Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey fam, Hello Sunshine.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Today on the bright Side, it's Friday, which means we're
popping off and dishing on all the biggest pop culture
moments of the week. Joining us is TV host, beauty
and lifestyle influencer, founder of Rapublicuskin and my friend Julie
so Bermudez.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
It's Friday, July twelfth. I'm Simone Boyce and I'm Danielle Robe.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
This is the bright Side from Hello Sunshine, a daily
show where we come together to share women's stories, to laugh,
learn and brighten your day.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
It's Friday, y'all. We made it.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
I've got the Friday feels.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Yes, me too, Danielle. We are dishing on all of
the pop culture stories that everyone has been talking about
this week, including a wedding dress controversy and a less
celebrity who says she's leaving Hollywood for good, plus one
of the biggest, most epic photoshop fails of all time.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Okay, but before we get into it all, we want
to spotlight our face moment of the Week, brought to
you by our friends at BMW.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
As always, we can't get enough of women's sports, especially
women's basketball, and the regular season is off to a hot, hot,
hot start, y'all, and this week's spotlight is going to
an all around MVP, Asia Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces,
who just made history.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Ooh, that is right. Asia Wilson just became the Vegas
franchises all time leading scorer when she scored twenty eight
points in their win against the Dallas Wings this week,
bringing her total number of points to an incredible four thousand,
three hundred and one points.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
And this is not the first time Asia has made headlines.
In twenty eighteen, she was the first overall draft pick.
She is a two time WNBA MVP and she's been
averaging twenty seven points a game this season. Plus she's
a top contender for a third MVP title. Later this month,
we will all be rooting for her in the Olympic
Games in Paris.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
I cannot wait to watch her play with the Olympic team.
They have all star players locked in. Asia says this
moment has meant the world to her and she's so
grateful to share it with her teammates. I love the sisterhood,
So Asia, huge congratulations. Okay, we have pop culture Royalty
in the house today. Julisa Bermudez is known for her
(02:20):
time on one oh six in Park, the reality show
Empire Girls, and she has her own beauty line, Rapublica Skin.
She's really all the things. I mean, we all grew
up watching Julisa, so I feel really lucky to call
her a friend. She's such a girls girl, and as
magnificent as she is on TV, she's equally so in
real life. So when you catch her on your TV,
(02:43):
you're gonna see her talking to every celebrity. I mean,
she even did an interview with Beyonce. But if you
check out her ig and her TikTok, she has the
best beauty tips you could ever want. So let's bring
my girl Julisa in Julie. Welcome to the bright Side.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Oh my gosh, goal goals, goals. When getting introduced, Thank
you so much. I'm fully blushing.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Hi ladies, Hello Julisa. I've heard so much about you.
We're so excited to have you on the show.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
I'm so excited to be here, Julisa. Do you remember
how we met?
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (03:16):
I don't remember.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
I feel like we kind of would have like interaction
I think on ig.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Yes, yeah, and then we finally got introduced by a
mutual friend, and then we became better friend than the
person that introduced us.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
It's funny how that happened. Yeah, yeah, I know. Well
I will tell you ju Lisa is way more fun
than me. So I really try and keep up if
we go to dinner or a night out, but you
just you got the New York flair. I can't keep up.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Oh my goodness, Listen, I am way too turned up
for my own good sometimes.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Now you're the life of the party, like everybody congregates
around you when you're out.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Honestly, if you're gonna go outside, bring the energy, because
otherwise stay home.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
I was at dinner with you, Lisa one time. We
were at Isabelle in West Hollywood, and she saw that
it was somebody's birthday. She'd never met these people before,
they were strangers, and she's like, let's send them shots.
Happy birthday to you. I'm like, wait, I think eat
shot is like fourteen bucks. She's like, no, come on,
in s their birthday.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
I'm also that meme that by the end of the
weekend you check your account, You're like, what happened anything somebody? Right?
Speaker 2 (04:25):
I love it? Well, you're a fashion and beauty guru.
