Speaker 3 (03:39):
Did he get it right? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Yeah, of course yeah. I mean he got as close
as he can get.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
You know, what is what is right?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Give us the question?

Speaker 6 (03:48):
So it's if you actually it's shy on Mohan guards.
But I would always say Mohan guards. But people can't
do the huh.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
So I don't know.

Speaker 6 (03:57):
I don't force you.

Speaker 7 (03:57):
I don't I have phlem so I can do it more.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, yeah, that balce, you got that. That's gotta be.
That's a drop right there, Yes, Alex, you got that right?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Okay, all right, Moncey Belaos in the rare Friday where
there's no Steve Disager.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
But Monz, it's amazing.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
You know, Monty's a big star on the radium. Shocked
that she's here on a Friday night.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Just hyeah. I mean she's slumming.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Yeah, she's going on the bigger and better things and
on the social media of the great Elijah Sebuna.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
All right, Rob, let's get to it now.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
The Lakers weird situation because they.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Have been playing fairly well.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
You know, they've been winning a lot of games, and
it's not like they're they look that bad.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
But Rob, they're They're not even the ninth seed anymore.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
They're the tenth seed in the West and likely is
not official yet, but likely to face Golden State in
the first right or in the plane and I should
say or it could be Sacramento. And Anthony Davis said
today they played at Grizzlies tonight. I think we're in

(05:11):
a great place. He can go on the two games
that we lost. I played a quarter and then Lebron
didn't play one. So he's talking about their injuries. But
that's you know, they still have lost plenty of games
with those two but he says at the bottom line
is I think we're in a great place.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
At the end of the day.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
No matter where you are in the standings, you still
have to win.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
For us, it's.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
About taking it one game at a time, whether that's
tenth place, ninth place, eighth, no matter where you are,
you can be the first seed. You still have to
win basketball games. So that's our mindset. No matter where
we are, we just gotta win. Now, that's the attitude
you should take. That's for sure. And they're forty five
and thirty five, which is not bad, but they are

(05:57):
the ten seed because they're tied with Sacramento and Golden State,
and those two teams have the tie breakers over the Lakers.
Rob So here's the question I want to throw out
to you and later to our listeners. If you're the Lakers,
would you rather face in that play in the first
play in one in done scenario, Sacramento or Golden State.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
I'd rather take Golden State, Chris, Golden State they were
able to manhandle.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
They had a matchup issue.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
Nobody to guard Anthony.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Right, nobody really to stop them. Last year.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
They couldn't do anything for whatever reason. Sacramento has their number, Chris, right,
I don't know what you got the numbers.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
The last they've owned the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Sacramento has been the Lakers eight of their last ten matchups. Yeah,
I mean, if any Davis has ever beaten de Moontis,
that's crazy. That's crazy. And nine against the bonus. Now,
in fairness, Rob, the Warriors are three and one against
the Lakers this year. Yeah, but the one game the

(07:14):
Lakers won was in overtime.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
I remember that that was a big company.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
They've had the Lakers number as well this year, but
last year they may handle the Warriors.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
In that playing game. Yeah, okay, but we're talking about
this year.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
No, I got it.

Speaker 5 (07:35):
I still would I still would take the Warriors over Sacramento. Sacramentos,
they have had a longer stretch of, for whatever reason,
Chris beating the Lakers. And it's shocking that that Anthony
has never beaten Sabonis. I mean, when you oh and
nine and you want to talk about we talk about
sample size all the time, Chris, that's a big sample size.

(07:57):
Oh and nine, Yep, that's me. Would I would take
I would take the Warriors.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Well, the Warriors in a one and done scenario.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Rob are scary.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
That is a scary proposition one and done for the
NBA players. Rob, you know, it's tough because you're not
used to the one and done. You're not used to
win or take all loser go home and watch with
the rest of the broadcasters.

