Five minutes after the hour, GoodMorning and Welcome Show five thousand and thirty
three of The Morning Show with PrestonScott Day one thousand and seven of America
held hostage that, ladies and gentlemen, is Grant Allen. I'm Preston Scott.
(00:37):
Tuesday, October twenty fourth. Moreon that date in just a few
moments. Good to be with youthis morning. As we do, we
start with some scripture. First,John three sixteen through twenty four says this.
This is how we know what loveis. Jesus laid down his life
(01:02):
for us, and we ought tolay down our lives for our brothers and
sisters. If anyone has material possessionsand sees a brother or sister in need
and has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in
that person? Dear children, letus not love with words or speech,
but with actions and in truth.Come back to that. This is how
(01:27):
we know that we belong to thetruth, and how we set our hearts
at rest in His presence. Ifour hearts condemn us, we know that
God is greater than our hearts andhe knows everything. Dear friends, If
our hearts do not condemn us.We have confidence before God and receive from
him anything we ask because we keephis commands and do what pleases him.
(01:53):
And this is his command. Tobelieve in the name of his son,
Jesus Christ, and to love oneanother as he commanded us. The one
who keeps God's commands lives in himand he in them. And this is
how we know that He lives inus. We know it by the spirit
He gave us. I want tofocus on a couple things here. If
(02:13):
you have material possessions and sees abrother or sister in need and have no
pity on them, how can thelove of God be in that person?
So, dear children, let usnot love with words or speech, but
with actions and in truth. Thisis where discernment comes in. When you
see people that are asking for moneyon the side of a road, you
(02:38):
have to just trust your heart whatthe Holy Spirit's telling you about that,
because I am of the opinion thatmany, not all, but many are
just simply not willing to work, and so you're really hurting them by enabling
(03:04):
them to continue this pattern. Othertimes you might feel moved to help somebody,
I encourage you to go park, get out of your car, go
chat with that person, if that'swhat you feel led to do. I
(03:25):
think sometimes we have this habit of, well, let's just throw a five
at him from the street corner. And I don't First it's unsafe to that
person, to you to traffic,But also I don't know that you're really
helping somebody. You smoke in aheater and he's spending how much on a
(03:46):
cart and a SIGs by handing themoney. But that's just me. I
know that we have a responsibility tosee things around us as best we can
with the humanity that gets in theway with the eyes of Christ. And
(04:14):
I can't help. But you know, remember that Jesus meant needs, but
he also spoke truth. He wouldsay, here you go, now,
don't do this anymore. First Johnthree sixteen through twenty four. How we
(04:36):
begin here today? Come back withthe American Patriots Almanac today. A lot
of stories in the press box,ton of them we get. I don't
know how I'm gonna get through themall. Got Andrew Chervil or Chervel,
(04:58):
Florida Voice for the un Born. You know that constitutional amendment in Ohio to
put abortion in the constitution. Well, there's an effort to do the same
thing here in Florida, and we'regoing to talk about it. Third hour.
Stephen Padfield with us from the FreeEnterprise Project. Can't believe the businesses
(05:19):
supporting groups that are supporting the terroristsof Hamas lots to do today, Stay
with us. Good show at waitshere in the Morning Show with Preston Scott.
And this is the Morning Show withPreston Scott. Twelve minutes past Morning
(05:50):
Show. Hello friend, Take apeek inside the American Patriots Almanac here seventeen
eighty one in Philly Congress, here'sa report that the American victory at Yorktown
has taken place. You know whatCongress did? What? What do you
(06:13):
think Congress did in response to hearingof the win at Yorktown. Thanked Almighty
God. They went to church. They didn't just stop right there. They
went to church. What a bunchof theocratic fascists? How dare they mustering
(06:34):
up his best sarcasm, ladies andgentlemen. At six twelve in the morning
on East Eastern time, coming outfireing today eighteen thirty six, Alonzo Phillips
of Springfield, mass receives a patentfor safety matches like the just like that?
(06:57):
Huh? I thought that was prettygood. Yeah, yeah, that
is pretty good, not bad.Eighteen sixty one, The Take two eighteen
sixty one, the first trans continentaltelegraph message is sent from San Francisco to
President Lincoln in Washington. Nineteen ohone, sixty three year old school teacher
(07:21):
named Anna Edson Taylor becomes the firstdaredevil to go over No Niagara falls in
a barrel. I just want topause for a second. I've seen those
videos right, lot of people goingover, like the early ones. Does
it make you just kind of uh? Because it was because it was so
(07:46):
long ago. No, Now,if I were to watch someone do it
now, I'd probably why Why thedifference? I don't know, Maybe because
it was one hundred years ago,you know, like the old Warner Brothers
cartoons Bunch of Maroons. I,yes, it doesn't. Yeah, I'm
just now I'm watching a historical film, and so it's in my historical part
of the brain rather than like thethe I don't know what part of the
(08:09):
brain I would put, which isI mean, just think about the a
school teacher, ostensibly an educated soul, educating other little souls, right,
and what possessed her to come tothis conclusion. I just I wish I
could be in the room when thatdiscussion takes place with her closest friends and
(08:30):
family. You know, I feelas though I might enclose myself in a
whiskey barrel. And if you don'tmind, watch, would you jennison me
into the Niagara River? Please?Pray? Tell Lass, why are you
doing this? Daughter? Why?I think I wanted to go over it?
(08:56):
Well? All right, it Ijust I can't get my brain around
that level of daring. Do Idon't know? I just school teacher nineteen
oh one, sixty three, sixtythree, So much for wisdom. Nineteen
(09:20):
forty, the forty hour work weekgoes into effect under the Fair Labor Standards
Act of nineteen thirty eight. Sothat's where the forty hour work week started.
You know, what did you say? Nineteen thirty eight, that's when
it passed, and then it wentinto effect in nineteen forty. That's so
crazy to me that, like mygrandpa was born in thirty six. Yeah,
(09:46):
so like ostensibly he wouldn't remember this, no, but he was on
this earth my claim he did,Yeah, he might claim, but he
was on this earth. Gorsh beforeany of like just what we consider normal
now, before that even happened. So like he lived in a time when
(10:07):
prayer was in school, forty hourwork week didn't exist yet. Party phone
lines, yeah, if they hadphones or whatever the heck they had in
the thirties. But like, that'sso crazy to me that the things that
we just assume to be normal now, uh huh didn't used to be.
It's so wild. And on thisdate in twenty twenty two, sir,
(10:33):
twenty twenty two. Last year,uh huh. The new I wrote this
one. I added to it.I added to the American Patriots Almanac with
my hand. The New York SupremeCourt rules that the JAB did not stop
the spread of COVID nineteen and reinstatesworkers with backpay. Couldn't help yourself,
(10:54):
could you? No? I couldnot. Seventeen minutes after the hour It's
the Morning Show with Preston Scott, twenty two minutes past the hour of the
(11:20):
Morning Show. This is not chortally. Michigan State football is having a low
season. Their head coach Mel Tucker. What would be the best way to
(11:45):
put it embroiled in a little controversy? Was it on campus, off campus?
What's he he's accused of some whatsomething? I mean, what has
mel Tucker been accused of that wouldcaused the university to remove him from his
post for cause? I can't evenremember what the reason was. Was he
(12:13):
watching the wrong television programs? Washe, you know, harassing? Was
assistance? Was it a sexual harassment? I don't know, I'm I don't
know what. Yeah, mel Tucker'sattorney, Michigan State doesn't have cause to
fire suspending coach over something. Okay, so they're struggling as a team.