Oh wow, did you come by that naturally or how
did you get into that because you were doing celebrity interviews.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Yes, well, it's really crazy because I grew up such
a tomboy. I have the older brothers, and I kind
of found my way in the beauty space just from
being in makeup chairs, hair and makeup and not always
having a budget and not wanting to say no to opportunities.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
I'm like, Okay, I got to figure this out for myself.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
So fast forward to just literally having to figure it
out when you have an opportunity to interview somebody or
go on a red carpet, And that's kind of where
the love and passion stems from.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Julisa, what's up in pop culture right now? What's on
your radar?
Speaker 1 (05:07):
All the things be all ready to pop off? Yes,
let's do it. Okay, First up, it's time to talk movies, ladies,
girder loins. It turns out that's not all for The
Devil Wears Prada, because it was announced just this week
that the original cast, director, and writer are in talks
for a sequel, and the Internet lost its mind when
(05:28):
this story broke. I am so excited about this. I
am mostly excited about the fact that we're getting the
original band back together. I mean, that is what is
key whenever we have these sequels come about. So I'm
curious to hear your initial thoughts, Julisa, I know that
you actually posted about this on your socials. What's your reaction.
(05:48):
I did a.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Poll because I was really curious to know if my
followers are just as excited and if people are.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Like yay or nay or not another one.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
You know, there's that but there gen excited And someone responded,
which I think is the same sentiment.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
I was like, you know what, that's a really good point.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Better to have the sequel rather than the remake, because
honestly agreed that movie. There is nothing to change about
it or remake about it.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
It is a perfect movie. It's a perfect film.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
So I have a hot take about the original. Tell
me what you guys think, And I'm wondering if they're
going to change it up for this next one. So
everybody thinks that Meryl Streep is the devil in the movie, right,
like she's the devil that wears Prada. I think that
Adrian Grenier Grenier, however you pronounce his last name. The boyfriend.
Anne Hathaway's boyfriend is the real devil. He was like
(06:43):
kind of squashing her ambition. He wasn't supportive. He was like,
you're kind of getting too big for your breitches.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
He wasn't you never seen I know Prada?
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Okay, I guess you're right.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
He's just a different devil. I actually think that was
justified because she was losing herself in this job. She
was becoming someone that she was not, and she was
focusing on the wrong things and.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
It was part of her growth journey. She had to
go through it to get out of it.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
And is it also accurate when it comes to if
you you know, have ever spoken to people that are
in the fashion industry, Like they say, it is very
similar to that movie, right, it's spot on.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
It's yeah, do.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
You love this movie enough to like go to the premiere,
like see it the first weekend it comes out that
type of thing.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Yes, I would go see it in theaters. Yeah, for sure.
I'm curious what they're gonna do with Miranda Priestley, Like
is she are they going to ad just like that her?
Like is she going to have a podcast? Now? Kind
of like Carrie Bradshaw does because obviously a lot of
time has passed, so she's probably still going to be
working in media, but I would be surprised if she
was still the editor in chief of Runway magazine. I'll
(07:51):
be curious to see how they play that. And is
it really eighteen years? Is that?
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Is that what they said?
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Yeah, eighteen years, eighteen years? It was Oh no, that
we're really aging.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
That's so crazy.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Our producer just told us, if you were born that year,
you can vote. That is really goeth before to.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Get up again.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Well. In addition to the Devil Wears Pradac, it was
also just announced that another Shrek sequel is in the works,
with the original stars returning, including Cameron Diaz, who has
been on her own little hiatus away from acting, so
we love that for her. The Shrek films still hold up.
I just watched them in the theater with my kids,
and they're still just as funny as they were whenever
(08:33):
they originally came out, probably eighteen years ago at least.
What I love about these movies is that there's something
for the adults as well, Like the kids don't always
get the jokes because they go over their head, but
the adults, the moms and dads, are like, they get it,
We're in on the joke. So I'm totally here for
another Shrek sequel as well.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Definitely I feel like that movie and that Shrek in general.