Speaker 8 (08:26):
You know.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
And so to face the Warriors in a one and done.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
Situation, man, that's scary. That's scary.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
We saw it last night the other night when they
hit sixty three percent of their threes against the Lakers.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
So that I mean they can get hotter than any team.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
In the league because Steph Clay and they've got some
other good three point shooters too, So it's scary. I
would defin, I would take the Lakers in a set
games series with the Warriors, probably take them in the
play in, but I feel a lot less confident about
a play in one and done than seven game series.

(09:14):
The Kings, on the other hand, rob eight and one
against the Lakers in their last nine meetings, as we said,
and the problem they present to the Lakers is their speed.
The Aaron Fox. They just can't stay in front of him.
He's arguably the fastest guy in the league.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
With the ball. Should have drafted him. Imagine that.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
I mean, we see if he'd still be here, obviously,
but still, I mean real talk, you know, but he
breaks down their defense. AD has to help. This is
a simplistic thing of what happens a lot of times
when they play. But a d has to help and
then the Bonus can dominate the backboards, which he does

(09:59):
when he plays the Bakers.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Rob also, the Lakers will likely be on the road.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
They're the worst Western Conference playoff or play in team
on the road seventeen and twenty one. They're not good
away from the crypt for whatever reason. All that said, Rob,
I just wanted to add a little drama, I do
agree with you.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
I would take I would say yes, okay.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
And I'm not saying that they are.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
You know, they can't beat Sacramento, Rob, you and I
have covered the league long enough, We've seen own a
team in the regular season. Absolutely, so I'm not saying
the Lakers couldn't beat Sacramento in the play in.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
But of the.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Two, I think I'd rather face Golden State because they
have a the Lakers have a distinct advantage with Anthony Davis,
and also the le Bron If Lebron wants to play
big against the Warriors.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
He can't.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
They can't stop Lebron inside, right, he could have a
field day against them inside. Obviously a D can as well,
and so that's the big advantage they have.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Not Look, as I.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Said, the Warriors were three and one against the Lakers
this season. AD played in three of those games. The
Lakers were one in two in the three games that
Ad played, so they they've played him tough. But still
one game scenario robe Lebron doing whatever it takes, dominating
in side and Ad doing the same.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
With this defense, he changes everything.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
So I would I would rather if I'm the Lakers
face Golden State, and.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
You know what, Chris, Golden State could get hot as
some grease on a fish fry, right, they could. We saw,
we've seen it. But you if they do that, you
have to you cap. If they're gonna shoot sixty three
from three, Chris, you got no shot anyway. It doesn't
even matter, right matchups, It doesn't matter about anything what

(12:10):
an Ad did. If you're making threes at that clip,
you're not gonna beat, get beat.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
It doesn't matter, right, But.

Speaker 5 (12:18):
We've seen them also have the stinkers the bad nights.
Chris right and with the matchup and when Lebron and
ad they could beat the.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Warriors if they're not shooting the lights out. So I'm
with you. Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Like if the Lakers, I mean again, if they get
hot from three, so be it. But if the Lakers
play the right way offensively, at least I think they'll
be tough for the Warriors to stop. So let's start
out to the listeners eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
If you are the La Lakers, who would you rather face.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
In the one and done March Madness style playing game?
The Warriors, who you're won in three against this season,
or the Kings, who you're one in.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
Eight against over the last two plus years.

Speaker 1 (13:06):

All right, it's the Odd Couple.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Christ and Rob live fromthtire rag dot com studios. We
got Eddie House in about ten minutes. But first it's
your time to shine. Who do you think the La
Lakers should want to play in the play in Golden
State or Sacramento eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox

(14:57):
just turned.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Away in.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
All right, here we go Sean in Sacramento. You're in
the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Sean?

Speaker 8 (15:10):
Yeah, my uncles from another mother. My brother's mind the board?

Speaker 11 (15:13):
What up?

Speaker 8 (15:13):
Alix?

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Did to hear them?

Speaker 12 (15:15):
Big phones on the radio?

Speaker 6 (15:16):
Finally, mash Shane, my brother from another mother. I missed you.

Speaker 8 (15:20):
Sh Oh, my heart is broke, man, call me Shane.

Speaker 12 (15:24):
My man.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
I want you to be.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
I miss you, Dexter. You don't know how much I
missed you.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Oh my god, I get to hear from you.

