Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Ruger Sfaar is one of the trim is threeh
eight modern sporting rifles available more power but lighter in
the field and range. See how light it is at
Ruger dot com.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
He was the first and he's still the best. For
thirty years, Tom Gresham has been your trusted source on
all things ballistic, new guns, Second Amendment, personal protection, be
part of it, Paul, Tom Talk Gun. Now here's Tom.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Oh boy, do we have a lot to talk about today. Hey,
I'm Tom Gresham, I'm your host. And this is what
we call this gun talk because that's what we do.
We talk about guns and the Second Amendment, n hunting
and self defense and castillo carry and everything that has
to do with guns and AMMO and holsters and scopes
and all the other stuff that goes with It's a lot.
I mean, come on, it's just a lot. That's why
(00:53):
we can talk about it so much. And if you
want to be a part of it, if you like
to join us here. If you have what we call
a ranger for a gun, you've been out shooting something
you bought, somebody you took out to the rain, just
an experience you had, well, by all means, give us
a call. We would love to hear your story. The
number here is easy to remember. It's Tom Talk Gun
(01:14):
Pretty simple. Okay, a lot of things going on right now. Obviously,
if you are listening to this live, you know that
the Charlie Kirk funeral is going on, and I'll have
something to say about that later in the show. It
doesn't exactly impact the subject matter of this show, but
there are some things we can learn from that, maybe
some personal takeaways for each of us, and we'll be
talking about that as well. We have some new guns
(01:35):
to talk about, and some action going on on the
concealed carry front, well actually not conceal carry. Well, let's
just bring in right now, Luke McCoy, he's with USA
Carry and look for Florida just did wasn't concealed carry
at all? Was it?
Speaker 4 (01:53):
It was that they just struck down their open carry band.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
So they banned open carry where you could carry didn't
have to conceal a gun, and they struck that down.
And for some people say, well I don't really want to,
you know, open carry, that doesn't matter to me. Well, look,
even if you don't want to open carry, conceivably if
you were concealed carrying and your gun somehow became unconcealed,
(02:19):
became open where people could see it, you could conceivably
get charged with a crime for open carrying. Up to
this point, right right, there.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
Was certain circumstances in sort of where like if you're
going hunting fishing, going to the range to and from
you could open carry, but just you know, going to
the seven eleven to get a you know whatever, you
couldn't open carry had it had to be concealed carry
with a permit until I don't remember the year, but
they did pass ushal carry recently as well.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yeah, and the open carry thing I think goes into
effect on September twenty six, so it's not quite there yet.
So just be aware of be informed by that. And look,
I was just thinking about this. And of course, you know,
Hugh be and USA Carry. You understand this way back
what thirty five years ago or something, when Florida really
led the charge with concealed carry would be able to
(03:13):
get a permit. What we heard then was, oh, every
fender bender will be a shootout, there will be blood
in the streets. Of course it never happened, didn't happen
in any of the other states and just.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
This week, same thing right now, isn't it right?
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (03:31):
I mean half the country, more than half the country's
constitutional carry and you know it's not the world wild
West and more than half the country.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
So yeah, and they're saying the same thing about open care.
The Difference Group came out and said, oh, you know,
this will be terrible. There will be all sorts of
crime and going what because people could see the guns.
You were based off exactly off of what it never
happened before. What makes you think is going to happen now? Right?
