The super producer Rob g is in full effect. Of course.
I just introduced DJ Alex Heiser aka Alex.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
The Vegan on the Ones and.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
Twoes, on the Updates, our man Steve the Seger and
on social media, the Great Elijah sebun All right, Rob.
Two huge games, as we all know, the championship games,
NFC Championship Detroit at San Francisco, AFC Championship is Baltimore
(03:01):
hosting the Kansas City Chiefs, defending Super Bowl champion, Kansas
City Chiefs trying to repeat, Rob, trying to be the
first what repeat champion since Tom Brady and the Patriots
did it way back in two thousand and three, two
thousand and four, so basically twenty years. And it's interesting, Rob,
(03:23):
because last week, going into the divisional round, everybody was
pumping up, or at least a lot of the media
was pumping up Josh Allen versus Patrick Mahomes. Is that
that's the new Manning versus Brady and so on and
so forth, the great rivalry. And I mean, I get
(03:47):
that Josh Allen has had some success against Mahomes in
the regular season. I think he's beating three times in
the regular season, but he has never beaten him in
the post. He's in fact now he's zero and three.
And I don't think.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
That's a rivalry. You and I talk all the time.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
A rivalry is when both teams win sometimes, and so
I would not call that a rivalry. And I'm gonna
be honest right now, I don't think Patrick Mahomes has
a rival. Now this weekend could change that, and I
actually expected to because I'm picking, as are you, the
(04:31):
Baltimore Ravens to win and Lamar Jackson's to beat Mahomes,
and so you know, I think the closest would be
at this moment Joe Burrow, right, who beat Mahomes in
the playoffs once got to the Super Bowl a couple
of years.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Gonna lost, but I think the difference.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
I think Lamar beating Mahomes rob would move him ahead
of Burrow as far as being Mahomes' rival, because he
actually has the individual hardware to match Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
We all expect him.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
I think it's pretty clear he's going to win his
second MVP, which will actually give him as many as
Patrick Mahomes has he and then beating Mahomes in the
playoffs I think would certainly be like, Okay, this is
now an actual rivalry. Burrow doesn't have the regular season hardware,
(05:30):
to be honest, neither does Alan. Burrow's actually only made
one Pro Bowl. Alan has made two, but neither of
them have been all Pro. Mahomes has been All Pro
twice and Lamar has been All Pro twice, so their
individual accomplishments are actually pretty similar. Once Lamar wins this MVP,
(05:54):
and so I think Lamar has a chance that if
Lamar loses, then I really would argue, Yeah, okay, you
can say Burrow, but I wouldn't think Patrick Mahomes has
a rival.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
Yeah, I disagree. I think it's Joe Burrow only.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Because Joe Burrow beat Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City to
go to the Super Bowl, like that was one of
those moments. And obviously Chris the only reason that he
hasn't had more or had a chance. And I know
they lost what was the last time they played, the
lost by three, right in that game, Yeah, he didn't
he didn't play that well, but they lost by three.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
If he played well, they might have won that game.
They didn't.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
But the other part is he's been hurt, so that's
kind of taking him out.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Of the mix.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Yeah, but when he does play against him, and if
I remember he had been he was two and zero,
I think right, he's three and one career wise versus
Mahomes three and one. I think that's that's viable. Not
too many quarterbacks. Chris would as much winning as Kansas
City has done. Can say that they've beat Mahomes three times,
(06:59):
including that AFC Championship game in Kansas City. I think
obviously he doesn't have the MVPs, but I'm talking about
having to beat somebody, especially when they come into your
crib and beat you, and I think they will remember.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
They were talking about it. If he would have beaten.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Them in that last one, they were going to rename
the stadium after him because he would have been four
and trash talk, no, I know, but I'm just saying
he would have been four and o with three wins
in Kansas City, Chris. I mean, that's the part that's shocking.
I think, you know, most people would look at it.
So I think Joe Burrow is he doesn't match the hardware,
(07:39):
but he's going to be in the way.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
If he's healthy.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
He's that kind of guy who can change a team,
carry a team. People were maybe hoping Josh Allen could
do that, Chris, and I'm with you. I think the
only way Josh Allen and you can't blame him when
they lost in the thirteen seconds.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
He played fabulous.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
He was great, He was absolutely great, and it changes
the narrative about him and about Mahomes and the conversation
had they had they held on and won that game.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
That was game was in Kansas City as well. You
know what that was.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Everything that would have changed, Chris would have changed everything
that that.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
But Mahomes finds a way to pull those games out.
