(00:21):
s R. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, get
here for yourself. Yeah, is that wrong? I am the greatest.
My Rickey Henderson moment, my Muhammad Ali. But you think

(00:44):
back to that Rickie Henderson moment when we were kids. Yeah,
I am the greatest. It's pretty uh pretty bold. I mean,
you know, I gotta say until someone else does so.
All right again, Cavino and Rich at Covino and Rich
on social media. I'm just the bonehead from Union, New Jersey.
Now I'm out here in the mean streets of LA
broadcasting live. Do you that's Rich Davis Square, Long Island,

(01:08):
And here we are together doing the show with Rob
and Ty Shirt, having fun on a Friday. I'm excited
for the weekend, Excited that the Yankees are winning two
to one right now, let's go those And I know
you're excited about your nine ers. I mean it's preseason,
but I think I've seen all I need to see.
Four for five ninety two yards a seventy six yard

(01:29):
on the money pass, Trey Lance. I mean, I'm talking
like this guy's a Pro Bowl unbelievable. I've seen all
I need to see. Turn it off like Norm Duke,
or like a like a Pete Wember. Yeah, that type
of pro bowler now, But Trey Lance, preseason means nothing.
But I guess you'd rather your guy look sharp than not. Yes, right,

(01:49):
I mean it's yeah, it's the well, if he stinks,
who cares? But if he does well, you're gonna be like,
all right, at least he's he's looking sharp so far.
But again it's all second strength. Thirty string gets you
hype for the season. You know we're getting hyped. You're
that hype train. Yeah. Um, we learned today what that
Fernando tattoos junior eighty game suspension. But he said that

(02:14):
is because of a substance he took that contained something
I tested positive worm. He had ring worm. Apparently I
got rash. That was at the baseball for half a season.
That's the story. I don't know, But if I was
a Padres fan, I'd be furious. I'm like, what, ring Worm?
Yeah what what did he take? How your responsible? Oh yeah, Ringworm,

(02:36):
it takes the rich all right. Uh? Tysher played it
real quick for everyone because I was talking about the
Deshaun Watson thing. Not only was he one for seven tonight,
not a not a Jimmy, not a Jimmy, not a
Trey Lance start to the preseason, but he made it
even worse by just sounding disingenuous. I want to say
that I'm truly sorry to all the women that I've
impacted in the situation by the decision that I made

(02:58):
in my life that put me in this position. And
I would definitely like to have that, but I want
to continue to move forward and grow and learn and
and show that, you know, I am a true person
of character, and I want to keep pushing forward in
his defense. And I'm in no business to defend this guy.
I'm not trying to do that. I'm just saying that
obviously it seems prepared, but for good reason, because he

(03:21):
just probably doesn't want to say anything that someone could
twist and turn and spec in a weird way like,
oh he said this, And I always could you know,
root for someone to better themselves. It's my point, listen,
I'm rooting for Deshaun Watson to become a better dude
and you know, make some positive changes in his life.
Saying that was and not from the hard statement ever,

(03:45):
and uh agreed. I don't know. Uh, there's a few
things I want to get through this hour, but any
final thoughts on Jimmy g not deserving Cleveland has to
possibly a Fox Sports Radio hot take of the day
is you know, not only is he a too too
good of a guy and a winner and it kind
of took his team to the Super Bowl. Too good

(04:05):
for the Browns last year. He was handsome for their uniform.
That's I'm sticking with that. Last year he was one
forty nine Ers dropped interception away from taking a second
forty nine Ers team to the Super Bowl. We forget
how close that NFC Championship game was between the Rams
and the Niners last year. The forty nine Ers were
winning that game in the fourth quarter by double digits

(04:28):
and at one point, at one point the fourth quard
I believe they were up by double digits and they
just let the game slip away. The Browns as an
organization look like someone who makes bad decisions, right, and
you don't want to associate yourself, especially if you have
a great reputation. You're handsome, you're a winner, you could
be the face of a franchise. Do you want to

(04:49):
be associated with a woman, a relationship, a person, A
team that makes bad decisions are used to make bad decisions.
You're better than that. I'll piggyback. And that's that's that's
where I and my thoughts on Jimmy g with the Browns.
I'll piggybacks better than that. I'll piggyback I thought I
heard earlier. And I don't know if he wants to

