Speaker 2 (00:24):
Let's give this part. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yes, and I enjoy it too, My goodness, gracious, Merry
Christmas and happy Holidays to everybody, to my family, to
the Parker family in New York, Merry Christmas to everybody.
I don't get to see the youngins anymore. They're all
doing their own thing, you know what I mean. I
got three nieces and a nephew there, big al No,

(00:52):
so they were very You know what I loved is
in Christmas and you know this with your family who
I know, but just to sponsor you get out of
I got a video from my nephew. Alviny has a son.
Tristan has two sons, and Tristan is you know, old
enough to enjoy the whole Christmas experience. He's like four

(01:12):
years old and they sent me a video of him
opening the present.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
I said, just the jay in his face. Oh man,
it's awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
It's awesome. But you know, for anybody who has kids
and you and you just went through that whole experience,
there is no greater joy, right than being you know,
the kids storming in your room, like at six am,
waking you up after the night before. You know, you've
been helping Sanna exactly. Santa's cookies are all right, and
the milk and everything.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
And then that's the other thing too, is like you know,
like some of the kids have come and my friends
have told you know, they tell me and and like
there is one of my buddies told me. Son came
into the room, you know, tapped him and said, I
think Santa was here.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
You know what I mean, right, you know, like get
out of bed, Get out of bed, I think Santa
was here.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Just go downstairs. Let's go, let's go, let's go.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
And they don't go down without asking, you know, don't
not go down, not touch anything, you know exactly, And
they got to come in and then it's a Christmas morning.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
And they always check used to check to see that
made sure that Santa ate the.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Cookie cook he's right, did he drink the milk?

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Oh, drink the milk. Yeah, all that, Yeah, all that.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Man, you know, no wonder he's put on some pals
with all the cookies in the milk.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
I mean, my goodness.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
All right, our number two of the odd couple on
this magic City Christmas Monday night. You know, we got
the magic, I mean, the heat and sixers are about
to tip off. We got another football game coming up.
The forty nine Ers are hosting the Ravens. Not in
San Francisco, in the place three hours from there, but

(02:41):
close to it.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Yeah, if you were playing pro sports, would you want
to play on Christmas Day now? But you're working here? Yeah,
I would that translate for you to have to play
a game.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
I mean, I think I think it's oversaturated now.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
At one point, it was really an honor because everybody
was home, because you know, us working in Detroit.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
For a long time, we did the thing day.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I worked every Thanksgiving and then it was a part
of the fabric of the city.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Right.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
People go to a Thanksgiving Day game and then they
had dinner after it.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
It's like just a part of the thing that went on.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
But Christmas is tough and it's good to be here,
all right.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
So let's do this. The Dallas Cowboys. So they lose
to Miami on a latefield goal, right, I mean had
a chance. They scored a late touchdown, but then couldn't
the defense couldn't hold it. Miami finally get to win
against the team over five hundred. It's huge for Miami.
The game was there, but the Cowboys lost again. They

(03:36):
did be one team over five hundred, right, the Eagles,
I believe this year. So where are you on the
Cowboys as we go forward? Because they've won twelve games
over the years, Like this is not them winning twelve.
It looks like they're not gonna win a division now, right,
So they're not gonna gonna be like a fifth or
sixth seed, right, not a one seed like the Eagles.

(03:57):
Of course, winning today that helps them in that situation,
But where are you on the Cowboys in another another
game where they couldn't beat like I.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Think a lot of teams. I think a lot of
teams are like in the situation right now, just like
the Eagles today where they almost lost that game to
the to the lowly Giants almost lost that game. As
this season has gone on, the greatest thing I think
you want to really do is clinch early if you can't,
because it looks like a lot of teams are kind
of tired. Looks like a lot of teams are physically

(04:28):
and possibly mentally worn out at this time. They're making mistakes,
they're doing things, players are doing some uncharacteristic things, and
the Cowboys have not looked like the same old Cowboys
team where Dak was just killing it earlier in the season.
You know, he was like in an MVP discussion, he
was playing so well. You know, he was just like
the boy.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
That happened the last two games after they lost that
game in Buffalo, and then they go to Miami with
a chance to get righted. Right, Miami has had ten wins,
hadn't beaten a good team there was that would have
been a good win for Dallas coming off that lost
to the.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Bill, Right.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
I think you get to this point in the season
and there are teams that have so much not only
tape on you, but have analyzed you so much and
know what you do well and know what you do wrong.
Because I think today and they were talking about how
Miami was playing the Cowboys and how the defensively sort
of like drop guys back now to sort of take
away things from Dak and make it a little bit
tougher for him and I all season long because he's

