Post it right after we get off the air. All right,
we have a special guess season NFL reporter does a
great job covering the league for USA Today. Friend of
the show, We welcome in Tyler, Dragon Tiger.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Welcome to the Couple. Hey did I say Tiger? You
said I'm sorry leaving a message. Hey, this is first.
We want to know how Junior is doing. How's your son?

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Now?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
How's everything?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Oh, he's doing good. He's going to be four months tomorrow.
If he's growing every day, I already have a little personality.
But he's doing great.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
Appreciate you, enjoy it, man, because it goes fast.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
Yeah, all right, let's start.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
We obviously have the NFL Draft coming up.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Are you with everybody or most other people that Caleb
Williams is the best player or best quarterback at least
in this draft class?

Speaker 3 (01:56):
And if so, where does it go from there?

Speaker 6 (02:00):
For you?

Speaker 4 (02:00):
A lot of people like Jayden Daniels, Drake May some
now JJ McCarthy like, where does the rest of the
quarterback field step a stack up for you?

Speaker 3 (02:11):
If indeed you have Caleb number one?

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah, I have Caleb Williams number one, and he it's
pretty much a done deal that he is going to
be a Chicago Bear once the Bears officially put their
pick in. But my order is a little bit different
after him. I do have Jaden Daniels as my second
ring quarterback. I really like his.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Mobile JJ McCarthy no, no.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
No, no, no. I like Daniels' mobility. He's six ' four, Yes,
he's a little bit slender, but I believe he's going
to add some weight on a professional level. And then
number three, I actually like Michael Pennix Junior when I
saw him play in the college football playoffs and at

(02:59):
the Universe Washington. I just like the way the ball
flies out of his hands. He have arguably the strongest
arms in this draft class. Now, he does have a
little bit of injury history.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Wait a minute, that's a part of his resume, because
that was my next pushback, is the injuries.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
That doesn't scare you, Tyler.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
That doesn't scare him because he did play a healthy
season of Washington, and as long as you have an
offensive line to protect him and as long as he
does not absorb those brutal hits in the NFL, I
think he'll be fine. All his injuries were pretty much
when he was seeking out contact as a quarterback. So
he's my third ranked quarterback. And then I have Drake

(03:42):
May from North Carolina and then JJ McCarthy. So that's
probably my top five big board as far as quarterbacks
in NFL drafts.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Awesome.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
Let me ask you about the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott.
You know, there's all kinds of stuff going on they're
gonna make it, let him play out the contract and
then see or is Jerry gonna cave? What are you
hearing with the Cowboys and Dak.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Yeah, I'm hearing that he's probably gonna play out this
final year and then they're going to negotiate from there. Now,
things can change between now and the regular seasons. But
to me, what I'm hearing is the Cowboys and Jerry
Jones are comfortable with Dak Prescott playing this final year
under his contract. And they have a lot of other

(04:32):
high priced players, marquee players that are eligible for contract extensions,
and first of mind is Michael Partons, who might be
the highest pay defensive player ever by the time his
deal gets finalized. So there's a lot of decisions that
need to be made in Dallas beyond Dak Prescott.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
All right, So yeah, I mean they talked about being
all in.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
I think Tyler, it has been a horrendous offseason for
the Cowboys, and I know we got the draft and
there's other stuff that can happen, but.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
They've lost several top players.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
They only have three picks in the top one hundred
and fifty actually won seventy. They only got three picks,
so they only restock so much.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
You got Ceedee Lamb maybe holding out.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
You got leaks about them being tired of Micah Parsons,
You're not resigning Dak. You got a leak about maybe
they'll look at a quarterback in the draft. What is
going on in Dallas. I think it's been a terrible
offseason for them.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yeah, it has been a terrible offseason. They might be
having the worst free agency in all of the NFL,
especially in the NFC East. When you look at the
players of the caliber like the Commanders added and the
Philadelphia Eagles with Sakuon Barkley, with the Cowboys that they
really have not spent a lot of their money and

(05:56):
basically because they were, you know, they their salary cap situation,
they had to play the salary captain natticks. And then
they have, like I said, these contracts coming up with
the Michael Partners, with the CD Lamb and Dak Prescott,
and I believe that Jerry Jones thinks that his team
is still good enough to compete in the NFC, and