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Exactly?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
All right? So, but I do want to ask you
that I saw at least one report where a I
guess or maybe a retired police officer in Florida said, well,
you know, this is just going to get citizens killed
because the police are going to be confused and basically
if they see you, care to god, they're just going
to shoot you. What in the world is that about.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
It doesn't make any sense to me. I mean I
kind of I did a follow up article and kind
of was trying to find incidents where that happened, and
it has happened. I mean, you know that where somebody
responded to a threat and police call and see it
and that he was shot. Like not many times from
what I've found. But if you're just open caring, you're
(04:39):
not threat. So there's got to be a reason to
respond to that threat, right, So why would police just
be shooting people? Yeah, it's just I think it's a
dumb statement.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
It's it is dumb. Well, and the times that it
has happened, it's been like in the middle of a
shoot another type of shooting, right, and the good guy
going on. There's a lot of stuff going on in
the cops and trying to figure out who the bad
guy is to come into a situation, here's a guy
with a gun and somebody get shot. I mean, it
has happened. We know that. Let's back up here. We
ought to tell people what is USA carry.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
USA Carry is basically a free resource for anyone that
raced and sealed or open carriers carries a gun. We
started off with information on how to get your permit,
they guys and reciprocity maps back in two thousand and
seven and just have evolved since then. We're covering self
defense incidents, news now video content kind of run the
(05:38):
whole gamut of things.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
So, okay, that's available at USA carry dot Com. And
you've got some really good concetial carry maps. I was
just looking at that. If you can click on your
state and see where your permit would be good and
also what other states. What I was amazed at when
I went to the permits honored by state, and I
live at Idaho. I clicked on Idaho, and I know
(06:01):
honors everybody's permit. And then I clicked on California and
they don't honor anybody's permit.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Imagine that. So you're moving to California.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Yeah, of course I'll be replacing all those other people
that are coming to Idaho, right, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Yeah, I just click on Idaho. In the whole country's blue,
which means they accept everybody's permit. Imagine that. And yeah, exactly,
California is all red.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
It is exactly the opposite. It's just an amazing thing.
What are you hearing in terms of general attitude of
the public, in terms of are there more people deciding
to carry? Because we used to say more people getting permits,
but now in more than half the states, you don't
need a permit to carry concealed, right.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
I've noticed around some of the people I've been associating with,
like more not all gun carriers and whatnot. I've noticed
more people that I would say like aligned on the
left a little bit, are starting to carry guns. We've
got a neighbor here next to my girlfriend who is
I would say left, and recently he's like, I kind
(07:05):
of like the way you talk about handling a firearm,
carrying a firearm, you're not just I want to go
shoot somebody. He's like, can we go shooting? I'm like, yeah,
whenever you want to go, let's let's go out to
the dosn't go shooting. Like that's the person I want
to take shooting and show them you know how to
handle a gun and get him involved.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Right. So, but you know what's interesting and here and
what you just said was he came to this having
been told those of us who carry guns are crazy,
and what we start off every day hoping that we
get a chance to shoot somebody.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
No, I carry pepper straight. So that's an option that
I don't have to shoot somebody. I don't want to
shoot somebody justified or not. I don't want to have
to go through all that. No, I mean, I was
just that I was just that a little place called
Rag's Ready for CCW Safe their force on force event,
and we went over a lot of the haftermen after shooting,
(08:02):
and it's a lot they want to go through any
of that.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
No, but it is interesting that to a lot of
people who don't know, they really do think that those
of us who carry a piece of safety gear, which
is what I consider my personal gun, they think that
we do that hoping we get a chance to shoot somebody.
And then it takes them a while. Once they get
(08:27):
to know you or get to know me and hear
us talk. After a while they go, you're not at
all what I was told you were going to be.
It's almost like they feel like they've been betrayed and
they have actually haven't they Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
I mean they have this thought in their mind of oh,
he's a gun nut whatever, you know, and they have
this general generality that of that, and they get to
know this and like, okay, well not just a gun
nut like you said, it's another safety equipment. I'm carrying
it not to shoot somebody. I'm carrying it to protect
myself and my loved ones and to get home at
(09:00):
the end of the day. I'm not trying to be
a cop. I'm not trying to miss anything. I just
want to get home to.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
My family And to your point, as part of your training,
you also learned how to not have to shoot somebody,
how to get out of a situation, how to d escalate.
It's all part of the training. And what I have
found is that the more training that people get, the
less likely they are to ever use it because I
understand what's involved with it.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
Yeah, our first scenario at that force on source event
with CCW Safe, I had to option to have pepper spray,
and at the last second, for some reason, I put
it down because it didn't have a clip on it
and it wasn't sitting in my pocket like it would
normally do, so I thought it'd be fumbling for it.
