Speaker 1 (01:45):
You know what was weird last night? So I have
this Google TV in my bedroom, which I not Google.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
That's what you watched, Golden Girls, Adams Family.

Speaker 6 (02:05):
Card fifty four was on last night.

Speaker 8 (02:07):
But anyway, what was shocking to me was, so I
go on there and I'm looking just like I'm a
novice at the whole.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
I don't even know is that an app? Is that
a streaming?

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Like?

Speaker 6 (02:22):
Yeah, streaming app? So you're starting to stream? Yeah, I'm
starting to stream like you. Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
So so so I was like, okay, so I put
it on.

Speaker 6 (02:30):
I start looking around and guess what they recommended for
me on YouTube?

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Oh, Mary Poppins, Nope, and what's recommended?

Speaker 1 (02:42):
The second thing recommended for me was the Odd Couple
where I could watch us through the radio show. Really, yes,
I'm not kidding you, Chris.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Oh, they recommended stuff like YouTube channels.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah, like they like it said wow, it said we
recommend you know like that.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
I didn't look for it.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
They have your name, that's I don't know. I wonder
if that, but it wasn't annowing. Did they know you were?

Speaker 7 (03:07):
No.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
But the thing is no, the thing that I don't
think is it was other stuff recommended.

Speaker 6 (03:12):
It wasn't just for its It wasn't just you.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Know what I mean, Like like the first thing was
was like a movie. The second thing was the Odd Couple.
The third thing was a T show movies. I don't remember,
you know.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
I was thinking of this episode that you may have
seen of the King of Queens where what was the
guy's name? He was one of one of the Kevin
James friends.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
Uh, the black guy that one of the little white guys.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
I can't remember his name, but they were his TV
recommended a lot of stuff to him that, uh, let's
just say, questioned his sexuality. Okay, he recommended a lot
of stuff that yeah, yeah, yeah, No.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
It wasn't anything that's sexy like last but it was Chris.
It was weird to be recommended our show and then
for me to watch a little love it that is.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
How did it look? They look good?

Speaker 6 (04:07):
Yeah, Elijah does a great job.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I'm sure it looks really good at the graphics. Everything
it was It's like watching a TV show and no
wonder people are annoyed that I'm always doing stuff because.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Yeah, so maybe you'll actually look at me and look
into the camera today.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
I know people will always saying that and Chris ridiculous, right,
you know why though you're always it's a radio show,
so I'm listening to you.

Speaker 6 (04:32):
I really don't look at it like that.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
You know, I'm listening right so to me, like looking
at you while you're talking, I don't need to look
at it.

Speaker 6 (04:40):
Well, yeah, I mean, but I'm listening to you. Well
now you know, now you know.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
It was, by the way, a trash talking Tuesday, Rob,
So who you trash?

Speaker 1 (04:51):
I'm trashing the people who go off the deep end
for the Lakers every time they win a game.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Well that's a nice segue.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Yes, every time they win a game that people think,
oh my god, look they're going to the finals because
they beat OKC.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
Okay, all right, all right, well we'll get into that.
It is trash talking Tuesday. You'll be able to trash
anyone or anything in the world of sports. In the
second hour of the show. To get your takes ready,
to get thirty to forty seconds to do so. The
Odd Couple crew super producer Rob g In the house
on the Ones and tuesdadj Alex tight Shirt joined by Mary.

(05:27):
I don't know her lasting.

Speaker 6 (05:30):
Why bugging?

Speaker 4 (05:34):
That's right, little run DMC classic there for Mary. She
is our new employee here at Fox Sports Radio. So
welcome marriage from the fouta to night.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
And you know what, Chris, I've been in radio for
thirty years.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Mary is the first black woman I've ever seen as
an engineer at.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
The radio station.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Thank you for real, Mary, I'm not I'm congratulations. It's
nineteen ninety four. I've never seen a black woman Chris
as the engineer.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
I haven't either. I mean I haven't been doing radio
as long as you, but.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
You've never seen right when you've done show. No, Yes, Mary,
we welcome you to Fox Gratch Radio.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Thank you, guys. I very much appreciate it. And yeah,
you're grateful. All right? Well, on the updates? Is Nick
Cope Kevin wired?

