Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Ruger Sfaar is one of the trim is three
eight modern sporting rifles available more power but lighter in
the field and range. See how light it is at
Ruger dot com.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
All righty, we're entering our three of Gun Talk. I'm
Tom Gresham and you can join me by giving me
a call. Call me a Tom Talk gun. Pretty easy
the way we set that up. So I cleared the deck.
We have made room for you. We can talk about
pretty much anything you want to talk about. We have
had Tarren Butler on the show. We've talked about Sidney Sweeney.
(00:34):
We talked about me surprising this twelve year old with
a GT thirty rifle. We had our first shouldn't be
the only range report on the brand new GT thirty rifle,
the Scout rifle. It's it's pretty cool, even if I
do say so myself. But basically, we'll talk about the
things that you want to talk about. I will at
some point. I want to talk a little bit about
(00:56):
this sig P three twenty controversy. We had another development
and that this week. Crazy stuff going on, but I'll
get to that first. Let's go to the phones though.
Let's go grab line four John's with us out of Missouri.
Hey John, thank you for your patience.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Talk to me, what do you? What do you? What
are you looking at here?
Speaker 4 (01:14):
So?
Speaker 5 (01:15):
I was looking to get a new concealed carry weapon,
and I researching and doing some research, and I ran
across a Ruger five seven or five point seven that
takes like the SKS, ammo. And I used to own
an SKS, and I.
Speaker 6 (01:32):
Really liked it.
Speaker 5 (01:33):
And I know it's not really a concealed carry, but
I kind of I'm really digging the gun, and I
was just wondering what your opinion on it was. I mean,
is it nice? I mean I probably use it for
like plunking and just playing around with Tom.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Let me let me back up.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
When you see it takes SKS, ammo, what are you
talking about the.
Speaker 5 (01:54):
Five two by no?
Speaker 2 (01:57):
No, no, no, no, no no, no, that's not what it takes.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
It takes five eight.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
M oh that is not Yes, different, different cartridge altogether
from what you're thinking of.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
Okay, Well, I do still like it, and I would
I would value your opinion on it.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
I would suggest that you take a look at one
and get your hands I want in a store because
it's uh, And here's the deal. The gun is a
little larger than you might think at first. It's also
very lightweight, and it feels really good in the hands.
And it's huge really well, and the five to seven
cartridge doesn't have much recoil. It's a little bit loud,
but it's a high velocity ran. Would it be a
(02:36):
carry gun? It's big. For that, I think it's big.
It might work for you. You'll have to figure that out.
As a gun at the range, it's fun, oh yeah,
it's a hoot and a half. And as a home
defense gun, I would not discount this at all. I
think that's a really good round for a home defense gun.
(02:57):
But like I say, the gun even know it's lightweight,
it's a pretty good size pistol. So before I would
just buy one thing and that's gonna be my carry gun,
I would sure take a good hard look at it
in the store.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Go take a look and see what you think. And
look and if it's a place where.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
It's arranged and you can rent one and shoot it there,
even better, get us here to try it before you
buy it.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Thanks for the call, appreciate that. Let's run down to talk.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
To Jeff out of Colorado. Hey Jeff, thanks for your call, sir.
How can we help you?
Speaker 7 (03:28):
Hey Tom, first time caller. I was listening to talk
to that woman. If she's having trouble loading her magazines,
and I expected you to mention them like a magulo,
make Lula whatever or called well speedloader. If she really
is comfortable with her nine and milimeter, that would be
(03:49):
a cheap option.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Well it is, but she also because of the strength
in her hands, which she has lost, she has a
lot of trouble working the slide, and so that's why
I was trying to get her into maybe the shield
easy in a three eighty, so you have a much
easier slide to work, and of course the loading the magazinesier.
But yeah, if it was just the magazines, yes, a
(04:12):
mag oder would probably take care of it. When you
add in the difficulty of working a slide, then it
gets a little bit more complicated.
Speaker 7 (04:23):
Okay, I can appreciate that. So another option would be
the Ruger Mark for twenty two forty five. I have one,
and I love that thing. And it's got those little
knobs on each side of this magazine, so you can
just slide it down and drop the loads. Right in there.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
That's a really good idea.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
And that's and they've got those in a lightweight version,
and it is a shooter and you can actually get
it in these cool antidized colors. That's a good thought.
