They were.

Speaker 2 (00:58):

to live up to because Jaws was so good. You
knew what you were doing when you went back into
the water, So why go back in there with the
Shark Get You. Yeah, I still watch you. I still
liked it. But if you really look at it.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
But I remember Jaws, I don't remember much from Jaws too,

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Wow, should be fascinating.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
One of the things I think we're learning see drinks
gallons of caffeine a day gallon.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I don't think I've never drink gallons of anything, and
I thought I was a coffee lover.

Speaker 3 (02:14):

pull the.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
We don't actually know because the Internet says you might
be a different age, So we had to go with
what we thought it.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Was, which would be forty five two one.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
According to the Internet.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Right, it's Jackie Robinson, honey, forty two.

Speaker 1 (03:08):

Speaker 3 (03:09):
I wanted to do this because if anyone out there

reach out for.

don't say lovely, don't say lovely, lovely.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
More. Mario Lopez coming up you all.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Mario Lopez took more than a year, but we finally
have learned the name of Rihanna's baby boy. You're ready,
Riza Affleston Mayors. Wow, I thought I was a big wuhead.
She is a serious Wu Tang flan named after Rizza
from the Wu Tang. I can't. Rizza is still very

(03:47):
much on the scene and they'll probably end up working together.
I'm sure he's honored. Yeah, he's gotta be honored. I
wonder how he saw Rocky feels about that. Appleston, by
the way, is asap Rocky's middle name, so they literally
named him alf a member of Wu Tang and it's
a prockey. You got second building with the middle name,
so wild. All right, more music now, Mario Lopez here

(04:08):
making sure every day is a holiday, and today we
are celebrating Chocolate Chip Day. Love me some chocolate chip.
It is one of my go to ice cream flavors
that I always get. I mean chocolate chip cookies. That's
that's always number one. But when I go to any
ice cream shop, it's always between chocolate chip, mint, chocolate chip,

(04:29):
or coffee ice cream, and I sample all three and
then I see which one I'm feeling. Darrek combine them.
I should get a triple scoop one day and see
if that changes anything. But there's too much. That's like
too much going on, right, it might be too much.
You don't want to over complicate the palate. Mario Lopez,
This gets your tweets. This is from Anna Menaduro.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
What is the funniest thing you bless? We bless our dogs,
our homes, and I saw my mom bless her garden.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Anna Menaduro is obviously Latina, And yes, my grandmother used
to bless. She used to bless us every time we
left the house, but she'd bless the dog. She'd bless
obviously herself, two hundred times a day. And it's funny
because I posted something where a lady took her chihuahua
to church the other day. I've never seen them take

(05:18):
the dogs actually to church. I didn't even know it
was allowed, but she did a little sign of the
cross on the and I just thought it was the
cutest little thing. I always feel better after a blessing.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Get us up on Twitter and on with Mario and
hang on more Mario Lopez on the.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Way, what a Mario Lopez here. Today's lesson in music
history is about the first hip hop album to go platinum.
I'm wanna share with you have a few more songs.
You're Mario Lopez and on this day in History thirty
seven years ago. In nineteen eighty six, Run DMC released
the album Raising Hell featuring This Walk This Way of

(06:07):
Course with run DMC, and they had a little cameo
by Steven Tyler from Aerosmith. And that was the first
hip hop song to reach the top five and the
first hip hop album to go platinum. So they really
are the pioneers as far as a group to break
through to the mainstream. And I've mentioned it before, but

(06:28):
that was my first concert run DMC with the Beastie
Boys Steals on Wheels. Nice, You're all Mario Lopez. Some
celebris are turning a year older today. I'm gonna try
to guess the ages.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Jamie Lynn Siegler from the Sopranos Meadow Sopranos coming in
at forty two.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Forty two is correct? Oh okay?

