Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Fantasy Football Weekly, a production of I Heart Radio.
Time now for Fantasy Football Weekly from I Heart Radio,
your weekly source for the nation's best fantasy football advice, speculation,
and whatever stupid stuff they decided to drop into the show.
Now here's your host. Hey, everybody, back to Fantasy Football Weekly.

(00:24):
I'm Paul charge In. Thank you for tuning in. My
co host today, Brian Johnson, Which means we've had three
different co hosts at three different weeks. It's good to
know those other guys are still on the show. Yeah,
I know, it's good to have them back. Uh. Scott
Fish is on a tropical vacation right now. I think
Matt's on vacation too. Glad to have you here. We
continue to look at each NFL roster. We did this

(00:45):
before free agency. We went basically through every NFL roster
and talked about the fantasy relevant guys, reflections on last year,
the one thing you really need to know about each
person going forward, and um and now we had a
lot of new data points. Now we you know, we
like then before free agency. Now we have a pretty

(01:06):
good sense of the returning veterans on all these teams.
The crazy offseason moves have pretty much died down at
this point. Did not expect a head coaching change. We'll
touch on that because we are breaking down the NFC
South today. That's going to be the Saints, the Panthers,

(01:26):
the Falcons, the Bucks, and um, this is honestly not
the most exciting division of all time for the phsy standpoint.
And but there's some especially your teams. You got the
good teams, I got the bad teams. But let me
mention this as well before we dive into and I
think we're gonna start with Atlanta. Before we dive into Atlanta,
and what is sure to be about seventy seven minutes

(01:49):
of just breaking down the tight end position. Um, the
first offseason episode of the Chop podcast probably available for
you right now. It's almost up in time. You know,
Chopping season is coming along as well. The Guillotine League
is uh, the guillotine blade is getting sharpened. Yeah, maybe
he's just a fresh one. Put on the whole new one.

(02:10):
Why not get it? Get a two blade for the
Guillotine League. Gotta do a lot of shopping so that
thing gets dull over time. Yeah, once the actual NFL
draft happens, it's pretty much time to start drafting some
Guillotine League teams. Shortly thereafter that, it's gonna be a
lot of fun. Um. You'll get to hear some of
the winning tips from somebody who want at the highest
level of the Guillotine League. We now turned to the

(02:32):
Atlanta Falcons. Look, Atlanta Falcons. Yeah, this is a very
different team from the one that we had at this
time last year, which was a Matt Ryan to Calvin
Ridley led team. And and nobody's even talking about Cordelle
Patterson at the time. You know, now all of your
key components really have changed except for one player. Yeah,

(02:54):
we won't start with that. Really well, set you up
so beautiful, but he's your I got my notes in
different orders, some being a little lazy. I thought we'd
have to start a quarter dial Pits, Come on, man,
all right, we'll start with Kyle Pitts. Why not one
of three tight ends to top one thousand yards last season,
Travis Kelsey Mark Andrews. The other two pits Pits average

(03:15):
more than fifteen yards per reception, which is very impressive. Uh,
Kelsey and Andrews were both under thirteen yards per catch,
still very good. But that's a significant delta considering Pitt's
head twenty four less catches than Kelsey, thirty nine less
than Andrews. So if he gets up closer to that
nine d catch mark order Kelsey Andrews at we're talking

(03:37):
serious numbers or Pits, well, we're already. We're already talking
about serious startage for Pitts and the thousand yards season
for rookie tight ends. That is really a remarkable milestone achievement.
It was powered by Calvin Ridley not being on the
team and then looking for anybody who can catch a path. Yeah,
you could argue it might have hurt him more though

(03:58):
to not have Ridley on the field to take some
friends off Pits, who had thirty three contested catches last year,
the first among all tight ends. So he needs some help,
that's for sure. And uh, he'll have a new quarterback,
um throw him in the ball. That's Marcus Mariotta who
had success with Delaney Walker if you recall or Delaney
Walker had success with Marcus Mariota in sixteen. So Pits

(04:24):
should surpasses one touchdown reception from last year that was
that was one. Hell, he may hit that in Week
one and we don't know the schedule yet, but nobody
would be surprised. So just drilling down on pits for
a minute, I've seen some people taking a stance to
have him as tight end one. And when you do that,

