Our man Lamar Mitchell here on tonight at the bottom
of the hour.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Is this his last appearance this season?
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Yes, it is Super Bowl Week.
Speaker 5 (00:43):
I saw a bar Chris in the walking around in
the lobby of the Mandalay Bay.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
I know it was just parting like the Red Sea
when you walk through.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
You know, you know how big he is.
Speaker 5 (00:53):
And yeah, we just saw him at my birthday party,
so we'll get to see him again for a second time.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
So that's cool.
Speaker 6 (00:59):
What I saw by the elevators, they stopped Cam Newton
and they said, hold on, that's you're kind of cool.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
All right, Well, we'll have Lamar in about twenty five
minutes or so.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
But until then, Rob, let's keep talking super Bowl. I
want to throw.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Something at you because I think there are a lot
of intriguing storylines this season, in this game, like even
historically impactful storylines, And so I would want to ask you,
in your view, what would be, let's say, the best
storyline on Sunday, Like, what could happen that you think
(01:44):
would be the best story.
Speaker 5 (01:48):
Well, I mean there's two from the forty nine ers standpoint, obviously.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
The Brock Purty story. And I'm not lying.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
I've been in the elevator and just hearing Chris casual
fans like just talking, and you know, people are just
when they're around the Super Bowl, people are like, oh
who you got?
Speaker 1 (02:08):
You know who you got? And I heard three different
people on three.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
Different elevator trips say, oh, I want to see Brock Party,
who's mister Irrelevant win the super Bowl? Like really, like
three random conversations where I'm not even in them. They
didn't ask me, you know, I'm just standing there. So
that that definitely is is a storyline.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
About Brock Party.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
Okay, Now Shanahan is another one.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
He needs a validation.
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Yep, he desperately like getting here again, and if they lose,
it's like, Okay, you can't win the big One, Like
it will be that kind of narrative. So for him,
it would be a validation, Chris of the genius title,
everything they've said about him. Finally got there, got to
(03:01):
the mountain top, the demons of not being able to
come back. He did it twice right after being oh
and thirty and thirty one and Nanny. He puts an
explanation point by finally winning the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yep, yep.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
So those are two stories actually, and obviously Patrick Mahomes
if they win, they would be three. Three would be
three and one. You know that that's another storyline. I
would pick that below these two because those other twos
they haven't won. Patrick has won. Patrick, But those would
be probably my three biggest stories, Chris. If I looked
(03:41):
at the Super Bowl in that order.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
I U I would put number one to me is
rock perty. Now I agree with you on that, right, Like,
I mean, come on, mister irrelevant, And it's interesting because.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Maybe it's rob I can't exactly.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Remember what the coverage was like at the time of
Kurt Warner because Warner was lower, he was worse than
mister irrelevant. I mean he was.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
It wasn't for them talking about it like this, Chris,
I gotta.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Admit, I mean, what was it had to be?
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I agree that I don't think he was getting the
quote unquote negative press so to speak, that Perty's getting right,
But there had to be talk about, man, this guy's
come out of nowhere. He was in the arenaly you
know what I mean? Like there had to be some
of that. But look, it was a different day. What
was it, nineteen ninety nine. Remember the Internet wasn't as ubiquitous.
(04:39):
You didn't have all the sports talk shows on TV.
You know, most weren't national. Yeah, so it probably that
has something to do with it. So I but I
think becoming the first mister Irrelevant to win a Super
Bowl doing it against Rob the guy that almost unanimously
(05:03):
is viewed as the best player in the world and
to many the best quarterback ever, even though you know
not no one would say he's the goat right now.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
It's kind of like you always say about Eli.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
I mean, Eli beats beat Tom Brady twice, like that
did add to the legend of Eli that get away
from him?
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Right?
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Had that been I don't know, Jay Cutler or something
that he beat in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
You know, it wouldn't have been as big of a deal.
Speaker 7 (05:32):
You know.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
So I do think that and all the polarizing views
about him, those that love him, those that hate him,
and Rob if he were to win, I mean, he
would be.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
You know those I mean.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
And it's not just it's not people that don't know
what they're talking about necessarily saying he's comparing him to
Joe Montana. I'm not saying that comparisons are correct. I'm
not saying they're not, like you know what I mean,
not random fans. You got Jerry Rice talking about that
and others. So it's interesting because those comparisons would begin
(06:09):
in earnest and then Rob. Remember the catch that Joe
Montana is so famous for in Dwight Clark who made
the catch that if they don't win that Super Bowl,
because that was in the NFC championship game, if they
don't win that Super Bowl two weeks later, it's I
don't know if it's a week later or two weeks
(06:30):
later at that point, but whenever the next game, it's
not that that play from the championship in the NFC
doesn't become legendary and so make does this if they
were to win the Super Bowl the Niners, does that
elevate what brock Perty did against Green Bay in Detroit?
