WHYN's John Baibak reports not only did Governor Baker sign a budget and increase the age to buy tobacco products, he also signed a first in the nation law that repeals antiquated laws that made criminal abortion and restricted contraception.
Police are under attack in this state and the country and one way to keep them safe is to make sure violent offenders remain behind bars and get high bails. Under a bill proposed by Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni, prosecutors would be allowed to appeal low bails. John talked about why the proposal is taking so long to get through the state legislature.
Roca is a program that was born in Massachusetts designed to keep kids on the straight and narrow and away from a potential life in crime. Molly Baldwin is the founder of the program. She was in Holyoke Tuesday night to open the program and told John Baibak how it has changed throughout the 30 plus years of it.