But that's literally the incident. I would have used pepper
(09:48):
spray into then drawing my gun if there was somebody.
We were on private property, somebody was not supposed to
be there. Not to go into too much detail, but
I wound up drawing my gun. But if I had
pepper spray, I would have pepper sprayed and gotten out
of there. So I like having options.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Yeah, exactly right, Having a light, having pepper spray, having
a gun, having a plan, and having options all a
good deal. Uh Luke McCoy, I appreciate your time. Would
tell people go take a look at usacarry dot com.
You got some really good articles, some great state guys,
conceal carry maps, and a lot of information there for
people who are interested in this subject.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
Thank you very much for having me and uh yeah, thanks, Van,
appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (10:29):

Com, Hi I'm Kim roady From. California welcome back to Gun,
top the place where we celebrate all things, shooting hunting
and The Second. Amendment all, right welcome.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
BACK i got lucky this. MORNING i h was going
to buy a gun AND i. Didn't, WELL i try.
To it was a rifle for sale on one of
the online, places AND i had looked at it for
a couple of days and, thought, okay you, know it's
a little more do you want to, spend but it's
(13:30):
what you've been looking, For so go ahead do. It?
Okay SO i send my note toor, Right i'll buy the.
Gun i'll call you On. Monday we'll make arrangements for. Payment,
FORTUNATELY i got a note back from, says, well it's
already been. Sold darn it will? SHOOT i, mean, yes,
GREAT i don't know HOW i feel about. This BUT
(13:51):
i didn't get the. Gun that's. Okay it's not LIKE
i needed the. Gun, fortunately need is not really the,
issue is. It it was just SOMETHING i. Wanted so
maybe another, time all. Right so we had this interesting
weird story happen this, week and frankly we Had Franklin
army scheduled to be on the show today talked about
(14:12):
this great announcement they have with this new rifle firearm
whatever it. Is it called The. Antithesis it's basically it's
what we would normally. Say it's AN SBR ar FIFTEEN
sbr short bail. Rifle AND i guess they have been
(14:32):
working with through, around fighting WITH atf for at least
a couple of years on. This now take this as
with a great. Assault i'm going to try to explain
it as BEST i understand. It it's legal. Stuff but
evidently in the original LAW nfa, law a short bare
(14:54):
rifle would be a rifle that is designed with the
wording says designed to fire a single projectile only with
one pull the. Trigger AND i Guess Franklin army looked
at that and, said, huh so this is designed to
fire a single projectile what if we had An air
(15:16):
fifteen that was designed to fire a load that has
multiple projectiles when you pull the, trigger and there are
several loads out there where we have two projectiles come.
Out so they simply designed it and said this is
designed to handle those. Loads it'll also shoot the single
projector loads like regular two, two three or five five,
six but it's designed to handle the multiple projectile, loads
(15:38):
which according to a very strict reading of the way
the law was, written means it's not AN. Sbr it
can have a barrel shorter than sixteen inches and be.
Legal AND i guess they got an agreement FROM atf
finally only Because Donald trump got elected And Pam bondi
is the ag and they got this, done and they
(16:01):
had their letter and they made the big announcement this
week that they have they've blown up THE nfa and
they have this shorter, barrel shorter, stock shorter overall length
that normally you would have to do the tax stamp
for they would fall UNDER, nfa The National Fires, act
(16:21):
and now it. Doesn't and they're selling this thing called the.
