Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Benn and Ashley I almost famous podcast
with our radio Hello, Hello, Hello, there. It is Ashley
and today I am not joined by Mr Ben Higgins,
but I am here with one of the summer's biggest
reality stars, John Paul Jones is and it's his first
(00:22):
time on the famous podcast. Super excited. Thank you for
having me, Ashley. He's here looking just like a Disney
prince the way that we've always imagined him to look.
Have you gotten that before here and there? Because like,
you literally look like a cartoon that you're like James
Marzin and enchanted when he pops out of the cartoon
and he's a real life human. That's so funny here
(00:44):
and there. I don't know some of you Bachelor people
tend to bring that up. I think it's funny, it's awesome.
I mean, who doesn't want to look like a Disney print.
Let's talk about the first time we Matt, Yeah, you
just kind of ran look like just so much enthusiasm
towards Jared, who at the time was that was my fiance.
(01:05):
We were at Crystal and Chris's wedding in Paradise, and
you didn't care about anyone else there except for Jared
and tell everybody why that was. Yeah. Sure, So I'm
not really familiar. I don't consider myself a Bachelor person.
I don't I'd never really frequently watched the show, but
Jared is one of the very few people I do
remember from Caitlin Bristow season. My sisters watched it incessantly
(01:26):
during the summer, and for whatever reason, I just remember
his face because he kind of looks like Tom Cruise,
doesn't he probably absolutely he has a sharper jaw on
Tom Cruise, you know, like you know, he's huge, like
rear cheekbones, you know, just he's just a memorable guy.
And he's one of the few people I remembered from
the show, and I was just excited to see him.
(01:46):
I think he took if I remember properly, I think
he took a pretty hard loss on the Caitlin Bristow season.
I just remember him, you know, he was top four.
He definitely had you know, sentimental goodbye. For whatever reason,
that's the only thing I remember from that season, and
he's I couldn't tell you who else was on his season,
but I remember Jared. That is so sweet and you
don't even know how much you made his day month
(02:08):
a year by calling he he may. I remember after
the first episode of The Bachelorette he deemed me and
I was totally blood Yeah. I think it was the
first episode, and uh, you know, I didn't really get
that much attention after that, but Jared DMed me and
told me like, hey, you're Ashley and his favorite whatever,
and I was just really I was really flattered by
(02:29):
It's he's a he's a good guy. I'd keep him around.
Thank you for life, commitment for life. I'm glad to
say that. Congratulations, thank you formally addressed for congratulation you,
but you just I mean, Tom Cruise is one of
his top three man crushes. I think Tom Cruise is
sort of the epitome of like man status. I think
(02:50):
like every guy growing up wants to be Tom Cruise
and your significant other happens to look Will always say.
And it's really funny because he's sounds so much like him,
especially when he gets passionate. If he's like really ranting
about something, it's like Jerry McGuire. Yeah, and I love it.
That's awesome. That's awesome. Okay, so did you watch the
(03:11):
episode last night? I did, I'm familiar with some of
the key highlights from it. I don't think I'll be
able to keep up with all the names, but that's fine.
I think I'm looking through my notes right now and
I'm thinking that there's really only like four names that
you really need to know. How about Maddie. How do
you feel about Maddie? Because I want to start with
a little gossip going on in the world about Maddie.
(03:32):
Could you please give me a little filler? Okay, So
Maddie was on the one on one last week. Oh yeah, yeah,
you know what. Oh, I really liked her. She was
really reserved, you know during the whole wedding vow um
exchange and what was it um? Yeah, she was. She
didn't draw any unnecessary attention to herself. She kind of
respected the whole process of you know, getting to know
Pete's family without being too overbearing and you know, kind
(03:53):
of giving off that vibe that I know, I look
at me, I'm on this reality TV show and ading
your son whatever. She didn't really try too hard. There
was a really, uh, sort of natural charisma about her. Yeah.
I think everybody left with like a great taste in
their math about Maddie last week. Yeah, can I ask
you a question real quick? That the girl who walked
up to Pete and put a blindfold on him immediately
(04:14):
he started making out with him. What do you think
would have happened if somebody from my season did that
to Hannah? Oh? Oh, I don't know him go to
ways And I know it's such a risky move, but
I don't know, I thought it was really bold, you know,
I don't. I think Pete's such a nice guy, and
you know, I think he may he may be a
little submissive in that respect. I don't think he's gonna,
(04:35):
you know, turn a girl down from kissing him. But
I don't know. I thought maybe there could be a
little bit, a little bit, a little bit of a
double standard. There usually double standards when it comes to
I know, I know, I was just really thrown aback
by that because I don't think anybody on my season
could have gotten Maybe Tyler Cameron could have gotten away
with doing that with Hannah Brown, but I that was
a risky move. I both admired it and just kind
(04:56):
of made me ponder, you know, the guy did that
to a girl, just think I know, I know that
was a risky anyway. Anyway, you have to admire and
the question. At the same time, it was interesting, you know, Peter,
you spent weeks with him on the show. Tell us
a little bit about him that you don't think that
(05:16):
we would know. Yeah, well, I think Pete's very established
in his career as a pilot. You know, he's twenty
eight years old, and uh, you know, I think he's
been single for a while. So I think this is
a really an appropriate time in his life to like
find someone that he really cares about. He's very passionate
about flying um and you know, I think, you know,
he's really ready to find someone to share his life with.
(05:36):
I agree with you. It's nice to see somebody who
is so passionate about their career become the Bachelor, and
you know that he's going to go right back to it. Yeah. Yeah,
I mean, look at his Instagram stories. You know, he's
posting videos of himself in the cockpit um. You know,
when when he's not flying commercially, you know, I don't
know what his you know, family situations like that. You know,
he's clearly flying these cool little like propeller planes, and
(05:59):
I mean you can tell the guys really passionate about
what he does and it's really cool to see. And
I think he's ready to share that passion with someone.
He's very passionate. The way that he kisses a girl. Yeah,
it's very yeah, yeah, surprisingly, you know, because he looks
it isn't I know, I know he comes off as
kind of submissive, but you know, he definitely takes the
(06:20):
reins when it comes to romance totally. And yeah, we
we talked to p Yes last weekend. He was saying that,
you know, on an off day, he'll just go fly.