(05:09):
give any one piggyback rides, though, Colin Cowherd, he might.
He's a fun guy. Yeah would Would he gritty? Though?
Is the question. I don't think he would. I don't
think it would either. He might, Yeah, with a cigar
after a couple of vodka, so he might, Colin might.
I don't look at you like I don't gritty. The
Herd dunt gritty. He doesn't wear a hat backwards. You
think he Gritti's yeah, you don't know. You don't really

(05:30):
know him until he seemed gritty. Um, but I heard
Cowherd say something pretty wise, which he always does. The
guy's super brilliant with that stuff. But Jimmy G to
the Giants make this happen, I don't know how. It's
not so obvious. I'm sure behind the scenes there's chat
is happening. If that does happen, right, and it makes
more sense to me. You think the Kaepernick story has
any legs to the Browns, Yeah, I don't know. Well, listen, Daniel,

(05:53):
you call him doctor Jones, Daniel Jones. I don't see
how anyone really believes that's the longer term answer for
the Giants, it's a it's a that's a team with
decent personnelity. I think that's a winner, like Jimmy G
that that smile on the vibe and the winning way
come to New York in a division that's not great
the smile, well, honestly is that division lights out? Dallas

(06:15):
got worse. The Eagles are relying on Jalen Hurts and
and you know young players that don't necessarily they haven't
proven much. The Commanders with Carson Wentz, I don't know,
because I want to talk about them in a minute. Well,
I think that's a perfect scenario, though if it were
to unfurl that way, it makes more sense. Jimmy g

(06:36):
is a giant leaving a spot open for the Browns
over Colin. I know that that would be a great
story where he gets his second chance to prove himself. Now,
there's a couple of things I want to get to.
One has to do with have you ever made something
positive happen wild drunk? Think about that? Have you ever

(07:01):
been drunk or high? And something to tie in? No, no,
there's an NFL tye. Okay, there's an NFL tie in.
Have you ever made or pushed for something when you
were drunk or high and it actually turned out to
be a good thing? Not the It's usually the opposite.
It's usually like what did I say? What did I do?
Oh no? Right, you wake up a drunk. Then you

(07:23):
look at your phone You're like, oh no, I did
text that? Oh no. A drunk or highe decision probability wise,
I would say nine out of ten times the drunk
or highe decision does not result in a wise decision.
But sometimes it works out, and I have a story
and involves the rams that broke earlier this week, but
I wanted to bring up something you said a couple

(07:43):
weeks ago here on Fox Sports Radio. Okay, before Joey
Gallo was hitting bombs for the Dodgers. I know you
feel good about that for him, though, I do, because
he had to go. He had to go. It was
it was for his betterment and for the greater good
of the Yankees. It just wasn't working. Man. It's like,

(08:04):
like I said, not to bring it back to real life,
but it's like a relationship. This is a toxic relationship
for both parties. It's not working as bad as you
wanted to work. For whatever reason, the universe doesn't want
this to work. I mean, Gallo was apologizing t Yankees fan, saying,
every time I see the logo, I'll heel terrible for
the rest of my life. He knew that he didn't deliver, man,

(08:25):
and everybody knew that he was a better player than
it had to go man. So to see him do
well and get cheered in LA, I'm happy to see that.
I don't know. I wish he could have done that
for the Yankees, but it didn't work that way. So
I am happy to see that. I'm happy for him.
Now he's better. He was better than that. I bring
up Gallo because it sort of goes along. And by

(08:46):
the way, so far with the Dodgers, not a big
stat line, but he's four for fifteen but RBI big
home run. He has his nice beard back to sixty seven.
He's feeling welcome. Yeah, they said he even started growing
his stubble because he knew his days were numbered for
the Yankees. Well, I haven't a theory that I'm gonna
say for Fox Sports Sunday. Oh, unless you're bringing it

(09:06):
up now. Oh no, no, I was. I was gonna
say that you pointed out that some people are just
not cut out for New York. And it's even more
abundantly clear than ever because another story broke today because
forever Camino on and off the air was like, y'all,
Gallo when he was at the Rangers wherever he was,

(09:27):
he just can't he can't hang. Well, I don't know
if it's the vibe, the pressure of the pinstripes. My
theory goes a little further than that. Like I said,
I'll touch on it now, but I'll save it for
Fox Sports Sunday. But not only Joey gallow there was
a story about Aaron Hicks. Okay, our buddies at wf AN,
we're talking about Aaron Hicks. Or he somehow said that