Speaker 6 (06:24):
I'm Kevin.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
That was PJ Alex Tyscher's fault. He's in Mariar giving
Foss information and on this social media man Elijah Sebunya.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
All right, Rob, you referenced it. Let's get down to it.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
The Lakers last night beat down the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Who are are they the top seeded or they second
flipping because they were top seed going there? Number two
right now? Yeah, they're forty their half game behind Minnesota
for the one seed. But want to see, yes, maybe

(06:56):
number one. Going into last night Lakers beat am come
up one sixteen, one oh four, and it wasn't even
that close. Anthony Davis didn't even play the fourth quarter,
that's how much of a blowout it was.

Speaker 6 (07:07):
And we have some sound from a d periods.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
Talking about, uh, the Lakers playing well and what the
playoffs could look like for them.

Speaker 9 (07:18):
Spoke you know, getting in, Uh, you know, behind.

Speaker 7 (07:21):
The eight ball a little bit.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
It's like weird nae right there.

Speaker 5 (07:24):
You know.

Speaker 9 (07:24):
So you know, anything we don't get top six, you
know you got to go through the whole play in
kind of process.

Speaker 7 (07:33):
Again.

Speaker 9 (07:34):
Uh, you know, we don't really care what you know, CVN.
We've proven that last year. It doesn't matter. I think
this goes on with anyone. You know, you can try
to get in and then you know, playoffs is a
different animals.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Okay, Rob, So the Lakers now are the ninth seed,
a half game ahead of Golden State at ten and
a d says, it don't matter as long as we
get in. We come in for you and we confident.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
What are your thoughts, of course, I mean you're gonna
say that.

Speaker 6 (08:03):
I understand.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
That would be a natural reaction coming off of a way,
especially since they.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Cola Denver, they own Oklahoma. Right, they've always been three
and one against Oklahoma City.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
This year, right, But the uh, I think it's a
convenient way of saying that, or pay no attention to
that man behind the curtain. Forget that we're healthy and
we're the ninth seed, and everyone else has written off

(08:36):
the Warriors, who.

Speaker 6 (08:37):
Are half a game worse than we are.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
They've written off the Warriors, But the Lakers are going
to the Western Conference Finals because they beat Okay.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
See, that's the issue I have.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
The issue I have is that they shouldn't be the
nice seed, that they should be a better team that
they are. And I'm not going to buy into it
that just because they oh, they don't, it doesn't matter
where what when they come in, uh, you know, if
it's the playing if they make the top six or whatever.
I just question why from a half a game difference

(09:10):
between the Lakers and the Warriors, people have, the Warriors
are out of it and going nowhere, and the Lakers.
But but but I'm gonna but I'm gonna say, Chris,
the Lakers are three games out of fifth. So it's
jammed up in the in the.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
But but there are people in your way, and you're
still most of the season. They've been there, right, is
what I'm saying. They haven't been fifth and falling down tonight.
They've been almost out of the uh, out of the
top six all year. And I get it, not by
a million games, but that's how it is.

Speaker 6 (09:41):
It's jammed up.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
My only point is, uh A, d and And and
Lebron have been healthy this year. They're playing, Chris, and
it ain't like, oh my god, they're missing all this time.
They're playing, and yet they still aren't where I think
they should be with the talent of those two alone.
That's what makes me concerned about the Lakers going forward
is I don't understand and there's no magical switch to

(10:05):
turn on come April. And then maybe they had everything
worked out a year ago, Chris, with the seating and
the teams that they played to get to the Western
Conference finals, and then of course they got swept. I
just think it's a tougher road, and I don't believe,
even after last night, I'm not buying in that it
doesn't matter that they're going through the playing or that

(10:30):
it doesn't matter what seeding you're in and you're gonna
they're just so good that they're gonna go to the
Western Conference finals and have a chance to go to
the finals. I just don't see this team.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Is that there's one team in the West that's definitively
better than the Lakers, Denver. That's it. I would pick
them over Oklahoma City in the series. I might pick
them over Minnesota, which is right now the top seed. Like,
I'm not saying the Lakers are definitely better than all

(10:59):
the other quote unquote contenders in the West, but there's
only one team I definitely say they just better than
the Lakers, and that's Denver. And here's the thing, right
the reason they own Oklahoma City is because Oklahoma City's young.
Oklahoma City has a wonderful future as long as these

(11:20):
guys stay healthy and they stay in with the thunder
SGA Shake, Gildris Alexander is awesome. Check Holmgren is going
to be a star, if not a superstar Josh Giddy
and Jalen Williams. Like they got some guys Lou Dort,
they got some good role players that are surround around
their stars.

