Speaker 1 (00:05):
Isaiah forty three, Verse two says, when you pass through
the waters, I will be with you, and through the
rivers they shall not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire,
you shall not be burned, and the flames shall not
consume you. The goodness of God. That is on my

(00:27):
blog page. I decided I was gonna go ahead and
throw that up there for you. The video is precious
at cc Winings and yeah, just check it out on
the blog page. W FLA FM dot com slash Preston
or WFLA Panama City dot com slash Preston, and it

(00:50):
will bless you all Right, ten eleven past the hour,
Let's get going. It's the Morning Show with Preston Scott.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Sense of sensibility, communicator of common sense amplified.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
It's The Morning Show with Preston Scott.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Jose's sitting over there, stunned. CC winans sixty one years
of age and has never suck better. She's been an
icon in the Christian gospel music world for decades. I
was just telling Jose it's a family thing. Her brothers
the Whinings, and then one of her brothers sang a
bunch with her. They toured together. BB Winings and so

(01:40):
it's BB and CC, but the Winen Brothers incredible, BB
Winings incredible. But Ceci has found herself in a renaissance
of her career in the last five years or so.
And I was just telling ose just a short list
of some of the music that is very, very popular
now being sung in churches now powerful. And you know,

(02:03):
she took a song that Brandon Lake did that was
really good and sang it with Brandon and made it incredible.
I you know, I know a name that song. I
know a name that's C. C. Winen singing with Brandon Lake.
It's she just has that anointing from God that is
just incredible and so U but check out the video

(02:27):
because the video is really good for Thanksgiving Week, and
that's why I chose to go ahead and post it,
because the video is kind of a reflection of a
small portion of her family coming together looking at slides
of their family, and she's just recounting the goodness of

(02:49):
God as she looks at her family, and it's just
I get moved to tears every time I look at
this video because it just reminds me of God's goodness
in my own life and how blessed. I am with
my family. So all right, stop being a sissy. All right,

(03:12):
here we go. Uh, I'm being a sissy, Yestery, Okay,
I'll just I'm in it now. Yesterday I surprised my
grandson with a little birthday party at his school, and
he didn't know anything about it. He came to the
office to get me and didn't know it was me.
He comes running in the door, bye bye. He comes

(03:34):
hugging me, and it was just it was awesome with
his little friend. And so we go to the classroom
and I've got pizzas for the classroom and juice boxes
and pouches or whatever, and cupcakes, and his teacher was
very kind to just kind of make it happen at
their lunch hour and just stay in and put a
movie on and and we just it was just a

(03:55):
great thirty five forty minutes because I got there a
little bit early and she she just it just it worked.
So I'm leaving, and at this particular school, they had
like seventy five athletes coming in to speak and read
to the kids, and so there's the office. The administration

(04:17):
is filled with about half of them at that point,
and I come walking in with these boxes of pizzas
and stuff, and the and the pizza is all gone,
they're just empty boxes. And they're just looking at me.
Do you ever have walked into a room where every
eye is staring at you? Every single eye is staring

(04:38):
at me? And I just go hi and kind of
just a smile, and and I just said I'm sorry
they didn't leave enough for you guys, and a little
polite laughter there, and I said, okay, I was throwing
a birthday party for a surprise party for my grandson

(05:01):
and and the young ladies in particular. But even the guys,
they're they're all like, oh, that's so sweet. I said,
I'll tell you what's crazy, and then I shared the story.
I used to go to the lunch room here and
have lunch with my grandson's mom when she was a
little girl. And then it was like ah, and it

(05:26):
was just it was precious. It was just a precious day.
And so I don't know, I had no intention of
picking that song, but when I did, and I and
I watched it before the show started and I was here,
I am tearing up again. I'm I just as C. C.

(05:47):
Wining's reflects and her husband walks in and greets her
in this video, and then they're two children, and then
a grandchild and a spouse, a son in law, and
it's just, yeah, it's just it's just the blessings and
the goodness of God. And I recognize that that's not
the same for everybody, that everybody's life does not unfold

(06:11):
the same way. All I can tell you is like
the story of the Footprints in the Sand, where Jesus
replies to the question, Jesus, in my toughest times, there's
only one set of footprints. What's that about? I mean,
you're walking side by side with me all throughout my life,
but then when I'm really having a tough time, there's

(06:32):
only one set of footprints. And Jesus says, that's when
I was carrying you. And so for those of you
that have been going through it and maybe are just no,
God's goodness is consistent and he never fails. And though

(06:54):
we might not appreciate the answers we get at the
time we get them, and they might not be the
answers that we expect, God's sovereign and God is good. Okay, sorry,
I so much for this date in history, eighteen minutes
past the hour This Morning Show with Preston.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
This is why you love this right the UFLA on
your phone with the iHeartRadio app and on hundreds of
devices like Alexa, Google Home, Xbox and Sonos soon yes,
and iHeart Radio station.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
All right, just a quick little psa here. Next week,
from eleven to one, Thanksgiving Thanksgiving meal offered at the
American Legion right there at Lake Ella, Lake Ella Drive.
And if you're alone away from home, I want to
share a Thanksgiving come on. Started in nineteen eighty four,

(08:04):
and so all kinds of people pitching in and sponsoring
the event and stepping up to help. So it is
from eleven to one. So if you are looking for
a place to have a Thanksgiving meal and times are
a little challenging for you, right now there you go enjoy.

(08:25):
They have served thousands over the years. And so it's
at the American Legion at Lake Ella, all right, from
eleven to one. I'll remind you again next week. And
this is something you can share to others. And obviously
if you can, if you've got a spot or two
at your home, and you know somebody in your church
or somebody that's doesn't have family and you'd like to
invite them over. It's a great time to do that,

(08:47):
to let others see your family and experience your family
and feel part of your family. Boy, if I got
an exciting update, we man, you people, you people are
just so incredible. I said, you know, we're kind of

(09:09):
struggling a little bit this week with and then things
picked up as the week has gone on, and then
I get this update from Jay Sherlow yesterday. I said,
I wanted to get at least, if at all possible,
to halfway through our goal by Thanksgiving next week. Right,

(09:31):
our goal is fifty five thousand dollars for Orphan Shade.
That's what it will cost to build Home number six.
It's the biggest thing we've ever tried to do, biggest,
And we've got a challenge for Panama City listeners out
there if you want to give Orphanshade dot com donate
build a house and put PC a house number six

(09:52):
in the comments and PC challenge, And we've got a
matching offer out there of two thousand dollars. So so
if you can give towards that, that'd be great. But
my goal was getting half of it twenty seven to
five by next Thursday. Here was the update at the
end of the day yesterday twenty six six hundred and

(10:14):
nine dollars. Anyone want to get us to twenty seven
to five by the end of the day to day
so that next week we can push past the halfway
mark before Thanksgiving, and then when we come back on
December first, it'll be Spirit of Christmas. It'll be the

(10:36):
Spirit of Christmas. The baton from Operation Thanksgiving gets handed
over to the Spirit of Christmas, and then we run.
The rest of the race is the Spirit of Christmas.
I'm blown away. We may have someone gave a large
gift and we may have that Marvin Goldstein concert person,

(10:57):
but we don't know yet. We were waiting here if
that person wants to have the opportunity to have that
concert for family, friends, or business or clients or whatever,
but they may not have any interest in it. I
have no idea, but we thank you. So to get
to twenty seven to five, we need we need about

(11:23):
nine hundred bucks. Just say, come on, we can do
this today. We can do this. We can enter the
weekend halfway to our goal. So Orphanshade dot com click
the donate button We're building a home for orphan girls.
It's the second home we've tried to build on this show.