(04:44):
you're basically saying, I'm expecting that age finally catches up
to Travis Kelsey and I think Mark Andrews can't find
the end zone as consistently as he did, and you'd
have to have, you know, a number of things that
have to break his way. Yeah, Andrew's a lot of
competition with if Marcy's Brown is healthy, Richot eight Man
coming on. J K. Dobbins would expecting him to be healthy.
So yeah, you can make the case for Kyle Hits

(05:06):
be tight end one. He's he's not getting drafted there
just yet. He's still going after Kelsey and Andrews. But uh,
I wouldn't argue if you took him before. But you'd
be kind of reaching for him if you trapped him
before Kelsey and Andrews. But let's talk about his new quarterback,
Marcus Mariotta. Last time he was a starter was in
eighteen with the Titans. His peak year is in sixteen.

(05:26):
His second year in the season in the league through
for twenty six touchdowns that year. He regressed heavily after that.
The Titans essentially gave up on him. Uh. Mariotta was
serving with the Raiders back up for the last three years,
so I think he deserves another shot as a starter, though,
don't you interesting fit? And he didn't have the best
weapons as a Titan. We talked to Laney Walker then.

(05:47):
His best wide receivers were Richard Matthews, remember him, Rechard Matthews,
dorieal Green Beckham Wow was wide receiver. So I'm excited
to see what Mariota does in this offense. I still
a threat on the ground, of course, But speaking of
the wide receivers in Atlanta, they're not much better than
they were back in Tennessee. And really there's only one

(06:08):
worth talking about at this at this time, and that's Audentate,
the newly signed audent Tate to coming over from the Bengals.
I know there's a lot of people that have been
in love with his athleticism and his testing profile and
everything else, but dudes never shown on the field he
really had when when he's gotten chances, he has shown flashes.
He does have great size six five to thirty, but
he's always been buried on Cincinnati's depth chart, whether it

(06:31):
was behind A. J. Green, Tyler Boyd, and then of
course Jamar Chase Higgins came along. He just never really
had a chance to play a ton. Uh, he was
injured as well. But right now he's the wide receiver
one over Olamida Zakias and Cadaryl Hodge. I would think, um,
I would also think that Atlanta will a wide receiver

(06:53):
or two, but as of right now, Audentate is a
wide receiver one and a guy I'll target. And uh,
you know, I'm the best ball junk you've been drafting already,
and I started to target in the later rounds of
drafts because why not. He's the top wide receiver at
the moment um. Who is not a wide receiver Once
was Cordarold Patterson. We're gonna call him RB one for
the Falcons, arguably Fantasy Football's m v P for the

(07:14):
first half of the season last year. Uh, you could
argue Derrick Henry was well, he was, but Patterson was
virtually free. So if you're gonna bake in a or
grabbing him for free off the waiver wire. Uh. Definitely
an m v P fell off towards UH in the
second half of the season, but um badly we should
mention Yeah, if my December he was not startable and

(07:36):
not even rosterable. And it should be interesting now though
with UH with Patterson in the backfield, with Mariota, who's
basically like the polar opposite of the quarterback Matt Ryan
Is that's kind of a dynamic quarterback running back duoh,
so UH Patterson will certainly be drafted in a viable
starter UH low tier RB two, I would think, because
I'm not too concerned with Mike Davis. Well, no, not

(07:59):
not even the slight is UH. It'll be fascinating to
see how much they let Mariota run in this offense.
Arthur Blank doesn't have a history of doing that at all,
but that you know. But we now know this is
a different NFL that when it comes to rushing quarterbacks
and team's willingness to go expose their their quarterback with
designed runs is much higher now than it ever has been.
And Mariota might be more of a dual threat than

(08:21):
he ever was before and that could ultimately eat into
Cordarrelle Patterson's utility. Yeah, and briefly mentioned Mike Davis. We're
not gonna go too deep into him. The Falcons did
also signed Damien Williams or from Kansas City, but not
I think Williams will be the backup. I do too,
But I also think Atlanta does draft and impact rookie
running back as well. I know they like um Samir

(08:41):
White a lot. He's had some visits. He's a Georgia,
Georgia guy, so I do think they will spend some
draft capital on impact rookie running back. For now, Patterson
is the guy. And uh that's it for the Atlanta Falcons.
All right, Let's go over to the New Orleans Saints.
New head coach Dennis Allen. Familiar face Pete Carmichael remains
the offensive coordinator position he's held for thirteen years, so

