He was the first and he's still the best. For
thirty years, Tom Gresham has been your trusted source on
all things ballistic, new guns, Second Amendment, personal protection be
part of it, Paul, Tom Talk Gun. Now, here's Tom.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Welcome again to Gun Talk. Tom Gresham here, we're going
to be gathered today to talk about well guns and
shooting and cool stuff and gear and everything else. And
the course I could then that stuff it. You know,
as long as you want to talk about guns, you
are in the right place. All you got to do
to join us is give me a call eat six'
Six Talk gun Or Tom. Talkgun either way gets you
the same. PLACE a lot of things going on we
(00:53):
have to cover, here and of, course if there's something
on your, mind or if you got a bone to
pick with me and you just disagree with me up
then by all means give me. Holler we'll talk about
that as. WELL i do want to talk about this
story that continues to evolve and it's one of the
more disturbing instances of what clearly appears to be abused
(01:14):
by THE. Atf we're joined now By Lee. Williams he's
known as the gun, writer investigative. Reporter And, lee you
were really the, first, only and the lead in capturing
this story and keep it in front of. People give
us some background of who this is and what this
is all.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
About, sure this Involves Patrick Tate. Odomiak he was A
navy active Duty NAVY e six Tom he had been
picked to attend seal. SCHOOL i mean he was. Headed
he was by. Now if this had never, happened he'd
be leading a seal platoon as a. Lieutenant he got
in trouble because THE atf listened to the wrong. Source
(01:51):
the kick Down patrick's. Doors they went through is all
his stuff and they're charging him with all kinds of
machine guns and illegal devices AND rp and blah blah.
Blah everything he had was, legal every single. Thing he
did not have a single machine. Gun he did not
have anything. Illegal but you, know THE atf got caught
(02:11):
with their pants, down so they had to come up with.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Something you do understand that a lot of, people maybe
even most, people say, okay if they charge you with
all this. Stuff there has to be something. There he
had to be doing something Run how could it possibly.
Be he didn't have anything that was.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
Illegal if you look at what they, charged and trust,
Me i've published every one of his charges and the
guns that they. Had he had gun. Parts he had
an incredibly successful website going where he would sell gun,
parts and of COURSE atf, says, oh you got to
part for AN, rpg or you got to part for
(02:48):
A Pepe shaw that's a machine.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
Gun well it's.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
NOT i mean the cage that surrounds a barrel of
A PPSh submachine. Gun how the hell is that a machine?
Gun but you, know UNFORTUNATELY atf went after. Him they
employed this guy Named bodell who was one of their technical,
Guys Firearms enforcement, Officer Jeffrey, bodell and he got out
(03:12):
in court and lied up one side and down the.
Other he turned an actual. Toy tate had a toy.
Sten he, said that's, no that's a machine. Gun he
had legal RPGs that had no internal. Parts all those
are destructive. Devices and he had legal semi autos that
he turned into machine. Guns tate had the very, rare
very expensive open bolt semi autos, right the fire from
(03:35):
an open, bolt but the cost you a couple of
Grand all those are machine, GUNS i mean.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Not how does that? Happen how can he say these
are machine guns when they are demonstrably.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Not he walked into court and perjured. Himself, Tom that's
exactly what.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Happened how does a guy like this just go into
court and say these things they are not true because
the prosecutors don't know any.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Better the judge certainly doesn't know any. Better she was
A biden, appointee and they want to hang the guy
who had, guns not realizing that everything he had was
one hundred percent. Legal On, Tom i've been through everything
on his evidence list that THE atf. Prepared there's not
a single machine gun on. There there's nothing that fires
with more than one round per trigger. Pull most of,
(04:25):
it ninety percent of them were, parts which she's just
buying and selling and trading. Online he had a very
very successful parts business.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
Going have you been able.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
To figure out, why, well why the, push WHY atf
decided to go after, Him why they are so headstrong
in doing.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
This, yeah you, Know tate really put that together for me.
