a sweet guy.
It's it's a it's a fun role. But he lives
there with his family and they they as as often
happens with parents and children, they don't necessarily feel the
way he feels about the park. You know, it's not
the most important thing on their list, but it's a
it's a sweet little family story. And uh, those for
(01:33:21):
those people that are looking for distraction right now, looking
for something to make them smile, Central Park definitely does that.
It's Josh gad Is one of the creators. It's also
Lauren Bichard who created Bob's Burgers, and uh, it's a
it's a sweet show. Lots of music. Yeah, they wanted
music to be a part of the storytelling language. Josh
(01:33:42):
and I went to college together. People know Josh from Frozen.
Of course he's old often in the movie. But Josh
and I went to college together, and we've been I've
been working on Josh's weird little independent projects for over
twenty years. This is the first time he's paid heed
any one, so I'm happy to have fine life times.
(01:34:03):
Josh's gonna be on with this Friday. I guess he's
coming on Tark Central Park, right, Gandhi, did you have
a Do you have a question for Leslie? I do?
I mean us all living in New York City? We
are really missing Broadway right now? Do you have any
insight info on how Broadway is going to be adjusting
post COVID nineteen. I'm sorry, I'm talking to my friends. Baby,
I'm talking to my friends in New York again. Hello,
(01:34:27):
little one. Okay, I'll be right in. Sorry, she's out
to crush our show. I'll tell you show. It's cute.
She has Leslie all the rest of the day. I'm
(01:34:50):
sorry you said that is okay? About about live performance?
After this is all over. Yes, how is Broadway adjusting
what's going on? Yeah, I don't know. No, you know,
I'd like to, they'd like to give back as soon
as possible, but it's tricky. You know, those those performance
spaces are about the communal experience and the way those
(01:35:12):
theaters are set up that that happens in close proximity.
So I don't know. Um, it's one of the reasons
why I'm super excited about the fact that that the
Hamilton that Hamilton release on Disney Plus, will you know,
stand in the gap a tiny bit, Um. You know,
it's um, it was shot live. They shot they brought
(01:35:35):
in cameras and shot us live right before we all
left the show, and so it is a reminder of
how powerful that live experience can be. Um. But it's good.
We're gonna bring the experience right into your living room.
So I'm excited to stand in that gap a little
bit with that. I hope they figured out as soon
as possible, because, um, the theatrical live performance has obviously
(01:35:58):
been so a pillar in my life. You know, a
lot of people that I care about in that city.
So I hope they figured out as soon as possible.
Can I just say that you have been in two
of my favorite musicals of all time, Rent being one,
but Once on This Island. The music from that show,
I can listen to it every day, probably for the
(01:36:19):
rest of my life. It was one of the best
things I've ever seen. Loved it. Yeah, me and my
wife met in that show. Yeah, well you did the
beautiful show. Yeah, yeah, it means a lot to us.
Oh see, such a good show. The energy of doing
live theater must I'm assuming, I'm I must make an assumption.
You love all the different projects you're doing, but something
(01:36:41):
tells me that when you walk out into that stage,
there is that electricity, that energy, and all of our
friends here in New York City, and not only people
who are on the stage, but back of the back
of the stage, people who who the people who are
building sets, people who are doing everything in the industries,
are just dying to get back to work. I hope
it happened soon in some form or fashion, because you know,
(01:37:01):
of all people, what it's like to walk out on
stage and have the lights come on and you're like boom,
You're on. And then on top of everything else, you
worked with our friends Cia who we just adore a
movie called Music, which is coming out in Imax on
August twenty second. I believe, let's hope we can get
it in her to see that. What's that all about, Leslie? Yeah?
(01:37:22):
We um Cia had this. She had a dream, she
had a dream of directing an original musical, and this
was the story she wanted to tell. It's a complicated story,
but Sia only takes big swings, you know, you see
that where she's like our David Bowie or something. You know,
she's just or our Grace Jones, and she's just a
really special creative mind. So it was one of the weirdest,
(01:37:49):
maybe the weirdest little thing I've ever worked on. A
little gem. It took me. I think it was about
three months of working on it, and you know, so
much at that time was just trying to just trying
to get inside. I'd see his head and and and
and deliver for her, you know. Um. I felt like
the last couple of days of shooting, I was like, oh,
(01:38:10):
I think I think I know the movie she's trying
to make. Now. We were just chasing this whole thing
the whole time. But I have seen that and it's
it's really lovely. It's really it's a beautiful little movie.
It's not what you'd expect, and it has um. It
has Sia's genius is all over it. You know her,
her her whimsy and her width and her you know,
(01:38:34):
um politics. You know, it's just it's it's it's about
a girl that um, that uh is on the spectrum,
on the artistic spectrum, and and how she sees the
world slightly differently. Lots it's a musical, you know, so
lots of original music from Sia UM. And I am
excited for people see it. We shot the We shot
(01:38:56):
that a long time ago too, so I'm excited that
it's gonna come out finally. Well it's so funny. Thus
those of us who are not in the business, we
just think, oh, this is coming out next weekend. You
just finished that the other day, right, yeah, no can
for a while. We're learning so much from you. Well
look this list, of course, impressive, wonderful projects you have
rolling our way to keep us informed and keep us
(01:39:17):
feeling loved, and great music and acting. Of course there's music.
We got to play your song go Crazy here. But
I just want to thank you, thank you for sharing
your perspective today, and thanks for taking time to be
with us today. And and you know what, obviously your
daughter has a future on the stage, but she needs
the stage. Director says, come out. Okay, thank you for
(01:39:42):
making time and thank you for thank you for you
know this, this question is these questions and this conversation
is important publicly, but privately is most important. So thank
you for taking the time to do that too, to
ask the questions of yourselves and make the changes that
need to be made appreciated. Well, our stage is always
open for you. Thank you for being here. We've got
to play Go Crazy and we want to thank Leslie
(01:40:04):
Odom Junior, Central Park on Apple TV, June third, Leslie
Odom Junior. It's just a pleasure to have you here.
Thank you so much. Have a beautiful day to day. Okay,
she she sets, she and three something's got a hold