Speaker 5 (06:50):
Yeah, I mean so, because it would be a legendary. Yeah,
it would be a legendary journey. Chris, and he was
the one that find god Shanahan off the schneid as
far as coming back right.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
The other quarterbacks couldn't do it.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
Shanahan turns to goo in the fourth quarter offensively in big.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Games, and brock Perty was able to make it happen.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Yeah, it would be huge for brock I mean, you
can't overstate how big it would be.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
You really can't.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
So that's number one where I disagree with you would
be I would say that number two, I would.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Put Mahomes ahead of Shanahan. And I get it.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
I don't want to, you know, be little the achievement
for Shanahan if indeed he does win the Super Bowl,
because you know, you can talk about him as a
great offensive mind all you want, but you can't throw
out the genius word, which people do, unless he wins
the Super Bowl, you know, I mean a lot of
(07:54):
people can. Josh McDaniel was a great offensive coordinator, but
nobody's viewing him as a genius because he failed as
a coach, and Shanahan has not failed as a coach.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
He's been a good coach, a very good one. But
you have to be it.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
You can't melt down, you can't get nervous, you can't
get tight and choke in the biggest moments. So I
do think it would be big for him, But I'm
gonna go with Mahomes as bigger Rob because, like you said,
it would make him three and one for a lot
of people, myself included. It will put him ahead of
(08:28):
Joe Montana.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
And I do think I feel like I would not say.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I wouldn't even think about making an argument for him
being the goat if he goes three and one.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
I think most people feel the same way.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
But Rob, I do think there would be some maybe
prisoners of the moment, whatever you want to call him.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
I do think.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
There'd be a few people on television calling him the goat.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
Yeah, I'm not convinced of that. I think there's too.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
I would disagree with, you know, with people doing that, but.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
I would be I would be surprised if if that
was the case to be honest, even though it would
between him one, he's two, hasred ways to go, and
it's not like.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Brady was four and one or you know, like.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
Right, no, seven, that's a big on your halfway there,
right he not even I just people might say it.
But if they throw Tom Brady to the side that
quickly after seven, right, it's not he just retired, right,
that would be shocking to me.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
I would think it would be.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
I wouldn't want to hear somebody make that argument, but
I just feel like a few might say that. But
then I think what it does, Rob is it opens
up the possibility at least of him three people and
him and Andy Reid three peat, which has never been
done in the NFL. So I think that adds to
the storyline. And that's that's all why. And I also
(09:58):
think there'd be a mistique just like just like people
are picking them almost unanimously to beat you know, we're
talking about pundits to beat can San Francisco, even though
they didn't have a great regular season. That's because of
the Mahomes mistique that he's that they've.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Seen in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
And if they win this super Bowl after a year
where they didn't play well, and he didn't have any
really good wide receivers. I just think there will be
a mistique about him, kind.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Of like.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Brady.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Well, I think would it be like what was attached
to Brady after he won, like number six or something
like that, you know, where it just became like he
became this legend, this living legend. I agree, Rob, this
would be one. This would be a super.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Bowl win like Brady's first couple, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
It was the defense and he just kind of managed
the game, maybe made a big play here or there.
But I think because we've seen him do it in
spectacular before, it's you know, it's nobody's gonna hold that
against me.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
You know, yeah, it's gonna be It's gonna be interesting.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
There's so many things on the line too, And obviously
we're talking about you know, if he loses, how does
that alter the way you look at him?
Speaker 1 (11:18):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (11:19):
Like, yeah, like say he has a bad day at
the office, I'm just throwing it out. And now Chris,
instead of five touchdowns four picks, he has uh five
touchdowns and six picks, you know what I mean, Like
he doesn't he doesn't play well, or five and five
and he's two and two in the super Bowl, or
and and it just got beat by mister irrelevant. I
(11:41):
think that I think people table the go.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Talk for a little bit. Yeah, I mean it would table.