(05:24):
on one of my fantasy teams. I ken't questioning Wait
a minute, you got rid of Ezekiel Elliott because Tony
Poler was supposed to be the main Well, he.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Didn't have the year that that people expected, but he
was rightfully Dak was. I mean, uh Zeke was at
the end with the Cowboy exactly right. But Pollard hasn't
lived up to it, I'll.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Give you yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
And it's almost to the point now it seems like
in their offense they're like he is an afterthought. You know,
they don't go to him as much as you would
even think to try to get him going, which is
interesting to me. And I think that that that they
went away with Matt once Dak started to really play
out of his mind and throwing touchdowns all the way
the field for a while.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
But that was the biggest issue is that the Cowboys
win games. They bludgeon bad teams, bludge You talked about
the month that Dak had and everybody you had him
in the MVP conversation, and then he had a stinker
in Buffalo. But can they Where are they? I picked

(06:23):
them originally to play the Ravens in the Super Bowl.
I picked the Cowboys when I looked at the NFC
and I look at some of the stuff that they had.
I looked at their schedule, I looked at they got
a quarterback. I looked at, you know, some of the stuff.
He doesn't have to be spectacularly the spectacular quarterback to
win right limiture mistakes, get the ball to people, you
need to on third down, and it's not rocket science.

(06:44):
You don't have to be like the all time greatest
to win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
I think early in the season, I think the biggest
takeaway was in the NFC was you had basically two
teams that everybody thought was going to be there, Philadelphia
and the forty nine ers. Forty Niners still looked like
the cream of the crop of the NFC. The question is, now, though,
you know who kind of is sneaking up on people Tampa.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Bay, And you know what we're gon, We're gonna give
some Baker Mayfield some credit.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
We have to.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
They've won four games in a row. He's played well,
played well, He's played well. I mean that went in
Green Bay, which I believing a perfect passer rate.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
Yeah, they've got They've gotten the most out. It was
that Rashid White, the running back who for years has
just sort of been a so so player in that organization.
He is starting to just come on. So something is
going on down there where they have discovered a system
that works not for Mayfield but for him.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
But what what?

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Where are you on the Cowboys as far as if
they don't wind up getting this done, if they have
another postseason blowout. You know when I mean blowout, I mean,
is this is this on Mike McCarthy. Is this a
Dax statement? Because he was playing well. He was in
the m VP conversation like, if this falls apart and

(07:57):
they lose and their their playoff, they're gonna be the
fifth to succeed, right and they lose?

Speaker 3 (08:02):
What who do you put the blame on?

Speaker 5 (08:04):
There?

Speaker 3 (08:04):
They were rolling.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
I have to put this blame on the head coach because,
as I said, teams are starting to play back a
little bit differently on the defensive backfield, especially in trying
to reduce what he had been doing throwing the ball
CD Lamb and throwing the ball to Cook all over
the place. But now so if teams are starting to
take that away from you, you have to adjust, You
have to you have to sort of do things different, which.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Is so much about adjustment we talk about all the time,
and not to get off off course, but Alie de
la Cruz with the Reds. Remember he came in Gangsters
and I was on MLB Network and I'm just bringing
this up because I tried to tell.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
People he was killing it.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Remember the next Big Star put him on the All
Star team on you know, he finished with a two
thirty five batting average and struck out a ton you
know what, because they adjusted to him and he wasn't
able to adjust back.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
James Outman of the Dodgers, Remember he started off and
he was just looking like wow. And then team's kind
of like, okay, okay, we know you get the fastball,
now hit this right and and and he made some adjustments,
but he went into that funk where like, Okay, I
look like a rookie.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
And this is what I'm saying, like in sports, And
that's why you're saying Mike McCarthy hasn't made the necessary
adjustments because the offense have been better without Colum kellum Moore,
would you say that.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
Yes, yes, And and you know, and here's a guy
who came from Green Bay, so you know he's he's
he's coached great quarterbacks. But and you would think that
mccarvey has probably seen every kind of defense you can
imagine to try to stop your A list quarterback. So
I think that some of that situation where the adjustments
have to come from him, he has to, I think,

(09:38):
do a better look at the game film. Get they're
taken this away from Dak now and we're not as successful.
We've We've got to figure out something else in order
to get us down the field.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
It's gonna be interesting because I think a lot of
people at some point, don't you think how many years
can you keep going where you're not gonna make it
to the NFC Championship game?

Speaker 3 (09:59):
And who would you?

Speaker 1 (10:00):
I don't know right now. I think the Lions would
play who Right now they play the Rams, But what
if it was the Cowboys? Who would you pick in
that game?

Speaker 3 (10:07):
In Detroit?

Speaker 6 (10:10):
Well?