(06:18):
then they're going to look at how this draft is
going to play out. Yes, they don't have a lot
of ticks in this NFL draft, but they still have
a first round pick. Maybe they can get a receiver
to go on the opposite side of CD Lamb, so
they're not too far away. But they did lose a
lot of key players in free agency, so it's going

(06:39):
to be interesting to see how they maneuver this draft
and how they close out for agency because there's still
a lot of pretty good players available. Odell Beckham junior,
he will see a nice addition in Dallas as a
number two, number three.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
How much does he have left though? I'm asking does
he have anything left in the tank?

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I believe though, because you're not asking him to be
a number one receiver. You're asking him to be behind
Cede Lamb, maybe be a third option, a pass catching
option in Dallas, and with that, I still think he
can be a very reliable and productive player. And Baltimore,
he was kind of asked to be the number two option,
especially after Mark Andrews got hurt. At this point in

(07:21):
his career, he's not that, but as a third receiver option,
I think he's still a productive player.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
You you mentioned the Ravens. Obviously they got Dereck Henry.
How much of a up well, you know, it's a
great upgrade, But I mean, how much of an impact
do you think that'll have on them? They went away
from the run inexplicably, which was right? Is this a
sign that they kind of recognize the error of their

(07:50):
ways and will go back to, you know, running the
football more or just tell us how you think this
this move will impact this team.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yeah, I'm still from my head that they went away
from the run game game. But Derrick Henry I cannot
wait for him and Lamar Jackson to run the read option.
I think it's going to cause defensive fits and it's
going to be so potent that you know, they can
win the division again. I mean with him in the

(08:19):
backfield with Lamar Jackson, that's like a match made in heaven.
I really do like what the Ravens have done this offseason. Now,
I do think they need to upgrade their offensive line.
They lost some players. They still have Ronnie Stay at
left tackle, but inside at guard and right tackle, they
probably need to make some more additions. I expect them

(08:39):
to probably address their O line in the draft. But overall,
when I look at this Ravens roster, it's probably the
best in the AFC. North, but they're O line and
pass rush rushers. They do need to upgrade those two
specific spots.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
The Jets.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
Have they done enough in the offseason? Obviously, you never know.
You got a forty year old quarterback who got hurt
on four snaps, and you know there's always the threat
that he could be injured. But what about what they've
done to show up the offensive line? Are you happy
with the Jets off season?

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Well?

Speaker 2 (09:18):
I do like the addition in Tyron Smith. I still
think he has something less than the tank, But overall
I still think they're maybe missing some pieces, especially on
the O line and the interior. I like Morgan Moses.
We just talked about the Ravens. He came over from there,
but what are you going to do on the interior,
especially at guard and at center. Now on the outside

(09:42):
with Aaron Rodgers, I love the edition of Mike Williams
to go with Garrett Wilson. Mike Williams at the big
Catch radiof he six four. He can catch a lot
of contest to catches a lot of jump balls. So
him with Garrett Wilson, that's going to be a very
potent attack for Aaron Rodgers if he can stay healthy.
Let's hope he ask more than four players and he
could come back from that achilles injury. So that's going

(10:04):
to be the huge question. But overall, on paper, I'd
be like the Jets Ralston.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
Well, speaking of comebacks. Did you hear Tom Brady? I'm
sure you did, and he's smart, he knows what he's said,
and my mouth tie was going to be picked up.
I mean, I thought he was all but begging for
somebody to come get him. Tyler, what is the buzz
around the league? And I can think of a few

(10:31):
teams that I think could use him. What do you
think about the Brady situation and what's the buzz?

Speaker 2 (10:37):
I think it's just a whole bunch of talk. Tom
Brady is forty six years old, He's going to be
forty seven and on August third, there is no way
in the world he is going to come back as
a forty seven year old quarterback. Now, I know quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Forty five he threw for forty seven hundred yards, yes, but.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
That's come on. Now, he's almost fifty. Now, I know
quarterbacks don't get hit and he pretty much have flags
on them over there. So I mean, is the door
cracked because of how today's NFL has played. Maybe, but no,
Tom Brady just talking. He knows he's gonna call Taedlines.
He's now an NFL owner too, so he's not coming back.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
There's a better chance that him and Drizselle will get
back together.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
Rob is full of wishful thinking. The last thing he
was Tom Brady.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
I'm done with Tom Brady enough.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Already, all right, Tyler, great stuff as always.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Man.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
We appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
All right, thanks for having me. I have a great night.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
All right, More couple coming here, right Rob.