Antithesis and they sent out all these releases and we
were scheduled to have them on the, show and then
all of a, sudden it's, like, whoop wait a, Minute
THE atf came back and contact him and, said wait a,
minute we know we agreed to. That this is me,
now not them me saying. This my impression is THAT
(16:44):
atf came back, said, well we, yeah we agreed to,
That but now it looks like other people could actually
do the same, thing not just you. Guys, well, yeah
because that's the way the law is, written which means
that this fire on the antithesis would be. Legal it
would not be a short bare, rifle it would not
(17:04):
be under the auspices of The National Firems. Act you
would not have to pay the well two hundred dollars
at least to the end of the. Year you would
not have to register. IT atf, says but we can't
have everybody doing. That, well, yeah actually, could because that's
what the law. Is so Now Franklin armory is telling
(17:27):
the people who have bought these, guns you need to
send them back and we'll give you back your. Money,
hum there's a lot going on, here and we don't
know what's actually happening on the, inside and we don't
know how it's going to. End up other than the
(17:48):
fact that it's. Interesting AND i, mean, look kudos To
Franklin armory for looking at this and, saying, okay let's
take them at their. Word let's read the law very.
Specifically what does it actually? Say can we make a
gun that is not covered by? This they, said, well,
(18:13):
yeah it looks like we. Can and they had the
lawyers look at it and had their designers and they, said,
yeah we could do. That and then of course they
have said, no, no, no you. Can't, well Under, biden it
wasn't going to. Happen under drop. It what's going to?
Happen it did happen and maybe still will. Happen this
is like only three days. Old the story just happening right,
(18:34):
now so we'll. SEE i don't know what's going to
happen on this. Deal all, Right let's go talk To
marv ON lne one out Of. Missouri, Hey, marv you're
on Gun. Talk what's?
Speaker 8 (18:44):
That, well lots of great. Things Number. One the main
POINT i don't want to talk to is What trump
can do for. Us BUT i want to give a quick.
Commercial you should donate blood if you're able. To you'll save.
Lives and it's effortless take to stop the bleak. Class,
also but we Asked President trump to do, things why
don't we just ask for the Whole enchilada allow he
(19:06):
should proclaim or whatever regulations he can abolish to say
that any appropriate person could conceal carry an any federal.
Facility i'm thinking for the post office WHERE i go
all the. Time but you, Know national park, BUILDINGS, Blm,
LAND i don't. KNOW i don't go to. Sleep there's
(19:27):
many places where we're not supposed to carry by federal. Fiat.
Right but the things that he can abolish he should have. Bolished,
NOW i got. It they don't want to do courthouses
or correctional. FACILITIES i got. That we should just all
call The White house and, say why don't you allow
concealed carried to the to you, know appropriate, people whatever
(19:49):
term want to used in all federal facilities where he
has the ability to sign a thing that says can
still carry his kosher.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
HERE i actually think that's in the. WORKS i know
that we're working on that in the, courts and we
got one court to say, yeah carry is legal in post,
offices and that's being. Appealed, look let me explain one
of the things that's, happening and it's quite. Revolutionary it's really,
(20:18):
amazing and it's happening like every. Week another one just
happened this past. Week a lot of these cases which
we lost in court and we appealed and we're moving
up to the next. Court all of a, sudden Under
trump And Pam, bondi THE Us Justice department is coming
back in on these cases where they were fighting, us
(20:40):
and now they're filing briefs in support of us in
saying they no longer want to defend the law and
they think that we were right in the court sh
rule in our. Favor this happened just again this. Week
it is an, amazing incredible. Turnaround but it takes some
time for all this to work its way. Through BUT
i think what you are asking for in you're, correct
(21:03):
we should be getting this is in fact taking. Place
it's underway right.
Speaker 8 (21:08):
Now but much of it he could just abolish by.
Regulation but things he has the power to, do that's.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
RIGHT i.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
Know i'm right there with. YOU i think the things
that he would have the ability to, do he should.
DO i, UNDERSTAND i appreciate you the. CALL i understand
he's got a busy time of, it his plates, full
and there are a lot of people trying to get
every second of his, attention you, know all day, long
and we're just one of. THOSE i get all of.
That at the same, Time we've got some really, good
(21:38):
powerful forces in The White house and in The Justice
department working on our, behalf AND i think things are
happening and moving. Forward we're going to start seeing some
amazing changes what's happening in the. Courts when THE Us
Justice department comes back in and, Says, okay we've changed our,
Mind we've changed our. Position we're doing a one to.