(12:46):
Their head coach got yanked just relativelyright before the season, right, I
mean, I thought it was midseason, But either way, he's not
there. Yeah. No, I'mpretty sure he was pulled pretty quickly.
I don't know that he's coached togame this year. They might, I'm
not sure, but at any rate, they're two and five, zero and
(13:07):
FOURIGN Conference. I go to thewebsite, not making this up, Grant.
At the bottom of the Michigan Statewebsite, on the football page,
it says Farm Bureau Insurance Meet melTucker. It's got a meet Meltucker banner
(13:28):
popping up. Yikes. But thenthere's this the season just got really long
for Michigan State. Multiple images onsocial media circulated Saturday showing an image of
(13:50):
Adolph Hitler on the stadium's largest scoreboard. Oh yeah, I saw that,
alongside of trivia question about his birthplace. Yeah, Michigan State said the scoreboard
content came from a third party source, which the school will no longer use.
The timestamp on the scoreboard shows theimage appeared eighty minutes before kickoff.
(14:13):
Now less you think, well, nobody saw that. No, there are
people in the stadium two hours beforeand even before that. But they're rolling
out stuff. At Michigan State. They put up trivia questions to help pass
the time. At Florida State, they blow up your ear drums. But
(14:33):
at Michigan State they they put triviaquestions out, and this one apparently put
a picture of Adolf Hitler and askedsomething like where was he born? Yeah,
it was what is the country ofbirth? The correct answer is Austria.
(14:56):
By the way, Yeah, getto what really matters, Preston Loser,
Where was he born? I justI mean, can you imagine you're
at You're at a football game, you're just nailing. You're in the booster
section having a hot dog mine furorpops up on the screen. You're like,
(15:20):
what the freak is going on here? Now? You're really in trouble.
If you noticed around the stadium somepeople snapping their heels and throwing their
hand out. All of a sudden, everyone's arms start going up for some
reason. I don't know why helives. He lives. Oh my goodness,
gracious, someone's gonna SoundBite this andcapture us saying this. It's just
(15:46):
whatever. I don't care, it'sI mean, we we all know that
this was just the people that gotfired now from this, that provide the
service. They're out there going, hey, we just sold them a packet.
Man. You know, it's justa bunch of trivia questions, not
on us. You know, it'sa trivia question. What do you want
(16:06):
to do? Well, I meanit's it does the package offer you know
Ted Bundy's birthplace. I'm just curious, you know, I mean, because
it came with images as well.Yeah, they threw the image on the
scoreboard, right, So like yougotta know, like if you're the graphics
team, well you're the intern instadium. I don't know, should we
(16:30):
be showing this there's a guy witha funny mustache. Yeah, I think
I've seen this guy before, butit could have just been a TikTok video.
I don't know. Bad season goesreally bad now for MSU. Welcome
to the Morning Show with Preston Scott. Well, they're gonna try again Sporting
(17:03):
Show on Preston Scott. That isGrant Allen and the big Stories in the
press box, brought you by CustomCare Dry Cleaning. We're gonna go just
ankle deep this time around. Justget to the stories, get them on
your radar. Nine am today,an anonymous secret ballot. They're not gonna
(17:26):
pick a speaker at nine am.What they're gonna do is they're gonna find
out who's got the most support. There are nine Republicans vying for the list.
The names you want to know TomEmmer, he's the Majority Whip Conference
Chair Vice Chair, Mike Johnson,GOP Policy Committee Chair Gary Palmer, Republicans
(17:49):
Study Committee Chair Kevin Hearn. Thenthere's Representative Byron Donalds. Those are the
names you need to know. Accordingto US Congressman Matt Gates, all nine
have promised that they will release allof the January sixth video from the Capitol
(18:11):
that they will make it all public, just telling him. There will be
a special session. Salmuzo said ityesterday and it's going to happen November sixth
four day session. Sanctions against Iran, support for Israel, added security for
(18:32):
Jewish institutions in Florida. They'll alsotake up hurricane relief, property insurance,
and more money for special needs students. So that's what the special session will
be about. Today, jury's selectioncontinues. The trial expected to begin tomorrow
(18:53):
for Charlie Aedelson. We will havedaily updates with Karen Ciphers, who is
reporting as well for Florida Politics, and Carl Steinbeck ironic name, former prosecutor
and defense attorney. Following the trial, the two of them will tag team
(19:15):
and we will have coverage at sevenpoint thirty five every morning until the trial
ends. So we'll find out whathappened the day before. A little ten
minute update at seven thirty five Easternsix thirty five Central Trial of Charlie Adelson
and the murder of Dan Markel.Yes, this warrants it. I didn't
(19:37):
do it for the other trials. This is the ones the Adelson family.
This is what matters we need towe need to see accountability here. Democratic
Mayor Mariol Muriel Sorry Bowser of Washingtond C has changed her mind on defunding
the police and all of that. She said, the citizens have spoken.
(20:02):
Crime is skyrocketing and we have todo something. It's common sense, and
so they will be they will beproviding a little more help to law enforcement
as opposed to hindering. And thenthere's this an off duty Alaska Airlines pilot
(20:25):
on a flight operated by Horizon Airfrom Everett, Washington to San Francisco.
He's in the jump seat, somy guess is he was getting a courtesy
flight. He tried to shut offthe engines of the flight in mid flight.
(20:45):
He has been arrested more than eightycounts of attempted murder. Wow,
those are the big stories in thepress box. Preston Scott Boy, that
escalated quickly. I mean, thatreally got out of hand fast on WFLA.
(21:11):
It's a it's a loose expression thatmillions have used over the years.
I would kill for a pint ofblank and blank ice cream, or I
would kill for a pep Beroni pizza, whatever, right. I don't know
(21:36):
that many people say that anymore becausetoday you get you get criticized and castigated
for just about anything that you say. This this, I could not turn
it into a Florida Man story thoughthe headline says Florida man convicted. I
mean, when you see a headlineand you do what we do and it
(22:02):
starts with Florida man convicted, you'reimmediately thinking dun dum. You know,
you're thinking the song. You're thinking, well, you know, you just
but I can't do it. Icannot do it. For this story,
(22:22):
David Tron's or Tronnis, spent thousandsof dollars on home renovations. I mean,
he was just breaking up his homeand putting stuff back together because he
(22:44):
wanted to be on the A andE reality series Zombie House Flipping. It's
filmed in Orlando. Now, doyou know anything about that show? Because
I don't know anything about that show, Zombie house Flipping. I'm guessing they're
(23:06):
using the title, but it's justyour basic house flipping. You know,
people buy houses and they fix themup, and the goal is to flip
them and sell them and make alittle bit of money. Sometimes make a
lot of money, depends on thecondition of the home. Well, he
wanted to be on this show, but his wife didn't, and so he
(23:33):
did what any loving spouse would dowhen one wants to do something and the
other not so much. He killedher. Seriously, he killed her because
she wouldn't go on the show. She didn't want to do it. Eh.
(23:56):
I'm just I'm beyond my ability tocomprehend where we are in society today.
And I don't think I will everin my life use the expression I
will kill for everything of pizza rightnow or whatever. I just who does
(24:26):
this? Someone wants to be onTV so badly that he killed his wife
because she didn't want to appear. You know, I'm thinking, if you're
(24:49):
this guy, you make the pitchand you say, yeah, my wife's
not really into it, but Iam. And if you really want to
do it that bad and you guyscan and find a way forward without bankrupting
yourself to take on these house flippingprojects and just do it solo. You
don't have to have your wife unlessit's a couple's thing. I don't know.