(11:44):
We did Home number three in twenty twenty two. This
is Home number six. Click the donate button build a house,
and then the drop down menu put Home number six.
Twenty seven minutes after the hour, Big Stories in the
press Box are next on The Morning Show with Preston Scott.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Subjects will just make you furious.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Don't worry. We're here to make it all better. It's
The Morning Show with Preston Scott.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Things are not going to work out well for New York.
They just aren't generally speaking, communities run by Democrats. It
does not work out well because today's Democrat Party is lost.
Welcome friends to the Morning Show. News isn't good for

(12:36):
the president. Polling numbers Fox News is rolling out not
good at all. Seventy six percent of voters view the
economy negatively. That is worse than the sixty seven percent
who felt that way in July seventy percent who said
the same at the end of Biden's term. It's worse
than under Biden's term in the minds of people. I

(13:01):
would love to know how practically people are viewing that
the economy is worse now. The prices at the store.
For example, if you add up the cost of Thanksgiving
this year versus last year and the year before and
the year before and the year before, prices are down.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Now.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
The president can't make prices go down. All he can
do is create a favorable regulatory environment, lower energy costs,
and hope that it finds its way into the marketplace.
That businesses don't just then say wow, we can now
get higher profits as opposed to rolling prices back and

(13:45):
maintaining the same margins versus expanding their margins. But that's
up to businesses. That's what the marketplace does. Voters are
blaming the president. Voters think Republicans have a better plan
for border secure, immigration and crime. Democrats are seeing better
on affordability, wages, healthcare, and climate. Good god, but these

(14:09):
are the numbers. Forty one percent approve of the job
Trump is doing, fifty eight percent disapprove. And so that's
what the polling says. There, you go just is what
it is.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
Hu.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
I think that a lot of people, for example, there
are a number of costs that you deal with that
have that are reflection of what goes on in a
given state, not the federal government. And so I wonder

(14:47):
how much of this is shaped by people that live
in states where things are going side. Look, the insurance
rates in Florida have stabilized and or dropping. They're getting better.
We're not there yet, but the fixes are working. There
are things happening here that are that are improving things.

(15:09):
Affordability and housing that's still a problem, but that's a
problem everywhere. The fifty year mortgage is not the answer.
It just isn't. And then there's this And this is
one that I'll spend more time on next hour than
this hour. It is a warning. Jugging, which is a

(15:32):
slang term for a crime of opportunity, is increasing and
it's going to get more and more popular during the
holiday season. So here and and they're the stories of
this stuff are I mean, this is dangerous stuff. That's
that's starting to happen more. Bad guys will follow you

(15:53):
from the bank, they will follow you from stores. They'll
wait for you to get to another parking lot after
you've been to a certain store and they see you
walk out with bags like you go to a Best Buy.
They're gonna watch They're gonna be in. They're gonna they're
gonna be watching, and sometimes someone may follow you to

(16:14):
your next stop and then they'll break into your car
and take everything. No, you can't shoot him, Jose, unless
they're threatening your life. He just acted out a draw
and a gunfire exchange. Yeah, but here's the thing. You
have to be aware of whether you're being followed. You've

(16:35):
got to have a situational awareness at all times. So
just know it's happening forty minutes after the hour. Those
are your big stories, two of them in the press
ballot press box. Here of the Morning Show with Preston Scott.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
What are the days when times were good and life
was simple? He still lives there. The Morning Show with
Preston Scott on News Radio one hundred point seven WFLA.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
In case you were wondering what's been going on with
Cracker Barrel. You know what, the people at Cracker Barrel
have got to be just kind of wishing it never happened, right,
But they didn't learn. They just held their vote and

(17:33):
they they retained their CEO, Julie Fills Messino. They kept her.
One board member resigned after being retained, Gilbert de Villa
uh So they're gonna just they're not gonna replace him.

(17:53):
They're just gonna move ahead with nine directors on the
on the board at Cracker Barrel. The Villa was a
marketing and diversity specialist for Cracker Barrel. They're letting him go.
He was on the corporate board. Now. They only let
him go because there was there was a real push

(18:15):
to get rid of him amongst some of the shareholders.
And and there are some people saying, wow, look at that.
The shareholder's got to win instead of the board. Not really.
There there were a couple of firms that are they're
proxy advisory firms, Institutional Shareholder Services in Glass Lewis. They
were urging them to get rid of more directors and

(18:37):
they didn't. So all I'm saying is, hold your breath.
I'm not ready to go back. I'm just not until
I start reading and seeing reports that indicate the food
quality is where it's supposed to be, where it used
to be. I'm not going back. I'll miss you, but

(19:02):
I'm not going back. I'm just gonna I'm just gonna
wait and see. But they hadn't they didn't learn they
see here's what they're thinking is that's over. Now we
can just kind of they're gonna try to They're gonna
try doing the exact same thing, just differently. I know

(19:23):
that sounds like an oxymoron. It's about rebranding. They're gonna rebrand,
the rebrand and I mean we heard that from from
one of our guests about the uh the from Seamus Brunner,
how Arabella's just reforming itself. They're gonna rebrand, They're gonna

(19:46):
come up with a new name. They're gonna just do
things a little more sophisticated. And US Department of Agriculture
looking into the SNAP program, it should ag Secretaryry Brook
Rollins said, Look, there are vulnerable families in America that
need this program and they're not getting the aid they

(20:07):
need because of fraud and abuse. We're going to try
to fix it here here. But here's the problem. Listen,
remember where this is how it all ties together. We
were just talking about how there are states that determine
what's going on in an economy, and they dumped this
on the Trump on Trump. Look, there's plenty of blame

(20:28):
to go around Congress and local state. You know all
that there is, there's responsibility to be shared for what
has happened in this country economically to get us where
we are, both sides of the aisle. Not having courage
is what it really boils down to to do the
right thing. But listen to this. The Department of Agriculture

(20:53):
asked states back in February to share data on recipients,
meaning tell us what kind of people are getting this stuff?
Are you keeping track of your roles? All that? Well,
they found out right now that one hundred and eighty
six thousand people that are dead are getting SNAP benefits.
That's a problem. That is a massive waste. About five

(21:22):
hundred thousand people collecting SNAP assistance in more than one state.
So they're getting SNAP in two states like Florida and Georgia,
but only twenty nine out of fifty states have cooperated.
Guess which states they are states run by Republicans. For

(21:43):
the most part, Democrats aren't given out the data. In
other words, they want to allow the fraud to continue.
Alabama leads the nation more than twenty six thousand stolen
SNAP benefit claims twenty six thousand, California twenty five eight,
New York twenty five to two. So nationwide, more than

(22:08):
two hundred and twenty six thousand fraudulent snap benefit claims.
More than six hundred and ninety one thousand unauthorized transactions
have been approved. Case you were wondering, forty seven minutes
past Animal Stories and more Decks running show with Preston Scott.

(22:30):
This is the Way My News Radio one.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
Hundred point seven double UFLA.

