Speaker 1 (00:01):
Mario Lopez. Happy Wednesday and Happy International Women's Day. It's
Courtney Lopez and I am taking control of the show
today as Mario rides a shotgun lots of fun stuff
to get to you. Our friend, actress Donnie Ramirez is
going to zoom in later with the scoop on her

the music up. You are on with Mario and Courtney Lopez.
You are on with Mario and Courtney Lopez, and it's
time to honor some good deed in the world. Mario,
Who's being honored with our good deed at Lopezi this week? Courtney,
I'm gonna tell you. Sixth grader Lilly Whitlow in Florida.

(00:47):
Her school recently had a book fair, and she noticed
that some of the kids in the special needs classes
didn't get any books from the fair, so she decided
to take matters into her own hand. She took each
special needs student to the fair and let him pick
out a book. She paid for with money she makes
helping her grandmother out around the house. This is about
the sweetest story I think I've ever heard. God bless

(01:08):
Lily Whitlow. You know, kudos to her and her parents
for raising her to be so kind and aware of
what's going on around her. Celebrating International Women's Day. You're

hosted by Jennifer Nettles over on Fox. We have a
friend who owns a farm. He should be on that.
I was thinking of him. We also have MG three
seventy The Plane that Disappeared. It's a limited Netflix series
about the Malaysian plane that went missing without a trace

(01:52):
back in twenty fourteen. I remember that I want to
see this. This is very scary that there's no trace
of it, Like, how does just something disappear? Fascinating and
the challenge world Championships on MTV and Paramount, plus the
Challenge winners and MVPs from all over the world are
going to be paired with the Challenge Legends for a
chant at a half a million dollars. All right, good luck.

(02:13):

Women's Day today, so I have taken over the reins.

On with Mario is our Twitter handle, and if you

(02:57):
want to send something our way, please do All right, baby,
what did you find? This is from at Anna to Anna,
which that's a very cool name. She says, Happy Women's
Day to you, Courtney. I know how important your mom
and grandma were in shaping the woman you are. I
work hard to try to inspire my girls. She's curious
if there were things you do to inspire and encourage

(03:18):
your daughter m every day. I just try and be
positive with the things that I say to her, tell
her that she can accomplish anything, and that she's a badass.
B that's right, that's right. I think I concur solid
advice mom. Celebrating International Women's Day. This is On with

(03:40):

more the music rose on. You Are On with Mario
and Courtney Lopez and I've taken the reins from Mario
as we celebrate International Women's Day and get ready to
chat with not only a friend of ours, but an
awesome actress, devious Maid's Sweet Tooth Once upon a Time

(04:23):
and now starring in Fox's Alert. Back to get the
scoop on that and more with Danie Ramirez. Next. Hey, everyone,
you are on with Courtney Lopez and joining me now
on zoom from Fox's Alert our good friend Daniel Ramirez.
Welcome to the show, beautiful. How are you. I'm doing great.
Thank you for having me. It's so nice to see you.

(04:44):
Have to say, like, I hate that this is how
we have to see each other because we are both
so busy all the time. I know we text and
then we respawn like three weeks later, and then we
see each other on the zoom here, But I know
we have to get together. We are celebrating International Women's
Day today and I want to know who are some
of the women that inspired you throughout your life. Well,

(05:04):
I have to say, first off, my grandmother. So my
grandmother is my biggest hero Interneth Novice. But like she
raised me, my parents moved to the States, when I
was six months old. So she raised not only me,
but like seven other kids, and she had twelve kids
of her own, and she had from my grandmother's side,
there's twelve kids, ten and girls, two boys. So my

(05:27):
entire family is all women. So this is this is
a big day for us. And in her house, you know,
International Women's Day, So you know, every time it happens,
we'd always celebrate my grandmother because she's just the most
incredibly sweet, happy. She passed away like three years ago,
so I have to say that she's the one that

(05:48):
inspires me the most. Yeah, and you got to keep
her her memory alive, all right, Dania. Hang on quick
Break and then More with Dania Ramirez celebrating International Women's Day.
You're on with Courtney More Fun coming up Courtney Lopez here.
So getting back to our friend, actress Daniel Ramirez, And
I gotta ask, um, you have an amazing husband that