TOO atf were weaponized against The Second. Amendment under The biden,
administration there's no other way to say. It clear evidence
of this abuse of. Power as he, said that's how
he saw. It the instead of just taking cases where
people get caught with legal, firearms they use these. Snitches
(05:02):
and we've Seen Tom i've written about four different families
that were invaded BY atf who found nothing wrong because
they don't know how to run A ci confidential, informant
and that he kick down doors and going to scare
the hell out of, families not find anything illegal and.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
LEAVE i, mean look what happened In.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
ARKANSAS i was just gonna, Say Brian melanowski In, arkansas
they kicked on his door and shot him and killed
him where they could have gone knocked on the door
to his. Office he was the director of the International
airport In Little. ROCK i, mean this is not like
a known bad, guy but they kicked in his, door
what at six o'clock in the morning and killed the.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Man, yeah they shot him dead because he was defending
his home against whom we thought were burglar because none
of them wore any police. Identification, okay so that's mean.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
This is The biden. Administration that's THE atf under. Them
but we are told that we've got the kinder JENERLLER
atf these, days and a different deal WITH doj And,
Trump AND i guess there's going to be an appeal
on this in a week or. Two is there anything
yence that The trump administration goes in and TELLS, atf,
hey knock it, off you, know get off this guy's.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Case you, Know i'm hearing a ton of it off the, Record,
Tom i'm, hearing, oh, well you, know so and so
is looking at, it or you, know driscoll and is
looking at it at THE. Atf For Pam bondi's going
to step, in Or Cash betel AT fbi is going
to take. Over i'm not seeing any of. It the
prosecutor who's Prosecuting tate sent a letter yesterday to the
(06:32):
court blasting another one of his affirmative. Defenses so if you,
Know cash Or pam or driscoll or anybody's going to
actually do, Anything i'm not seeing any sign of.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
IT i think they're going to Crucify tate again because it.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Would be embarrassing for them to admit that they are
screwed up this, much and they can just, say you,
know what we already got the guy. IN i, mean
he's been in prison for what three, years already three
years of a twenty, years twenty year. Sentence twenty years
sentence they wanted. Thirty but.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
One of his defense, experts whose FORMER, atf managed to
convince the court, that, no that pile of metal sheets
is not a pile of nine hundred and seventy seven machine, guns.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
Which is what they charged it. With sheets of.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
METAL i, mean this thing is, Crazy, Tom you And
i'd be laughing about. It if this is some made up.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Story, well they've already ruined the man's, life they've destroyed his,
career and he's looking at another seventeen years in prison
and it's going up for. Appeal you have jumped on
this story like a dog with a. Bone you won't let.
Go what is it that drives you on this.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Story i've never seen this, Before, Tom quite, HONESTLY i
spent twenty years as an investigative. Reporter before, that ten
years as a. Policeman i've never seen a guy like
this who was one hundred percent, innocent one hundred percent
he did absolutely nothing, wrong serving a twenty year. Sentence
it just makes Me, frankly it just makes me sick
(08:02):
THAT i ever had a badge in my. Bellfold and
it makes me sick that there's not one public official
who's willing to step up and, say, hey you know,
What Tita domiac does not deserve to be in. Prison
let's get him.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Out, well there's another reaction that a lot of us. Have,
yeah it may make you, sick but it also scares
the hell out of, you because if it can happen to,
him it can happen to. Anybody.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
EXACTLY i was just talking about that yesterday with the
good friend who also has a couple of gun. Safes you,
KNOW i have nothing filado in, mind nothing. Controlled but
who's to. Say you, know they kicked the door in
you and they gave me The Tata. Domiac next thing you,
Know i'm in prison for twenty.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
Years.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Tom this is something that every person who supports a
Second amendment should be just angrier than hell.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
About this is not the first time that THE atf
has either gotten things wrong or has purposely manipulated the
evidence or altered firearms to get them to go. Far.
Lot imagine you have an ar and your safe and
they come and kick in the, door take the ar
and by the time their technical people are done with,
(09:06):
it they got it to slam fire or go to
fall auto on, it and all of a, sudden you're
going to.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
Prison, yeah, yeah no.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
Doubt AND i got to tell, you, Know i'm having
been having had a badge on my. BELLFOLD i always
think that the cops do the right. Thing nobody AT
atf is doing the right. Thing, Nobody and you, KNOW
i reached out to their leadership. PERSONALLY i tried to
talk to their deputy, Director Robert, cicada because they're they're
acting Director Dan. Driscoll he's also running the, army so
(09:36):
he's a little. Busy he's the twenty six secretary of The.