(09:51):
he's having this terrible season. Remember he was talking about
thirty thirty. I'm gonna go thirty thirty. I think he
may have meant now, I'm gonna go three and three. Yeah,
but I was talking thirty thirty. He was talking thirty thirty,
and he said hearing the booze this year, during this
horrible season, definitely doesn't make it easier. That's his actual quote.
And my deeper thought, again not that deep, but with

(10:14):
today's type of person, they're just not cut out for
that type of behavior. Those booze, those bronx jeers, those
booze hurt a younger man way deeper. They cut way
deeper than they used to. And well there's what avenues too.
I don't think it's not just it's not handle it
the same way. It's not just boost a crowd that way.

(10:36):
It's not just boosing the crowd, Camino. It's social media memes, mockery,
rude stuff about you and your family. And my theory
real quick though, and I'm sure this applies to what
you're about to say, is that what the Yankees fans
are doing I'm a Yankees fan is counterproductive to actually
helping these players prosper. It's like, if you want these

(10:58):
younger men to do well, you can't boo them anymore.
It's getting in their head. They don't have the coping
skills that men of yesteryear used to have. Sound that
way because the reality is, guess what men of yesteryear
didn't have to also deal with Instagram, Twitter, social media
feedback though, so this is more it all ties in man. Well,

(11:18):
they're not cut for it. We know, you know we
You and I have talked about how maybe the novelty
of playing in New York or LA isn't what it
used to be, considering every everyone's got MLBtv, they got
Sunday Ticket, NBA plays all the big teams on national broadcast.
Like you don't need to You don't need to be

(11:38):
a start in a big city the way you used
to have to be. We're conditioned to believe, we're sort
of brainwashed. If I can make it there, I'm make
it anywhere. Tis shaking his head. But there is that
feeling you have of big cities hire. Don't you feel
like that's changed? Though? Social media made the world, Yes,

(12:01):
and it also made it if no one wants the
big pressure of the big city market, if they don't
have to have it, a lot of people don't like that.
I'll give you a story for today, and I want
your thoughts on this. Because you talked about Gallow, you
talked about Aaron Hicks Thor, not Chris Hemsworth, who, by
the way, I think had a birthday yesterday. Noah Synderguard,

(12:22):
former Angel, former Met Thor. Noah synder Guards said part
of the reason he left the Mets was that after
his Tommy John surgery, he knew he was going to
have velocity issues. Synder Guards the type of guy that
was hitting a hundred on the radar gun this year,
he hasn't broke ninety four. And part of his story

(12:43):
is I knew my velocity issues would be magnified by
the New York media market and I didn't want to
deal with that. Wow. Wow, that proves I we were
just saying, that's sort of going along with your Gallo thing.
You'r Aaron Hicks thing. So if Synderguard is even said
as Aaron Hicks steps to the play right now, look
at those numbers two twenty four, two twenty four, five

(13:06):
dogs and thirty two RBI. This is a guy that
reading is getting bad. Six. This is a guy that
said he would go thirty for thirty some of these readers. Yeah, Noah,
synder Guard said a lower stress environment in Anaheim appealed
to him in the offseason. It's also California. He wondered
how difficult it would be to go through his velocity
issues in New York. That was a big fear of mine,

(13:28):
quote synder Guard, the energy that makes New York great
could also bite you in the butt a little bit,
especially with what I'm going through. I feel like if
I was doing that plane here, everything will be highlighted.
So fear so the idea of New York in la Hey, No, listen,
were you live in a different world. Now you could
live You could be honest and live in Milwaukee and

(13:48):
if you're good enough, everyone knows you. You could be
Steph Curry up in the Bay Area and no one
cared about the Warriors. Do you know when they did
when he was a star. Yeah, there's not this set
of expectations. Russell Wilson was a superstar for a Seattle
Seahawks team no one cared about before they got good.
Before their deference is great, twelfth Man, sports is different,
and I gotta say that honesty is is kind of

(14:11):
wild to admit that. Yeah, that's interesting. It really is everything.
It was everything that we're saying. A guy. I see
a guy like Vogelbach that joined the Mets. People are
surrounding his locker, calling him like a folk hero, like,
oh my god, everyone you're you're like the big dude.
And the media is surrounding him. You see, he came
out to my milkshake, bings all the boys to the yard.

