Speaker 1 (00:53):
Com is the way tirebind should be, and this right here,
The Odd Couple is the way sports talk radio shit be.
We got Leonard Ellerby, CEO of Mayweather Productions, joins us
at the bottom of the hour.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
That'll be fun.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
You get us ready for the big Tank Davis fight.
So Rob, what's up man? It's good to be on
with you. Know what's happening to mister christ saw you good? Yeah?
An experience trying to get home. Huh yeah, the tunnels
and uh, you know that the trains run through from
New York to New Jersey. We're down power outage and
(01:30):
I'm not sure if they're up now. So and Rob
Penn's station because I was on the train come home
because they kept But now, like first I was listening
to something, you know, I have my EarPods on, and
I start seeing people like get up and get off.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Not a lot, but a few.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Then well, and then we were it was ten minutes
after we were supposed to leave, and we were had moved.
And so then I asked somebody that was still in
on the train. I said, they make an announcement about something,
and that's when they told me. Then they made another announcement.
So I actually got up, went upstairs to the station,
got like a smoothie, and it was jam packed because
(02:11):
all the trains were like none of them were running.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
So and then I went back down, got back on
the train, hoping, you know, we might leave eventually. And
then after I don't know, an hour or so, I
just gave up on it. And then Uber was I
was deciding do I want to Uber? Because I knew,
you know, Uber would be crazy expensive with all the.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
True four hundred dollars to get home. Huh, not that much.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
But when you you know, because when I leave first
things first, I'm usually leaving at five o'clock. I'm leaving
like in my car at five o'clock. But I beat
it generally, I just beat it. But if i'm like
fifteen minutes later, it.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
Makes a big difference, just totally different. Like don't talk
to me on the way out, like I gotta go.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Right exactly exactly because if you if you wait too, if.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
You if you miss your window in a certain place,
the same thing in La out here, if you got
a window, Chris, and if you take a little extra time,
it'll cost.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
You in trouble.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Yeah, no doubt, all right.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
I mean it'll turn into like an hour longer, you know.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
To have you back for the last hour.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
Yes, yes, but I do want you to know I
did speak to Scott and Don and you will only
get a third of your pay, Okay, I wouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Actually I'm hoping to get the whole day. See, I
wouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Uh, all right, ins IDNB obviously robbed. The NBA now
has deals new TV deals. They're leaving TN T.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Chris. We talked about this, didn't we.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
I mean, like like when when the president or boss
of T n T said that T and T could
survive without the NBA.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
That was a precursor, right, you knew because he said that.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
On the record up yep, so you knew it was coming.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
So NBA will be on what ROB G, ESPN, NBC
and Amazon Prime yep. And so now everybody's lamenting the
demise of inside the NBA. Ernie Johnson has said he's
not leaving TN T.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
He's sixty one years old. He's probably comfortable in Atlanta,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
And not only that, you know his dad worked there, Chris, Yes,
I remember for a long time their lawyer. He's loyal.
He's not going.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Anywhere, and at his age, you know what I mean, Like,
I don't see him not chasing anything right, right, And
and the history that they have with their family or whatever,
like there's something there and I don't think that he
wants to go out go somewhere else.
Speaker 5 (04:44):
They've been very good to their families for long for
his family for a long time.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
And yeah, and but as everybody's talking about oldest shows over,
the shows over. I'm just thinking, well, one of these
other networks should pick up inside DNBA.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Now you want, don't get Ernie, but if.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
You get Charles, Kenny and Shack, you can get a
host in there. He maybe he may, you know, and
I'm not saying he might be as good as won't
be will be as good as Ernie Johnson, But you
can get a host as great as Ernie is.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Those three are in particularly Barkley Rob are the draw
and so.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
I think that that is a simple thing that one
of these networks should do. Now, ESPN they have been
trying to get Barkley for a long time. And you
know what, a lot of the players that don't go
to ESPN SA Rob.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
ESPN wants you to work too hard.
Speaker 5 (05:37):
I remember Charles Bunking one of the all time funny
quotes about that. He said, if I went and signed there,
I'd be on deportest.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Right. I mean they doing stuff on the port.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
They will want him on first take, they will want
him on get Up, they will want him on obviously
the pregame show for the NBA and other stuff. Right,
And some of these guys Charles don't have to do that.