Army i'm still waiting For cicada to return my. Call
is there anything for the public to? Do is there
any kind of public pressure that can be brought to
bear on?
Speaker 5 (09:49):
THIS i would, say, yeah you. Can you.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Can tate has a websites out there which are very.
Good freedom For tate dot. Com freedom For tate Dot.
Com go to the, website sign, up stand with and
give him your, signature and then follow the stories and
contact your elected. Officials Because tom this this has got to.
END i, mean, man this kid's already given up three
(10:13):
years of his, life three, years, man for no. Reason
how did you first hear about this? STORY i was
contacted by one Of tate's relatives who reached out to, me,
GOSH i guess more than a year, ago and, said
you AND i go into these things, totally you, know,
neutral right down the, middle looking for something that you
know why he deserves to be in. Prison i've yet
(10:36):
to find. ANYTHING i, mean this kid should be. Free
you should be running a seal. Platoon it's really.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Unconscionable and for those who are, thinking, well you know
they're law, enforcement they can't have gotten things that. Bad
i'm just telling, you if you know the history of THE,
ATF i, Mean i'm reminded of a seminar they had
one time AT. Atf they handed out leathermen tools and
on the tools was engraved WITH. Atf always think, forfeiture
(11:06):
because they're saying they want to always go for asset.
Forfeiture they want to take your personal possessions up to,
it including entire rants that they went in and tried to
take from. Somebody that is the mindset and the culture AT.
Atf it is corrupt from beginning to.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
End you know you haven't, asked But i'm going to tell.
YOU i think this country will do a lot better WITHOUT.
Atf AND i Hope President trump has the guts and
the will and the drive to do that and get
rid of, them Because i'm not seeing law enforcement coming
out of. Them, okay What i'm seeing is a lot of.
FELONIES i, mean my, god this quote unquote expert who
(11:40):
testified during his trial and we had. Machinist he should be.
HUNG i, Mean, tom it's terrible what they're doing to
this poor kid who just wants to serve his. Country All.

gresham and we're going to talk about, actually were going

some of the things THAT i want to talk. ABOUT
i have some stories to, tell some things that have
been happening around HERE i want to. SHARE i also
Have i'll get to this in a few. MINUTES i
have a proposal For President Donald. Trump it's kind of out.
(15:01):
There it's way out, there but it's. Doable it's doable
with stroke of a, pen AND i think you're gonna like.
It we'll get to that in just a few. Minutes,
first let me go to the, phones lying. Too dennis
is with us out a baton, Roots. Louisiana Hello, dennis
what's happening named Red?
Speaker 11 (15:19):
Stick all, right.
Speaker 12 (15:21):
Listen i'm a novice when it comes to, guns AND
i have a, question BUT i have to preface it
with an unusual. Story have you got a?
Speaker 11 (15:30):
Minute you.
Speaker 12 (15:31):
Bet my wife is the props coordinator for a local
little theater and one day she brought home a a
box of. Stuff SO i rumished it around in it
AND i found a semi automatic, pistol or well actually
part of a semi automatic. Pistol it was the fame
(15:52):
and the slide held together with black. Tape this is
what we call a shadow. Prop it doesn't do, anything
but it looked good from the. Audience, okay, okay, ANYWAY
i rooted around the box some more AND i came
up with the metal tube and that had stamped on IT.
Col three. Eighty SO i figured this was the, barrel
(16:13):
and of course it. Was the frame Had browning stamped in,
it and the slide stead made In. BELGIUM a three.
Parts the, frame the slide in the barrel looked to
me to be in very good. Condition so NOW i
had some solid clues as to WHAT i had. FOUND
(16:34):
i did some, research BUT i just didn't have the
resources to really identify. It SO i took it to
a local gun. Dealer he knew right away that this
was A browning ten seventy. ONE i asked my dealer
if he could turn these parts into a working, handgun
and he said he'd do his. Best weeks went. By
(16:56):
finally he called me and told me he completed the.