(14:32):
He came out to that everybody. Everything he's doing, everybody
seems to be eating up pun intended. Yeah, And he
was saying how when he played in like Pittsburgh, it
was like one reporter. Now he's surrounded by the New
York press. Some people love it, some people doing it up. Man. Yeah,
so he is like a folk here. I heard that
he was eating a chicken leg in the on deck circles.

(14:54):
That's true. No, yeah, yeah, it's great. The guy's crazy.
All right, Well, that's that's really interesting. Man. Again, these
all right, so big City to wrap it up, to
put a nice little bow on this story, to wrap
it up. Our theory is correct based on the truth
of Syndergard Big City markets. If they want these young

(15:17):
players to prosper these set of expectations that come along
with boom you suck, you gotta earn yours, I'm never
gonna win them over and make them comfortable and allow
them to be themselves and work themselves out of a slump.
Pola Joey Gallo. He could never be what he really

(15:38):
truly should be and is capable of under those bright lights.
All right. Be sure to catch live editions of The
Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker weekdays at
seven pm Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
and the iHeartRadio app. My Last, My Everything, My Milkshake

(15:58):
bings all the boys to the does the like It's
Better than Yours, Funky Fresh Friday Cavino Rich and for
the Odd Couple, and believe you me for everything Rich
and I have in common were the exact opposite true
drunk or high? Yes? Please? Yeah? Probably? Then on It's

(16:23):
Friday Night, Friday, Right, It's Friday Caveno and Rich. We're
at Covino and Rich on social media at Steve Cavino
follow me. It matters nowadays. Yeah, let's be friends. Rich
Davis responsibly, of course, drunk or high? I asked you before,
have you ever got drunk or high and made a
really good decision? By the way, you know, like if

(16:46):
you ever hit the voice message button on your phone
to text somebody? Oh, and then you don't realize you
did it, and you have like all all of that
just recorded and it was about to send. It's like,
have you ever got drunk or high? Need a really
good decision? And I was all documented on my phone?
Just now, go ahead continue. I don't want to send that.

(17:08):
Don't people get the wrong idea out of context? Are
you texting? It's just one of our listeners. So drunk
or high decisions, let's be honest, are rarely good ones. Right.
It's like the old phrase that what nothing good happens
after two or three in the morning, You're very rarely
going to make the greatest decision if you're drunk or high. However,

(17:32):
rams quarterback Sean mcvayh have you guys heard the story yet?
It broke a little while back, a couple days ago,
I think right. In a recent interview with Seth Wickersham,
Sean McVay recalls the time he sat down with Rams
quarterback Matthew Stafford on vacation. Now this is before Stafford

(17:54):
is the Rams quarterback. I know a similar story to
this in sports they talk football over drinks pool side
on vacation. At the time, Stafford was a great quarterback
wasting away in Detroit. That's how we all viewed him, right, like, yoh,
he's got skills. I wonder what it would be like
if he was on a well coached team with a
lot of talent. McVeigh, in his drunken stupor, felt the

(18:18):
same thing. So drunk mcveigh' is like, car, I'll you're
right back. He goes to his hotel and he facetimes
the Rams front office and he goes, here's the F
and deal. Okay. We could sit here and exist and
be okay with winning nine to eleven games and losing
in the f and divisional round and feel like, oh,

(18:40):
everything's okay. Or we can let our mother and blanks
hang and go trade for this f and quarterback and
give ourselves a real chance to go win an f
and world championship. Are you ready to f and dude
or what? This is liquid courage working its magic. And
sure enough, within days the trade went down. And the

(19:04):
urban legend, which is a true story, is that Sean McVeigh,
drunkenly was hanging with Matthew Stafford on vacation was like,
I want you man, hold on. I'm gonna go make
a FaceTime to the Rams front office. So it might
be the one time and one time only I could
think of a great decision. A similar story that was
recently told. If you're watching The Captain and other Yankee documentaries,

(19:28):
I'm Captain. No, no, no, this is true. A Rod
was supposed to go well, there was speculation to the Mats,
but there was a deal really close to him going
to the Red Sox Socks. I remember that I thought
it was gonna happen, and there was some sort of convention.
Well it fell apart, but there was some sort of
convention where Brian Cashman and a Rod were at the

