so for the time being, it's just me. But is
Rob out of town? Rob G Did he go to
another town? Oh, he's at home having technical difficulties. Wow,
pay his internet bill. I was about to say that
sounded like playing hooky to me. That's sounded like the
dog game Home. I mean you at home where it
(01:37):
works every night. I mean, come on, I know man,
so we will bring him in though at some point
I think Rob G you can fill in for the

Speaker 3 (02:28):
You heard me mention hooky? That sound what what?
Speaker 4 (02:32):
You you at home having technical difficulties?
Speaker 3 (02:36):
That sounded kind of like you were playing hooky to men.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
You know how these things awork or something? I mean, nah,
you know how these things are. Sometimes they're finicky. I
do the same thing all the time. I'm always when
I'm at home, I do all the right things, and
sometimes the equipment doesn't want to work. That's why I
need to move to New Jersey.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
And then I would never have to worry about it.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
Yes, yeah, I don't have those problems here in Jersey.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
But okay, we're glad to have you here.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
And I see you have your alumni, your shirt and
on from South Carolina Tech, Southern Connecticut, Southern.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Connecticut State University. Yes, yes, all right.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
Rob, I'm a proud owl, A proud yeah owl. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
We should put that in our intro instead of the
IVY League.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Well what are you talking about?
Speaker 5 (03:28):
What? What? What league?
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Were they in?
Speaker 1 (03:30):
The South Central High School Division three Connecticut Division?
Speaker 5 (03:36):
Hey, Chris, I don't know about you, but the last
school that you go to is the one that you
always mentioned the last one? Is that true? So?
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Yes, So that's why Columbia is on the because it's
not what school you went to.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
First, is when you finished?
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Okay, that makes sense, that makes sense. I got you.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
All right, Well we've introduced the couple crew Robs, so
let's just get into this first topic. Marlon Humphrey, defensive
back for the Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Rob. I just out of nowhere.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
I mean, I guess it's he's got a history of this,
or at least has done it twice, but out of nowhere,
seemingly took a shot at Belichick.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Rob here's the tweet. Rob g read the tweet from Marlin.
Excuse me, Marlon Humphrey.
Speaker 6 (04:24):
Well, Chris, you mentioned first that that it's been multiple time.
Now go back to September. We did on the show. Actually,
he said on his podcast he was talking about the
Brady versus Belichick debate, which is not new. But he's questioned,
is Belichick lee or is it Tom Brady? That's a
million dollar question, says if this year still goes down,
is that three in a row losing seasons. It's looking
(04:45):
like some people are getting washed, all right, So that
was in September. Flash forward now to earlier this week,
actually yesterday, Dan Quinn gets the commander's job, meaning that
there are no longer any NFL head coaching vacancy's Bill
Belichick will not get hired during this current coaching cycle.
So Marlon Humphrey, for whatever reason, jumps on Twitter and
throws this out there quote, the quote unquote greatest coach
(05:08):
of all time did not get hired at his six
head coaching jobs.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Open.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
I think that debate can be put to rest.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
Now, wow, does he and he has no history with
Belichick or the Patriots besides just playing them none. Wow, Rob,
this is interesting. I mean, I don't know. Maybe he
wants a future, you know, in the media game. I mean,
obviously a lot of players have podcasts now and they're
(05:37):
on television and radio. So maybe I don't know. Is
he training for that or he's just that type of dude.
He always likes to have his opinion out there, and
so you know that's fair.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
He can say what he wants. I'm gonna throw.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
This out, Rob, as to why a player that we
can't see having any connection to Belichick might not like
Belichick or might take joy in seeing Belichick struggle, for
lack of a better word out not that he's really struggling,
but you know what I mean, like seeing him not
(06:09):
on top of the world. I guess since he has
been for so long with football. I think three things,
Rob one does. I think there are some players. I'm
not saying the majority. I'm just saying we know that
that perception out there that New England under Belichick was
no fun, right. We remember Philadelphia talking about that. We've
(06:32):
heard players say they wouldn't want to go there and
play because it's no fun. It's militaristic, so on and
so forth, So I think that's one too.