Gun he told me he tesk fired, it but it
wouldn't shoot a complete six round, magazine he. SAID i
took it apart. Again everything checked, out but still couldn't
get the gun to fire. Reliably he gave me a written,
appraisal and in it he said the parts are not
(17:18):
one hundred percent compatible and that trying to find the
exact parts would be very time, consuming not to mention.
Expensive right personally have not fired the. Gun being a,
NOVICE i didn't want to take a chance on shooting
an unreliable. Gun SO i thanked, HIM i paid, him
and that's WHERE i stand.
Speaker 11 (17:39):
Today that's my.
Speaker 12 (17:41):
STORY i do have a couple of, questions but let
me get your thoughts on all this.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
First, WELL i mean the main QUESTION i have is
what do you want to? DO i, mean are you
trying to get yourself a working pistol or what do
you want to do with this?
Speaker 12 (17:54):
THING i would be interested to know if this gun
is something a collector would even.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Want, oh probably. NOT i, mean it's probably a weird
collection of A browning And browning made millions of three
eighties between the F N herstel And browning and made
In belgium and you know throughout the you, know many
many many. Years, uh it's highly unlikely that it's. COLLECTIBLE i,
(18:22):
mean and if he gave you an, APPRAISAL i, mean
what did he say it was.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
Worth he. Didn't, oh, okay it's probably not.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
Worth much of. Anything it's a box of, parts is
what it.
Speaker 12 (18:34):
Is. YEAH i would be interested in selling it to,
somebody BUT i don't know how how to do. That
i've taken it to three or four gun stores but
got no. Takers and some friends, said take it to
a gun. Show is, yeah of taking a gun to
(18:54):
a gun.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Show you are way past putting in more time into
this than it's. Worth, honestly there's no value left in this.
Effort if the gun stores say we don't want it
at any, price they're telling you what it's, worth which is. Zero,
OKAY i mean it's. INTERESTING i mean it's a prop.
(19:15):
Gun if you want to have somebody put it in
a shadow box and put it on the wall and go,
ah that was a cool. Gun all, right it looks you,
know it's not actually a, functioning working. Gun but there you.
Go all, right you had other questions.
Speaker 12 (19:26):
For, Me, no that was about. It you've been very.
HELPFUL i appreciate talking to.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
You, okay, well good. DEAL i think you've got an
interesting piece of. Something but if nobody can make it
run as a, functioning reliable gun and nobody wants to
pay you for. IT i, mean if they won't even
give you ten bucks for, it you got. Nothing and,
HONESTLY i would not go to a gun show and try.
TO i, mean you might be able to get ten
bucks for it, there but AGAIN i think you're way
(19:53):
way past the value of the time you've got into. It,
LOOK i appreciate the. Call very interesting. Though prop. GUNS
i once bought a prop gun from a movie house
that was going a movie, stockhouse prop house that was
going out of, business and it was A smith And
western model twenty, Seven, yeah twenty seven three fifty seven
(20:17):
magnum four inch. BARREL i made a bid donors an online.
Auction this is a lot of years, ago and send
them to the ff they, SAID i. WANT i sent.
Them THE ffl box shows up on my. Doorstep it's
got a revolver in. It not to THE. Ffl to,
(20:40):
me they're out of, business they're. Gone what do you? Do? Interesting?
Huh it turns out that evidently shooting prop blanks in these,
THINGS i am told they actually have more pressure than
a regular. Load and you can get egg. Shaped who
(21:04):
was a description given to me by an. Expert egg
Shaped chambers in your. Revolver So i'm actually not much
different From dennis. HERE i got a prop gun and they, said,
yeah you got a problem with this. Gun, okay, great
it's a shadow box. Gun it's a wall. Hanger it's
(21:27):
a decoration. Piece you know when they say if it
sounds too good to be, true it probably. Is well
in this. Case, yeah, BOY i got a steal on this.
Thing at LEAST i THOUGHT i. Did it turns OUT i.
Didn't so there you. Go, hey by the, way, today
just so that you, know we got the Lovely Miss
bree is filling in For michelle on the. Phones we thank,
(21:47):

(22:54):
it's forced on. Force training we drop real people into
situations and they get some kind. Of attack they don't know,
what's coming they just know that, something's coming and we
see what, they do and then we give them a
little bit of training and run something similar and see how.