(19:51):
event together and Brian Cashman jokingly sent to him, Hey,
you know, I'm sorry to hear about what happened. You know,
you guys Boston if you're willing to play third base,
we'll take you right later on at this banquet. Later
on at the banquet, a Rod sipping back. There's a
Rod got that liquid, same thing. Hey, if you're serious

(20:13):
about that, I would play third base. And you know,
Cashman did a few drinks in He's like, wait, you
would you would play third base? Right? Yeah, A Rod said.
I think it was like if if, if Jeter's okay
with us, because there was some beef there at the time, remember,
because they were talking smack. They used to be best friends,
I think, and then they were both and they were
both shirt let's once list. But then he talked smack

(20:34):
about him in Esquire or something like that. But the
story goes that what started as a joke, like a
little nudge, like, hey, because he thought in a million
years that A Rod would never switch to third After
a few drinks, a Rod's like, well, if you're serious
about it, Cashman, he's they're boozing. They're like, all right,
let's let's see if this could work. So that happened.
They were rare. It's rare in life and in sports

(20:57):
where the drunk or so you're making a terrible best
man speed. It's like Steve Bushemi and the wedding. So
I have a better man that's usually obviously ends up
in he usually ends up in embarrassing. If you can
think of a great decision you've made drunk or high
that had the payoff of a Sean McVeigh or Brian
cash I'm sure you've probably ended some squabble like in
your family, like like your mom's not talking your uncle

(21:17):
Bart because of some stupid family were like tipsy and
the come on uncle Bart, let's come on. Less ends
a squabble. You guys haven't talked in ten years. Maybe
it happened over some Hennis ears, you know what? You
know what? Requester usually made during like drunk or high moments,

(21:38):
not not good ones like Cashman or mcveigh's usually like, hey, honey,
I think we should bring like another woman. What do
you think? No? No, no, no, But it's usually dumb
fool and you say something dumb. Yeah. But you can
see the liquid courage does work. It's magic sometimes because
you're saying something, you're you're you're in the moment. You

(22:01):
wouldn't have probably said it or thought it, otherwise you
wouldn't have had the cojones to make that happen. You
know where I bet this happens once in a while,
men or women in the business world where they're at
a I mean, the art is created the magic of
these moments. Of course, yeah, music is created under these influences.
But I'm saying in maybe the sales world, but those

(22:22):
can be considered great decisions. Some man or woman might say, Man,
I'm really hesitant to talk to that company about their
account management or something. A couple of cocktails in at
a conference, maybe you get that courage. I'm not telling
everyone go out and drink and do extracurriculars and make
business choices, but on that rare occasion, it's a great story.

(22:43):
On that rare occasion, it works. Whether it's Sean McVay,
like you said on Jeter's documentary The Brian Cashman, a
rod story. Once in a while, that liquid courage works.
And speaking of which, in about a half hour that
starts here. Yeah Sports Radio has the best sports talk

(23:25):
interactions along the way. We talked to coaches, we talked

All Ball with Doug Gotlieb on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
or ever you get your podcast. Steve, I have so
many I have so many thoughts. Let's let's roll with
a field you said. Tatis Junior said it was a

(23:48):
topical ointment for ringworm, that is the performance enhancing red flag,
right that it was in that. But he's not gonna
dispute it. Wouldn't that be something you would want to
the speed of year. Let's say a guy that suspended
eighty games, like, isn't that hey, it was in my
ringworm like lotion. I mean, I guess he's realized, Hey,

(24:08):
I just made a mistake that I can't take back. Well,
but you're responsible as an athlete for what you take,
which is why you have a union. So you can
go through their clearing house and say is this okay
to take? Because he's admitting, Yeah, well, no, I was
gonna say, there's no real reason to appeal anything, because
if you can't, if you're not going to appeal for that,
then you're really never going to appeal. Right now, what's
he gonna appeal? Say? Yeah, I took it well and

(24:32):
he'd be accurate. But how do you feel about Aaron Rodgers,
who you know, last week said there's no benefit of
even playing one series in the preseason, and a guy
like Zach Wilson hobbled off today for the Jets, Like
do you feel like there's a layer of a level
of like it's like Zach Wilson's still trying to prove himself.
Like do you absolutely that's the first sentence that's actually
included Zach Wilson and Aaron Rodgers. I know. So, I mean, like,

