This has been a home series, right, the team has
won all the games. And I do think, Rob, you
picked the Pacers. I initially picked the Knicks in six.
I think I feel now like they will win it
in seven.

Look the Pacers, and I know if they lose this series,
and look, they can say we're the sixth seed.

But Mitchell Robbin is out, o Giannanobi is out, and Jalen.

Brunson you know, is playing with at least a foot
that's not one hundred percent. I know he played great
last game, but still, Rob, I'm just saying, in situations
like this, Rob, you should win this series. The Knicks
aren't your typical two seed right where there to be feared,
and their talent.

Pacers blowout of the Knicks one night, right.

but a terrible take. This take was almost as bad,

and Rob g go about five or six deep. I
might go ten twelve deep deep. I put right, I
put no, no, no, I'll tell you I don't go
deep enough to have Brunton in there, right, I could
go deep enough to have Mitchell in there. I think
Mitchell is is a superstar or better than a higher

on the list than Brunson. But let me ask you, this,
is there anything Jalen Brunson can do this season to
make you think he's a superstar?

No, because I know, and I'm gonna just say it,
not even win the championship. Chris First, I would take
a look at his path to the championship and how
weak it was. I would look at that and say,
this is an outlier, this is a fluke. I would
And that's no disrespect to what he did, Chris none.
I want people to understand that I'm not dissing him, right,

but I would look at that. Superstar status is more
than just winning a championship. It just like you just
can't win a championship out of nowhere and then oh
he's a superstar and that's the end of it.

You're there. You're that guy, no matter who joined the team,
no matter who's on the court. You know, like a
lot of stuff that would go into it, not just strictly.

they've won finals, MVP, they want MVPs right.

I just do not feel in my bones that Jalen
Brunson is a superstar. And look, if they were to
somehow in this championship beat a healthy Denver team or
Minnesota or whoever Dallas comes out of the West, beat
Boston and he's putting up forty or thirty five to

forty a night like he has been, I mean, I
would feel compelled to say okay, but I do think
I don't know if I feel comfortable saying it. I
might have to just give it to him because it's like,
look at what he did, but I don't know that
I feel comfortable with it, Rob, And this is what
it is. You remember little Isaiah Thomas Robbed with the Celtics,

he finished fourth in MVP voting. Had I remember absolutely
get paid prins plus games, yep, led him to the
Eastern Conference finals.

No one was saying he was a superstar.

Even a year ago, he was not the best player

you can say, well, he really was better than than

All Star Brunson didn't. Julius Randall is the one who
was third team All NBA. Brunson was not All the NBA.

Were a role player for the first four years of
your career, never made an All Star team in the
first five years of your career to all of.

how Chicago was with Derrick Rose. It was like, oh,
they could, they might win the championship. Like that, I
would the Knicks would have to be like an elite
team and he is carrying them next year for me
to say okay, and I don't even know if he

does all that, Rob, I don't necessarily have to wait
till the playoffs.

And I know people say well, wow, those are crazy now,

leading the Knicks the clear best player.

They're on the same tier as Boston and Milwaukee and Philly.
When they're healthy, like they're right there. Then I'll say, okay, dude,
look he's this is the second third great third, very
good year for him, second spectacular year. He's carrying his
team to elite levels. Something like that would have to

happen before I'm ready to say, Okay, he's grown into
a superstar.

But we're ways away from that. I'm with you.

I just think it's too premature, too prisoner of the moment.
And I get it, you're a Nick fan. They haven't
won anything in a gazillion years. That's a big part.

And if he was in Sacramento with people beings that,
that's that's what it's all about.

Like they just can't get over like the Knick's irrelevant.

he's got a ring, he's got some gravitas. Is it

done it by this point, is he gonna start doing

of John Wooden. I don't think it wins with this team, man,
because you need roster changes that because of the second

his then girlfriend Cassie, where she had alleged that he
was abusing her physically emotionally. Today, CNN released a videotape
showing that he was physically assaulting her in a hotel
entryway to an elevator and throughout the hallway. So it

was a really gruesome video. If you don't want to
see it, I understand. But here's the question, guys. We've
known about this allegation for years now. This is from
twenty sixteen, and yet since then, up until his other
legal issues did he was still out and about, He
was still making music.