Speaker 4 (11:43):

And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Yeah, you blubber list jam in me. Well you know
what it's called over promise. You should be good at
it because you've been over promising women for years.

Speaker 7 (12:42):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised. Well, if
you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make sure you
check out over Thomas and also Uncensored by the way,
so maybe we'll go at it even a little harder.

(13:04):
It's gonna be the best after show podcast of all time.
There you go, over Promising. Remember you could see it
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen to over Promised
with Cadino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts
or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
All right, it is the couple Chris and Rob live
from the tire Rack dot Com Studios and Rob. The
Philadelphia seventy six Ers honored Alan Iverson today. They put
a statue up of him on the Legends It's called
Legends Walk.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Is that what it's called? In Philadelphia?

Speaker 4 (13:42):
All the great Sixers have statues up there.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Doctor j Charles.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Barkley, Wilt Chamberlain, Mo Cheeks is great, but their head
the Sixers are getting destroyed on social media.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Because the statue of Iverson is tiny. It's small. Now.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
All the statues on Legends Walk are small, and that's
outside of the Sixers practice facility. They're smaller than the
statues you'll see in front of saying, you know, you
know what, Chris, Crypto dot com Arena in La and
all that.

Speaker 5 (14:29):
I think that's just a financial thing and it comes
off as cheap because there's no reason if you're gonna
put a statue up, should they not be life size.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
I just I looked at them, Chris.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
They look like they're all small.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
They're all small and cheap. I'm just saying, I don't
know what they cost. That's what it looks like. Because
they don't look like the players. They look like the right, Chris.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
They look like yeah, I mean they look like just smaller,
weaker versions of the player, right they don't it?

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Almost childlike versions of the player. I hate to say it, Mantia,
you on Manti's with us.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
I am here, and you've been you've been seeing the
uh there's videos and all this stuff social to me too.

Speaker 8 (15:20):
Yes, yes, they look a little alien like, don't.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
You think you guys, they're they're kind of tiny, right,
and which makes them look I don't know, they just
and and and his is now the base thankfully is
the same size as the others.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
But he honestly, and you know, I think it's mo cheeks.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
There are a couple of the players that are in
positions where they're bent down, and other players who are
like shooting jump shots so they're extended, so that makes
them taller than some of the others. Like Iverson's he's
kind of crouched and he's driving on somebody, so he's
kind of crouched down. But his person, like the actual

(16:02):
body of his statue, at least from the videos that
I'm seeing, looks smaller than the other bodies.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
Is that fair? Monster?

Speaker 8 (16:13):
I would one hundred percent agree with you, They are
all small. His looks even smaller.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
I agree.

Speaker 5 (16:21):
The first thing I thought of when I saw his
statue was the Wizard of Oz and the Munchkins, Like, you.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
Might be serious because it's fun Manzi, I'm telling, what
is this like? I know that ain't mons like she
laughing out, Chris, that's a drop y'all.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
Funny. But it wasn't that funny. It sad, Chris. It
sounds like you though, that is not it is me? No, no, no, no,
what I mean saying it sounds like.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
It's live like yeah, no, it definitely does. But but
I just I'm disappointed in it. I'm gonna be honest,
I don't like it. I just think it comes off
incredibly cheap, like, let's not use enough. I don't know
what they make the statue out of, Chris, you know
what I mean, to save money.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
It just doesn't look right.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
And and he looks even smaller than the rest of
the statues.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
And I get it.

