Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with our radio. Hello everyone, welcome to your your zillion
episode of the Almost Amos podcast to hit your apps
app this month. We are so grateful for you guys
and joining us in the twelve days leading up to
the Bachelorette. Hello today twelve. This is day twelve and
(00:25):
we have the ladies of the hour here, Gabby and Rachel.
Ben you're ready to get him on? All right, ladies,
thank you so much for being here. Um, I have
a dying question that I need to start with. Okay,
why's the first episode? And I was so stressed because
it brought me back to my single days, like going
(00:47):
out with friends or like meeting guys with friends and
me being so worried that they were going to like
the same guy. So there's this scene where you guys
like reconvene after having some solo time with the guys
and you're like, okay, so who do you like? And like,
did you kiss anyone? Were you so freaked out that
(01:10):
like one like the other one was going to say
that she had already kissed the guy that you were eyeballing?
Not really, I mean we've already kissed the same guy before.
You didn't think the kiss was like locking a down
night one? Yeah, we were, I mean not. I wasn't
afraid you're going to have kissed someone I liked, because
(01:31):
then at least I could have known if he was
a good kisser. We compare now serious, you're supportive. I
don't think it was really ever thought in my mind.
I think we're both so excited for each other and
for ourselves that, you know, you really get swept away
on the first night. So there's just not even a
lot of room to think what if because so many
(01:53):
fun and good things are happening, and we're always going
to be supportive of each other. So you guys are
a spe actual special breed. I'm thinking back on my
time in Paradise night one and just being like Jade
is talking to Jared for too long, and you guys
are just like, Tress great, is he good? Should I
(02:14):
try it out? It's definitely different. Yeah, it's so different. Yeah,
we obviously were both on Clayton season together, and we
were kind of used to that environment and going and
knowing we were going to be dating, you know, some
of the same guys, right, and I had to be open.
Time really wasn't contingent. So it's like if there was
one guy that we both kissed or both like there's
(02:36):
thirty other so it's like there's plenty of fish in
this sea, there's no scarcity. That's amazing, Bravo. It is impressive.
It is impressive because I don't know if I could
do it. I don't know. I think I had dated
the same person of interest in the same person my
best friend. I remember this back in high school and
(02:56):
they were telling me about their dating a story and
I got jealous. So kudos the two of you. That's
why you're sitting in this position. So it leaves me
ask the question that so many people have been wondering.
When you found out that you both would be bachelorettes,
were you excited about this or would you have rather
been the other way around where only one of you
(03:17):
was chosen? Yeah, I mean I think we just had
no idea what to expect. We found out what the
rest of the world that we were going to be
doing it together, and obviously we kind of learned at
the same time as long as like with the boys
as well, But I couldn't have imagined doing it another way, Yeah,
me either. I think when we were announced at the
(03:38):
same time, there was an overwhelming sense of goodness. I
didn't ever think it was going to be bad. I
feel like we both trust ourselves so much that no
matter what, we were always going to come out on top.
So there really wasn't even any time and it wasn't
worth spending any energy like what if this goes bad?
You know, they guaranteed that it would be us throughout
(03:59):
the whole thing, which is what we were concerned about.
I think at the beginning, given the other time that
they tried it, but it was really clear from Jesse
that we would both be, you know, there till the end.
So it's like best case scenario to have a friend
by your side. I feel like it'd be so isolating
if it was just you alone totally. Let's talk about
the moment you found found out you're gonna be bachelor,
(04:19):
right did you know backstage, like you'd signed the contract,
you were going to be announced as bachelorette, and then
all of a sudden they were like, actually there's two
of you or did they ask you to be bachelor
right on the spot. We found out basically at the
same time as everyone else. Yeah, what do you mean?
Like when Jesse announced it live on after the final rows,
(04:41):
that was when you were you knew for the first
time you're gonna be Bachelor. Yeah. Lie, ever, I always
asked us that, and we just have no idea. They
brought us out there. I didn't know what was happening,
and then all of a sudden, you know, it was made. Yeah,
They're like, you're going back out, and you're like, for what?
(05:01):
How it happens that way? I mean, I remember when
I did it, like there's other people in talks and
I didn't know, and I flew out to l A
and then I did this live show and before I
knew it, I was walking back out and they said, hey,
it's your it's your deal, and I said, I won't
believe you until it happens in front of other people,
(05:22):
I won't believe you. So for the two of you,
this is obviously unique circumstance. There has been a lot
of people more I'm gonna say now, more intrigued with
how this season is going to play out. At first,
it was a lot of people being like, I don't
want two bachelorreats. These girls deserve their moment, then over time,
because of the support you showed for each other, people
were more like, oh, this might make sense. So like
(05:44):
for the two of you as humans, what was important
to you to kind of hold onto and hold true
to knowing that so many people were gonna be watching
this going are they going to support each other? Are
they gonna fight with each other? How are they gonna
uplift each other? So what was unique with each one
of you and how you kind of approached being the bachelorette? Yeah,
I don't know. I think for me, I don't care
what anyone really thought or what anyone's opinion of it was.