I mean that's the thing. Like you're talking about the
Cincinnati game last year, Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Found a way you could talk about a controversial car.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Well it was it was a found a way out
of bounds that they gave him.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
He got unnecessary hit or whatever it was.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Yeah, it was over the top and then they moved
into field goal range and they lost.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
That's the game that he lost to him.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
So it's just when you start to look at it, Uh,
Josh Allen had a chance.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
That thing didn't work out for him.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
But but I do think it's Joe Burrow and of course, Chris,
You're right, it'll be Lamar will definitely be in that
case because if he does this, wins the super Bowl
and now he has two m vps and a super
Bowl and Baltimore is good for the next couple of years,
and he matches Mahomes and now they have both have
two MVPs and two Super Bowls. You know what I
(09:12):
mean now, I mean even like not as another conversation
would would you would you say if Lamar wins or
this weekend that he has become at least the number
one rival with Mahomes?
Speaker 3 (09:28):
No?
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Or you really you still you still think it would
be Burrow.
Speaker 5 (09:32):
I still think Burrow has had more.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Just just that he's beating a more season just isn't
as big of it.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Nobody beat him to go to the Super He also
beat him to go to the super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (09:41):
He didn't win, Chris, I'm.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Just saying to go again, and then, I mean he hasn't.
I just think Lebron's rival gotta be another dude winning MVPs.
You know, Jordan's rival has to be I think I
don't think Jordan had a rival.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
I just think it's more than that.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
I think it's somebody who could be, somebody who's in
your way, someone who can stop you. And there's only
been one kryptonite, and that's Joe Burrow to me so far.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't call Joe Burrow kryptonite. I mean
to Mahomes but I just don't and I think part
of it, as you brought up, he is hurt a lot,
and like Joe Burrow now, like we've talked about it, Rober,
I don't know if you agree with me on this
or not, but it's kind of at least for next year,
like let's see him get through next hopefully next season
(10:30):
he's fully healthy, there are no issues. But if he
you know, right now, it's kind of like you have
to throw into if he's healthy, because he's just been
hurt a lot his rookie year.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
He obviously was hurt.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
Last year, he obviously was hurt, and the way he
got hurt was just rolling out in a practice, you know,
to throw a pass. And so I think that the
injury prone nature of Burrow right now to me hurts
the quote unquote rivalry. But to me, right now it's
Patrick Mahons by himself. And I just think if I think,
(11:06):
right now, it's kind of like Jordan was. Now Mahomes
hasn't won him straight, but right now, it was like
you know, Ewing Barkley Malone, where any of them really
his right, they're all great players, but were any of
them really his rivals? And I think we'd all say no,
(11:28):
but they were. They were great players that he just
kept beating. But I think Lamar would become a rival
now if Lamar wins the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
Now let's take that.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
So you think if Lamar wins this weekend, it doesn't
mean he's the rivalry.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
What if he wins the super Bowl? That's different.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
That's different because Joe Brow hasn't won a super Bowl, right,
and so he went through him and he got the
super Bowl. Now he has a super Bowl right going
through Mahomes and.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
The two MVPs. Yes he would.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
He would supersede Joe Burrow from that standpoint. But if
he does the same thing that Joe Burrow does, which
is he beats him but then loses in the loses
in the super Bowl or something, you know, like winning
the super Bowl, would be supersede Joe Burrow. But right now,
a three and one record against Patrick Mahomes, including beating
(12:22):
them in Kansas City to go to a super Bowl,
I mean.
Speaker 5 (12:26):
That's just for me.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
I think that's pretty impressive, even though they didn't win.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
Would you because I think some may I will I
would will not or would not If Lamar wins this game,
would you or and maybe it's if he wins the
game in the Super Bowl, would you argue that he's
the best quarterback in the NFL over Mahomes.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
It just depends on what kind of performance he puts in,
Uh in both games. I think the great he's got
to play. Really where you go? My god, we finally
got to see this kid healthy. He's got his contract,
no more distractions, he's healthy, He's got some weapons Chris
offensively that he didn't have early on. His game is matured.
(13:15):
And then you start to look at him going forward.