I should have thought of that, but I'm glad you
brought it up. And for anybody who has it, looked
at one of those. The twenty is a really nice
(05:02):
feeling twenty two pistol. They designed it so the grip
would be very similar to a nineteen eleven. That was
the whole idea. That's the Slash forty five and it's
a twenty two pistol, and they come threaded so you
could put us pressure on it if you wanted to.
And you're right the little projections on the follower so
you can just slide it down on the magazine and
(05:24):
then drop loads in. That's what the Easy does. They
did the exact same thing in the three eighty and
the nine milimeter on the Easy, so that works very well.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
The cool idea, and.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
I kind of am embarrassed I didn't think about that,
but that's a really good suggestion, sir, and I appreciate
you bringing that up.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Jeff.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Thank you sir, that's grab Paul online five out of Nevada.
Hey Paul, you're on gun talk here, looking at this
whole four gun challenge here.
Speaker 8 (05:50):
Hey, well, I'm going to stick with the all around needs.
So the grim first would be hatching gun. I guess
my Riuger America in six five creed More, which is accurate,
is all get out? Follow that by chuck gun, I
have a Bonelli or today three engage, so kind of
(06:18):
kind of a necessary thing, right, and then it would
be the.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Effort for the andy.
Speaker 8 (06:24):
I would be the LUTs for when the apocalypse hits
or whatever, you know, good self defense.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
And all right a right to it.
Speaker 8 (06:35):
Yeah, the tough part would be which one, but that's
another story. And then after that would be Block G
forty five, which is a nine millimeter full handle like
the seventeen, but shorter barrel like the nineteen. Just carriable
a little bit for carrying but but conceivable but good
(06:55):
all around, use reliable pistols, and.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
It uses standard block mags, which if there's ever a
magazine you're liable to find somewhere, it's probably going to
be a glock mag.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
So I like that idea as well.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
So I think that's a really good roundup of four
guns and our four gun challenge.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Very good. Thank you, Paul, appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Speaking of the block magazines, I've been shooting the Ruger
RXm that they did in con collaboration with Magpool.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
There's a lot of people.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Calling on the line saying, Okay, Magpol, we're never going
to see more grips, and Magpool keeps answering, we're working
on it pretty soon. The RX and pistol uses that
fire control unit. They call it something else, but it's
a little small piece inside that's the serialized part. That's
the actual firearm. So when Magpool or other aftermarket companies
(07:54):
come out with different polymer grips, you'll be able to
drop that fire control unit to that, and that's the
same gun. It's just different grips. So you can get
short ones for Castillo kerry, you can get big ones
for range use, you get different styles. It's really gonna
be exciting to see what people do with that. The
reason I mentioned that following up on the glock story
(08:17):
is that it uses glock magazine. So excuse me, Ruger
calls them g pattern magazines. Yeah, okay, great, I know corporately.
You can't say glock. I get that, but they're glock
magazines and you can find them everywhere, and.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
This pistol.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
I don't get surprised very often, honestly, because I've shot
guns for a long, long, long time. When I was
growing up, literally everybody who made a gun sent it
to our house.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
I'm not kidding you.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Every gun maker sent every gun to our house, and
we had them all because my dad was a gun
writer and we had rooms full of guns. So I
don't get surprised very often. The RXm surprise me. It
doesn't look a lot different, it doesn't necessarily feel a
(09:09):
lot different. But when it's a combination of small things
that add up to one big thing, maybe I'm not
saying it well, I don't exactly know how to explain it.
But when I pick it up, it feels good in
my hand, feels better than glock. I'm sorry, Glock. You
make really good guns.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
It just does.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
The sites are excellent, iron sights are excellent. It's set
up where you could very easily put a red dot
on it. It's just a really good, all around, middle
of the road. Four hundred and fifty dollars MSRP pistol.
So that's what I've been carrying for the last several weeks.