believe me, you just had to be there. I'm gondict

so happless. Think I'm losing my control. I'm so deep
(01:40:54):

She really learning bones. All sis go crazy, see men crazy.
(01:41:18):
She speaks like sweet, see her hip sweet, like the
wind through the chileans a kisses. I have coffee flavored whiskey.
I want to say the dancing. I'm chips high high high.
I'm gonnadict that to the fair. I can't, I can't
(01:41:40):
learn their Heaven help me. I'm so helpless. Think I'm
losing my con trial. I'm so deep under a spell.
Oh well, I don't know how she did she do
with the dark. I think she puttoo putood on the
I can't leave alone. Da she we need the bones.
(01:42:04):
She make make you crazy. Shee maniga crizy. She brings
me straight to my knees and touches the sweetest thing day.
She's making a fool out of man by her o

I could call it to the room her food, dude,
I could call it try to catch and get it
stuck and have a glasses or whatever she is. I
don't know why she do she doing it dark. I
(01:42:49):
think she puttoo doo doood on. I believe her. She
needing me like you do seven Nis seven n Hey, guys,
(01:43:20):
this is Seleni Gomes. What's up? It's Fletcher Elvis Duran.

your first year at Norton dot com slash Elvis Elvis
Duran in the Morning Show. Hey, thank you for your
wonderful response after our discussion with Leslie Odom Jr. I'm
still amazed at how much work people can do. I mean,
he's got a list of projects, everything coming out, and
(01:44:05):
that was stuff that was done before everything closed down.
He's even working his ass off during the closed down.
I mean, what a talented guy. I feel like such
a schlub. I feel like such a lazy guy. What
did you do today? As well? It took the dog
for a walk, right, I suppose it's some laundry. Some laundry,
put some stuff in the dishwasher. Well, what else did
you do? Oh? I did the show with my friends.
(01:44:28):
Well what else it's about? It? Okay, And there's Leslie
Odom Junior like cranking stuff out right. It was great
to talk to him. It was great. Hey, we do
have time for a Danielle report. Danielle. We're gonna sneak
you in here because we love you. What's going on?
All right? All right? Well, the Recording Academy, the organization
that's behind the Grammy Awards, announced today that there will
be a bunch of rule changes. That one of them
(01:44:50):
is the Best Urban Contemporary Album category is actually being changed,
so it will now be Progressive R and B. So
they've been thinking about this for a while now. They
said in a statement that the category should highlight albums
that include the more progressive elements of R and B
(01:45:11):
and may include samples and elements of hip hop, rap, dance,
and electronic music. So they've been thinking about that for
a while and they have made the change. Bubba Wallace,
who is the only black driver on the Top Flight
Cup series, wants NASCAR to ban all use of the
Confederate flag at its events, so he and his team
are actually preparing to race a car. I think is
this today? The card the race. Froggy. No, it'll be
(01:45:34):
in Miami this weekend this weekend, okay, and it will
have a hashtag black Lives Matter emblazoned on it, so
that will be pretty cool to see and that will
be going on, like Froggy said, this weekend. Katy Perry
is revealing that Harry Styles was on a flight with
her and she told him that she was pregnant and
he was so adorable and right away was like, I'll
get up and give you my seat, and she was like,
(01:45:56):
oh no, but Harry, I have a seat. We're on
a flight. My seat right over there. But thank you
very much. It's very kind of you to get up
and want to give you my give you the seat,
because you know, he's just that way and just shows
you he's a gentleman. So next time you see Harry,
just think what a gentleman he is. Lia Michelle is