Speaker 6 (22:45):
Now now.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Now now case you missed it. When you go to
Orphanshade dot com and you click the donate button, whatever
dollar amount you want to put in, how often you
want it to be donated, and then it says apply
my gift to please select and you put a drop

(23:11):
down menu there. You hit it and you say build
a house, and in the comments you put a house
number six. You can take part in the PC Challenge
if you're from the PC area and that means the
surrounding area, or just give what you can and we
appreciate it. I announced that we are doing doing the
quick math. Here we are nine hundred dollars away from

(23:36):
our goal for the week of getting well. The goal
was for next to be to be at Thanksgiving at
twenty seven to five. We're at twenty six six right now.
You people are amazing and so on behalf of Jay
Stacey and Pastor Prince and the girls that you're going
to be providing a home for. I mean, does that

(23:58):
how does that not warm your heart that you're going
to be responsible for providing a home for little girls
that don't have a mommy or daddy. Oh, way to
go people, Way to go. Good stuff, Orphanshade dot com.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
In the wild or in our homes.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
We love them.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
Critters large and small. Time for another edition of Animal Stories.
On The Morning Show with Dreston Scott Valencia.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
Spain Biopark, Valencia announced a first ever Southern white rhinoceros
born at the facility. And he's a little guy. He's
a male. He and mom are doing well. He's nursing
and bonding with his mother, Kwanza, the baby's father, Martin,
and two other female rhinos. I'm just saying it's a

(24:53):
thing there. I say, uh, Nambula and Ami have met
with the baby and it's all very positive. No one's
being mean. Everybody's loving another, as my daughter would say,
love another. If if you don't know the the white rhinoceros,
that it's the rhinoceroses of the world are endangered and

(25:18):
so this is good. This is a good thing. This
is This is one of my favorite stories I've done
in a while. Paradise Park in Cornwall, England had an
escaped flamingo. They clipped the wings, but this one was like,
I shall not be deterred. I'm going on a holiday.

(25:42):
And so this flamingo took flight and has been spotted
on the beaches of northern France. The flamingo flew the
English Channel and is now vacationing in France. The UH
the Animal Sanctuary of the Zoo is saying, yeah, we're

(26:04):
not gonna get him too great a chance of a
bird flu being on him and coming back and be
hurting the hurt the flocks. So we're gonna hope he
hooks up with some natural wild flamingo herds and gets
gets brought it, lives out his life happily. Ever after

(26:25):
I did the idea of a flamingo just saying you
know what, I'm done with this. It's like he's hiding
his wings. No, I'm fine, I'm fine letting the feathers grow,
practicing at night, flying, flying, flying it. I've got air,
I've got a lift, I've got lyft. Hour two of

(26:45):
the Morning Show with Preston Scott is next five minutes past.
It is the second hour Friday in the Morning Show.
An hour from now, it's what's the beat Friday? Whatever
you want to complain about, But we're open up the

(27:06):
phone lines now, and let me state this right up front.
I would love to get your thoughts on this, but
I don't need to have them. In other words, I
welcome the conversation on this topic. I've never been a
big fan of open line Friday or whatever. You know.
Rush used to do that. It works for Rush, it

(27:27):
doesn't work for me. This time of day, people are
driving to work, they're not just settled in midday shows
just seem to run differently, and and it's it's it's
a different animal. And so I tend to do call
in segments where I focus onto a topic and give

(27:48):
you a chance to think on it and then decide
whether you want to call in or not. So the number,
you know, the number eight five zero two zero five
to b FLA. Jose and I have been debating this
all week long. A a number one song on the
Billboard Country Digital Song Sales Chart, meaning these are digital

(28:10):
downloads of the song. Because that's how people buy music
now they don't. I mean, CDs are still out there.
Vinyls is still a thing. It's become kind of trendy,
and I love vinyls still the best. The best sound
you'll get is out of vinyl. But the number one
song is by a group Breaking Rust, and it's called

(28:33):
Walk My Walk, and it's if you like that type
of music. It's a good song, and not one bit
of it is real. It's all Ai, the lead singer AI,
the group AI, the notes, AI, the band, AI, Everything's Ai.

(28:57):
Glenn Beck wrote about this, and in fact, it's part
of a pretty large narrative he's been talking about this week,
and the headline of his article is shocking AI written song,
country song, tops chart, sparks soul debate, and he gets
to this fundamental bottom line question. If a machine can

(29:22):
fake being human this, well, what does it mean to
be human? If an algorithm can write a hit country
song about hardship and perseverance without a shred of actual experience,
then the deeper question becomes unavoidable. If a machine can
imitate the soul, then what is the soul? I think

(29:49):
it's an awesome question, and I think the topic is
even more interesting. It's a broader topic that he gets into.
And I do want to chat about this, but I
would welcome on the front end. I'm asking you your
thoughts on AI generated music. Does it bother you? Do
you care? Do you? I mean you wouldn't know. I

(30:12):
can't play it for you unless I edit the thing out,
and I'm not gonna put Jose through that. I'm just not.
I mean I could, I could put you through it,
and you'd have to edit the song out you want. Okay,
I'll play a bit of it when we come back,
but I would love to hear from you. Eight five

(30:34):
zero two zero five WFLA. This it's the question the
divine spark. That's what a soul is, right, That's that's
what God places in us. We're not talking about the
Holy Spirit taking residence. That's different. There's a soul inside
of a human being, a living soul, and now we

(30:57):
have music topping the charts and singing about life experiences
in such a way that it's it's claiming sole status.
I welcome you to call in. If not, I have
I have so much on this subject to talk about.

(31:18):
If you want to just kick back and listen. We'll
let you do that too, of course. But it's eight
five zero two zero five to b FLA. AI music,
Do you care? Does it matter? It's ten minutes past
the hour. Back with more here on the Morning Show
with Preston Scott.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
In Show with Preston Scott.

Speaker 7 (31:44):
Hello, Hello, anybody how hily.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
On News Radio one hundred point seven UFLA.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
We're asking your thoughts on AI produced music. I mean
a machine can produce, and soon it may produce better
than we can. That's what Glenn writes. You can calculate
faster than any human mind. It can rearrange the notes
and words a thousand human songs into something that sounds
real enough to full millions. But AI cannot care. It

(32:30):
cannot love, It cannot choose right and wrong. It cannot
forgive because it cannot be hurt. It cannot stand between
a child in danger. It cannot walk through sorrow. A
machine can imitate the sound of suffering. It cannot suffer.

Speaker 8 (32:43):
Though.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
The difference is the soul or is it? Corbyn? Thanks
for calling in, Yes, sir, Hey, thanks.

Speaker 5 (32:54):
For taking my call.

Speaker 9 (32:56):
So the issue, of course is AI. You know everybody's
starting to depend on it. A lot more. And I
think within the music industry, you know, people are overlooking
the fact that you know, the billboards are not what
they were these days. You know, they're they're run by
major corporations. They're looking to make as much money as
they can as they go out of business. You know,

(33:18):
these are the days you have independent person making music
that are making way more than a lot of the
top you know, top ten Billboard chart music industry. And
they're online and they're selling more records, they're making more songs,
they're making their own money, and the independence are slowly
starting to take over.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Okay, thanks very much. I appreciate you calling in Corbyn.
He's you know, you remember Allie was it Oliver Anthony?
I mean he became an overnight sensation with with his
song and became a thing. And I think it turned
into a bit of a nightmare for him because the

(34:01):
way he talks about it is like it was the
he almost regrets it. This is I want you to
listen to this now and again. Jose you better make
note this has this will not be in the podcast.
This is breaking rust. The name of this group Walk

(34:21):
My Walk and every bit you're about to hear is
artificial intelligence. I guess he was smoking uh virtual cigarettes
to get that gravel in his virtual voice, right, I
mean that's crazy, good tune, but crazy, Michael, what do

(34:44):
you think?