Speaker 4 (10:10):
The interesting thing about Detroit, though, Detroit's defensive backfield is suspect.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
I agree with that. That's the scary part, you.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
Know, So Dak might be Dak again mid season, Dak
against against that Lion's secondary. That's what you would have
to really worry about him, his ability to throw that
ball all over the field against that secondary. You know,
Lions fans are chomping at the bid of the possibility
of having to see Matt Stafford again.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
How painful would that be if he were able to
come and then rain on their parade and still continue
them not having the playoff?

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Yeah, and you know, I'm telling you the Rams offensively now,
they're flawed.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
But and then I'm not They've won five out of
six or whatever it is all teams on the five hundred,
but that's who's doing the schedule. I'm not knocking them
a chance to beat the Rays. And they didn't win
that game. That showed me something. Remember they lost an overtime.
They should have won that game, but they didn't win
that game. So I don't know where they are because
they're flawed and a better team could probably beat them.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
A better team, right.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
But now you think about those Rams wide receivers having
to play against the Lions though, cup Pooka, that's a
tough that's a tough defensive assignment. And if you know
how tough Stafford is, and people I don't think sometimes
forget just how mentally and physically tough, especially physically Stafford

(11:33):
takes a beating out there and just keeps going right.
You know, he's gonna be you know, at the end
of his playing career. I just hope they just give
him a sofa and let it lay around because he
takes a physical beating.

Speaker 6 (11:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
No, he's been in there, and remember that Detroit. He
got beat up a lot, got hurt early on in
his career.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
But the question really for the Cowboys is do they
have enough to beat Can they beat the Eagles? At
this point in time in the season, Eagles are starting
to regress a little bit as well.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Yeah, the Eagles are on the same team. And I
think we talked about this Allen before the show. Everybody
thinks it's the same team that went to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
It's not.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
They lost both coordinated, they lost a ton of players
on defense. It's not the same team. And they won
early when they were winning all those games, a lot
of close games against you know, and they were being
good teams, and then they hit that patch and everybody's like, wow,
I mean, they went through like a Gauntlett of teams
four games in a row and they beat them all.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Like like now if you went ahead to the head,
do I think the Cowboys can be the forty nine ers?

Speaker 5 (12:28):
No?

Speaker 4 (12:29):
I don't think they can be the forty nine ers.
And I think that like I said, like we said,
I think a scary team that you don't want to
play in the playoffs is Tampa Bay. I mean they
could sneak up on you. You know, Tampa Bay. That
here's what Tampa Bay is one of those teams. You
don't see him on TV very much, you know, and
especially in this market. You know, you so people are
like Tampa Bay one, but you haven't seen them. But

(12:51):
you start looking at at some of the highlights or
some of the stats, and you go like, man, how
is Baker Baker Mayfield's having? It's kind of a season.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
What's going on a lot of people people buried him,
and boy, what a comeback? I mean, and maybe this
is where he needs to be out of the lime left.
But he did win a playoff game for ye for
the Browns. People forget that first playoff winning twenty something
odd years and people act like nothing happen in Cleveland. So,
but we're talking about the Cowboys. You want to hear
about you and where you are and the Cowboys. Are
you still in or you're still out on the Cowboys?

(13:21):
They lose to the Bills and then they go on
the road again and lose to Miami, which hadn't beat
a team over five hundred all year. It was a
close game. They lost on the field goal at the end,
But you have you lost faith as far as them
moving forward going to the playoffs? Can they beat a
good team on the road in the postseason because they're
not winning the division? So where are you on the Cowboys?

(13:45):
Eight seven to seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven,
nine nine, six sixty three sixty nine. Give me your

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Where are you?

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Are you in and out on the sliding Cowboys? Two
road losses in a row, have a trouble beating the
good team, Dollan, It's just fact, it's not feelings eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
All right, let's hear what some of the fans have
to say. All right, Mark from Sacramento, you're listening to
the Odd Couple on Fox Sports Radio, and Mark, Merry
Christmas to you, buddy, Mark, Mary.

Speaker 5 (16:06):
What's going on? Merry Christmas? Alan, welcome and Rob. You know,
we got a regular thing. So I'm fulfilling my duties.
I missed you on Thanksgiving, but.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Do we lose you? Wait a minute, can you hear me?

Speaker 5 (16:18):
Rock?

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (16:18):
We got you, now, we got you. Yeah, Mark, I
appreciate you. You know that.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
Yeah. I said, I'm fulfilling my duties. I missed you
on Thanksgiving, but we got a five year thing going.
I wasn't gonna make you down today.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
My man, help.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
I was gonna say, uh, I just think it's been
a long season. We've seen all these good, these great teams,
including the forty nine Ers lose three in a row.
They added it.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
All your phone call back mark it's going in and out.
I don't know where you're in a bad spot. We
just lost them again, right, Okay, you can call back.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
And call back all right. I mean let's pivot to
Will from Wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (16:58):
Will.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
You're listening to the I Cup on Fox Sports Radio.
I'm Merry Christmas to you.

