Tommy (SUHSLOW) is back on the podcast to talk about how he's been healing from a crash that drastically changed his life. Tommy and I have the age old debate about women and men who ride motorcycles at the race track.
There are many things that go into negative experiences on track and from what I've heard, some women seem to think it's because they are female. Is that true? Listen to Monki Moto Pod and share your thou...
Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association's 2025 Race Series second round (CVMA R3) took place at Chuckwalla Raceway on Dec 6 and 7, running counter clockwise and was preceded by Friday practice, which was staffed and run by Apex Assasins.
This round, we saw dramatic crashes, close racing and PRs for many in the paddock. I’ve gathered a group of racers to recap their weekend on the podcast. Evan Lutz, Tyler Crozier, Jo...
I was genuinely caught off guard when a message from a listener hit my inbox recommending a potential guest for the pod — a Massachusetts-based law firm, DiBella Law. From out here in California, it’s not every day the Monki Moto Pod gets attention from the East Coast. When I heard he also has a podcast and interviewed people with motorcycle associations in MA and New Hampshire, I had to investigate.
Chris DiBella advocates for his...

When summer rolls around, you can probably find my guest, Lucas Cantarelli, out at sea, searching for blue-fin tuna. It's one of the ocean's most challenging fish to spear, which is why Lucas likes to hunt them so much. He grew up fishing with his dad, both in the USA and Brazil. He later learned to ride with his dad then went racing.
In the winter, Lucas is back in the saddle at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway, chasing lap times ...
This is the second time I've been ran into at a track in SoCal. This time I was rear ended in the bowl (T9) at Streets of Willow. Could have been much worse!
Here's an update: I'm ok, nothing broken. Bike needs some minor parts. Hospital bill to deal with and some feelings about how my track weekend ended early.
While I was crashing, I felt disappointed. I don't know if I'll get to ride this track again. It's...
Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association's 2025 Race Series second round (CVMA R2) took place at Chuckwalla Raceway on Nov 1 and 2, running counter clockwise and was preceded by Friday practice, which was staffed and run by Apex Assasins.
This round, Moto America pros joined after their season completed, some theatrical races, podium finishes, and a few helicopter exits.
Life is unpredictable, and for most, that means chaos. The future is uncertain, and it's hard to know exactly what you'll need to make your life easier.
For Ian Tam, being ready for anything is a science: Anticipate, Pack, Do. Repeat. From VW Bus "van-life" adventures to prepping for a race weekend, Ian knows how to stay calm and prepare for the road ahead. He kept his family safe and was ahead of the evacuation du...
About two years ago, I got a RMZ250 for dirt riding. I raced it at Glen Helen and learned what a bummer it is to race and have to kick start a bike. So I did what every silly person would do: converted it to a supermoto.
I was curious to race, maybe hooligan or supermoto. So when I finally had a weekend available and saw Supermoto Championship in Bakersfield had an event, I signed up immediately! I was unprepared and a bit scare...
Hey all, a racer recap is coming in to a HOT PIT near you (here!)
I talk with Lucas Cantarelli, Brian Hull, John Pecson, Evan Lutz, and Chad Lewin to get the racer recap from their perspectives. Each with interesting points about the track and their approach to racing. I ask them all one same question: WOULD YOU RATHER....(_____?)
So tune in, share with your friends who like racing, and find out what each racer would rather do.
Thanks...
Many deserve penalties. Some penalized deserve forgiveness. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out judgement...
I bring back trusted personal defense attorney, Scott Adrian, to discuss the case he outlined in his last Monki Moto Pod episode over a year ago. The verdict = WIN.
Other than that particular large case, he's started a new law firm to handle only traffic tickets, appeared in a Netflix show, Love C...
Rochelle tells the story of her amazing solo moto trip to Alaska and I listen in like a grandchild who is promised a handful of candy.
Find out how her encounters with a border guard, a Russian man, a pirate, an adopted family, and a saint who saved her from bears made the journey so much better than just a road trip.
Each meeting wasn’t just a quirky roadside story — it was a reminder of how the road tests you, surprises you, and u...

Friends who play together stay together, right? We started riding for different reasons, but have all come to like dirt biking. From street riding to track riding and now dirt bike riding, are we just motorcyclists on a mission to play all day anywhere?
I talk with Aaron and Mark to find out how a decade of friendship made it to dirt bike riding.
Thank you for supporting Monki Moto...

Mark and I join forces for conversation hour with the purpose of talking about motorcycle maintenance. We go on a few (many) tangents covering how TikTok ruined the online experience, people who might have trouble finding the keyhole in a car, and why Alaskans plug their cars in outside.
Koko joins us for her debut.

It's a dangerous business, going out your door. The first ride onto tarmac, and if you don't keep your traction, there's no knowing where you might be swept... so an old Hobbit might say to someone trying a track day for the first time.
Matt LaPaglia is one of the Compact Octane Track Day Org leaders. His long time experience working within the motorcycle industry helped put him in a pace to give back to the Southern CA motorcycle c...
It's a surprise when a guest who I have never met in person or talked with extensively before coming on the show has so much in common with my own life experiences. So it is no surprise that we talked for two hours!