That's the coolest thing in the world. That's I mean,
that's badass. I mean who can do that, you know,
I mean people that are incredibly established in their career
and they have so much money they don't know what
to do with. Maybe they'll go for a joy ride
(06:42):
in the evening. Frank Sinatra talks about that a lot.
Right to come fly with me. I'm pretty sure that's
what he Pretty sure that's what he did, right, Yes,
I like, you know, they don't have to write to
that song, because you imagine if they did. I know,
I know, I know, But the point being a pizza
cool guy. If he if he can just kind of
go for a leisure flight whenever he wants. I mean,
it's pretty hard to compete with. I agree. So let's
(07:04):
get back to Maddie now, who you know want us
all over last week? But then there was some awkwardness
that happened on Thursday. Do you hear about this account? Yes,
so Bachelor sleuthors, this is an Instagram account. They did
some detective work over the past week. Um and this
past Thursday, Mattie Prue, you know at Maddie Prue on Instagram,
(07:26):
commented under at Maddie Prue's photo, saying, beautiful date, Maddie,
you are so genuine and real. Now on Instagram you
can have multiple accounts and then switching between them, you know,
you don't have to log out of the app and
then log back in. You can just like you know,
go to your other account. I didn't switch back and forth,
so like we do it with our dog. We did it.
(07:51):
We had to many pictures like that were just treasures
lying around to share them. Okay, So it seems as
if you know whoever wrote this comment under Maddie's Instagram
meant um, you know, meant it to not come from
Maddie's count because it would be kind of weird to
(08:13):
write a compliment to yourself on your own. Yeah. I
guess so that that is that that's definitely a little suspicious.
I'm not really here to condemn anyone. I mean, and
there's no proof, right right, Yeah, I don't know. I
think it's one of these things we just have to
wait out and see, like what does this fan account
wind up posting in the future that's true, like does
this fan account or we don't even know a fanic,
(08:34):
We don't even know that there is a cafan account.
That's the speculation part. Okay, the speculate. It's very hard
to describe, guys, But the speculation is that Maddie on
her phone would have multiple accounts attached to her Instagram,
and then she was on her regular personal account and
made the comment thinking opposed fan account. That definitely could
(08:56):
have happened. Yeah, I can definitely attested that to an agree.
I think there was there's some John Paul Jones fan
page out I think so, I think, but I think
somebody could easily have accused me for the same thing.
Now I can guarantee you I don't spend my time
creating an account for myself commenting on my own photos.
I mean, I just don't really see how that could
(09:17):
gain any sort of traction. Uh. Look, I don't know.
I wish you the best, Maddie. Look if you if
you did it, Um, I'm sorry. Looks a little bit
conceded to the public. Does look a little conceded. It
looks a little bit like, oh man, you're gonna say
that about yourself. I think it's less honestly, I think
it's less of her having a fan account that she's running,
(09:39):
and more so what the comment said, right right, right.
But at the same time, there are much worse things
you could do. There are. There are a hell of
a lot worse things out there, Maddie. So the grand
scheme of things, like I think you know you'll look
at this and you know, laugh down the road, I
don't know. But also, yes, in the grand scheme of things,
this is gonna be forgotten after this conversation on the podcast, right,
(10:02):
But I have one more thing to add about it,
so it doesn't just end at that. It seems as
if a friend appears to take credit for the Instagram
mistake and their their Instagram handle. Yes, is um underscore
A underscore I underscore d underscore three three four wrote, Oops,
(10:25):
I thought I wrote that comment about being really or
friend from my accounts. I was locked in to Maddie
when she got back from filming. Don't hate me at
Maddie Prue. That is awfully specific and very Yeah. I
know someone is clearly trying to bail her out whatever.
(10:48):
I don't know, Maddie, You're not We're not charging your
friend crimes, but the evidence is a little overwhelming. Maddie
then responded to her friend, saying, ha ha ha, You're good.
It happens love you. So it's definitely all the I mean, okay,
there's no actual proof of this, but that is certainly
(11:09):
what it looks like. Yeah, yeah, sorry, Maddie. I have
no bone to pick with you, but in this instance,
it does look like you had you created a fan account. Well, yeah,
there are there are worse things you could do. You
certainly are. How did you think of Maddie and Peter's
chemistry last night? Because last night he gave her a
(11:31):
photo from the nuptial renewal of the family It was
her and his family framed. I know it's a statement. Yeah,
that is she clearly has, you know, a great attention
to detail, and I think she seems I think that
just purports the fact that she's really serious about this
whole endeavor. Um, And I was really impressed with her
(11:51):
because again, you know, she was very you know, kind
of humble and you know, kept to herself and was
not drawing unnecessary attention during that wedding. So she seems
like a really cool girl. You're saying she didn't she
didn't draw necessary attention during the play. You feel like
you've learned a lesson. Uh yeah, we can talk about that.
(12:14):
Uh yeah, no, she was. She seems like a cool girl.
All right, Well, um we have we don't have much
more Bachelor news that I think is like really important
to talk about, So I do want to jump into
the episode. Let's start with Hannah. That's where we left
off in last week's episode. It was the best part
of last week's episode, and this week we begin with
(12:36):
the conversation continuing, but less words this time more hugging.
Ye yeah, yeah, that was interesting. Um, Hannah is a
great girl. She's so charismatic and she's so much fun
to be around. We were your thoughts about her trying
to get Peter back, being that you know them both
way better than I do. Well, we're bottled that with
a question, what do you think about a girl, a
(12:59):
girl who chose two other men over him? Right? I
think I kind of find it hard to believe that
she's really that into him. Uh, that's just my opinion.
I would I've said, before Dancing with the Stars, Yeah,
I think that was about the week that she probably
started filming Dancing with the Stars. I believe that most
(13:20):
of it is probably rooted in jealousy and just like
realizing that the guy that she could have had is
now going to have the availability of dirty other women
who want him. Right, but didn't she also try to
rekindle things with Tyler C and the reunion, So I
don't know, maybe maybe she was just banking on some
potential lingering feelings there. I don't know, she has the
(13:41):
support of production. Why not give it a shot. I mean,
there's really the worst thing that he could have done
was say no, and he was clearly open to it.