And I think that's the part that's scary, because he
did something right with the with the with the two
MVPs that, like we said, we're assuming he's gonna win,
and I think we're pretty safe with that considering the
vote that they you know, leaked out right there that
wasn't didn't wasn't the leak, but when they looked at
(13:36):
the writers, but the odds, I mean, look, ye see,
if the odds end up being right, we saw it before,
remember that we saw with Brady and Aaron Rodgers and
that those numbers came out.
Speaker 5 (13:44):
And they held true, right, they held true?
Speaker 1 (13:47):
So yeah, that that would be uh. I think you
would have him in kind of a conversation because of
where he's trending, and just depends on what happened with
Kansas City going forward as well.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
This was a rough year. If they get beat okay,
like they they wouldn't be the end of the world.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
But then we would look at next year, is Andy
Reid retiring?
Speaker 5 (14:11):
Are they losing more players? You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Are they Are they starting to like is this Kansas
City run over? And then you start to look at
it and say who's trending up and who's trending down?
Speaker 5 (14:22):
And it would be Lamar's trending up all right?
Speaker 4 (14:25):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Does Patrick Mahomes
have have a rival and if so, who is it?
I say, there's no rival right now, but Lamar could
become the rival shit he win this weekend. Rob says
his rival is Joe Burrow and it'll stay that way
(14:48):
at least until.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
This Super Bowl.

Does Patrick Mahomes have a rival? And who is it?
Speaker 5 (16:10):
You thought?
Speaker 1 (16:10):
All right, let's kick it off with Canela in Denver.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
What's up, Canela?
Speaker 7 (16:17):
What up?
Speaker 8 (16:18):
Though?
Speaker 9 (16:18):
I'm my guys doing tonight.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
Doing great?
Speaker 2 (16:21):
How are you?
Speaker 7 (16:22):
I'm doing well?
Speaker 9 (16:23):
I just want to say, first and foremost enjoyed the party, Robber.
It was fantastic.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Did you see Chris there, Canela? Did you see Chris
at the punt?
Speaker 9 (16:31):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (16:32):
We did.
Speaker 9 (16:32):
I took a picture of here. My mom as well.
She thought very highly of both of you. She felt
very comfortable. So it needs a lot to me that
she had a good time and awesome. He hasn't been
in Vegas in twenty years, so you know, so it
was a great time. So I appreciate both of you
guys for that.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Thank you, Yes, thank you man. Good to have you
on the show again.
Speaker 9 (16:50):
Yes, sir, so this is what I got. I think
if the Ravens win, yes, they're one rival. Just because
I think those days for Cincinnati are over. I just
think Joe Burr's too fragile. I mean, he's keep getting
hurt rolling out the pocket and practice and just little
things like that. And I think that the Ravens really
figured out an office that works for Lamar, and especially
(17:11):
now that he's tackling a lot better. I think he
was getting hurt later on in the season in the
pastures because he wasn't throwing the ball as well as
he's throwing it right now, So that's why he would
have to roll out and get hurt trying.
Speaker 8 (17:23):
To make plays.
Speaker 9 (17:24):
But he's not doing that anymore, so that defense isn't
going anywhere. I don't know what's going on with te
Higgins and Bigg's going to be able to keep him
in Cincinnati, so.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
Probably not Chris, right, probably not, but they will have Jamar.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
They still got a nice receiving court.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
Right, thanks. Canel appreciate it, no doubt?
Speaker 2 (17:44):
Rob, Let me ask you this quickly.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
I don't look at Lamar's injuries like I look at Burrows.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Would you agree with it?
Speaker 4 (17:50):
Even though Lamar hasn't completed the last two seasons before
this one, they haven't been as serious to me.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Like you know, Joe Burrows had serious and thinking. And
the thing is that I think Chris is smart. I
gotta give Baltimore.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
Credit.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
You saw Lamar score the two touchdowns in the playoff
game right running, but running, But this season they backed
off of that. They give the ball to Edwards, give
the ball to you know, running backs down there, and
I think.
Speaker 5 (18:20):
That's smart to keep them out.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
That's where you get hurt, Chris, where all the bodies
scored those on relatively long run, you know, right at
the goal line. But you know what I mean, like
before he could have easily scored a lot of those
touchdowns that Edwards scored this year, Chris, right at the
goal line, and I think you take him out of
that and avoid some some hits that he doesn't need
to have. I think it's smart. Omar in Erie, Pennsylvania,
(18:47):
you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (18:49):
What's up, Omar? Great man?
Speaker 2 (18:53):
How are you good?
