Speaker 2 (00:22):
You're listening to the Best of the Odd Couple with
Chris Bruce and Ron Parker.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Last night, a lot of great things going on Golden State.
I mean, just when you thought they were done, and
they still may very well be, but they put on
a great effort last night beat the Boston Celtics that
many people have favored.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
So at least when the Eastern Conference champ, that's.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
Me, that's me. I'm in that group.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Yeah, a lot of people like them, and with good reason.
They look great.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
But Golden State took them out yesterday in overtime and
Steph Curry led the way thirty three points, was fantastic,
hit the huge shot in overtime.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
To kind of seal the victory with twelve seconds left,
and he was so good rob that he sparked.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
A huge discussion because Shaquille O'Neill was just throwing out
the accolades after the game on tn T, which it
was televised on T and T, And here's shot on
inside the NBA.

Speaker 6 (01:32):
I'm wondering, not saying, I'm just wondering because he's been
consistently the best shooter his whole career. I'm wondering at
the time to start putting him as the best player
of all time? Best player?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (01:45):
You put him over you in I'm asking you, yest
over here, you yourself Betteth Curry over ends. Yeah, that
this way is my favorite player. I'm not saying favorite.
He might be my favorite too. I'm just as you think.
I played twenty years watch twenty years before that. I've
never seen a guy like him, and he's doing it
consistently and he has championships. No, no, I'm not putting

(02:08):
him aywhere. I'm saying, you know, for all the child,
is it time to just put him in the contation.

Speaker 6 (02:12):
I think he's a I'm asking the fans, is it
time to, you know, start putting him in the conversation
as one of the best players ever?

Speaker 4 (02:21):
All right, you heard it.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
I mean that's Shaquille O'Neill, one of the best players ever,
and he asked, Rob, is it time to put Steph
Curry in the goat discussion?

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Your thoughts preposterous, ridiculous, typical prisoner of the moment, Uh,
former athlete throwing something up against the wall. And that's
no disrespect to Steph and his resume and what he's done.
But Chris, off of a regular season game, Uh, for

(02:55):
Shaq to throw that out because they beat Boston on
a Tuesday night in December, as some crowning moment, that
something happened last night that we never saw that that's
the time to put him into conversation. I just think
it's preposterous. I think it's It.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Tells you how little thought.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
That some people will give, even the guy who's played
the game and has done as much as Shaq.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
Has done, to these statements. This is what we talk
about all the time.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
I love Kenny Smith that he right away put Shack
on the spot.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
Is he better than you? Is he better than Michael?
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Because when you make a statement like that, it just
it just doesn't make sense to me. Off of what
what happened last night, Chris, that we haven't seen in
Steph's career, that last night.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
That was the conversation.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Do you understand we talk about all the time when
we do our show, we always ask ourselves, why are
we talking about it today?

Speaker 5 (04:00):
Right?

Speaker 1 (04:01):
That matters, Chris, Right, we do it all the time.
Why are we talking about it today? If it doesn't
matter for what's happened today, then we shouldn't talk about it.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Yeah, I mean, look, it could have happened after Steph's
last In fact, Rob it did happen.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Not this shock is the first to go this far.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Like when after Steph won is fourth championship, I said
he's a top ten player of all time.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
That's a totally different conversation, right, And that's fair, Chris,
based on he had just won the four championship, so
it was based on him doing something to add to
his resume.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Correct, right, But even I mean, I think, what may
I agree with you is kind of like, Okay, yeah,
he was phenomenal last night, but it was just a
regular season game and obviously he's had plenty of those.
And you know, okay, so they beat the Boston Celtics. Okay,
big woo on a Tuesday night. You're one of the

(05:01):
greatest ever. But the fact Robe regardless of the time.
If right the day after they won their four championship,
if Shaq had said what he said last night, I
think he's still would get pushed back. And you know,
obviously I love Steph. I think he is the best

(05:24):
small player, the best below the rim player ever. And
I will say this, I hadn't really thought of it
this way, but I was talking with Nick right about
it off the air, doing first things first today and
he said he gotta threw it out their best player
six under six six ever, right, And I thought about it,

(05:45):
and yes, I think that's absolute. He is the best
player ever under six to six, Kobe, Michael Lebron, all
those guys were six six or taller, And so I
I think that. But Rob as greate as step Is,
four championships, widely regarded as the best shooter ever, the