Eighty we no longer support these kinds of gun bands
(22:00):
and gun control, efforts and now we're on the side
of the gun owners in The Second. Amendment that's monstrously,
huge amazing. Stuff, Hey I'm Tom gresham and be right.
BACK i kind of have a thought during the break,
(22:22):
THERE i was running an idea around in my. Head
i'm not SURE i have the handle on it, yet
BUT i think about the conversation where somebody doesn't carry
a gun has been told basically that we're all, crazy
and then kind of comes to the realization that maybe
maybe it's not such a bad, idea or starts to
(22:46):
talk to some of us and, says you, know you
guys actually are pretty reasonable and responsible and, safe AND
i didn't know that about, you and MAYBE i was
a little bit wrong about you. Guys now take this
and apply. It go up the ladder a little. Bit
those if. You somebody, says, YEAH i carry a gun,
sometimes not all the, time you, know When i'm going
(23:08):
someplace WHERE i don't feel, safe but you, know you
guys who carry all the, time you're kind of out,
there and then starts thinking about and make it, well
maybe maybe there's more to this THAN i, knew and
maybe you guys are, right and Maybe i'm kind of
wrong on. This and then maybe you're a person carries
all the, time but your buddy make sure that he
(23:31):
always has AN ar in the truck just in case
he's got AN sbr or AN ar pistol or something
in a bag in the. Truck and you, think, well
that's just. Crazy and then you, realize, well, well what
if you had An antifa event you rolled right into
the middle of it and you got to get your
way out of, It and you, think, well maybe there's
(23:51):
more to this THAN i realized and maybe maybe he's
right And i'm a little bit wrong and just. Unaware
and then maybe you're one of the people that has the,
rifle bolt, gun ar lever action in your, truck but
your buddy over, there he's all kitted out with armor
(24:13):
and ar at night vision and. Thermal you see Where
i'm going, here and you're thinking, that, well that's way out,
here that's crazy. Stuff, yeah you, KNOW i guess maybe
Where i'm going with this And i'm just LIKE i,
Said i'm trying to find the handle for. It if we,
(24:34):
are where's the there for and all? This and maybe
that therefore is to be open to ideas of what
other people. Say they, well that's not WHERE i, am
and maybe that's a little bit beyond my comfort. Level
but rather than saying well that's, crazy OR i don't,
(24:55):
agree OR i just don't see the need for OR
i the ONE i always love can never imagine needing,
that to WHICH i always, say, yeah, well you probably
just need to work on your imagination or just look
at the. News maybe be open to some of these.
(25:16):
Ideas just as the person who says nobody needs a
gun for self, protection and you're saying you, know you
al really need to be more open to see what
we're seeing, here and wherever you are on that, scale
there's somebody else a little further out on that, scale
and maybe just maybe you ought to be a little
(25:38):
bit more open to at least. Learning maybe we put
it that. Way are there some things you can? Learn
is there an application for a long gun and self?
Defense of course there? Is are we hitting lower probabilities
(25:58):
as we go along the? Scale, YES i would, Say
so you, know the chances that you're ever gonna actually
need your carry gun are, small but if you need,
it you're gonna need. It and then the chances that
you're actually gonna need a long gun more than your, handgun,
again it's a subset, smaller and that you're gonna need
(26:18):
body armor or night vision or what every one of
them is a tinier, slice but it's not. Zero, yeah
it's a small, chance but it's not a zero. Chance
AND i guess one of the things you could say,
is all, right so what's the? Downside if you, Said,
(26:40):
OKAY I i don't really carry all the, time but
Now i'm gonna start carrying all the, time what's the? Downside? Okay,
well there's There's, look there is an inconvenience. Factor when
you start carrying all the, time there is most definitely
an inconvenience. Factor you got to figure out how to.
Carry you got to figure out where you're going to,
carry got to figure out what kind of gun to.