They improve and there's a whole lot of those in tat.
MOMENTS there i never thought. Of that, it's, like, OH
(23:16):
okay i didn't know what could happen. THAT quickly i
didn't know that. Would happen and then our, Trainers, say
woul did you ever think about turning around and looking
behind you see? That door you could have run through
that and. Gotten AWAY oh i never thought. Of, THAT yeah,
i know that's why we go. Get training so there. You,

LifeLock commercial y'all just ran it's just. So appropriate is
that JUST a.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
I MEAN and, i say most people aren't hearing that
that runs during a commercial break that most people. Don't
get but it's just a spoof parody thing that we've
done and we run that.
Speaker 8 (24:44):
Just for fun now, And, Then yeah i've never heard,
it BEFORE but i.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
Like.
Speaker 8 (24:48):
It yeah my question or comment was on a couple,
Of occasions i've found GUNS because i just pay Attention
when i'm DRIVING and i see something that doesn't. Look
right found a bear cat on the side of the interstate,
one DAY which i turned into the the police what
and never thought to go back and. Check it but,
then again not, LONG ago i Found a ruger st
(25:08):
one oh one in a neighborhood AND when i went
back to talk with the police, about it, they said,
oh no we can't give it back. TO you, i
mean it's been months and months and months and so
it was. Turned in we can't give it back. To
you and one of the things that made me think
about was why is it that we can't check. A
GUN if i have somebody wanting to sell, me one
WHY can't i contact the sheriff or whoever and have
(25:30):
a stolen registry Run.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
On it is a great.
Speaker 8 (25:34):
Do that they just know. Major hoops it.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Is a great question and we have asked that for many.
Many years why if someone wants to sell me. A
gun i want to buy, A gun WHY can't i
just run a check on it to see if it's
been reported. As stolen that seems like a real. Simple
deal and, they going, oh, no, no, no, no no
that's only for, law enforcement, you know. Go WAIT all
i want to do is find out if this gun
is stolen AND am i okay? Buying it that would
(25:59):
be a really. Worthwhile thing there has, been Talk and
i'm really glad you asked. This question there's been talk
of making that available to people to check on. Their
own it hasn't, happened yet but since you, mentioned it
it's a chance for us in the gun rights movement
to make that suggestion yet again to the administration to
(26:20):
see if we can't make. That happen your spot on
why wouldn't we be able to do?
Speaker 8 (26:25):
That, right well in, for instance EVEN if i had
to go to the, police department sheriff, or whatever do
it through, official LINES because i was perfectly willing to
turn this thing in if it turned out to be
the guy down the street that. Dropped it but it
was in between. THREE schools. I said it could have
been a kid running to school and chicken out at
the last minute threw it out. THE bus i, don't
Know but i'd be more than willing to turn it
(26:47):
BACK if i knew who to give, it to. YOU know,
I mean i'm. THAT way i found cash on the
side of the ROAD and i tried tracking, it down sometimes,
even successfully and gave. IT back i found about a.
Dozen wallets but with the argument being that all these
guns are being stolen and, used, illicitly well then make
it easier for people to reduce that sales out of the,
black market now if you can and.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Get it back to a. Black, owner, Yeah no i'm. With,
you no it's a. Great, POINT look i appreciate you bringing.
It up heck of. A store so you're the guy
who's finding those guns on the street we keep, reading
ABOUT but i haven't seen, him yet but you're scooping.
Them up thanks for, The, CALL chris i. Appreciate that,
all right let me run this. PAST year i got
a Proposal For. PRESIDENT trump i want to get this
(27:31):
out and then we'll take a break and get your comments.
On IT and i WOULD love a friend of mine
gave me, this IDEA and i. Appreciate That and i'm
going to, steal It and i'm going to claim it as.
My own i'm going to SAY that i made this
up and there's a completely. My Idea, thanks art you
did a. Great job.