(09:03):
not expecting a massive amount of schematic change to the
Saints this year. Let's talk about the starting quarterback Jameis
Winston as a consolation prize starter really for the Saints.
It's all he is. He returns after the a c
L surgery. Fortunately he was not a guy who relied
on his legs anyway. In the six fold games he
played last year. He scored touchdowns in all six, but

(09:24):
in reality, he had two monster games and four lackluster games. Brian,
he had that game one against the Packers where they
destroyed the touchdown pass. Five touchdown passes in that game,
and I think four were in the first half, if
I recall as well. Um, And I think if there's
one thing to know about Winston's first season with the
Saints is that he only threw three interceptions. And I

(09:46):
had figured it was because the Saints had asked him
to play more conservatively and do more dink and dunk stuff.
But then I looked up the stats and it wasn't.
It was not that it was not actually accurate. Next
yen ats have His average intended air yards was the
fourth longest in the NFL through those six starts. So
he was still something of the downfield pastor that we

(10:08):
had seen with Tampa bay Um. And so maybe that's
a sign that Winston's you know, matured a little bit,
might have had a much better overall season had it
not gotten cut short through six games. Maybe he would have,
you know, stabilized that position, got a little more comfortable
with the Saints offense. Things could have gone better this year.
He needs to overcome the A c L to some
degree anyway as well, and also overcome Andy Dalton. Yeah,

(10:33):
it's very possible. Don't find his way into the field
at some point, you know, Winston's not good enough or
gets hurt or whatever. Winston's gonna be a low tier.
He'll be I don't think he'll get drafted in most
leagues or might be your second or third quarterback. And
that's going to be about it. Michael Thomas is a
fascinating player who I'm already seeing some people mark as
high as the third round. I'm seeing him go as

(10:54):
late as the fifth, sixth, seventh round. And I can't
blame anybody who's just like, I'm not participating in Michael
lamas anymore. But as a reminder, he was the NFL's
Offensive Player of the Year in then he played hurt
for seven lackluster games were he was he was the

(11:16):
first overall pick in right because he was safest play
right and but then the then the ankle injury started
and it's just been nothing but trouble for him since then,
him and the team with all the bad blood and
everything's been bad I'm surprised he's back with the team,
but it appears he's gonna play. Um. I worry about
two straight years of ankle problems, Brian on a player

(11:38):
who was already on the slower side. Can he still
separate for Michael Thomas? And that's that's my concern. And
even going into last year, we talked about him as
a bad fit for Jamis Winston's yolo downfield passing. That's
never been Michael Thomas's game. He was always about moving
chains eight yards at a time at a time, him

(12:00):
quick slants, the big body Um and Drew Brees throwing
the precision passes to him. Man, I don't know that
this is a good fit for him, and I'm nervous
about Michael Thomas. I'm with you. The only other receiver
I want to mention is Trey Kwon Smith, who resigned
with the team, although it's unclear why the team would
want him aside from his once a month long bomb
reception that he had. I thought he was gonna have

(12:21):
been in Atlanta. I thought that would have been a
great signing, that would have been a better fit. I
agree Taysom Hill is now a tight end and He's
probably your leading tight end for the Saints. They've got
Adam Troutman coming off a lost season with on I
r um. I don't know. Maybe he's maybe you can
play the position. I don't think he can. And he
can't block me. At the end of the day, Taysom
Hill can't be a blocker, so I don't know how

(12:42):
much of a tight end he'd be. A stand up
slot tight end is all he could be. Um, I'm
done with Taysom Hill. I'm done with every part of
Taysom Hill, passer, runner, catcher. I want no part of
him and I'll never draft him. He's already causing headaches
for you know, contest operators who had him as a quarterback,
and some people were throwing darts thinking he could still
be at the quarterback and and then now he's a
tight end and I have to make that change already,

(13:02):
and some people are pissed off. Yeah, he's been a
pain in the a for quite some time. Let's wrap
up the Saints by talking about the running back position.
Alvin Camerica had a massive uptick and carries and touches
last year, but he actually went down in rushing yards.
Rushing touchdowns, receptions and receiving yards, even with all the
extra work and all the attention. And it's because they
went from Drew Brees to Trevor Simeon and Jamis Winston

(13:25):
and Taysom Hill, and so that he wasn't getting quality
targets in the passing game. Teams are stacking the run
to stop Kimara because if you stopped Camara, you stopped
the Saints. That's probably the same situation this year. Unfortunately.
Now speaking of off the field matters, what is your God,