And oh, speaking of carry before I get to that,
(09:53):
I want to just mention and we'll get to the
break of just a second gym, the idea of when
do you can I've been watching news stories. There is
so much craziness out there. I just read a story
about somebody who killed an uber driver just because he
wanted to blow off steam. The killer just wanted to
blow off steam, so he killed an uber driver. You
(10:17):
see cycle paths and sociopaths. A guy is mad at
the CDC, so he goes and shoots that up. He says,
because of vaccines. Okay, you're a crazy man. There's just
a lot of crazy at here. There's a lot of
evil out there, and it shows up at the most
unexpected places, unexpected times. And I live in a place
(10:41):
where people would say, well, that's a very safe place.
You don't need to carry a gun, except that they're
crazy everywhere. And there have been times when I'm starting
to leave the house and think, oh wait, I don't
have my gun, Well do I really need my gun today?
And then I give myself a virtual slap upside the
head and say, okay, stupid. You know there's crazy everywhere,
(11:03):
and you know that you could run across the guy
who is just on the side of the road.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
You stop to help. All of a sudden, you don't
know what's going to happen. So I put it on.
Every time I leave the house, I have a gun on.
Is that too much? Maybe? How do you know? Though?
Speaker 2 (11:22):
That's the problem. If it's more than you need and
you didn't need it, what's the downside? But if you
don't have it and you need it, what's the cost
to you and to your family?
Speaker 3 (11:39):
Anyway?
Speaker 2 (11:39):
I just want to explain that's kind of my thought process.
That's how I think about it as I'm deciding when
I'm going to carry. There's a lot of crazy out there,
and all you have to do is read the stories,
read the news. You'll see what I'm talking about. How
do you make that decision? And frankly, do you carry
all the time? Eight six' six talk.

jerry what'd you?
Speaker 11 (14:49):
Do?
Speaker 6 (14:51):
WELL i tell You i'm not A mastery, Loader, tom
But i've loaded for twenty five thirty years for every
rifle THAT i, have AND i recently acquired a second
to forty Three. Winchester this is a short mouser action
gun built In, europe AND i was going to put
(15:11):
together some loads for, it AND i normally USE h
forty one. Shortcut that's What i've been using in My
savage two forty. Three, HOWEVER i shot it a little
bit with some loads AND i didn't like the, group
SO i was going to pull apart the other rounds
THAT i had. Here And i've got two containers of,
(15:32):
powder one in my reloading room and one is in
another room here in the, basement SO i don't theoretically
confuse WHAT.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
I have just.
Speaker 6 (15:39):
Done but, anyway long story, SHORT i GUESS i was
disassembling or. DELOADING i Guess i've got eighteen rounds here
of two forty THREE b, brass.
Speaker 11 (15:55):
And the.
Speaker 6 (15:59):
Box THAT i was using here holds twenty. ROUNDS i
had eighteen of, them AND i dumped them into a
separate container with the powder one and bullets and the other,
one and INADVERTENTLY i THOUGHT i was having the forty
three FIFTY h forty three. Fifty So i've got eighteen
(16:21):
rounds worth OF h forty eight thirty one shortcuts sitting
in my brand new one pound container OF h forty.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Three, okay you basically combined two powders.
Speaker 6 (16:31):
Into one can in a, burden WHICH i, Yep and
that's a no. No BUT i don't know IF i
want to put another pound of gunpowder on my yard for.
Fertilizer CAN i CAN i use the and make use
of my screw up?
Speaker 3 (16:45):
Here? No, no, no, no, no, no absolutely.
Speaker 13 (16:48):
Not you.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Cannot it's it's. Toast it's it's. Ruined you cannot use
that mixed.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Up powder for. Anything, no, okay, okay just just, no
it's just it's just you.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Can't you've combined two different powders and one. Can they
have different burning. Rates here's the. Problem, now even though
you can, say well they're, similar we don't know what you.
Have now you have an experimental gunpowder you've. Made we
don't know what the burning rate. Is we don't know
what's gonna.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Happen is they it.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Burns you don't know if you're going to get more,
pressure less, pressure different pressure curves there and you already
said that there is only one, solution And i'm. Sorry
we got to go make fertilizer out of, It go
spread it out on the lawn and go, okay. Chalk,
look we've all done stuff like this and we've all,
said oh, man, YEAH i gotta go pour this.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
Out.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Uh but here's the Good the good news is you recognized.
It you're smart enough experienced enough to look at that go,
oh look WHAT i just. Did and let me guess
before you call, me you knew what the answer, was didn't.
