(00:00):
All right, let's rock hit recordhere. I gotta tell you right now,
Uh, this guy is fun tocatch up with because I actually catch
up more about not music than actuallyactually, dude, life is good.
I gotta ask. Uh, you'reno stranger to the whole number one journey
and here we are knocking on thedoor all over again. Is it still

(00:21):
exciting after all this time for you? Uh? Yeah, I mean,
well we always do this this radioday, you know what I mean,
anytime that gets on the schedule,it's good news. Yeah, what does
the know? What does the firstnumber one mean for you to to potentially
another one now in your career?Well, the first number one for me,
you know, it's kind of like, you know, every new artist

(00:44):
wants a new new number or Ican't talk first number one. Yeah,
and then like now it's to thepoint where I just want, you know,
to keep adding songs to my tomy playlist and eventually get to those
Al Dean number one, Luke Bryannumber one numbers. Well, because you
know, you just brought up twoguys that sell out everywhere they go.
Kane Brown sells out pretty much everywhereyou go. At this point now in

(01:06):
your career, right, you're playingthe biggest rooms in the buildings that you've
played your whole career. But thoseguys also have bars on Broadway. Is
that ever an aspiration for Kane Brown? I can't. I don't know if
I can actually talk about it,Okay, but there might be something all
right, somewhere down the line.We would love to see Kane Brown on
Broadway, But not like playing.I mean, you could play, but

(01:27):
like I want to see your nameon the wall. My guy, is
all I'm saying. Take me throughthe process of because a lot of us
don't know how. We know thata writing session becomes a song, once
it's recorded, becomes an album, but what's the journey on, like making
sure you're picking the right song's careerwise, because you're to the point now

(01:47):
where you're established, people know yourname in multiple formats. One of my
favorite quotes I've heard you say morethan once is you're the DJ Calida country
music with all the means. AndI heard I heard you say with us,
but I heard you talk to somebodyelse. I'm like, you need
to print the T shirt with that. But the process of putting a song
together, to making sure it's theright one for right now in your career.

(02:07):
How do you know that that that'sthe right step. Is it a
gut thing or oh yeah, Imean my whole career, I've followed my
gut. But also I think Ithink it just comes with time in the
business and then you eventually learn yoursound, what your fans gravitate towards,
and what's a good song for you. Is there a song that you were

(02:28):
surprised that people react to? Arelike, maybe you put it out and
you're like, we're just gonna putit out. The label feels strong,
my wife feels strong about I'll putit out. But it has connected and
you're like, damn, I didn'tthink it would. Yeah, I've had
a couple of them, like Ididn't want what Is to go to radio,
which is a huge song for meand then bury Me in Georgia.

(02:49):
I wanted it to go at first, and then I really thought about it
and I was like, who isgoing to relate to this song that's not
from because I mean, could Iget really specific like Chattanooga past the Exit
in Georgia, I'm like, who'sgonna like this song? And once it
went it was like, I thinkthis was like one of my highest research
songs or whatever. So it's sogood man, I love it. It

(03:12):
was it was cool just to knowthat it was doing like that well.
And you say, like, who'sgoing to relate to? It's funny because
I'm originally from Minnesota and my son, if we're driving and whatever, songs
on and like if it talks likebury me in Georgia, I'm like,
bury me in soda, like Minnesota, and he's like that's not the word.
Stop changing the words. I'm liketrying to be relatable. Get out
of here. H Do you knowwhat you want to do next? Single
wise, I have two. Ihave one that's really fun put off this

(03:38):
project, no no new music, okay um. And then the other one's
just a very well written song,but it's like more it's a ballad,
but it'll make you I mean it'llmake you cry. Okay. Is that
Does that mean it's like parent related, like being a dad. No,
it's basically like I was just umtelling them in there it's it's a song,

(04:00):
but I grew up without a fatherfigure or anything, so it's you
know, it's like I think youmight relate to. I don't know,
but it's why do I have aheartwoot car park to my driveway while I'm
up on not online playing some videogames, like why I put on a
pair of Jordans and think I couldbe like Mike basically just saying I had
to be a man. I hadI had to grow up and be a
man, so I never got tobe a boy. That's I relate to

(04:24):
that more than you know, morethan you know. I uh, that's
guy, I have goosebumps. You'regonna have to send it over swicking here.
Uh so, what's the plan?Do you still celebrate number ones the
way you used to? Is itstill like art? Is it like,
hey, nope, we wake upthe next day. I've noticed I get
to the point now where it's justlike, depending on the writers that are
on the song, you know,I I celebrate with them. Um.