Speaker 6 (11:40):
But they're not ready yet.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
With Lebron James and Anthony Davis and even their supporting
cast veterans, they'll beat OKC. And I'm not guaranteeing they'll
beat everybody else, but I'm just saying New Orleans same
thing as OK. See, y'all very inexperienced. Minnesota is not

(12:05):
that young. Gobart obviously a veteran Anthony Edwards, but cat
can't Carl Anthony Towns. A veteran. Anthony Edwards, though, is
their best player. He's their lifeblood. He's the one that
makes them tick. And he's a youngin He's so young
that yesterday forgot he wasn't even there for tip off.
He lost track of time, so we had to come

(12:26):
in thirty five seconds into the game.

Speaker 7 (12:29):
All right.

Speaker 6 (12:29):
So then you got Phoenix.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
Okay, pretty good, but you can't tell me the Lakers
can't play with them.

Speaker 6 (12:35):
Phoenix might beat them, but the Lakers can play with them.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
Sacramento kind of young to Dallas, very beatable, Golden State
obviously beatable the Clippers for most of the year, or
at least since they got James Harden and Cooking.

Speaker 6 (12:49):
I've liked the Clippers better than the Lakers.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Still might give them a slight edge, but they're starting
to struggle, and I don't like it. They've lost six
of their last eleven. I get it that you go
through slumps during the season. Hopefully that's all this is,
rob but they're three and four since the break. Obviously,
they need Russell Westbrook back. He just had you know,
broken hand surgery. He's supposed to be back for the playoffs.

(13:15):
They need his energy. And you know, the Lakers have
played well against them recently. I think Lebron takes it
personally because the Clippers were owning them for a while.
So my point is just this, the Lakers can't beat Denver.
I'm not saying they would beat the other contenders in
the West, but they could. I don't look at anybody

(13:36):
else in the West, like oh Man, The Lakers got
no chance against them.

Speaker 6 (13:40):
Denver's the only team.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
And if somebody knocks off Denver and the Lakers don't
have to play them, they got a shot.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
After they they've been in the playing game twice. Right,
They beat the Warriors one game, then they got knocked
out by the Suns in the first round. Remember that,
that's when they he went out there, tried to get
out there. And then the next time they beat the
timber Wolves in the one game playoff, and then they
wound up going to the Western Conference Finals.

Speaker 6 (14:09):
I can't remember who the two teams they beat, both
of them were last year.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
The Memphis was number two.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Memphis was banged up. Memphis was banged up in that series.
I think a couple of guys got hurt, so that happened.

Speaker 6 (14:24):
Joah was hurt. Jo was hurt in that series. Who
else was hurt?

Speaker 4 (14:27):
Rob g But they Memphis was, Yeah, that's Memphis is similar.

Speaker 6 (14:32):
I think one of these young teams.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Yeah, but they routed all year. Adams was out basically no.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
But I'm just said, but they didn't have up, they
didn't have their full and John got hurt in the series.

Speaker 6 (14:41):
But anyway, my point is, uh.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
I just think this it's a it's a typical overreaction
every time they win a game, Like nobody would think that.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
For me, it's not an overreaction.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
Year that there's one team there, Like, who who do
you think is definitively better?

Speaker 6 (14:59):
I think you'll say Denvering, the Clippers, whoever? Those are?

Speaker 1 (15:02):
Those are the two teams. And I would take Phoenix
over them if they have their squad. Okay, but would
you give them? But you think that'd be a good series, Like,
it's not like, oh, I'm not sending to get one
out to building, but I would take those Phoenix ain't
looking that good.

Speaker 6 (15:17):
I'll take those three teams over the Lakers, all right?

Speaker 4 (15:20):

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Your thoughts, Benito in Florida, your first up on the
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (17:09):
What's up, Biento, Biento?

Speaker 12 (17:12):
Yeah, what's going on right, Chris?

Speaker 7 (17:14):
How you doing? What?

Speaker 6 (17:15):
Brother?

Speaker 12 (17:16):
I'm doing? All right?

Speaker 6 (17:17):
Biento?

Speaker 12 (17:18):
Man?

Speaker 6 (17:18):
Long time? You all right?