He was definitely open to it. But that's what I
think is weird, is that we didn't get any response
from her. We just we ended with hugs, and she
never said I can't come join you in the house.
(14:01):
She never said I can't do this, I have to
go do dancing with the stars, and never talked about
a long term plan like I kind of predicted last week.
All it was was like a lot of touching and
almost kiss and then him ending the conversation with I
can't do this. Now, I'm thinking that he said I
can't do this because he was kind of treating his
(14:23):
heart fairly and trying to treat the other women fairly, right,
right right. I also think that that that one gosh,
I ever get her name, the one who put the
blindfold over him? Uh, that one I think we saw,
I don't know, the girl who put the blindfold over
Pete and started making out with him. I know who
he's referred to. Any point being is that I think
we saw a little bit of Pete's submissiveness and you know,
unwillingness to deny anyone like their attention. So I think
(14:46):
I think, I think Pete could just be feeling bad
and maybe he's, you know, the pressure is getting to him,
and you know, maybe he's really sort of rekindling some
of these feelings that he had for Hannah, And I
don't know, maybe he's just unwilling to deny her out
of result of the pressure that he's undergoing. I get it,
he just kind of wanted to fade out rather than
just like say it. Yeah, and some guys just don't
(15:06):
want to be mean, you know They some guys just
feel obligated to say yes even when they don't want to,
because they just don't want to be mean. Right. Don't
you feel like we as an audience didn't get much
closure with the Hannah storyline, if it indeed does end here,
we went from the most dramatic conversation last week to
like nothingness. And I was waiting, you know how he
(15:27):
told the girls that he couldn't continue with that date,
that he'd meet them later for the after party. I
was thinking, we're going to see him in the interview
room all afternoon sorting out his feelings towards Hannah. I
thought we were going to see Hannah doing the same thing.
We got nothing. Well, that's why we're going to tune
in next week, right, So I guess I'm just like,
(15:50):
I'm feeling like it's poor storytelling if we don't get
this storylined wrapped up in some capacity or an other.
Did they leave it open ended like this so that
we had that continuous mystery and we keep holding on
for the ending possibly being about Hannah. Or are we
just supposed to forget about it? I don't know. I
(16:10):
don't know. I wish I could tell you. I think
I think they've left it open ended to just keep
us in trance to the story. I agree, so we
could keep wondering about her coming back in the right
right right, all right? Well, only time will tell, I suppose.
And if if Hannah doesn't show up again, I'm going
to be annoyed. That really get closure? Oh right, right,
(16:34):
right right? Like why didn't you join? Well we all
know why you didn't join the house? Right right right? Okay,
all right? I think John is done with this and
he's eyebawling a glass of champagne? Are actually a champagne
bottle that we have in front of us, and that
is placed there so we can talk about the champagne
(16:54):
storyline in class? Sure? Yeah, you want to pop that bottle?
Thank you. I thought this was just kind of here
for show. I thought maybe you guys were teasing me
with this. I don't know, all right, well, while John
is finangling with the bottle, we will take a break.
(17:22):
Let's discuss champagne gate. So it all started when Kelsey,
who's stunning so pretty, Yeah she yeah, she, Um, I
think she's the prettiest girl in the house anyway, Yeah,
do you have an opinion? Do you think there's a
prettiest girl in the house. I'll have to second that Kelsey's.
(17:45):
Kelsey's very pretty Hannah and also says with this really
beautiful natural look to her. Yeah. So Kelsey has been
reserving this very special bottle of champagne that she got
for her birthday last year for special occasions, and she
brought it all the way from Iowa to have to
share with Peter. So she sets it all up, candles, glasses,
(18:06):
all in the basket, very cute by the fireplace at
the pre Rose Ceremony cocktail party. But then of course
Hannah Ann walks by arm in arm with theater, Oh,
come on, you know how, and says, let's sit down
and let's have let's let's have a boll champagne about you.
But it seems like there are magical forces behind this
(18:27):
sort of quincid you know, Hannah and was kind of
the one to beat. Initially, given that she won the
first impression rows, there seemed to be some strange forces
at work out to get one said, it's so much
better than I could have said it. I don't know,
it's there are strange forces at work here. I think
you'd have to agree. I definitely agree to Hannah. Anne
(18:48):
was definitely public enemy number one from you know, the
other contestants standpoint. So I think she may have been
prompted by certainly somebody to have interrupted that whole champagne thing. Yeah,
so mama happened during my season the bachelrette with Luke.
Everyone was out to get him. Yeah. My theory is
that some magical force was like, there's a bottle of
(19:10):
champagne waiting for you, guys. You should pop it. It's
that way, go find it. It's that way. So she's like, okay,
So she's strolling along in the first bottle of champagne.
The only bottle of champagne, che seas is right by
the fireplace. Lo and behold, there was another bottle of
champagne sitting in the little like um, you know, the
little pool area. And that wasn't the first one. She
(19:31):
she was like, Okay, I'll stop here. Yeah, Yeah, poor Hannah,
and she has no idea the champagne bottles are coming
from every direction. You know, how is she supposed to
know that one of them is special? You know? I
think I don't know. There seems to be a curse
on the first impression roads. Whoever gets it seems to
be public enemy number one. From the whole house standpoint,
I don't know. Look, I think I think Hannah deserving
(19:52):
le public enemy number one. But in this situation, I
wish Kelsey would have seen some special forces at work.
It was. This is definitely not a Hannah and thing.
And while I don't think that she's very defendable, I'm
definitely defending her in this situation. Yeah, how's the poor
girl supposed to give her a break? Gosh? I mean,
Lord knows what's going to happen the next episode. I'm
(20:13):
sure something will happen Hannah, and that will cause controversy.
It's always the first impression Rose winners that are under
the gun. She definitely didn't do it with malice. She
may have not, she just didn't know. She's ignorant towards
whose bottle it is. Um, I can see Kelsey getting upset.
I think Kelsey and I'm the last person to ever
be able to say this, and perhaps John you are
(20:35):
the other person that can't ever say this. But she
was a little bit dramatic, she reacted a bit, oh sure,
without without a doubt. I mean, you're under a lot
of pressure. I mean there are cameras on you the
entire time, and you have no idea what the outcome
of the scene will be. And so she I think
she probably just stuck caught up in the moment. She
definitely did. She called Hannah and some not the not
(20:55):
the greatest things, but but Hannah and later in the
episode calls it bullying, and in my point of view,
it definitely wasn't bullying. And this is one of the
many times on the show we've had to discuss just
the term bullying and what it means. I believe that
bullying is completely different than confronting someone from not liking someone.
