Speaker 2 (00:00):
Hey man Bros.
Speaker 1 (00:01):
Up from the Civic Center and the Pangle Pavilion is
with us to preview a lot of great musical acts
coming downtown Limo this spring and summer.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Abe, good to see you again, Hey, good to see
you too. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Let's start with some of the things happening that really
are our year to year with the cross performance all
at the Civic Center, because we'll see it being very
busy now with like dance recitals and graduations right right.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Yeah, So if you're downtown right now every weekend, you're
going to see a lot of foot traffic, a lot
of people coming through. It's always kind of funny because
I think people assume there's not anything going on at
the Civic Center right now because we don't have shows
that we're selling. We aren't doing in that same way now.
We do sell tickets for a lot of these dance
recitals they bother take us through our website, but it's
(00:51):
just a little bit different. But yeah, we're extremely busy
right now. Now until early June, we have six different
dance companies the whole their recitals with us in three
schools that hold their graduations and in addition to a
concert mixed in there with the Dare concert and then
another concert also with our Limei Aria Concert Band. So
(01:11):
it's a it's a very busy time. We've got a
lot of things happening and we love to see it.
The energy that these kids bring to have that opportunity
to dance on the stage there and cross Performance Hall,
or those students that are getting to walk and graduate
and that do that in our building.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
It's it's it's a special time for a lot of people.
The schools, is it.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
I think Shawnee does their yes, shawneeh And this weekend
is road State College.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
The Road State Okay, got you.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
So it'll be a busy time around the Civic Center,
even though these aren't publicly sold shows.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
As you were mentioning. But when we look ahead more
to summer.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Proper here after Memorial Day, right, let's talk about what's
going on because the the Amphitheater, Pankele Pavilion now in
year number two full time or is this the third year?
Speaker 3 (01:58):
This is the second full season. Yeah, we did an
opening weekend and a couple of years ago right in
twenty three, correct and on and our biggest concert that
year that had over seventeen hundred people was Ian Munsig
and we're bring Ian back this year on June seventh,
So really excited about that. Ian has has a song
that's really rising on the charts right now that he
(02:19):
performs with Landy Wilson, and you know, really excited to
have him, have him back in this area. Expect another
big crowd there on June seventh. Really excited about it.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
You know, it's interesting you bring a guy like him,
and I remember promoting it then the opening weekend. Of
course Al Jardine was part of that too, but Ian
is an up and comer. Do you find that those
acts remember some of the places that brought him in
when they maybe weren't as big and they have like
an affinity fondness for the place we certainly hope.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
So, you know, it's, uh, it's funny because that's that's
something that if you if you read our Facebook comments,
there's always there's always a comment of why don't you
you know books one of those performers who's up and coming. Sure, well,
the agents think that all of their artists are up
and coming in and knowing which ones are truly going
to be, you know, going to do that can be challenging.
(03:07):
But with Ian, you know, we had some good local
connections with him. He's he's married to a family you know,
from this area, and uh so we were able to
tap into that. And he's got a fondness for this
area because of it being his wife's home area. And
so that, on top of the fact that we had
a big crowd for him the last time he was here,
has him excited.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
To return, no doubt. That's awesome.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
And of course booking acts and getting it just right
is much more in art than the science. Yeah, for sure,
it's not like we just fill in the dots. But
before we go on, you wanted to talk about ticketing
for the pavilion, right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
So this summer a lot of the promoters are doing
things a little bit different than what we did last summer.
Last summer is pretty much one tier of tickets. It
was ga come in you know, you know, get in
there early to get you, you know, the best seat you could.
This year, a couple of our shows, Ian Munsick is
one of them, and the other one is Chris Young.
They're doing three tiers. So we're gonna have barricades in
place to divide out those sections that you can, you know,
(04:07):
really make sure without having to get there an hour before,
you can make sure that you're getting in that better
section by buying the higher price ticket. And for those two,
they actually both want party pits. Both Chris Young and
Ian Munsick really want right in front of the stout
stage to be people up dancing, having a good time.