(04:45):
A lot of the people I've beenworking with recently are new writers. I
just got I think two people theirfirst number ones, and then one Mississippi.
I got a guy's first number one. So that's what I'm focused on.
And you bring that up. Wetalked one mississipp and it was literally
a guy. I remember the storywhen we caught up. You had said
that the dude wasn't from here, but he pulled up in a van with

(05:06):
a like everybody he's ever met inhis whole life, dropping him off or
something like that in Nashville. Areyou still working closely with him because you
signed him to your publishing company, right, Yeah, he's still on our
pube company and he's still writing.I haven't got any rights with him,
but I mean he's still in Nashville. When it comes to working with somebody

(05:27):
like that who's never done it before, and you mentioned got a couple of
writers or first number ones, howimportant is that to you to bring people
along? Because you're doing great byyourself, and I mean it's nice to
work with people, but like you'reto the point where you probably don't have
to as much as you did inthe beginning. What does it mean to
you to bring people along on theride? It means the world to me
because I you know, I don'thopefully never forget that, so I get

(05:49):
to you know, just be apart of their life and helped them out
along the way. You know, hopefully it leads to more number ones and
gets their names out and things likethat. Uh, I would be disrespectful
to say Kane Brown doesn't get enoughdowntime. But do you feel you do
get enough downtime? I mean, because all you do is work. It

(06:10):
feels like, yeah, well mydepression. Man, if I get too
much downtime, it's bad. SoI feel like I get there just a
perfect amount and that and that downtimeisn't necessarily like I mean, because not
that being a dad is a job. It's like a privilege, right,
But at the same time, youstill need Kane no, man, I
mean our lives great about that.Like if I say, babe and game

(06:31):
a little bit. She don't careif I want to go golf or whatever.
She's she's great at it. Uhyou know, just she's a great
wife. Is she ever? Likelet me let me hand me the controller?
Somebody how this works? I wish? Nah. She used to play
Pope g with me. Oh yeah, she played. We played one day
and she got so into it.Uh. So she was downstairs and we

(06:53):
were talking and she was having aball and then I said, Babe,
are you hungry? She said yeah. I said, what do you think
it is right now? And shedidn't realize it. We've been playing for
six hours and so I was like, it's it's dinner Bay. So we
ordered pizza and when we kept playingand I was like one of the funniest
times I've ever had with her.And then I woke up the next morning
and I felt like she was cheatingon me because she was playing with my

(07:15):
friend. And I was like, what is going on or not? And
then I switched out. So whenI switched to call the duty, she
just gave up. She's like, now you left her, she cheated and
he left moved on to a differentgame. What's the rest of the year
look like for Kane Brown? Becausenow you confirmed there is some new music
in the works. Whatever we're gettingnext is something that isn't available now,

(07:36):
So what's the plan on? Idon't need a date or anything, but
like, what's the plan on whenwe're gonna hear something like that? Um?
Are you thinking album? Are youthinking EP? Right now? We're
just focused on single, but wehave a lot of music that we have
recorded. I think we got sevensongs that we've that we've got UM and
then I just you know, I'llbe down in Florida coming up, so

(07:57):
we have writers coming down there,so we had to get in the studio
because we didn't we didn't think thesong was gonna move this fast, so
we had to do it went quick. Yeah, so we just we jumped
in. We already record Monday forthe song that I think is gonna be
my single. Um, but it'scompletely done. I just gotta put my
vocals on it and the lakes andmaster and it's ready to go. We're

(08:18):
looking forward to September. You're headingto Vegas for the Guy Heart Radio Music
Festival. This has become a differenttype of festival because literally from the second
to lightscolo until the pyro hits atthe end of the night, I mean,
it's superstar after superstar, and it'severy genre, right, I mean,
Kelly Clarkson's going to be there,a little Wayne's gonna be there,

(08:39):
a Kane Brown Low Wayne collab soundslike Ane song right right? What does
it mean for you to look atyour name and see literally the only people
that are on the bill right nowthat are representing country music. Cheryl Crow
has got some country cuts out, obviously, Kelly Clarkson started more country than
pop, Tim mcgrawan, Kane Brown, Like that's what did you ever think

(09:01):
that. Obviously, you hope thatyour name is in lights in every city
in the world when you get intothis. But did you ever think that
you'd be sharing the stage, sharingthe show, sharing the building with Tim
McGraw. No, I mean wedid. We did a pre Super Bowl
party way back when. But that'sthat's about it. So are we on
the same night? Yeah, sick, that's gonna be awesome. Might I

(09:24):
might see if I can sing?I like it. I love it was
him. Well, listen, thisis where collapse can be born. I'm
just saying, we know people, you know, people send some texts,
send some messages, make it happen. What does a show like that mean
for you as a fan? Though? To know that all these genres over
two nights, take over this onestage. I think it's awesome because I
already, you know, I alreadydo this, Like I'm all over,

(09:46):
you know, genre, So Ijust love I feel like it's like,
I mean, there's gonna be someout there that, you know, I
don't like country music. I getin a fight with those people, but
uh yeah, it's gonna be funand hopefully we can win them over and
turn them into country music. Plusis Vegas blackjack at the end of the
night. Am I right? That'sdangerous too. And there's another thing I
can't. I got you. Ican set you up gambling on your phone

(10:09):
right now. Let's all right,Well, we gotta wrap things up.
Kane Brown, thanks for hanging brother. Yea, all right, we'll go shoot