(06:09):
we love so much. Beveland, Um, how how you're working
so much and you're always traveling. How do you balance
you know, your your kids, your husband, and your family
life with work and what do you do? You know,
I have to give a lot of credit to my
husband for being so supportive because it is a very
difficult thing to find the balance between being ma wife,

(06:34):
you know, work, actress, lover, and I still find time
for myself. So I start warning with a fifteen minute meditation,
you know, just like and just allow myself to build
my cup so that I'm able to like really give
to other people. But really, you know, I'm so lucky.
He's very nurturing and he's able to be with the

(06:55):
kids when I'm not there, and I don't feel like
they're missing that nurturing side. You know, a mother of
victim raised a child by himself for many, many years,
and so that was one of the reasons why I
thought we were a good fit. Because I do work
a lot. Sometimes I can't be there and I don't
want to be filled with that guilt, and he reminds
me that it's okay. On with Courtney Lopez catching up

(07:19):
with actress Daniel Ramirez. Okay, I want to talk about
Alert and Missing Person's Unit, your new show. Are you
happy with all the feedback that you've gotten from season one?
And I'm extremely happy for the feedback. You know, it's
one of those shows that we where you know, it
all happened really fast. I felt like we were still
shooting it and it was like it was coming out,

(07:39):
and I was very prized and happy and excited about
how then audience was receiving it and people are really
behind it, and it's just exciting because it was a
great show and an exciting show for us to film.
The cast was fantastic, and that's really what I look
for at this point in my life would work, is

(07:59):
that the all that I'm working with every day are
people that I genuinely really like above and we all
jelled really well together. So we're just excited that people,
you know, responded to it, and we're looking forward to
hearing about, you know, a season to pick up. There's
some really good vibes out there so far, so I
was waiting to hear on with Courtney Lopez wrapping up

(08:21):
with actress Dania Ramirez. The Oscars are coming up on Sunday.
Um anyone you're specifically rooting for. I really really loved
Everywhere the film Everywhere. What is everything everywhere all at once? Everything,
every day, everywhere, everything like that, everything everywhere, all that one. Yeah,

(08:46):
And it was one of those movies and I'm talking
about like the performances were amazing, but also the movie itself,
like it resonated so well with me, just like you know,
the whole message about like you know, you could all
these things are happening, but really what matters to track
all the life with love? And that message was such
an incredible message and they were, you know, so vibrantly.

(09:08):
We were able to express it in such a vibrant way.
So I'm really booting for that film, those actors to
take it all. But I also, you know, I have
to say genuinely loved Elvis and I really want him
to get to win, just because I thought he did
an incredible job and made me a fan. Like I
know about Elvis before, but I felt like I was

(09:28):
a brand new Elvis fan after I watched that movie,
because I am, oh see, I haven't seen that, so
now I'm going to have to make it a point
to see it. I'm a little behind behind, yes, I'm
a little busy with the kids. Well, Dania, thank you
so much for hanging out with us. You can stream
Alert Missing Person's Unit on Hulu. You're beautiful. We love you,
we love your fan and we're so happy for all

(09:49):
of your success. Thank you, and I hope to see
you guys, very very I know. Let's make it happen today.
Corney's taking the reins as we celebrate international win. If
you're on with Courtney Lopez, more show on the way,
Courtney Lopez here with some quick buzz So WHOOPI Goldberg
has made it official. Sister Act three is in the works.

(10:10):
She's read the script and she loves it as long
as the execs don't mess with it. I don't know
yet if it will hit theaters or go straight to
Disney Plus. I recently interviewed Jennifer Hudson and asked her
if she would want to be a part of the
sequel because she did dressed up a Sister Act on
her Halloween special. Oh really yes, and she is all

(10:31):
for it. So I'm just putting that up. You're on
with Mario and Courtney Lopez, and I am in control
of the show today. Much like Home, Mario has taken
a backseat because we are celebrating International Women's Day today,

(10:53):
honoring all of the incredible ladies who have paved the way.
And I would love to know the women who have
inspired you, so hit us up on Twitter and tell
us at On with Mario and hang on, Courtney squurt
is coming up some CELEBT birthdays to celebrate, and of
course lots more music. So turn it out. You're on
with Mario and Courtney Lopez celebrating International Women's Day, and