(21:18):
That's like, I don't even think nobody said that you
were bullying Derek when you had the confrontation. It was
a fight. You had a fight, that's not bullying. Yeah, yeah,
I was definitely a confrontation for sure. So By the
definition in the dictionary, bullying means to seek harm and
to intimidate, to threaten, to abuse, and I just see
(21:40):
it completely. I don't interpret what went down between Kelsey
and hannah And as bullying. And I think that Hannah
and was obviously intentionally trying to mean girl out Kelsey.
I'm sorry you think that she was trying to mean girl.
Oh no, Hannah was trying to mean girl Kelsey when
she brought up the city reason to Peter and called
(22:01):
it bullying. She said she was up all night crying.
I'm like, now, now, you were not affected, girl, No,
absolutely not. And not only were you like not, I
don't think it was an emotional burden on you, but
I I think that you are confident enough and where
you are with Peter that you would have slept so
sadly that night even like, yes, she doesn't like me whatever, Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely.
(22:25):
And now Peter of course, is at the end of
the episode conflicted on what to do because hannah An
is telling him that Kelsey bullied, and then Kelsey is saying,
that's not how it went down at all. We definitely
I may have said some mean things, but it wasn't bullying.
What do you think Peter does in a situation like this?
(22:46):
Knowing what we've seen from Peter, I think he'll probably
hear both sides out. I mean, if it was me,
I probably would just dismiss the whole thing and make
them hash it out themselves. It's not something that I
think he really wants to deal with, but I think he'll,
you know, probably hear him out and he'll be able to,
you know, get an idea for who's the one complaining
and you know who who's really How can you tell
(23:08):
who's innocent who's truthful? I think he has to start
talking to the other girls about their feelings about It
just gets messy and you take away time from getting
to know other people. I think I think Peter should
just make them hash it amongst themselves. Um yeah, there's
always some sort of drama like this, and it seems
like the male lead can never figure out which girl
(23:31):
is the conniving manipulator, and I know it's impossible. Look you,
as the bachelor, I think you have to be the
true judge of character. You can't allow anybody else to
sort of speak for themselves. You just kind of have
to let your relationships with the other girls, like uh
sort of find themselves. Um yeah, I think Peter should
(23:52):
just stay away from, uh questioning all the other girls
that they just never it just never turns out. Well. Well,
then I just hope to see Kelsey get some more
time with him, Yeah, so that she can prove that
she's you know, that she's a cool chick and not
this girl who is a bully, because she's not a
bully in my opinion, I agree. Okay, what do you
(24:17):
feel about do you feel do you have any feelings
towards McKenna Because I didn't think I had feelings towards
McKenna before this episode, but I, um, I now do.
And I find her annoying and and I don't like
the way that her friendship with Hannah Anne looks and
she uses a lot of bachelor speak. Um do I
have a reason as to why I find her annoying.
(24:39):
I think it's because of the bachelor speak. I think
it's because she says things like like I'm really excited
about like our growth on this journey. You know. I
just don't like it when girls like say all these
weird things that they think they're supposed to say, because
they're on the Bachelor, right right, totally agree. Why are
you doing that? McKenna, don't do that? All right? We
(25:00):
have to talk about Victoria F when we get back,
and of course interview J p J Victoria F. I
like Victoria too. Yeah, she's also very pretty. I find
(25:26):
her really relatable. I like how honest she was about
how uncomfortable she was about the whole process, because it's
such an uncomfortable process. It's like, yeah, you're just totally
putting yourself out there and you have no idea how
you'll be portrayed in front of eight million people. It's brutal.
And also I found it really hard to start conversations
(25:46):
because you don't have like you know, when you're on
a date in real life, you're like, oh, I can
talk about the food. Oh I can talk about like
what I see on the Like you literally could come
up with anything, but they're in the Bachelor mention, like
that's all you feel like you can for two stuff
that's going on in the bubble, right, No, but no,
that's all in your head. I mean you can come up.
You can come up in my head, you can you
(26:07):
can come up with anything, like they didn't super random,
Like everything you come up is super randomly. You'd be like, so,
what's your favorite food? But you're not going to have
food in front of you. No. No, It's just so
tricky because what people don't understand what's so tricky about
this is that the objective is to find your spouse,
and you have not only that, but you have to
find a way to seduce them. You know, initially there
has to be an immediate almost romantic or like uh
(26:33):
intimate Uh yeah, exactly, And it's very difficult to create
those moments. And you have to do that while there's
a camera on you. You don't get to practice beforehand.
You don't there's no one between times, there's no small
talk exactly how long you're going to have It could
be like two minutes, it could be ten exactly, And
during that time period you have to somehow make this
person interested in you romantically. That's very difficult to do
(26:57):
with a bunch of cameras around. So I had I liked.
I like Victoria a lot for being honest about this
and how she says that she struggled. She has confidence
that she was that she struggles with often she's shy,
with guys, and then I love that she was so
open about that and then she really bucked up and
she rocked it on the Runway. She was runner up
or runner up on the Runway Challenge challenge with Hannah
(27:21):
Ann and Hannah was well. Of course she won because
she's an actual professional model, But I think that Victoria
was super sexy. She impressed Peter. She definitely stood out,
which is no question about it. Yeah, that's what she
That was her goal. She's like, I'm going to get
my stuff together and I'm going to make him remember me.
(27:42):
So anyway, I want to like her. I do like
her from what I've seen. However, spoilers and I will
say this spoiler alert you guys thirty seconds. If you
really don't want to know anything about these contestants from
off the show, you can skip the next thirty seconds.
But spoilers are saying that she has broken up friends
marriages before. Um. Spoiler sites are saying that they have
(28:06):
never gotten as many negative comments about a contestant before.