He was still, you know, a.

Forward facing individual. Rob Parker, start with you. Now that
this video has come to light, however, do you believe
things will change in the way that people view P Diddy?

Mitchell is is a superstar or better than a higher

on the list than Brunson. But let me ask you, this,
is there anything Jalen Brunson can do this season to
make you think he's a superstar?

No, because I know, and I'm gonna just say it,
not even win the championship. Chris First, I would take
a look at his path to the championship and how
weak it was. I would look at that and say,
this is an outlier, this is a fluke. I would
And that's no disrespect to what he did, Chris none.
I want people to understand that I'm not dissing him, right,

but I would look at that. Superstar status is more
than just winning a championship. It just like you just
can't win a championship out of nowhere and then oh
he's a superstar and that's the end of it.

You're there. You're that guy, no matter who joined the team,

would feel compelled to say okay, but I do think
I don't know if I feel comfortable saying it. I

look at what he did, but I don't know that

he finished fourth in MVP voting. Had I remember absolutely

and so he's the face of it. He jumps up
in status. But I mean he's an All NBA player.

question is where do you draw that superstar line. My thing,

Is it trade Julius Randall, maybe put some picks with
him to get another type of star player, or do
you think it's just bring back Randall and now him
and Brunson are your big two or what do you
think they do to get to the next level?

And offseason rand and aren't enough, man, if you need
one more high level shot creator player, and you know, look,
guys are available.

We know some of Donovan's out there. I don't know
if that's really a rate fit because the Knicks have
reached the point where we know what their culture is,
we know what their identity is. So if you're getting somebody,
you've got to get somebody who fits that identity, Like, hey,
three Young's available, horrible fit, Like, no, don't don't do that,

but the right gritty superstar comes available. To use an
easy example, Paul George. Now, I don't know if they're
getting him. I don't know that he's available. But if
Paul George comes available yet plug and play dude, like,
he'd be great.

Would you want to trade Randall like for a Paul
George type? You think that something like that, because I
don't feel like they're much.

inside and if you give up on Randall, I love Hartenstein,
but like he's not that I do. No, No, yeah,

and pieces that help you if you're a rebuilding team.

And that's where the problem is with the Clippers because
they're still gonna have Kawhi Leonard. They're not going to
see themselves that way.

is such a risk, Like I don't he might be

But I think what you Donna's Hashim said on the

that's necessarily what are you do you?

What do you hear about Sam Cassell? I mean, he's
obviously been an assistant for a while under was a

You worry about the guys who never quite get that shot.

the other thing that Bunolver's teams have always just launched

from three here. We wants this team to take a
lot of threes, and Bill Booker and Durant are mid
range assassins, And I just, I just is it a
fit guys? I mean, you've got the biggest name, You've
got a guy who comes in with a certain that
he's got a ring, he's got some gravitas. Is it
a fit guy?

That's a great point because I've been saying for years,
why doesn't Durant shoot more threes? And if he hasn't
done it by this point, is he gonna start doing
it next year?

You know so right, Like I I think that's a
good point.

Look, I think Buonoza probably makes him a little better
than Vocal did, although I think should have been fired necessarily.
But let's not drop the standard for this team when
they went, when they were brought together was like, they're
gonna win the championship, right, come close, And I don't
think they're getting there anymore.

Even though I think is a good coach.

So look, he's a good coach, but he's a resurrector
of John Wooden. I don't think it wins with this team, man,
because you need roster changes that because of the second
tax ache when they can't.

Make they can't make it. They don't. They don't have enough, right,
there's no space, there's no money. I don't know. They
can't add to it.

Yeah, they don't have a mid level exception next year.

had other people I talked to when he can't go left,
he can't shoot, why would I want? What? No, No,
he's you know, there's some stuff with the physicals, but
like he's so far away, and you know, that group's
comment is basically like if he weren't Lebron James's son,

he'd be back in college next year and that's probably best.

But and you expect the Lakers to draft him, don't you.
I mean, like I expect them on the Lakers next year.