(25:10):
I don't know enough about the show. Someone out there listening to me
right now, you know about theshow. Maybe you can tell me about
the show. Do you have tobe a couple? Is it required for
there to be a husband and wifeor did just single guys single gals take
on these things. I mean, the concept of house flipping is kind of
intriguing to me, but not todaybecause money's just too expensive in the housing
(25:33):
market's just crazy. So I'll becurious to see what happens to all those
HGTV shows like Househunters and all thatstuff now moving forward. Can they are
there enough people wanting to buy ahouse and then be on television doing it
to even pull off the shows?I don't know. Forty six minutes after
the hour, I predict more renovationshows coming. The liberals Democrats have been
(26:03):
losing their mind ever since the UnitedStates Supreme Court got rid of the debacle
of Roe Wade Row you know, changed your mind and throughout her life became
(26:25):
a staunch pro life advocate, saidI was wrong. Funny how that works
out. As you age, youjust get wisdom and life and you realize,
well, Ohio has an amendment dealingwith it. They're going to vote
(26:47):
in the first Tuesday of November onwhether to put the access the right to
even late term partial birth abortions inthe constitution. Imagine partial birth abortions late
(27:08):
term. I gotta stop. Well, there's an effort to do the same
thing in Florida, and thanks toone of my research assistants, I was
able to reach out to someone thatis fighting this effort to keep it off
(27:32):
the ballot, someone that's you know, there's petitions going around. They've got
about half the signatures they need.Ashley Moody has gone on the record to
state she will fight it. We'llfind out what all that means, and
that's coming up in the in thenext hour. Quick reminder for those of
you in the Capital City area.Operation Medicine Cabinet a medicine collection event.
(27:55):
We talk about it every year partnershipwith DEA National Prescription Drug take Back Day.
It is this Saturday, ten amto two pm. Go from ten
to eleven to get it over withso you can go watch or listen to
the FSUKA. If you're out andabout though and you can't, you know,
just listen to the game on youknow, ninety six five, the
(28:18):
Spear ninety four nine. And ifyou're in the Panama City area, this
doesn't apply to you, but youcan still listen to the game and it's
on Rock ninety four to five. But the Operation Medicine Cabinet is where you
bring your prescriptions that are unused, leftover but are past their useful night date.
(28:41):
Costco on lanyap way. No sharps, no medical waste, no thermometers,
but your prescription meds. Bring them, bring them, bring them all
right. London police have decided thatdeclaring calling for jihad is okay. Estimated
(29:11):
one hundred thousand protesters took to thestreets of London over the weekend. Met
police warrant activists they may face arrestthey're seen supporting terror groups like AMAS,
and so they started arresting people Muslimarmies of the world calling to attack Israel.
(29:37):
Word jihad, says the mat nowhas multiple meanings. Here we go.
We know the public will most commonlyassociate with terrorism, but we have
special counter Terrorism of officers here inthe Operations room who have particular knowledge in
this area. They've assessed the videofilmed that the protests in central London today
(30:02):
and have not identified any offenses arisingfrom the specific clip. Recognizing the way
language like this will be interpreted bythe public and the divisive impact it will
have. Officers have identified the maninvolved and will be speaking to him shortly.
The Hate Crime Guide of Metropolitan Policestates the offense of incitement to hatred
(30:26):
occurs when somebody acts in a waythat is threatening and intended to stir up
hatred. Hate content may include messagescalling for violence against a specific person or
group. Andy No covered the rallyhe was there. He said the speaker
(30:47):
is specifically talking about getting military leadersand countries to mobilize armies of Islam Muslims
to go to Palestinian territories to assistthe Majahadeen those who do she had against
Israel. It's just so funny,Metropolitan plet that is hatred, my friend.
(31:07):
Stop. Okay, maybe it's youknow, she had means a lot
of things. So don't do itagain, or don't be mean about it,
whatever, loser. Welcome to thesecond hour of the Morning Show with
(31:37):
Preston Scott. I'm Preston. Thatis Grant. Great to be with you
this morning. Is Florida going togo the same way as Ohio. Ohio
has a constitutional amendment on the ballot. They'll vote on it in a couple
(31:59):
of weeks. That would enshrine theright to kill babies in the state constitution.
Shameful, but we're facing a similarthreat here in Florida. And joining
me on the program is the founderand executive director of Florida Voice for the
(32:21):
Unborn, Andrew Shervel. Andrew, good morning, Welcome to the program.
Good morning, Preston. Thank youfor having me on my pleasure. First
of all, what exactly does theamendment that these people want to put in
Florida's constitution say? Well, theamendment as written is very simple. It's
(32:44):
actually only one sentence, and theballot summary which would appear on the ballot
is only two sentences. It wouldbasically make access to abortion in Florida an
explicit supercharge state constitutional right. Andthe implications for that would mean that all
our previous legislative protections for the unbornand for women would be out the window.
(33:09):
They would be invalidated. Abortion fromthem up until birth would be legal
in Florida, including partier birth abortion, and our legislature, and the governor
would be prohibited from enacting any lawsregulating abortion in the state of Florida.
So it is a very very dangerousinitiative. So this is a broad wide,
(33:32):
sweeping effort to just legalize killing babies. Do they address parents and miners
at all? They do. It'sa little tricky here in Florida because in
our state constitution, the voters actuallyamended it in two thousand and four to
allow the legislature to pass the statutethat authorizes parental notification prior to a minor
(33:59):
obtaining an abortion, and the legislaturedid so in two thousand and six,
So they can't get rid of thatnotification feature because it's actually written right into
the constitution. But what would happenis if this pro abortion initiative passes and
gets on the ballot and passes theparental consent statute that was passed in twenty
(34:21):
twenty, which requires parents to signoff on any abortions that their minor child
may obtain, that statue would alsobe invalidated, so the parental notification statute
is kind of meaningless anyway, Andbasically parents would have very very little rights
(34:44):
if this has passed. They wouldhave basically no say in their minor daughter's
decision to undergo an abortion. AndrewShervil with US Florida Voice for the Unborn
and the Reality that there is aneed for people like you, Andrew and
me and so many of our listenersto speak up. Who is behind this
(35:07):
effort, Who is supporting this ridiculousness. Of course, it's the Florida abortion
industry, supported by their national allies. You know, Preston, abortion is
a major of business, and sowe already in Florida currently we have over
fifty operating abortion centers throughout the state. They're concentrated primarily in major urban areas.
(35:34):
But they Florida has become an abortiondestination state after the fall of Roe
versus Raid, and the abortion industrywants to make that permanent. They want
to make abortion Florida the abortion capitalof the South for decades to come.
And in order to do that, they have to make sure that the legislature
(35:54):
and the governor cannot interfere with theirbusiness model. That is what is really
driving them. Of course, they'regoing to say they want to help women,
but the opposite is true. Theywant to help their bottom line.