Speaker 7 (06:41):
Rob.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
I would go with.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
The fact that he would get rid of players, good players,
name players, all Pro and Pro Bowl players who had
helped him win Super Bowls, that he would get rid
of them. And the phrase was always two earls rather
than too late. Right, so they still are really good players,
but before you have to pay them, you send them packing.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Obviously that wouldn't sit well with players.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
And there Rob three, I would say the cheating scandals.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
So I think those three things.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
If there are players like seemingly a Marlon Humphrey who
disliked Belichick, want to tear him down, you know, want
to put his legacy in jeopardy, and and and cast
doubts about it, those would be the three reasons I
think that would happen.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
This is odd to me, Rob.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
It'd be one thing if he went there and you know,
they didn't think he was any good and he proved
them wrong by going to Baltimore and playing well, or
I don't know, it's possible he's got you know, friends
that played there that didn't like it or were mistreated
or whatever it might be. But it's odd. Rob because
it doesn't seem like there's a connection there for Humphrey
(07:58):
to kind of be ripping Bell.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
So those are kind of why I think it might
be happening.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
Yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Think that your strongest criticism would be when someone is winning.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
If you're making a case against somebody.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Is despite them winning, you could still point out X,
Y and Z or whatever.
Speaker 5 (08:21):
I think that's always to me.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
People could criticize me or whatever about the Tom Tom
Brady take.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
They haven't changed about, you know, the knowing.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
The defensive signals, being lucky, the situations about this. I've
been saying this for years and he's won, but I've
stayed on the same track. And my point is it's
easy when somebody who's won as much as Bill Belichick
starts to lose, and you know me, I'm not I
think Bill Belichick and the and the Patriots, anybody attached
(08:52):
to them should be overly scrutinized before they are entered
into the Hall of Fame about the cheating. I just
think that if we're going to hold people to a standard,
then they should be held to a standard as well,
and that we just shouldn't discount it or pooh pooh
it I don't. It just sounds like he's a Tom
Brady fan to me that because he doesn't that's the first.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
Tweet for sure.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
That's all. Maybe, yeah, that's all it sounds to me.
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Maybe he has a relationship with Tom Brady, maybe knows
Tom Brady. Maybe he did make contact with the Patriots
and somebody said Bill Belichick's not interested in him, or
they don't think he's this or that.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
It sounds like something of that ilk for him to
take the stance, you know what I mean. I just
think that it sounds like it's something personal or he
has a personal connection with somebody if you want to
make a case and build a case against Bill Belichick,
because they're not the only teams that have done that.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
I've said this before. The Eagles are just as bad.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
How many defensive players and people Chris Will didn't get
paid from the Eagles and different teams. I mean, you know,
I'm against it. I think it's I think it's wrong
the union shun allowed that coaches and teams can discard
people use their best five years and then not pay them,
you know what I mean, when it's their turn. I
just think that's unfair to players to ask them to
(10:18):
give their blood, sweat and tears and everything they have Chris,
so that you can win, and then you reward one
or two guys and everybody else is told, okay, you
can move on.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Let me ask you this, Rob, Do you think, let's
just say, if Belichick never coaches again, because you've you've
actually thrown out that possibility and it certainly exists because
he didn't get any of the jobs this year. Do
you think if he doesn't coach again when he clearly,
at least this year, wanted to, do you think that
(10:51):
that is a stain on his legacy? It will affect
his legacy if as time goes forward, do you think
that will affect his legacy that he was available, he
wanted a coach and nobody wanted him.
Speaker 8 (11:04):
No.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
I just think until somebody wins six Super Bowls and
kind of dethrones him from that, then maybe you might
take a look at it. If the cheating didn't taint him,
if some of the other the nine or ten years
they went without winning Chris didn't taint anything. Nobody was saying,
oh Bill Belichick's a bum. They haven't won in nine
years or ten seasons, like nobody.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
I've never heard of win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
That's what I mean.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
But I'm saying, like, still, they won those three and
then they went to La Law. It's like the Jerry Jones.
Jerry had a dynasty three out of four, but now
he didn't win for twenty eight years or whatever it is.