Speaker 10 (34:45):
Well, yeah, it's kind of good. But I had this
that same conversation with a client of mine. I'm a
sculptor also were construction, but uh, this guy, he was like, Oh,
he's all in AI and all that, and he's like,
pretty soon, you know, we won't need artists. I said, Oh,

(35:05):
hold on a minute. I said, AI could generate the perfect, say,
the perfect sculpture. I mean perfect, you know as in
you know all the dimensions all that. I said, I
personally believe that you talk about the divine spark and
all artists there's an innate ability inside them that is
able to put a human touch to it. And some

(35:27):
people when they start out doing artwork, they try to
do like say they're drawing a person, they try to
make it perfect. Well, humans aren't perfect, and we're not asymmetrical.
So if you divide the face in half and you
try to do left side right side match are perfect,
it's not going to look right. I think there has
to be a human touch to it, or you can

(35:48):
tell is there's something off about it. You may not
know what it is, but you can look at it
and go, there's something about it. It's like all these
AI generated videos. I can look at it and tell
their AI generator. But I just think, yeah, you can
have AI.

Speaker 11 (36:05):
It will produce our work.

Speaker 10 (36:06):
And I think.

Speaker 12 (36:09):
People will just like.

Speaker 10 (36:10):
Oh, that's perfect, that's perfect. Well, guess what, we're flawed
sinfil individuals, so you know, so what is perfect?

Speaker 1 (36:17):
Thank you, Michael. Appreciate that it's number one on the
Billboard charts for country and downloads sales. We have a
concert pianist online and we'll get to him next. Get
his thoughts on AI generated music. Seventeen past the.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
Hour the USLA on your phone with the iHeart radio
app and on hundreds of devices like Alexa, Google Home, Xbox,
and Sonos.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
Hey, so here we go and Iheart's radio station.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
Thinking about AI music work, every single part of it
is generated by artificial intelligence. And waiting on the phone
line is our good friend Marvin Goldstein.

Speaker 8 (37:12):
Hi, Marvin, good morning, drest and everything going okay for you?

Speaker 1 (37:17):
Well, other than I'm just I'm flummixed by this problem
that we're facing at least, I think it's a problem.
What do you, as a musician think of this?

Speaker 8 (37:27):
It hurts musicians. It's equal to plagiarism, it's equal to
copyright infringement. All royalties that may come from something like
this are due to every musician in the world who's
ever practiced and recorded, which it is copying from. Completely.

(37:49):
It should be disallowed. There should be laws about you
cannot do this because it is been created from all
the hard work of all of us, including myself.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
I have never heard that point, and as you're saying it,
I've looked at Jose and I just said, you are
absolutely wrong. He loves AI generated music, and I get
where he's coming from. But what you just said is right.
AI music doesn't exist without the work of all these
musicians that created the music. That's what you're driving at,

(38:23):
Isn't it complately?

Speaker 8 (38:24):
Yes, I mean, I mean really, it's like, Okay, let's
let's copy Gladys Knight. Okay, Now, she's done amazing work
for sixty years. She was here in Tallahzie recently, was
amazing even an eighty something years old. So let's discount
everything she's ever done and let's just copy exactly the

(38:45):
hits that she came in at number one with, and
that's what they're doing. It just irks me. It's so bad.
I had to call you.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
Well, copying other people's music is one thing, but this
is generating music that no one else has made, but
it's using the work of all these other musicians to
create it.

Speaker 8 (39:06):
It's totally it's totally doing that. It's it's it's just
absolutely copying things. And so I don't know who's going
to put something to make it work for musicians better.
There were there were many decades where US musicians never
got any kind of money from the work we've ever done.

(39:28):
Now there's some control over our music that we get
some royalties when people use our music, but this is outrageous.

Speaker 10 (39:35):
I know you would love the stuff.

Speaker 8 (39:36):
But it's not it's not it's not made up from
any kind of artist. It's copying from an artist.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Yeah, that's a great point, Marvin, Thank you very much.
I appreciate you calling in. Let's get to Sean Sean
good morning, say good morning for us.

Speaker 13 (39:54):
And you know, I have to agree with Marvin. It's
not just musicians either. AI impacting my industry, which I'm
an author they're pumping out AI books and that's exactly
what they're doing. It's, you know, stripping previous works to
generate what you think is original. And the sad thing

(40:15):
is there's really nothing.

Speaker 10 (40:16):
That's going to stop it.

Speaker 13 (40:17):
And I don't know if you saw the headline recently,
Coca Cola came out with their own AI generated commercials.
And the more we incentivize AI and this, the large companies,
which is really where the vast majority of your revenues
coming from, is going to not see a reason to
employ artists. But to address directly what your question is

(40:42):
about AI music and what Marvin, it's that this was
a very timely topic because I recently had a conversation
with a couple other creatives that were very about using AI,
but they didn't understand the concept that if I'm a
label producer, I'm in the business of risk taking, which
means that most of the people I'm going to try

(41:02):
and take a shot with are going to go busto.
They're not going to make it in the industry. But
if I have one person that's really talented, I don't
need to hire that person anymore. I just have to
have my AI generated prompt, listen to you, and then
I can create my own music quote unquote own music
and I never have to hire that artist.

Speaker 1 (41:21):
Jean, thank you. I appreciate it. I suspect this is
going to be a topic we're going to hit a
head on after the Thanksgiving break. Jan final caller here,
what do you think.

Speaker 7 (41:32):
Well, Kristin, I am an old fuddy duddy, I am
the older generation.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
Hey, we'll be the judge of that.

Speaker 7 (41:40):
Okay, but hey, I in general just scares me. Now.
The music, Yes, that's beautiful. You know, if you just
want to listen to music, I see nothing wrong with
doing that, except that you're hurting other people. As you've
discussed all of this. But you know, I recently attended
a little sad and are on AI given by four

(42:02):
FSU students who are graduating with their masters doctris whatever.
In this very interesting some of the interesting things that
they're doing. But when I talk to people, they say, yeah,
but think about all the advances we've made with AI
in medical and what we're doing in the medical generation.
How do we know what those advances are doing. We

(42:27):
don't know long range if the advances it's making in
the medical society are good advances. We don't know any
of these things. We don't know the results to create
any of this AI. We just don't know. And once
it goes on for long enough for us to really realize,
oh oh oh, why didn't we think of this, then

(42:49):
it's too late.

Speaker 5 (42:50):
Jan.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
Thank you. You are hitting on exactly what Glenn Beck
was talking about yesterday. Glenn said, why aren't we handling
AI the way we handle medicine. You can't just say
this drug cures this without it being tested and so forth,
unless it's a COVID shot. But his point was why

(43:16):
aren't there safeguards for AI before we unleash it? And
he shared a story that I had to look up
because I couldn't believe it, and I looked it up
and I verified it. We'll unpack all this more after
the Thanksgiving break. But great calls, great comments, and yeah,

(43:36):
how do you know those AI advancements in medicine, how
do you know they're not maybe just wanting to kill us?
Just say it.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
Decades of doing morning drive radio differently, doing it his
way like old Blue Eyes, except he has a little
more hair. The Morning Show with Preston Scott It's why

(44:07):
you listen or I yousten?