Andrews stand by Andrew Chervil with me. We'll continue our discussion ten past the
hour. Quick check of weather andtraffic here on The Morning Show with Preston
(36:15):
Scott This is the Morning Show withPreston Scott. We are challenging you this
morning to make a difference, Butthat's kind of the rub here in this
situation. We're talking about an effortto give the citizens of Florida a chance
(36:38):
to actually put abortion rights, theright to kill unborn children. These aren't
eagles, these aren't dogs, thesearen't rabbits, These are humans putting it
in the constitution of this state. And Andrew chrvil is with me from Florida
(36:58):
Voice for the Unborn. Andrew True, what can people do besides not sign
the petition if they come across it. Well, Preston, there's a number
of avenues. First off, weneed to educate our fellow citizens about how
radical this initiative is, because ifit does get on the ballot, there's
(37:19):
going to be a lot of misleadinginformation and ads from the abortion industry basically
parroting all sorts of lives that they'vedone in other states, including currently right
now in Ohio. So that's numberone. Number two, we have to
pray, we have to get onour knees and beg God that the abortion
industry does not get the required numberof signatures before the February first, twenty
(37:44):
twenty four deadline, and that's areal possibility, Preston. You know,
in Florida, we have a verytough initiative citizens initiative process, unlike many
of the other states, and that'son purpose. I don't believe the pro
abortion propaganda. I don't think that. I think actually they're going to come
up just short of those signatures inFebruary, and that will be all glory
(38:07):
to God, because that would bea monumental victory. Listen, the citizens
have already addressed this issue of publicpolicy of abortion in our state by electing
a super majority pro life legislature anda pro life governor. That's who makes
public policy. That's what the constitutionauthorizes. Voting on all these different public
(38:31):
policies is not a good thing, because we've seen in other states, Preston,
when people are given the opportunity tovote or choose Barabas or Jesus,
just like they did in the Gospels, they're choosing Barabas and that's not a
good thing. We need them tochoose the light. And so they've already
(38:54):
done that by electing these pro lifelegislators and the govern there, and so
that's the best case scenario. Wedo not want to see this on the
ballot. I'd urge people to goto Florida Voice for thenborn dot com.
You can find all sorts of resourceson our decline to sign web page on
(39:15):
how you can persuade your fellow citisensto decline to sign this petition and to
educate them on the ramifications of thisvery very dangerous initiative. Attorney General Ashley
Moody said initially she would fight thatthe language is incorrect, and she would
fight this even getting to the ballot. What can you tell us about that
(39:37):
effort. Well, that's something thatwe certainly expected, but it's something that
we can't rely on. See.Once something gets in the courts, we
just don't know how the courts aregoing to rule on it. And we
cannot sit back and say, well, the Flora's Green Court is conservative majority,
they're just going to toss this out. I personally don't believe that is
(39:58):
the case. I think the proabortion side has written their ballid initiative in
such a way as to survive SupremeCourt review. Now I'm hopeful that I'm
wrong, and I pray maybe thatI am wrong. But we have to
be proactive. We can't rely onwhat the courts are doing. But I
definitely and Florida Voice for the Unborndefinitely applauds our pro life state Attorney General
(40:23):
for taking the initiative here and fightingthis before the Florida Supreme Court. Andrew,
I think it's important to remind listenersthat the United States Supreme Court,
when it tossed out Row versus Wade, it simply basically put it all back
onto the states. So what's happeningright now is the process that the Supreme
Court set in motion. The federalgovernment is out of this. It's now
(40:45):
up to the states, so Floridais going to have to decide this.
That is absolutely correct. This iswhere the battle lies in each individual state,
and we can save the most amountof babies by focusing on here in
Flow, which has one of themost horrendous abortion rates in the country and
has had it for some quite sometime. So we have to stop this
(41:07):
abortion industry and closed down every singleabortion milk in our state. And that
starts by defeating this evil, evilpro abortion initiative. Andrew, thank you
for all you're doing, and I'msure we'll talk again soon. Thank you
very much. Pressing Andrew Shervil withus this morning and again, CEO founder
Florida Voice for the Unborn. We'vecome back. I'm gonna just push away
(41:30):
a couple of things I want totalk about, Okay, he mentioned making
sure that you are aware of what'sgoing on. I want to give you
a little bit of some things tothink about as you form your thoughts on
the subject. Next in The MorningShow with Preston Scott twenty one, twenty
(42:05):
two minutes after the hour. Soyou're sitting around with some people and you
roll the dice and you decide,Ah, I'm gonna do it because it
matters too much, it's too important. I gotta get this on the table.
And you bring up the fact that, hey, did you know that
there's a petition floating around to putabortion in the state constitution the right to
(42:32):
an abortion. Now, I thinkyou have to be tactical about this,
you know. Grant uses the expressiona lot. Read the room, read
the table, read the group.I would not personally start with killing babies.
(42:58):
That's what abortion is. But abortionis a word that has been sanitized
to abortionists, so you can sayit without stirring the pot and someone going
to oh, they're one of them. So I think you start the conversation.
(43:23):
And I think, and to goback to what we were talking about
with Andrew, I think it isabsolutely pivotal to have this conversation wherever,
whenever you can do it and fitit in. And I think you start
with did you know that there's aneffort to put the right to an abortion
(43:44):
in the state constitution? What doyou think about that? And you can
say it with a little what doyou think about that? Kind of a
not you know, they'll be misleading. Oh boy, this would be great.
Huh. See if you get apushback, no, just what do
you think about that? And seewhat you hear. And then once you
(44:04):
start listening to what people are saying, your discernment, your your wisdom,
your you'll be able to zero inon kind of where everybody is around you.
Now, some might have nothing tosay because they don't want to go
there, don't even want to talkabout it. But but there are some
common arguments used. One of themis, well, you know it's a
(44:29):
it's a woman's body. Now you'regonna have to take the gloves off.
And I would say, well, what about the women that are in the
in the womb, the girls, the babies. I would just throw that
out and I would just let itsit there for a second. See what
they say. Usually you'll get awell, it's just wrong. Now now
(44:54):
you've you've got them. It's justwrong to impose, you know, someone's
will on somebody else's choice. Well, but what let's go back to that
little girl in the womb, andthe fact is they're little boys in the
womb too. Don't they have aI mean, don't they have a right?
(45:15):
And that? And now we getinto the rights issue. Well,
the people that support these ending abortion, they just want to control well,
no, not at all, notat all. For example, and I've
used this, I've used this forforty years in my discussions on this subject.
(45:42):
I wish that young, unmarried girlsdidn't sleep around, but I know
that they will, so legislatively, let me just say, I don't care.
But when when a girl gets pregnant, now there's two people. Now,
(46:07):
now there's two people. So ifif a girl wants to sleep with
the football team or the debate teamor whatever, that's her business. But
when she gets pregnant, there's anotherperson there. That's not a person,
that's a fetus. No, No, that's a person. Well, but
that that person is dependent on themother, that that child will be dependent
(46:30):
on the mother for years or aparent or someone for years. Well,
it can't can't talk. That's whywe're talking for them. Can't communicate.
Well, it can't communicate for ayear or so. Two. What's your
point? Does it trouble you thatwe have more protections for turtles on our
(46:55):
beaches in Florida then we do babiesin the womb. You gotta form your
argument. I challenge you to doit. It's the Morning Show with Preston
Scott on news Radio one hundred pointseven, doubled u f l A.
(47:17):
The Donald Trump bobblehead staring down producerGrand Allen in Studio one. A.
You don't even notice his gaze anymore. I'm used to it. Yeah,
Sis, you don't even notice,Sis, It's just there. Well,
(47:37):
I got John Wayne staring at medown here, too, So I need
to switch it around. I needto have someone else stare at you for
a while. George Patton might begood. George might be good. Big
Stories in the press Box brought toyou by custom care, dry cleaning.
You just caught it in the nationalnews clock secret ballot, anonymous secret ballot.
(48:07):
What good is it for it?I mean, talk me through this.