Speaker 8 (15:39):
I'm not mad at you, Alex Man, keep it, keep
it playing player, but on this boat, man, look be
it from Sacramento.

Speaker 12 (15:44):
They have been terrible.

Speaker 8 (15:46):
Since losing Eleik month Man. As much as I don't want
to say, you know, don't mis AD's daddy, and they
have no anthemal Sacramento. This team hasn't been able to
beat anybody since losing both Kevin Herder and Malik Month.
That whole at shooting guard is just tremendous. The only
person that scored consistently right now is Dearing Fox. I mean,
some bonus had this double double streak and died. They

(16:08):
lost horribly to the Pelicans last night. They dropped the
nineteen point lead the other night to I forget who
it was, but they just looked bad. Man. Now, Lakers
are catching that at the bottom of momentum right now,
and I don't think anybody wants to play step when
the championship is on the line.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
No, that's a great point.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
They've lost four of their last five, and you're absolutely right.
I mean, those are two huge pieces, especially Monk, but
both of them. But Monk was he still could be
six Man of the year. He was going to be
my sixth Man of the year with him, Hurd, I
might go with nas Reed, but he's in the running

(16:44):
for sure.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
So that's a good call.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
That's a good call. Thanks Sean, appreciate the call. Andre.
Let's go to Dre in Massachusetts. You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Dra, how you doing?

Speaker 8 (16:56):
Thanks for taking the call.

Speaker 13 (16:57):
I'm gonna agree with Sean that that losing Elik Monks
he appears that he's up four to six weeks. That
is a notable loss for the Kings.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
At the same time, the.

Speaker 13 (17:06):
Lakers would much rather prefer to play the Golden State Warriors,
the aging Golden State Warriors, a team in transition than
the Sacramento Kings. Yes, Monkhuter, those are losses. I like
what I'm seeing from Keegan Murray and him coming up
improving his top five pick status, you know, and so
the less shots for those two kick and Murray uh

(17:26):
top three point shooter in the league.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Bottom line? Is there just year in the playoffs?

Speaker 13 (17:33):
Yes, And you know Mike Brown coming from the Golden
State Tree, He's going to have this team schemed up
ready to win those close games. Their battle with Golden
State last year in the first round, you know, a
three six matchup where they you know, lost a very
good series. You know, I think those are the type
of things that they're going to take into this playing
tournament and just be a little you know, just have
that edge.

Speaker 11 (17:52):
Golden State.

Speaker 13 (17:52):
They're just a train, you know, they're they're not moving
in the same direction, and they're already looking I feel like,
you know, what's the elephant in the room is it's
over for this group after the season Clay Draymond, you know,
and so they've been.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
Playing well though. If they make it.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
The only way I think they stay together is if
they make a deep run and that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
They get knocked out. Uh, they probably have to look
at this Chris and be no, if.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
They get knocked out of the playing yeah, I think
they're gonna they're gonna rebuild.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Yeah, rebuild eight seven seven knocks.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
You know, they may not want to jump in if
they don't get locked knocked out.

Speaker 13 (18:30):
You know.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
I think they're a team that potentially their ceiling I
think would be like the Western Conference finals if they
make that type of run rob the Warriors. I could see,
you know, ownership bringing back Clay obviously Draymond's under contract,
steps under contract and looking at it like, Okay, what's
the one piece we need to go get. The young

(18:53):
kids are starting to play well. Trace Jackson Davis has
been really nice this year year. Jonathan Kaminga has finally,
you know, come into his own and I think he's only.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Going to get better. Uh.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Their role players are playing well, obviously, Brandon Putting, Zimski
and so uh you know, Gary Payton the second Moses movie.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
Like they're they're clicking at the right time.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Rob.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
They've had the fourth best record in the NBA.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
Since January twenty eighth, So the Warriors when you said that, yeah, yeah, yeah,
I mean as well as the Lakers have been playing
the as far as winning games, the Warriors have actually
wanted a higher clip over the last couple of months.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
So that's all.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
That's what they need to do, though, Rob, to try
to keep this thing together. Let me ask you this,
what if the Lakers go out in the first round,
like in the play in what type of changes do
you think they would try to make Criticizing him, I
mean he might yeah yeah, yeah, Look, I mean you

(20:00):
know how it is somebody. I don't think he's done
a bad jobs. He's not been perfect, Chris.