He's in such demand, he doesn't have to do that
shock same thing. So I mean, maybe it'll be NBC ROB.
(06:09):
But again, that is a no brainer for one of
these networks.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
I think Chris like, because Ernie's not going to be there,
and it's not going to be the same show. If
I'm looking at the I'm NBC, I'm going to bring
in my own host and I might bring in a
different third person because it's not the same show. To me,
Charles Barkley is a layup. That's the guy you want.
(06:35):
That's okay, But the other two shows success and as
good as all the other guys are, it's Barkley. No,
it's Barkley, So that's not that's not a debate. Yeah,
But I thought to myself, if I had to Chris,
if you were NBC and said that they just wanted
to bring one of their own guys and obviously their
(06:55):
own hosts, right, and they had to pick two out
of the three that's left, it's different.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
If Ernie was coming, then you bring the whole show.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Well, I think you should bring the whole show anyway,
but coming, I think you should bring the whole Yeah, Yeah,
Ernie's not going. But I'm saying I think they should
bring Chuck, Shaq and Kenny. But I'll play along with
you if you want to, you know, say which two.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
If you had to pick too, if you had to
pick two, where would you go?
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Well, like you said, Barkley's a nobody when it comes
that ESPN and we you know, I did the Countdown
show for a year with Magic and John Berry and
Michael Wilbin and our show. It was it was did well,
it was popular and everything. We we thought for sure
they bring it back.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
They didn't. They switched it up a little got rid
of Don Berry switched it.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
Every year every year, man, Like it was nothing you could.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
No, no, no, no, it was they switched it every year.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
But but my point is.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Row, I know they were always trying to figure out, Okay,
how can we get.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
As good as inside the NBA.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
And I'm like Barkley, like Rob, that's the only thing
he's the difference.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
Wouldn't you agree?
Speaker 5 (08:12):
Like, no, you can't somebody that's as good as it's nobody.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
You can't duplicate it. And that's what they think. Well
do what they do?
Speaker 5 (08:21):
You know, like the same, No, no, no, no, no, there's
something about Barkley and what he's saying and whatnot. You
just can't always copy everything. We know everything that they
try to copy it, do it.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Right, But sometimes you look silly if you try, you know,
and you just don't have it. But to your point, Okay,
if I could only choose to, so we're basically talking
about Charles, Kenny or Shack, with all due respect to
Shacked Diesel, it would be Charles and.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Kenny, So you would be on that.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
I don't think it's I don't even think it's a question.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Well, you know what, you know what, Here's why, here's
why I say that Rob Charles Shock is obviously he's
not Charles, but they're similar in that their greatness is
not in them breaking down the games and giving.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Great analysis and things like that.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
It's in their personalities and the humor they bring, their
experience having been all time great players.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
That's what they bring.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
So if I've got Kenny brings a little more in
depth analysis, squeeze pot like the shock, right right, If
I've got just got chucking Shock, then it's just it's
kind of.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
What's the word repetitive.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
I guess they're they're similar, and nobody's really bringing that
hardcore analysis, uh to the extent that Kenny brings it.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
So that's what I think.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
And remember you did have those two without shock for years,
right before.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
Shaq joined in twenty eleven or whatever it was. But Chris,
it's funny because I'm with you. I think it would
be Kenny and Charles. But when I went into you know,
here at Fox Sports Radio, and I went in and
I threw it out to some of the staff here.
Manty was in the room. Ian was in the room,
and I asked him that question. Chris, they both said,
(10:24):
without even hesitation, Shaq and Charles.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
They those two everybody else was picking.
Speaker 5 (10:32):
So Manty tell us why because Chris gave his reason
about Kenny.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
But you thought it should be Shaq and Charles.
Speaker 6 (10:39):
And I think what Chris said is one accurate. But
if we are not going to have inside the NBA
on TNT, then we're not going to have that anymore.
And what I like is the relationship between Shaq and Charles.