Speaker 1 (44:16):
Is it me or is it an? I don't know.
Now see there, I'm not good enough at what I
do for AI to be any any good for for
for my bosses to use to replace me, because AI

(44:39):
would be infinitely better than me. And you know it
right away. Oh that's not Preston. This seems way too intelligent.
He doesn't. It doesn't pause. And so the humanity, where's
the humanity? Now we've been we've been Jose and I

(45:02):
have been going at it pretty good the last few minutes.
And and it I'm winning him over. I'm winning him
over because I'm just I've been digging and listening to Glenn.
I got digging and the where AI is taking us,
there need to be safeguards and we don't have them

(45:24):
in place, and we better do it and that and
it needs to be there needs to be a discussion.
So we're going to force that discussion like we do
on all kinds. We talk about all kinds of things
that make people uncomfortable. It's okay, it's all right. It's
why you listen, it's why you call in, it's why
you write me, it's why you talk about it. With
your friends and family. Hey, you know this song. Preston

(45:46):
was playing this song, And what do you think about that?
Talk talk talk talk, talk talk, And what if?

Speaker 6 (45:54):
What if.

Speaker 1 (45:57):
AI really thinks the best way to help humanity is
to end it? Consider we are surrendering the development of
drugs and surgical techniques to AI. If we don't have

(46:24):
safeguards to test and approve where AI is going, how do.

Speaker 3 (46:34):
We know.

Speaker 1 (46:37):
That they're not through this medical protocol just planting a
medical time bomb in US. I just there's a lot
to chew on there. Happy Thanksgiving, Hey, while we're while
we're ruining holidays real quickly here shopping season. Jugging is growing.

(47:04):
Jugging is a crime of opportunity where bad guys follow
you to the ATM, they follow you from the atm,
they follow you from the bank, they follow you from
the store, They follow you in your car. Sometimes they
just run up to you as you are getting to
your car, sometimes as you're getting out. Sometimes they wait

(47:24):
and they bust the windows while you're in the store.
Shopping at the next store and they steal all the
stuff that you have. If you've been at the bank,
they're going to assume you have cash certainly if you've
been to the ATM, they watch you take it out
personal defense. We will talk about this with Charlie Strickland

(47:45):
in a week from Wednesday. We will absolutely be talking
about the protocols of safety over the holiday season. Guarantee it.
I'm just putting it on your radar right now. Forty
one minutes after the hour. That's a big story in
the press box. We get couple of them to day
when we come back. A great update on Orphan shape
Thing Show with Preston Scott.

Speaker 3 (48:07):
Mother No you were her Dre on News Radio one
hundred point seven, double UFLA.

Speaker 1 (48:18):
I'm going to get myself back on time here. What's
the beef in just a little bit? You ought to
be fired up for that. No shortage of things to
get off your chest, I'm sure, and we're here for you.
If you're new to the radio program. In the final
hour of the Friday show, we do what's the beef
for the final for the for half hour. We don't

(48:39):
we don't take the whole hour. We do other things,
but we will. We will take your calls and complaints
and give you a chance to feel a little bit
better over the weekend. It's important. It's our last chance
to get the beefs out before Thanksgiving. We want you
to have a very nice Thanksgiving. I'm thankful. I'm thankful

(49:03):
that you people are so generous and so kind. Okay,
you over there, you need a little work. Okay, I'm
just saying now, I'm just teasing. I said earlier through
the week that woo, we were slowing down, and then
we had a tough Monday Tuesday, and then Wednesday things

(49:24):
picked up, and then Thursday things picked up big. So
we are nine hundred dollars away from our midway point goal.
And Thanksgiving is the midway point. The Thanksgiving holiday is
our halfway mark. On our Giving season, we transition from

(49:46):
Operation Thanksgiving to the Spirit of Christmas, blessing people and
in this case children, eight little girls that do not
have a mom or a dad because they both died.
Our goal was to raze twenty seven five hundred dollars
by Thanksgiving. We are nine hundred dollars away. Anyone of

(50:08):
you want to put us over the top Orphanshade dot
com and if a few of you want to put
us over the top, will be on our way to
the next half of the goal, which is insane, fifty
five thousand dollars. It's just I'm just blessed by all

(50:28):
of you and your generosity and your selflessness and uh
and so if you can give, go to Orphanshade dot com.
It's very simple. Orphanshade dot com. There's gonna you can
learn about the ministry there. We've worked with them before.
In twenty twenty two we built home number three. This

(50:51):
is Home number six. It's an ambitious goal. We're gonna.
We just prayed about it and said let's go for it.
And so yeah, click the donate button, Choose how much
you want to give, how often you want to give,

(51:12):
and there's a dropdown menu. Please select in that drop
down menu build a house and in the comments put
house number six. And for those of you in the
Panama City area, we still have a two thousand dollars
channel challenge sitting on that right there. Think about this.
If you're a listener in Panama City and in the

(51:33):
area surrounding Panama City, a county touching Bay County, you're
here in the show. You've been blessed in your business.
If you want to give two thousand dollars and just
put House number six Panama City Challenge. There's another two
thousand that's going to be added to it immediately. We
have a two thousand dollars match waiting, and that gets

(51:54):
us to our halfway goal and puts US three thousand
dollars in the plus towards the second half our goal.
So we're already starting next week ahead. So whatever you
can do, whether it's five dollars, ten dollars, twenty dollars,
one hundred dollars, it doesn't just you'll be blessed. You

(52:17):
will play a part in providing a home for a child,
and it'll make a difference. And that's what we're all about.
Forty seven minutes past, let's get ready for what's the Beef?
We'll do that.

Speaker 3 (52:32):
Next from the Spin. Don't know what to believe?

Speaker 2 (52:37):
Clear the Fog The Morning Show with Preston Scott on
News Radio one hundred point seven WFLA.

Speaker 1 (52:52):
Bull lines are open and Hosea's standing by literally standing by.
I mean he's standing by the phones, so he's standing by.
We have two lines open eight five zero two zero
five to WFLA. Yeah, I have to wait a little bit,
but What's the Beef is coming up? Next gotta love

(53:15):
Rafael Warnock of Georgia, Come on beaches, time to find
yourself a new US senator. Between January and September of
this year, he spent approximately three hundred and sixty thousand
dollars on security surfaces from executive protection agencies. I don't

(53:36):
know if that comes from his congressional budget or from
his fundraising. I have no idea. I don't care. Here's
why I don't care, because he spends a good bit
of his time trying to take guns from us, and
yet he doesn't have a problem spending since twenty twenty

(53:57):
two point seven million dollars on private security. If this
doesn't scream do as I say, not as I do,
I don't know what does. Do you have three hundred
and sixty thousand dollars laying around to pay for security
for seven months? Eight months? No? So you know what

(54:21):
we do? We spend about seven hundred bucks, get ourselves
a good side arm, and get our concealed carry training,
and we get a membership to Talent Range and we
and we learned to proficiently protect ourselves. And this dirt
bag wants to keep it from keep us from doing it. Uh, huh, nope, nope,

(54:43):
We're gonna call out the hip hypocrisy of that kind
of stuff. And then how about this. Do you know
about Congresswoman Sheila Triphilus McCormick from Florida. She has been
charged with allegedly stealing millions of dollars in disaster relief
funds to make illegal campaign contributions. Florida Democrat allegedly conspired

(55:11):
to steal five million dollars of FEMA money with her
brother and other co defendants. They routed the funds through
multiple accounts to disguise their source. A significant a portion
of the misappropriated funds were used as candidate contributions to
her twenty twenty one congressional campaign or their personal benefit.