Speaker 5 (20:05):
They won the play in tournament, they went to the
Western Conference. That wasn't four years ago, that was less
than a year ago. Like, I think it would be
unfair and I'm not trying to make any excuses for Darmenham.
I know Rob g doesn't like his coaching, and he's
a Laker guy, watches every game and lives and dies
with it. But I think fans Chris can be emotional,

(20:27):
you know what I mean, And and sometimes you know,
it's just like, well, my team isn't where it is,
or I think they're not good or whatever whatever. But
I don't I think it would be unfair. But we
know how this league works, you know, we just know
how it works, Chris, and somebody will be the fall guy.
And if it's not the Rob Polinka, then it's gonna

(20:47):
be Darwin Hand.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
I don't think it would be Polinka.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
And you're right, if there is a major change like that,
it's likely to be Darvin Hen.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
They talked about going for a star. Kyrie not gonna
be available. I mean, unless something crazy happens in the
postseason with Dallas Trey Young they want.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
I think Trey would fit good with.

Speaker 5 (21:09):
Them, But yeah, uh, Will in Atlanta, you're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
What's up, Will Man?

Speaker 11 (21:16):
How are you guys doing on a Friday?

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Man? How are you I'm.

Speaker 11 (21:20):
I'm just loving life. We finally got the windiness to
stop and should be a beautiful weekend, very nice.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Enjoy here.

Speaker 11 (21:28):
Yes, I got a question. So I think I think
almost no matter what happens in the playoffs, pieces with
Golden State are gonna get moved. There's no doubt about it.
Which pieces, I guess there's some questions there, but pieces
are gonna get moved.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
So you think even if they went and again not
saying they're definitely going to but even if they got
to the conference finals, you think they would break all
this up.

Speaker 11 (21:54):
Well, I just I just don't think there's any way
to keep everybody's got on payroll and and it's you're
wasting Steph's years.

Speaker 12 (22:03):
So they have to make something.

Speaker 11 (22:04):
But here's my question, given that sort of hanging over
the playoffs, over the team, the organization, does that really
does that serve as a motivation, especially for step Clay
and Draymond, to say, guys, let's do this thing. This
is our this is our last shot.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Yeah, I would say yes, Are they capable that's another question,
But I would imagine Rob that knowing that, look, if
we don't play, well, it's over Clay's probably gone, Draymond
might be gone. They might try to trade him. Yes,
I would absolutely think that's big time motivation, and Rob

(22:45):
it may have already been motivation that that may have
have sparked their improved play of late.

Speaker 5 (22:52):
It's certainly a lot better sometimes, Chris. Uh, it might
work for a short period of time. But it's not
just not that easy to say, hey, let's just play
better because this could be the last time.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
No, it's I mean, they still got to get it done.

Speaker 5 (23:07):
But exactly, sometimes you're just not as good, or you
can't keep up with other people, or they're younger, or
they have more energy or whatever it is. So there's
a combination. But but I hear you. I just think that.
And we talked about it before. I can't remember who
we had on it. I talked about the Celtics, Chris,
when they didn't trade Bird, McHale or Parish.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Remember, they held onto the whole deal, and I get it.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
They had a great squad and they didn't want to
get rid of anybody. And the only thing that happened
after that is the Celtics went like twenty one or
twenty two years without winning anything.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Right, that's what happened. I mean usually after a dynasty
rib there's a down period. Yeah, that's just how it is.
So all right, you guys will be able to weigh
in again next hour. We got any house around the corner.
But first, here's Moncey Belanos with the update.

Speaker 14 (23:56):
MONSI Hi, guys, be hanging out with you.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
I am well, thank you.

Speaker 14 (24:03):
I am just happy that I get to be part
of the odd couple every now and then. I'm also
here next week, so get excited.