Speaker 7 (18:55):
Good?
Speaker 10 (18:57):
I don't think my holes really the rival right now,
And I think Lamar would have to win, Like if
Burrow won the Super Bowl after beat you could say
he is the rival.
Speaker 5 (19:09):
But so three and one means nothing to you.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
I mean, nobody's beating Mahomes three out of four times.
Speaker 10 (19:19):
Burrow just doesn't have the accolades. If Lamar was three
and one, you could probably say he's more of a rival.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Yeah, Burrows gotta win some hardware individually.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Unless he just keeps beating him in the playoffs, that
would be.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
But I just think when when you beat somebody, and
it just depends going forward. If if they played and
it's a hypothetical, obviously, if they played three more times
and Burrow's healthy and his team beat Mahomes three times
and it's six and one, I would it would obviously
be a ri right, I mean, yeah, I look, I
think without the I'm just saying the say that without the.
Speaker 5 (20:00):
Hardware, say it doesn't win the MVP.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
Yeah, I think there's two ways.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
You got to either have the great individual hardware or
the postseason wins, you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (20:10):
Right?
Speaker 2 (20:10):
So, yeah, I mean, and I think someone will emerge.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
Maybe it's Lamar, maybe it's Burrow, I mean, going it
could be Allen, but right now he'd be behind it.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
It just depends on what happens with Kansas City going
at this moment.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
I wouldn't say there is one that most change this weekend, Ye,
Mark and Sacramento.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports waiting what's up?
Speaker 8 (20:31):
Mark, what's going on, Jim, Guys today we're great. I
want to give some props to somebody and all the
rest of you national media out there bout down to
Rob Parker. He called he called my boy Jackson before
all you other suckers got in the bandwagon. Props to
(20:53):
Rob Parker.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
I got that one right. Chris knows that too. That
was the one idea I called it from the start
of the season.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
Yeah, yeah, I picked the Holmes pre season, so yeah,
I'll get that.
Speaker 8 (21:06):
Yeah. With that being said, I think Joe Burrow's injuries
is stopping him from becoming a rival for Mahomes. But
I guarantee what just happened with my boy Harball going
to the Chargers, Herbert could become that because they played
twice a year. Let's see the magic that Harbart could
(21:29):
do with Herbert. And they have a pretty good defense too.
If they can get it together with Mac, they got
a bustle boy, and they got a killer and Derwin
James at safety. If they can get that together, the
Chargers could be there.
Speaker 7 (21:42):
That's all them.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Quiz and I with you. The Chargers aren't. The Chargers
aren't that far away. They got playmakers on defense. They
got a franchise quarterback who grossly underachieved Chris.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Would you say that had a bad head coach? That
cost them games.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
There were a couple times they could have won a
couple of Remember that game against Kansas City in LA.
Speaker 5 (22:04):
He blew that game.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
They went forward in their own zone a couple of times,
Chris and their own twenty or whatever, like ridiculous, not
taking field goals, not adding points to the score.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
I don't think the charge of that far away. I
don't nah there. They could become another one. I'm gonna
throw out a CJ.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Stroud.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
He might become a rival. Like I just gotta see
one more year from him. Yeah, I mean obvious, you
know what I mean, like playing well, But I'm just saying, like, no,
I got him. If he like builds on this year
and becomes a truly great quarterback, then he could be
in there.
Speaker 9 (22:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
I'm gonna be watching.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
I'm gonna be watching Houston closely next year because yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
I think they're gonna be good.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
Yeah, that's the one I want to see, Chris.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Did they really take a step like that out of
the box or do they fall back a little bit
and then you know what I mean and then become
something because sometimes people they have tape on people, they
start to play it differently thought.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
They take a jump. All right, Eddie House, around the corner.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
On a Friday night? What are you doing on this
show on a Friday night?
Speaker 7 (23:37):
Oh? Man, you know it's steal good Friday. So I
had to get some feel good to the show on Friday.
Speaker 5 (23:42):
There you go, all right, here you go appreciate.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
Well, look, you know who's feeling good right now, Eddie.
Speaker 5 (23:48):
The Knicks.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
The New York Knicks.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
They've won eleven of their last thirty Eddie, Eddie ain't
baring the left out of that. I do know because
type they have beaten three of those games.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
A lot of the teams weren't that good.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
But they beat Minnesota, they beat Philly, and they beat Denver.