Speaker 8 (17:03):
Happy Christmas, Allen, and Happy Christmas.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
Rod.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Let me say it's real quick, real quick. Will, look
at that.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
The Ravens just gotta pick. Yeah, that defense is unbelievable. Okay,
I'm just telling people, all right, go ahead, Oh you.

Speaker 8 (17:17):
Know absolutely, And that's that was another part. Actually, thank
you rout to my comment that this season, no one
actually you know, it's not like a big you know,
take right to say that the NFC East is going
to come down between the Cowboys and Eagles, right. But
I think in what we saw with the I'll say

(17:37):
the evolution of that defense, with all the acquisitions between
the Cowboys and their most urgent competition, the forty nine ers,
it's an arms race, and they went and got a
truly overpowering defense to be able to compensate for where

(17:58):
Dak isn't able to manufacture points. And then we have
the gentlemen there with I think the six six the
pick six is this season, right, which if you take
those away, there really isn't anything different to Dak's performance
except for that team those that that that's six was
at the thirty six points there. So before we've betten denied,

(18:20):
Dak has had thirty six points this season in games
where where that wasn't there. Those are those games that
Dallas is dropping a little bit early in the season.
So I'd have to say that to your comment, you know,
some weeks ago. As far as history, the history on
Dark Prescott, the history on these Dallas Cowboys is that
they're not able.

Speaker 9 (18:41):
Robbie haven't been able to keep that winning way and
win those games later in the season, whether that be
last season against the Commanders or this season as we're
getting into the postseason.

Speaker 8 (18:53):
So I can't say that I'm out on them. I
know I had you know that that long shot Broncos
and Cowboys super Bowl all but but both but both
of those picks are sort of begging for better teams
to really take those spots.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Thanks for the call, no problem, I appreciate.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Yeah, Hey, hey, hope, have the rest of your Christmas
and have a good one.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Yeah, we got Mark back. Let's get tomorrow. We have
Mark Mark in Sacramento.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
We got you.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
I'm here you guys, hear me, Yes, go ahead, buddy, yep.
I want. I wanted to say I'm fulfilling my obligation
to you. I did not get a chance to talk
to you on Thanksgiving, but to hear them, but it
wasn't going to do that. Real quick, I think I
think the Cowboys are who this is, Who's it. I
think they are in the end because the schedule kind

(19:42):
of puffed up, puffed up what their record is. But
I think we're starting to see now when good they're
going to play good teams, they're being exposed. They're great
defense they had, it's not as good stopping the run
as it was, and they're running at Michael Parson so
he can't get to the quarterbacks office. He's seen a
lot of breakdown. But it's not just that they're being
exposed when they played these good teams, and real quick,

(20:02):
I think the long season is effected with all these teams.
You saw forty nine ers have a three games of
the street. You saw the Kansas He's got won. You
saw Philadelphia's punch drunks. I think you seem to trying
to get to the end because of the extra the
extra game and the travel. All these guys are going
overseas playing these overseas games too. If the guys.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
Here's the thing though, and I just wonder the Cowboys
regime and history as well hurts them, is that we've
seen this movie, you know what I mean like that,
And that's why I think that like Mike McCarthy, if
they get to the playoffs and they lose, he will
not be the coach.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
Like they cannot They can't do it again.

Speaker 5 (20:39):
You know, it's too bad because of Jerry Johnson today.
Want to put to the expectations talking about super Bowl
and preseason and then when they don't get there, Terry
turn that down sometimes enough, you know they have to
turn that down.

Speaker 8 (20:49):
Let's unwonted pressure, no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Thank you Mark Christmas to you and your family, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
So you think the Cowboys are actually gonna have to
get another another coach?

Speaker 1 (20:58):
I'm just saying, like, how if they embarrassed in the playoffs,
you think that that's gonna be good.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
I'll be three years in a row. All right, all right,
we got one more guy.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
At some point you gotta start to say this is
on the ownership.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
No, you know that's the last twenty eight years.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Right, all right, James from Arizona. No, no, we got
who left. Truck truckle don tuck trucker dot trucker DoD.
I hope he hears a trucker tea Yeah, no, no,
he's truckle don Merry Christmas, truckle don.

Speaker 8 (21:27):
Hey, Merry Christmas.