(55:36):
This is a Democrat from Florida in Congress, alleged innocent
until proven guilty, alleged to have stolen millions of relief
dollars that were meant for others. This is the mindset

(55:58):
that comes with the entitled of being an elected member
of Congress, and this is how Democrats view things. But
it's okay, sorry, yeah, it's fine. In what world is
this okay? There's hey, look, Republicans are guilty of doing

(56:22):
stupid stuff and taking money. It just happens more often
with Democrats, just does. And in this case, oh man,
I have not gotten around to playing Jasmine Crockett. You
got to hear her talking about Jeffrey Epstein, the money
that doctor Jeffrey Epstein donated to Donald Trump, and then

(56:47):
it was pointed out to her wrong, Jeffrey Epstein, you moron,
And then she went on TV to try to cover herself.
I was just making a point. Yeah, you know. The
point you are making is you is stupid. That's the
point you're making. It's unbelievable. No, it's it's next level dumb,

(57:11):
and it's an embarrassment. And people elect these kinds of people. I, well,
we elect who we are, not you and me, though
we don't do that. What's the beef is next date
five zero two zero five to b f l A.

(57:48):
I get some technical technical difficulties here with our call
screen or software, so I'm gonna try. Uh, I gotta
reboot the software here, give me a second. It's what's
the Beef Friday here on the More Show with Preston Scott.
And tell me if you're seeing the flash over there,
Budd Okay, we need you to re enter those names,
and we should be good. We've got full lines up.

(58:12):
We just one drop, so we got one line open
eight five zero two zero five WFLA eight five zero
two zero five WFLA, and we're taking your complaints. Whatever
you want to complain about. It is fair game. We
need you to sorry, we are We're just taking your

(58:36):
calls on whatever it is you want to complain about.
And it can be something out of the news, it
can be something out of your life. If it's important
to you, it matters to us. And so we go
back to the lines right now. Eight five zero two
zero five WFLA. George, thanks for calling in. What is
the beef?

Speaker 12 (58:54):
First of all, congratulations on fifty five d shows, Preston.

Speaker 1 (58:58):
How about that?

Speaker 12 (58:59):
And hey, I've been around since day one. I hadn't
listened to all of course, but uh, and so this
is my first complaint of this type in fifty five hundred.
Chose because I know this is not You're you have
nothing to do with this. I hear that. If I
hear that supershure dot com one more time on, I'll

(59:19):
put number two pencils in my ears and go inward. Uh,
I turned the radio off down or whatever. I don't
even know what it's advertising. I don't want to know.
I don't want to. I don't want to. That is
the most irritating ad. Uh, it's not the old marketing thing.
If we're talking about it's successful, it's horrible. Uh, it's

(59:40):
that that's I hate it. I hate it.

Speaker 1 (59:44):
How do you really feel about the whole thing, though, George?

Speaker 12 (59:47):
I hate it.

Speaker 1 (59:50):
Thank you, buddy, appreciate the phone call. Oh boy, eight
five zero two zero five w f l A. Let's
go to and and thanks for calling in. What's the beef?

Speaker 14 (01:00:01):
My beef is? Where is the Christmas spirit going to
these days? When I was younger, the day after Halloween,
we put up our Christmas lights. Everything was there for
everyone to see. You can go by Rose and Rose
and Roses streets and never see anything. But there's one
person down our road who has the biggest heart in

(01:00:24):
the whole world, and she does it for children. And
her whole house is lit with lights. She has thirty
two blow ups in her yard. Her yard is lit
up with lights. She looks like the National Ampoon's Christmas vacation.
I'm telling you you've got to see it.

Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
That's you and I have a different outlook on this.

Speaker 14 (01:00:47):
And the children at the Dollar General get all excited
when she starts to put up the lights and I
start doing what they're space to do.

Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
I get it. But you know, here's the thing. My
life life experience must be very different than yours, because
in my life it is traditional that it's the day
after Thanksgiving that the Christmas stuff goes up.

Speaker 14 (01:01:11):
Well, you gotta roll tide, and you gotta do it
on the bye weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
I do not have to roll tide. I do not
take that back and take it back. Eight five zero
two zero five WFLA, Alexandra, I want to give you
enough time. Just stand by Jake. You'll be after Alexandra.
Eight five zero two zero five WFLA. We're gonna get

(01:01:35):
ourselves in order around here. It's What's the b Friday
On the Morning Show with Preston Scott.

Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
Be surprised if you laugh. We suggest you use the
restroom before you listen, or invest in a thirty foot catheter.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
Yes, I use it.

Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
All the time.

Speaker 2 (01:01:57):
This is the Morning Show with Preston's Scott.

Speaker 1 (01:02:05):
Ten Past the Hours, The Morning Show. Good to be
with you this morning. He's Osiah and Preston taking calls.
We have one line open eight five zero two zero
five WFLA eight five zero two zero five ninety three
fifty two. I haven't had a chance to say this.
No profanity, don't make it personal, and no monologuing. Just
there you go. That's where we want to be. We do,

(01:02:29):
from time to time have to warren callers about certain things,
but Alexandra, you're not one of them. Thanks for calling in.

Speaker 15 (01:02:38):
Going on with Greg. If I have to hear that
darn advertisement of super Suore, I am going to scream. No,
I'm going to scream right now.

Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (01:02:57):
And by the way, that jingle that is torture, that
is not getting marketing, that is getting us to turn
off our radio. I have to pray to God every
time that that advertisement comes on to give me the
strength to keep the station on. And but I hate
that advertisement.

Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
Yeah. And by the way, it was George, I apologize.
I just you know, I didn't want to have another
beef come up because you got the name wrong, you know,
just trying to protect them.

Speaker 15 (01:03:29):
I'm trying to in the fog.

Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
Oh, thank you for that. Thank you for that. Alexandra,
we hear you. And all I can tell you is
I have sent a message up stream begging for help. Okay,
that's all I can tell you. That's it's it's what
I've done. But thank you for that. People, turn on
your lights. There are places the visibilities one hundred feet.

(01:03:55):
The fog is evil and it's dangerous, and there are
people driving without lights on. Put your lights on. And
before I get to Jake, Jake, hang in there just
a second here, memo to the guy running in the

(01:04:17):
one hundred foot fog down Thomasville Road. On the road, Sir,
you are taking your life in your hands. He's not
wearing a flashlight, he's not wearing anything reflective, and he's
on the road. There's a three foot wide sidewalk off

(01:04:38):
the road. How about running on that. I don't think
you're gonna encounter too many pedestrians at four in the morning,
you know what I'm saying. Wow, Okay, I feel better, Jake,
What about you? What's the beef?

Speaker 16 (01:04:53):
Good more impression? My beef would be the AI. We're
at a point of no return already.

Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:05:01):
You go to Google, you go.

Speaker 16 (01:05:02):
To any search engine, and it's all powered by e
I Now, so the concept of what can we do,
The answer is really nothing. When you shut the entire
Internet down across the entire world, and it's still gonna
be buried in somebody's server.

Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
Yeah, but I think we still have to make the effort.
We gotta try.

Speaker 11 (01:05:19):
I mean, right.

Speaker 16 (01:05:21):
And my second thing is I changed the I love
your radio station, Preston, but I changed it. When I
hear super sure, I absolutely changed the radio station.

Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
At this point, Oh boy, that hurts. That hurts. I
hope you come back.

Speaker 16 (01:05:34):
I mean, you clearly compatizing money, but you're losing people.

Speaker 6 (01:05:38):
I know.

Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
I've listen. You're preaching to the choir on that one.
There's just it's a I can only tell you from
what I've learned. It's a national account and we don't
have any say in the matter. But we're going to try,
which it's just I don't know.

