Ellen Elam is a Komen Houston Board member and Khambrel Marshall is a member of the KPRC2 Severe Weather Team. They are also this year’s race co-chairs. The 2019 Komen Houston Race for the Cure against breast cancer is on Saturday, October 5 and 75% of funds raised will stay in the Greater Houston area to fund breast health screenings and support groups for people going through treatment. The rest is sent to Komen's national office to fund research all over the US and since Houston is on the forefront of the subject, much of those grant dollars come back to Houston's medical community which is one of the best in the world.