It was one of the first times that as an adult,
I watched a movie and thought the same thing someone like,
wait a minute, that joke.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
That was not for the kids.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
So I love that, And I love Cameron Diaz back
on screen, well at least.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Her voice or I know she kind of stopped laughing.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
But I celebrate that. I think we tend to look
at celebrities or someone who's so well established, like Cameron
Diaz with this incredible career, and we're like, why would
she ever leave that behind? But you know what, she
gets to pivot, just like the rest of us. Maybe
she realized that it wasn't fulfilling her on a soul level,
you know, and she wanted to pursue something else.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
So I mean, it's a lot easier to when you're
getting twenty a movie, I'd be like bye.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Also, movie sets are grind, like people say, like they're
eighteen hour days. So once you make a certain amount
of money, if your heart's not really in it. She
went and made like an organic wine line.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
She's good, exactly.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Yeah, And I think that she left or took her hiatus.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
At the top.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
She wasn't, yes, kind of just all of a sudden
now doing just streamers or I mean, she's a big.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Box office a star when she stepped away.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
So that's a good point. She didn't, Michael Jordan it
and fake us out and come back right.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
We're having so much fun with you, Julisa, but we
do need to hit pause on Popping Off for a
quick break, So don't go anywhere, y'all. We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
And we're back to Popping Off with Julisa Bermudez. Okay.
Next up, Kim Kardashian is making news this week. She
makes news every week, but my surprising, right, but this
time she's getting a boost from some A list stars.
So it was announced that Kim is starring in a
new legal series from Ryan Murphy and Hulu called All's Fair.
And I have to admit I've been watching the new
(10:53):
Kardashian show on Hulu. It's so embarrassing. I don't know
why I watched, but I can't stop watching nothing ever
happen shot so beautifully too, and I love seeing the
makeup and what they're wearing. Anyways, this show is going
to be all about an all female legal firm, and
Ryan Murphy calls it quote high end, glossy and sexy,
an adult procedural. It's sort of giving Allie McBeal vas.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Yeah, and Kim.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Is going to play a lawyer, which is what I
think everybody's excited for. Here's what really tripped me up.
There are a list stars in this cast. Halle Berry
and Glenn Close just signed on. The reason this caught
my eye is that for years, even though Kim has
several established businesses, she's made tons of money, She's becoming
(11:38):
an attorney, she's a mother, she's a very accredited person,
and yet nobody really takes her seriously. Still, it still
gives reality star vibes. But maybe the tides are turning.
Halle Berry and Glenn Close, like, do you think this
is a change up.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
I think that Ryan Murphy absolutely loves Kim. I think
that people are embracing her and actually having her role
on American Horstory right.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
And I think that she's one of those people that
clearly is relentless and whatever she needs to do to
prove wrong.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
Oh, whatever anyone is saying.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
About it, She's like, yeah, please hold watch this. Yes,
so this isn't any different in that sense. And in
that regard, I wonder if halle Berry and Glenn Close
knew before they sign on and then they're like, oh,
and by the way, Kim garda Ashian's also going to
be co starring with you.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
I mean, no.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Shade, but yeah, that's acting as a whole other beast
when you're alongside that kind of cast.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Well, the reality is whether you think that Kim is
a fountain of natural born talent or not. She's someone
who always draws a lot of cultural interest and better
believe that Ryan Murphy and the executives at Hulu are
well aware of that, and also the actor who signed
on to this are aware of that too. I have
(13:02):
a feeling that they knew who was going to be
in the cast before they signed on.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
The only thing is like, when you're an actor like
Glenn Close or halle Berry, like you are an actor,
like they have studied this, they've it's a craft. It's
a craft, right, And like we have three TV hosts here.