Pummel Denver last night. So how good do you think
the Knicks are? Have they entered they moved ahead of
Cleveland as a fourth seed. Have they entered that contender
legit contender status in the Eastern Conference in your mind?
Speaker 7 (24:23):
A contender as what do you mean by.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
That I could win, that could win the conference?
Speaker 7 (24:30):
No, I don't think so.
Speaker 8 (24:31):
I think I'm with you there.
Speaker 7 (24:34):
I do think that they're a very good team. And
with Og coming over there, they got better defensively, you know,
better in transition. H and they believe the one thing
about Tibbs, Tibbs has has been playing and they're gonna
play defense and their defensive defensive team first, Uh, they
are they hooping? They're hooping right now, you know. But
(24:56):
this is when you pick up some wins or you
can lose some wins in the all days of the NBA.
It's either you're gonna pick up wins during the dog days,
or are you gonna lose some games that you're not
supposed to lose. I take them for what they are,
Like you said, fourth seed, fifth, four, fifth, thirty Yet
not I don't even think of thirsty, but a four
to fifth seed and things like that. And to me,
(25:21):
they'll compete. They'll compete in the playoffs. But as far
as for the champions the championship, no, no, no, man, I
don't think that they're there yet. There are a couple
of pieces away.
Speaker 5 (25:34):
How about the Golden State Warriors. Steph Curry looked.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Like a Washington general at the end of the game,
dribble a ball off his leg or whatever. People, of course,
the anti Curry people say he's not clutched. That there's
another example. How bad are the Warriors? And as Steph
not being a start on the All Star just give
me where his game is and where he's headed.
Speaker 5 (25:56):
Steph.
Speaker 7 (25:57):
Well, I will say this for anybody that thinks that
Steph Curry is not clutched, they didn't watch the twenty
twenty two finals.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
He's zero for ten with less than twenty seconds ago,
with a chance to win a game, chance to win
a game or put it on a tider game.
Speaker 5 (26:14):
I mean, those are the facts.
Speaker 7 (26:15):
What about the game?
Speaker 5 (26:16):
Those are facts.
Speaker 7 (26:18):
Those are facts that I got that fact. But let's
people do these other facts. What about the fact where
he does have fifty points or forty points or thirty
something points and it doesn't come down to the last ten.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
But when you talk about clutch, that's what you're talking.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
About, Eddie.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
You can't redefine the term clutch.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Clutch means in the just like you are clutch three
point shooter.
Speaker 5 (26:39):
You made big baskets.
Speaker 7 (26:41):
I don't agree with clutch has to deal with the last.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
Ray Allen was a clutch shooter.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Ray Allen made big buckets, maybe one of the biggest
threes in NBA history.
Speaker 5 (26:50):
That's a clutch shot.
Speaker 7 (26:52):
That is a clutch shot. But you also got to
be clutched throughout the game, like every single situation determines
whether he made big time clutch shots.
Speaker 5 (27:03):
He was unbelievable in the clutch, that's all.
Speaker 7 (27:06):
Would you take Okay, So let me ask you this.
Would you take Robert or over Steph Curry?
Speaker 8 (27:11):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (27:11):
If I needed a big if I needed a big
basket at the end of the game, I would take
Robert Oory ten times out of ten.
Speaker 7 (27:18):
Robert Orriy was never the main guy.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
I got it.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
You asked me about a clutch shot.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Would it's easier to.
Speaker 7 (27:28):
Get the shot when everybody's focused on somebody else and
you get that wide open shot because they're doubling this
guy or they're doubling that guy. And I'm not knocking
what Robert Rorriy did because he made a million big shots.
I'm not saying that. But through the course of the game,
when you were looking at somebody and constantly they're getting
double team the focus of their defense is focused on you,
(27:49):
and you still are able to perform, get fifty points,
go win four championships, and be a big part of
all of those things. You can't knock and say that
he's not clutch because you want to take all ten
games simple size and say, oh, yeah, those ten games
right there. He's not good. That's not that's not fair
to me. That's that's not that's not doing the due diligence.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Robin.
Speaker 7 (28:10):
That's not like you, brother.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
No, it is like him. You know. Let me ask
you this.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
And you played for Doc Rivers, won a championship with
Doc Rivers, and that yeah, two thousand and eight, long
time agoing in Boston, Doc going to Milwaukee to lead
them to the title. He hasn't gotten past the second
round since Moby Dick was a guppy?