So those areas are called the party pit and the
party pit. No chairs allowed. They want you in there standing,
(04:30):
dancing and having a good time. And for both of
those shows, the party pit also has a dedicated line
and or service area for refreshments too. So got you
pay a little higher price to be upfront, But that's
kind of true for most shows, no doubt. And we're
trying to also help you out by giving you a
dedicated line for refreshments.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Yeah great.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
A Van Bros Is with us from the Civic Center
and Pangle Pavilion and information tickets for any of these shows.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
We want to make sure people go to your website. Yes,
always go to Lineatciviccenter dot com. We have links there
for shows at Pangles, so it'll take you to Pangle
Pavilion dot com. But the best way to go is
just limacific centa dot com. You can see all the
shows that we have both in Cross Performance Hall or
at Pangle or sometimes in our Exhibit Hall where we
have events that are sold on our ticket platform too.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Don't use the third party stuff. Don't just search you know,
whatever the act is, because you'll you'll probably pay way
too much. Exactly so, Ian Munsik on June seventh, and
then less than a week later on the twelfth, well man,
tell you what I'm gonna be rocking out.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Docin Docin is coming on June twelve with George Lynch.
That's that's big too, because that doesn't happen. That hasn't
happened for every dock In show, and that hasn't happened,
you know, in some time, truly see and George Lynch
is widely considered one of the one of the premier guitarists,
especially that eighties rock music. And to have that show,
to have docking with George Lynch is a big deal.
(05:53):
So really happy to have that one coming in here.
It's going to be loud at Pangle and then and
looking forward to that one for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
And then June twentieth, you mentioned this guy a little
bit earlier, Chris Young, give me his profile, you.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Know, big, big name and country. You know, he's had
quite a few hits. Was in the area a few
years ago for the premiere concert out at the Fairgrounds
and to have him come back here and play Pangle
where you know, he draws three thousand plus for all
of his shows, So our capacity out there is just
under four thousand for these shows the way we have
them sold, and really expecting to have a really crowded
(06:29):
park in downtown line of for Chris Young. Excited about
that for sure.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Yeah, that's June twentieth, and then the next night a
will have his bejeweled glove on his left hand, right.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Yeah, you don't want me trying to do any of
those dance moves. My back especially doesn't want me to
try anyone.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
The MJ Live show, this is the premiere Michael Jackson
tribute show touring the country, gets rave reviews, has it's
just it's an incredible performance of Michael Jackson and if
you are a fan of his music, you will have
a fantastic time at that concert.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
So that June twenty and twenty one, I assume that's Friday,
Saturday or is that a Saturday Sunday.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Friday Saturday, Friday Saturday.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Okay, so the next weekend then on June twenty seventh,
do you have a Rush tribute?
Speaker 2 (07:14):
But this is inside at this at Civic Center.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Yeah, we still have two venues, actually more than two
when you count the Exhibit Hall, et cetera. But we
still have two venues and some of these performers, some
of the promoters, et cetera, perform an indoor venue over
an outdoor venue even in the summer. And so Cross
Performance Hall will be hosting a Rush Tribute in Cross
Hall on June twenty seventh. And really, you know, it's
(07:38):
kind of fun, you know, for us, for me and
for our staff to be looking at this summer and
having events in both venues and.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Working through that.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
It's also stressful and tiring, not gonna lie, but we're
excited about it, you know, to show off our abilities
and what we can do for our community Abyan Bros.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
As well as from the Civic Center and Pangle Pavilion,
and to round out the summer our offerings here for
this go around July tenth, we're going to rock it
out again Slaughter and Aldo Nova.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Yeah, it's another great rock and show. It's uh, you know,
there's there's some great fans of Slaughter. As soon as
that one was announced, we had a lot of buzz,
a lot of people really excited to be coming out
there for that one. We had some We've had some
good rocking shows out at Pangle and this summer to
have several more coming.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Slaughter is just another example of that and another another
good one there. But definitely keep your eyes on our
website and all of our social media because we have
another show that is potentially being confirmed, but I don't
have that confirmation yet to add to the season, and
we do have a couple of other shows after that
July tenth date as well, So follow us on social
(08:42):
you know, get into our website, check out what we
all have to offer. And then a lot more coming
in the fall and winter and Cross Hall as well,
and and our Broadway season is going to be getting
announced here in a couple of weeks as well. So
all kinds of things happening, and we we love to
be that center of entertainment for our community.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Yeah, it's lineus Civiccenter dot com. Always go there for
info and especially to buy your tickets, whether it's indoors
at Krouse or outdoors at the Amphitheater Pangle Pavilion.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Abe. Good to see you again.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Looks like a summer full of great music. Appreciate you
stopping by.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Absolutely thanks for having me