So if she hasn't breaking up marriages in Virginia Beach,
I would say that maybe this is an insecurity problem
and that she's you know, that's an insecurity problem, and
(28:26):
I don't want to like deep dive too deep into
her psyche especially. These are just rumors, but that's what's
flowing around out there. And she did say on November
twenty two on Instagram, it seems like that's the week
that I think the show wrapped filming. She posted an
Instagram saying that the rumors out there are false and
there will be a time and place where I can
(28:46):
defend myself, but for now I choose to wait only. Yeah, yeah,
we also how you know, Jed's a good friend of mine,
but we all saw that. We all saw how that
happened with Jed. Yeah. Anyway, if it's the case and
there's truth to the rumors, then I hope that you
know she doesn't make his top two can make that
(29:09):
whole complication again. Certainly, we have some honorable mentions about
the episode that I just want to run down on
this list of mine before I get to the most
uncomfortable interview JPJ has ever had. I seriously doubt that,
I seriously doubt that this is nothing. This is a
Navy affiliate, right, I mean, if you're not, and you
(29:34):
were embarrassed to say that how bad could it actually be?
Trust meesome, Let's go honorable mentions real quick. I really
like Natasha's realness in this episode. She's the oldest girl
on the show, and I think it shows. Uh, Kelsey
is a professional cloth and I can. I just want
to say that she can clothe me anytime she wants,
(29:56):
because that girl's outfits were amazed with. I also found
redhead Lexi really cool. She had like a nice, authentic,
flirty experience with him. It didn't seem like um they
were floating on TV. It just seemed like really natural.
I really like that. And then Sydney got the group
date rose after speaking about her strength for just not
(30:18):
feeling in place in the place that she grew up,
which was Alabama. All right, John, I first question for
you is why didn't work out for you and Tasia?
Literally the week you moved out to California for her. Yeah,
I just think that you know, the you know, the
way in which we met, it was just sort of forced,
(30:40):
and you know, I just think we both kind of
realized that we weren't right for each other. And yeah,
I'll leave it at that, but your head over heels
for her, Yeah, I was what do you mean it
was forced? The feelings were enforced? You you love it?
Just did you say I love you? I did? Okay? Um,
But yeah, I just think you know, the in which
you meet up it's pretty important because I just think
(31:03):
there was a lot of pressure at the time, and
I think it was a lot for both of us
to handle. And so I think we did the right
thing by splitting October all right, So you just weren't
compatible in the real world, basically, I think, so why doubt,
I don't know, it's what happened was unfortunate, But you
know what, she's so beautiful, she's so charismatic. I'm not
(31:25):
worried about her. She's going to do great things. Um.
And it was probably the best thing to split when
we did, honestly, because I think we just jumped into
it too quickly. Then why did you decide to move
to California? Well, obviously that that was a poll, right.
My girlfriend at the time went here, and I was
lucky that after b I p there was a talent
agent that spotted me and started submitting me for work modeling,
(31:47):
no acting, and uh, what was it? I was working?
So I was doing you know, kind of the whole
Instagram thing, you know. And I had a full time
job at the time. You know, it was really busy.
You know, we were getting ready to close up Q
three at the time. Uh. You know, you know, I work,
I worked for a public working throughout the airing apparent. Yeah,
it was, it was and that was a lot um
(32:08):
and uh. But at the same time, you know what
was in August, a talent agent, uh, you know, and
in Hollywood reached out to me and started submitting me
for work. And I had to fly out, you know
on Mondays to go audition for these things. And I
get the call Friday, prepare all week and then going
Monday and tell my boss, hey, look, I'm sorry, but
there's an opportunity I can't pass up. I'm not going
to be here on Monday. And it just became, you know,
too frequent that I was leaving work to go do this,
(32:29):
and uh, I'm not going to pass up an opportunity
to you know, go act for one of these you know,
exciting roles. Um. You know, I studied acting in college
and so um, you know, I under I have an
understanding of the craft, but you know, I have a
much better appreciation and understanding for it after you know,
going through so many auditions, But I just wasn't I
(32:50):
think you'd be a fool to pass up some of
the opportunities I've been. Yeah, I totally understand that. So, um,
what were you doating before him? Wasn't finance? Yeah, it
was a financial analyst at a publicly traded education technology company.
And um, again, like it was a lot like working
the show, going on the back end of the show, right,
it was a lot, and I was you know, I
(33:13):
got to a point where I was a little bit overwhelmed,
but it wasn't fair to my team, and I was
taking off so much work. I took off two months,
you know, a month for the Bats were at, a
month for Paradise, Uh, during filming, and I went back
to work, you know, immediately after filming. So uh, that
was kind of rough. There was no buffer period in
between like getting off the show and going back to work,
like I you know, I remember just being destroyed on
(33:34):
the last day of Paradise and then going into work
the next day. It was just so brutal. Uh. But anyway, Um, yeah,
work throughout the entire time. Did you have to have
you had success with your audition so far any of
them do you have. Do you giving yourself a timeline
to like pursue acting and then maybe go back to
your regular life if nothing happens. Yeah, for sure. So
(33:55):
I have a have a gig coming up in February.
Got really lucky with something I'm under contry act so
I can't really talk about it, but really really excited
and fortunate to have it. And I just did a
short film over the weekend that was a lot of fun.
Um And yeah, it wasn't. I totally caught me by surprise. Uh,
you know, it was just it was crazy. I never
(34:16):
could have expected this. Cool. Well, sounds like you've a
pretty busy life out here in Hollywood. Have you gone
on a date since Tatia? You know what, I don't
really talk about my personal life, John, You don't come
on the show if you don't talk. I have, I've
I've I've been on I've been on a few. Okay,
how did you meet those ladies? Um? So, I met
(34:36):
one of them through my cousin who lives in Santa Monica,
and I don't know, we just kind of looked at
each other one night at the Victorian and I didn't
quite get to talk to her enough. But because she
knew my cousin, somehow, I don't know, I was able
to track her down via Instagram through the information that
my cousin gave me. This is not me stalking her
and she knows this. So uh, Yeah, I met her
(35:00):
just by sort of locking eyes when they ended a
bar and it's and you started out via Instagram DM. No,
so I introduced myself into a Victorian. Yes, but then
you started conversing. Well, I couldn't. I couldn't ask out.
Why didn't you ask out? Because I don't know, some
somebody whisked her away and started talking to it. It
(35:21):
sounds like the Bachelor. I don't know. I don't know.