Speaker 5 (28:35):
Is robber than twenty twelve?
Speaker 2 (28:38):
And Rob and I have been skeptical.
Speaker 5 (28:40):
Look, we're skeptical. We're skeptical. When he went to Philly, right.
Speaker 8 (28:44):
Was a guppy?
Speaker 5 (28:45):
Though you ever heard that?
Speaker 4 (28:48):
Bro?
Speaker 2 (28:48):
You know how many times I've heard that?
Speaker 4 (28:50):
One thousand, seven hundred ninety four and that's gone up
since the party in Vegas?
Speaker 2 (28:55):
But anyway, where are you?
Speaker 4 (28:58):
I mean, look, we know obviously you got feelings for Doc.
He was the coach that helped you win the championship.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
Chris we liked. We don't like him. I'm just saying,
like man.
Speaker 4 (29:10):
Seven years in the Clippers, three years with Philly and
hasn't gotten them past the second round.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
We don't feel like Doc is the man for this job.
Where you at on it?
Speaker 7 (29:21):
Well, I would say this as any of those players
that in the teams that they failed, had they won
anywhere before?
Speaker 4 (29:28):
No?
Speaker 7 (29:28):
Have they won after that?
Speaker 8 (29:30):
No?
Speaker 7 (29:30):
They haven't. So sometimes you know.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Well Kawhi had won, but he's been hurt. They had
the one year.
Speaker 7 (29:36):
Really that don't really count.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
They had one year that was it.
Speaker 7 (29:41):
Really yeah, that don't really count. But I think Colin
cow Hurst said it he said, you got to give
credit to somebody gets the team to three to one.
At three to one, then it comes down to who's
going to be performing. Who's going to be the guy
to say I'm the showstopper. It's over the buck stops here, well,
in those situations and no stops that he had where
(30:03):
it didn't work. I think he has show stoppers. I
think he has a Dame Lilard literally Lillard, who is
a show stopper. I think he has a Gianna Thomson compo,
which we think is possibly one of the best. Some
people can already say he's the best player in the league,
or he is a top one.
Speaker 10 (30:19):
Two three player in the league.
Speaker 7 (30:20):
For sure, we could argue that all day, right, So
he has that.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
But Eddie here, the resume, Eddie is just is awful. Okay,
there's no other way of sugarcoating it. He's blown more
three to three to one leads than any coaching NBA
history or Okay, but let me give you this. And
he's currently on a streak of five straight game seven losses.
(30:44):
He's lost ten game sevens in his career, and he's
also lost nine straight games with a chance to reach
the conference finals.
Speaker 5 (30:55):
The problem with it being just about.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
His players, and these are with different players, was in
different situations, the common denominate on all.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
Of these A dot.
Speaker 7 (31:05):
I would say this, I don't believe that not none
of those players or none of those teams that we
start talking about all of those players, I don't believe
not one of those players that was on those teams
was the best player on the floor that night when
they lost the game seven. They weren't the best player.
Somebody else was the best player. Somebody else was a
(31:26):
coach that was a recipient of their player stepping up
of being the best player in that game.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
Sea, why was the best player when they lost? They
when they lost to Denver that three to one lead.
He was better than than those guys who are who
are better now Chris.
Speaker 7 (31:40):
He wasn't one hundred healthy though.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
No that one year, that that one in the bubble
that would show Paul George were healthy.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
They show and we don't.
Speaker 9 (31:51):
We don't.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
We put it on the players too.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
It's not that we're only saying, all right, we just
all on Doc, but we we we gotta run by Daddy.
Speaker 5 (31:59):
Thank you man, Have a great have a good weekend.
Speaker 7 (32:01):
Bro y'all too, man y'allo yep.

It's time, folks for Shekel City.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
Welcome to Shekel City, the home base for Rob Parker's
daily picks against the spread.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
All right, one and two last night, Let's see we
could do better than that. Got the Rockets mining five
and a half in Charlotte taking on the Hornets. That's
my best bet going with the Clippers minus seven and
a half. They're on the road taking on the Raptors
north of the border, and the Magic minus five and
a half are at the Grizzlies. So I got Magic
(33:18):
again minus five and a half, Clippers minus seven and
a half, and the Rockets minus five and a half.