Speaker 5 (17:19):
He's doing a He's crossover move and he's kind of
bent down but still.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
But he really looks smaller.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
He looks And maybe it's the angle you know of
the videos we're looking at or something but he looks smaller,
there's no doubt about it. And I don't mean just
because obviously he was shorter. But they're all thin, even Barkley.
I can't figure out which one, but but Barkley was big.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
All of these guys look thin.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
So even the one if Barkley doesn't look like really big,
I got I think by Barkley's one of the two
or three next iverson. Yeah, it's I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
I think you hit it on the head.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Rob.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
They're just I guess saving money, and I get it.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Maybe they you know, because it's a it's a bunch
of them extra one another. You don't want to make
all of them huge, Like the Staples Center, I mean
those things. I mean, pretty soon they put up any more,
you're not gonna be able to get into the stables.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
They're going over. Everybody can't get a statue. Everybody can't
get way the value of getting the statue.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Now, granted, the Lakers have had an inordinate number of
great players, right and it's not just La, but you
can do with the out there. They got Oscar Dalen
Hoyas out there.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
I mean like like you could do like we're tired
of numbers like the Yankees, right, but you don't have
a statue of everybody else, Rob.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
I mean I was a little tongue in cheek, but
at my right, it's hard. They're all over the.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
Place in front of don't forget that you have and Monty,
you know this. The kids are, the Kings are out there.
The announcers are.

Speaker 8 (19:07):
Out there, giant and.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
And and and the the announcers, Chris have like death
you're sitting at right right.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
I mean, it's just it is, and that's where so
I understand. You know, the Sixers, I guess doing it
a little differently. And they're smaller, but I don't know
they it does. They don't look as good. They just don't.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
So because.

Speaker 5 (19:33):
And maybe Monty can answer this, Chris, I don't know,
because I've never been to that facility.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
That's their product. I haven't seen it.

Speaker 8 (19:39):
I haven't seen that person.

Speaker 5 (19:40):
What I was gonna ask is that closed off to
the public.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
You know? What I mean is that it's out right.

Speaker 8 (19:47):
My understanding is that it's out and people can't access.

Speaker 5 (19:51):
Okay, so so fans can come over in that area,
is what I'm asking on I wasn't show off like
that was fenced off and that's just the entrance way
in the practice. But you can't as a fan because
then that would be the reason that the only people
will see the statues, right are players going into the
practice facility.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
You see what I'm saying compared to the to the
general public. Yeah, look, I don't want to.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
I think they mean well obviously, but oh yeah, is
there a happy medium between like the parade of statues
out in front of the Cryptocenter and what these tiny
little things in Philly?

Speaker 3 (20:35):
I mean, you gotta hit that sweet spot, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
They don't have to be gigantic, but they should be
you know, they should be hardy.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
How about that hardy? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, all.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
Right, let's look, let's throw it out to the callers
listeners and see what they think. I'm sure, you know,
it's all over social media, so I'm sure they're seen.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
You know, they've seen the statue and everything.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
Eight seven seven Night on Fox eight seven seven nine nine,
six sixty three, sixty nine.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
If you want to weigh in on the Allen Iverson statue.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
That was unveiled today in Philadelphia, obviously tribute to the
great AI it's an understatement to say he's deserving of
a statue. We just hope it does him justice and
his career justice. And that goes for all the other
guys on the Legends Walk too. So you've seen the videos.

(21:29):
I'm sure you've seen the pictures. What do you think
of the Allen Iverson statue at Legends Walk outside of
the Sixers Practice Facility.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
You're turned away in calling now and you'll be up
after Moncey Belanos gives us the update.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Mons.

Speaker 8 (21:49):
Well, guys, I have a sound of Helen Iverson today
as they debuted his statue.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
Check it out, won't yell.

Speaker 9 (21:56):
I know how much I appreciate y'all, and I promise much.
I won't want to do this, but it is what
it is. Thank everybody for coming out. I thank everybody,
like I said, for playing a parton that's and making
his dream come true. And I'm just so excited to
see what's going on.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
So he was emotional, he was happy. AI gets emotional.

Speaker 5 (22:18):
Yeah, you know what I mean. I'm surprised you never
had a Kleenex endorsement.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
I'm just saying.

Speaker 8 (22:25):
Sorry, Okay, right, we're gonna check in on NBA scores
he could.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Now, you know, And you know what's funny though, you
know what's funny, Rob, You mentioned that so many NBA
players get endorsements after they were done playing.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
I mean, Mellow, now you got more, he said, more?
Never seen mellow more, Chris, I'm with you, right, Shaq
obviously shot stop.