(27:01):
Carry you're gonna have to figure out what god a
HOLSTER i. Have you're gonna have to figure out a
cover garment if you're gonna carry. Concealed AND i would
certainly suggest that you carry. CONCEALED i get it people
are gonna, say we have but WHAT i am an open? Carrier, Fine,
LOOK i live An. Idaho ill at the grocery store,
yesterday we're checking, out the guy in front of me
(27:22):
is open. Carrying my guess is that most of the
people in the store never even, noticed and those who
did notice didn't even. Care BUT i live An, idaho
that's not that. Uncommon having said, THAT i personally believe
(27:46):
that you are giving away some tactical. Advantage you may
be giving away some options at d escalating or stepping
away from a certain situation if you're carrying. Openly BUT
i also Admit i'm applying my own biases to. That
and none of that may be, true don't. Know but
let's talk About, okay what are the? Downsides, okay you're
(28:08):
going to start carrying every, day all, right you can
meet those. Challenges not a big. Deal, okay but what
about IF i want to carry a gun in my.
CAR i want to have AN ar or a bolt
gun or a lever. Action, okay that's going to let
you deal with some other situations that could come. Up
might come up where you need more, range or you
(28:30):
have multiple. Attackers not, inconceivable not. Impossible what's the? Downside
how are you going to carry? It where are you
going to carry? It how are you going to secure?
It all of those are. Doable you just have to
Decide i'm going to do, this and this is important to.
Me when you start moving into different layers Of, Okay
i'm not going to go full scale body armor and
(28:53):
kit and chest carriers and all the rest of. It
at a certain, point we may be getting in to
maybe we're having more fun than we are. Preparing excuse,
Me i'm. Confident OCCASIONALLY i just came back from a
trip AND i picked up something on the. Airlines maybe
(29:14):
we're just doing it because it's. Fun at a certain,
Point i'm going to go take, Classes we're going to
use all the, gear And i'll have it IF i need,
It BUT i know that the chances are pretty. Small
perhaps this is just a thought Exercise i'm going through.
HERE i think maybe the takeaway is for us to
be more open to talking to people who are at
(29:36):
a different, place either on the more prepared side or
the less prepared, side and not be putting down anybody
in either direction of, well you're stupid because you don't,
carry or you're stupid because you carry too. Much how
about just like, well tell me. Why that's always a
good way to start the. Conversation tell me why you don't,
(29:57):
carry tell me why you don't have a gun for self,
defense tell me the thought process that led you to
thinking you ought to have a gun in your. Car
and if you start off with the tell me, why
you're gonna be open to learning a lot of cool.
Stuff that's my take on. It if you got a
thought on, it by all, mans give me a. Shout
(30:18):
eight to sixty, six talk gun Or tom talk. Gun
we're just knocking it around. Here I'm Tom gresham and
this is gun. Talk do you want to have a
special rifle that can do almost everything and that your
friends don't.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
Have.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
Hi I'm Tom, gresham host of Gun, talk and here's the.
Deal every few years we put out a special, gun
a very limited run that G t thirty marks thirty
years on the, air and this one is really. Different
it's a general purpose rifle you can legally have in
all states and it's crazy. Versatile based on The Ruger
(31:03):
American gen two, platform we created A scout rifle in
five five six or three oh, eight sixteen inch threaded,
barrel only thirty seven inches long, overall extra long rail
for mounting a standard scope at EXTENDED irolif scope Like
Colonel Jeff cooper preferred or a red dot and it
(31:24):
comes with great iron sights so it's ready for the
range right out of the. Box it looks great, too
with a cryptech camel finish topped with a smoke bronze metal.
Treatment the five five to six version takes standard armgs
and the three oh eight uses STANDARD aiics pattern or.
Pmgs this is a short, run so don't miss. Out
(31:48):
check out guntalkscout dot. Com that's gun talkscout dot. Com
it's accurate attractive and you can take it with you
to all. States out, scope standard, scope or no scope at.
All set it up the way you. Want when you
pull it from the, case your buddies will say what
the heck is, that and they're gonna want. One, seriously
(32:13):
this is a great. Rifle do, everything rifle, hunting target,
shooting defensive, use gun talkscout dot. Com don't put it,
off these are going. Quickly get your G t thirty
gun talkscout Dot com all aback with the. HAIR i
(32:46):
just we just got back in. YESTERDAY i didn't even
know what time it. Is i'm on a wrong time.