And I'm not saying you're right it would.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Down, No, it would.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
It would have to.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
It would have to, like I totally agree, And it
might only be a year or two before picks up again.
But yes, you would have to slow that down.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
And there's no question about it.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
And you know, it depends, like if he plays up
pretty well and they lose, that's different than if they
if he stinks up the joint and like you said,
it throws one touchdown three picks or something like that.
You know, you know, in different ways. But yeah, I agree,
it would hold. It will put the gold talk on
hold for a while. There's no question about.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
It, all right.
Speaker 3 (12:31):

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Your thoughts all?
Speaker 7 (15:36):
Right?
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Here we go, Chris.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
We got a lot of people ready to jump in
on this one. Let's kick it off with Drey and Michigan. Drey,
you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, dudes?
Speaker 10 (15:46):
What's going on? Fellas?
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Are you? What's up?
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Man?
Speaker 10 (15:48):
I'm good. I'm good man. Shout out for that Merril
Hodge interview yesterday. I respect that respectful pushback y'all gave him.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Yeah, Nah, I wouldn't necessarily put I was interested in
what he was saying.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
We asked questions, right.
Speaker 10 (16:04):
That's right, That's what I'm saying. You know, you kind
of pushed him on that. How you how you don't know?
I can see that that football does have an effect
on some of those injuries. I just appreciate how y'all
handled that. That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
Yeah, we always talk about that. You got to have
both sides of the story.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
That's right, right, right, right correct.
Speaker 10 (16:22):
But to me, I think I want to I say
Pat Mahone reason why I say Pat Mahone winning is because, uh,
party would be a good story. But this would make
Pat mahone a legend. You know what I'm saying, Because.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Don't you think he's already a legend.
Speaker 10 (16:36):
I mean that dynasty He would be that in that
dynasty round because he got three and five years and
then with the team that he had this year, lost
your offensive coordinator, wide receivers weren't the best, but you
still pulled it off.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
But I hear you.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
But for a guy who nobody all year counted out,
this discounted mister irrelevant from to win the Super Ball
over over Patrick Mahomes, I think that's a bigger story.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
I know, my whole story is huge, but yeah, this
would be that's a big story.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
You're kidding.
Speaker 10 (17:10):
But with the whole Kurt Warner thing, Kirk Warner went
from not even being drafted, So I don't know, but.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
I get that.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
But he didn't beat he But Kirk Warner didn't beat
the quarterback who people are thinking on the on the
on the on the trail, Chris of being the goat.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
But you know what I mean, Like, that's not who
he be.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
And I mean, you're right that Warner was lower and
that he wasn't drafted, But there is something about being
mister relevant and.
Speaker 5 (17:37):
Kirk that year, Chris, you know what I mean, Like,
it doesn't mean that the Mahome story isn't big. I
just think of brock Perty's left standing over instead of
Patrick Mahomes on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
That's a huge story.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
Yeah, Mike in Portland, you're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 11 (17:58):
What's up, Mike, Chris, Rob, How we doing Friday night?
Super Bowl Week?
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Weird?
Speaker 11 (18:07):
I'm doing just fine, im Portland. Look, ninety five percent
of America will tell you this the biggest story because
guess what, we don't care about the Chiefs and we
don't care about the Niners, So who wins is kind
of irrelevant. Speaking of that, mister irrelevant, you just talked
about brock Purty. There, he's already won. He's in the
Super Bowl, right, he's relevant. I mean, he's the opposite.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
No, no, no.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
I disagreed, because I'll tell you this, if he has
a bad game like he had against the Ravens. That'll
change the narrative on Brock Party. Chris, wouldn't it.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
Yeah, I mean, he didn't have to play great, but
he can't horribly. Yeah, there's no doubt about it. There
is no doubt about it.
Speaker 11 (18:47):
He's already proved all the draft experts. Sorry, guys, he's
already proved all the talking heads wrong for being mister irrelevant. Okay,
I mean, I hear you.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
But he's still getting disrespected by a lot of people,
right despite the season he had, And then if he
has a stinker in the super Bowl, all those people
will say, what Chris, I told you, I told you
he can't win the big game?
Speaker 7 (19:11):
Right?
Speaker 11 (19:12):
We can agree that. We can agree that on that one.
Here's here's my main point though, it's how you construct
the team.
Speaker 10 (19:19):
Do you put two.