Speaker 10 (22:56):
I mean Shack doing all the conver There's others who
some But let me ask you this with Mellow, is
it is it because Qus his rate is reduced now
that he's not a player, Do.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (23:09):
Like, I mean, there's a different a current player and
a former player.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
I think that's possible because they're still recognizable.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
So maybe you're right you get him for cheaper.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
And also, I mean, look, obviously you can do him
as a player, but you also have more time. Those
things take time, you know, to do the commercials, and
you have more time to do them.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Obviously the current players do him too, But it is
just interesting.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
I mean, guys get more now or once they retire
then they did h when they.

Speaker 8 (23:38):
Were played for Maybe it's just that they have the like,
not just the time now, but now they want to
do it maybe when they were approached in the middle
of their career, they were like, I got time for this,
and now they.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
Have the time.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
I mean, because they're getting they're offering a lot of money.

Speaker 8 (23:52):
It's true, it's true.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
A lot of dudes do like that stuff. But you know,
maybe something did turn it down.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
Yeah, yeah, uh.

Speaker 8 (23:58):
Joelle Embiid. We mentioned that he left right before halftime,
seemed to have a leg injury. Well, he jumped right
back in to start the third quarter for the seventy
six ers. He's got thirty two points, thirteen rebound, seven assists.
In Philadelphia is beating Orlando one twenty three to one
oh nine one minute to go in the game. The
Bulls were down. Now they're on top of the Wizards
one twenty eight to one twenty six six seconds left

(24:20):
in the game. Celtics are beating the Hornets one seventeen
to ninety one. Late in the fourth quarter, the Calves
have taken the lead over the Pacers one o seven
to one h two halfway through the fourth. The Knicks
have taken the lead at home over the Nets ninety
four eighty four, also halfway through the fourth quarter, and
the Heat have extended their lead over the Raptor seventy
five to fifty nine.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
Halfway through the third.

Speaker 8 (24:40):
The Thunder and the Timberwolves currently tied for second place
in the Western Conference. Minnesota has Karl Anthony Towns back today.
They're beating the Hawks sixty six fifty five. Halfway through
the third. The Thunder are on top of the Bucks
at home, seventy eight to sixty five with about eight
minutes to go in the third. In Major League Baseball,
the benches cleared between the Birds and the Or, but

(25:00):
it really is all Milwaukee. Maybe that's why the Oils
are bad. Because the Birds are on top ten to
one bottom of the eighth inning. The Tigers are blanking
the Twins five zero, top of the six, All Rockies
against the Blue Jays ten to two, bottom of the eighth,
All Angels against the Red Sox. They're shutting them out
seven zero, bottom of the ninth. In Boston, the Braves
are beating the Marlin seven to one bottom of the eighth.

(25:23):
The Reds have added some more runs. They're on top
of the White Sox seven to one top of the seventh,
and the Rangers and Astros were tied until the Rangers
exploded Texas on top eight to three against Houston. They're
about to start the fifth inning and at the Masters,
three way tie after the second round. Bryson Deshambo, Max Homa,
Scottie Scheffler, they're all tied. Tiger Woods did make the cut,

(25:45):
making a record for twenty four consecutive cuts at the Masters.
He ended one over guys.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
This was fine.

Speaker 8 (25:51):
Let's do it again next week.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
Back to you, all right, Thank you, Minzieah.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
We were just talking about Allen Iverson and his new
statue out in Philadelphia. We had to go get our
man in Philadelphia on the ground, got his ear. He's
all up in the streets of Philly, so he knows
what's going on. That, of course is friend of the show,
Anthony Gargana.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
What's up, man? How are you so you you just
heard me?

Speaker 4 (26:20):
We were just talking about the Allen Iverson statue. We
obviously know Ai was deserving of a statue and we're
happy for him. So small, but as you see, yeah,
there's all over social media and I'm just looking at videos.
Obviously we're not in Philly, but all of those statues.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
Are small, but his looks even smaller than most.

Speaker 6 (26:42):
Do you.