So once once we move on, we move on completely,
you know what I mean. It's not going to be
the same, but their relationship and what they.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Know due to each other is entertaining.
Speaker 6 (11:03):
And yeah, I agree with Chris that it may be repetitive,
but it's still entertaining.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
But you also need some so somebody else is gonna
be there really giving you some legitimate I don't want to,
you know, but like no, no, nor in that fanalysis.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
They would have to replace Kenny Wood with somebody else. Guy, Chris, right,
that's what we're talking about.
Speaker 6 (11:24):
Yes, and I think that's what would happen, because again,
you can't if this isn't it, then it's got to
be something different. But I think keeping those two together
would still bring the eyeballs.
Speaker 5 (11:32):
I got the idea they can they can bring in
JJ Reddick, I think gets fired by the legend.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
Is that all right? I'm sorry, I say that that's good?
Speaker 1 (11:42):
No, that that that actually you know it's funny now,
Manzi that makes sense.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
That does make sense. Now, Look, I'll be honest if
I'm NBC or.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Prime or whichever one, if one of them does do it,
I I'll be honest.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
I'm kind of trying to recreate with inside d NBA.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
See what happens is, Chris, is it's not the same.
And you gotta be careful because people right away gonna
be like, it ain't the same.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
Look, there's no Ernie.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
It does doesn't feel the same, and so that's why
you want to put your own stamp on it. If
Ernie was there, then there's no doubt. You take all
four and it's essentially.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
You know what I mean to get Adam Lefko, who
fills in for Ernie a good number amountain No.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
I know he does, but I'm just if Ernie's there,
it's a no brainer. But without Ernie, you want to
put your own little twist to it. NBC, you've got
to remember Chris. They got their own people. They're paying
a lot of money. Someone's gonna be their main guy.
They used to do the NBA.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
They're like, man that way, we were kids when right
a long time. But they know if they have.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
People who they have well, no, no, I mean Marie
and Taylor.
Speaker 5 (12:53):
She might be the right would she be the the host?
Speaker 1 (12:57):
They could try that, right, she could be the whole
that'd be interesting, Yeah, that'd be interesting.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
And then they'd have to add one NBA person who
they would want to go out and get to try to,
you know what i mean, add some new and then
there's people who fill in on TNT. They might grab
one of those guys. They might get somebody totally out
of the out the box, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
Yeah, Yeah, I think it's interesting. That's all it is.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
It is all right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Rob and I having a little bit of fun. If
you could only take two of the trio Shock Chuck
and Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, who would they be?
Speaker 3 (13:37):
What two would you take?
Speaker 1 (13:39):
If you're starting a new NBA show for the new
network that holds the Association's rights. Your thoughts next, Chris
and Rob eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 5 (13:49):

Pali Fusco Here with Tony Fusco, you know, as the
host of the number one rated Paully and Toni Fusco Show.
We get tons and tons of fanmail every day, piles
of it In fact, Tony, why don't you open up
one of those letters right now and read what's inside?
Speaker 8 (14:24):
Heay, listen to this, Dear Pauli and Toni, your sports
takes the dumbest and most terribly that.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
Wait, open this other one.
Speaker 8 (14:32):
Dear Pauliantoni, you suck more than anyone.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Wait, try this one.
Speaker 8 (14:37):
Dear Paulie and Tony, you guys are the absolute best.
There you go, coming up with the stupidest takes.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Again, forget.
Speaker 7 (14:45):
Just listen to the Polly and Tony Fusco Show on
the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Yeah, all right, it's the odd Couple.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Christen rob Live from the Tieright dot Com Studios eight
seven seven ninety nine or Fox inside the NBA. Will
it come back in a revamped form? If so, what
two out of the three NBA or former NBA stars.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
Would you pick?
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neill, Kenny Smith.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
You can only have two, which dude do you want?
Speaker 4 (15:20):
All right?
Speaker 5 (15:21):
Chris, let's kick it off. Adam and DC. You're on
the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up?
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Adam?
Speaker 9 (15:28):
My got my favorite radio show?
Speaker 10 (15:29):
Hey man?
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Thank you.