Speaker 11 (19:20):
Hundred and fifty million dollars into your quarterback and say
he's gonna elevate and make everybody around him offense, defense,
special team is better because he's that good Patrick Mahomes?
Or do you draft miss or irrelevant and put too
much talent around him to fail? I think that's the story, guys, will.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
That were but we've seen that story. The Rams did.
Speaker 5 (19:43):
The Rams paid Matthew Stafford and paid everybody and said
f the picks, and they won a super Bowl. There
isn't one path to a super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
Well, no, that's a good that's a good point. But
nobody's really done this path.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Rob, I like this, but I'm.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Just saying I think the only way you can win
is what about doesn't make it.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
I mean, Mahomes is winning.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
You know, he's getting paid, so yeah, getting other ways,
but this is a different way, and if they win it,
it will speak to at least another way to do it,
you know.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
No doubt.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
Bob in Ontario, California, you're on the odd couple five
sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (20:22):
Chris and Rob, thank you so much for taking my call. Now,
I can't in any way take credit for this headline,
but this is a very selfish layer for me. This
is twenty twenty four, and this is Super Bowl fifty eight.
One of the greatest to ever lace up the cleats
is outside linebacker Derek Thomas, yes, number fifty eight, who
(20:46):
we lost in untimely fashioned Yes, twenty four years ago,
and this is twenty twenty four. So my hope is
they will win a factor back Super Bowl so they
could celebrate one of my all time favorites. So one
back to the PCR days where I was taking those
defenses and studying this man because I was playing outside linebacker.
(21:09):
I hope they could celebrate this sit Derek Thomas since weekend.
Speaker 5 (21:13):
All right, Bob, that's a nice message there, And we
always know, Chris. The one thing that every time people
try to tie stuff to, you know, situations. If you
remember when Hurricane Katrina, everybody wanted the Saints to win,
did not happen nine to eleven with the Yankees, everybody
wanted the Yankees to win for New York did not happen.
(21:35):
Arizona one. It doesn't always line up like that, but
that's a nice thought, right right, Mike, Yeah, Mike and Washington,
you're in the odd couple.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Fox Sports twelve.
Speaker 12 (21:46):
What's up, pretty, I mean, gentlemen, thank you again for
taking my call. Appreciated it, I guys, yes, sir. Oday
Number one is if you haven't noticed the headlines, there
is very low. But if you've noticed, the enemy has
been being brought back by Reid creeping around in the
background giving.
Speaker 11 (22:05):
Pep talks and speeches to.
Speaker 12 (22:07):
The players and everything. So is the enemy in the background,
drawing up some plays, looking at film and bypassing Naggy
and giving re Andy some plays. Number two is is
Shanahan's butthole gonna puck her up in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
And blow the.
Speaker 12 (22:28):
Game because it gets too tight? And then he gets
too tight.
Speaker 5 (22:32):
Mike, Hey, what you're saying does exhibit A, B, and C.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
So it's hard to argue with you.
Speaker 5 (22:38):
I mean, things haven't gone right when the tough gets going, Chris,
they just haven't.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
No, no doubt about that. That's that's what Shanahan. That's
why you add his story is the second biggest right
because he does have to, you know, prove he can
win the big game.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Know if sands or butts about it. All right, our
man Lamar.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Now looking right at Lamar Mitchell right now, he's Readyga.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
I'm about to call up the zoom so I can
see him. But he'll join us in a moment. But
first our man steve the Sega with the upda.
Speaker 13 (23:09):
See, let's get to the NBA scoreboard. A dominant third
quarter at Boston for the Celtics to take the lead
on Washington, and now it's seven minutes to go. It's
Celtics one fourteen one oh one in the league. Jason

Speaker 3 (25:58):
I'm looking at the bet GM director of Trading.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
You know who it is. When the music starts playing.
I heard he's walking around.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Vegas and the people are partying like the Red Sea.
Cam Newton is bowing down among others. I don't mean
to embarrass my man. It is the Great Lamar Mitchell, Lamar,
what up? Man?
Speaker 1 (26:29):
What up?
Speaker 4 (26:30):
Chris?
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Good dad him for not being here? Lamar. You know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (26:35):
Like, I'm here in person to see my man Rob
g and I we rubbing hands, kitching babies. We're in
Las Vegas and Chris is in New Jersey on exit seventeen.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
Chris, we're missing you all the fun.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
I wish I could be there.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
I got some TV obligations in NYC. But I'm with
you guys in spirit, believe me. So are you ready
for a Super Bowl Sunday?