apparently apologizing to the people that she has wronged, all
(01:46:17):
the people that she was bitchy too. She feels bad
and she apparently is calling them and saying I'm sorry.
So at least that's a good thing, right, You know
what It's like, people keep coming out of the woodwork,
and I mean, every day there's a new story about
someone who's upset at her. I'm thinking I'm her. I'm
feeling really beaten down right. Yeah, so I hope, you
know what, she just apologizes to everyone that moves on.
(01:46:38):
She's got a baby all the way. Yeah, And we
can all learn a lesson from this. Look at if
there's somebody that maybe you wrong, or maybe you didn't
speak to in the right way, and maybe now is
the time for you to reach out and say, you
know what, I was wrong, I'm sorry, shouldn't have done that. Serious.
I just want to let you know I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Daniel,
I'm interrupting. Go ahead, that's okay. Joe Cops has been
(01:47:00):
canceled after thirty one years, and they're saying live PD
right now, still up in the air. After everything happened,
you know, George Floyd's death and a lot of other
things that have been going on there, they're feeling it
is just not right anymore. So we're not going to
have those shows anymore. The Critics Choice twenty twenty Real
TV Award nominations are out. RuPaul's Drag Race and Cheer
up for five nominations. Apiece. I'm a little upset because
(01:47:23):
our Tiger King has not gotten any love, does not
have any nominations. What the hell the Jeffrey Epstein story though,
that got some nominations. But our boy Jeff Probs, we'll
be honored with the Critics Choice Real TV Impact Award
this year, so we're really happy about that because we
love him. And tonight on television there's a lot including Netflix,
two new ones, Kuron and Lennox pil so you may
(01:47:45):
want to check that out. And that's my Danielle report.
All right, let's get into sound with Garrett. Garrett, let's
go what do you have today? America's Got Talent last night,
another great story. This is Christina Ray and she won
over the judges by singing this can shlter, We're gonna fade.
(01:48:11):
So she did it. Quick backstory. She she has a
single mom. She was homeless and she was pregnant, living
in her own car, and then she decided to go
out in the audition for America's Got Talent, So h
listen to this. So there's a YouTuber by the name
of funk Turkey and he decided to take all the
Metallica songs put it into an AI bot and say, hey,
(01:48:31):
create a new Metallica song, and this is what it
sounds like. N I mean, such artificial intelligence wrote a
Metallica is song. Yes, exactly. Uh. Now let's go over
(01:48:53):
to country music real quick. So Kane Brown has a
song short scarp Weather, and then Florida Georgia Line has
a song called I Love My Country. Thing is. They
sound an awful lot alike and fans are starting to notice.
So here's a little mashup of that. We'll just go
out from the man. Who's that Kane Brown, baby's neighbor.
(01:49:16):
Sure's country Floria Georgia Line. Hold on, that's a different song. Yeah, crazy, No,
it's not Froggy. You're the country expert. What's going on there?
It's the same song. It is. Kane Brown had that song.
It's it never went from release, but it's been out
a long time. And then Florida Georgia Line and the
(01:49:38):
Florida Georgia Line that's their current single. They do sound
exactly alike. Not sure we'll see a lawsuit between the
two of them because they're buddies. But the country people
don't sue each other. Yeah, country people don't Sue. They're
just all nice. They're going, that's okay, Kane, you did
a good job. It's okay, Florida, Georgia line. You're good,
(01:49:58):

this tree. Woman. Thank you. You're a good American, Garrett,
Thank you so much. What are you having for breakfast? Wait?