Speaker 6 (24:09):
Get excited, fellas, Yes.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
The whole week.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
No, not the whole week.

Speaker 11 (24:13):
I'm here.

Speaker 14 (24:13):
I think Wednesday with you guys that I was like,
oh yeah, because I'm you know, I have to fight
Brian Finley for this shift.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
You know, yeah, yeah, it's a very well in shift.

Speaker 5 (24:25):
You wants to do updates on god leadership, I'm just saying, oh,
I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
Oh, no comment.

Speaker 14 (24:31):
Let's move on to the NBA Scars right now, the
seventy sixer start beating the Magic twenty three seventeen four
minutes to go in the first quarter.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
The Wizards with the early lead over the Bulls as.

Speaker 14 (24:42):
Well, thirty to fourteen, about five minutes to go in
the first quarter, Earlier today was reported that Yukon seven
foot two sophomore Donovan Klingen is going to enter the
twenty twenty four NBA Draft now. Earlier today was also
reported that Shoho Tani's former interpreter, Ipemizuhara, surrendered himself to authorities.
He was in Core in Los Angeles and the latest

(25:03):
on that. According to the Athletic, he did not enter
a plea deal. He was released on twenty five thousand
dollars bond. He isn't allowed to contact Shoheo Tani or
leave the Central District of California without permission. He will
be required to undergo a Gambler's addiction program. His arraignment
hearing is scheduled for May ninth. So that is the
latest with Ipe Mitsuhara. At the Master's second round continues.

(25:26):
There's currently a three way tie between Scotty Scheffler, Bryson Deshambo,
and Max Homa. They are all six hunder par overall.
Scheffler is still going in the second round. He is
through seventeen holes to Shambo and Homa are done for
the day. Tiger Woods ended plus one. He becomes the
first golfer in history to make twenty four consecutive cuts

(25:48):
at the Masters. Right now, the cut looks like it's
going to be plus five. It's been between plus four
plus five all day. In Major League Baseball, we've got
games going on. The Pirates are up on the Phillies
one zero, top of the four, raised beating the Giants
one zero, top of the third. The Brews with the
early lead over the Orioles, two zero, top of the second.
A tie game between the Rockies and the Blue Jays.

(26:09):
It's one one top of the second. The Angels have
added another run. They're beating the Red Sox three zero,
top of the second. The Braves up on the Marlins
one zero, bottom of the second, and the Royals are
beating the Mets in New York one zero. They're about
to start the bottom of the second inning. Back to
you guys, all right, thank you, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
All right.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
Our next guest is an NBA champion, a three point sniper,
NBC Sports Boston broadcaster, Fox Sports Radio, NBA analyst, none
other than the Great Eddie House E House. What's up, man, Yeah,
how y'all feeling you're great?

Speaker 12 (26:55):
I'm doing good, man, I'm doing really good. I'm doing
really weird playoffs about to.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Start, Baba, Yes, absolutely, we threw it out to our listeners.
You talked about the playoffs, Well, you got to play
in first and the Lakers right now the Tennessee looks
like they're going to face either Sacramento or Golden State
in the play in.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
If you're the Lakers, which team would you rather face?

Speaker 1 (27:23):
And if your mentality is hate, bringing on whoever it is,
But who do you think they have a better chance of,
you know, beating Sacramento or Golden State.

Speaker 12 (27:33):
Sacramento all day, Sacramento, that's who you want to play. Sacramento.
You don't know what today. They've been inconsistent. Remember Sacramento
early on was one of the best teams in the West,
and it seemed like they're inconsistency. Have them where they're
at right now? You know, they haven't been and they
it's not like they haven't been healthy like that. They've
been relatively healthy throughout the season. But it's the I

(27:55):
would say I would be worried about playing the Golden
State wars I don't care in the playing and if
if the Warriors, when they're in the playing and they
get in the playoffs, that's some team you gotta be
worried about. I'm sorry, that team with the championship pedigree,
the way Steph Curry's playing, Klay Thompson finally looks like
his legs and he trusts his legs, and his game

(28:15):
is catching up with underneath his legs. I gotta go
with you know, I will much rather play Sacramento than
the Warriors.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Yea, even though car say what the one and done
is scary?