Speaker 4 (27:01):
Lamar As I was just talking to Rob.
Speaker 14 (27:03):
We're ready to get this rolling and get this party
going and see what happens on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
All right, well, let's get it started, all right.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
The Niners opened this two and a half point consistent
favorites over the Chiefs, and that line has since settled
in at minus two. Now still for the Niners, that
bet in GM was that sharp or public money that
caused the movement.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
That was definitely sharp money that caused the move.
Speaker 14 (27:29):
As you see, when we opened it went down immediately.
We had some sharp players. We didn't have any six
figure bets. Immediately moved the number, and uh, basically once
to get down to one, we started seeing some six
figure bets on the on the Niners, and that caused
us to move back to the market.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Move the market back absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Let me ask you this quick, if I can follow
up frop I have felt. I was surprised, Lamar that
the Niners were favored. Uh, the Chiefs of Obby's look
better in the playoffs. They have the legendary quarterback and
head coach. Why why are the Niners favorites? Were at Yeah.
Speaker 14 (28:11):
We were talking about this all week and this past
week before that. The Niners come from obviously the NFC conference.
In that conference, they are the cream, the la cream
of that conference. And when we had this matchup Niners
versus anybody in the AFC in the middle of the year,
when the Niners looked like world beaters, the NFC was
actually about a five point favorite. Now with the way
(28:32):
how the Niners looked in the playoffs and the fact
that the Chiefs didn't back up, they're they're into the
bargain by being the top seed in the conference. That's
why the line came down a little bit, because the
way Kansas City has played in the playoffs against you know,
Lamar Jackson, and against Josha Allen and against Tua. So earlier,
(28:54):
like I said, the line would have been higher. But
because the way how Kansas City's played and the Niners
have played, that's why the Niners are two point favorite.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
And we talk about all the time too.
Speaker 5 (29:04):
I say it to Chris, but when you guys set
the lines, you're trying to get a number that both
sides are gonna bet correct, correct, and that you don't
want all the money seventy five percent of money go
to one team and then if they cover the spread
of way, you're gonna get killed.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
That's called gambling.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
We don't want to do that. That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
They want you to do it, but not right.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
They're gonna make money if the dream scenario is equal
money on both sides and they win big am I right,
you're right.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
You win percent right, Rob. We're at the Magdalay Bay
all week.
Speaker 15 (29:34):
It is a massive Chris Hell, I say, do not
building if people are winning exactly, And I told somebody earlier,
I said, I don't know what the air conditioning bill
is in this place, but it's gotta be enormous, Chris,
because this place is massive solar.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
We use solar, so uh you know, we're clean energy
in this place.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
Very nice, all right?
Speaker 5 (29:54):
I read this week that the betting favorite has won
thirty six of the fifty seven Super Bowls. Outright, But
when it comes to the spread, it's almost fifty to fifty.
Are you seeing more action on these teams outright opposed
to against the spread?
Speaker 14 (30:08):
Well, what we typically see in this game every year
when the matchup comes up, we always see the public
betting on the underdog, and that's been the case here
right now. When you look at the outright win on
the money line, the Chiefs are about three to one
in favor of transactions and about.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Two to one in money.
Speaker 14 (30:26):
When you think it's only minus one thirty, that's not
a big price to lay for the forty nine ers.
But everyone's betting on Patrick Mahomes. Like I said, three
to one on that clip, And when you look at
the side points spread, you know Patrick Mahomes is ten
to one and one as an underdog. So even though
the tickets are in favor of the Chiefs slightly almost
(30:48):
two to one, not that close, but they're still betting
on the Chiefs all right.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
So Mahomes is nine to three outright as an underdog
in his career.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
That's time. I still would take Eli Manning over him
in a Super Bowl game. But that's another story.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
Yeah, I would not for the record, Lamar, But that's
a big reason why, you know, most analysts are picking
the Chiefs as an odds maker. When you see a
stat like that nine and three outright as an underdog,
does that impact how you set the learne?
Speaker 14 (31:21):
It impacts it when it's definitely somebody like Tom Brady
or Patrick Mahomes. Obviously, when you know you have teams
that have constantly been favorites, you're looking at it, well, hey,
we can't give this guy too many points because the
public's gonna jump all over that and we're gonna be
one sided on that side. So we try to make
sure it's gonna Like Rob said earlier, we try to
(31:41):
make sure that the line is settles in so we
get good two way. But we do take an account
what that guy's record is as an underdog, especially these
guys that we consider the goats.