(06:11):
orchestrator of one of the best dynasties ever, absolutely positively
changed the game of basketball, like it it is played
differently now because of him.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
All of that. True.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
No, he is not in the goat conversation, and Rob
Kenny Smith said last night the goat conversation is limited
to three people, Jordan Lebron and Coreem.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
I agree with him. Somebody wants to.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Throw Magic in. I've heard some people throw out arguments
for Magic.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
I got him as the fourth best ever.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
I wouldn't put him into goat conversation, but I guess
you know, if somebody wanted to say he could play
every position and dominate at all five spots, I mean,
he can have that discussion. But I generally agree with
Kenny Smith is limited to three and STEP's not one
of them.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
I'm with you, and I just I mean, you know,
as greate as STEP's resume is, there's some other spots
there too that.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
That up. There are some blemishes. This is the three
to one choke job with the Warriors.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
That's on there hasn't made a shot to put his
team ahead or win the game in the postseason, Chris
with twenty seconds or left to go zero for ten
or eleven or whatever it is. There's some other things,
and that's just nitpicking when you're talking about the greatest
of all time. I just don't think that that's a
conversation that he's in. And maybe you would agree that

(07:51):
with that statement. I made best player ever under sixty six.
I have to say, Thomas, Yeah, you know, I'm in
Isaiah Guy and and Isaiah during during the time when
he played, and him beating Bird, and him beating Magic
and Michael, like, like what he was able to do
without another top fifty all time great player is a

(08:13):
pretty amazing accomplishment in that NBA.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
It's hard for me to look past Isaiah and I.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Get the Thomas over at Steph Curry.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Yeah, I'm just talking about because I look at everything.
I don't look at just making threes. I look at
Steph make threes, being able to win the performances he
put in, beating three of the greatest players, like during
that era, during that time without without the people were
talking about the help and Lebron needs help and and

(08:45):
Durant needs help and had to go get help, and
Steph needed to go get Durant to win to beat
Lebron and and.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
All that beat Lebron without Durant.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
No, but I'm just saying, but but after they after
they lost three to one, they went and got him
to win the next two championships. That's all on another
one without during right, But he won those two. But
there's a big difference between the two that he won.
Chris and if he has four, that would you agree
with that?

Speaker 4 (09:10):
But he got four?

Speaker 3 (09:11):
But is it a different He w two without the
help I get it in He won two without another top.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Fifty teammate, which is what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
No, ifact he won two without another top seventy five teammate.
Isaiah had two top seventy five players on his championship teams.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Yeah, no, I'm talking about I mean, if that was
your argument, no, because if it wasn't he didn't play
when he was could be it. He didn't have anybody
in the top fifty because there was nobody who could
be put on that list at that time.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
What are you're talking about now?

Speaker 5 (09:43):
The top fifty list? He wasn't playing.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Who are you talking about, Isaiah or Steph?

Speaker 5 (09:47):
No, I'm talking about stuff you're saying.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
He didn't have a top seventy five right, fifties less
than seventy five?

Speaker 5 (09:56):
Would you agree with?

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Right?

Speaker 3 (09:57):
But but my point is right? But no, But Steph,
Isaiah won two championships. They he had on each of
those championship teams, he had a top two top or
a top seventy five teammate and Dennis Rodman.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
He didn't have a top fifty. He didn't have a
top No. But okay, but neither did Steph. Steph won
two championships without a top fifty.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
There wasn't It wasn't possible because there was That's what
he got saying. But Steph didn't even have a top
seventy five.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Yeah, but here's my thing. It's not a top seventy five.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
It's a top twenty five of his era because they
are twenty.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
No is a top seventy five cent top seventy five.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
Those guys on his team couldn't be in the top fifty.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
So they could be in the top seventy five.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
They could be added to the twenty five. He had
none of them that were acted. That's fine, But I'm
saying the difference between Steph, you just try, two championships
compared to four, put you on a different place. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
I'm not gonna punish him because Kevin Durant was on
his team.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
No, I'm just saying that. For some people they look
at it and say.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
I don't call any I don't know, there's hardly any
I'd be surprised if anybody right now has Isaiah Thomas
ahead of Steph Kirby, I do you, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
Well I do, and Isaiah.