Something something happened that I think. I was out with
Connor Salley that night and uh and some of the
other Bachelor guys, and for whatever reason, fate took us
to another location and I get to finish that. Yeah,
we got yeah, like trated down. We got coffee shortly there.
(35:43):
It was great. Yeah. Are you still seeing her? I've been,
I do, I do, I do? I do? For sure?
All right, have you met anyone else? Um since breaking
up with Tasia? I here and there a little you know,
little little little coffee dates and things of that nature
(36:03):
come up. White coffee dates. I know this is a
new thing. I don't. I guess it's not anything. But
people do coffee because it's like short and cleansing during
the day, and you will take too much time out
of your life exactly. And I think it's the perfect
buffer period between like getting to know someone going on
a date. I think if you've just met someone and
wanted to dinner the next day, that's you know, there's
a lot of expectation placed on that dinner because it's
usually very romantic setting. But coffee is just quick and
(36:25):
it's a great way to you know, kind of get
to know somebody deeper and to assess whether or not
you know, you're compatible to an extent. I've got to ask,
have you talked to anyone who's slid into your d
M since the show come on? You responded to pretty
girls and you like here and there, But it's just
very like cordial and friendly, like oh hey, thanks, you know,
(36:46):
nice to meet you, that kind of thing. So you've
never met up with a girl who see, you've never
dated a fan? No, Okay, all right, Um, you and Derek,
let's imagine, let's go back time. It wasn't good called him,
You called him creepy, manipulative, towards women. Um. And you
(37:10):
know you made fun of him having a podcast and
you thought he was there for just the wrong reasons.
Do you think in hindsight a lot of it was
coming out of jealousy or you still stand behind like
the fact. No, I just think I was so emotional
during that period time period, and I was so like
emotionally invested in Patia, and you know, I was very
sleep deprived, and I just think I let that get
(37:33):
the best of me. Um again, like what you just
said that, I think that was pure emotion, um, you know,
not really based in fact. I was just I think
at the time, I was just really annoyed that I
didn't think he was taking his relationship with Demi seriously,
Like it just didn't really. I think collectively, we you know,
the group thought like it just wasn't like a real thing.
You know, it just kind of seemed like a fun thing.
(37:54):
And I was I was very serious about Tatia, and
I think I was just kind of at the end
of my rope at that point. I get it. I
totally get it. If you and Derek found yourself in
the same room today, how do you imagine it going down. Look,
he's I think he's a really he's a really talented guy.
I mean he's the senior VP of a like a
fin tech startup. Uh, you know, I'd like to see
(38:16):
him shake his hand and you know, put the whole
thing aside. I hope he's doing well. You know, he's
a good dude. It's just it's just unfortunate what happened. Uh.
You know, I was just overly entranced with this woman,
and um, I just let my emotions get the best
of me at the time. If you guys do find
yourself in the same room, would you probably will, because
in this bachelor family, you tend to find yourself in
(38:40):
the same places. I want you to go up and
say that to him. I want to know how he responds,
because we asked him the same question this past weekend
and he seemed like he just would kind of pretend
like you weren't there. Oh hey, but I want you
to try that. Yeah. Sure. I mean, if I ever
find myself in the same room, I'll say hi, Derek.
If you're listening. I hope you're doing well. Man. Uh,
(39:02):
didn't mean anything by the whole Bachelor in Paradise interaction.
You is you in a public apology to Crystal and
Chris after the whole scene at their wedding. Why did
you make it a public apology? Why didn't you just
get their number? Yeah, that's a good question because I
think so many people running the impression that I was
(39:23):
intentionally trying to steal the attention from their wedding, and
I just I didn't even like consider the fact that
I was at a wedding at the time, because we
were on TV. What I mean, I think people's problem
was that you didn't consider that it was at a wedding.
I don't think people thought that you did it on
purpose to get attention. Again, completely blinded by my emotions
(39:44):
at the time, just my guard was down. You know,
I would sleep deprived. I went for a mile swim
that morning. Uh you know I did. Yeah, we're dangerous,
but it was it was fun and I was actually
supposed to do a half iron Man during Paradise. I
was competing with one of my buddies at work, and
so I wanted to stay in good shape in case,
you know, he wanted to do one afterwards, and so anyway,
I was point being completely exhausted. Guard was down. You know,
(40:08):
the stakes were high in terms of my feelings for
this woman, and I just let my emotions get the
best of me. Would you say that bachelor experiences perhaps
are not for you because you do kind of get
too emotional in those moments. I mean, look, um, I'm
really grateful for the experience, and I learned a lot
in the process. I didn't think I could find my
(40:29):
breaking point on what I thought was a silly reality
show at the time. Um, but after having gone through
the experience, I definitely have to, you know, think more
deeply about ever doing it again. In September, you said
that you would never do Paradise again. How do you
feel a couple of months removed. Yeah, I think I'd
(40:50):
really have to think about it. Okay, So you're not
crossing it off, right, Okay, I don't think. I don't
think you should cross it off. Ever. Again, I think
i'd really I really really like what I'm doing right now,
and again I think i'd really have to think about it.
I think that a lot of people would want to
(41:11):
see you back, and I know I don't know, but
I am quite certain that you'll be getting a call
from producers in a couple of months to see if
you're interested. Well, we'll cross that bridge when it gets there.
Now that you've been a little bit more entrenched in
post bachelor life, do you feel like you understand and
relate to the lifestyle that Derek was talking about that
day when you overheard him or do you still feel
(41:33):
like what you overheard him hearing that day was inappropriate? No? No, no, Um,
you know, I mean I I can relate to it
to an extent because you know, I mean, Bachelor Nation
fans are amazing. But you know you're putting some weird
situations and people like totally throw themselves at you. So
you know, I definitely can relate to it a little more. Alright,
good answers, John, We have a little game now before
(41:55):
we go and interview Robbie Hayes and he gets the heat. Man,
But before he gets the heat, you're going to get
more heat. But now it's not with questions, it's with
hot sauce. Give me a brace. So everybody fell in
love with you when you started when when you started
throwing up basically after having too much hot sauce. Has
(42:17):
this always been a problem with you? I just have
a really sensitive stomach, and at the time Jane gave
me those hot tacos. I think I was just under
the gun because I felt so uncomfortable being on the
set of Paradise, and so I think it was a
little bit of my stomach sensitivity, you know, sort of drinking.