(13:45):
he's got to miss some time due to suspension. When
you think you can't die dive too deep into it
because anything, but yeah, there was concerned. I mean, you
see him getting drafted. He's was before the Pro Bowl,
the Pro Bowl incident. He is a right late first,
early second, even mid first kind of guy. But now
I've seen him falling into the third round because just

(14:06):
of the concern that he misses time. You just suspect
you could absolutely happen. I would not be I mean,
he he he beat the daylights out of out of
some guy and that's you know, that could cost him
to three games. I would not be surprised. Uh, Mark
Ingram still there. He's still under contract for the season.
Had a modest role with the Saints last year, average
ten touches per game, forty two yards per game, but

(14:27):
only three point eight yards per carry, and frankly didn't
look very effective. And the offensive line is worse, not
worse now with Armstead gone. So this is a this
is I think Mark mark Ingram is at best just
a handcuffed player for the Saints. Saints might be the
as of right now, like the grossest fantasy team in
all of football. I think Kimara saves that. But but

(14:49):
if he's but if he's, but just the concern that
he misses time being that. And we'll take a break.
When we came back, we'll talk about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tom Brady's back. Had every done the Buccaneers a month
ago when we were breaking down some of the other teams, Brian,
we've been talking about we don't know the quarterbacks is
gonna be all kinds of problems. But now like the

(15:09):
whole gang's back, so we'll talk about that and the
Carolina Panthers. You want to talk about another team in
colletition for worst fantasy offense, it'll it'll be that one.
Stay tuned back in Moments Segment number two Fantasy Football Weekly,

(15:38):
Paul Giarchi and Brian Johnson with you Guillotine Leagues dot Com.
Guillotine Leagues will go live sometime in May. I don't
have an exact date for you. We still got got
an exciting new project we're working on with Guillotine League's
gotta gotta work that through the system. And not quite
positive here in very early April when the exact date yet,
but the month of May is a safe assumption. Let's

(16:00):
talk about Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What are what are the
things people need to know from last season and looking
forward to this season? And where do you want to
start time Brady, Well, we alluded it, alluded to it
in the intro. We should talk about the head coaching
change real quick. The Bowels movement movement. Uh, he's more
of a defensive guy, defensive minded coach, Bruce arians offensive guy. Uh.

(16:21):
There's been rumblings, you know that that the Bucks are
gonna run more now that Bowles is a new head coach.
But we'll get to Leo four Net in a second.
We gotta start with Tom Brady who as of this recording,
he has not retired, re retired, re retired, he re retired. Uh,
but you know he will be the starting quarterback as
far as far as we know. Brady had plus passing

(16:44):
yards and forty three touchdowns last year, both led the league.
He also added two of those dirty goal line touchdowns
on the ground, which he always finds a way to do. Um. So,
I mean, right now, he's right back into top ten
quarterback range in terms of where he's getting drafted, and
you'll see him go as early as his top five
and I don't see that changing as we progress into

(17:07):
the spring. In summer and later summer months, Tampa did
lose guard Ali Markett to retirement. Uh he who says
he will stay retired even after Brady announced his return.
But I'm sure, um, the Bucks will address the O
line in the draft. So Tom Brady, what can you say?
He's Tom Brady. I mean, there's a chance he just

(17:27):
totally falls off a cliff. Maybe you think this might
be the year. I don't know. I'm not gonna remember
people downgrading Tom Brady's you know, six seven years ago
saying yeah, including me, you know, there was a stretcher
and I thought he was done. I'm not gonna be
the one to do it, especially when you look at
the weapons he has started with. Mike Evans second in
touchdowns among wide receivers last season with fourteen. Also topped

(17:48):
the thousand yards for the eighth straight season, which is
all of his seasons as professional football player. Pretty pretty impressive.
He turns twenty nine in August, so it might be
a good time to sell him in dynasty, especially with
Brady probably playing his last year. But I have no
concerns for Evans and Redraft or best Ball currently getting
drafted his wide receiver third team, but that a DP

(18:09):
has been surging, I'm sure an So you can make
a case for end of first round for Mike Evans
just based on every year. You're you're looking at a
lot of touchdowns, the you know, the thousand yards he's
been you know, buying the large really really safe fantasy producer.
You gotta put up with a lot of questionable designations
going into Sunday. Dude usually plays and and for those

(18:32):
who play a non PPR, you can make the case
that Mike Evans is the wide receiver one just based
on the touchdowns. Um but anyway, uh to his running
mate Chris Godwin, who despite missing the last three games
of the regular season, was top ten and catches among
wide received wide receivers with nine eight also finished as
one of four wide receivers with over eleven dred yards.