What good is it? When whoeveryou end up nominating, you're gonna
have to put your name on it, the roll call vote, You'll have
to put your name on it.Why are they doing it this way?
(48:35):
Nine are running for speaker. I'mnot going through the list. All promised
that they would release the video allvideo from January sixth. I'm telling you,
the narrative's gonna change. Now.The mainstream media is gonna go dragging
on it, but the narrative's gonnachange. But what's the harm them?
(49:00):
Is your member of Congress, forgosh sakes, put your name on it?
Cowards? Just anyway? Special SessionFlorida Legislature January, Sorry, January
(49:22):
January is the regular session. Novembersixth starts the special session. Sanctions against
Iran, support for Jewish institutions inFlorida, support for Israel, hurricane relief,
property insurance, and more money forspecial needs students. Apparently that's a
pressing deal, and the governor doesn'twant a It doesn't want to wait till
(49:43):
the end of the regular session. We will be covering the trial of Charlie
Aedelson. Inadvertently, apparently I gota jerk used. I got a note
(50:04):
from a prospective juror that told thejudge and the attorneys representing both sides,
they go privately. They go privatelyto the judges chamber of special room,
whatever, and they're asked if theycan be impartial, and the guy said
no. I listen to Preston Scottin the morning show, and I feel
like I know a lot about thiscase, and I formed an opinion,
(50:31):
and he wrote me about it.He said, yeah, I got dismissed.
Charlie's gonna have his day in court, and the prosecution will have to
prove what they did in probable cause, and they'll have to now prove it
in the actual trial. And wewill have coverage every day after so the
(50:51):
trial will take place, We'll havecoverage the next day of what happened the
day before and what's to come.Mayor of New York, what is wrong
with me? Mayor of Washington,d C. Has said that the defund
the police thing, you know, the Comprehensive Police Adjustment and Injustice Amendment act
(51:13):
has kind of failed. Now shewon't say it that way, but she's
saying it because she said, yeah, we got to fund police, we
got we've we've got, we've gota crime problem. She was a shock.
And then this little gem flight divertedto Portland over a credible security threat.
(51:34):
Yeah I think so. An offduty pilot in the jump seat on
an Alaskan Airlines flight to San Franciscotried to turn off the engines in mid
flight. He has been charged withI think eighty three counts of attempted murder
pilot and charge crew passenger has gothim under control. It's the Morning Show
(52:00):
with Preston Scott. Hey, don'tforget now, we've got blog pages for
you. Grand Allen has his oldpaths with Grand Allen just has a folks.
He kind of spin to it rightthere in the title, doesn't it.
(52:20):
And then there's my nonsense. I'vegot the backstory to Game of Thrones.
I've got the win over Duke flippinga five star from Miami to FSU.
Oh boy, that ought to befun. Yeah, it's it's great.
And then I've got the video ofFSU soccer destroying Duke. It's just
(52:42):
it's if you love the game ofsoccer, and even if you don't,
you'll appreciate the goals, just thehighlights. We've got that, all of
it on the blog page, bothof us on the blog page w fl
A FM dot com or WFLA PanamaCity dot com. In the wild or
in our homes, we love themCritters large and small. Time for another
(53:05):
edition of animal Stories on The MorningShow with Preston Scott and Arizona Pop back
in the loving arms of his familytwelve years after going missing from the backyard
thanks to a microchip. We talkabout that on our Pause for Thoughts segments
(53:28):
Get your pet Chipped. Second,I opened up that kennel door, saw
the dog's body language, tails startedwagging. He didn't stop jumping the whole
time. He knew, he knew, And so apparently they had adopted three
(53:50):
year old dog twelve years ago namedMinion, and Minion was curious and one
day the gate was open and outhe went somehow or another. Though years
later, they put up signs, they went to the shelters, they did
everything, asked neighbors to help,to no avail. They began to lose
(54:15):
a little hope. Yeah, Iwould say twelve years. That would cause
you to lose some hope, nosightings. They tried to move on.
All of a sudden, Big Newsbegan receiving phone calls from an unknown number.
They we're leaving voice messages. She'sa school teacher. Couldn't return the
(54:38):
calls, and so eventually they gotback in touch and an animal control officer
said, yeah, we got wegot your dog. Somebody was reporting it
as a stray and so they pickedit up and there you go. So
(55:01):
someone had grabbed that dog and takenownership of it, but it got out
on them too. So now backback in the hands of its rightful owners.
But you know, I'm doing themath. I'm going, Okay,
twelve years gone. It was threeyears old when they got him. He's
not gonna have much time left. But then I saw this story. Bobby
(55:24):
a pure bread and I can't evenbegin to pronounce the breed. Raferra dal
a la Denja from Portugal confirmed thirtyone years of age has passed away.
Thirty one I've never heard of sucha thing. Thirty one years, one
(55:47):
hundred and sixty five days confirmed bythe Portugal Whatever the Companion Animal Information sits
authorized by the Portuguese government, managedby the National Union of Veterinarians. It's
a pet database. They verified thisdog's birth and age oldest living dog Previously
(56:15):
the record was twenty three. Thenthere was a twenty nine year old dog
in Australia, cattle dog named Bluie. But that dog lived back in nineteen
ten and nineteen thirty nine. Soyou're like, I don't know about that,
the veracity of that, but allegedlythirty one and almost a half thirty
(56:36):
one and a half years, Ican't even imagine was he able to walk?
Surely that was I mean the ownerof the dog gave an interview and
said they never put the dog ina kennel, never put the dog on
a leash, and they fed thedog everything that they ate, human food,
(57:00):
his whole life, just saying fortysix minutes after the hour Animal Stories
Exclusive, Well to me on theMorning Show with President Scott. Welcome to
the Morning Show with Preston Scott.Fifty one minutes past the hour, we'll
(57:30):
talk about BLM and associated groups, how they are receiving unbelievable sums of money
have received, some still receiving andthese are domestic organizations that support terrorist groups
(58:00):
on behalf of Hamas. It's incredible. Stephen Padfield will join me from the
Free Enterprise Project just a little bit. You won't believe how many corporations are
focused on ESG in some form oranother. Even if it doesn't show up
(58:22):
in their policies, it shows upin their philanthropy, and it's cratering the
valuations of these companies. But we'llget to all of that Earlier. I
said I couldn't make this story ofFlorida man's story. Dude murdered his wife
(58:45):
because she wouldn't participate in a realitytelevision show that he wanted to be on.
I mean, I'm certainly not laughingat the crime. I'm laughing at
the absurdity of where we are inculture where someone wants to be a a
fifteen minute celebrity so badly he killedhis wife. I couldn't make this an
(59:07):
animal story. I just couldn't doit. I mean, I want animal
stories to be kind of fun, little whimsical, warm and cuddley, warm
and fuzzy. Custom As agents atO'Hare in Chicago, two passengers arrived last
(59:30):
Monday from the Republic of congo andthey were stopped by customs agents after their
luggage was inspected, and they hadfifteen pounds of goat parts, not goat
(59:52):
meat, now parts trachea, heart, lungs, liver, knees, the
entire digestive system in their luggage. What do you do with that? Could
you imagine opening that up as acustoms agent in what your reaction would be?
(01:00:17):
That would be just utterly horrifying.Thankfully, we can change gears and
it's time for a manly minute.Remember mail by birth, man by choice.
It's about raising your son to haveskills, virtues, ideals that matter,
that make a difference. Teach yourson about repairing drywall. Repairing drywall
(01:00:49):
is a very very nuanced thing becauseit's all dependent on what are you repairing.