(24:54):
if you have any cloud, don't play. But I mean
this guy's like, you know, Trey Lance had to take
snaps tonight. You know, Jordan loves guy play tonight, like
otherwise when are you going to see him? And Deshaun
Watson had to take snaps exactly. Yeah, for Aaron Rodgers,
not too okay. I understand it's been ten to fifteen
years exactly. We get it. And then Tom Brady's like
hanging with his family until the season starts, so like, yeah,
if you're missing, he's gonna miss next weekend's game. Yeah.

(25:18):
And one last thing, the vaccination status. If you were
vaccinated and you know, did the quote right? Thing like
a year or so ago, I've are they assuming everyone
keeps getting boosters and revaccine and revaccine because I feel
like most people I know originally got vaccinated and then
they're like, yeah, I haven't done anything since. Is that?
Are they holding athletes to the booster every month or so?

(25:39):
Is that sort of where like Paul and me would
have to be No, not that I've heard. And this
was a YES Network vaccine. Yeah, I know. Yeah, he
was kept out of the YES booth because of that. Yeah,
that's an awkward situation for Paul O'Neal. I think it's
an awkward conversation too, because I think even people that
were vaccinated, I'm not sure and most of them were like, yeah,
I got I'm a Paul O'Neal fan, and I really am.

(26:00):
And you know, he's one of those underrated guys and
I feel like he's sort of getting in the way
of his own moment here or this is the situation
in itself is just tarnishing his own moment where he
could have got some glory that he deserved. Well in
the Dodger booth, we haven't seen orl Hirscheiser in all
the games, and sometimes they've kept him back from road
trips to keep him in the studio. We assume that's
the same reason. Man, You know what, he should probably

(26:22):
ask Antonio Brown where he got his fake Vex Clark
a couple of years ago, and then yet are you
going all time? Well, when Maryfield got traded to Toronto,
he needed to cross the border, he got it. I know, Hey,
Antonio Brown, Yeah, who's this? It's Paul O'Neal. Had a
question for you, Thank you, Thank you. Steve the Seger,
I have a dumb question. And he was talking about

(26:43):
Gonslin's thirteen and one. Gonslin also has a mean mullet, which,
by the way, I feel like older generations invented. So
how out of the question is it for an older
person now to get what appears to be a younger
person's haircut, when an older person in fact are the
inventors of the mullets, because I'll tell you what, I'm

(27:06):
not in the business of an actual mullet. I'm in
the business of have you seen guys like like if
Patrick Mahomes, like Pat Mahomes or guys like yeah, my, uh,
have you seen my mullet? It's not really a mount
it's like a little taper but like it comes around
and uh, it's kind of like you know, Aaron Judge
has the same thing. Hey, it's like a taper to
it has one. A lot of Latino players have that

(27:26):
sort of sort of taper like the Pat Mahomes. You're right,
is it so out of question for you know, by
no means do I think of myself as an old man.
I get what you're saying. If you if you're if
you want that younger guy haircut, if you're it's a
little thicker in the bad if you're like late thirties
forties and you rock the mullet first time around in
the nineties, are you can you can you bring it

(27:47):
back with young fans? Oh, young guy, can't be like yo,
that's our look when it's like, no, it's not. I
had that me in the eighties nineties. What are you
talking about. So if you had a mullet in the nineties,
see what hold on? I do want a different differentiat.
There's like two kinds of mullets going on. One's a
straight up we're not talking to theo Van comedian, right,

(28:07):
one's a mullet but and Gonslin kind of has a mullet.
And then one's like a like a taper mullet where
it's like thicker in the back of your fade like
the arrand Judge Like, I kind of want that, And
am I I'm thinking? Am I? Like? Am I the
older guy trying to get a young guy's haircut? Or
can I still rock that? You know? Why you ask
your daughter? Or if you're not talking to you? That's

(28:28):
sort of a low key l move to get a
young guys haircut. You know, Rob, what do you think
about that? Man? Because you're a guy to cut your
own hair. So so am I and we got it.
That's very ridiculous about being meticulous when it comes to
my my tight fade. You know what I say, whatever
floats your boat, just roll with it. There was a
long time where Alex had hair down to his mid

(28:50):
back Alexe tight shirt. He had a Fabio and were
you a w W E wrestler. I could have been Eric.
I was his brother. What you had long like like
he had a man picture. Did you go to the
barber and say give me the jake to Snake Roberts.
I just walked around and said, I can't believe it's
not butter. That's what I was doing. I gotta see that.