Speaker 5 (31:52):
I saw a competing sports book say this week that
the Niners winning by one point would be the worst
possible outcome. Do you, guys that bet MGM have numbers
that you're openly rooting for, you know, or against on Sunday? Like,
is there some number you're like, oh my god, anything
but this yeah?
Speaker 4 (32:11):
Absolutely right now?
Speaker 14 (32:12):
Because we are pretty balanced, right now, Niners winning and
covering the spread is actually good our best case scenario
if Niners win and it goes over. Chiefs winning and
going over is our worst case scenario. But it's still early.
I mean, it's not a huge figure for us right now.
Speaker 5 (32:30):
Now, yeah, but people coming this weekend, they're starting to
fill up.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
It'll be right.
Speaker 14 (32:34):
And like I said earlier, we are taking six figure
bets on one side and then we're getting another six
figures on the other side.
Speaker 4 (32:40):
So it's washing out.
Speaker 14 (32:42):
But right now, basically in the early part of this weekend,
Chiefs and over is our worst case scenario.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
If the Chiefs win outright.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
All right, The Chiefs entered the playoffs round about ten
to one to win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Those are their longest odds of the season.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
The flip side, though, the Niners were the consistent Super
Bowl favorites when the playoffs began. How big of a
swing would it be if you get for you guys,
if Kansas City wins compared to if San Francisco wins.
Speaker 14 (33:13):
Be a huge wing, Believe it or not, Because heading
into this game, we were looking for the AFC, either
Team Baltimore or Kansas City to beat the NFC or opponent,
and we were long in Detroit and we were long
with San Francisco.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Luckily, I know you were.
Speaker 5 (33:30):
Happy that the Lions didn't win because that a lot
of people put a lot of money on the line.
Speaker 14 (33:34):
A lot, and you know their odds were so high
at the beginning of the year, so we were happy.
So in this situation, we're definitely in the future book.
Kansas City is the best case scenario for us. So
even if we lose a game and it's a small
figure for the game, we pick up a nice chunk
of change on the future book for Kansas City.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Nice.
Speaker 5 (33:51):
All right, Before we let you go, I got to
ask you about the props.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
I walked through the sports book this.
Speaker 5 (33:57):
Week and they had an entire booklet props for betters
to choose from. How big of a deal are prop
bets for you guys during the Super Bowl? And the
one that always stands out to me was a safety
on the first play? Do you remember that with Peyton
manning that that was a prop bet?
Speaker 1 (34:16):
Wasn't it?
Speaker 4 (34:16):
It was?
Speaker 1 (34:17):
It was the score of the.
Speaker 4 (34:18):
Game was a safety?
Speaker 1 (34:20):
That was it?
Speaker 4 (34:20):
Right?
Speaker 1 (34:21):
And it was unbelievable. I couldn't believe it.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
Yeah, you're right, it's the prop bets, believe it or not.
Speaker 14 (34:26):
I think as far as the number of transactions, obviously
we get more transaction on the prop bets. I'd say
about sixty percent of our action is for you by
the prop bets. And going back to that safety you
were talking about, we were just talking about this earlier.
One of the customers that I know bet that for
ten thousand, one hundred thousand on that problem. Oh my god,
(34:49):
happened and I saw him up in the skybox just
screaming for joy.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
So yeah, these prop betsy.
Speaker 1 (34:54):
What is the chance of a safety?
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Right?
Speaker 7 (34:57):
Never?
Speaker 1 (34:58):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (34:59):
They're so yeah, we'll make your dollars.
Speaker 5 (35:02):
I remember watching that game and knowing that there was
a prop bet for that, and I couldn't believe it.
Speaker 14 (35:07):
Right, and the guy he was you should have seen
him upstairs. I mean, I couldn't say I could explain
how happy he was that he won that ten thousand dollars.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
That's a lot of my money, but.
Speaker 5 (35:19):
Ten thousand to turn it into one hundred thousand, I
would walk out. I don't care what the score again,
where's my money? I'm out of here?
Speaker 1 (35:26):
Wow? All right?
Speaker 3 (35:27):
But that is our man, Lamar Mitchel, Lamar, this is
man A review of the season. Man, it went too fast.