Speaker 6 (17:55):
You, well in my heart and, soul, YEAH i KNEW
i screwed, up AND i knew that the right thing
to do. Here and THEN i got onto my burn
rate charts AND i started checking those back and. Forth
well it's only two grain Spread, YEAH i. Know but
still you got two different cancer types of powder in
the same canas you, know which is a big red
flag if you do any. Reloading you, know that's that's
that's a.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Normal, well here's the, Deal, jerry if some if one
of your friends came to you and that happened to, him.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
What would you tell?
Speaker 6 (18:20):
HIM i tell him to make fertilizer out of.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
It, yes, exactly, well good luck with.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
It it's you, know good on you for recognizing that
sometimes we just get into an, idea we get so
far into it we go holy.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
Cow DID i just do?
Speaker 2 (18:37):
That and then you back up and going now wait
to salvage, it and you, go, yeah now this is
going to cost me a pound of.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Powder just go pour it out or go buy some more.
Powders so, Hey, JERRY i appreciate the.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
Call, LOOK i get it that you may have screwed,
up but you owning up to it and calling us
is a teachable. Moment it lets us share that information
with other people where you, say, okay this is what you.
Do so, there appreciate. That all, right let me address this.
Thing let me just second, here get this paper. Out
what's going on with the SIG p three. Twenty for
(19:13):
a couple of, years maybe, more people have been, saying
this gun just goes off without you may pull the,
trigger AND sig kept, saying, no it.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Doesn't we can't reproduce. It we. Can't we've looked at
all these and there's always something else going.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
On it's a cop has keys on his belt and
he puts the gun in the holster and the, key
pulls the trigger this, that and then people on the
online are showing videos and, say, yeah, no, actually we
can reproduce. That we can make it go off if
you do a certain thing and you jiggle it this
way and you pull the trigger this way just a
little bit and then press down on the barrel. Maybe
and then we had this story An Air force and
(19:49):
airman was killed a few weeks. Ago supposedly the gun
is HIS m, eighteen which is A p three. Twenty
he's in the whole, street he takes it, off he
puts it on the table in front of, him, unfortunately
pointing it at, himself.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Supposedly and the gun just goes off and kills.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
HIM i have always been skeptical of those the gun
just went off. Claims but people, said, wow the gun
just went. Off and The Air force, says all, right,
everybody we're not using this gun until we sorted. Out
we got to look at, this let's see what's going.
On go put a pause on. This and the reaction
(20:33):
among the shooting world, Was, okay we're not going to
allow those guns in our shooting. Ranges we're not gonna
allow them in our. Classes and then a few days
ago we hit the. Story The Air force has arrested
an airman in conjunction with The july twenty death of another,
airman which involved at six hour eighteen and led to
the service suspending the use of the. Pistol in A friday,
(20:57):
statement A department of The Air force spoke said that
the unidentified arrested person is accused of making a false official,
statement obstruction of justice and involuntary men's. Slaughter we don't
have any other information as of this. Point clearly something
(21:23):
else was going on. Here clearly there's more to the.
Story AND sig put out a statement several days, ago and,
filstrator our friend over there puts out a. Statement he,
says look all these ranges that are saying you can't
use OF sig. Three he, says contact. ME i want
to talk to. YOU i want to explain what we
know about this and what we know about these stories
(21:47):
that you may not. Know and he, said, BASICALLY sig
continues to, say there's not a. Problem we cannot reproduce,
it and there's something else going. On is the.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
TRUTH i don't know.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Who it's muddy the waters even, more BUT i know
there are places that won't let you shoot now if
you have a CIG p three. Twenty obviously this story
is going to be. Continued still love to get those range.
(22:20):
Reports if you've been out doing a little, shooting you
took something out, there maybe you introduced somebody to a.
Sport don't have to be a report on a particular.
Gun it can be just talking about a particular experience
that you've. Had our number here Is Tom Talk.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Gun that's Me.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Tom we talked, gun so maybe it's pretty Easy Tom Talk.
Gun let's see.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Here toarney called in out of Surprised. ARIZONA i believe
that Is Hey, tourny you're on Gun Talk.