(06:08):
I just knew that I always held my friendship with
Gabby above all, So it was just going in knowing
that me and her we're going to have to have
open communication and really trust each other. So it's like
above all, just really putting each other first and making
sure we both found happiness because it is possible. So
I mean the thing, Yeah me, dude, there really wasn't
(06:28):
a lot of time for us to even weigh the
other side. It all happened so fast, so we couldn't
even get lost in what other people were thinking. And
of course when we're filming, we're just so in it,
but that it honestly wasn't even a thought that we
would be I mean being in it, that we would
be pitted against each other. It's completely our decision and
how to behave when the pretty will, So I mean,
(06:50):
we just like took it upon ourselves to put each
other first because I wouldn't want it any other way.
You're going through enough dating multiple men. It's exhausting. I
know they mentioned free will actually, and so many times
(07:12):
on this podcast especially people come on. You read the
headlines of people being very upset with their time on
the show, and I get that right. Some people do
not have a great experience, and that's fair to them,
but some people do. Some people enjoy it. Do you
feel when we already saw it on night one where
you kind of change the rules and you put your
foot down, you said this is the way we think
we should do it. Leaving now and looking back, do
you feel like this experience was unique and how you
(07:35):
wanted it to be done or do you feel like
you were pushed around and told what to do and
spit out the end and you're like, I guess this
kind of worked out not at all. I feel like
we really did kind of pave the way for the
way this was you know, this experience was filmed, and
the way we did it, we just you know, had
a lot of say so, I feel really really good
(07:55):
about it, me too. I think Rachel and I too,
is what helped us so much, as we're both really real, raw,
genuine people and we're both so honest with each other
and everyone around us. So it really couldn't have happened
a different way. So we kind of get a little
bit of it and the scenes for the next episode,
and we certainly saw what Jesse meant by, um, you
(08:19):
guys not like all the rules that we kind of
traditionally see happened with the show applying to you guys,
And so she by sts like what I'm talked about
is the first row ceremony. You guys kind of made
it a collaborative effort. You're like, I really want to
like skip the ceremony part. Let's eliminate the guys we
totally don't have a connection with. What else can we
(08:40):
expect will be untraditional? And can you give us any
clues as to like, at what point you're gonna select
your team's kind of like like are we gonna say
you're for me and and she's for and he's for you?
I think with us, like the initial thing was really
just wanting it to happen as a game as possible,
(09:01):
and a lot of guys, like even straight off the bat,
you know, they came for one or felt a connection
with the other. So a lot of it was just
meeting people and kind of figuring it out along the way.
But as for like traditional roles, like we never thought
that we had to do something like oh there needs
to be a roast or there needs to be a
cocktail party, like, and we didn't feel comfortable with something,
we would kind of take it into our own hands. Yeah, okay,
(09:25):
So when do we think that we're going to see
like a division here, like one of the guys going
to have to Are the guys gonna have to pick
which one they want to continue dating or you girls
going to pick? I think in the scenes in the
next episode we see a little preview of you guys
picking drafting you. I don't know. We have to tune in. Unbelievable,
(09:48):
you're good at this, Just say tune in and nobody
can ask a follow up. Well, it is something I
get asked a lot. There's like four questions is that
you're not going to get asked at least for me.
It's been six years, so at least the next six
years of your life, you're gonna be asked about four
questions that people want to know. The one that I
get asked the most is what I want to ask
(10:09):
you because there's more men now than ever before. What week?