Speaker 12 (28:29):
Yeah, I mean, I know it's one and done, but
I mean it doesn't even matter. I mean, one of done,
you could get beat by anybody on any given night.
But if I had to pick who I wanted to
do and the tournament, shout out to the tournament the
way everything that I'm talking about ANCUAA, both men's and
women this is kind of like a similar spin off
of that, just a small sample of it. Shout out

(28:49):
to that. But I mean, come on, man, that's the
easy answer for me is I will much rather see
the Sacramento Kings and have to deal with Steph Curry
and the championship pedigree that the Warriors bring.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
What should we expect from the Milwaukee Bucks in the postseason?

Speaker 12 (29:05):
It is Johannis there. That's the question, you know.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
There the whole time, right, he's gonna be out there.
It's possible he'll be out the rest of the season,
but yeah.

Speaker 12 (29:14):
He might be able to get back for the beginning
of the playoffs. But if he's there, I mean, you
got to always give them a shot. You know, you
would think that they'll be able to get it together.
I think they have a really a great coach in
Doc Rivers. I think that they also have a really
good players, and you know, championship pedigree players. Again, you
can't knock guys that's been there before, you know. And

(29:37):
you know when they talk about the proverbial switch that
people uh somehow just all of a sudden flip and
then you're like, oh man, yeah, they flipped the switch.
I mean, championship teams know what it takes and sometimes
they coach through it. We've seen the Warriors do it
when they won the last last championship.

Speaker 5 (29:54):
Also see Milwaukee get knocked out right prematurely in series
and even though they won a championship.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
So it's not automatic just because you agree that's not
what I win.

Speaker 12 (30:05):
That's not what I'm saying. But I am saying I
have to give them and acknowledge the fact that they
do have that pedigree and they do know how to
get it going. We did see Gianni's a guy that
can't make free throws, right, that everybody says can't make
free throws. Well, he went nineteen for twenty or something
like that in a clothes off game.

Speaker 5 (30:22):
No, that was the one, right, the one buggaboo. He
actually overcame, and then was it last year? He had
the free throw shooting problem last year, right, that came back.

Speaker 12 (30:31):
Yeah, but we seen him actually do it and win.
So you can't ever knock that. At the end of
the day, you cannot knock that. You could knocked everything else.
But he had showed up when he was in the
finals and they needed him to make those free throws.
He showed up and he made those. So I never
want to knock them and discredit them. But they look
like there's something going on internally though, to be honest

(30:52):
with you, I mean, they just don't look like the
team that everybody expected them to be. I feel like
they're not on the same page a lot of times
defensively and even offensively. I feel like they're still trying
to figure out how do they go Do they go
through Dames? Do they go through Joannison? With Gianni's out?
And Middleton I think is the key. He's been injured
all year long, in and out of the lineup, so

(31:13):
it's really tough to get a gauge on them. But
I don't. I don't want to discredit a champion.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
You mentioned how teams can go through Luws Boston. It's
just they've lost too straight. They've lost five four of
their last nine. Any concern should should Celtics fans have
any concern? They've been blown out pretty much the last
two games against the Bucks and the Knicks. Or you
think this is just a team kind of going through

(31:42):
the motions because they've clinched everything.

Speaker 12 (31:45):
Oh my god, Chris, the sky is falling.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Your home, Rackt.

Speaker 12 (31:54):
The sky is falling on the number one seed that
had nothing to play for since a week and a
half ago.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
But not lose like that again, concerns?

Speaker 12 (32:05):
I really don't.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
Man.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
I look, I think they're my pick to win the East,
but I am not. I am more confident in Denver
winning the West. I shouldn't say that because they got
a tougher competition, but I just don't feel very certain
about them, even though they're my pick. I think they're
the best team.

Speaker 4 (32:24):
I think the East is all messed up and there's
ly nobody challenge. No, I'm not, I'm just too many.
The other night they don't even get a free throw.
I mean, I just they got it. Sometimes they rely
too much on the tray.