(29:11):
I got You're an in shape guy with your shirt off.
People must have thought you were a Fabio family member.
I couldn't get away without my shirt off. It was bad.
I wait a second. And by the way, I saw
Alex at the gym. I did you know? Did I?
So we bumped into each other at the gym. Rich,
I didn't even tell you this. I bumped him to
him and Ethan right, he was probably doing a real
workout and you were on the Olympical doing a bunny boy.
I was like, I was like, yeah, I was doing

(29:32):
my peee Herman work out and I saw this ripped
dude walk by. I'm like that, Oh wait, that's Alex.
I can't imagine you with that flow. It was bad. Yeah,
oh wow, So so Rob You're you're sticking with like
it doesn't matter. No, Like, like I personally I hate
the Mahomes haircut and my nephew has it, So what
am I going to say to him? Like, hey, you

(29:53):
know what a little kid, you know cut that off?
But can you have that? And you're not an old guy?
The question is can you have that? I know you're saying.
I know he said like a guy even know you
had that. If you're not twenty something, if you're thirty
forty something year old guy, you're not gonna wear it.
Maybe the clothing a younger person would wear. You're saying,
does that extent a haircut? Like can a could a
thirty eight year old guy? Rock? I think that's short

(30:15):
of I kind of want to go to the barber
tomorrow and say give me the glabor torres. You know,
that's kind and I you know, and if he's like,
what do you mean, I'm like, I'll show him a
picture like that. And I'm not really gonna do that,
but that's kind of what I want to do. And
I'm like, well, I don't want to be, you know,
too old for the mullet, even though wait a second,
that's from our generation in earlier, you know, how how

(30:36):
could we not be getting in well, so it's a
weird Gonslin sort of thought than I had. And it's
also I thought you never thought a couple of years
ago you would ever have should I get him all again?
I think I'm gonna leave the back a little bite.
See it, sports, you it has an influence on you all. Hey,
the Mets score in the bottom of the eighth. Let
me check here. One one Phillies, Mets going to the ninth.

(30:56):
A lot of people think Philly is the supreme teeth.
Hernandez doesn't. Oh yeah, Keith Hernandez is not like Philly.
Maybe we'll talk about that to end the show next.
But Philly a team that is very much in the
playoff mix in the National League, playing hot baseball right now,
Mets Phillies tied at one, Yankees up by one over
the Red Sox, close baseball games, and of course preseason
football going on. It's Friday night, coming on rich In

(31:18):
for The Odd Couple here on Fox Sports Radio. Be
sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple with
Chris Broussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm Eastern
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio
app All right, Camino and rich In for the odd couple.
I think I gotta tell you about auto zone one
more time. How AutoZone three services you need to help

(31:43):
you get back on the road like they're free AutoZone
fix Spinder service, free, free, perfect because I got Paiden meatballs.
This is great, continue good. With over fifty six hundred
locations nationwide, AutoZone is here to help you save time
and money with their free services. Get the job done,
got easier restrictions apply getting the zone auto Zone, by

(32:04):
the way you get you get paid in meatballs like
the old lady paid uh Robbie Harden. Every once in
a while the buss does me to stick a gum too,
So I want to see you eat them. Yeah, man,
I'll tell you what. Marte just tried to score, I know,
on a line drive off the bat of Vogel back
on the Mets, and I thought it was vogel Bok.
Vogel Bok. Let me tell you. I guess you had

(32:28):
to send them. He didn't have to. It wasn't deep enough. Yeah,
he was a dead duck, he was. It was a
line drive to the left fid way. I meant to
say duck when I'm texting, I usually don't mean duck.
It was a line drive to left field. But as
you know, you know, we all played outfield in high
school or college. You're the momentum in which you're going

(32:49):
is a big factor. And the left fielder was coming
in on the ball, so he already had like a
crow hop in his step. Yeah, so you knew even
though Marte's got speed, starling Marte dead duck at home
plate and it goes to extras. Now it wasn't quick,
goes to extras and queens, but hey, the Mets took
a chance one one, a good battle and uh, a