This is Elvis Duran in the morning show. This text. Hey,
since Elvis is doing the show from home, does that
mean he's throwing his own chairs when he's mad. No,
(01:52:40):
I'm not gonna. I don't have a No, iHeart has
a budget for chair throwing. I haven't thrown a chair
in a long time. It's so cathartic. I say, everyone
pick up a chair and throw the son of a bitch. Seriously. Okay, anyway, Uh,
let's get into the three things we need need to
know from Gandhi. We have a phone tap coming up
(01:53:01):
in about fifteen minutes, done by producer Sam and Straightenate. Interesting.
They sound like they're from Ozark. It's kind of a
that's on the way. But Gandhi, you're keeping an eye
on everything that's important for us to keep an eye
on what's going on right now. Well after a number
of cities promised to defund their police departments, Republican senators
are opposing that move, and a Senate resolution was introduced
(01:53:23):
yesterday that puts the Senate on record as being against
defunding law enforcement. The resolution claims that understaffed police departments
and undertrained police officers increase the risk of encounters that
result in the use of force. Protesters around the country
are Protests are still happening around the country over police
brutality and racial injustice. George Floyd was laid to rest
(01:53:43):
next to his mother yesterday, and while all of this
is going on, Georgia is now catching some heat for
voting problems in largely minority counties. The primaries happened yesterday.
People are very upset. Residents complained of excessively long waits,
issues with new voting machines, and a shortage of available ballots.
The Georgia's Secretary of State says that the problems were
unacceptable and his office will investigate how the regions can
(01:54:05):
get things right before the November elections. And finally, a
prison in Italy is having an interesting scenario happening right now.
Two prisoners escaped, but they were nice enough to leave
guards a note promising that they will be back in
two weeks. They just have to tend to some business.
They say that they're worried about their families. Yeah, so
they had to go take keV all of that, make
(01:54:27):
sure that their families are okay, that their wives and
kids are all right, and that they're going to come
back in just a couple of weeks. Both of them
are non violent offenders, so they might just be back.
Thought was really interesting, And those are your three things.
I wonder how that's gonna be. That's gonna go down
when they get back, right, Oh, it's okay. You know
you left a note. Just come on back there, have
(01:54:47):
a seat, give me a couple of weeks. I'll be
all right back. Thank you. Gandhi. Your phone tap featuring
Straighten Aid and producer Sam coming up right after this.
Oh my god, I'm getting my on the radio now. Okay, sorry,
I'm checking out. That's the guys Duran in the morning show. Hey,
(01:55:08):
it's scary Jones And when it comes to home, an
auto insurance state farm is the real deal? Vile acclaim
or pay your bill with the award winning State Farm
Mobile app, or contact any of their nineteen thousand local
agents who are ready to help like a good neighbor.
State Farmers, Elvis, Elvis durand the Elvis Durand phone taps.

I Producer Sam is here. Hi. So you're obviously a
part of the tag team. So it's you and Nate
Straight Nate. We have to we have to do your
phone tall Oh, I know it's Sam's got it. She's
got she know you're a part of it. You come
on term responsibility for your mess. Okay, all right, So
producer Sam and Nate, do you want to tell us
a little about your phone tap? Sure? So Amy wanted
(01:55:52):
us to phone tap her husband Dave. Dave runs his
own construction company and recently saw an ad for a
dozer for sale. He called up the color left a message,
and Amy thought it would be great if we called
as the seller of said dozer. What's a dozers? Okay, hey,
it's some construction equipment of talk. All right, here we go.

up from me pretty immediately. Um, do you know how
many hours are on the engine? You know what? Hold
on one second, hey, Bobby? What how many hours you
put on that tractory yours out back? About twelve hundred
We take it to touch every Sunday. You should know
that by now. How do you want to know that?
Don't worry about don't worry about it. So it's about
(01:56:56):
twelve hundred hours total there. Yeah, well he's on phone.
Um do you know if there's any other damage? That's
the that's fully enclosed cab right, Oh yes, fully closed.
Hold on though, let me just make sure everything's all
tiptop shape in there. Hey, Bobby, what I'm watching TV?
Who are you on the phone with? Donor? Hey? Who's
(01:57:20):