Speaker 12 (32:41):
No, that's that's not true. If you watch the games
every single game. I watch every single game. I watched
every single game, and they don't rely on a three
like that. They shoot the three because that's what the
offense usually dictates because they're cracking guys off the dribble.
Defense is helping. They kick it out to a guy
that's shooting an open shot. Now you make her miss
that shot. Okay, cool. Some nights you making a bunch

(33:02):
of them. Sometimes you don't make a bunch of them.
But the thing is that they have the number one
overall seed throughout the playoffs. So Game seven is going
to have to go through Boston. If any Game seven
happens in their conference on their way to the finals,
and if it happens in the finals of Game seven,
it's going to be on their home court. That's what

(33:22):
you play for. They want sixty something games and lost
what eighteen or nineteen games, and we're acting like, man,
it's a problem because they lost the last two games.
It's hard for motivation. And this day and age is
different from the day and age that we're used to watching,
where if you're out there, everybody's killing and everybody's going
to be a killer and there's grown man out there.

(33:43):
This is a different era of basketball that we're watching.
And I'm not saying that they're not competitive, because they
are competitives. Hell, that's the reason why they have the
record that they have. But at the same time, you
could look and say, well, damn, what is it? You know,
we got three games left? Like they really don't mean anything,
you know what I mean. Now, it'd be different somebody's

(34:04):
playing for us quarantinle you'll see somebody going a little harder,
you know, if somebody's trying to get in on whatever,
they're trying to get in on the you know all
defensive team. And I've seen Jalen Brown playing hard last
night on the defensive end. I've seen him pick up Brunson.
I've seen to pick up Brunch in ninety four feet
we did. Brust the gave everybody some of that thirty nine.

(34:26):
Though he gave everybody. It wasn't just it wasn't bring
his ball, and he gave everybody some of that. Port
Zingis got something. Jason Tatum got some, Uh Brown got
what I'm saying. They all got a taste of that
thirty nine. So you tip your cap to the guy
like that, he's a baller. What do you expect he's
a ball and shold our hand either though, I don't

(34:49):
I think that this is other things. Let me tell
you about last night's game. I think that that was
a great informative game information game for the Celtics. They
were able to look at exactly what the Knicks like
to game in and game out and you could plan
for that.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
Okay, no, that's fair.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
Quickly before you go, who's your MVP, It's gotta be quick.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
I'm going with Luca right now.

Speaker 12 (35:12):
I mean, Luca's been killing man. I would have to
say it is either Luca or Jokics. I will give
the nods. I ain't gonna make the pick. I'm good
the nod to Luca because the way that their team
are steamrolling to the back end of this season and
the way they've came together. And actually he's picked up
his defensive intensity on that side of the ball. He's

(35:35):
playing a lot harder than he has ever played before
him both.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
To me, good luck.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
You guys will both be wrong. Okay, it's the Joker,
now we know. I mean, Joker gonna win. But that
don't mean we're wrong. I mean it's just people's opinions.
So but yeah, Joker's gonna win. But I think it's Luca. Yeah, Eddie,
great stuff, brother, We appreciate.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
Look, if Boston doesn't get out.

Speaker 7 (35:55):
Of the East, you went off on us, just as
you better not.

Speaker 12 (36:06):
Even I'm not worried about that as I'm wearing my
championship ring right now and right right now.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Yeah, but you know, I hope you're thin.

Speaker 12 (36:18):
Man about to y'all.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Beat in Denver.

Speaker 5 (36:21):
That's that that that ship, that championship ring is so
old it's turned your finger, Gray Greedy.

Speaker 12 (36:28):
Don't ever get old.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
Don't ever forget that.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
You know that's the house.

Speaker 12 (36:34):
Man, All right, y'all, take care Yep, More Eye.

Speaker 4 (37:07):
It's time for Shekel City two.