Speaker 6 (21:28):
Trucker nab not done, oh.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
Nab like.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Okay, sorry about that, because I was wonder if you
were in Tennessee, right, well, Merry Christmas to you only
through Tennessee.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know trucker don I hear him.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Yeah, but it's a nab. Oh gotcha, my man. We
appreciate you too.

Speaker 5 (21:46):
Yeah, A thank you.

Speaker 6 (21:48):
Listen, No matter whether anybody says, believe me, the Cowboys
are going to be the Cowboys. Dak Prescott is Dak
Prescott aka Quincy Carter. Okay, so it doesn't matter. It
doesn't what other teams do or the fats they have.
The Cowboys will never change until they give her to

(22:10):
dak Prescott in the in the end, in the end,
in February, that old teprary eleventh night in the fort Worth,
Texas one.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
The super Bowl's going on.

Speaker 8 (22:21):
I guarantee you.

Speaker 6 (22:23):
All you guys, Jerry Jones and Dakota Prescott will be
king off on the green on the Dolphins and the
forty nine ers kicking out on the super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
I'm out, all right, thanks, thanks for the horn. Now
on this christ Hey and Gig safety by the forty
nine Did.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
You see that play? It's kind of like that safety
was referee assisted. Referee got in the way in the
end zone.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
It would.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
He turned Oh well, yeah, he tripped him.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
He tripped him.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
The referees out of oh my god, he should get
an assist on the tackle. Oh wow.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
And they call the digital grounding, so it had to
be a safety. That's awful, dude, Look at look at
the spacial fees. I love you can see the game,
but that poor guy. You feel bad for the referee
right there because he realized, he knows, he just really
messed up.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Right, two nothing forty nine ers. That was bad?

Speaker 2 (23:21):
All right?

Speaker 1 (23:22):
Uh you know, coming up, we're gonna talk a little
bit more. We know we talked about Eric Beatbaby before.
We want to get into that a little bit more
and what he means to the Chiefs will do that
and much more. Be first, Kevin wirt as what's happened
in the sports and there's a lot on this Christmas side.

Speaker 10 (23:38):
Oh yeah, Christmas is a huge day. I mean, of course,
the NBA makes it probably their biggest day of their
regular season, but the NFL has decided they wanted on
the Christmas action as well, and arguably they put one
of the biggest matchups of the season in a prime
time the Baltimore Ravens San Francisco forty nine Ers, and
this has been a defensive battle so far, as each

(24:00):
defense has made a play. Kyle Hamilton picking off Rock Purty.
Now what was interesting because instead of taking a knee
as he picked it off in the end zone, he
ran it out to the eight yard line, and that
would become costly because the San Francisco forty nine ers have.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Just gotten a safety.

Speaker 10 (24:17):
So it's now two to nothing in favor of San
Francisco with ten and a half minutes ago in the
first quarter. These two defense really going at it early
on other NFL action. Earlier today, Eagles hold off the
Giants thirty three to twenty five, so Philadelphia now eleven
and four. They're in that number two spot in the
NFC playoff standings. They are tied with Detroit, however, they

(24:38):
do hold the tiebreaker. They're a half game behind San Francisco,
So if a forty nine Ers lose to the Ravens,
that could make things very interesting in the NFC playoff standings.
And earlier today it was the Chiefs upset at home
by the Raiders. Final score in that one twenty to fourteen,
Las Vegas getting two defensive touchdowns within the spin of

(25:02):
nine seconds of each other, they would strip Isaiah Pacheco,
they would get a scoop and score, and then following that,
the very first offensive play after getting the ball back,
the Chiefs would turn it over again. Delsea out of
the gun, rolls out to his right, tries to find
his receiver.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Tenner shut it down the.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
Sideline, Henter sept the Jack Jones.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
Henny walks in.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Touchdown back to.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Back play for the defense with touchdowns and the Raiders
defense has completely flipped this game.

Speaker 10 (25:34):
In Kansas City, that was Jason Horowitz on the Las
Vegas Raiders radio network. So the Raiders win a twenty
to fourteen and Kansas City now look like they would
be one of the favorites in the AFC, But now
they're nine and six and they're just a game ahead
of Jacksonville for that third seed in the AFC playoff
standings and in the NBA. One game in action right now,

(25:57):
the seventy six ers on top of the heat. It's
twenty two to twelve. I mean in favor of Philadelphia.
They got a couple of minutes ago in the first
quarter and some scores from earlier today. Celtics finish off
the Lakers one twenty six one fifteen, LA getting a
monster game from Anthony Davis in the lost forty points
and thirteen rebounds, but the Celtics improving to a league
best twenty three and six on the season. Nuggets over