You look at it a little different. And then obviously
they won again. I think what works in Bill Belichick's
favor is that you know he was with the Giants
(11:52):
when they won. I think that helps him defensively, Like
his teams when they did win Chris were always top
five defenses. That's if he was an offensive coach and
he had nothing to do with the defense, I think
it would be different.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
I think I.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
Agree with you that this won't stay his legacy. But
I think the reason is because he's old. That is
an excuse. That's an excuse for a team to say, well,
of course he's a great coach. I mean, he's the goat,
so to speak. But he's seventy two or about to
be seventy two in April. Like we we we we
(12:31):
we're trying to build for a long term future. We
got a young quarterback we want the next coach.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
To be will get put out. He didn't want to
go anywhere and put it.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
So you could easily.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
And that's also rob an excuse for Belichick, Like if
he was fifty two and this was happening, even sixty
two and this was happening, then that would raise your eyebrows.
He's seventy two, so I don't think it hurts his legacy. Now,
and you and I always talk about this when you're
discussing goats, Who is the goat?
Speaker 3 (13:04):
You nitpick?
Speaker 4 (13:06):
So theoretically, Rob, I'm just gonna throw out, theoretically, hypothetically,
if Andy Reid and if he stays with Kansas City,
you would think he's gonna win some more rings. Let's
just say, hypothetically Andy Reid got to five, and now
there's a real debate as to who was better.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Was is Belichick the goat or is it Andy Reid?
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Even though Reid would not have six, then you things
you would look at Reed was very successful without Patrick
Mahomes never won a Super Bowl, but obviously was successful.
Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, these, Alex Smith, these other quarterbacks
played their best football under Reid Belichick didn't have any
(13:55):
success without his one guy, Brady, and that that's not
totally unique. Chuck, No, didn't win without Terry Bradshaw. You
know a lot of coaches Landry won with Starbuck. I
think he won one maybe with Morton before. But you know,
like a lot of coaches lost one with Montana. A
lot of coaches won with one quarterback. So but that's
(14:19):
something that would be in Read's favorite. And then if
you said, well and then nobody wanted him when he
was available.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
No, I think, I think and I don't see that
because Andy Reid was considered a big game choker until
Patrick Mahomes showed up. His history was that he didn't
win the big game and that he lost a lot.
In fact, if you look at his record before Patrick Mahomes,
it was not good.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
So it was it was getting to the NFC championship games.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
No, but they always much better than Belichick's without Brady.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
No, but I'm saying, but he always lost.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
He didn't win the Super Game, no doubt, or he
didn't get he got.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
No, he didn't get. He got there with McNabb and they.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
Lost, but they lost the NF win.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
But there is no question that Read's record without Mahomes
is way better than Belichick's.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
What I'm saying. But no, but that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Okay, reputation before which code was that he couldn't win
the big one? What was Belichick's I don't I don't know,
because he wasn't no good because he won three with.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Because he got fired.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
No, I'm saying without Brady reputation.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
I just I'm just talking about Andy Reed's rep before
that was that he did he couldn't win.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
No, I get that, but he was at least getting
to those big games, all right?
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, You're turned away

Speaker 5 (18:01):
Right, Hey, Alex, real quick.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
People are saying that they didn't believe that Rob g
What was it that they didn't believe Alex didn't know?
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Was that doctor Rivers?
Speaker 6 (18:10):
And I can tell you that what I can tell
you for a fact, yes, some of them Alex does
know because he's a smart guy.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
He's not He had no idea.
Speaker 5 (18:20):
He didn't know who Glenn Rivers.
Speaker 6 (18:22):
But if you say Doc Rivers, yes, but he had
no idea who Glenn Rivers?
Speaker 1 (18:25):
No doubt?
Speaker 5 (18:25):
All right, go.
Speaker 8 (18:26):
Ahead, gee, okay, now let's check this out. Let's start
from the beginning, Bill Belichick didn't look good in Cleveland, right,
and he really didn't look that good in England until
Bletsoe got hurt and inserted Tom Brady. Okay, Now, if
you look at the coaching trees of the two individuals
(18:49):
right that we're talking about, Andy Reid and Belichick, are
you gonna take Belichick's coaching tree? Are you gonna take
Andy Reid's coaching tree? Well?
Speaker 5 (18:58):
Wait a minute, Wait a minute, what what is Andy
Reid known for? What?