(18:53):
He was well on his way to a top ten
season before the injury. The only concern really is he's
gonna be ready to start the season. He's or even
if you start and not and not perform at a
high level. Slow receivers especially, you've got, you know, the
big route tree, You've got the hard cuts through the
middle of the field on the slant pattern stuff Like.
I just, man, I'm really really nervous about players coming

(19:18):
off of December. A c L. S. You weren't on
the podcast last week, but we talked about it last
week December a c L. Guys, there are not people
I'd like to put a lot of draft equity into. Yeah,
he's certainly come into a discount right now. He's kind
of around wide receiver twenty four, and he'll probably kind
of stay that way as a summer progressist. But I mean,
if if you're willing to wait on him a month
or two. He could pay off big time and you

(19:39):
could have that. I'm not willing to wait, you know, fundamentally,
and you know I've talked about this many times over
the years. I want to start my first month of
games three and one, four and oh, I want to
have I want to sort of like own the playing
field at three and one on four. No, you've got
trade equity on your team. You can start thinking long
term already. You've got you know, you have so many

(20:01):
you have so many advantages over people who start owing
four and one and three and are desperate and have
to you. You've gotta make You've got to make short
term moves at that point, especially in guillotine leagues, you
don't so much danger. Maybe in like round ten, I
would think about it. Stash him away, But that's in
an eighteen team draft too. But the wide receiver has

(20:22):
been drawn a ton of attention now. Newly acquired Russell
Gauge from the four mentioned Atlanta Falcons essentially a kill
shot to Tyler Johnson's not that I just hates he
hates Tyler Johnson really does. Last year for Gauge overall,
not a great season with the Falcons, but he did
finish strong down the stretch with a touchdown or one
yards and four of his last seven games. Um, I'm

(20:45):
not gonna rag on Matt Ryan too much, but this
is certainly an upgraded quarterback and just overall offense. So
I'm excited to see what Russell Gauge can do here.
And you gotta love the to guaranteed revenge games against
Atlanta the season as well. I know you love it.
Gauge a guy who is going like last rounds and
twenty round Bestball Draft. Now he's jumped up into makes sense, right,

(21:08):
I mean, to some degree, there's always that guy that
if you just you just have to start in a
bye week or an injury situation where you're like, just
give me five catches for sixty yards and I you know,
I'll be happy, and Russell Gauge will be there. And
assuming Godwin is not ready to start the season, I mean,
you're just looking at Russell Gauge as a pretty much
Antonio Brown. He's not quite the player Antonio Brown was

(21:29):
at his peak or even. And I also worry the
Gauge runs so much from the slot, and obviously that's
where Godwin runs, and that is that going to is
Are they gonna kick Gauge outside and ask him to
run more outside? That worries me a little bit too. Um,
are you worried that Gronk has not signed the Bucks yet? Yeah?
He will. Yeah, you know what he's I You know,
if you're Gronk, what's the rush, right, I wouldn't be

(21:53):
surprised if Gronk. Gronk doesn't show up till the middle
of preseason. He's you know, so he doesn't have to
go through training camp technically. Anything that he does right now,
let's just say hypothetically he goes out and, uh does something,
you know. I don't want to say something criminal, Okay,
but let's say, Um, he's photographed legally in the state

(22:18):
of Nevada with twenty eight prostitutes. As he's not an
NFL player right now, he's not under contract, right, I mean,
these are all things that, you know, don't necessarily affect
him and or his standing with the Shield, so he
can kind of do what he wants right now. I
would take the over Oncess in Vegas, but finished his

(22:40):
tight end seven in PPR last season, display playing just
twelve games. He does turn thirty three in May, but
I think there's enough gas in the tank for one
last run with his boy Tom Brady. So yeah, yeah,
he doesn't miss time to do the injury. If he didn't,
he could have he could have finished top three, maybe
even top tight end one. I know Drew's head a