(26:18):
the Warriors one twenty to one fourteen, Nicoli, you'll getch
a couple of assists, shy of a triple double twenty
six points, fourteen rebounds and eight insists. Ever now twelve
and two at home this season. And the Knicks over
the Bucks earlier today, one twenty nine one twenty two
Yannis with thirty two points, thirteen rebounds, six assists in
the loss and coming up later tonight at ten thirty

(26:39):
Eastern time, Mavericks and Suns will square off out in
the desert.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
Back to you guys, all.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
Right, Kevin, thank you, It is the Eye Couple. On
your Christmas night.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
Merry Christmas to all hope you uh have great evening,
great day with your family and the gifts and presents
and all that good cheer, good food will come into you.
Live from the Tire Rackte Studios. Earlier we talked about Kevin,
just talked about the upset and the Chiefs losing at
home to the Raiders and just a bad loss. The turnovers,

(27:11):
we talked about it. The Raiders were only able to
they didn't get any complete passes in the last three quarters.
O'Connell eight and O'Connell had sixty two passing yards and
beat Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City on Christmas. Like, just
think about that on Christmas. And the elephant in the

(27:34):
room is Eric b Enemy who is no longer the
offensive coordinator, and he was he was trashed on the
way out. Basically that allan that he didn't do anything,
and Andy Reid called all the plays and he doesn't
deserve a head coaching job, and he's interviewed with a
thousand places, and rightfully, so we shouldn't get a job
because what does he do. He had a great quarterback

(27:55):
in Patrick Mahomes. He has a great offensive mind, and
Andy Reid screwed.

Speaker 6 (28:01):
Right.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
Oh yeah, anybody could do it. Well, anybody's not doing
it now in Kansas City exactly. So, so I look
at this and is this exonerate? Has he been exonerated?
Like like do you have to take a re look
at this and say, wait a minute, because something's not
Kocher in Denmark?

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Yeah, that's the offense.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
And the whole thing was that you recall when he
went to Washington, you had a bunch of the players
going belly akin, he's too tough on us. We go,
I don't know, we can't deal with this. This is
you know, he needs to soften up a little bit.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
And what's caneron Rivera also came to the aid of
the players and out of him, remember that that they
were complaining and look at what.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
And what's going on in Kansasity right now? Is it
seems to be like a little lack of accountability and
a little lack of discipline on a lot of plays.
And who used to provide that, who used to hold
people like you know what, you need to do this right.
You need to get it right. If you don't show up.
This is the way we do it. This is how
we're going to do it. You need you need a
guy that is going to have some absolute structure, especially

(29:04):
when you have an offense that that that that does
so many different things and tries to be this and
tries to be that and tries to throw the ball. Well,
you got to scrambling quarterback who often makes plays on
the fly. But you need your your wide receivers to go.
If that's your quarterback, you have to understand the things
that he does in order to make you better. And
you got to help make him better.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
And and and you have and and people have to
be held accounted. We talked about this and and the
other thing is now now here's the other thing. And
and I get it. Patrick hasn't been the same. He really,
he really hasn't been the same. Uh So let's just
be fair with that. And and there's a lot of reasons.
The penalties, the drops. I'm not ignoring that stuff, but

(29:45):
but like the two turnovers he had today, Like he's
had some some bad moments as well.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
But but you got to look at this.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
Team and say, there's only one thing because because last year,
as much as we want to say, well no, Tyree Kill,
they won the Super Bowl last year, we're basically the
same team other than Juju exactly, like and Juju wasn't
exactly tearing it up. That's what I'm trying to say, Like,
did you mean to tell me that Patrick Mahomes success
is dude to Juju Smith?

Speaker 3 (30:11):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Like, like, are we really using that? As seven of
their top eight receivers returned this year?

Speaker 4 (30:18):
And to put salt on the wound, I think a
couple of weeks ago, Tyreek Hill said, well, you know,
our Miami team is better than that team we won
the Super Bowl with.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Right, And now you look and you say, like the Chief,
they scored fourteen points at home today and they've had
they've had struggles all year. Kelsey's still there. I know
he missed Game one when they lost to the Lions.
That was a game, but that first game always reminded Meat.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
I thought for sure.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
If you remember Allen that game, they get the ball
back with about two minutes too and change to go.
That's typical Patrick Mahomes drive down, kick a field, go on.
The Lions lose that game, right Like, that's we've seen
that his whole career. And remember they weren't able to
do that, and that was the start of the struggles
offensively and they won some game.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
We got the guy nine wins, but it doesn't feel
the same.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
Right And getting back to Hill, when you let a
guy like that walk out of your system, there is
there is hardly any way you're gonna replace that. You
don't replace it, you know, because Hill mixed with Casey Kelsey,
I mean those two together, how are you gonna guard that?
No one can right one guy who's a downhill threat,
even if you throw the other to go the distance.