Speaker 11 (37:11):
Shekel City, the home base for Rob Parkers Dally Dix
against the spread.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
All right, here we go a little Shekel City on
a Friday night. Let's go a little baseball to start.
I got the Washington Nationals in Oakland, Chris, Washington Nationals
plus one and a half runs taking on the Oakland age.
As bad as everything has been, Chris attendance wise, they're
five and eight.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
It's not like they're one in, you know, one and
eight better than the Astros.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
They are, my god, the Astros are Chris four and
ten so.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Far, I'm just a yeah.

Speaker 5 (37:50):
So there we go as far as that. That's gonna
be my best bet tonight. And then let's go to
some NBA action. We'll that and on the NBA. Okay,
of course, I misplaced my NBA bets.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
All right, Uh, the NBA, I know, I'm sorry.

Speaker 6 (38:11):
I'm taking I think he misremembers.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
The Dallas Mavericks. I'm sorry. Here we go, the Dallas Mavericks.
I know, I'm.

Speaker 5 (38:19):
Sorry, Dallas Mavericks Chris minus eleven and a half they
host the Detroit Pistons. And I'm also going to take
the Denver Nuggets minus eleven and a half. They're on
the road taking on the San Antonio Spurs. So I
got the Washington Nationals plus one and a half runs
best bet Denver minus eleven and a half in San Antonio,

(38:44):
thank you. And I have the Dallas Mavericks minus eleven
and a half hosting the Detroit Pistons. And remember, I'm
not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you
who I better gig up.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
All right, there you have it, all right, Rob.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
We talked about this with Eddie House.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
The Knicks blew away the Celtics. Of course, nothing's wrong
with the Celtics, of course, And I think you know
nobody fine, but you could like we can't ask, like
like we're crazy to ask the question. Knicks have been
playing well, they blew out Milwaukee. We know they've been
going through all types of issues. But the Knicks have

(39:27):
won four of their last five rob They've moved up
to the third seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. As
it sits right now, they'll probably stay there, but they'll
get Indiana or Orlando. We don't know how it's gonna
play out right now. But how dangerous do you think

(39:47):
the Knicks are?

Speaker 2 (39:48):
Like? What what do you think is their ceiling in
the playoffs? Chris?

Speaker 5 (39:53):
I know, I don't want to sound like a down
a Debbie downer, but I just I won't believe it
until until I see them advance to the what to
the Eastern Conference Finals? Could they get to the second round? Absolutely,
I'm just not there. I mean, I've seen the whole year,
and I don't mean I watch every single game, but
I've seen them play well and win a lot of games.

(40:13):
And and people in New York are thrilled, you know,
long suffering Knick fans. Chris, they're they're they're thrilled. All
my friends, you know, they they text me all the
time and they're excited and whatnot.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
And I'm not mad at.

Speaker 5 (40:27):
Them for not for for being exciting, because it has
been a long road and things haven't gone well. But
do I think they're coming out of the easter, are
going to be in the West and the Eastern Conference finals.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
No, I don't.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
I think their ceiling is the Eastern Conference Finals. I
think they're being Look, the East Ride is a mess.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
East is a mess.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
You got Boston, which obviously has had a great year.
Milwaukee's best player, Giannis is hurt. We don't know when
he'll be back, and even when he's back, they've been
mightily Philadelphia. I mean, they got their best player MB back,
but you know, we just gotta wait and see.

Speaker 4 (41:09):
Right, he's only been back for a couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
Will he be able to stay in rhythm and hit
mid season form and so on and so forth. Miami
not giving you anything. You always talk about heat culture,
Oh here come the playoffs and yeah, maybe, but they
have not looked good for the majority of this season.
Cleveland has its issues Indiana and Orlando or young upstarts,

(41:34):
but nobody's afraid of them. So yeah, in that type
of East Rock, they could get to the conference finals.
But that's the ceiling. I don't see him beating Boston.
Jalen Brunson is playing great, rob probably be second team
All NBA. He's having a phenomenal year. And here's the
other thing with the Knicks. Rob Tom Thibodeau's teams have

(41:55):
had this history, great regular seasons, but then don't have
that extra gear to kick in in the playoffs and
they a lot of times go out in disappointing fashion.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
Keep in Lock two hours left Eye.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
A couple