(23:00):
monster year, but Gronka very well could have as well.
And the last guy will talk about is Leonard four
net Um surging. Leonard and Ronald Jones got got you know,
they didn't when they didn't resigned Ronald Jones now with
the chiefs suddenly people are talking about Leonard four at
the first round. Well, it was quite the timeline because
at first Brady wasn't coming back in four. Net was

(23:22):
gonna go somewhere else. Everyone was assuming and he was
going like RB RB thirty. Brady resigns, every gets a
little more excited. He bumps up, and now Ronald Jones
is gone for net Now is his a DP is
RB seventeen. But I've seen him go second round some drafts,
some stile the fourth. This is the guy who I
think will be going first round by July August, lay first,

(23:46):
early second, maybe finish as RB five in PPR last year,
played only fourteen games true Bell Cow when he's healthy.
Only four running backs saw seventy five plus targets one
Naji Harris, Austin Ekeler, DeAndre Swift and Leonard four Nette.
I mean we're looking at three down work. I'm not
too worried about Shawn Vaughan. No, I'm not at all.

(24:08):
Maybe Tampa Bay drafts are running back, but they're not
gonna be drafting Briest Hall or that's probably true. They might.
They should be drafting quarterback unless Kyle Trask is a
lot better than we know. They should be trying to
figure out that quarterback position for the future because they
had a brief, frightening look at a life with no
quarterback and no team wants to be there. Maybe not

(24:28):
first round. I mean some people will take him. I won't,
but I mean he's going to move from RB seventeen
to at least it's the top twelve running backs, probably
top on top ten, top eight PPR for sure. That's
it for Tampa Carolina Panthers. Now don't just turn off
the podcast. There's a couple of exciting players on the Panthers,

(24:51):
one of them going in the first round. Christian McCaffrey
being mocked and not mocked because he's going average raft
position right now. It's late first Uh, he was a
gay team like assassin the last two years, putting thousands
of heads on the chopping block. Two years ago, in
the three games that he played in, he was great.
And then last year. Do you remember how any games

(25:11):
he played last year? Six? Nice job? It was seven.
I thought it was lass in my mind, it felt
like it was another three four game season, but he
played in seven. The problem was simply didn't score. And
his yardage numbers are way down. Not way down, they
were down. Next Gen stats get this. Next Gen stats
had Christian McCaffrey with negative rushing yards over expectation. No

(25:39):
that what did we ever say that about him? It
was a it was a very down season for him,
and it wasn't all because he was playing injured. Troubling
lye he only had the one rushing touchdown in the
one receiving touchdown in the seven games. Currently seeing the
late first round ADP, are you buying on the dip
here for Christian McCaffrey, the player who has been back
to back seasons, he was the number one player taken. Yeah,

(26:02):
we uh kind of poo pood McCaffrey a month or
two ago, saying we did a way too early round one.
We didn't put him in the we didn't put him
in and I put him back inside that. But really,
just in best ball, I have bought in he's going
right after Taylor when when it comes to running back
to Jonathan Taylor. But best ball is different. You're just yeah,

(26:22):
pie in this guy. You got a bunch of you
have to in standard leagues, I won't go out of
my way. But if he falls far enough into the
late first round in a non super flex league, I
might take a stab and just hope he he stays
healthy because I don't want to your long. You could
get a nice handcuff and what appears to be downtay

(26:43):
for him and now later and that would be a
must draft for me if I if I put the
risk on you know what, I don't love that I
got that I'm gonna when I draft Christian McCaffrey or
any injury prone running back in the first round. That
he also cost me an eighth round pick nine. You
want the guy that's gonna be there there. Yeah, that's
how I don't like that, and the other problem I've
got with McCaffrey is just the rest of this offense

(27:05):
is so bad. There's gonna be games where they just
don't score points. And I think McCaffrey is potentially sitting
on another tricky touchdown season. They will should likely spend
most of their draft capital on offense and hopefully offensive line,
which would be a big help. But as it stands today,
pre draft Christian McAffrey. For me, I'm not drafted in

(27:26):
the first round. Let's go to the quarterback position. Sam
Donald current your current starting quarterback. Although most expect to
have some competition with a Day one or Day two
pick in the draft, many people think, uh, Panthers hold
I believe pick six of the NFL draft, and maybe
people believe that they will take a quarterback with that selection. Um,
and I would not be surprised if that's that's the case.