Are you repairing a little nailhole. Are you repairing an area where there
was a wall anchor one of thosecorkscrew shaped ones that when it came out,
left a hole. Or are yourepairing damage like someone threw a door
(01:01:12):
open and went ooh, and youpunched a hole through it. There are
methods to repairing all of them. And while this one thing, this is
an additional hack that I'm gonna throwon as a bonus, just remember to
teach. But there's this hack aswell. Always remember that super glue and
(01:01:37):
baking soda together make a formidable tandemfor all manner of repairs. Like if
you've got a cabinet that the littlepuller is come loose and it's kind of
coming apart, a little super glueor a lot of super glue and baking
(01:01:58):
soda you can drill back into thatbad boy and set it all over again.
I'm just telling you there's a wayaround everything with superglue and baking soda.
It's incredible. It's at the bakingsoda adds as a hardener and it
turns it into basically plastic. Thesuper glue and hardens. Right, there's
just remember that because it can beuseful for certain drywall repairs. I'm just
(01:02:21):
saying certain come back with more thirdhour of a very fast moving Tuesday right
here on the Morning Show with PrestonScott Man. Good morning, and welcome
(01:03:01):
to the third hour of the MorningShow with thrus It Scott. Great to
be with you, show five thousandand thirty three, and yes, that's
Legit. Great to be with youthis morning, Grant Allen running the radio
program over there. It's day onethousand and seven of America held hostage by
(01:03:22):
the Resident of the United States. Please to have with us once again a
representative from the Free Enterprise Project. If you are a veteran listener of the
program, you know we have beentalking with with folks from FEP, which
is part of the National Center forPublic Policy Research for years, and Stefan
Padfield joins us this morning. Stefan, good morning, how are you,
(01:03:43):
sir. I'm doing well. Thanksso much for having me set this up
for our listeners a little bit.I've been just teasing the fact that there
are a lot it would be shockingto learn the amount of money that organizations
that are Black Lives Matter or affiliatedwith them or groups like that are receiving
from American corporations. But now it'sbeen sort of ramped up because of what's
(01:04:09):
happened in the Middle East. That'sright. So the trigger for this piece
that I put up on Nationalcenter dotorg and you know, not that long
ago that brought me to your showwas just people were noticing how different corporations
reactions were to the tragedy and atrocitiesin Israel versus how they responded in twenty
(01:04:30):
twenty to the George Floyd killing andto all the riots around that, and
so that raised some eyebrows. Andbasically what we did is we did a
little bit of digging and we sawother people were similarly concerned. You had
SEAPAC going out with tweets basically askingcorporations, hey, what about distinction,
and not only that, you hadBLM, Black Lives Matter organizations basically coming
(01:04:56):
out on the side of Hamas youknow. Essentially, one of the key
tweets that keeps getting pointed to isone of the organizations tweeted out a paraglider
with basically we are with with theparagliders, which is just horrific. And
so these questions got asked, youknow, Okay, what are these corporations
that they're being very muted in theirresponse to the Israeli tragedy and yet they
(01:05:17):
were falling over themselves to support BLM. And so one point in terms of
the amount of money that you mentionedis Claire Mount has basically kept track since
twenty twenty how much money these corporationshave been given to BLM associated groups,
and it basically comes out to ninetynine billion dollars. I mean, I
know nowadays we talk in trillions likeit's nothing, but that is still an
(01:05:40):
incredible, mind blowing amount of money. And I think one of the key
points here, and one of thethings that I'm very proud of with the
Free Enterprise Project and Project twenty one, which is a black conservative network,
is we were there in twenty twentypointing out to these corporations how radical these
Black Lives Mattered organizations were. Ofcourse, they did a great job with
branding. I mean, who's goingto be against an organization that supports black
(01:06:03):
lives right? But what's under thehood is a lot of radicalism, antifamily
right, Marxist roots, and soon. And we were there pointing that
out from the beginning. So thesecorporations can't even say that they weren't nice.
And yet again they just threw thismoney at this organization. All sorts
of questions now about how that moneywas used. And so that's basically what
(01:06:26):
the piece that brought me here toyou today is focusing on. We have
talked to different representatives from the FreeEnterprise Project over the years. Amazon,
MasterCard, Disney of course has beena big, big subject of discussion here
because we are based in Florida, and with good reason, Disney, along
with Target and a host of othercompanies, they are throwing away value to
(01:06:50):
their shareholders at the expense of I'lljust summarize it as political correctness. But
this is a new wrinkle now, isn't it throwing in with groups that are
supporting a mass Yes, I thinkso, and I mean the whole trajectory
here in terms of the go woke, go broke phenomena. You know,
a lot of people are very puzzledhow do we get there. I've talked
(01:07:13):
in the past about how it's reallya confluence of multiple actors. You've got
the true believers, You've got theopportunists, you've got the useful idiots,
and you've got the cowards, andall those folks basically come together to leave
us in this spot where you've gotthese very ideologically left leaning corporations. But
with the Hamas situation, I thinkthat this is a tipping point of sorts,
(01:07:34):
right, and we've had a fewof those recently, thank goodness,
heading in the right direction. Notthat they Israeli tragedies. Anything to be
thankful for. It's horrific. Butone thing that is perhaps a silver lining
is people are waking up to justhow radical the left has become. And
so we have corporations now. Ithink Ted Cruz tweeted out a couple of
days ago pointing out their BLM supportafter this Hamask Glider tweet, and they
(01:08:00):
quietly Coca Cola sort of quietly scrubbedtheir website where they have been yet again
promoting their diversity, equity and inclusionpolicies and had this paragraph about how great
their BLM support is, and theyjust sort of quietly backed that out,
and he had the screenshots to showit and basically pointed out that hey,
that's a start, but that's clearlynot enough. And I think one of
the issues here is these corporate decisionmakers, use executives and directors, have
(01:08:24):
a fiduciary duty to make their decisionson a fully informed basis, and one
really has to ask what sort ofinformation are you getting? Are you acting
in good faith? Are you justoperating in a left wing echo chamber?
Are you just prioritizing your ideology. There's some really serious questions that need to
be asked. Stefan Standby back withStefan Padfield with the Free Enterprise Project on
(01:08:45):
the Morning Show with Preston Scott.Good morning, and welcome to the Morning
Show with Preston Scott. Free EnterpriseProject a kind of under the umbrella of
(01:09:06):
the National Center for Public Policy Research, and it's kind of shareholder activism.
Is how would you best describe,Stefan, what the Free Enterprise Project is
all about. Yeah, you're absolutelyright. It's about using our position as
shareholders. So we have taken positionsin a number of these big name corporations
(01:09:26):
and we use that position as ashareholder to advocate for conservative and we don't
even really need to go all theway to conservative, not that that's I
think that's the right place to be, but even just back to neutral right,
get away from this politically ideological positionthat we see these corporations in.