Speaker 12 (17:20):
I'm good man, I'm good.

Speaker 6 (17:23):
Awesome what you got?

Speaker 5 (17:24):
All right?

Speaker 12 (17:25):
So, so with the Lakers, you know, I think this
team is very is very interesting to handlize because I
think they're like they're they're like a mirage to me
because in the regular season they won't I don't think
they'll ever have a good enough top record because their
best player is it a player that plays like a Yannis,

(17:48):
that plays like every plays hard every night. So I
think you're talking about that's their best player when he's playing.

Speaker 7 (17:59):
At his best.

Speaker 12 (18:01):
I honestly don't think like the big man's in the
West can't handle them.

Speaker 6 (18:06):
Well, let's let game yo.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Last year in the Western Conference finals in Denver, he
had he had forty points and they lost.

Speaker 12 (18:17):
Here's a thing. I don't even think the Lakers are
even gonna go gets there. I think Denver is gonna
lose against Phoenix in the playoffs this year and that's
the only team that really gives Lakers trouble, and they
have sold me already. Against any other team, they're very
dominant because they do not have an answer for eighty

(18:37):
and eighty is very comfortable with these other big with
these other big Sinners.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Well, I agree with you. I think Denver's the only
team that's definitively better than them. I'm not saying they
beat all the other teams in the West, but they
certainly will be right there. They'd be good great series.
So if somebody knocks off Denver and the Lakers don't
have to face them, then they can make a playoff run.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
I think Roger, thanks, thanks for the call. We appreciate you.
Stay well, Roger in Minnesota, you're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (19:08):
What's up, Roger, Hey there.

Speaker 13 (19:10):
It's an honor to be with the two greatest sports
writers in the history of the world. But I have
to say, I have to say, you too have a
Lakers fetish or something. They are a nine seed. Currently,
Golden State's going to beat him in the first playing
game and eliminate them. And I know I'm from Minnesota,
and I know we don't get nice things in Minnesota.
We have the longest championship drought of any four sport,

(19:32):
free sport or two sport talt well, at.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Least last year the Twins finally won something on a
playoffs game series.

Speaker 13 (19:40):
True, but you have to keep in mind that the
Lakers starting point guard is our garbage that we gave
to them.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
It's the timber one.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
He's play it well, he's and he.

Speaker 13 (19:50):
Chokes, and he'll choke in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
And even though the.

Speaker 13 (19:55):
We don't get nice things in Minnesota, I realize the
Wolves won't win, but the Lakers, with that point guard
who fails every time in the playoffs, they're not getting
out of that. The Golden States could have beat in
the ninth Why in the world.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
Would you say Golden State's gonna beat them? They have
Golden State lacks size and I'm not saying it's not possible.

Speaker 6 (20:15):
It's a one game.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Anything can happened in the one and done, especially when
you got Steph Curry. But Golden State's small and the
Lakers dominate. They're too big for Golden State.

Speaker 6 (20:24):
They did it last year. They don't.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
It was too big with Lebron and a D I mean,
come on, you got Kevon Looney trying to stop those two.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Uh, let's go to did John and it's not spelled
that way. Is a Dewan.

Speaker 6 (20:46):
All right, sorry Dewan in Vegas.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
That don't always matter, Rob, you know how the spelling.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
I'm just saying that from Chicago.

Speaker 14 (20:56):
Don't worry.

Speaker 6 (20:58):
All right, what you got man?

Speaker 14 (21:00):
Thank you. Let me start off with saying thank you, Rob,
because those brothers do love baseball, So thank you for
your baseball that I love it.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
Well.

Speaker 6 (21:09):
That also more brothers to start playing. Thank you so much.
Get there in the minor league. I got the number.

Speaker 14 (21:19):
In high school. I loved it, but Rob was the
only person that was talking about it.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
Well, I appreciate it.

Speaker 14 (21:26):
Now, Chris, you gotta get you ain't got no more
toes yet. I'll let you know that.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
I'm glad you support. First things first, thank.

Speaker 14 (21:37):
You brothers, y'all, y'all bes try to get everything, all right?

Speaker 4 (21:41):
So what you got man? All right?

Speaker 14 (21:44):
So I got this. I seen MPG. He's trying to
do his thing because y'all talk about his kids. So
he's teaming the ball.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Well we can barely understand, like, yeah, you're not coming
through very yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:00):
I appreciate your support, but the phone was just underwater.
We got from Yeah, you were.