Speaker 12 (19:01):
What?
Speaker 5 (19:02):
Ha you didn't do?
Speaker 8 (19:02):
Well?
Speaker 1 (19:03):
What what side of the but no, Naggy and the
other guy?
Speaker 8 (19:07):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (19:09):
Okay, and what side is Belichick on?
Speaker 1 (19:11):
What side is we're talking about coach?
Speaker 3 (19:14):
No, I'm not, but I'm first.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
First, let me say this right now, it's not a debate.
Right now, Belichick ranks higher than red It's not even close.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Right now. Ree's only got two super bowls.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
So we're talking about if if Reed gets close, he
gets to say five discussion, right, I think he have
a strong argument.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
But yeah, we got we got fu what three super
bowls to go?
Speaker 5 (19:44):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (19:44):
And that's you know, we'll see if they even win
this one.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
So all right, right, I was gonna say, can we
get to next Sunday for first?
Speaker 12 (19:52):
Right?
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Michael in North Carolina, you're under yard couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 9 (19:55):
What's up, Michael, gentlemen, good evening. How's everybody doing tonight doing?
Speaker 3 (20:00):
How are you pretty good?
Speaker 9 (20:02):
I'm doing great? Well. Do I think Belichick is still
a great coach? I do. I don't think he's the
best coach you know of all time. I don't think
he's the goat coach anymore?
Speaker 5 (20:12):
Who is that? Who is that? I'm just curious? Who
do you think is?
Speaker 9 (20:16):
You got to go with Lombardi? I mean, he's the trophy.
The super Bowl Trophy is named after him.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
I mean, look, there's a I mean, obviously it's hard
to argue Viscelam. I mean, he won seven I think championships.
They didn't have super Bowls until his last. But Chris
and we get it.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
I mean, but the only problem is it would be
like saying Casey Stangle is the greatest baseball manager, Chris,
the Yankees were great.
Speaker 5 (20:40):
They never changed. It was no free agency, the players
never moved.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
Then, you know what I mean, like like go back
to that era that you're talking about with Vince Lombardi.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
Every year hold On got hold On.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Yeah, every year Chris, the Packers won, the Yankees won,
the Celtics won, the Montreal Canadians one.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
Because there was no you know what I mean, no
free agency. There's no movement, you know. So look like
we're not trying to shoot down Lombardy.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
I mean and Rob. Let's let's keep it real generally, when.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
We're talking about this stuff, we are kind of talking
modern right with Super Bowl NFL, we're talking Super Bowl era. Uh,
we're talking pretty much, you know. I mean, you include
Chamberlain and Russell not when they had not when they
had eight teams, just like I get we don't want
to shoot down Vincelambardi, you know.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
And in the NHL they had six teams. I mean,
and you were the Canadian.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
Right, it was so different and Rod like, once you
got your your squad, it was right.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
That is one argument for Belichick.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
That's huge for him to have a dynasty or two
what however, you want to look at it in this
era of free agency, that's.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Big with such a thick even nine years.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
Yeah, in the eighties, it wasn't even like that with Walsh, right, Bill.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Let's squeeze one more and real quick, Doctor G in Phoenix,
you're in the eye couple of Fox Sports Rader.
Speaker 5 (22:07):
What up, Doctor G.
Speaker 12 (22:09):
Hey, guys, thank you for the hundred privilege to talk
to you. Guys. I've talked to you a couple of times,
and you guys are fantastic voice of the people. We
appreciate simple equations. Belichick kept that thing together somehow, some way.
Speaker 9 (22:27):
But here's what.
Speaker 12 (22:28):
Happened to him. He was already an old, mean dude,
and when you get older, you become older and meaner.
And he started to lose his grip.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
You know.
Speaker 12 (22:37):
You know, look at the Super Bowl where bench his
best defensive back stuff like that. But he's the best
until somebody gets fired in the Super Bowl era or close.
And Andy Reid is on a great row. But we're
going to say the same thing about my home saving him.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
You know what.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I'm right, that's what you would, salt.
Speaker 4 (22:57):
That's why we said you would start looking at what
he them did without their great quarterback.