And so we go to shareholder meetings, we file shareholder proposals, we engage
(01:09:47):
with these corporations, and so itis a unique way that we go about
our business of trying to advance conservativeprinciples, which are basically back to back
to neutral, pro business right, encouraging the things that make capitalism be so
fruitful and that's essentially what we do, including coming on shows like this and
trying to spread the word. Whydo you think so many corporations? And
(01:10:10):
when I say so many, whenI went on the website and looked at
your database showing the corporations listed andthe amount of money they're giving to BLM,
BLM related or like causes, Iwas shocked at the numbers. How
is it that these corporations, Stefanare totally ignorant of what's happened to businesses
(01:10:35):
like Target, like Disney, likeeven bud Light, for engaging in activism
with their company or politics with theircompany, and forgetting shareholder value. Yeah,
well, I mean I think thatwe may be at a bit of
a tipping point, as I mentionedearlier. So if you look at the
timeline here, there clearly was apretty long run where corporations felt quite comfort
(01:11:00):
just ignoring their conservative customers, whetherthat be because they didn't feel like we
would boycott as much, you know, we were pro business quote unquote.
But what has happened recently in thelast few months with Disney, with Tardan,
with bud Light, A flair hasgone up, right, and these
corporations have to now pay attention totheir conservative base. Now are they doing
(01:11:21):
that very well? That we canask, because Disney came out and the
CEO basically said, hey, we'regoing to get out of the culture wars,
and the next week they had aspecial on ESPN where they were claiming
that pro athletes making millions of dollarsare the equivalent of slaves. So there's
going to be a lot of workthat needs to be done. But at
least they're saying the right things interms of starting to back away from the
(01:11:43):
culture wars, the DEI, theESG right. But it's going to be
a long march because again, Ithink a lot of people have pointed out
quite well that the lefts march throughthese institutions has been decades in the workings.
We're not going to undo that ina week or a summer. We're
going to have to do the exactsame thing, which is make people aware,
(01:12:03):
support the people that are on ourside, but maybe afraid to do
something, change the incentives, theperverse incentives. Sure, and then isolate
the radicals, because you're not goingto change the radical's mind, but you
can isolate them and you can showtheir true face to the public, which
is what's happening very much right now, and that will start to move the
dial. Stefan, thanks so muchfor the time this morning. I know
(01:12:25):
that I can say with great claritywe're gonna speak again. I appreciate the
work you're doing. Thanks so muchfor having me have a great day.
You do the same, Stefan Padfieldwith us this morning from the Free Enterprise
Project. Look it up National Centerfor Public Policy Research. Look it up
seriously and check out the database itis in. You will have your mind
(01:12:47):
blown. Sixteen minutes after the hoursthe Morning show. I just have to
quantify what I just said. Youwouldn't believe. This is a BLM funding
(01:13:12):
database from DC dot Claremont dot org. And they basically provide a database and
sources, notes, and so forthon where they get the data to show
who's given to who, all theseorganizations, who's given to them, who's
(01:13:35):
supporting them? Total given to theBLM movement and related causes is ninety nine
billion dollars. I just scanned throughthe first couple letters in the alphabet.
(01:13:56):
AT and T has given three pointone billion dollars in total. Bank of
America eighteen point two five billion dollars. I'm just scanning through here. Blackrock
(01:14:23):
has only given eight hundred and tenmillion dollars. Oh my gosh, Bert's
Bees has given one hundred thousand dollars, Campbell's Soup one point five million dollars,
(01:14:47):
Capital one Financial ten million. Thereare some groups I've given nothing.
It's I'm just I'm stopping there becauseI'll i'll, I'll never buy anything from
anybody ever again. If I keeplooking. DC Examiner Border Patrol caught more
(01:15:15):
than one hundred and seventy two knownor suspected terrorists illegally entering the US from
Mexico or Canada over the past twelvemonths fiscal year. Those are the ones
we caught. Let me point outsomething that everybody that's a Navy seal,
(01:15:45):
everybody that's an earnest member of theFBI, Homeland Security, law enforcement knows
it only takes one. Only oneof them needs to be successful, and
our border is being flooded. Thisis what we know. The number has
(01:16:13):
exploded since Biden's comeing office. I'mconvinced that it's either number one or number
two most important issues of our time, the southern border. This this fundamentally
reshapes the entire country because of themasses that are coming, new voters,
(01:16:39):
new voting trends, because that's whatthat's what this whole Yeah, you're leaving
out these are new taxpayers. Idespise that argument. That is so imbecilic
to me. I can't this voice. Yeah no, because I'm a name,
(01:17:00):
but the But seriously, though, there's like an actual segment I know
that would say like, hey,it's what's good for the GDP. And
I'm like, first, they're sendingany money they're making back to Mexico precisely,
and and that's if they're not beingpaid under the table. And you
and I both know they're being paidunder the table often, if not the
(01:17:24):
majority of the time. They're gettingcash. And for the employer, piece
of cake. Man, someone getshurt on the job, give them a
thousand bucks, send them back home, come back when you get ready,
when you get get well, herehere's another thousand for your mom and dad.
(01:17:47):
Whatever I mean, it's just yeah, oh, what a disaster.
It's an I've used the word invasion. It's an invasion on our southern border.
People didn't like that word when Ifirst started saying it a few years
ago. But it is that word'sbecoming a lot more frequently used today.
(01:18:10):
But just think about it. Weknow about one hundred and seventy two terrorists,
we don't know about the rest, and all it takes is one back
with the big stories in the pressbox. It's the Morning Show with Preston
Scott Money Talk. Just a fewminutes away on the program tomorrow, Craig
(01:18:40):
Deluze of Project twenty one more onthe BLM backing of Hamas, only we're
not talking about it from the perspectiveof businesses and corporations, just kind of
a grassroots perspective. Also tomorrow, the cost of dementia. I had no
(01:19:04):
idea A dementia diagnosis is bankrupting familiesunbelievable, and so we're going to look
into that as well tomorrow on theprogram and then of course tomorrow expecting this,
of course one of the big storiesin the press box, brought to
(01:19:24):
you by Custom Care Dry Cleaning.Expecting the trial to begin jury selection yesterday
and today. They expect to havea jury selected by the end of the
day today. In the trial ofCharlie Adelson. He the brother of Wendy
Adolson, she the former wife ofDan Markel. He the son of Donna
(01:19:45):
Adelson and Harvey Adolson, and Donnain particular, was scheduled to have a
hearing in August of the very summerthat he was murdered. In July,
one month later, Donna was goingto be in front of a judge explaining
(01:20:09):
herself because Dan was seeking supervised visitationwith Donna and her grandchildren, Dan's sons.
And so this to me is apivotal trial because I'm of the opinion
(01:20:32):
listening to the evidence, and yes, I have heard evidence. I have
seen evidence, nothing more than whatyou can see and hear. It's all
out there, well, a lotof it's out there. Perhaps the most
damning thing that Charlie said in asit down with his gal pal, who's
(01:20:57):
the middle woman, Katie McMahon, who, oh, by the way,
was found guilty, is in thefirst thirty seconds of a video that they've
got of her and Charlie together ina restaurant, him saying, don't worry
if they had anything, we'd beon our way out of the country already,
(01:21:19):
or words to that effect. Okay, so yeah, but I'm I'm
I want this to I want Iwant there to be a fair trial,
and then I want Donna Adelson tohave a fair trial, and then I
want Wendy Adelson to have a fairtrial, and maybe Harvey and I want
(01:21:44):
those kids to know their grandparents onthe other side of the family, since
the one side I believe was responsiblefor their dad's death. So we'll start
covering the trial on Thursday. Trial'ssupposed to begin tomorrow. Florida Lawmakers special
session November sixth. Democrat Mayor ofWashington d C. Muriel Bowser has flipped
(01:22:06):
the script on the George Floyd erapolice reforms, introducing legislation. I didn't
know mayors could do that. Iguess Washington DC's a special place to address
the skyrocketing crime in the nation's capital. Huh. Guess that whole defund the
police thing didn't work after all.And speaking of George Floyd, there's some
(01:22:29):
information coming out and we're going toaddress that this week. And lastly,
last big story in the press boxbrought to you by custom Care Dry Cleaning,
A and Alaska Airlines flight from Portland, well sorry, not from Portland.