Speaker 6 (22:45):
TOM i wanted to give you a quick range report
on A RUGER, RXm SO i heard you talking about
it a little little while. AGO i got an email
from a major online retailer and it was A RUGER
RXm with a bunch of extra mags and a nice
carrying case and a threaded, barrel and it was a smoking.
PRICE i would have lost money IF i hadn't bought.
(23:07):
It SO i went ahead and went ahead and bought.
It had it out to the range last week AND
i got. IT i, Mean i've got plenty of glock
pattern pistols, already BUT i really liked THE. RXm BUT
i agree that the sites are. Nice but the THING
i like best about it is the. TRIGGER i thought
(23:27):
the trigger was much better than an actual glock.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
Trigger, okay so you have.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
A lot of experienced shooting, obviously it probably you're, Thinking,
okay why DO i need another pistol that's kind of
glock ish or glock, like and yet you bought this
new ruger that takes block.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Mags what was the experience like when you first took
it out to the.
Speaker 6 (23:53):
Range, well LIKE i, SAID i pretty much expected it
to shoot like a, glock but it Was first of,
ALL i loved the threaded barrel Because i'm a Big
i'm a big suppressor, guy SO i love shooting my
handguns with, suppressors and it shot fantastic with a. Suppressor
but LIKE i, said the grip angle is a little
bit different than a.
Speaker 8 (24:15):
Block but.
Speaker 6 (24:18):
It was the trigger THAT i was really impressed. WITH
i just wasn't expecting. That AND i guess a lot
of the parts for THE RXm are actually interchangeable with a.
Glock nineteen have not tried that. Yet that's all you,
know saw it on the. Internet if it's on the,
internet it's got to be. True but, Yeah i'm a
little dubious about that. Claim but, yeah apparently a lot
(24:41):
of the parts are. Interchangeable BUT i really liked the,
gun and for the money THAT i paid and EVERYTHING
i got for it in terms of accessories and, EXTRAS i,
MEAN i couldn't go. WRONG i did put a red
dot on, it SO i went that. ROUTE i put
a hot delta point on, it And i'm still working
my way up to red. Dots i've been shooting iron
(25:04):
sights for over forty. Years for me to get to
a red, Dot i'm Just i'm. Work i'm taking baby.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Steps, YEAH i, understand.
Speaker 11 (25:13):
BUT i really like.
Speaker 6 (25:15):
IT i, MEAN i don't know If i'm going to carry,
it BECAUSE i already carry a forty THREE x and
AN Fn reflex as my carry, Guns SO i don't
know If i'm going to carry. It BUT i got
to tell, you for a range gun and shooting suppressed
with my, kids it's going to be perfect for. That
and LIKE i, SAID i just got such a smoke
(25:37):
and deal on.
Speaker 8 (25:37):
IT i JUST i couldn't turn it, down you, Know
AND i agree with you about the.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Trigger and it's not that the trigger is. Lighter it's
not that it's. Different it's a more precise trigger without being.
LIGHTER i don't even know how to explain it, exactly you,
know it's always difficult to try to explain a feel.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Thing but it's very.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Repeatable it's not super, light but it's not heavy at
the same. TIME i took it to a match and
found that after like the first four or five, shots it's, Like,
OH i like this thing a, lot And I'm i'm
making pretty quick shots on.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
STEEL i mean they're quick for me and not quick
for a term butler or something like. That, sure, YEAH i.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
AGREE i mean the trigger out of the box for
a not, expensive not a match gun is really.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Good.
Speaker 6 (26:27):
Yeah IF i had to describe the, TRIGGER i would
say that THE RXm trigger feels a little more, tactile
a little smoother and crisper than a glock.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
Trigger, okay, yeah because the glocks tend to be a little, spongy, right.
Speaker 6 (26:41):
Yeah, Yeah AND i didn't get. THAT i didn't get
that kind of feedback on the trigger from THE. RXm
it just felt very, purposeful very, crisp and very deliberate
AND i really really like. That and LIKE i, Said
i'm really impressed with. IT i really really liked the
gun AND i Think ruger did a great job with.
It and But i'm not going to be switching any
(27:02):
parts from my block. Nineteen i'll tell you that right.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
Now all, Right, well speaking of switching, parts are you
tuned in on the whole idea Of magpool bringing out
different grips and frames for this?