Be honest with me, what week did you feel like
you started to know the men's names confidently? Were you
weren't standing up there to group date being like I
am thinking that back of your head and maybe like sorry,
I gotta take a drink and go and ask the producer,
like what's their name again? When did you start to
(10:31):
feel confident in having the names down from each one
of these thirty two contestants. I'm really good with me
and I don't know what it was. Immediately, like I
was able to put like limo entrances with names, So
it happened for me really quickly. Yeah, I would say
week two or three probably by the time we got
it settled in. Yeah, but yeah, yeah, She's like if
(10:55):
I meet your family on the road, kind of like
action or relationship, but I just am not in names person,
but I don't know. It happened to that over and
I like, um, you know, like that's so good, that
is so that's great. I would I would be like
(11:17):
more like Gabby. All right, so night one, you guys
have like your first instincts, right, your first impression roses? Obviously,
do the guys that I think that got your attention
on night one stand as the guys who you felt
most strongly about throughout the entire way? Are there surprises
(11:39):
if you lose interests and some of the guys that
you thought at Night one you were definitely into. That's
what's always fascinating to me because I know that if
I were the bachelorette, I'd be like that one, that one,
that one that's it. Stop the game were over, Let's
go to week you know, Top three. Did you guys
get surprised? Yeah? Oh yeah, I would shocked. I mean
(12:00):
I really think, of course you have initial like connection
and who you think is cute, but there is something
so intangible about like chemistry, and you really don't know
that until you get to know them more, and then
someone could just like really surprise you or someone you
thought you had a good connection with like might not
later down the line. So it really was just that
chemistry and seeing if it was there or not. For me. Yeah,
(12:21):
and especially in the first night, we didn't get to
talk to many men, which is why we ended up
canceling the Roads ceremony. So based off that, I mean,
you're really doing yourself a disservice if you don't remain
open minded, because relationships progress at many different speeds. I mean,
for me on Clayton season, I feel like I didn't
really come into myself until much later, So allowing that
(12:42):
for other people, depending on personality types and kind of
what they lead with. UM, it's really beneficial to remain
open minded. You know. It's uh, you don't have to
comment on this, but it's a thought of mine. It
really sucks, and you now know to break up with
people during the show, it's like one of it's the
worst part and it happens about every day or every
other day. Um, it always hurts. It never gets easier.
(13:05):
I love that you didn't have a roase ceremony. I
feel terrible for the three dudes that just didn't even
make that didn't even make it to pass. It was
a more way to go home that personal. We just
I think once we knew we had a decision, we
(13:26):
never wanted to lete anyone on. We were so adamant
about that. Yeah, there was only a couple of people
we both talked to night one, and they just happened
to be people we both talked to and knew that
there wasn't that connection. Doesn't mean they're amazing, because they
were very incredible guys, but we just didn't think it's fair.
It's fair. There's just no you know, you're not a
bad human for sending somebody home. That's a part of
(13:48):
the process. Uh, It's just was wild to watch. Well,
we only have a few more minutes with you. Um hey,
it makes good TV. It makes good TV, and that's important.
It's actually a little more personal and meaningful, like if
you get to do it not at a road ceremony,
because just not receiving a rose, you don't receive any closure. Right,
you're right, but it is like such a personal rejection.
(14:10):
It's just no, I don't think anyone's ever done it
like that, But I think it was more Rachel carried
us throughout that. I'm just smiling, so nice to meet you. Silence.
So I'm like, okay, I'm crazy to her and I
deliree because it does take a lot to be able
to especially the first night. You don't know what you're doing,
(14:30):
but you want to make good decisions. So I mean
bow down to Rachel and her skills because I think
you did it in such a good way. Definitely, And
there's no And the thing is what people don't un say,
there's no right way ever to send somebody home. So
like we could argue, is there better, it's like no,
it's always gonna hurt. Yeah, Okay. A big storyline, uh
(15:03):
from your time on Clayton's season, which his name was
brought up away too many times during your first episode,
was that he fell in love with multiple people. Um
that started years ago, Um by some fool who decided
to do the same thing. Now though for my own benefit,
(15:23):
give me something here. Can you see how it happens
the two of you? I think I definitely can understand
how you've formed really strong connections with multiple people. I mean,
it's just so undeniable because every person is just so different,
Every relationship is different, and it it is easy to
like compartmentalize and really just be with that person when
(15:44):
you're with them. So I definitely see it from like
that point of view, um, but I just don't really
see it from the point of view of like the
way he did it. I guess it's so public open
with both of us, right. I don't think it was
the sentiment that you can fall in love with multiple people.
It was the tension and actions behind it and how
everything played out afterwards. So I think with that, you know,
(16:05):
we have to keep in mind it's fair. Yeah, that's fair.
Let's talk a little bit about the Clinton hate. It
seemed to go a little bit overboard, especially when there's
that chorus of kids that were singing like we hate
Clinton or something like that. How do you feel about
him watching this episode. He probably won't actually, but he'll
hear about it. I wouldn't. I mean, obviously, it definitely
(16:29):
was you know a lot, we heard his name a lot.
But I just hope he is, you know, a good
sport about it, because it really has no hard feelings
at all. I just think that that was just the
only way some of the guys you knew us, I mean,
they watched us on his seasons and they saw what
we went through, so I think they were just trying
to poke fun at something that like, you know works
over now. Yeah, I think it was just a nod
(16:51):
to our journey because us becoming bachelor's together. I'm sure
it was a lot of how things ended. So I
think they're just trying to relate all the experiences. But honestly, no,
you know, hard feelings to explaining at all. I think
it was all just mainly a way to laugh about it. Um,
but it's you know, we wish nothing but happiness for him.