Probably I didn't really drink that. Ye, like we're just
(42:39):
running around drunk all the time. It's like, may be surprised,
We're just this foolish without it. It's just the emotion.
The steaks and the emotions are high, and that's all
it is. Um. But yeah, I know I just had
a really sensitive stomach and I was really anxious at
the time. Like James a super nice girl. She I
think she's awesome, but I was kind of thrown off
by the fact that you want to eat was with
(43:00):
me after, you know, kind of giving the indicator that
right right, right, Okay, So we're going to have you
have a bite of taco with chill lula on it,
and you know, you could just make your if you
could make your reaction to it as vocal as possible.
Would you like me to our listening audience? Okay, that's
(43:20):
a lot. First, gonna eat one in front of you guys, like, yeah, yeah,
this is kind of a circus trick, all right, justin
casey barbs. We're holding two trash cans. But I'm not
gonna this is Chilula. I mean, you can drink this
stuff and be fine. Mm hmm. It's a proper taco. Yeah,
(43:41):
it's from Oh yeah, you like it that? Yeah, chi Lula.
Why don't you guys get what you wanted? Is that good? Yeah?
John takes well to chilulaturned. We are not entertained yet.
So how do you feel about taracha? Sorry, we're just
going through the different Yes, yes, you are okay one
(44:03):
of course. Yeah? Who are you? You're supposed to go
on the wing challenge show? Is it called Hot Wings? Yeah?
I would love to see you on Hot Wings. You
wouldn't be able to speak though. All right, He's going
to take a bite of the saracha taco. He enjoyed
the cholula. Interesting, wo saracha in the mouth. Mm hmm. Sweet,
(44:27):
It's very sweet, tanging leaves you wanting to eat more
of it. Do you have saracha in your fridge at home?
I feel like everybody has it. It's like a stable.
It's like having ustard and catch up exactly, except it's
much more dynamic. You can put it on anything pasta,
you know, macaroni and cheese. Yeah, and literally anything, literally anything.
Saracha is compatible with any food. I agree. You can
(44:49):
kick up every fire that has great chemistry. Sauce you're
going to have here on air is eighteen forty nine,
hab narrow. Are you ready? Oh gosh you okay? That's good?
Jeez you waterfall that out? Oh my gosh, holy how man?
(45:11):
All right? So far? Jabe tolerated the spice quite well. Alright,
last last one a M. I suppose you'd be amused
if I poked after this, it would be it would
be good. It would be good content. Thank you. I'm
not gonna do it. Are you comfortable throwing up? Though
(45:32):
it seemed like you're quite comfortable with throwing up on
the show. I was. I was. One moment you're just
having a conversation. The next moment you're about to throw up.
And for me, it's like a whole hour of being like,
oh my god, it's gonna happen. It's gonna happen, and
I set myself out and just stick your finger down
your throat. It's much better. Just get it over with,
all right, it's not bad. Let's try. Didn't get me.
(45:56):
I'm not going to be here today. Sorry, not sorry
about it. Well, thanks for being a good sport j
J JPJ TH. Thank you so much, Ashley. That was
a great time. This is a great time. So now
we're going to have Robbie Hayes and his new crew
with C S t Ke come on and we'll wrap
up the show. Well terrific. Sounds great, thank you, But
(46:19):
first we're gonna take a break. All right. We got
Bachelor alum Robbie Hayes and two of the lovely ladies
that join him on this season of CS t KEY.
It's the third season and it premiered alright, so you guys,
(46:43):
it's definitely not too late to catch up on the
show and start watching it. If you like juicy dating
reality TV, it's on MTV and it's probably going to
appeal to you. So Robbie, we're going to start out
with you since you are our batch. You know you're
you're our bachelor here, this is a bachelor podcast. Why
(47:04):
did you choose to doc has a key? Um? You know,
I was falling for a girl, and um in doing that,
she has a TV show that she's been, you know,
kind of the lead roll on for two seasons already.
And that was coming about right kind of right when
we were kicking things off around stagecoach time and said,
why not scout there and do it? Who was this girl?
Is she in the room with us? Juliette? All right?
(47:27):
This is Juliet across the room from Robbie, which makes
me wonder I was placed here? Are you no longer
falling in love with her? We are out of love?
Out of love? Okay? Currently? And how did you guys meet? Initially?
I started working with Kelsey through my Kelsey Kelsey Owens. Okay,
(47:48):
she's also on the show. She is not here right now.
She is not the other lady in the room. Yeah,
act as if we all have never watched the show before.
Kelsey Owens, who is now Juliet's roommate, was a model
from my digital media agency, and we went out to
Thailand in January and then uh them too, Kelsey and
Juliette came out to Stagecoach, Oh, the Stagecoach drama. It
(48:10):
seems like it was okay, you met there and like
it was like love at first stage conteymoon phase started
and just kept going. So that's what encouraged you to
go on another reality show. How was it different than
The Bachelor as far as like production goes as you
feel like, did you did you feel like there was
a difference since you're being on dating on one show
(48:31):
with danting on another. A big difference, you know, it's
it's I got to be a part of something bigger,
and not bigger in the sense of a production capacity
or ratings wise, but bigger in the fact that I
got to show my journey, whereas when I was on
The Bachelorette, I was a part of Joe Joe's journey
to find love. So it's more like Paradise less because
that's still you know, all you're seeing is going on
(48:54):
dates and and talking and trying to woo someone. This
like they brought Rebella My Company into it, so you
get to see me work on a day or you
get to see me do go on a date and
try to fall in love, So there's more capacity to
myself as far as a character that I get to show. Okay,
so you're saying you're like the lead, you're like the
main character. Hardly you're sitting next to Madison Hobsburg. You
(49:16):
guys are sitting together. Does this mean that you're in
love now? Uh No. Actually we barely interacted this season,
but we came in with similar situations lation ships that
were going to be an uphill. Let's be real. Madison
did not like him. Yes, so, um, I think we
(49:37):
all other than Juliette and Kelsey, were very skeptical of Robbie.
Um it's no secret. This is his third fourth reality show,
fourth fourth thank you. Um. So yeah, we're like, is
he here for the right reasons? Um? You know? Or
is this just another opportunity to be cloud chasing? Do
(49:59):
you think that Robbie loves being on camera? Yeah? For sure.