I know how we all feel when there's like a
big network show that happens and two hosts are hired
and it's like some reality star and a celebrity, and
(13:26):
we're like, hey, we've been doing this for twenty years, Like,
you can't just hire somebody who hasn't studied this. They
may make it look easy, but it's not. It's a craft.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
But they do it all day, every day. Girl.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
I went from interviewing Snooky in the situation, so basically
them taking my job, not taking them, but them getting hired.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
But is this cut to me? The number feels like that,
Like I'm like, Glenn Close, I don't know if you
should be doing a Kim.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
Kardashian show, Halle Barr.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
I mean, these are Oscar winning women, right, I'm pretty
sure Glenn Close, she's got to have an Oscar.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Someone should if she doesn't, Right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
I mean I get you, trust and believe listen, there's
a TikToker somewhere over there taking all our jobs.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
It is a paycheck at the end of the day,
and Glenn Close and Halle Berry want that paycheck. I'm
sure they are happy to have the opportunity to work.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
I think they also want to be in the mix,
you know, I want to be talking about and at
the end of the day, to Simone's point, Kim is on,
You're gonna hear about whatever she's doing.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
So yeah, yeah, Well, while Kim may be stepping into
a new spotlight, apparently Ellen DeGeneres is walking completely out
of it, y'all. So, the former talk show host has
been doing a series of stand up appearances as she's
prepping for a new Netflix special, and in this new special,
she's rumored to be talking about her career and addressing
(14:46):
the whole controversy around the end of her talk show,
those rumors that she's actually a mean girl. Well, in
a recent comedy appearance, Ellen addressed a couple of fan
questions about her future, and when asked what's coming next
for her, Ellen said, this is the last time that
we're gonna see her. Basically, she said she's going to
address all the things that were said about her, and
then after that she is washing her hands clean of Hollywood.
(15:09):
She says, that's it, She's done with fame. Do we
believe her? Was anybody checking for her?
Speaker 4 (15:16):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
I just this is really funny to me actually, and
the fact that it's like, hey, guys, I'm here to
let you know that I'm actually gonna disappear.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
But here's what I want to.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Address all the things, Like, no, if you have to
announce that you're disappearing, you're not actually disappearing. That part.
I don't believe you. You're going to be coming back
at some point, Like you're drawing so much attention to
yourself by just announcing that you're going away instead.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
Of just going away.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
I think it would have been more effective that way too,
Like if she just literally ghosted everyone yeah and uh
the world and then just came out of nowhere when
people were asking like, oh, by the way, have you
heard Yeah, maybe she just got it. She really feels
the need to get some things off her chest and
address all the things and move on.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Ellen is always a tough one for me because what
have you done for me lately? In Hollywood is very alive.
So in the last few years we think about Ellen
as a person who had sort of a toxic workplace.
Her show ended sort of abruptly because of that. But
if you go back twenty years, Ellen's story is actually
so important to culture and pop culture totally trailblazing, like
(16:29):
she made waves in the LGBTQ community and helped, I think,
open people's hearts and minds in a lot of ways.
And so it's tough for me to see her in
this light because I remember her more so, as you said,
a trailblazer.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
And do you think that it was.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
I don't know about you, guys, but when you first
heard about the things that they were saying, wasn't it
kind of like now I don't want to believe that.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
No, wait, not Ellen, Yep, there's no way. I still
don't want to believe it, to be honest. I mean,
she brought so much to so many people on that show.
I remember, you know, starting the show with her dancing
and then faking us out like she was gonna sit down,
then she just kept dancing. I mean, Twitch came from
that show. He was such a source of positivity and
joy for so many people too. I still struggle with
(17:15):
this one, like I've I've always been an Ellen fan,
and it is really hard for me to get over
this cognitive dissonance of, you know, not wanting to believe
that these rumors are true.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
One of the other issues is that her show was
about kindness. And so when your show is about a value,
people want you to live up to those values, Like
we don't expect Howard Stern to be really kind Like
that's not what he's telling you his show is about, right,
So it was tough that she wasn't living it.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Oh and nowadays, especially because it's the most overused word,
I'm going to use her right.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Now, that authenticity is.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
If that's not there, people have a they're gonna feel
some way about it.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Okay, Julisa, it's time to take another short break.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Stay with us, and we're back with Pop Culture Royalty.