Soon we went To ireland for ten, days had a
great time driving, around had a good, time came. BACK
i don't Think i'll ever Fly American airlines again IF
i can. It we were, delayed, delayed, delayed all sorts of.
Problems but that's a different story for a different. TIME
(33:09):
i mentioned earlier that right, now going on right now
is the funeral For Charlie kirk was of course murdered
in front of millions of people ON. Tv everybody's seen the.
Video it's not and a thought about, this it's not
really a gun talk type. Story it is of course, heartbreaking, monumental,
(33:37):
epic watershed, moment all of those. Things but IF i
thought about, IT i, thought, yeah there may be something in,
this maybe something we can get out of it on
our personal protection. Level one of the things we have
seen as a result of this is how many people
(34:02):
generally we, say, yeah people on the, left we just
forget the. Left, right how many people are willing to, say,
yes he should have been, murdered and more of you
people should be. Murdered H i've not heard people on
the right say that about people on the. Left just an.
(34:25):
Observation but my point here is maybe to help people.
Understand one of the THINGS i hear people say all
the time is, well why would somebody want to hurt?
Speaker 2 (34:41):
Me?
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Yeah why would yboy every want to hurt? Me i've
never heard anybody it's. UNDERSTANDABLE i guess, foolish, childish. Naive
there are people who want want to hurt you just
because they want to hurt. You there are people who
(35:04):
would favor killing you because you believe differently than, Them
and we see that all over the. World millions of
people have been killed because they don't believe the same
thing as other people and perhaps trying to find some
(35:24):
good out of. This, okay perhaps each of us can
look at this and, say, OKAY i need to actually
incorporate this into my thinking that there really are people
who not only would be willing, to but are willing
to and are killing people because they speak out and
(35:47):
what they say is disagreeable to other. People what does
that mean in terms of your everyday. PRACTICES i would just,
say don't assume that everybody is like. You there's a
normal see bias that comes in and we're all guilty of.
(36:11):
It it's just part of the human, condition and that
is you think everybody's like. You if you're, reasonable you
figure most people are. Reasonable and if you don't have
you don't get up in the morning wanting to hurt,
somebody then other people wouldn't get up in the morning
and wanting to hurt. You, unfortunately that's not really. True
(36:34):
there are people who wake up in the morning thinking
how can we hurt people who think the way you
AND i, Do and, UNFORTUNATELY i think a lot of
them are getting very well. Organized, look you got to
be organized to go burn down a, city to burn
down some police, Stations you've got to be organized to,
(36:57):
riots to be able to roll up and hand out
riot gear to, protesters to, rioters you've got to have
millions and billions of dollars behind all of. That not
saying they might need to be frightened or, paranoid but
(37:19):
being aware is always a good, thing being aware that
there's an element out there that will do. That because
here's what being aware does for. You it allows you
to recognize what's going. On when you see a bunch
of people starting to appear in a public place and
(37:44):
they look very, different and that's they're showing, up, Like,
wow this looks, Organized, wow this looks what's going, on
rather than as a lot of people. Do get out
your phone and shoot video of it so you can
post it. Online how about you get your ass and
gear and get out of. There that's a really good.
(38:09):
Thing if you can recognize, that you can act on.
It if you don't see what's going, on you won't
act on, it or you will act too late to
get yourself and your family out of. It being aware
of what's going on politically in the, world being aware
(38:29):
of what's going on in your immediate surroundings gives you.
Time time gives you, options and with, options you can
choose to not be. There So i'm not talking about
being scared or. Paranoid i'm saying just be aware of
what's going on. There there really are people who will
(38:50):
actually hurt you just to make a political point to
the public. Somewhere we just saw, That. Frankie that's why
they're having a funeral In dallas Or. Arizona right. Now,
hey just a few, minutes we're gonna be talking about
GOOD ammo and BAD. Ammo there's a lot of bad
(39:11):
FACTORY amo out there these. Days give you some insight into. That,
first let's talk To mark online three out Of. Missouri, Hey,
mark you're on the. Air what are you carry and
why and?