Speaker 10 (26:46):
Rocky for good, right, I mean, what are people in
Philly saying?

Speaker 3 (26:50):
What are your thoughts? First? And then what I was?

Speaker 6 (26:53):
I was onto it, man Ai statue. We get to
celebrate them. There's going to be a new job documentary
on them. Uh on Netflix.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (27:04):
We had I had Tack Coachy all today to talk
about those days and and you know, like it was awesome, Mike,
and then the statue comes down. I'm going, what it's
It's weird. It's all God blessed right right, It's gotta
be like you guys know because we all work together

(27:24):
in New York and you go to the old Yankee Stadium, man,
and you walk through that legends like, come on, those
are statues, right like, yeah, you gotta you gotta do
a little better now.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Do you statue? So oh, go ahead right now.

Speaker 5 (27:43):
I'm just gonna say, Anthony statue so small that tattoo
from Fantasy Island would say it was small.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (27:56):
That's all of those statues are small at Legends walk
but and we haven't been there. We're just looking at
the videos. I'm guessing you may have been there. He is, though,

(28:16):
looks smaller even than the other ones.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
Is that fair.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
Yeah, like his body looks small. It's not just that
he's bent down. It's like they made it smaller.

Speaker 6 (28:28):
Yeah, they made it smaller. And it's a shame because
you know, it celebrates all that work. A good looking statue.
But you know, I mean, listen, you're you're in the
lands of Philadelphia, which is a rocky statue, right, right,
But the Rocky statue is a statue like that's a

(28:52):
statue of liberty piece, you know what I'm saying, He's
gotta do better for.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
A Yes, And I don't know, Anthony, I made comment,
and I could be off base, but I made the comment.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
It's is it just.

Speaker 5 (29:05):
Because it's at the practice facility and not in front
of the arena, and they're saving money by having them downscale,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (29:13):
No, they did not save the money like they their
ownership are spenders like they have. They've had the highest
UH coaching payroll. They have no no problem spending money.
Josh Harris who just bought the Commanders, right, I mean,
and they and they'd never David Atelman, they go, they

(29:34):
go for it. So I just think it was more
you know the eye of the sculpture. I guess.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
So let what we have you.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
Let's talk about the Sixers right now, I feel you,
I feel you. Now we what do you think they're
capable of doing?

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Well?

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Let me ask it this way. We all know the
Joel Inbeid's play has dropped off in the playoffs in
the past. I think this year we're going to find
out if that has been due to some you know,
mental block or just freezing up or whatever, or if
it was he's actually fatigued by the time he gets

(30:16):
to the playoffs and usually he has to sit out
a game or two and he's playing eighty percent and
all that, because now you would think he's going to
be fresh. I know he got banged up tonight, but
you would think he'll be fresh for the playoffs. So
if he drops off, you figure it's more of a
mental block. I don't expect him to. But how excited
are people in Philly and how far do you think

(30:39):
this team can go?

Speaker 6 (30:40):
All right? So a couple of sakes, Wandy and d think,
which is fascinating I attribute So listen, if you go
back to the Jimmy year, that was him. He was immature,
he hadn't he hadn't grown to this point where he's
one of the best players in the league right right,
so dominant force. And then after that he got staddled

(31:01):
with Simmons and he got saddled with James Hardy. He
looks due. The thing about Harden was like, we remember
that yeris against Boston, get a couple of great games
and then a couple of awful games. The problem with
Harden's always been his sag. He's got the ball. You
can't you're a big and the dependent on the guy
with the ball. The guy with the ball can't be

(31:25):
a mope, right, like his energy. And that's why with
with maxte as the co star, it's completely different, I think,
and we've seen maxe he that kid is is a player,
but he plays with joy too, and look, he's a
co star, man, he's a legit co star. And I

(31:48):
think this team but Boston's ridiculous and the poor Zingis
moves and that that seems great. But six is the
second best team in the East right now. Don't take
out Milwaukee.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
No, I actually think they will.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
I mean, obviously Yiannis might even be backed up if
they meet in the first round. But even with Giannis,
you're right I mean, Philly looks great, no doubt.