(11:14):
we've also got some birthdays to celebrate this time. You
guys do the guessing. Okay, Okay, kat Vonde she's a
tattoo artist. La ink. Sure, I'm gonna say kat is
forty three. I'm gonna say kat is forty five. You
both are wrong. She is a forty one. Okay, we're

(11:37):
not off. The tattoos threw me off. Yeah. Kathy Ireland
Sports Illustrated cover model turned businesswoman, that's right. She was
one of the first um ladies to sort of transition
into the apparel game. Yeah, and I remember she got
socks and all kinds stuff. I started killing it. Kathy's

(11:57):
got to be faith d five fifty seven sixty Wow, Okay,
not how you usually say that at the age sixty. Okay,
I'm making dramatic. Yeah. Cameron at Mannheim, she won an
Emmy for the Practice Elvis, the TV movie. Cameron Mannheim,
who are you going back? Okay? I'm gonna say Cameron

(12:18):
Is sixty one, sixty three, Sandwich sixty two celebrating International
Women's Day. You're on with Courtney Lopez. More fun coming up, Mario.
Courtney Lopez here celebrating International Women's Day. So I have
taken control of the radio show On with Mario dot
com slash Women's Day to find out more. By the way,

(12:40):
some incredible women are going to be taking the stage
at our twenty twenty three. I Heart Radio Music Awards
a little over two weeks from today, and I'm so
fired up for this lineup. Kelly Clarkson, Pat Benatar, Icon
Award recipient, Pink, a special appearance by Taylor Swift, plus Coldplay,
Keith Urban, and so many more. It all goes down Monday,
March twenty seventh, live on Fox. He doesn't want to

(13:02):
do anything. It's Women's Day. The music girls on as
we get ready to serve up some justice and Courtney's
Court Mario and Courtney Lopez here hang tight for that.
And by the way, if you've got a song you
want to hear, just slide into our dms on Instagram
at On with Mario Lopez. Courtney's Court is just a
few songs away celebrating International Women's Day. It is Courtney Lopez,

(13:26):
and I am in control because well I took the
reins from Mario, who is also here, but nobody cares.
It's time to serve up some justice. All rise for
that my court, Courtney's court is now in session. All right,
Bailiff Mario, what's our case today? This comes from at
Megan Thatches, and she says, So, my friend Aaron is

(13:48):
the most negative person I've ever met. She's not depressed,
she's got a good life, but literally just rips and
downplays everything all the time. Recently, I was excited to
share some amazing news with her, but instead of being
happy for me, she's only commented on what she perceived
as the downside. I don't want to lose my friend,
but I'm at a loss. Is your friend my mom?
Because like my mom? Wow? You know what? Honestly, Megan,

(14:12):
that's just how some people are. And I feel like,
if that's the only thing she does that irritates you,
and it's a big thing, I get it. You just
gotta kind of oversee it and know that's what she
brings to the table and just kind of look past it.
I'm going to respectfully disagree. I didn't ask. Well, I'm
gonna for Megan's sake. As you get older, Megan, you
don't need any kind of negative energy in your life.

(14:34):
You either start to pull away or you have a
conversation like yo, we gotta keep it a little bit
more positive. You're a kid. And if she doesn't make
that adjustment, I don't think it's going to be much
of a loss. Listen, Clearly Aaron is very unhappy in
her life and she needs to make some adjustments. So
you know, take my advice or here advice. Whatever. It's
Women's Day, so you should take mine. Today Courtney is
taking the reins as we celebrate International Women's Day. You're

(14:56):
on with Courtney Lopez. More show on the way. Corney
Lopez here with some quick buzz. Du Alipa just picked
up a second set of citizenship papers. She's not only
British now, she's also officially Albanian. The President gave her
her citizenship, saying she's made Albanians famous throughout the world.
That must be a cool feeling to know. All Right,

(15:17):
back to the tunes we go. You're my Courtney Lopez
trying to put a spotlight on my wife. Let's get
to Courtney's random thought. What do you got honey? So
have you guys ever noticed that baby clothes some have
pockets in them, even though they don't need pockets. Of
course they need pockets. What have you got some goldfish?
You didn't finish it and say it for later, stored