All bad teams hosting tonight. And I think all these
teams will win and cover the spread. And remember, I'm
not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you
who I bet on.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
All right, there you have it from Rob Parker. All right, Rob,
interesting story.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
Steph Curry, the Great Shooter, has hinted at a three
point shootout against Sabrina Ionesco of the New York Liberty
for All Star Weekend. Now is it official, Rob g
or they just kind of throwing stuff out there.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
It's been reported that it's going to happen, but the
terms and the details of the competition are still not
reported yet.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
Okay, And what sparked this was iron Esco scoring thirty
seven points in the WNBA you know three point shootout
last summer and that beat a Steph score of thirty one.
So that's why he joked about I think I got
(34:32):
a challenger.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
And then now the ball are they using? That's what
I want to know.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
My assumption would be he would shoot with you know,
men's size balls, and she would shoot with the women's That's.
Speaker 5 (34:43):
How Nancy Lieberman beat me. Chris. I want you to
know they slipped in a w NBA ball. I felt
like I was playing with a volleyball. Was so bad.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Yeah, I you never play with a WNBA ball, Chris, Seriously,
it's small.
Speaker 2 (34:57):
No, I know it's small. I have not I know,
I don't even know. You know what, I don't know
when I've ever played with us.
Speaker 5 (35:06):
That's what I'm saying, Chris.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
I did not play with a w NBA ball until
that day that I played Nancy.
Speaker 4 (35:13):
You know what I mean, Like I was like to
drive on it all there because I can obviously that
can throw off your jumper, thank you, And that's exactly
what I mean.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
I doubt that's the only reason, Chris.
Speaker 5 (35:25):
I think you would have beat you with if y'all
both you know whatever.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Chris, I was shooting, you know, like getting ready for
it and everything, and you know what I mean, you
got your touch. I'm telling you at that time I
was playing still playing basketball.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
I've never seen you hoop I got. I've hooped with
every I with Steven A, I hoop with Rick Buker.
Speaker 8 (35:46):
With.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
I mean, did you did you ever play hoop?
Speaker 5 (35:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Did you ever play? When we used to play on
the top of the Marianna, Chicago during.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
The player I never played there. Okay, when I you know,
you weren't covering the league anymore about.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
It because then I had moved on. But when I
covered the league, Chris during that time, ask those guys
we used to play on the top of the Marriotte
on Michigan Avenue.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
No, I heard about that.
Speaker 5 (36:10):
Yeah, I used to play in that, but I was
I was.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
Long gone by the time you young whippersnappers came up.
Speaker 5 (36:17):
But yeah, no, Rob.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
The only way they could do this is if they
both used their regular balls, and I'm sure.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
That would be what it was.
Speaker 5 (36:26):
I think she would beat Steph.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Who knows.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
I mean, I'm gonna tell you to loot Steph for
take if indeed he does this. I'm not gonna hate
if he does it, but he has absolutely nothing to
win by doing this.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
No nothing.
Speaker 5 (36:39):
But let me tell you her game plan. What I
would do is I would go every time he's ready
to take a.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
Shot, I'd go playoffs ten seconds, eight seven, six, and
then he won't.
Speaker 5 (36:51):
Make a shot, get up.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
That's what I mean by corny fuddy. You laugh like
it was hilarious. It wasn't fun at all. Alli came
funny because you thought it was funny. But Alex laughed.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
That's why he hit the button by mistake, because he
was doubled over.
Speaker 5 (37:10):
And that's how I hit the laugh button. Chris, Yeah,
that was right right right.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
He laughed because you thought it was funny and it
wasn't funny. But let me real, Chris, I think sometimes
Rob is just really that funny.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
I am funny, Chris.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
Give me one example. Well, it's like he just stand
up at his park. Rob G laughed, robb G.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
I love your stand up, Rob. Thank you, Chris. You
laughed at a couple of those jokes you did. Chris.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
You gotta remember everybody loves a good dad joke.
Speaker 5 (37:45):
Right, I got that.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
I don't know if those were dad.
Speaker 4 (37:47):
Those were blue, those were blue dad jokes, you know,
But uh no, I mean you will see if this happens.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
But like I said, Chris, you laughed the other day.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
Wait a minute, you left the other day at my
doc rivers typewriter.
Speaker 5 (38:01):
Sportswriters were using the typewriter. Heard on that shoke.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
That was funny that you gotta bottle that though. That
was new too.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
That was a new one I hadn't used before. That
was funny.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
Yes, I've heard all your jokes. That's the problem, thousands
of times. We got two hours left, Lockey