Why if I loved it as much as you're saying
I would have, I'd be down there film and right.
All right, that's true, Um, but I don't know. I mean,
I think he's a businessman too. This is an opportunity
for him to bring not just his love life, his
business to the forefront. And who wouldn't take that opportunity.
(50:24):
I'm not blaming him, but I'm also looking out for
my friend Juliet, who you know. I want her to
find a good relationship because in the past seasons it's
been a little And in the business part of it
was was eye opening for me because I mean, you know,
I former competitive swimmer. That's not my job title normal
social media influencer. So this then being able to like
(50:47):
actually like promote what I'm doing a life changing digital
media explain that last veig we put more eyes on
brand's products in hopes of a bigger r O. I okay,
that makes sense to me. Um, you guys, you guys
are do you guys agree that he's a villain of
the season, like the way that the teaser is making
(51:08):
it look? Um, I don't agree he was a villain
because he didn't do any villainous things towards me, but
he definitely had some questionable decisions that came about that
made him look like a villain in the eyes of others. Also,
look like this is he's coming in as like a
new character. We're already established, We already have a fan
(51:28):
base that Madison and I have known each other since
we were like fifteen, where it's like Robbie's brand new,
so that new character is always going be right exactly.
So yeah, it is easier for him to be disliked
than people who are already you know. Also, the shows
like more in our point of view, and it is
very much through the eyes of the girls on the show. Um,
(51:49):
so yeah, I agree that they did kind of make
it look like I was coming in as a villain.
But when you deal with the show with such high
level drama like this, you know you have to start
off at one very drastic into the spectrum to surprise
the viewers at the end with what it leads to. Right,
You're not going to give them the answer in the
first episode. You make them wonder is he really like this?
(52:10):
And then he'll do something to show do you think
he does Robbie. Robbie gives off this very perfect persona,
which I think people think is fake Kendall. I think
that's what has always been on The Bachelor Friends. Yeah,
well he also is like that on cs KEY, and
I think everyone else doesn't believe it. They think it's
(52:31):
very fake and they think that he's just using me
or whatever they say. But you know you'll have to
see ye. So something that you found out Juliet a
couple of weeks ago was that Robbie had a sex tape?
Oh my god, yeah, what Robbie want to elaborate on that?
I mean, well, what do you want to know? I mean,
(52:53):
I don't really want to know anything. But since we're
on this topic, wait, do you really have a sex
tape with someone who's married? She's not married, and there's,
as far as I know, no sex tape, but there
is there is a threat of one coming out exactly.
So to backtrack a bit, Todd Chris Lee, if you
guys know from the Chrislies show, um, you may have
(53:15):
had a little romance with his daughter Lindsay you and
Josh Murray there's been okay, so are you confirming that
there was a little romance between her and I? Yes,
I can confirm that. But between Josh, I I don't know.
And was she married at the time. She's still married? No,
she would well I guess yes, she was still married,
but she is going through the divorce papers and was
finishing filling them out. The thing was like, it was
(53:36):
right around the week of when we started talking okay,
and so you made a sex tape with her right away?
This is you, guys, This is Juliette speaking to robbing language.
Iuely interested. I think you know how the sex tape
came about. I actually I don't remember. Well, we didn't
make one. You didn't make one. We were having consensual
(53:57):
alone sexy time, and a pup camera caught us in
the living room like a furbo. Three months later, her
best friend pulled the footage because she got in a
fight with her and was like, hey, I'm holding this
over your head and then sold it to her dad. Okay, okay, fair.
So there's like a lot of intermingling of reality TV
drama here, but the sex tape is not something that
(54:17):
we will see the unfold on CSK. No way. Okay,
But Juliet did that learning that turn you off from
Robbi even more? Like it worse? Gotcha? All right? Well,
you guys, is there anything that you think you can
say right now to a Bachelor viewing audience to get
(54:39):
them to watch c S t key if they don't already.
It's like The Bachelor in a very different setting. But
if you like romance and breakups and heartbreak and people
doing bad things. Also, I think then watch the skate
the Bachelor lums love to date each other, right, so
in our group, it's just like a smaller pool just
(55:00):
stating each other. It's like literally drama. Yeah, yeah, so
it gets, it gets kind of. It's rough. Robbiebody, how
do you feel? You know what? I didn't know that
I could expect more drama than the season of the Bachelor.
And we did it. Oh yeah, we did it. My
last question is, like, you guys just mentioned that there's
(55:20):
like kind of as a Key family where the way
there is a Bachelor family. Was it weird for you
going from one reality TV family to another one? And
is that what you think created some tension when you
first entered the cast. I don't even think I'm to
this day a part of this Key family. I'm really welcomed. Yeah.
And when and when we broke up, it was like,
(55:41):
by gotta go. I love the girls that I'm with.
I love Kelsey, I love Jake Garrett, it's just the
other ones. There's there's not going to be a friendship there.
It's pointless to try to dive into it. Okay, so
you're you're done after the season, we'll see okay. Al right, well,
when can we watch c STKE Tuesday night at eight
p m. Eastern Time? All right, thank you, Robbie Medicine
(56:05):
and Juliet. All right, well, next week's Bachelor episode looks juicy,
you know, tears, tears, tears. The season long preview looks dramatic,
of course, most dramatic season never. I don't know. They
haven't been teasing it like that, so prop possibly not.
(56:27):
I have to say, there's one little thing that we
must discuss about the teaser before we leave. You seem
very enthused by that. Peter not only hears from Chris
Harrison like this big breaking news, but then after that moment,
we see him lying on a bed with like ice
(56:48):
on his head talking about how he feels like he's
gonna faint. Mm hmm. Do you think that has to
do with the final rose? I have no, but you do.
I don't. Again, we've learned that Pete has a hard
time saying no to people. Maybe maybe maybe everyone's coming
after him and he's just having a hard time handling
the rejection. All right, well, you guys send your thoughts
(57:12):
about what you think. Chris Harrison tells him at that
podium and what he possibly might faint over. Email your
thoughts to Ben and Ashley at iHeart media dot com,
and of course write up all your theories on the
message boards. We read them all right. Love you guys.