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Thing?
Speaker 6 (27:13):
Yes, SO i Mean magpool makes amazing, stuff AND i
think this collaboration With ruger is is really. Unique so
so we'll. SEE i, mean to be honest with, you
the grip that came with the Gun i'm very happy.
WITH i probably won't get another, grip another grip, module
(27:33):
but you, know you never. KNOW i never said THAT
i was going to get another block pattern gun.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
Either and HERE i.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
AM i just SAID i would bet money with another.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
Module, Well, TOM i am not an, idiot AND i
would not take that.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Bet, yeah you wouldn't bet against, yourself.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
Right, no definitely, not definitely. Not, UNFORTUNATELY i Know i'm
very well aware of my.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Weaknesses there you, go all, right we share.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
That, well, GREAT i appreciate the call very. Much, yeah THAT.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Xm AS i, SAY i don't get surprised very often
with new, guns and this would surprise. Me it's LIKE i,
WELL i will tell. YOU i, mean it's been on
my hip for several weeks. Now NOW i do carry
outside the. Waistband i'm not an inside the waistband guy
for the most. Part now it's a little larger and
it works really well WITH awb. Holster that works. Great
i've got a couple, holsters WHICH i got to. Mention
(28:26):
ONE i got is A. Kaidex it's a little too.
Tight but the instructions they have, is, look just take
a heat gun and heat up a little bit and
work with it and don't overdo. It So i'm gonna
borrow a heat gun from a neighbor who has, one
AND i gave you report to figure out IF i
have melted down my holster or. Not quick time to

go talk to. Him he's In. Nevada, yim thanks for calling.
In you got some news for.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
Us.
Speaker 11 (31:27):
Yeah two weeks AGO i took my course FOR. Ccw
it was given by The District attorney Of Churchill county
at that. Time he informed me it is now illegal
in state Of nevada to go shooting on public lands
unless you're, hunting and he had to go through and
designate all the gun ranges in the. County in, FACT
(31:52):
i was in the process of putting in a gun.
Range So i'm going to have him at me to
that BECAUSE i have no idea what my home a
chance is going to. Say IF i don't have it
designated or give them excuse or drop me or.
Speaker 3 (32:08):
Something i'm trying to catch up.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Here he's saying it's illegal to shoot on public property
unless it is an officially designated shooting.
Speaker 11 (32:20):
Range, correct LIKE blm or any of those. Lands how would.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
That have come? About is that something the legislature?
Speaker 11 (32:29):
Passed, yes AS i understand, It and we used to
have a very liberal governor and we always have had
a very liberal.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
Legislature holy.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Cow, okay well are you going to be able to
get your private range?
Speaker 3 (32:44):
DESIGNATED i shoot.
Speaker 11 (32:48):
A half mile from my house and NOW i joined a.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
Range ah, Wow, OKAY i tell you. What, WELL i
appreciate the heads.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Up i'm going to do some follow up and we'll
get some information on what that means and how that
came about and maybe how we can get it.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
Undone thank you for the call. THERE i appreciate.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
That let's go talk To john out Of Hot Springs,
Village arkansas To, Hey, john you're on Gun.
Speaker 4 (33:11):
Talk talk to, Me, Well, hey how are?
Speaker 2 (33:14):
YOU i?
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Am, well? Sir are you talking about THE sig? Three, yes?
Speaker 6 (33:20):
Sir my question was this And remington seven hundred issues?
Speaker 3 (33:29):
Right going OFF yep with the truth with the trigger
on the seven.
Speaker 6 (33:36):
Hundred, yes and they denied it for they denied it for.
Decades she did Not.
Speaker 3 (33:42):
Tom, Correct you were?
Speaker 8 (33:43):
Correct, now is this the same situation with THE Sig,
well we.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Don't, know you, know we know now what happened With
remington and the seven hundred trigger right, now because we're
in the middle of, it we don't really know what's going.