(33:11):
lot of a lot of good stuff in sports today
called a couple you know, stories that weren't great. Fernando
Tattoos junior eighty game suspension to Shaun Watson disingenuous apology.
So that's the highlights of today. Zach Wilson hurt. Yeah,
Zach Wilson hurt. That makes you think about again, how
important is the preseason. It is some people gotta get

(33:31):
their snaps. Rob, you're a Dodgers fan, right, You're a
Dodgers guy. Not really, I don't like baseball, man, are
you're not a baseball guy. No, man, we must have
board the hell out of you talking about to feel
the dreams game at bit. Is that why Rob went
to I'll play a local next, I'll be back in
twenty minutes. Is that why he was drooling on himself
before I thought he was sleeping? Idn't I heard Gonslin's

(33:52):
pitching a perfect game in the sixth also right now?
So then promptly got broken up as soon as you
mentioned no longer a perfect game. Yes, wow, well either,
bad luck guy. You know what I feel like a
lot of times I try to avoid Wait, if I'm
not watching the game and I'm like, oh, fifth inning,
no hits, I'm like, I'll keep watching my phone, and

(34:13):
the minute I turned the TV on without fail, I
feel like the no hitter is broken up because if
you have MLB, if you got you know, extra innings,
you'll get the update once while like, oh, someone's pitching
and no hitter through and I'm like every time, every
time it happens. So hey, if you had fun with
us tonight, hang out with us on Fox Sports Sunday.
Just want to throw that out there. I do want

(34:34):
to say thanks to the Odd Couple for letting us
fill in. And thanks to the Odd Couple team and
Rob and Tie Shirt and the Sager and everyone hanging
out with us on this Friday again were Cavino and
Rich had a lot of fun Tonight Cavino and Rich
on Patreon if you dig our show, and I do
want to give another shart out, Rich, can you say
that to my guy Lopez? I said, shout out, Wow,

(34:56):
Timo Lopez fighting tomorrow night. Remember he was all about
to takeover. Well now he's about to take back. He's
trying to get back his belts, but it's to take back,
take back, the takeover, takeover because he's he's stepping up
and wait to one forty fighting Pedro complain, I'll back
you up on something. You're the big fight guy. So

(35:17):
there's plenty of listeners that are like, yeah, I'm big
boxing UFC guy like Cavino, but the guys that aren't,
I'll back Camino up that tia Fimo Lopez, he's the guy.
Was was great and it is great. I love the guy.
He Lomachenko and was on the top of his game
and then he lost his next fight, which was like
a momentum killer. It was Cambosas fought a great fight,

(35:38):
but remember he was playing with Aaron is lung. Doctor
said he could have died. He had an actual reason.
So he's moving up and wait to one forty fighting
Avato Loco forever. I'm just saying, when you know it's
gonna be a good this is part of his comeback
take back to say. I'm just saying, when you win
a big fight, yeah, and then you'll lose the next
one moment. It's deflating. It's what I'm killing. It's sort

(36:00):
of like when Anthony Joshua lost a couple of fights,
like a couple of fights at the wrong time, Brandy Ruise,
but then he lost another fighter, didn't you say, also
beat him. Yeah. Now they're fighting again. Man, they're fighting again. Um.
Everything you'll get from Kevin on Rich from football to
baseball to fight to uh what else? You know? Else's

(36:25):
fight your mind's weekend. I think Adrian Browner's fighting like
a low key fight, like trying to come back. Either way.
I enjoy your fights, enjoy your games. Hope all your
teams win. You can find us again at Covino and
Rich social media. You caught up on better call Saul, dude,
so good and so caught up and I'm caught up
on the Borchlorette. I'm sorry the Bachelorette. It's boring. This

(36:46):
hip is the most boring season yet. You know when
you shouldn't know what you don't watch alone on on
as our guy Danny g. You know you don't know
what you don't watch that's really good. You don't watch
only murders in the building, nothing some good Steve Martin,
Martin short, I'm good, Selena Gomez good. Hey, whatever you're
watch and enjoy it this weekend, all right, Hey at

(37:07):
Covin on Rich and we'll see you guys Sunday night.
Until then, all ribadrety baby, see you in the Promised Land.