have no friend, Dave? What do you want the phone for?
I'm calling about the ad that you have first selling
to John der bulldozer. There we selling mod Bobby Lee.
It has definitely time to let go with this guy.
I've been telling you, you hush. Your isn't actually for sale. Yes,
(01:57:41):
it's not for sale. It is not for sale. I'm
getting mattered in a wet hand right now. This thing
is not for sale. Story on me. You definitely want this,
I promise I won't get you this dope. You sound
like you're using it for its intended person anymore. Are
you actually dozing stuff or you just kind of sounds
like you're driving it around town a little bit? What
do you know about driving a tract? What is your name? Game?
(01:58:04):
Get him upset? Where my name is? Dave? I run
a construction company. We're branching out into pain. Maybe it
was just your wife. I guess that might have placed
this ad, But you know said selling to John, and
my wife is pretty as a peach. But I swear
to god, she just does not have a good head
on her shoulders. We are not selling. Why is he
laughing so much? Dave? I'm gonna get you to this
(01:58:24):
by the end of the week. He always ends up
listening to me. This isn't funny. Maybe I need to
let you guys kind of settle this and called I'm
gonna show you how much I use that hang on
one sick, don't you dare that day? Are you running
the doucher now? Yeah, you're gonna have to figure this
(01:58:44):
out between yourself, Dave. Nothing runs like a deer. Yeah,
I can hear it running. It sounds fine. I'm taking
it where this woman can get her hands on, y'all.
I'm gonna have to hang up. Don't you leave me anyway, ma'am.
You're gonna have to settle this between you two, I think.
And then uh yeah, oh, dag named I just hit
(01:59:11):
Amy's fans. Amy, are you there with us? Hi? Wait mine, Dave,
This is Sam and Nate from Elvis Durand in the
Morning Show. And your wife just phone tapped you Rich,
I listen to you, doll. This phone tap was prerecorded
(01:59:31):
we permission granted by all Party Space see Elvie's durand
phone tab were on Elvis Durand in the Morning show.
Oh this is obnoxious, Elvis Durrand in the Morning Show.
I'm gonna go I'm gonna go ahead and give you
a warning now, do not listen to today's fifteen minute
Morning Show podcast. Listen and will be videos the worst Danielle. Know,
(01:59:57):
it's the worst fifteen minute morning show podcast we've ever done.
It was personally enjoyable for all of us, so it
wasn't total loss. And I think once people see the
video it might be a little bit better, but it
was something. Yeah, this is the first time we had
to force a video of the fifteen minute morning show
podcast so you could actually see what the hell was
(02:00:18):
going on, because it's you really have to see it.
It's bad. There's nothing entertaining about it. It's just fifteen
minutes of us just being bad that I think it's brilliant,
every moment of it. Okay, I'll tell you what. I'll
challenge you to see if you can get through the
fifteen minutes. If you can, there's got to be some
prize at the end of the of that torture. Danielle.
(02:00:41):
One more, Danielle Report of the Day again. Warning, do
not listen to the fifteen minute morning show podcast or
watch the video. Boy, Now, where will they find the
video to that? Where will that be? It'll be on
Elvis Duran's show later on today. Elvis Perfect. All right, Danielle,
what you go all right, all right, boy. Joe Exotic
says that the prison he is in is shutting him
(02:01:03):
off from the outside world, but officials are saying, uh, guy,
it's nothing personal. The whole fact, the whole facility was
on pause because of everything going on outside, riots, protests.
We have to make sure that the inmates here have
limited access to things right now and that they stay safe.
So that's what's been going on. But of course Joe
is taking him personally, and he thinks that everybody is
(02:01:25):
against him. But he wants to thank the fans. He
knows that he has so many fans out there, and
he just he really, you know, he just wants to
make sure all his fans know how much he loves them.
Comicbook dot Com says that there is a rumor going
around that Matt Reeves will be bringing in a new
actor to play the Joker in the Batman trilogy, So
as more info comes out about that, we'll give it
(02:01:48):
to you. There was a fund of over three million
dollars went in was to help struggling musicians. It was
actually in England and it took five days. Throughout thirty
five hundred artists applied and it was basically depleted. That's
how many people need help right now because of coronavirus,
that how many people are out of work, and how
(02:02:10):
much money people they just don't have is it's absolutely crazy.
Lollapaloos in Chicago. They were really really hoping that maybe
it didn't have to be canceled this year, but unfortunately
it does. So they're looking to next year, the thirtieth
anniversary in twenty twenty one. This year, they are going
to just give you a little bit of a live
stream and then they're going to give you some performances
(02:02:31):
from last year and stuff like that. So that's what
they're gonna give you, and we're going to just have
to be happy with that. And that's my Danielle Report.
Thank you, Danielle. We're back with a final goodbye after this.