On we don't know if there is one in, fact
a real, issue if it's if it's the way people
are handling, it if there's something else going. On you,
(34:10):
know right, NOW i could argue either, way having seen
some of these videos that people are putting out and,
going oh, wow that that really concerns. Me it looks
like that gun could go. Off and Then sick comes
back and, said, well well we have studied THIS. SiGe
sick probably has more engineers on staff than all the
(34:31):
other gun companies. Combined so they, said, look we put
our engineers on, That we've looked at, it and we've
gone and talked to everybody who's made these claims that
we've you, know we haven't been able to reproduce. It
And i'm, thinking, well, okay that that sounds reasonable, too
So i've got two conmpletely conflicting things here that both sound.
(34:54):
Believable SO, i you, know use your analogy Of riminton
with the seven hund trigger if you can imagine in
the middle of, that you're, Thinking, OKAY i don't know
who to believe on this.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
Thing, well right now we're in THE i don't know
who to believe on this.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
Thing, yeah, yeah and that's that's the.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
Tale you're going to save your?
Speaker 7 (35:14):
COMPANY i, mean what are you going to?
Speaker 4 (35:15):
Do?
Speaker 6 (35:15):
Right?
Speaker 7 (35:16):
SO i don't?
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Know, yeah so, yeah we all have that.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Thought Is, okay are you telling me that because you're
trying to save the company or are you telling me
that because that is in fact the?
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Case?
Speaker 2 (35:26):
Uh and then what about these other? People what's going on?
There and, LOOK i don't blame somebody if they, say,
Look i'm just concerned about, this and the old phrase
of you to err on the side of. Caution i'm
going to put away my three twenty and not use
it for now UNTIL i figure out what's going. On
a lot of people are doing. That it's it's a
(35:48):
big muddy mess right. Now AND i don't like having
to SAY i don't, know AND i don't like having
to SAY i don't know what to tell you to.
Do no one likes this feeling of, uncertainty but that's
where we. ARE i, WISH i WISH i were. Certain
(36:10):
there are people online who are very certain about. THIS
i found that generally, speaking people who with YouTube channels
who are very certain about things are often.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
Wrong so there you. Go, LIKE i appreciate the, call,
sir we have time to Get sean in. HERE i
think we.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Do, yeah let's do that Scrab sewan out Of, Littleton
colorado for Gun.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
Sean what are your?
Speaker 13 (36:30):
CHOICES i want my sixteen Inch Bravo company with the
Strike egle one to eight on, it AND i want
MY m four So calm with the Strike egle on
it with the one to. SIX i want my sig
(36:51):
SOUR p two twenty six mark twenty, five AND i
want My RUGER.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
RXm interesting, there.
Speaker 13 (37:00):
Huh. NO i used to shoot trap a long time, Ago,
tom AND i wore my shoulder out with a, shotgun
So i've switched to THE ar And i'm just it's
the greatest invention That Eugene stoner ever came up.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
With it is an amazing.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Platform all, right question for you got two ars in,
there are they both five five? Six, yes they.
Speaker 13 (37:27):
Are and the REASON i throw the socom in there
is because it's a heavy barrel and it can sustain
more fire quicker without any kind of issues that standard
government profile barrel could potentially.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Incur AND i take it from your list that you
have A ruger RXm oh, YEAH i love that.
Speaker 13 (37:52):
Pistol you turned me onto, it And i'm not looking, back,
man isn't that?
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Amazing it just and it's one of those Your i'm
not prepared to like it as much as you.
Speaker 13 (38:01):
Do, Well i've never liked. GLOCKS i had a glock
twenty three and a g nineteen AND i was, LIKE
i can't shoot this thing with the grip angle it.
Has and so when you were talking about, IT i
started doing some research on, it and it has a
little bit less of a grip, angle yes than the glock,
(38:23):
nineteen and it has a nineteen eleven style angle, grip
AND i fell in love with. It not to mention
that has that finger knot underneath the trigger guard like
the SIGs holler, yeah twenty yes.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
Compact it gets your hand higher on the grip and
it allows you to control the recoil and get your better.
Grip LIKE i, said if the combination of a lot
of little subtle, things the grip, angle the finger, groove
all the rest.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
Of, it you. Go you put it all together and.
GO i don't know exactly what it, is BUT i
just like the way it, feels and just like, you
everybody ends up and the same thing about.
Speaker 11 (39:01):
It.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
Okay SO i, truly seriously hope we never have.
Speaker 3 (39:14):
To make the decision to get down to four guns.