It was diverted to Portland, supposedto go from Washington State to San
(01:22:54):
Francisco had to be diverted to Portland. When an off duty pilot in the
jump seat, in case you don'tknow, oftentimes a pilot just wanting to
bum a ride is allowed to sitin the jump seat in the cabin the
cockpit rather than not the cabin, and they courtesy that flight, they let
(01:23:15):
him just jump on board. Well, apparently this guy something wasn't right that
day, because apparently he tried todisable the engines in flight, and so
he's been charged with eighty three countsof attempted murder. So you caught up
on the things going on. Backwith more money talk. Next, It's
(01:23:35):
The Morning Show with Preston Scott's timefor money Talk with an investment advisor,

(01:24:25):
I can't believe that anyone out there, just John Q. Public is
real happy right now with the statusof what it costs to buy things.
Yeah, it's continued to be anongoing concern, hasn't it. The September
gross domestic product has remained strong, stronger than one would have anticipated. It
(01:24:50):
around four percent annualized growth rate.So the inflation rate the CPI has come
in at three point seve seven percenttrailing and frankly though, when you look
at everything, including food and energy, which Preston, you know, we've
talked about it, Yes, notin the data. When you look at
(01:25:13):
that, the real inflation rate formost consumers is probably closer to five percent
or more. How is it thatthey're allowed to take out the things that
are non negotiable food and power, gas, whatever. Yeah, that decision
was made decades ago, Preston,in the nineteen eighties. I believe it
(01:25:39):
was either done under the George HerbertWalker regime or Ronald Reagan's That's how far
back we go. I don't havea better answer for you other than the
Department of Labor that tracks these thingsand Bureau of Labor Statistics thought that that
would be a good idea. Yeah. Well, the bottom line is This
(01:26:01):
is resulting in, you know, household finances just getting more and more sketchy.
They really are. The consumer hasreally hung in there very very well.
But according to a survey just releaseby the New York Federal Reserve,
conditions are getting much tighter. Andthe probability is, you know, very
(01:26:27):
unfortunately. We got about twenty twentyfive percent of the country that doesn't have
three or four hundred dollars and they'rechecking their savings accounts, so they're living
off the credit card and now they'repaying the necessities, the food, the
utilities, the rent, and soforth on the credit card. And the
probability is is that delinquencies are goingto start going up. I think we'll
(01:26:51):
see that when this fourth quarter datacomes out, but it could increase by
as much as twelve and a halfpercent. I'm referring to delinquencies the inability
to pay the rent or the utilitybill, and certainly to pay off your
credit card bill. Well, thatleads me to credit. And I want
(01:27:14):
to ask you about this because wetalked the other day about mortgages and the
demand for mortgages being at a twentyseven or twenty eight year low. I
mean credit right now is tough tocome by. It really is, and
I'm sure your listeners are aware ofthe fact the thirty year mortgage rate is
now at eight percent or higher YEP, and most potential home buyers simply don't
(01:27:40):
have anywhere close to what's needed toput down a down payment to buy a
new home, or to even havethe income level to qualify to get that
mortgage. I saw the other dayyou'd need an income of one hundred and
fourteen thousand, and unfortunately, themedian income in the US is closer to
(01:28:01):
seventy five thousand a day, soabout forty short of what's needed even if
you wanted to buy a home intoday's market. Tough, tough times,
Howard, as always, thank youvery much for the data. Yes,
sir, I have a great day, Preston, Thank you, sir.
Howard Eisman with us this morning onthe Morning Show with Preston Scott forty six
(01:28:23):
past I wrote these words on therundown. Oh Liz, Now, who
(01:28:55):
could I be referred to? Cheney? Bet? It's a good bet,
Warren nah, I don't spend muchtime talking about her. I don't spend
much time talking about Liz Cheney certainlynot Liz Taylor. I'm trying to think
of other lizes. I don't know. No, Lizzie Borden, you know,
(01:29:17):
she took an axe. That referenceup there went way over my head.
Lizzie Bordon. Yeah, I don'tknow who that is. Oh,
you're kidding. No, just justgoogle Lizzie Borden took an axe and we'll
catch up on that later. Okay. Liz Cheney has said that Donald Trump
(01:29:38):
is the single most dangerous threat thecountry faces, and that the the House
committee she sat on, you know, is one of the worst of the
rhinos. She and Adam Kissinger wereallowed to be on that committee that Adam
(01:30:00):
shift Jerry, the nat Nadler chaired. That was an inquisition that was just
absurdly ridiculous. There's no question thathe will unravel the institutions of our democracy.
He cannot be the next president becauseif he is, all of the
things he attempted to do but wasstopped from doing by responsible people around him
(01:30:23):
in the Department of Justice, inthe White House's Counsel's office, all of
those things he will do, therewill be no guardrails. She's not yet
decided whether she's going to run forthe White House. Let me just say
this on the front end. Ifanybody, including her dear old dad gives
(01:30:48):
her a dime, they're an idiot. They're an idiot. She'll have to
self finance that and that'll last whatcouple days. She hasn't decided if she's
running. Oh my god, talkabout not being able to read the room.
(01:31:10):
That's what I said. Oh,Liz y, Liz, Liz,
Liz, even the Democrats think you'rea buffoon. Yeah, they just put
you on there because you're you're aRepublican pretender. And I just you know,
normally we end the show with somethinglighthearted and funny. Well we got
something funny, Liz saying, Yeah, so I'm still considering a run with
(01:31:30):
the Little Office. Whatever, Liz, whatever, Bye bye. Did you
look up Lizzie bordon I got aWikipedia page here. I'll have to check
it out. I'll just I thinkit goes something like this. Lizzie Borden
took an axe and gave her motherforty wax or father forty wax. So
she's like a kind of this folkfigure through and when yeah, when she
(01:31:56):
saw what she had done, shegave her father forty one or something like
that. I mean, yeah,I mean she murdered her parents. Interesting.
Yeah, so that's the other.Sorry, let's just end here.
Brought to you by Barono Heating andAir. It's the Morning Show one on
WFLA. She took kind of adark turn there, you know. We
(01:32:17):
started with Michigan State and the apologyfor an Adolf Hitler image on the Spartan
Stadium scoreboard before the game. Thisis why you listen to every moment of
this show. It doesn't matter thatyou can't listen to it live. You
(01:32:41):
get the iHeartRadio app, and yousubscribe to the podcast The Morning Show with
Preston Scott, and subscribe to conversationswith Preston Scott, and then you get
notified every single day there's a newshow. I missed it today or I
didn't get to hear all of it. There you go, You just queue
into the parts you missed Boom, but you missed the whole thing on what
(01:33:03):
happened to MSU? A bad footballseason's gotten worse. They flashed Hitler up
on the scoreboard. Granted it wasbefore the game started, but there were
people in the stadium. Grant andI were wondering if anyone clicked their heels
and went hot, hot, nevermind. Talked about the skyrocketing numbers at the
(01:33:26):
border. Talked about abortion, theeffort to put it in the state constitution.
Yes, don't sign that petition.I'm going to tell a story about
that tomorrow. Another vote coming upin four minutes, secret ballot Republicans,
will they find a speaker? Seeyou tomorrow,