(15:38):
in your little pockets. They don't put it in there,
They'll just pick it off the floor. That's true. And
if your baby still rocks a binkie has a fire,
they can put it. I can't get it off of him.
Our only kid is like we told him when he
was getting his haircut yesterday. Though he took his binkie,
throw it out of his mouth and he was ready.
But isn't that is that because it takes three people
to hold him down for the haircut? I did it

(16:00):
was by strong. No, Yeah, it was a challenge. It
was a challenge, right. We should have got videos. And
then after he says haircut, he's happy, I'm like, yo,
it was like torture. It was the weirdest thing. You
are on with Mario and Courtney Lopez and I am
running things because it is International Women's Day. But that's
not all we're celebrating. Oh, do we have any other

(16:22):
obscure holidays? Mario, Yes we do. Courtney, why do you
say my name like that woman's weird? Exactly? Why do
you say my name? Courtney? Kissed me off? Courtney. It
is a National proof Reading Day, and that's a holiday
that was first created by Judy Beaver, I like her name,
in twenty eleven. It was created in a remembrance of

(16:43):
her mother, Flow Flow Beaver, a woman who really loved
correcting other people's mistakes. It's why the day falls on
March eighth, the day on which Flow was born. Wait,
this was only from twenty eleven. National Proofreading Day should
not be every day. I proof reread. I can't even
send AXT and I need to get better at that.
I don't even like sending texts with typos in it. Yeah,

(17:05):
I correct texts. Here's that bad, that's bad. That's an
animal thing. I mean, it's good that you do that, right,
but I should and people will get the point. Yeah,
here's a fun fact for me. When I voice record
when I'm driving, I send whatever whatever comes out. I
don't even read it, and then I laugh at it
after and I'm like, they'll figure it out. Yeah, I
do the same thing. The crazy part of that is
if you have the radio owner listen to music, sometimes

(17:26):
the lyrics from the song will end up in the
text and it's kind of fun. I have a friend
that does that all the time. I want to punch
them in the face. I'm celebrating International Women's Day. You're
on with Courtney Lopez. It's more fun coming up. What's up?
It's Courtney Lopez and we've had some great guest on
the show lately. And the conversation continues while we're playing
the music, and there's stuff that you don't hear live

(17:47):
that you kind of want to hear. So we put
the entire chat on a podcast. Just search On with
Mario Interviews wherever you get your pods. All right, more
music now, okay, just a few more songs and then
we are going to we's in one last thing. Courtney
Lopez here in the meantime, tweet those song requests our way.
Please at On with Mario, On with Mario and Courtney Lopez.

(18:10):
I'm getting ready to wrap things up on this International
Women's Day. But first, one last thing we wanted to
share with you some of the inspirational women and our lives.
These women are so important to us and obviously we
won't be here if it weren't for them. So, honey,
since I have been doing your job today and you've
been sitting there eating bond bonds and surfing the web,

(18:34):
why don't you tell us who trading places? Yeah? Who
has inspired you? Well? Women have played an integral role
in my life's growing up and even to this day.
Obviously my mom was a big factor, and anything I
am and will be is really because of my mom
my dad. Yeah, but my mom really, and my sister's
always been very supportive and even though she's a couple

(18:55):
of years younger, so always been kind of like the
smarter one. And all my boss is right now are female? Ironically, Oh,
my bosses are female? Yeah. So looking at the leader today, Yeah,
and then of course I have the queen at home. Yes,
this is Lopez. She She's great, isn't she shy? Does
she refer to herself in the third person? Or Andrew?

(19:20):
I think? Okay, okay, what about you, honey? You know,
I of course would not be where I am without
my mom. I always rag on her on the show
and Um. She she shows me what I do not
want to be like when I get older, So that
that is inspirational. M No. But my sister, your family,

(19:42):
every woman that I've that I have close to me. Um,
you know, they inspire me to keep going and be
the best mom and wife that I could be. You're
on with Courtney Lopez celebrating International Women's Day. On with
Mario dot com slash Women's Day to find out more
and hang on more. Show is just moments away. Well
that is it for us. Courtney Lopez here quickly saying

(20:04):
thank you for hanging out and celebrating International Women's Day
with us. Also thank you to actress Danio Ramirez for
a woman a woman for joining us On with Mario