I think that's the floor. They have the heat with
a number fifty five pick or whatever it is. Y Yeah,
Like I think that's the floor, right, Like, if he
gets to that point, the Lakers would take him. And frankly,
at that point, again from everything I've heard talking to people,
maybe that's not a bad role or the dice at
that point where that guy look the number, the number

fifty through sixty picks. There are exceptions out there, the
manager Nobles and the Isaiah Thomases, but in general he
ain't find him my there. So like, if you think
Ronnie could work out, then that's not a terrible roll
of the dice there, But he's got a long way
to go from everybody ever talked.

Denver? Ultimately, as much as I want to I want chaos,

And then Chris jumped in there real quick, but I
get it is her we're short on time, but as
you guys know, you mentioned it earlier at the top
of the hour, there was a very disturbing video that
came out earlier. On Friday, CNN obtained a copy of
the video that had showed what had before today been

an alleged incident between P Diddy, Sean Puffy Combs, and
his then girlfriend Cassie, where she had alleged that he
was abusing her physically emotionally. Today, CNN released a videotape
showing that he was physically assaulting her in a hotel
entryway to an elevator and throughout the hallway. So it
(35:47):
was a really gruesome video. If you don't want to
see it, I understand. But here's the question, guys. We've
known about this allegation for years now. This is from
twenty sixteen, and yet since then, up until his other
legal issues did he was still out and about, He
was still making music.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
He was still, you know, a.
Speaker 11 (36:06):
Forward facing individual. Rob Parker, start with you. Now that
this video has come to light, however, do you believe
things will change in the way that people view P Diddy?
Speaker 4 (36:17):
Absolutely, When people see stuff for themselves, Chris, like with
their own eyes. It's like the Ray Rice.
Speaker 5 (36:26):
Oh he got into a scuffle with his girl whatever,
And before you see the video, people were like, well,
you don't know what happened, Chris.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
When you saw that video, I don't think it was any.
Speaker 5 (36:37):
Question to anybody that that was a heinous act and
that it was one that people could not unsee. And
when you see Diddy Pete Diddy doing what he did
in his video, kicking her, hitting.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
Her, didn't he throw a vase at her?
Speaker 4 (36:57):
Yeah? Just just ridiculous like it is.
Speaker 5 (37:00):
It is appalling, Chris, and I can't unwatch that or
unsee that. And there's no way anybody in their right
mind would a want to do business with them and
be h endorse anything.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
He's done. What No, I'm out on Diddy. Yeah he's done.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
Is the front front facing you know, like Rod, what
what was the term used?
Speaker 11 (37:26):
Entertainer?

Right?

Yeah, forward face? I mean, yeah, he's done. And that
was terrible and the audacity to think about how full
of himself that dude is to do that.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
I mean it's just terrible. Wherever you do it, no.

Hotel lobby where people might be walking out of their rooms.
I mean you would think he might even think are
there possibly cameras around?
Speaker 5 (37:57):
I mean it's one moreland that right, every everything is
covered with cameras, everything everywhere we are except for the bathroom, everywhere.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Chris right to think he can.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
He clearly was up the mindset I can do whatever
the heck I want to do. I am tefline and
that it's just terrible. Yeah, he should be done in
that respect.
Speaker 4 (38:23):
I'm with you, Chris. Let's get Mary's take on this.

Mary as a female, just what you saw and you're young,
but the Diddy, you know P Diddy and everything, what'd
you take from that video?
Speaker 3 (38:34):
Well, I don't know if you guys read the entire like.
Speaker 10 (38:38):
His the case that she built around him, but it's
very like upsetting and honestly as a female, and then
like knowing that he does also had a lot of
ties to her startup and stuff.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
It really is sad.
Speaker 10 (38:49):
But I think for a long time, you know, if
you know P. Diddy, then it's like it's one of
those things where it's like, yeah, it's a rumor and
you know, conspiracy, but now it's final. Yeah, now you
find we have hard evidence proof and yeah, it just
goes say show like you know, sometimes women do not
make up a lot of stories, so.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
Right cause that's always the thing, all that made it up.
You don't know proof. It's her word.
Speaker 4 (39:13):
It's her word against my word, right, I mean, And
that that's for the most part is what happens Chris.
But here when you have the video, Oh no, that.

Was terrible, and you try to drag her like she's
a piece of what was he picking up her stuff too?
Speaker 3 (39:27):
Like what was that like? It was like he didn't
even I don't know. No, that's terrible.