Speaker 5 (23:02):
Right, no doubt.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
But you're right, doctor Belichick is so far out in
front of everybody. I mean, like I said, Row, he's
won more than any franchise except the Steelers, I mean,
and they got the same it's not like they have
more than him, So it's just hard to to put
anyone above him. All right, it is the odd couple
Chris and Rob last night Lebron James or not last night. Today,
(23:29):
I guess took a shot Rob at the media and
we'll get into that next.
Speaker 10 (23:34):
But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at
Foxsports Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search
FSR to listen live.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
And we're gonna need to bring Rob g in here
as we continue live from the tie rack dot com studios. Now,
Lebron tweeted this, I guess what late morning, early afternoon today,
Rob G. But you know the backstory of course, Joe
l embiid we found out yesterday torn meniscus in his
(24:08):
left knee. We're gonna they're gonna continue to evaluate him
over the weekend when he's he's not playing, and they'll
determine kind of what the playing is going forward. If
he doesn't have surgery, could be four to six weeks.
If he does have surgery, it could be four to
six months and he's out for the rest of the season.
So remember that a few days ago, Joe l. Embiid
(24:34):
was being criticized by some people in the media for
not playing at Denver. And he had played against Denver
and Nokola Jokic earlier a couple of weeks ago and
just scorched Jokic forty points forty something. But he hadn't
played four years in a row and right in Denver,
so a lot of people were saying, he doesn't want
to play an alta dude, he's he's low managing, so
(24:57):
on and so forth. Comes out there clearly laboring on
his knee the other day and then.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
Tears his meniscus.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
Now, in fairness, Jonathan Kaminga landed on his knee. I
don't know if that's what did it, but that may
be what did it, which is that's that's not any
fault for him him playing. That just was a bad
situation and kind of a freakish fall. But anyway, Lebron
went at the media because of those that were criticizing
(25:28):
Mbid and the notion that Embiid was playing because he
felt that pressure of the criticism from the media. Here's
Lebron's tweet read it.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
Rob g.
Speaker 13 (25:39):
Quote weeks where where are all the media outlets, TV,
media personalities, hot takes that talk so much blank about
Joel Embiid about missing those games when he knew what
he was dealing with.
Speaker 6 (25:55):
Now he's out with an injury because of it. Not
one person has went back on TV or their dumbass
inside the Parker podcast and apologize to that man. No
accountability hashtag trash can of Moji's three.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
Of them all? Right?
Speaker 1 (26:13):
Rob Any thoughts, Yeah, Lebron, can you first call the
Philadelphia seventy sixers and asked him why he wasn't put
on the injury report and why why didn't they deem
that he had an injury so that when reporters look
and somebody's out Chris, what's the first thing you do? Oh,
he's on an injury report? Right, so I'm drawing with him? Right, Okay,
(26:35):
he's got a bad knee.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Oh's going to be critical of that?
Speaker 5 (26:38):
No one will be critical.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
It wasn't on there, So there was no reason to
believe any other reason that he wasn't playing other than
load management. The seventy sixers are at fall and they
have trainers. If he was hurt, Chris, he shouldn't have
played we said it over and over.
Speaker 10 (26:57):
They cleared.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
Kevin Durant here on this very radio show, Chris and
said it was lunacy that he was playing.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
Didn't we lunacy?
Speaker 4 (27:06):
Yep, yep, no doubt. That's a great point bringing up
during and I agree, like I think Lebron's anger or
criticism is misdirected. I think Number one Rob the first
group he should be going after the league. The league
(27:28):
fined the seventy six Ers seventy five thousand dollars for
EMBD not playing, so the league thought he wasn't hurt.
So you should ask the league, are you giving with
the same energy?
Speaker 3 (27:46):
Are you giving mb back his money?
Speaker 10 (27:49):
Right?
Speaker 4 (27:49):
Are you giving the Sixers back there seventy five thousand?
Speaker 5 (27:53):
But the league protocol because.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
He wasn't put on the injury list. That's number one.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
Number two would say, like you said, Rob, look at
the Sixers. If the Sixers, doctors and trainers knew he
was injured, why are you putting him out there?
Speaker 3 (28:10):
That's not the media's fault. Why are you putting him
out there?