Speaker 4 (22:07):

Speaker 6 (22:23):
You can tell he's from the Bay Area.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Former NFL offensive line in Fox Sports Radio Weekend host
our man Eph from Salim.

Speaker 6 (22:32):
What up met?

Speaker 7 (22:34):
What's up? Brothers? How y'all doing?

Speaker 6 (22:35):
We are good, man, We are good.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Look, let's talk Russell Wilson. What did you do? You
think Denver made the right move or that they did
Russ wrong?

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Well, I think you can have both. I think I
think they made the right move in terms of Sean
Payton is not going anywhere, and obviously there was, you know,
a just connect between Sean Payton and Russell Wilson. So
I think they had to move on. They weren't going
to move off the coach, so they had to move

(23:08):
off the quarterback. And on the flip side of that,
they did do Russ wrong because if you look at
Russ and look at his numbers, he's been consistently the
same type of quarterback. Now, was that mask in Seattle
with one of the greatest defenses ever and the types
of weapons that they had outside and the Marshawn Lynch

(23:29):
of it all, Yeah, you can have that argument. But
to bring a quarterback in with the history of winning
and the caliber of a Russell Wilson and then treat
him like he was, you know, Matt Flynn to Parking
back to the Seattle days, Yeah, that's disrespectful.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
Let me ask you this, Rob, if you don't mind
if I follow up. His numbers, as you might be
alluding to, were not bad. Twenty six touchdowns, eight interceptions,
top ten in TDS for I'm sure that's top ten,
and TDS interception ratio top six and passer rating as
he was six. But when I watched the games, I

(24:11):
gotta be honest, like, it didn't look like he played
that well. He wasn't bad, but it looked pedestrian. It
looked like they really had trouble scoring. Yet I look
at the numbers and I'm like, man, he actually, you know,
his numbers are pretty good. So do you feel What
was your take on his season last year? And did

(24:33):
you feel any of what I saw because I didn't
think he played as well as the numbers suggests, and.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
I would agree with that watching him and the struggles
that they had in the red zone, it just seems
on Russell Wilson esk you know. And then but when
you look at it, it's, first of all, it's he
was there for two years. That's two different systems, two
different offenses, two different head coaches. You know, they had
some injuries to guys outside running game. What you know

(25:03):
Denver is historic and synonymous with the terrific running game.
It comes with it. I was there, I was a Bronco.

Speaker 7 (25:11):
I know what it.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
Means to be able to run the ball there and
to keep players, to keep teams off kilter. You just
didn't have that, and to me, it just seemed like
he was uncomfortable in terms of offense.

Speaker 7 (25:27):
Right.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
There was a lack of trust with Nathaniel Hackett the
year the year he got there, and that was clearly evident.
And then last year it just the synergy between he
and Champagne it obviously wasn't there. I don't know, you know,
it's hard to be in a situation where the most

(25:49):
important position on the team doesn't get along or doesn't
see eye to eye with the head coach, that's a
recipe for disaster. And I think it was a combination
of that, and it showed that his output on the field.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
My issue here is is totally disrespectful and it was
dirty pool and Sean Payton went in there with an
axe to grind against him for whatever reason.

Speaker 6 (26:10):
He talked about Russell Wilson even before he.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Got there, and like like he didn't do a great
job coaching either.

Speaker 6 (26:17):
We saw that Blackos slip.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
From twenty first and yards to twenty six and defensively
remember the seventy piece and they slipped from seven to
defense under hack It to twenty ninth under Peyton. And
my other thing too is just simply like what's the
game plan? Like who's the quarterback? Like it's it's easy
to get rid of somebody like I don't see what

(26:40):
their game plan is and ephraim to eat eighty five
million dollars like that that's personal cause cause just don't
do that.

Speaker 7 (26:51):
Yeah, you paid somebody forty million dollars to.

Speaker 5 (26:53):
Just go away.

Speaker 7 (26:56):
That's tough.

Speaker 5 (26:57):
But look what I will tell you is is you
know new owners the amount of money these new owners
are are are coming into ownership with in terms of
buying teams, it's staggering.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
Right, it's like bad business.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
It is bad business. But it's just like when Steve
Balmer bought the bought the Clippers for two billion dollars
and he came in and he don't care what you do,
just whatever you need, right. Like, it's a different mindset
in terms of the owners that are buying teams now.
They've been so successful and have so much money and
run these companies the way they they're running these teams

(27:35):
like companies now, and they're just like, Okay, this doesn't fit,
we're gonna eat that and we'll move on.