Speaker 5 (32:11):
So what do you what do you have in store?
I mean, what is Philly gonna do? To be honest,
I mean, you got them in the Eastern Conference finals.

Speaker 6 (32:18):
No, listen, they haven't been out of the Secon round
through the whole process.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Right, So this is what I'm masking.

Speaker 6 (32:24):
Like it's a big deal now again, you know, like, look,
it's been a long roll with this squad. You know,
I was I was in what eighth grade when they
want it, right and in eighth grade? Like crazy, like
think about how long? How long it was? I'm telling
you that this is a big deal and they're gonna

(32:46):
make a run down. The problem is you got Boston
the only the only the only other thing storyline is
what do they do next year? Because after the season,
all they have is Indeed and Matsie under contract and
they have a clean slake building around them.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
Yeah, I mean Paul George there's been a lot to
talk about him. Yes, uh, but it'll it'll be interesting
quickly before you go. The Eagles, we all know the
funk they fell into last year.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
They've got two new coordinators. Now do you.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
Expect that to carry over? To this season or you
think that's gone. I personally think it won't be a
factor at all. But where are you at?

Speaker 6 (33:26):
Well? They listen a need places on defense too. I
mean it's all well good. They got Vic Fangio, who's
an upgrade. And I think Kelvin mood is an upgrade offensive,
you know, State, because that that offense. You let's throw
off the cliff, like you said, so it between Barkley
and Kellen Moore. That should help. And it's gonna go
back to Jalen. Jalen's gonna get back to two years ago.

(33:48):
He could expect the two years ago to a force.
And the other issue is, look at that look at
that division. I mean it's a walk to the playoffs
because I don't believe in the Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
Nah, they've had a horrible off season out all right,
that's our man, Anthony, Yo, thanks having with us on
short notice.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
Man, I we'll hear you on the Fox Sports Radio tomorrow,
won't we.

Speaker 6 (34:11):
That's right tomorrow morning? Felt all right hanging out with Jason.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Brother yuh peace? All right, Rob, they made a heart
of a new coach in Kentucky.

Speaker 4 (34:22):

nicely done, Rob.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
What you got going on this weekend?

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Man?

Speaker 3 (35:09):
So chilling tomorrow friends? Yeah, back Sunday, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (35:13):
Sunday, and then Sunday Chris before the Mets game against
Kansas City. They're gonna retire Dwight Goodin's number sixteen. So
I'm going to the ceremony of Sunday. So I'm looking
forward to that. I'll see Doc and his family. Okay, okay,
what about you? We got anything, man, believe it or not.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
I'm on a six am flight tomorrow morning to Kansas
City my co host Nick Wright on First things first,
He and his wife.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
Danielle, married eleven years.

Speaker 4 (35:47):
They're renewing their vows and they never really had you know,
they got married like in Nevada, like you know, a chapel,
you know, they didn't have They just.

Speaker 3 (35:55):
Did it.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
Like yeah, And he had told her at in years
they'll have a real one, and obviously ten didn't work,
but eleven they're doing it.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
So yeah, I'm going out there so tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
Yeah, having a full it's like a full wedding, you know,
it's like serious. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, So in Kansas
City where he's from.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
Right, So I'm heading out there in the morning. Coach.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
She can't make Yeah, my wife's gotta work because she
was in Italy last week. She just got back this
week a couple of days ago, and so she's got
to be on call this weekend.

Speaker 3 (36:30):
But she went with her mom.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
Chris, I'll tell you when it comes to the big events.
Chris flew cross country from my sixtieth birthday party, which I'm.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
Very appreciative of. For real, you know what I mean? Yeah,
that was right, That was a fun time. No, it
was great.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
It wound up being I know, I talked about it forever,
but it wound up being cool.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Yeah, only only knock on the night was your stand up.

Speaker 5 (36:54):
Other than that, I just like it was. It was
a good time and this would be good. That's great,
and I'm sure Nico appreciate you making the effort. Yeah, yeah,
to get out there, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
So it's a good occasion.

Speaker 4 (37:07):
Rob Kentucky, I think this is bad and I know, look,
they needed to get rid of Calipari, but Mark Pope
is their higher.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
Rob.