Speaker 4 (28:14):
And the dude was laboring it was obvious to anybody
in fact before he got hurt. One point, he was
running underneath the basket and just stumbled because.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
His knee gave out. What what are you watching?
Speaker 4 (28:29):
If you're a trainer and you see that, why aren't
you taking him out?
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Shame on them, Chris, Shame on them giving and everything
that's going on, and want that guy out there.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
Right So that that's all I would say to Lebron
is it should be the league and then the Sixers
and the media to your point, Rob, they were just saying, well,
he wasn't on the injured report, he must be load managing.
I also think Lebron could have and maybe privately he
(29:03):
would do this.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
I don't know, but mb Joel and I said.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
This, Rob, I had.
Speaker 4 (29:10):
I talked about MBD on Thursday on First Things First,
I said, look, and I said it on our show too,
before we knew what his injury was, right, I said, look, man,
get yourself right, don't worry about making the All NBA team,
don't worry.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
About repeating as MVP.
Speaker 4 (29:28):
The most important thing for you and your career and
the Sixers at this point is for you to be
as close to one hundred percent as possible going into
the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
That's all that matters. I said.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
I don't care if you missed the next fifteen twenty games.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Get yourself right.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
So I would say to Joel, don't worry about the media, man,
don't get caught up and oh they've been criticis.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
I get it. It can be tough.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
If we saw with Ad Chris, Ad went out there
because Charles Barkley and them about being street clothed. He
hobbled out there where he had no right to even
be out there to be dressed. I criticized the Lakers
doctors for saying he was Okay, I know the player
wants to play Chris, but you.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
Gotta look at her tech protect.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
Him from himself, and they didn't.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Do that right, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
So I just think that, Yeah, there were guys in
the media criticizing him, but apparently the Sixers thought he
was fining to play, the league thought he was fining
to play.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
What is the media supposed to think?
Speaker 4 (30:34):
Low management is a real thing now, So if the
media went at him and criticized him, you know, they
were just going off the information they had. Just I
just think the Angers misplaced Rob. That's what I feel.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
And the other thing to Chris, the four straight games
is a pattern in Denver.
Speaker 5 (30:53):
So it looks like, you know what I mean, Like,
that's not.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
You don't want to play up there in that air.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Yeah, I mean that's what it looks like, like, Oh,
every time he comes in, you don't want to play
here in Denver. So he takes that night of his
scheduled day off in Denver. No matter what time of
the year, they're.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
Playing, right right, no, no doubt about it.
Speaker 4 (31:11):
All right, it's the Eye Couple Chris and Rob on
a funky flashback Friday Man a legend, a sports movie legend.
Let's call it that die today and uh it's it's
sad because I really really love this character. All right,
that's next a couple Chris and Rob Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 10 (31:34):

All right, it's time y'all for Shekel City.
Speaker 10 (32:16):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parkers Day,
Dicks against the Scrap.
Speaker 5 (32:28):
All right, here we go, Little Shekel City. Two and one.
Last night, the Lakers my best bet.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Carrid a bad feeling about that movie we did.
Speaker 5 (32:37):
I mean you kind of like, really.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
That's a lot of points, it is.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
But tonight, Chris, I'm going for this is the Underdog
Special all three games. I'm taking all three underdogs, not
to win.
Speaker 5 (32:52):
But to cover.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
So the best bet I'm taking Charlotte plus fifteen and
a half in Oklahoma City. You got me, that's the
best bet, Charlotte the Horners plus fifteen and a half.
They lose by double digits, Chris, but not by sixteen.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (33:11):
Golden State's in Memphis. I know Memphis is bad.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
It's Memphis plus seven and a half Golden State.
Speaker 5 (33:23):
On the road.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
I'm gonna take Memphis plus seven and a half. Again
Golden State wins like that. You don't like that one, Okay?
And the last one, Denver is hosting Portland. Chris, Denver
is minus thirteen and a half. I'm gonna take Portland
plus thirteen and a half, just a lot of points, right,
(33:46):
And Portland just beat Milwaukee the other night, Chris, I
mean when Dame Dollars showed a James homecoming, right, I
mean they ruined that. I'm not saying they're gonna I'm
not saying they're gonna win. I just decided to go
even with the Golden State game. There what twenty and
twenty four. They'll win, but they haven't been that impressive.