Speaker 16 (01:05:54):
If they say it ten times, fifteen times, twenty turs,
that's how I give up.

Speaker 1 (01:05:58):
Yeah, I understand, I understand, and I appreciate it. Thank you, Jake.
Thanks for the phone call. All right, Moses, you're up.
What's the beef?

Speaker 5 (01:06:05):
Hey Tiaa HASI morning? Good morning again again again. We
find this all these countries across the world, and we
can't get out repidly.

Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
We're not talking about that, Moses. You were warned about
that before you called in. I don't want to hear
it anymore. It's not it's not it's not gonna happen. Brother.
We're not gonna sit and listen to you scream that
you want your reparations. Dude. I can point to so

(01:06:40):
many people in this country that are black that are
offended by what you're saying. And I'm not gonna do it,
not gonna do it. This is my show. It's not
your show. We're not doing it. Don't call back unless
you want to complain about something else. Just don't. You're
gonna be screened for a while. And this is how
it goes. I am the Iyahtola of this radio program.

(01:07:03):
It's my show and we're just not and you know what, friends,
sorry about this, but here's the thing. We said something
to them ahead of it. We said, we're not talking
about reparations again, Moses. We're just not gonna do it.
I don't want to hear it. People don't want.

Speaker 3 (01:07:21):
To hear it.

Speaker 1 (01:07:23):
It's old, busted rhetoric. And you're not helping yourself with
this constant anchor around your neck. You're just not you're
hurting your own life by holding onto this. So when
someone violates the trust we place because I'm surrendering this time.

(01:07:44):
When someone violates that trust, they've committed a real, real
sin on this program. We don't have any but that's one.
When we ask you to not talk about a given
topic and you do anyway, that's it. Eight five zero
two zero five w f L A one more segment.

(01:08:05):
What's the Beef is next on the Morning Ship with
Preston Scottsla.

Speaker 4 (01:08:12):
On your phone with the iHeart Radio app and on
hundreds of devices like Alexa, Google Home, Xbox and so noos.

Speaker 3 (01:08:19):
This is chrisy and Iheart's Radio season.

Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
All right, final three callers here. I got to get
out on time, and so I want to make sure
I've got time for these three callers who've been patient. Jose,
you're up. What's the Beef?

Speaker 11 (01:08:39):
Good morning Press, and you're a daily weekly inspiration to
my life. And I'm a fella, long time follower. But
my beef today is with the gentleman Martin o'vaille. He's
a great gentleman. But I just don't understand why I
can't where the garnent go. That's not beef. The black

(01:08:59):
and the gray and the white. I don't understand it.

Speaker 1 (01:09:03):
Right now, you're talking about the clothes he wears.

Speaker 11 (01:09:08):
Yes, he doesn't wear the Garden gold like Bobby Bowden.
He wears Dray black. Turkois.

Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
Yeah, you know, there's a there's a part of me
that when he was a play caller, I would understand that,
because when you're a play caller, you need the guys
to see you on the sideline sometimes if the communication
is not as well heard. But uh, I'm not even
I've actually not thought of that. That's that's an interesting observation. Ose.
I appreciate you calling in friend, and we go now

(01:09:37):
to Nancy. Nancy, you're up, what's the beef?

Speaker 14 (01:09:40):
Hi?

Speaker 17 (01:09:41):
Well?

Speaker 18 (01:09:41):
Broken?

Speaker 17 (01:09:42):
You know, the broken homes are the worst, have a
worse effect on children. And one of the biggest reasons
for broken homes is money problems. I think in school
started in kindergarten. They should start to train the children
how to budget. And you know, you can make a

(01:10:02):
couple of little pennies and then you have to buy
something and you put one in saving and if they
started this, people won't have so many problems with money
in their later years if this has started young enough.

Speaker 1 (01:10:15):
You know what it's called. It's called consumer math, Nancy,
And you're right, we don't teach that much anymore. There
are some places some schools still do that. We started
getting consumer math when I was in middle school. We
were investing in the faux stock market. When I was
in middle school, it was awesome. Get you were giving
a fictitious sum of money and you had to research

(01:10:38):
companies and invest in them. And you would get the
newspaper to see how the stock market was doing, to
see how your investments were doing. You started. I started
that in high school or in middle school, and then
in high school it went beyond that. They had an
advanced consumer math that you had to take with the
you know, the basics on algebra one, algebra two, geometry,
trig and all that stuff. But uh yeah, final caller,

(01:11:00):
here is Mike, Mike here up. What's the beef?

Speaker 18 (01:11:04):
Hey Preston, Hey, my beef is with Moses Man. He
just set his back. I guess I didn't get a
chance to talk with him. And I'm the one who
called a couple of weeks ago. Uh and made you day,
I think. But he called and and he didn't respect

(01:11:27):
the time. This is sacred and we need. This is
the town hall. This is this is where we need
to heal and and get together and and make things happen. Uh.
So I want to invite again more liberals to go
in and I'll try and do my part and get
more to come on your show.

Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
That would be that would be tremendous.

Speaker 18 (01:11:49):
And and I want to speak in real quick. I
love your segment on how to Eat Your Boys.

Speaker 7 (01:11:55):
Uh.

Speaker 18 (01:11:56):
It's one of my favorites.

Speaker 1 (01:11:57):
Mainly minute.

Speaker 18 (01:11:59):
Yep, mainly minute.

Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
That's the one there you go. See. See, there's so
many things that people on both sides of the political
spectrum can agree on that matter, right and and and
it doesn't happen without talking. But sadly, as we saw
back in September, people don't like people talking so much anymore.
If they don't like their ideas, they try to kill them.

Speaker 18 (01:12:23):
And I knew it too, you know, I just forgot
it was the one that I remember teaching them how
to throw a ball. I taught my older son, but
I split in the middle of my younger son coming up,
and I thought, shoot, I forgot to teach him that.
So I got on it, and we had remembered that
we'd thrown a football together, so I'd started, but you

(01:12:45):
reminded me to finish it.

Speaker 1 (01:12:46):
So good.

Speaker 18 (01:12:47):
That has nothing to do with politics.

Speaker 12 (01:12:49):
It's just raising my boys.

Speaker 6 (01:12:50):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
Way there you go. Absolutely, Hey, thanks very much. I
appreciate have a great thanksgivin brother, and and thanks for
calling in. Norman wrote in good morning Press, and thank
you for putting Moses in his place. I'm black, and
I'm happy to live in America, the greatest country in
the world, a place where if you get off your
butt and do something, you can be anything you want. Godspeed,

(01:13:11):
love your show, get to work. People that a boy,
Norman Norm I know who he is by virtue of
his emails. He's been a listener for many, many years.
Delightful gentleman. And again I point to people like Norman
and the millions of other blacks in this country that

(01:13:32):
have been successful. Talk to somebody that's moved here from
one of the countries in Africa and tell them that
this country sucks and owes you, and you let me
know that works out for you twenty seven minutes past
the hour from the ground up, Jasmine. Wait from Esposito next, wherever.

Speaker 2 (01:13:54):
You may be, from Florida, Sunshine State to New York
ste forget me scratch that. New York's now hopeless. At
least the city is for the rest. We're your morning show.
Good morning show with Preston Scott.

Speaker 1 (01:14:15):
Let's talk about our yards, landscaping, plants, and in this case,
Christmas trees, the dews and dons of Christmas trees that
are not artificial but the real kind. And joining us
from Esposito's Garden center is our friend, Jasmine Way, Jasmine,

(01:14:36):
how are you welcome back?