(17:13):
We hope that he supports us in our journey and
we want to support him moving forward to that's good. Yeah,
it probably won't be hard after them me. I just
it happens every season, right people. That's the only way
they know how to do it. And they're nervous. They
say whatever they know, they're just nervous. So a weird night. Well, uh.
In the last final couple of questions here, what can
viewers expect from your season? The two of you give
(17:34):
us your best sales pitch, and if you don't mind
ending it with the simple question, are you too happy
or are you not happy? I think watching us everybody knows, um,
we have a flair for the drama, so yeah, they
(17:54):
can expect a lot of tears. I mean, Gabby and
I are just you know, criers, yeah, or the drop
of a hat. You're mistakes, but I just think we
the whole time, We're just doing what was best for us,
no matter if that was a traditional layout or not.
I'm excited for people to see us kind of go
off the route that's normally taken and get to see
our friendship along with two love stories at the time. Okay, yeah, okay, alright,
(18:22):
So now I like to play a game when we
have the leads on for the first time the beginning
of the season, I take the guys that I think
you guys liked the most based on Night one, and
then I ask you to say their name with a
straight face. Because it all started when my mom used
(18:42):
to say say his name with a straight face to
me when she thought I was crushing on someone. And
if I couldn't do it, that meant that you like,
I know. But before I asked those guys names, I
want to know which guys did you have conversations with
a night one that didn't get aired and that you
(19:05):
actually really liked, really vibed with, but we didn't get
to say, I have one. I think Brandon and I
had a really good conversation. They only showed me in
the blue suit, which I don't think you could even
decipher which one we actually sat down and had a
really meaningful conversation after. Yeah, that they didn't. Are I
literally trying to think, Oh my gosh, there's just so
(19:28):
many conversations. Yeah, that was the main one. I think
basically aired in some capocity because you really didn't have
that many conversations, like combined, like less than half. Yeah,
we only talked to like combined, you talked to you
about half the guys combined combined. Yeah, it was. We
(19:50):
did not get time with them at all. Yeah, it was.
It was like you guys wrapped so deep into the
morning based on how light it was. Alright, actually, only
have a few minutes left here. You've got to get
going with your game. Sorry, I didn't see my time.
My time cats, Okay, game time real quick, Rachel, you're
(20:16):
up first. These are the guys that I think you
really liked. Say Tino's name, Tino, Okay, Aven, Aven, Jordan V.
Jordan V. It was a little harder. That was a
little harder for people who are not watching this on Instagram.
(20:37):
She said Tino and Aven with a straight face. Jordan
h Jordan h okay. And lastly, she's not good at
this game. She's laughing. She's smiling after everybody, you're good
saying their name with a straight she's laughing at Gabby's
next she's a good girl. Yeah, say Hayden, Hayden. Okay. Alright, Well,
(21:05):
it'd be funny if I named like Gabby's fiance in
that list. That would be pretty funny. That would be
worthy for a different reason. About all right, lastly, Gabby,
I only have three guys for you. I felt like
you vibed. Maybe with last maybe we saw less conversations.
But ready set go, Mario, Mario, she likes she She
(21:28):
couldn't do it. She couldn't keep a straight face there, Eric, Eric,
all right, that's straight. Ryan, Ryan, alright, very tricky. Alright,
make sure we get this on Instagram so that you
guys can shoot you know, you can determine which ones
they really really like them. That's a good game. It's
(21:53):
a good game. Well, hey, Gabby and Rachel, uh, we
really are excited for the two of you. Uh, and
from all of bats a nation if I could speak
on behalf of them. UM, just excited that you two
are supporting each other in such an incredible way. I
don't know how many times you're gonna hear it. I'm
sure a lot, but you can't hear it enough. The
best of luck is this season continues the air. Have
(22:14):
a lot of fun with it. Soak it in and
we're going to be cheering you on here at the
Almost Famous Podcast. But um, yeah until then until we
talk to you again, which we will. Uh enjoy this ride.
Thank you nice. We're truly excited to watch your journeys.
I know that sounds cliche, but it's true. That is
(22:36):
what it is. There's no other word to describe it.
It is a journey. Okay, bye bye, thank you. Well
that was the two leads from this season of The Bachelotte.
We're very excited here at Almost Famous Podcast for two
of them. If you know, podcasts are different, you don't
(22:57):
get to see them like we do. But they're giggly,
they're smiley, they're beautiful. They seem very happy, um, very
supportive of each other and uh, and that just I
don't know. For me, it makes me very excited to
watch the rest of the season, and we kind of
saw that tonight on this episode. We'll have him back,
uh during the season. At the end of the season,
they kind of check in with them, see how they're
doing and how they're holding up. But until then, I've
(23:21):
been been, I've been Ashley. Thanks guys by follow the
Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast on ihurt Radio