Speaker 12 (27:49):
So here's.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
The idea and you got to bear with you because
it's going to sound pretty out there, and go, Well
what but there are SOME real i think benefits and
ramifications FROM, this us not the least of which it
will drive the gun. Banners crazy with a stroke of,
A Pen donald trump could issue a presidential proclamation that
(28:14):
NAMES the ar Fifteen as, america's rifle and while you're,
at it the nineteen Eleven as. America's pistol can you
even imagine. THE reaction ar Stands for america's rifle now
(28:34):
AND the ar Fifteen is. America's rifle so you guys
are going To ban. America's rifle it would crank up
a conversation that would spend the media into. The ground
they would look like an augur. GOING in i love.
This idea i've already put it forward to people who
(28:56):
have access to. The president have no idea if there's.
Any interest and, then again you never know on any.
Given day You Know, donald trump he's just liable to
throw that out as an idea and we see where.
It goes so there's, my thought And now i'm looking for.
A reaction if you really, Hate it i'll say it was.
(29:18):
Arts idea if you really, like it it was. My
idea eight Six'. Six talk gun do you want to
have a special rifle that can do almost everything and
that your? Friends, Don't Have Hi, i'm tom Gresham Host,
(29:41):
of gun talk and. Here's the deal every few years
we put out, a special gun a very LIMITED run
that gt thirty marks thirty years, on the air and
this one. Is really different it's a general purpose rifle
you can legally have in all states and. It's crazy
versatile Based On The ruger american, gen two platform we
(30:05):
created a scout, rifle, in five five six or three
oh eight sixteen, inch threaded barrel only thirty seven, inches
long overall extra long rail for mounting a standard Scope
at extended Iroley Scope Like colonel, jeff cooper preferred or
a red dot and it comes with great iron sights
(30:26):
so it's ready for the range right out. Of the
box it, looks great too with a cryptech camel finish
topped with a smoke. Bronze metal treatment the five five
to six version takes standard armgs and the three oh
EIGHT uses standard aiics. Pattern or pmgs this is, a
short run so. Don't miss out check out. Guntalkscout dot
(30:50):
com that's gun. Talkscout dot, com, it's accurate attractive and
you can take it with You to all states scouts
standard scope or no. Scope at all set it up the.
Way you want when you pull it, from the case
your buddies will say what the heck is that and they're. Gonna,
want one seriously this is. A great, rifle do, everything rifle,
(31:16):
hunting target. Shooting defensive use gun. Talkscout dot com don't.
Put it off these are going quickly get your g
t thirty gun. Talkscout DOT com so i went. TO
(31:45):
the range a lot of good stories. Start that way
went to the range yesterday and we were shooting a steel,
challenge and look we've got a little bitty. Gun club
here we're out in the middle of nowhere or our
town has a population of one, thousand and one so gives.
You an idea but, we got up we got public
(32:08):
shooting range and we're having, a steel challenge which is
fun if. You don't know you can look at up
fundled game and you're shooting steel targets and it's timed and.
It's just fun and you can shoot it with any
number of different, kinds of, pistols, iron sights. Optics twenty
two you can shoot it with. Twenty two rifles you
can shoot, it with pistol. Calival car beans. It's just
(32:30):
fun so we're Out there and i'm looking, around, AND
go wow i don't know. All these people this is
a new. Group of people look at all these guys
and they're all. The same age. What's going on they're
all like in, their early thirties and, they look fit
and some of them got their beards, and going. Huh
(32:52):
what's this turns out it. Was the groomsman it's a
bachelor party as part, of the weekend. The wedding weekend
these guys all came out to the range to shoot
a steel challenge first thing. In the morning and it
was a hoot. And a half, it was fun and
they were all, pretty good shooters and some of them are.
(33:14):
Really good shooters and, they were safe, they were respectful.
They were good It Was great and i'm looking at
these Guys, and going okay this is gonna be. A
FUN morning and i, Decided once again i'm gonna shoot
my carry gun and. Carrying the gun i'm. WEARING the
gun i, Go out there i'm gonna. Shoot That gun
all i'm gonna do is SWAP out the ammo and
(33:35):
TAKE the. Defensive ammo out and, You know me you're
not supposed TO do. What i do you're supposed TO do.
Speaker 12 (33:41):
What.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
I say okay i changed carry guns FAIRLY frequently because
i work with a lot of different Gun companies and
i'm trying different. Things right now the, Last few weeks
i've Been CARRYING The. Ruger r exam really. LIKED that
pistol i did not expect, to LIKE it but i,
really LIKE it and i shot that. IN the match
i finished somewhere between the middle, and the bottom. So
(34:03):
bottom half. But that's okay i'm up against guys who.