Speaker 7 (27:40):
And like. So it's not what we're used to seeing
in terms.

Speaker 5 (27:44):
Of contracts and teams feeling like they're trapped within a
contract with the player anymore.

Speaker 6 (27:50):
Yeah, but I know, I'll say this.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Chris and I talked and I said that Josh McDaniel
should be fun and we both kind of said, Okay,
Chris never thought he would be fired because of the money,
and that that's a realistic approach when a coach still
has four years left on his contract. Yeah, and and
and Sean Payton. I mean there was a point where
it looked like they had quit on him. You remember

(28:15):
how bad things had gotten h but then he came
over and then they wanted But then they didn't make
the playoffs and they didn't play. But my, my, my
only point is is Sean Payton has the same number
of Super Bowls as Russell Wilson. It just felt like
he never respected him or what he had done. Like, like,

(28:38):
disrespect is I think what bothers.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
Me from You're right because the statements like you stopped
trying to yes and do like that, that's a personal
dig at someone that has nothing to do with the
player's abilities. Russell Wilson is that guy, that's what and
so that's a that's a personal dig. So in that
and in that aspect, you're absolutely right, Rob when you

(29:03):
talk about disrespect, like you don't like, look, man, you
can't tell this man how to be, Like, hey, he's
going to be himself. Fully, he's a champion, he's a
winning quarterback. So for you to come in and be like, hey,
don't be you be this person, don't worry about this,
that's a tough sale for someone who's established who they

(29:24):
are on and off the field already, and you may
not like it as a coach, but you can't come
in and you not disrespect your quarterback. I means Russell Wilson.
You got to put some respect on his name.

Speaker 4 (29:35):
So we got about a minute and a half for
your answer, Ephraim, where do you think, like what team
should go after Russ And do you think he can
cause look, we saw Kurt Warner right after his great
start with Saint Louis struggle badly with the Giants and

(29:56):
it resurrected himself and you.

Speaker 6 (29:58):
Had that bad thummy couldn't hold onto the ball. You
remember all those trumbles right, and us had.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
Some injury too.

Speaker 6 (30:03):
But do you number one, who do you think should
sign him?

Speaker 4 (30:08):
And number two, do you think a resurrection even if
not back to what he was you know in Seattle
at his peak, but like him playing really good level,
high level football. Do you think that could happen again?

Speaker 5 (30:20):
Well, I think you go to a team that has
a tremendous defense, because that's what he's comfortable with. That's
what he's been his best player with a tremendous defense
and a dynamic running game. So when you when you
throw that out there. You have to put the Raiders
up there right with that defense and being able to
get after the quarterback, their ability to stop the run. Uh,

(30:40):
they don't have anybody a signal caller. Uh. So for me,
you know, I think Antonio Pierce as a coach that
would resonate with with Russell Wilson. There'd be a you know,
a commonality there in terms of a respect of what
they've been able to do as players. So that to

(31:01):
me sticks out.

Speaker 7 (31:02):
That's a place.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
Depending on what Minnesota does with Kirk Cousins. I think
that place Minnesota, especially in that division now that's wide
open outside of Detroit being who they are, I think
that's a good landing spotform because they do play defense
and they do have offensive weapons. So you know, just
off the top of my head, those two places make

(31:24):
the most offense.

Speaker 4 (31:26):
All right, Don Man, than you from Salon with the knowledge,
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (31:30):
Brother absolutely, Brothers, y'all stay safe.

All right, last night one and two, I got the
best bet right, the Jazz minus five.

Speaker 6 (32:54):
Over the Wizards.

Speaker 4 (32:55):
W just follow My best bet is that the only
thing you got right that I was the one I
got right to kick I had they lost to the
Bulls and I was long.

Speaker 6 (33:04):
Yes I was wrong. So here we go, tonight we
hear that too much.

Speaker 11 (33:09):
I was wrong.

Speaker 6 (33:11):
I was wrong, all right? Tonight.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
I got the Mavericks christ minus four and a half
hosting the Pacers in Dallas, gonna take the.