Speaker 2 (11:09):

Speaker 9 (11:51):
Rob Parker's longtime nemesis RG three Robert Griffin third with
the latest athletes to respond to the Rashard Mendenhall racial
Pro Bowl Draft with a viral video.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
Take a listen.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
You don't want to go back to the old times.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
I don't want to participate in the segregation ball probably
wouldn't even get a shot because Patrick Mahomes would be
the quarterback of our team.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yes, he would be on our team.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
And by our team, I mean the All Blacks, because
I know a lot of y'all liked the joke about
what team I'm on because of this guy.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
This guy it was talking about me, Chris, I was.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
In the way y'all, yeah, all in the videos, and
I guess that was something that happened. Money moves, go
ahead and explain it, because I was about to explain it.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
If you explained it, you want to try a short change.
I'm not how long ago was it?

Speaker 5 (12:38):
Twenty twelve?

Speaker 3 (12:39):
I remember, like well, and basically you're on first take
was debating Skip Bayless.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Yes, and you he was a star at that time
for the RG three.

Speaker 5 (12:49):
That was his rookie.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:50):
Yeah, it was just stars.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Where you're washing your redskins at that time, and you
called him a cornball brother.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
You said the word.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Correct me if I'm wrong, I want mistake. But basically
the word around DC was that he was a corn baller.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
I said, the conversation in the barbershop would be that
he's a cornball brother. Okay, But so I was in
this video and Chris, I think it's time for me
and RG three to bury the hatchet.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
RG three.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
This is an open letter to you I'm extending my
arms to you. I'm telling you that the time has
come for me and you to hug it out.

Speaker 5 (13:34):
Chris will be there with us.

Speaker 7 (13:36):
You know.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
You come do the Odd Couple. We'll talk about it,
we'll have a dialogue. You're a television personality. Now you
can hold your own you know, we could have a conversation.
I still do remember in a magazine article after that
all happened, you back me, didn't think it was the
end of the world, or I should have not had
my contract with you that ESPN over it, which he's saying, Yeah,

(13:59):
that's what he's say that he disagreed with me, but
he didn't think it was the end of the world.
But I think the time has come. It's been but
eleven years, something like that night twenty twelve. Eleven years there,
RG three, Come onto the Odd Couple, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
We'll talk about.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Your new television career, TV personality, and me and you
will extend arms around each other and we'll hug it
out and we'll just go on from here.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
Well that's nice.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
I mean, I guess it starts with you saying he's
not a courtn ball brother.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
Is that fair?

Speaker 1 (14:40):
I mean, if you're not gonna apologize for that, I mean,
what's what's the conversation?

Speaker 5 (14:46):
This not apology and said we had a difference of opinion.
That's all it was.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
You insulted him and he's mad about it.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app this week.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Earlier this week Monday. Was it Monday or was it
last Monday? I don't know how long it's been now,
but Brandon Staley finally FIYEA was last last Monday.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
Fired by the LA Chargers.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
They are one of the more talented teams in the
league and one of the most disappointing teams in the league.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Five and nine will not make the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
I didn't pick them to make the playoffs because I
thought that they were poorly coached, and that turned out
to be right. And now Rob, everybody's wondering who's going
to be the next coach? And Rob g there a
lot of reports out there. Why don't you fill us
in what's going on out there?

Speaker 5 (15:48):
Sure?

Speaker 9 (15:49):
So earlier this week, the Spanos were addressing the hiring situation,
and they said that they would be willing to come
out of pocket in a big way if it may
getting the right guy in Los Angeles to coach Justin
Herbert and the Chargers. So obviously it's been a talking
point across all of sports media. On the latest edition
of the New Heights podcast, Travis Kelcey addressed the idea

(16:09):
of Bill Belichick coming to the Chargers and he shot
it down quickly, saying that he doesn't want a good
coach to come into his division. Get the f out
of here. I hope they hire some Gabbroni man like.
He doesn't want to see Bill Belichick there. And coincidentally,
later on Wednesday afternoon, Bleacher Reports Jordan Schultz reported that

(16:31):
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has interest in the Chargers
head coaching job, but not sure right now. Quote if
the feeling is mutual, so you're.

Speaker 5 (16:43):
Looking for an NFL job too. Another investigation from the
NCAA ry Michigan, right right.