(31:35):
I mean, how you can't. That's almost impossible to defend
against throughout the whole game.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
It's amazing where they are, the struggles we've seen Patrick
Mahomes two very emotional.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Like this is new to him. This is a guy
who has an impressive resume.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
You win, you win a super Bowl your first year
starting right and second year in the league. First year starting,
get off to that kind of start. You win a
super Bowl, you want to the MVP. You win the
Super Bowl MVP, like the world's your oyster.

Speaker 4 (32:04):
And you could tell the season isn't going the way
you want it, and you're getting frustrated with guys on
your team. When Mahomes had that blow up a few
weeks ago about that off sides call, I mean, you know,
you usually he's never reacted that way, and people made
a big thing like, oh my god, the cow upset
he was over this play, you know, and he wounded
up apologizing for it a couple of days later. But

(32:25):
the fact that you're in that mode right then and
there says a lot about I'm up upset with the
way that things are going on our team.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
He's definitely frustrated.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
This has to be trying, because they're like people just
a week ago are like, oh, you know, the Chiefs,
you guys are counting them out. They could still be
the top scene the AFC. I'm like, that team is
so flawed. I mean, you can look at it and
try to pretend alan like everything's okay, because at that
time they had nine wins and they looked at this schedule, said, oh,

(32:54):
the Raiders are at home, that's another win.

Speaker 8 (32:56):
Ten.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
They're gonna win twelve games. They could be the top
seed in the AFC. No or not because they're flawed
and and it bit them today. And that's a game.
And here's the other thing. With two games to play,
they haven't even clinched the playoffs. Now all of a
sudden it's changed.

Speaker 4 (33:10):
Yeah, can you imagine they haven't clinched the playoffs pot.
And that's you know, that's amazing for this team that
everybody goes like, oh, the Chiefs, the lord who got
the best generational quarterback. Mahomes might be the best quarterback.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
He's done.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
He's gonna be the greatest. You know, it's like not
so fast as said.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
Well, but we always say that because it's not any hate.
It is that in this game.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
We've seen it.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Alan there's a lot of you can't crown people too quickly,
Like the greats are the ones who are able to
do something and do it for a long period of time.
When you look at Tom Brady, when you look at
Aaron Rodgers, you can say whatever you want. When you
look at those those numbers and those stats, over the years.
The Lions just won the first their first division title.

(33:56):
There's a reason Aaron Rodgers is in that division. Like, seriously,
what happened Rogers?

Speaker 4 (34:00):
When things change for him with Devonte a Right, you know,
you start taking away, you start.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
Taking away pieces. Things change, things.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
Change, you know what's replace in them. Takes a little
time to get them acclimated to what you used to do, no.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Doubt about it. All right, coming up, we're gonna do
a little baseball. Allen is all hot and bothered with
the Dodgers. He's actually, I mean, he's excited. You know,
I'm a Dodger slappy. There's so many My god, dude,
they have any money left. I want you to know,
Allen Lee, when you go to Dodger Stadium, my hot
dog is now eighty dollars to be able to pay
for these Japanese players that they're signing.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
Worth every bite.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Eighty dollars for a hot dog at Dodgers stated, Oh
my goodness, gracious, we'll talk about that and much more.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
It is the odd couple on your Christmas night. Yes,
we are here. We're a live bill, O'Reilly, We're a
lot live. We are doing it live I write it
and we'll do it live right here, so you know
what I want to say to you. Stick and stay.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
The otan air in the US of A.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
Alan, you feel like you're back in uh. I love
back in the club, back at the club in the day. Hey,
your name, my goodness, you.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
Live around here.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
It is the Odd Couple on your Merry Christmas evening.
That's right, Rob Parker and Allen Lee and for Chris
Bussar coming to you live from the tire Rack dot
Com studios and we we gotta squeeze some baseball in here.
First of all, Allan and I both loved the game
of baseball. Allen was a former minor league baseball player.
But he's a Dodger slappy and he loves the Dodgers,

(35:49):
and I'm not mad at him. But my god, they
just spent one point one billion dollars on two players.
Ya Mamoto's the latest the picture that they got Alan,
I mean the Dodgers, My goodness, gracious, are they gonna
win the next ten World Series or what's gonna happening here?

Speaker 4 (36:05):
You know who is hoping they do. Dave Roberts.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
No, the prussure is on.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
Oh my goodness, I would hate to be Dave Roberts
right now because it's like, Okay, we have given you
and we're still trying to get you more stuff.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Don't forget they've won over one hundred games the last
two years. Got knocked out in the first round two
years in a row. Now, that will not be tolerat.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
That would not be tolerated. But I was say, in
the past, you've had some injuries that it's kind of
hurt you, but still you underperforming.

