After calling a snap-election in late-March, Mark Carney’s gamble has paid off, as the country remained Liberal Red following Monday’s election. An even bigger victory for Canada’s next leader is that his party almost claimed a slim majority, but they will gladly take a strong minority as the NDP loses party status and Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre tries to find a back door into the House of Commons. On Friday, Carney held his first press conference since Monday's results rolled in, announcing his gameplan for the coming weeks and months.