Are really good but here's. The funny story so. We're
out there we got this group of people and we
had started shooting the first stage in This loud old
i'm talking twenty five thirty year, old beat, up one
tone primer coded. Suburban rolls, up, they go, well that's
(34:24):
interesting and their dog's barking in the back and. Go
oh huh and these two old with quotes around it old.
Guys get out they're not as, old as me but
they're older. Than these guys and one of them's got
on a hat That looks. Like radar O'Reilly turns out His.
Nickname is radar and the other guy's, got on suspenders, and,
(34:45):
you're going huh. This is interesting, and they say we
thought we, Started AT ten now i. Started at nine
oh it was it too late first to get, in and,
thinking oh boy. Here we go, and, he, said, well
no no we're still in. The first stage we can get. You,
in here okay what? Category? You shooting now? What's, your
classification well we're. Shooting revolvers, something oh man this could.
Be a mess beware. Of making assumptions While It, wasn't
(35:14):
jerry mitchellick it wasn't Too Far. From jerry mitchellick the,
dude was suspenders was, smoking, THE targets shooting i mean
drawing and shooting His double Action smith. And wesson revolver
turns out he's a top competitor and he's, a local
guy and he. Came in first. He beat everybody everybody
(35:39):
with Their super duper semiauto double stacked, nineteen eleven optics
mounted super leg fire rigs. And Everything else old dude
and suspenders with a revolver. Just smoked everybody it was
so much. Fun to, WATCH holy, COW i mean i
(36:00):
have never enjoyed so much being beaten by somebody is.
Watching that deal. It was great and let's Go line
to leo's with us Now. Out Of, california hey leo You're.
On gun, Talk, good afternoon tom how?
Speaker 4 (36:13):
Are you?
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Today i'm? Great what's happening.
Speaker 9 (36:16):
I'm confused on The new gun talk rifle as far
as what. Magazine, it takes okay you state in THAT
it's A. Cs, Or magpole however magpole has two three,
o EIGHT magazines so i just need some. Clarification on
these it.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Be whichever one well it comes. With magpolel mags now
some people know we're talking about the three. O eight
Version it should he actually was Not aware that magpoole. Had,
two differentags uh you need the one that's compatible WITH
a c s whichever, one, That is.
Speaker 9 (36:52):
Okay so that would be the bolt action mag not
the REGULAR like THREE o.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
EIGHT p mag. I don't know i'm just going to
tell you RIGHT now because. I don't know i didn't
know about the two different. KINDS of mags. I don't
know i would have to go. Look THAT up and
i apologize for not having the answer at the tip
of my, finger RIGHT here but i. Just don't know
AND whichever way, I say it i got a fifty
to fifty chance of.
Speaker 5 (37:17):
Screwing, IT up sure i just.
Speaker 9 (37:20):
Want TO make sure i. GET some clarification. I, appreciate.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
It well you know you should be able to just
Look on, the RUGGER website, because i Mean That's the
ruger american in three or eight and they'll have the
information There on. The rugger website i'll be able to take.
Care of that so but let, me ask you did
you already buy? ONE of these.
Speaker 9 (37:39):
I have not i just heard your ad for it
earlier and looking at, the p Mags and so i'm
just trying to decide which p mag it is because
one of them is really readily cheap and one of them's.
Speaker 12 (37:50):
Double, The price Oh.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
I'll be DARNE well now i got to go. Look, it,
up well good you've given. ME a project i, guess
WITH autoway but i WILL see if i. Can find
it but also, in the meantime if you Go to
the ruger website and Look Up the ruger american rifle in,
three to eight it should have that information on. Which,
MAGGOT is again i apologize for not having. That right
here I'LL see if i can get. That FOR you
(38:14):
and i, appreciate. The call sir it is. A nice
rifle i was just looking at it, the other day
and YOU know what i. LIKE about it i, like
the balance and it's a little bit different From The.
Stock ruger american it has a. Slightly heavier barrel we
couldn't use the fluted barrel and this this is our.