It was a great season. It was great to see you,
at least for me. Rob is seeing you this weekend,
I know, or this week, but it was great to
see you a few weeks ago at Rob's party, and
hopefully I will see you.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
My wife and I will.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Get out there to Vegas before next season and we'll
definitely see you.

All right, Rob, we we're wrapping up. You and I
(37:06):
both have picked the Niners, and you're picking them to
win by a nice margin.
Speaker 5 (37:13):
I got it as ten Chris as a seven point
game and a late field goal to ice to game,
so it's not a blowout. I don't have Tom up
fourteen to nothing, you know what I mean like that.
I'll have it like a close game and then a
late field goal to give them the margin. And I
(37:33):
told you before when I picked the Saints right over
the coach, they were winning by seven and then they
got a late pick six at the end to win
by fourteen.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
I look, the Niners have come back.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
There are two playoff games, so you can't ever say
they couldn't rally, especially the way they did against Detroit. Yeah,
that was it, right that I thought that thing was
over for sure. But so I just want you to
say that it's hard to imagine coming back on Kansas
(38:09):
City like that.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
So I tell you what.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
If Kansas City opens up the way it did against Baltimore,
and I mean even like because they were only up
fourteen to seven, right, But I mean if they, like
Saint San Francisco, gets the ball first, they get shut
down in a series or two, and then the Chiefs
(38:35):
march down the field on them and score and then
stop them again, and then march down and score again
to go up say fourteen. Oh, I think it'll be
tough sledding for San Francisco.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
I don't think they want to be down by two scores.
Speaker 5 (38:50):
Is Kansas City was shut out in the second half
against Baltimore, and you know, whether it was the game
plan or whatever it was, you know you want to
score and make it a little tougher. That's what scares
me a little bit about Kansas City and the firepower.
And if they get up to get into a shootout,
you know, like if well.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
You mentioned I mean, I think all of us feel
like Mahomes can obviously win a shootout, but.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
I'm look his receivers.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
Rob I said this on First Things First today because
obviously Nick Wright saying that they said the receivers have
fixed their problem. I said, hold up, when Yannie hit
seventeen to nineteen free throws in that finals game, did
that mean his free throws were no longer concerned Bingo,
NVS drops passes, mkol Hartvin makes mistakes like they could
(39:46):
easily make more mistakes in this game.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
And that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (39:49):
That's the scary part about the Chiefs, Chris, is that
they could they could revert to that team, you know
what I mean, like they could.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
Yeah, I mean, look Kelsey and he's had a few drops,
so you're not worried about Kelsey.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
And now that'll be interesting to me how.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
How the Niners do against Kelsey Because with all to
talk about, Mahomes kept believing in these receivers and they've
rewarded in me. Yeah, MVS may has made some big
catches in the playoffs, but he's still going largely to
Kelsey and Rashi Rice. And if they can take I'm
(40:28):
not that worried about Rashi Rice, but if they can
just limit Kelsey, now it becomes a whole different ballgame
for Kansas City. And it'll be interesting to see, you know,
how the Niners do that or attempt to do that. So,
Rob g did you have something to say about the
NFL pigs can pick off?
Speaker 6 (40:49):
I did you know this is the last game. I
wanted to say, this counts for ten points? Yes, so
sue it just so we can have some competition. But
shout out, it's it's over for winning the fifth.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
I won three and he won two.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
But haven't I did three?
Speaker 16 (41:03):
Okay, so that's that was the year he lost my number.
I don't need to ask you who you're picking. You're
on record both picking the Niners. However, as Lamar said,
the big thing is against the spread. That's where the
money gets made.
Speaker 6 (41:15):
Anyone can pick a game out right, but if you
pick money and beat Lamar Mitchell, who is one of
the best in.
Speaker 4 (41:19):
The business, that's how you make money. The spread at
bet MGM is Niners minus two.
Speaker 5 (41:24):
Rob Parker, Yeah, I'm taking the Niners minus yeah two.
They'll win by more than three absolutely.
Speaker 1 (41:30):
Chris bar Yeah, I go with that.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
My pick is twenty eight, twenty.
Speaker 5 (41:33):
Four, twenty eight, twenty four, okay, four point game. I'm
gonna say thirty one twenty one.
Speaker 6 (41:40):
Wow, thirty scores that much against the Chiefs thirty one.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
It all comes undone.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
All right, y'all, have a great weekend. We out