Speaker 4 (16:51):
It's really interesting, rob.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Both of these guys obviously good coaches of the two
and look, the problem to me or a big part
of the problem with the Chargers is the way they're run,
and we know the owner's son is heavily involved, and
you know, is he going to see power? Will Belichick want,
you know, to run the whole show? Harball could want

(17:16):
that too.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
Remember Harball left San Francisco, Rob, they were wildly successful,
and he left because he had issues with.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
The front office.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
They had the disputes, and so both of these guys
may may want power. I think Harball definitely would, and
people might be surprised that I think Belichick might not,
just because.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
In New England, Rob, I don't see any way Bill
Belichick settles just for coaching.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
Right.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
You've heard people say, well, you know, this off season,
I would try to get him to give up the
GM in front office duties and just coach. I even
think that could be the way they approach it. But
he won't accept I can't imagine he'd accept that.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
But in another organization maybe he will.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
You know, it's harder sometimes to accept a quote unquote
demotion in your own place, which he built into a dynasty,
Whereas if he goes somewhere else, maybe he's fine with
just coaching. But putting all that aside. Just looking at
these two guys, which one If I'm the Chargers, which

(18:24):
coach would I rather have? Again, both of them very good,
both of them have been successful. But I'm gonna say Belichick.
And I've got my questions about Belichick and some doubts.
But the thing I know about Belichick. If I'm the
Chargers Rob and I bring him in, one thing I

(18:44):
definitely know is my defense is going to be good.
My defense will turn around pretty much immediately.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
He's a great defensive mind. He showed that.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Throughout his career, even before he was a head coach,
and so I'd have full confidence in that. And then
I'd be like, look, i've got Justin Herbert, he's a
great quarterback. I think offensively we'll be able to figure
it out. And so I would look at Belichick. I

(19:17):
get that hardball's great with quarterbacks, so there's something there.
But I think their defense is a huge need. And
I think Belichick would answer.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
That, Yeah, I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
I think that it sounds like it would be perfect
because you already have a quarterback and Justin Herbert, you know,
you just need somebody not have a Matt Patricia calling plays.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
Well, that's the thing, Matt Patricia.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
But but he can play. But the defense, you just
got to get that defense fixed. You got playmakers there.
So so Belichick, that makes sense. It sounds logical, and
you make it or your massage it, Chris, so that
people don't so that, Bill Belichick, like we want you know,

(20:02):
we want your input on whatever. But we're gonna have
this guy here, this guy here, Bill Jones is a.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
Smart guy, football guy. This is his background.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
He's gonna be working with you want to selection of players,
and do you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (20:15):
Like yeah, like you like.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
I said, right, he might, you know, I mean, I'm
sure he wants to catch Shuler in all time wins.
He needs, like I don't know how many is at
this point, about thirteen or four, about fourteen or fifteen
wins maybe, And obviously he'd love to win another Super Bowl,
So maybe he'd be willing to just focus on that. Right,
They already have some talent, you know what I mean.

(20:38):
So it's the cover's not bear. It's not like he has.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
To build them into, you know, a talented team.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
And Chris, here's the other thing. You're right, And here's
the other thing. He wants Shuler's record. He has to
go somewhere where they're gonna be winning, and you know,
can't it can't do a rebuild for three years and
and win four games a year and and then still
be short. And now he's seventy five or whatever, he is,
like like, seriously, there's gotta be some selfishness there where

(21:07):
You're like, where's the place I can go and win
right away if I get that defense fixed, you know
what I mean?

Speaker 5 (21:13):
Yeah, yeah, And.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
If you're trying to do that, you got to think
in those terms at that age.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Yeah, he'll be seventy two in April, robe and so
you're right, like he he needs to win pronto. And look,
we talked about Kellen Moore, Uh he's the OC for
the Chargers, and we talked about, you know, be willing
to keep it. And that's the thing, like, like, i mean,

(21:41):
we talked about a few weeks ago, and I'm thinking, well,
you definitely want to keep Kellen Moore. But justin Herbert
and I'm not saying it's all Kellen Moore, I don't know,
but he's taking a step back this year in every way.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
He's taking a step back, which I totally.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Agree to me. He dropped to a second tier quarterback.
Oh yeah, no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
So you know, again, I don't want Patricia Bill O'Brien,
who's been good historically, but he hasn't you know, he
hasn't done anything in New England this year. I don't
know that'd be interesting. You know, I wouldn't be a pope.
I kind of might want to keep Kellen Moore, but

(22:26):
it would be up to Belichick. It's his staff. I'll
say this, Rob. While I would prefer Belichick with the
Chargers because of the defense. If I'm Belichick, I think Buffalo,
assuming Seohn McDermott is gone, and maybe he won't be,
but I really like Buffalo for Belichick. Now again in

(22:51):
New England, I mean, it had to essentially be a
trade or something, so I don't see them doing that.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
But if it could happen.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
Again, improve that defense, robe and you've got a great quarterback,
and I think they could be very good. They're already
very good, but they could really be a contender right
away with Belichick.