Speaker 19 (01:14:38):
Oh, I'm living the dream. Good morning.

Speaker 5 (01:14:40):
It's lovely to be back.

Speaker 1 (01:14:42):
Hey live living Christmas trees. Let's talk about the things
that people should know about. First, keeping those fresh cut
trees as fresh as possible through the holiday season.

Speaker 19 (01:14:56):
Oh, of course, you know, most people don't know there
are more than one type of Christmas tree. You don't
have to just get a fraser fur. There are other kinds.
And if you're trying to do you know, needle retention,
go with a different type of Christmas tree.

Speaker 14 (01:15:10):
A fraser fur makes a mess.

Speaker 19 (01:15:11):
Although it smells lovely. A noble and a Nordman are
their West Coast trees. Their needle retention is unbeatable. I mean,
you can keep those things green and you don't even
have to do anything, which is phenomenal. The Nordmans almost
have this like really soft blue needle and it's kind
of weepy, which is adorable. It's a very glassy tree.

(01:15:34):
The nobles strong and sturdy.

Speaker 17 (01:15:37):
For if you have heavy glass bowls.

Speaker 19 (01:15:39):
Or ornaments, that one's wonderful, and both of them you
don't have to do anything to keep them green and
keep them beautiful. A Fraser firm my recommendation is some
type of tree preserved. We sell a wonderful one. And
when we first got them, we were like, this is
not real, this is not going to help. So we
tried it and a tree that we put up in

(01:16:00):
our gazebo and not sing with green all the way
till March. And yes, we left our tree up till March,
because we're those kind of people.

Speaker 1 (01:16:09):
What was that first kind, you said, noble? And what's
the other.

Speaker 19 (01:16:12):
Kind a Nordman? Those are the super classy. We be
blue green, soft needled Christmas tree that most people don't
know exist.

Speaker 20 (01:16:21):
And I don't know why spell that because I'm a
Nordman n r d m A n Okay, good to note.

Speaker 1 (01:16:32):
Now, what about the living Christmas trees, the kind that
maybe you'll you'll decorate and then drop in the yard somewhere.

Speaker 19 (01:16:39):
Oh yeah, so we can't grow ford here in Tallahassee.
It's unfortunate but true. But you can grow things that
grow into a Christmas tree shape and take the look
of a Christmas tree. Okay, So we like our rabieties,
which is a beautiful green again almost weeping Christmas tree
looking tree. The green giant is my favorite.

Speaker 16 (01:17:03):
It gets so huge and you could.

Speaker 19 (01:17:04):
Buy them small, plant them in the ground. Most people
enjoy them in the house and then after the season
plant them in the ground. Another one would probably be, oh,
we've got some fun pines that grow here. They only
get ten feet tall, so it's not that monstrous pine
that you put in your yard and then you worry
about one day. Taken out your house. It's a ten

(01:17:26):
foot gorgeous green pine tree. And they do they make
a little pine cones, which is just the cute They
decorate themselves, which is just the cutest thing.

Speaker 1 (01:17:34):
What about some of the plants that are popular as
gifts this time of year. The point setti is in
the Christmas cactus. Any tip tips to care for them?

Speaker 19 (01:17:44):
Yes, point SETAs. Never water them from the top. They
don't like to get water on their like they're not blooms,
it's just a leaf color change. But even just their leaves,
they don't like to get water, so they're bottom water only.
I think that's the biggest mistake that everybody makes with
a point setta. Also, they like to be inside if
at all possible. They last much much longer that way.

Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
What if you do plant them outside? Because I I
for years just put them in a massive pot in
my yard and then they turn color at the season
every year. What's the trick to watering them? If you
if you do, decide to give it a shot.

Speaker 19 (01:18:19):
Planning them only water towards the bottom if you can.
The skies are gonna take them either way. You know
they're gonna water on their own. But if you can
water only shove the hose inner knees, water the bottom
of them. Okay, And if you've point set it to
grow here, all the power to you.

Speaker 17 (01:18:35):
I haven't been able.

Speaker 9 (01:18:37):
So if you can.

Speaker 19 (01:18:38):
You may just be a master gardener above me.

Speaker 1 (01:18:41):
Ay, ay, last, what flowers, what vegetables can we plant
in our gardens this time of year? That'll that'll last
through the winter.

Speaker 19 (01:18:51):
Ooh, it's the perfect time for brask If you like
like broccoli and cabbage, collard green, any hearty deep green.
They're getting a little too. Lettuce, they're gonna freeze. But
anything that has that hardy green, leave, go ahead and
plant it.

Speaker 1 (01:19:07):
And flowers ooh.

Speaker 19 (01:19:10):
Still, pansies, biolas and snapdragons. Those are your best friends
right now. They hold up much harder than anything else.
And if you have shade, go with a Litton rose
or a cycleman. Those are gonna be the prettiest ones
to plant. And the colors just beyond wonderful.

Speaker 1 (01:19:29):
Jasmine, thanks for the time and appreciate it. Have a
great Thanksgiving you.

Speaker 19 (01:19:34):
Too, my dear. See you next week.

Speaker 1 (01:19:36):
All righty, Jasmine, wait Esposito's Garden Center. You're in Tallahassee.
It's forty one past the hour.

Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
Forget to subscribe to the Conversations with Preston Scott podcast
on the iHeartRadio app. Welcome to the Morning Show with
Preston Scott.

Speaker 6 (01:20:02):
Expanding listen.

Speaker 21 (01:20:30):
One mo.

Speaker 1 (01:21:30):
Yeah, I ran a little long there. It's okay, good
advice on your trees and plants. And I didn't know
that about that Norman and I knew about the noble,
but I did not know about the go figure. Okay,

(01:21:51):
I'm an artificial tree guy. Sorry, I just I know.
I just no the real trees. They're great outside, but
inside it's now no, I know a good news segment
here Miami gardens. Back a week or so ago, the
Chief of Police gave an order to the Traffic Enforcement

(01:22:14):
Division and said, okay, we got to get people to
focus a little bit. And so they started pulling people over,
you know, seat belts, turn signals, not being on driving
a little too fast. But instead of giving out tickets,
they gave out turkeys. Serious chief even went out there

(01:22:40):
with them. You were speeding fifteen miles an hour with
a speed limit, but handed her a turkey. Not going
to give you a ticket today. I want to give
you a turkey for Thanksgiving, he said. We're happy to
be able to bless people with a turkey, and hopefully
the positive interaction will will create some good will and

(01:23:06):
if we can get them to say yeah, I need
to slow down, or I need to use my turn signal,
or I've got to put my seat belt on. He said.
It's a win. He said, so, because it's Thanksgiving, we
decided we're not going to give out some tickets, We're
going to give out some turkeys. And so they gave

(01:23:27):
out sixty over a period of a few hours. And
you might say, well, that's that's really not that many.
I don't know. I think it's a good deal, you know,
And I'll tell you why, because police have been under

(01:23:48):
attack for years around here, not just I'm talking about
in general in America and anything that reminds folks that
these men and women are really doing a good thing
and they're putting their lives on the line for us,
that's good news. Here in the Morning Show with Preston Scott,

(01:24:31):
time for dad joke. This got sent in by Mark
this week last week, ready, late last night, a man
was hit with a violin, then hit with a clarinet,
and finally hit with a French horn. Police say it

(01:24:53):
was an orchestrated attack. That's a good one. Gil Mark
had a boy that a boy.

Speaker 6 (01:25:07):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:25:08):
