An amateur, dysfunctional team steals the score of a lifetime - a teleportation device. Except what they believed to be mechanical turned out to be biological instead. What are they to do with this unexpected addition to their crew?
Bzzzzzzz! Bzzzzzzz! Bzzzzzzz! All these damn alarms. Our crew finds them whenever they set their sights on something that's not for them, but what's a thief to do when there are things to steal in this world?
In a hypercapitalist system, long, long away, a newly (dis)organized trio obtains intel on a startup manufacturing a teleportation device. Even though galactic war seems to be brewing and increasingly likely, what fuels our team is their next meal or job. 'Crime and Capital' is the name of this galactic game, but sometimes mistakes can turn into opportunities. After learning the secrets ...
Time crystal sugar, Anti-Boson spice, and anything universally nice. A mixture of quantum states and nanoparticles created something all scientists desire - a magnum opus. However, what's a scientist to do when his experimental (and expensive!) homunculi project is stolen and off galavanting through the stars (and evading the police)?
Watson sets up a meeting with an old friend for an arms deal - but lo' and behold, he doesn't have them. However, with a clue and a location, the crew sets up for their first job with their newest crewmate.
After their first heist with their newest crew member goes successfully, the team learns of a faraway attack on a cruiser ship. Usually, they leave such matters alone but this time someone that they 'knew' was on the ship! A new job is set into motion for the crew. This time on a time limit.
The crew's forced to split up to save Alice from a grizzly, acidic death in a remote planet and break Peter out of jail before he's forced into a terrorist cell. Still reeling from her screwup, Artemis isn't confident in her ability to go anywhere but the captain ordered it so Piper will make it work... even if that means giving an experiment some chemicals.
With the crew's newly gained notoriety within the cosmos - their escapades have grabbed the attention of the rebel alliance; an anti-union, warring libertarian factor. With this being their first political job, how will the crew and more importantly, the world react to a new player in the space race.
A successful hit was had and a political obstacle was eliminated. With the crew newly named and on the political chessboard, Watson is looking to go out and do more. However, with the stench of water and death in the air, Artemis has had enough and is unwilling to work on any more jobs!
The crew finds themselves spilt from one another after Artemis drunkenly teleports away, leaving Watson behind with an old friend whom has some interesting information about an industry being created under the shadow of the company behind Artemis' construction.
The crew's vacation is finished but are they really rested up? Well, it doesn't matter as Watson is summoned by the Virgo for past crimes relating to an ongoing investigation, leaving the team in deep space alone.
With their ship defenseless in space, the crew try to figure out a plan to save their lost captain; who's still in the hands of the Virgo Union. However, before they get anywhere - Risa decides to give them a call and update them on a 'war' job. Maybe this is their big break?
The Final Job... or it will be if the team succeeds with their most important task yet. Easy peasy. With a pre-war game ritual, the crew's as ready as they'll ever be for one last job. Not like there's enough time to think about anything.