Speaker 5 (23:15):
Buffalo.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Yeah, you would think so if I'm Buffalo, though, well,
if I'm New England, I'm not.

Speaker 5 (23:22):
Sure I want him to go to Buffalo, right, do
you know what I mean, I'm.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
Sure I don't.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
Yeah, So I just got to see him every year
year in the division.

Speaker 5 (23:32):
Like send them to the West Coast. That's all good,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Like, Yeah, I'm.

Speaker 5 (23:37):
Not so sure that's the spot that's gonna wind up.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting, Rob, It really is going
to be interesting to see where he ends up.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
Would you have problems with Harball with the Chargers.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
It's not problems. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
He's been really good with quarterbacks as we know, the
NFL just.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
Hasn't won the big one you want, trying to win
a super Bowl eventually, and Jim Hall that's his only
Bugga ball. I mean, he's taking teams and they've turned around,
they've been good. Chris like, he just can't get them
to that to win one. I he went to the
Super Bowl with the forty nine Ers. They win a
couple three NFC championship games. They went to the Super

(24:15):
Bowl one they lost. He lost to his brother right
Baltimore one when the lights went out and all that.
So it's just it's Hulball would be a good second choice.
But I think if I'm really, if I'm really, the
Chargers who are trying to build a fan base, trying
to win, got a quarterback in place, got some playmakers,

(24:36):
like this thing is gonna come apart, come undone soon,
Chris in the next year or so, and you don't
have time to waste. It's gotta be somebody of that
ilk who can you know, come in and make the
necessary adjustments. On paper, they're loaded. People were thinking about
them being in the mix in the AFC.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
And a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
Rob may be thinking, you know, go get a young
offensive mind.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
Mike McDaniel.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
Somebody liked that a Matt lafleur, and that's all well
and good, but there's no guarantee on those guys. They
thought they were getting that with Brandon Staley. I get
it that he was a defensive coach supposedly, but still right,
it was the hot young guy you know that is
unproven until he's proven, and so you always take a risk.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
With that, Rob, you know.

Speaker 5 (25:30):
And they can't do it anymore.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
They can't.

Speaker 5 (25:32):
Just didn't.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
They just did it. Not You can't break somebody else in.
You can't go another three years, No, you can't do it.
They are in a situation where they got to stop
being cheap, go out, make the move, do what you
gotta do to secure you a coach that has a
pedigree and that can get you to where you want.

(25:53):
And if you don't do it soon or enough, like
trying to win the fan base here, you already have
a hard time.

Speaker 5 (26:00):
Home games are are.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Dominated by the games. Oh yeah, a road game dominated
by the opponents fans. I mean, like that's a real
thing that you have to try to shake. Rob g
you had a common.

Speaker 9 (26:12):
Just a question for you, because you guys are saying
about the Chargers and you know there's a reason why
they're in on guys like Jim Harbor and Bill Belichick.
Could's considered to be a plumb job, primarily because of
the presidents of Justin Herbert. However, as of right now
of December twentieth, they are about forty million dollars over
the twenty twenty four cap. Now, we know the salary

(26:32):
cap is a myth. You can move things around, but
here's the tricky thing. Fifty eight percent of their twenty
twenty four salary cap is tied to Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa,
Mike Williams, and Keenan Allen. That's not factoring Austin Eckler,
Gerald Everett being free agents. So if you get there,

(26:53):
there's a chance that this star studded roster is not
the same next season. It's still that attractive with just
than Herbert and guys.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
Well, having the quarterback is huge, right because and we
talked about it last week, like that's the hardest thing
to get.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
So they do have that. I certainly Bosa, you know,
maybe he'd have to go. Eckler being a running back, maybe.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
He'd have to go.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
And I like Eckler a lot, but you know, I
think I can find a running back. I definitely want
to keep Keenan Allen. I really, I mean, I think
you know, we saw in New England. I get it
Mac Jones is not justin Herbert, but I think one
of the problems with mac Jones in New England was
that they didn't give him any weapons. And Belichick has

(27:44):
you know, that's been him throughout his career. He had
Brady who could play well with you know, guys that
weren't superstars for the bulk of his career.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
But I would want to keep Keenan.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
Mike Williams is great, but he's hurt all the time,
so I hear what you're saying, rob G. Like I said,
I think Buffalo is a little more ready made if
I'm Belichick, but I still think having a quarterback and
being a great defensive coach, those are two huge things,
and so I think they get that immediately if Belichick

(28:17):
goes there.