Speaker 3 (06:49):
The man who beat you on Dancing with the Stars,
Emitt Smith, EMMITTT.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Smith. I was coming in first every week the last
I'm not saying it was legitimate. I just needed a
couple super but him it's a great guy and super nice. Emmett.
I'm gonna say my guy is fifty seven, fifty four,
fifty four. I thought it was a lot older. He's
not that much older. Okay.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
And Chaz Paul Monterry Usual Suspects, Bronxtail, Sonny.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
All the Sonnies are cool. One of my favorite movies. Bronxtail.
He's awesome. The only movie Robert General directed, by the way,
I'm gonna say My guy's got to be seventy two,
seventy one. W Wow, that was pretty good today.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Wow, Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
What a Mario Courtney Lopez Here was some quick buzz
Charlie poof getting his own comedy series rok Who's giving
the green light to something called Charlie makes a Record.
They're calling it an unscripted comedy that shows Charlie trying
to balance stardom and regular life. That should be interesting. Okay,
more music, now, what Mario Lopez here. Today's guest is

(08:02):
celebrating his fortieth year in Showbizits actor Andrew McCarthy. He's
got a brad Pack documentary in the works. Body also
just wrote a book about walking across Spain with his
teenage son. Let's talk about we gonta get into it.
After a few more songs, Mario Lopez joading it now
on Zoom. Actor director, author Andrew McCarthy. Welcome to the

(08:22):
show Man. How you been good?

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Good, good to be with you.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Very nice to see you. I like the brick wall
behind you. I'm always fascinated when people are zooming from that.
Are you We're up against the wall here literally? Are
you at home? Is that an office?

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (08:36):
I'm at home.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Very cool. The brick wall chilling. I like it. Congrats
on new book work New York. It's a New York
thing exactly. It's a good I was just gonna say,
I love the look. Congratulations on the new book. Walking
with Sam. You walk five hundred miles across Spain with
your son. That sounds awesome. How old is your son
and what inspired this journey?

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Yeah, he was nineteen when we did it, and so
what inspired it was?

Speaker 5 (09:01):
You know, twenty five years ago I did the same journey,
walked along the Old Camino to Santiago, which is an
ancient pilgrimage route in the north of Spain, and it
was a real life changer. For me, and I wanted
as my son was getting out ready to go out
into the world, I wanted us to have a way to,
you know, to connect and resort of rewrite the rules
of our relationship and in a real way. And doing

(09:21):
this really helped us to do that, you know, helped
us to sort of see each other as differently than
we had up to that point.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Absolutely, I'm fascinated by this. I make a great movie.
Did you have to convince your son to join? Was
he reluctant?

Speaker 4 (09:36):
I was surprised how quickly he said yes.

Speaker 5 (09:38):
You know, he heard me talk about the Camino for
a lot of his life because it was such a
big experience to me when I did it the first time.
You know, I think I suffered from a bit of
what we now call imposter syndrome when I was young
and successful in the movies and all that, and walking
the Camino helped me to sort of take ownership of
my own life in a really strong and real way,
and it changed me, changed my place in the world,
and so I was I think my son was intrigued

(10:01):
by that, and so it was open to the idea.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
That's awesome. The book is Walking with Sam hold on,
Andrew got to take a break, but I'm gonna have
more with Andrew McCarthy coming up.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
More Fun on the Way On with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Mario Lopez hanging out on Zoom with Andrew McCarthy, who
walked across Spain for his new book Walking with Sam. So,
what about physically, how much of a toll did it
take on?

Speaker 4 (10:22):
You beat the crap out of me. But my son
was nineteen, and so he was.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
He had a tough time at the beginning for a
week or so, but then he walked himself into shape
and I'd say by the end he said, I'm ready
to walk across two more countries.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
Here.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Look at that. That's you know.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
When we were on the second day of the trip,
he said to me, Dad, what's the point of this walk?
And on the last day of the trip, he said
to me, Dad, that's the only ten out of ten
thing I've ever done in my life.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
That's awesome. That's right. I love this. I'm kind of inspired.
I got to figure out, uh, I got to figure out.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
You know, it requires nothing. All you need is real
this and the pair of good, you know, walking shoes.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
They have to give it a shot. All right, let's
play some more music. Mario Lopez got actor Andrew McCarthy
on Zoom with Me, who walked across Spain for his
new book Walking with Sam. But full disclosure though, Andrew,
I would be more concerned with getting lost. How did
you manage.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
The beauty of that? Here's the beauty of that.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
It's impossible to is it painted on the ground, on trees,
on rocks everywhere across the entire country.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
They're these little yellow arrows.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
So you literally just follow little yellow arrows across the
entire country. And there are also other pilgrims people walking
the root too, so you know, dude, is it right?

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Is it this way? And they're like yeah, yeah, that way.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Oh so they know. Okay, well then I'm good. That
would be my only concern. Oh that is so cool.
And you kicked off a book tour, right so you
gonna hitting the road.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
Yeah, I'm on the road going out into America to
talk talk Walking with Sam.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
That's awesome, man, that's awesome. Congratulations on that. You can
find those book tour dates at on with Mario dot com.
I'll be back with Andrew Karthy in just a moment.
What al Mario Lopez here. My guest today is actor
Andrew McCarthy, and I read your working on a documentary
about the Brat Pack.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Is that still happening or what's the status?