(27:48):
You may. I don't blame any listeners forgotten Sam donald season.
He started eight games, then he went on I Are
and then he came back, but was in a timeshare
with Cam Newton. What you probably don't remember p J
Walker and p J Walker who's still there? Um, Cam
Newton's a free agent. Through the first four games of

(28:08):
the season, Sam Donald was first month of the season
month fantasy quarterback three. It was all rushing though it
was it was correct. He had five rushing touchdowns in
the first four games, but he also had three three
hundred yard passing games. He looked like a at the time.

(28:30):
I remember it that after that first month, going, you
know what, the Jets screwed this up. The Jets could
have kept Sam Sam Donald, and you know, they may
have made a mistake here. But as it turned out,
Donald ultimately looked pretty darn wobbly, and you know, he's
basically gotten a vote from no confidence for the Panthers,
who chased other free agent quarterbacks weren't able to land

(28:50):
one um his receiving options, d J. Moore inexplicably decided
to resign a new long term contract with the team.
All about the Benjamin's It's the only reads, only possible reason.
He's had three straight years with almost twelve hundred yards.
But but d J. Moore has always got the same problem.

(29:12):
Brian four touchdowns, four touchdowns and four touchdowns. That's that's
his three seasons. Three of his four touchdowns last year
came in the first four games of the year when
Sam Donald was having these three yard games, d J
Moore got paid early, and then after the first month
of the season he scored one more time, and that's
an ongoing problem for him. Um and you can't figure

(29:37):
the prospects look any better for DJ Moore this year
because it's either Sam Donald throwing him the ball or
they're bringing in a rookie. He's got to learn on
the job. So I can't get I can't muster a
lot of enthusiasm for d J Moore, a very good
receiver in a pretty bad spot. Use all those talking
points in your Dinace league to try and acquire him, though,
because he's still incredibly young. I think he's under twenty

(29:58):
five years old, and things can go right. The quarterback
posian can only get better one way. He's got he's
got all the tools, but just not You're gonna have
to wait. Yeah, Robbie Anderson had a really borderline disastrous season.
To me, he's the worst kind of fantasy gamble. If
you didn't peg one of his five out of seventeen
games in which he scored a touchdown. Here were the

(30:21):
other twelve games he averaged two catches for twenty three
yards indo touchdowns because I'm only time about the games.
He didn't score these non scoring games. Two catches twenty
three yards and that's how you lose your week, which
would have happened twelve times. Um. Get this. Against the Vikings,
he managed an eleven target game for eleven yards. Think

(30:43):
about how hard it is to do that. Borderline impossible.
Borderline impossible. Robby Anderson another guy not my not the
kind of guy like Terrence Marshall. Maybe gets better and
you're two. They brought in Richard Higgins. Brandon Zilster returns
as well, but this offense does not have the firepower
to support third receivers. Terence Marshall was a game day
and active You so far from being relevant last year. Well,

(31:06):
we'll see if he's able to crack the starting lineup
on a on a recurring basis here, hopefully better in
year two. What they got going for him in Carolina
from a fantasy perspective is lots of garbage time. Baby,
they'll be We'll be playing from the last year a
lot too. Although their defense was good enough to keep
them in a lot of games. Yeah, the defense wasn't bad.
He kind of fell off towards the end of the year,

(31:26):
but it was carrying the team. Uh, no tight end
on Carolina Worth mentioning Yeah, I means you think Tommy
Tremble is going to break out in year two. But
should have kept Dan Arnold. They should have kept Dan Arnold.
Who would ever give up on Dan? Oh? Wait, that's
every team he's ever stop It given up on Dan
and the Jaguars brought in another tight end. Who'd they

(31:47):
bring in? Evan Ingram? Yeah? Evan Ingram? Why would they
do that? You know where Dan Arnold could end up?
The Minnesota Vikings. What makes you say that? I don't know.
Don't they need to backup tight end and they back up,
but he's no backup and means to be a starter.
Well they they think or Smith is going to be good. Yeah,
I do too. I mean, but you gotta have a backup.
And uh, I don't know. I know they owe them

(32:10):
three and a half million. They trade them or if
they cut up, I think they're gonna end up trading them.
We're now we're hopping back into the a f C. Seuth.
People'll talk about Dan Arnold a whole lot more. Oh,
can't wait. That'll be I think we're doing that team
next week, our that division next week, AFC South. I
think we haven't done AFC South. Happly, I don't want
to go back and check. There's been so much free

(32:31):
agent free Thank you for listening and making it all