Speaker 7 (39:21):
When, well this is low Left mark sometimes and, Uh
i've always got a twenty two with. Me i've always
got forty five with, me and ninety percent of the
time i've got a in one a three.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
Oeks, okay you say you always got twenty tty. Five
are you carrying two different guns or is it one
or the other depending on where you're, Going.
Speaker 7 (39:50):
Well it's two different guns except for WHEN i go
to the doctor's office or or two with my.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
Grandkid, YEAH i don't carry in the doctor's office because
we're liable to be disrobing part way AND i don't
want to go through that whole, drill but pretty much everywhere,
else all, Right so tell me about THE m one.
A what what's that all? About and how do you carry?
Speaker 7 (40:16):
It, well it's in my truck When i'm not in the,
city which is very, Seldom, Okay SO i leave it
at home When i'm not in the, city but When
i'm In, Missouri i'll carry. THEM i get to my
all three of them at the same.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
Time, okay you're three EIGHT m one. A what's your?
Thinking what would be a situation where you would need
possibly need that?
Speaker 7 (40:43):
Rifle, well coyotes or a cow that needs to be
put down from long ways.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
Away, kay or two legged predators in. GROUPS i get.
Speaker 7 (40:59):
It, well, yeah but there a no two leaking pre
predators and groups Where i've got my.
Speaker 3 (41:05):
Rifle, okay because you're out in the country then, yeah all,
RIGHT i get. It it makes sense to. Me how long
have you had your in one? A.
Speaker 7 (41:14):
Oh six years?
Speaker 3 (41:18):
Seven what made you want?
Speaker 4 (41:20):
That?
Speaker 7 (41:22):
WELL i always loved to look AT m fourteen, mm
and but the sixty four was tearing up my shoulder
too much WHEN i shut.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
There, okay so you went with a three h eight
and a heavy, rifle, yeah prety. Good all, Right so
how does it? Shoot?
Speaker 7 (41:45):
Well low one? Left well not long on left with that.
Rifle no, All i'm long and left with the. Pistol
it shoots a dead.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
Nail very. GOOD i appreciate you cleaning that up for,
us because we're DEFINITELY fcc regulator who were broadcasting on the.
Radio SO i appreciate. That, well it sounds like you
got a good play in there and you got to
figure it, out AND i appreciate you sharing that and
thank you for the. Call. Yeah kind of What mark was,
(42:17):
Saying it's a good way to look at things If
i'm going to change what a carry and HOW i
carry depending on Where i'm going and What i'm. Doing
he really was talking about coyotes and four legged. Critters
by the, way it was not euphemism at, all because
(42:38):
a lot of folks in the country are, going, YEAH i,
said a, coyote see a, wolf see or. Whatever just
saw a picture of a guy had a mountain lion
stalking him like five feet. Away hit shot. It stuff Happens,
now if you're in the middle of the, city that's
not your. Situation maybe you need a different kind of.
Carry maybe you need an ankle carry as well as
your other kind of. Carry maybe you need a. BACKUP
(43:00):
i don't know what's going to be right for, you
and you're gonna have to figure that out for. Yourself
but one of the best ways to do that is
to go get some training and talk to other people
who work on, this and talk to trainers and, say,
well here's WHAT i, do here's WHERE i. Go, okay
well let's talk about some systems for. You and that's
really what it. Is it's layers is built into a,
system and part of that is the. Mindset you, know
(43:23):
how DO i recognize it early and how to get
out of it and avoid it if at all. Possible,
hey when we come, BACK i want to talk ABOUT.
Ammo there's some really good animal being made and there's
SOME ammo out. Here that's. Ma'am some of us just.
Lousy i'm, sorry it just. This if you want to join,
us eight six six talk, Gun I'm Tom. Gresham we'll
be right back with more gun.
Speaker 4 (43:42):
Talk