Julisa Brimdez.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Okay, guys, next up is the one that we've all
been waiting for. This is the one we all want
to chat about. Olivia Culpel, the former Miss USA and
reality star, has been getting a ton of criticism online
about her wedding dress. So I'm gonna give you a
little background in her recent wedding with forty nine ers
running back Christian McCaffrey. The two look like Barbie and
(18:31):
Ken by the way, but Olivia wore a custom Dulce
and Goabona gown that had this really high neckline and
long sleeves and in tangent with the wedding. She did
a Vogue interviewer feature and she said something along the
lines of like, I really wanted my dress to be
modest because I wanted to take my nuptials, take my
marriage really seriously and convey that. And people online were like, uh,
(18:56):
what is being sexy have to do with taking your
marriage seriously? So things blew up. TikTokers started saying wild
things online. I guess my overarching question first of all,
is like, is it okay to criticize somebody's wedding? It
feels so personal.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
I mean, she's put it out there, so I mean,
is it okay? I don't know if it's not okay
if you're putting it out there, I mean bombarding us
with it all. We've seen the whole thing, from the
engagement to the bachelor parties to the I mean every
(19:33):
single step of the way. She's brought us along on
her journey, so and including the wedding, every little bit
of it. So I think that whenever you do that,
it just automatically opens it up for people to have
their opinions and feel like they can freely speak about
it because you're inviting us essentially into everything that you're
showing us.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
That's true. All I'm thinking about is this was a
summer wedding. Like how hot she must have been in books, right,
it must have been so hot, But.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
It was Rhode Island. I don't know if it was
that hot. There's a breeze for sure by the ocean.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
Like nobody is spared these days with climate change. I
don't know. I have to say, like I was a
bit surprised by this because it's not like she rocks
modesty fashion on the regular. But good for her. If
this is how she chooses to walk into this next
chapter of her life, great. I think what's cool is
you know, the modesty fashion industry is a three hundred
(20:34):
billion dollar industry around the world, so maybe a lot
of women around the world are seeing themselves represented in
both how she chose to dress and the philosophy behind it.
So good for her.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
But she she showed up in some sexy outfits for
the party portion of her wedding, and by the way,
her wedding dress actually reminded me a little bit of
the dress that she won when she was crowned to
Miss Universe.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Whoh.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
The red dress that she wore was long sleeves. You're right,
similar neckline, very covered up, and the woman is stunning.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
Let's be very clear.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
With a face card like that, you can pretty much
wear anything and you're still gonna look amazing.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Yeah, it's also just a classic silhouette, like the long sleeves,
the high neckline. It's classic. It's timeless. She's gonna look
back at the pictures from her wedding twenty years from
now and know that this was a timeless. Look. It's
not like she's gonna cringe looking back at this. Right.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
There's this thing though online I see it with content
creators about filming all like all this content for your wedding,
Like they're making tons of money off of filming their wedding.
People are hiring social media producers just for the wedding
so that they can turn content quickly post it night
of the next day, And brands are sponsoring weddings like
(21:56):
it's becoming an industry. That part of it. Yeah, I
guess we like seeing people's weddings. I want to be
a voyeur, but also it feels kind of icky to me, like,
enjoy your wedding enjoy the moment.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
I mean, weddings are expensive at the end of the day, Danielle, So.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Wait, are you saying that you're gonna get married sponsored
by Tampax?
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Like?
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Are you okay with that?
Speaker 4 (22:17):
That?
Speaker 1 (22:18):
That's a lot.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
But let me tell you something. The minute there's a
ring on this finger and I feel like it's really happening,
I'm definitely going down the list of So okay, spanks,
What else.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Am I gonna need that day?
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Yeah, and a lot of the times, honestly, weddings I've
never been married, but they say that it goes by
in a blip, and you do all this planning and
you spend all this money, and essentially sometimes I've whatever
heard is that it doesn't even feel like, you know,
you got to fully enjoy because you're like in bliss
(22:56):
and everyone you do the wedding for everyone else. So
you know what if everyone else is leaving with a
sponsored biddie bag, Oh.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Well, yeah, so be it. What do you think, Simone,
The weddings today have gotten so out of control. Looking back,
I spent a lot of money on my wedding. I
got married like thirteen years ago. Everything is relative, but
I think about like what I have put that money
into a down payment on a house and done a
more modest, low key wedding. Absolutely, I think the way
(23:26):
that weddings are trending these days, the expenditure, the expectation.