(34:09):
And that's the sometimes in order to win a hat
trick and win three, Christ, you need to have a
funky pick. That's my funky pick.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
So there you go.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Again, Portland plus thirteen and a half, Memphis plus seven
and a half, and Charlotte plus fifteen and a half points.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
And remember, go ahead.
Speaker 5 (34:26):
And remember I'm not telling you who to bet on.
Go ahead, finish it.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
I'm not telling you who I bet on.
Speaker 5 (34:36):
There you go, all right?
Speaker 4 (34:38):
Rob Carl Weathers, who wasn't an NFL football player, but
really became a household name, or at least his character
became a household name when he played Apollo Creed in
the Rocky movies. He was killed in Rocky four, so
(35:03):
he was a star at the end of Rocky one,
was a clear star co star in Rocky two and
Rocky three, and then was killed off when he lost
the fight to Ivan Drago in Rocky four and rob
I mean, you know, he did some other movies. You know,
they tried to play off that, but that's what he's doing.
(35:25):
It's it's really like Henry Winkler and the Fines, right.
Winkler did has done some other stuff, but he he
will always be associated with the Fines.
Speaker 5 (35:34):
And I always wonder about people, Yeah who who he died? Yeah,
he died today. Could you get type cats? You know
what I mean?
Speaker 1 (35:44):
And you can't do any other role. So I understand
why people push away from that. But in that iconic role,
I don't think it's the end of the world. He
only played eight games in the NFL, uh for the Raiders, okay,
and he played in the Well that's a good commaitian.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
Would you rather be somebody that's interesting?
Speaker 4 (36:06):
I mean, obviously you'd want to be a Denzel Washington
Harrison Ford Harrison.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
For people just like like you just said, Henry Winkler, Dude,
I you'll never get out of the funds. But my god,
what an iconic you'll always be.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
I gotta be honest.
Speaker 4 (36:23):
I think I want to be you want to play
somebody icony and I get there in the moment, they're
probably like, man, I can do other things. I can
you know what I mean, I can do I can
do other roles. But like you said, I mean to
be that iconic and Rocky obviously was able to do
other things Rambo, but he wrote his own stuff.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
That's that's how he was able to be all the movies, right.
What a lot of a lot of actors get type cast.
I remember Bert war I mean, uh, the Batman character
in the old sixties, Adam West.
Speaker 5 (36:59):
Adam West. He couldn't get a job after that Batman.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
Interesting because it wasn't like you were seeing his face.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
No, But people, was he a kid actor?
Speaker 12 (37:08):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (37:08):
Was he a good actor?
Speaker 1 (37:09):
I had done like the Perry Mason and done stuff
in the sixties, But I just think that he was
type casts Batman. People like that's that goofy guy from Batman,
and they didn't want him in the movie.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
So he struggled and a lot of people.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
But you're right, William Shatner had more roles Chris than
Captain Kirk.
Speaker 5 (37:28):
Right. That was an iconic role.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
Yeah, he had a little resurgence.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
TJ.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
Hooker, right, Yeah, yeah, I thought he had. Did he
have another role he became?
Speaker 4 (37:38):
Well he had those common lawyers in Boston I can't remember. Yeah,
that was a Boston law Boston league la. It was
something lost. Yeah, and he did that was to me,
that was kind of his resurgence.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
Right, But you're right, you do.
Speaker 4 (37:52):
I mean it's a credit because you played that role
so well.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
But I get in the moment, you're like, you want
to do other things.
Speaker 4 (37:59):
But Apollo Creed was you know, obviously it was a
character based off Muhammad Ali, you know, very braggadocious and you.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
Know, yeah, it was incredible. Man, it was incredible. I
used to pull.
Speaker 4 (38:14):
I knew he was gonna lose, but I used to
pull for Apollo Creed in those fights.
Speaker 5 (38:18):
No shock.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
Back then. It was like, man, you pull it for
the brothers. It was so.
Speaker 5 (38:29):
And wrestling Junkyard that was my guy.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
It was. That's how it was, man, all right, keep
it locked