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (12:11):
Yeah, I mean a couple of years ago, I wrote
a book, a memoir about those days called Brat and
so I when I finished it, I kind of thought,
you know, okay, I now know what happened to me
in that time, what happened to everybody else?

Speaker 1 (12:23):
You know?

Speaker 5 (12:24):
And I know it is a seismic event in all
our lives. And I'd never talked to anybody about it.
So I hunted and went hunting everybody down and went
b a camera and chatted with people about it.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
And it was great.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
I hadn't seen you know, Rob Lower, Emilio or me
more Ali Shedian thirty odd years, so to go get.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Everybody's take on and everything was amazing.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
I realized we all realized we had so much more
affection for each other and for our youth than we
did at the time.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
You guys are great too, because I happened to have
spoken to all the people you just mentioned, and I
love that era and I can't wait to check it out.
Is there a release date or do you have a
platform yet?

Speaker 4 (12:57):
Were I'm just finishing.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
I'm just finishing. I'm editing it now and then not
hopefully by the end of the year.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
You're the full interview now on with Mario dot Com.
More Mario Lopez on the Way.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Mario Lopez A. Were rapping things up with today's guest
Andrew McCarthy. How many kids you have in total?

Speaker 4 (13:13):
Three feels like thirty.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
I two have three. What are their ages?

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Twenty one, sixteen, and nine?

Speaker 2 (13:19):
And are you doing the walk with all of them?
Because I got to imagine the other ones are.

Speaker 5 (13:22):
Like, hey, well, my sixteen year old daughter said, can
we just go to Paris? My nine year old picked
up the book as he was sitting around, and he
picked it up and he read about a page and
he said, this would have been a lot better if
it was about me, and it covers their attitude.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
That's awesome. That's awesome. Well again, congratulations on the book.
I look forward to the documentary and you can pick
up Walking with Sam wherever you get books. Andrew, thanks
for checking in. Hopefully we'll get to the talk when
the doc comes out.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Yeah, love too.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Thanks all right, take care Mario Lopez. Here was some
quick for you. Bob Odenkirk has picked up his next
gig after Better Call Saw. He's going to be joining
season two of The Bear on FX. That's the show
about the Chicago sandwich shop that acts like a high
end restaurant. No word yet on what his role will be.
Season one was the most watch half hour in FX history.

(14:17):
Look at that ol Mario Courtney Lopez. And my daughter
Jia think she's a real comedian. Remember the other night, honey,
when she just told me in the middle of dinner, DUBT,
I gotta tell you I'm the funniest person I know. Yeah,
I think I'm seriously hilarious. Everyone just says, always saying
how funny I am, And I make everyone laugh. And

(14:39):
you know what, our daughter doesn't lack confidence, seriously, no, seriously.
And do you know what she said right after that?
What good thing I take after?

Speaker 5 (14:46):
Mom?

Speaker 1 (14:50):
You did it?

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Yeah? Now you're just making stuff fun.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
What a Mario Lopez here. One of my favorite comics,
Sebastian Maniscalco. His show in Vegas is the funniest I've
seen it before. I want one of my listeners to
see him in person. So this week's sweepstakes is for
a trip for two to Vegas round trip, co Chairfair,
two nights at the Win, two tickets to Sebastian Show.
This is all sponsored by AEG Presents, so big thanks

Good luck, Mario Lopez. Here was a quick buzz for you.
The Fast and Furious franchise continues to honor the late
Paul Walker. His daughter Meadow is going to have a
cameo in Fast X. She was only one years old
when the original movie came out. Wow, it's kind of cool.
All right, more music now, yo, Mario Lopez. Time now

(15:40):
for one last thing succession. Fans can now own Kendall
Roy's penthouse from the show New York. Pennhouse has hit
the market. We're only twenty nine million dollars, so we
got all you got that laying around there.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
You go.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
You get fifty five hundred square feet in the upper
east side, five bedrooms, two living rooms, four bathrooms, a
private elevator in that spiral staircase. Twenty nine million for
only fifty five hundred square feet. That is unbelievable. No
yard either, No yard, good luck more.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Mario Lopez coming up all.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Right, tin to punch out, but the music continues all night.