Gun talk rifle we had to go with a little
bit heavier barrel so that we could mount the extended,
(38:36):
rail on it and by doing that it gives it
just a little more heft out in front and it holds.
On target nicely and obviously they. SHOOT really well i
mean these are easily under an inch you know, him
away rifles and, in my case my first three shots
with the five five six went into a third. Of
(38:58):
an inch a third. Of an inch it's a real
share go straight to. The Bones line one jim's With, Us.
In Medford, oregon hey jim how can?
Speaker 5 (39:12):
We?
Speaker 3 (39:12):
Help, you sir hey?
Speaker 11 (39:14):
How you doing tom's nice to, Hear. YOUR voice sir
i just, wanted to say did you know that your
NEW uh uh gt thirty is now considered a machine GUN? By,
the atf.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
Yeah it's the full auto bult. Axe, and rifle, well
YOU know and i, know we're laughing but of course.
That's a? Tragedy what's Happened, AND to, tate i mean
the man's, been in prison federal prison for. THREE years
now i guess. It's federal prisons but it's a horrible
thing that's.
Speaker 11 (39:45):
Going on, there but yeah that's that's THE actual question i.
Was calling about WHAT led the atf to even look?
At this guy uh.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
Confidentional in formant and this happens all the time where
where these people are being paid, basically to snitch so
they go snoop around, and find somebody even if, it's
not real they will often try to set somebody up
because that's how. They get paid and so this was
a confidential informant who, supposedly, squeals that hey this guy's
(40:16):
got all this. Stuff, back, here well yeah he's got
a lot of gun parts AND then the atf comes
in and does the thing that unfortunately they have, done
so often which is to lie under oath and to
manipulate things back in. The technical area it's not the
FIRST time that atf has gotten the gun and that is.
Not full auto and then when they're, done with it.
IS full, atto i mean that's the frightening that's THE
(40:39):
frightening part i was. Talking, about that look they. Take
your ar this IS, a regular ar and by the
time they get through tinkering with it and making some,
changes on it they can get it to go, off
full auto and all of a sudden you're charged. With
a felony it is. A Frightening thing AND i'm just
i guess we need to all take a look at,
this and, think ALL right CAN i contact i should,
(40:59):
Contact my son let's just. Contact my representative as, she
talked about talk about. THIS to everybody, I, can say
look this. Is Just Wrong and pam Bondy in The,
department of justice they need to get on this and
take a fresh. Look at this this is. Just a,
TRAVESTY but look, i appreciate, it but yeah it's they're
(41:19):
full out of bultex, And, you're right yeah. WEIRD things
happen i, appreciate. The call, sir all right here's. One
For you queen victoria she reigned, for seventy six seventy
six years, something like that sixty seventy years They call.
The victorian AGE why would i? Bring that up because
(41:40):
when we come back, on gun talk we're gonna Be
Talking about queen. Victoria, and guns no doesn't make any
sense to you yet it is. Going to end it
is an Amazing story an american shooter who beat the
world this. Year this summer you definitely want to stand.
(42:01):
BY for this a lot of things. Going on here
also a, question for you would you consider for your
personal protection gun? A three eighty i know the way, back,
People say well i'm not gonna Cary a ninecause i'm
gonna carry forty five because nine. Is too small and
now everybody who's carrying, A nine says i wouldn't carry
a three eighty because. That's too small but would you
(42:24):
would you consider carrying a three pistol chamber for the?
Three eighty cartridge would it be easier to? Carry to
conceal what would? Your? Concerns BE what and i got
a reason for Asking this and i'll get into that when,
we get back and just. BE it here i was
(42:45):
tinkering with one yesterday with pocket carry with a new.
Pocket carry holster it's not out and. It was cool
it was enough to make me start rethinking, to, GO
okay yeah i. CAN see this i can see a.
Place for this so the question on, the floor is
(43:06):
you know what would your REACTION be, if, i said
okay you got to switch from your nine to, a
three eighty or maybe in, stead of switching maybe add
it to your battery, if you will as one of the.
Options you have so We're Gonna have queen victoria and
three eighties and concealed carry in, long range rifles shoot
(43:26):
and when we come back right here, On, Gun Talk Hey.
I'm todd gresham don't go far