Speaker 6 (33:21):
Sons plus eight and a half at the Nuggets.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
The Nuggets win, but the Sons uh cover the spread?
Chris eight and a half plus eight and a half.
And then I got the Rockets minus seven and a half.
They're taking on Everyone knows it's whim be. So are
you on the Wimby's Rookie of the Year.

Speaker 4 (33:41):
Yeah, oh yeah, bandwagon there? Okay, I agree.

Speaker 6 (33:44):
Uh So I.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
Got the Rockets minus seven and a half, Sons plus
eight and a half Chris on the road against the Nuggets,
and the Mavericks minus four and a half at home
against the Pacers. And remember, I'm not telling you who
the bet on, I'm telling.

Speaker 6 (33:59):
You who I better. Oh haul all right?

Speaker 14 (34:02):
Rob?

Speaker 4 (34:03):
With that said, uh don't look now, as the old
school sports writers used to say, but the Milwaukee Bucks, right, Doc,
I'm gonna give Doc a little credit. We've been We've
we've told it like it is with Doc. When it's negative,
we gotta tell it when it's positive. He's got the
Bucks playing some good basketball. Now, I know it only
matters what they do in the postseason and Robed their

(34:24):
finals are bust, They're actually kind of win it right
when the finals are bust, I mean they getting there.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
They are, said Chris, because Doc Rivers has had good
teams during the regular season, that ain't even an issue.
Like for Doc and what he's been through, Chris, any
kind of collapse in the postseason will be devastated.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
They can win sixty five games, exactly, get it done
in the player Yeah, I agree, I agree.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
Like that's the only thing.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Doc was brought there to get them to the championship
and to win, not to falter like I'm sorry, I
know that is that fair. I know it's not fair,
but for him and where the Bucks are and where
Doc is and his coaching career, it is fair.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
It's totally fair.

Speaker 7 (35:08):
Right.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
Look, there are I would say four teams, and one
of these teams is very like you know, they're not
gonna get there, but just because of their pedigree, I'm
putting them in this bunch four teams, Rod where getting
to the finals is not enough. You actually, you're not

(35:30):
gonna feel good about your season unless you win it,
and that's Denver, Boston, Milwaukee, you could probably throw in
maybe it's five.

Speaker 6 (35:43):
Maybe you throw in Miami.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Although they're usually such a low seed, they kind of
getting to the finals as an accomplishment. But I'll throw
them in there just because they championship four years right right,
been there twice, right, so they they they need to
win it. And Rob, I'm gonna, oh the man, they
got no chance but Golden State, because you know, they've
won enough titles where it's like just getting to the

(36:05):
finals isn't gonna satisfy them.

Speaker 6 (36:08):
So Milwaukee is that type of team.

Speaker 4 (36:11):
Rob It. Look, they've won their last six games. Last
night they won without Yiannis. That's a big win.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
They called scored forty points Dame Lillard, Chris and forty
points in the fourth quarter had exploded and led them back.

Speaker 6 (36:29):
That was a big turnaround.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
They were down by about ten or twelve or something
like that. That's a big turnaround and a big win
at home against the Clippers.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
Yep, And so.

Speaker 6 (36:41):
I lookt rob.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
Their defense has been the problem, but under Doc in
the last month they have gone they have been the
fourth best defense in the league. They were nineteenth up
until the end of January and then they've been fourth
best since then. So if Dame can kind of get

(37:03):
back to being Dame, he's you know, he's scoring twenty
five a game, but he's his shooting percentages, both overall
and from three are low for him. If he can
kind of get back to being himself, then they got
a shot. Because one thing Doc knew, and it's smart about,
is they're not fast on the perimeter, but they're big

(37:26):
and they can protect that rim. And so Adrian Griffin
had him out there trying to guard on the floor
Giannis and Brook Lopez and they they're big and that's
tough for them to do, particularly Lopez. So you know,
so far it's been looking good, Rob, they still got
a long way to go, but uh and Giannis, of course,

(37:47):
last night didn't play because the Achilles ten to night
is Rob. So you hope that that doesn't become anything
serious because obviously they got no shot without Giannis.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
So but their numbers are all in his favorite Chris first,
and net rating second, and defensive rating and second in
offensive rating. So yeah, since the yeah, yep so, it
has turned around.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
Yep, yep so. But again, you're absolutely right, what they
do in the postseason is all that matters, all that matters,
all right, keep it like we got two hours left.