Speaker 4 (37:17):
He played at Kentucky, was on the nineteen ninety six
you know, national championship team, which is great. But Rob,
he's been a coach for nine years. He's made it
to the NCAA tournament twice. He was at Utah Valley
in the Western Athletic if you want to give him
a break on those four years, but he's been He

(37:37):
was at Brigham Young five years and only made the
tournament twice. Rob, and this is your this is your
higher Christian. I know a lot of guys didn't want
it right. We saw itunds like they punted it.

Speaker 5 (37:51):
Sounds like they punted on this and just decided to
excuse me, you know, not to really push after a
big guy. I don't know why they's saving all this
money from a lot of guys weren't interested. A lot
of the big names weren't interested. No, I get it,
but but but this doesn't sound like a Kentucky higher

(38:12):
like it just sounds.

Speaker 3 (38:13):
It doesn't like like a downgrade, that's all. It sounds
like a major downgrade.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
Now, look, maybe he'll go there and surprise us and
he'll be terrific. That would be great. I have nothing
against him whatsoever. But I'm just looking at it and
I'm like, wait a minute, Like this resume may doesn't
impress me, you know.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
And so.

Speaker 4 (38:36):
Again, they needed to move on from cal everybody knew that,
and they were able to save money, as you said,
But I mean, my goodness, it's just uh and you know,
Bringham Young it's not a powerhouse, but they've had They've.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
Been in the tournament more often than not.

Speaker 4 (38:54):
And you know, he just didn't didn't turn him around,
didn't didn't didn't work magic at that program. So I
don't know, it looks like they're gonna be down for
a little while. Rob, They're gonna be down for a
little while. I'm sure that they can't be that happy.

Speaker 5 (39:12):
I mean, I know that they're happy that Kyler Parri
Chris is moving on because it just had gotten stale
there bad, you know, three years in the row, right,
losing like they just it's just there was a time
for a change. But I thought that I'm sure the
fan base thought, Chris, it would be a little bit better.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
I bet you they thought they were getting a huge name.
I mean when you when you.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
Heard the names Danny Hurley, Billy Donovan, uh Natos from
you know, Alabama who turned him around, Like those weren't.

Speaker 3 (39:47):
Unrealistic, right, I mean it wasn't like, oh, they're not
no Kentucky blue blood.

Speaker 4 (39:54):
We both can agree on that, yes, And this is
they couldn't get anybody, and guys were pulling out left
and right.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
That's it bizarre. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (40:05):
I mean, I'm I don't even know if some guys
even let it get to a point where they knew
what type of money Kentucky was offering. But with their reputation,
their image, and you know, the money, I'm sure would
be good.

Speaker 5 (40:22):
But you would think that the money would be really good, Chris,
like I said, because because it wouldn't be Colla Pririe money.
So and because you didn't have to pay him off
right for him to go right, right, so it's not
like you're paying two coaches.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
Right now, I'm surprised by.

Speaker 4 (40:41):
This, but they, I think Willson, I mean, they obviously
like Pope. He was a player. As we said, they're
gonna give him some time. But I just I'm not
impressed at all. Right and now I also think as
much as I think they needed to move on from Kyle,
I think he's going to really bring a joe of

(41:03):
energy to Arkansas. I think, I mean, you know, he's
gonna go there. He's still a big name, he has
won a championship. I imagine he could still get good players.
Arkansas is a big enough program where you can bring
players there, and so I think he's going to have
some success there. And when you see Kentucky, you know,

(41:26):
founder as they may, it's gonna look pretty odd.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
Although this was the right move.

Speaker 5 (41:31):
For him as far as getting rid of him, right now,
it's still weird and you would have you would have
expected better.

Speaker 3 (41:37):
So this would be very very interesting.

Speaker 5 (41:39):
But it's one of their own, Chris, So you're right,
they'll probably give him a longer leash.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
Yep, yep, yep. So all right, it is the odd couple.

Speaker 4 (41:48):
You guys have a great weekend all the Eye Couple crew,
Rob y'all have a wonderful weekend.

Speaker 3 (41:54):
They flight to Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (41:56):
Thank you, my man, and keep it locked here on
Fox Sports rate because Jason Smith and Mike Harmon are
next and the Brothers bring a fire