Let's be honest, Like Olivia Colpo look beautiful, great, this
is not relatable for most people, like the scale of
what she's doing. What you were talking about, Danielle, people
hiring social media producers. You really don't need all of this,
like to get married and to express your love to someone,
(23:48):
like it's about the commitment of marriage. And so let's
just I just want to take a moment to bring
things back down to earth and say that this is
not quite relatable to the masses.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
Let me tell you though, Sofia Richie full on mad
to comeback because she got married yep, and in the
most unrelatable way.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
She got married in the south of France.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
At Hotel du cap yes whatever it's called.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
But then also on the flip side, in a also
very weird way, made her super relatable on TikTok as well,
and like her get ready with me, I mean it.
It brought her back in the spotlight in her own way.
You know before we just kind of saw.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Her as Scott to six ex girl exactly.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
So it works for some. And weddings have just become
way more expensive ever since COVID.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
Also, so there's that. Okay, So Olivia Coppo wore a
beautiful long sleeve gown at her wedding. Perhaps on our
honeymoon she might be rocky and bikini, who knows. We
also need to talk about someone else who appeared in
a bikini on social media recently, Teresa Judice and her
photoshop failed me. I hope, I hope you guys saw this,
(24:58):
and I hope all of our brideside besties have seen this. Two.
If you haven't, press pause right now, go look it
up and then come back and join the conversation. So,
long story short, Teresa Judice had a pretty epic photoshop fail.
She took to Instagram recently to share a post wishing
her friend Larsa Pippen happy birthday. But the picture that
(25:19):
she posted was so obviously photo shopped to look like
the two were on a beach, only they weren't on
a beach.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
So the way she told the story was that she
was panicking and she really wanted to say happy birthday Larsa,
because oh my gosh, like, how.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
The world would be over if she didn't do that right.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
So she was scrambling, is what she was saying, and
she hits up her social media person slash assistant that
handles all the things for her when it comes to
her social media. And the response to the assistant was, oh,
but I'm in Mexico. So she's like, okay, fine, we'll
take a picture of the beach and then put me
and Larsa on that beach.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
And that's what happened. Apparently, allegedly that's what happened.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
But I just have many questions about is this person
still on her team because that's social media person slash
assistant that if that's your job, that was not a
great job.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
So I think the best part of this story is
actually how the Internet responded, Oh, this is why I
love the Internet and the creativity of people. So other
fans started editing the two of them into different backgrounds.
They're at the pyramids, like the Pyramids in Egypt, the
Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Towers, name a few,
and so they're pictured in bikinis against these backdrops and
(26:38):
for obvious reasons they just don't match up. And Teresa
is actually in on the joke like she's she's embracing it,
and she even reposted some of the fan edits to
her Instagram stories.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
I mean, the internet is undefeated. How can you not read?
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Truly so good?
Speaker 2 (26:53):
And the Real Housewives love a moment like they know
how to laugh at themselves, but they're not like the
first people to do this. I remember a year or
two ago Aubrey o Day if you remember her, Yeahing
the band. She edited herself into all these exotic locations, like.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
On the Bali Swing.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Yes, and her response was, I'm making art, So I
don't know. I mean, as like all these apps get
better and better, I feel like we're gonna see more
weird photoshops.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
I'm gonna start photoshopping myself in places that I'm trying
to go because manifestation is real. Right, yeah, so when
y'all see me in all these places where.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
In Rome? Right, I've been doing social media all wrong?
Who knew it could be this easy? All you need
is an assistant on a beach in Mexico and then
you're good. You can just you can be wherever.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
You want We've had some major photoshop fails from some
big celebrities.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
You guys don't remember the.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Time that Beyonce was called out when the curtains behind
her had a little way.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
To the Mara way.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Oh, the face tune days, The face tune days. Or
how about Kim Kardashian photoshopped like a different kid into
a Disney photo. She took her kid out, put Chloe's
daughter in or something. The internet caught that. People catch everything.
I don't know why people keep doing this, like the
internet is going to catch you.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
The level of investigating that the internet does is just
as wild.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