Speaker 3 (36:30):
Yeah, but you have. But you had two guys Mookie
and Freddy horrible, horrible and.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
And and like you said, being a Dodger slappy. My
take on that is, I know that Freddy wants to
play every game. I know Mookie, and I think Mookie
did the smart thing already by saying he wants to
play second base to take away some of that wear
and tear on him. You can't keep letting Freddy play
every game every season. I think Freddie needs to drop
down to about one hundred and forty eight one hundred

(36:56):
and fifty games a season. You need to give him
some rest.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Right, not only you want to he can't burn the
guy out. I mean, this is not it's not the
old days. It's just you gotta get him some rest.
And and even if it's just eight or nine games
a year, you know what I mean, pick a spot
where you got a day off and another day. But
just tell me, if you're a Dodger fan, just obviously
the old Tani, but then Yamamoto to add him on top.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
That's the I'm The only critical part.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
I am of Yamamoto is that he he had a
chance to maybe be a rival of Otani, and and
I feel like he's Kevin Durant.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
He could have gone to the Giants.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
He only only he only plays every fifth day.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
No, but here's the other one.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
If he goes to the Yankees, when's the last time
they won the World Series two thousand and nine?

Speaker 3 (37:44):
Okay, So if he's the new piece and they're able to.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
Win, and he wins the big game, Game seven or
six or whatever it is, I'm not saying that Garrett
Cole would be dog food, but he's the new addition
on what got them over.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
He makes his own name, his own legacy. That was
my only issue.

Speaker 4 (38:02):
My point is with both of those on the on
the Dodgers, you are going to absolutely own the Asian
market around the world. That's one.

Speaker 1 (38:10):
Yeah, but you're still taking a backseat to Altani. I
don't care what.

Speaker 4 (38:13):
You but you are always going to do that.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
But if you are always if he was to go,
if you had those two, I'm just telling you Allan
and the Yankees wound up going on a run and
won some games and then so so you would say,
I'm not saying that, I'm not saying that it would
you it would like, uh, discredit Otani or people wouldn't
be into him. But but Mike Trout was considered like

(38:38):
one of the greatest players, but he didn't even make
the playoffs. So that takes away from some of your
mystique and some of the stuff if you don't win.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
So my point even on your Yankee comment, so you're
trying to tell me then the Yamamoto is going to
be greater than Aaron Judge who's on your team.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
No, but he would be the added piece because they
weren't winning with just judge and cole is my point.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
So he would have to get it when you when.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
You ate, and you don't think that gonna get credit.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
No, No, he's going to be overshadowed by no matter
what he does.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
This iss teams. Do not kid yourself.

Speaker 4 (39:14):
Dodgers make the playoffs, and the Dodgers get down to
the point where they're killing people or even close games,
and the games you have to win, and and and
and it's a close game, and Yamamoto is on the mound,
then he gets it done for you. You better darn
your belief. Yamamoto is making a huge difference for you.

Speaker 3 (39:32):
Whose team is it you? I've had to pick one
player whose team isn't.

Speaker 4 (39:35):
You know what I'm still gonna Otani is the Tani
is the mystique of the team.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
Right now, that's his team. Already.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
You already moved a Hall of Fame right fielder out
of position.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
No, that wasn't that?

Speaker 4 (39:50):
How does how does Bets move in the second affect Otani?

Speaker 3 (39:53):
He canna play right field every day?

Speaker 4 (39:55):
Bets Otani, He's no to rightfields. Kind of set the
Dodgers in a way. David Dave, the manager, Dave Roberts
has already said he would like he's entertained the idea,
and he's talked to Otani about playing left field. Okay,
but that's your whole.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
Okay, but there's but you're moving a second baseman, you're
moving up a Hall of Fame outfield. That was Mookie's decision. No, okay,
but I'm just saying Mookie was tired of get it.
But I'm saying, whose team is it?

Speaker 4 (40:23):
And tell Otani is right now the mystique that's team
is it?

Speaker 3 (40:29):
You just saw what happened. I got it.

Speaker 4 (40:31):
I got two guys that were up for the MVP
of the National League. They were in that discussion. And
I'm just adding a guy who won the America. He's
gonna make that trans MVP.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
Two years out of two out of three years.

Speaker 4 (40:43):
Actly.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
It's his team. Stop it out.

Speaker 4 (40:45):
He's got to earn it. He's got to earn it.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
It is his team, all right.

Speaker 1 (40:49):
Coming up next, we're talking about your Detroit Lions. Is
there any confetti left in Detroit? They're already celebrating like
they want to. They just wanted to vision stick and
stay