Only but if we, did.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
There we Are paul And walstilla wants to talk About.
Paul four, Guns you gotta narrow it down to.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
That what are your?
Speaker 4 (39:26):
Choices first would be My Dan wesson Point man seven
and ten Milimeter that is at the bottom end of
four legged aggressors in the top end of two, legged
but it'll do them both good for. It the second
(39:47):
would be My Taris model ninety four to twenty Two.
Revolver it's not quite as accurate as My ruger, automatic
but it is a hell of a lot more, carriable.
Okay third would Be revington eight to seventy youth model twenty.
(40:08):
Gauge oh, Interesting, why, well it's a little smaller it's more.
Portable i'm assuming the reason we can only have four,
guns we're going to be carrying them.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Right, well there's, That, yeah it could.
Speaker 4 (40:20):
Be, anyways As Jeff cooper, said a short stock is
easier to learn to shoot than a long.
Speaker 3 (40:28):
Stock.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
Yep and that's a real Dot an eight seventy youth
model and it shot like a house afire and twenty.
Gauge you can carry a few more shelves to make
up for the ten millimeter shells That i'm trying to.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
Carry, okay and then.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
My marlin thirty, thirty IF i could only have one,
gun that would be. It IF i IF i have
to face the end of the apocalypse with one, gun
is going to be That marlin thirty.
Speaker 3 (41:02):
Thirty, WELL i.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
Don't disagree with the good. Choices, LOOK i appreciate. That
let me go Grab, Hank. HANK i got about a
minute for you dive.
Speaker 3 (41:11):
In please are gonna get this?
Speaker 11 (41:12):
In, YEAH i.
Speaker 14 (41:14):
Was you talked me into getting another, one just. It
you taught me into new. ONE i was gonna go
get a, fuse AND i went to the store and
was trying out the, fuse and no matter WHAT i,
did every TIME i held it up to check it.
OUT i had to do the head bob to get
the sights to line. Up i'm sure you know What
i'm talking. About you know you're you're looking looking. Up
(41:36):
look you, do moving your head up and, down moving
the pistol, around and just no matter WHAT i. Did
SO i gave up on that, one AND i remembered
what you said about THE. RXm saw the, display picked it,
up sites were. PERFECT i, said that's got to be a.
FLUKE i set it, down picked it back. Up there
are the sights again. Perfect ever since, then any of,
(41:58):
THEM i have checked it in the gun, show those other,
SHOPS i et. PERFECT i picked mine up the ONE
i bought perfect every. Time IF i could only shoot that, Good,
well there's that.
Speaker 4 (42:10):
There, yeah, YEAH i GET i.
Speaker 3 (42:13):
Get, no you're right the same being with. ME i
pick it up and go insite to right on the.
Money like the. TRIGGER i, mean it's, honestly it's one
of those what's not to?
Speaker 14 (42:21):
Like, yeah, yep it shoots really. Well and now one
THING i have to ask you real, quick when you
disassembled yours to clean, it do you have to pull
the trigger?
Speaker 8 (42:31):
Twice clean?
Speaker 3 (42:33):
It what are you talking about.
Speaker 14 (42:38):
WHEN i WHEN i you, know WHEN i first got,
IT i took it apart to wipe some of the
excess oil and g AND i.
Speaker 3 (42:45):
Apologize we are a slap out of.
Speaker 2 (42:47):
TIME i will tell you. This we shot on r
EX m more than eight thousand times without cleaning it
at the. RANGE i have not cleaned mine. YET i
will clean it next. Year you Think i'm being silly and.
Speaker 3 (43:01):
FUNNY i am.
Speaker 2 (43:02):
NOT i have not cleaned it. NOW i will probably
clean it next. Year and That's i'm, Look i'm not
the guy to, mimic but that's kind of HOW i.
Rolled but we did shoot one for more than eight
thousand rounds without a single. Malfunction why would you do?
That because we, could and we had a, class and
we had a bunch of people. There we had a
bunch of Hammer we said, there, back come over and
(43:23):
shoot this. Gun, well if we, had we had had
to stick it down in a bucket of water to
cool it off and keep it. Going and if you
want to join us for the after, show call me
right now eight six six talk. Gun in the, meantime
go shooting this. Week pick somebody with you