Speaker 9 (15:31):
You know the obvious answer, man, it's gotta be Shack
and Chuck Man. They say they tunny and they just
like you know, world class World War now well known people.
But I think it's a shame that it would even
have to break up, right because it's time's during the
regular season where I tune in just for the show,
and it crossed the business. It's young people that know that,
(15:52):
that know about them, and it's a bridge. What they
needed to do is what they need to do is
keep that same crew. I know it's gonna be hard
to get earned because he said he don't want to
leave the turning that.
Speaker 5 (16:02):
You gotta remember Ernie Ernie, Ernie Johnson's father, Pitch for
the Atlanta Braids, was a broadcaster for a long time.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Their family. It's just not he's not leaving, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Would do it? I would still bring the three of
them back without Ernie.
Speaker 10 (16:17):
Well yeah, but I just would.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
I wouldn't even think twice. I mean, you can find
the hoes. It could be Adam Lefko, you could get
it's gonna be somebody from NBC. He's gotta They're not
gonna do yeah, but they might they could hire somebody.
They could hire somebody. I mean, they obviously would be
hiring some of those new guys anyway.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
So yeah, but you're right, maybe they take somebody from NBC.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
The bottom line is those three make the show as
great as Ernie is. I know he's a great quarterback
and all that up there, but those three are who
people are really tuning in to see.
Speaker 5 (16:52):
So yeah, I just think, yeah, it'd be different if
if they were all. I mean, all right, Andre, Massachusetts're
on odd couple Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 11 (17:03):
Yeah you're doing thanks for taking the call. Listen. Uh,
when something great is over, it's over. And I don't
think that you're going to be able to spin off
or duplicate or dilute inside the NBA without Ernie. He's
the heart and soul of the show. For me, it's
his vision, it's his you know, he built it up
from what it is. So personally speaking, you're not going
to have the Wire without David Simmon. You don't have
(17:25):
a Sopranos without a David Chase. You need that visionary
that makes something great. And just so that's that's my
personal feeling. It's sad, it's all of those different things
and TNT that I'm not wanting to spend the money.
Only way that I see it going forward is if
they just take the show and move it to a
streaming or to frank not to get streaming from move
it to YouTube and set it up like a nightcap
(17:46):
or like a clubs you know what I mean, and
one of those shows that just only airs on YouTube
but is able to build up hop out.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
On TNT and they just come on as soon as
the game is over, and you Chris up, it needs
to be on and after the game, like they got
another Indiana Jones movie playing on TNT for a million times,
and as soon as the game is over, right on
on DESPN or whatever it's on.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
You just the game's over, you know, to flip the TNT.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
You can do it. No, I mean, you can do
it on NBC or Amazon Prime. I'm telling you, I
firmly believe that with those three players ex players and
a new host, it could rock.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
I'm gonna sit here today and say that they won't
have all three of them back.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
That's just my gut.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Yeah, I'm not saying they I have no idea I
think they should.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
I don't know why you wouldn't the show.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
Is awesome because Chris, there are executives there at NBC
who also want to have their stamp and say.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
We have to be your stamp. No, I'm just I
brought in that show from DNT that. But I'm just saying,
there's no other show. Is there any other show?
Speaker 4 (19:03):
Now?
Speaker 3 (19:04):
Look, I think the Baseball.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
Show with Ortiz and a rid and you know when
I mean they have he rose at one point. But
you know, I think that show is good. It's not
as good. It's kind of like, you know, inside the
NBA light.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
Yeah, No, don't.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
That.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
It's not easy to get you know what I mean,
It's not easy, man.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
Chris and Arizona. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 10 (19:27):
What's up, Chris, Let's go Chris and Rob love the
show and listener, longtime listener, I got I'm gonna think
outside the box here. I got the solution. We don't
need two, we don't need three, We only need one.
That's Kevin Hart. Bring Kevin Hart and he can.
Speaker 11 (19:48):
Do all four.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
Kevin Hard.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
We're serious, be serious here, all right?
Speaker 5 (19:55):
You know, Kevin Hard?
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Are you kidding? And no, Charles, thanks for the call.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Yeah, I mean, there's no one person. I don't care
who the one person. Barkley by himself would couldn't do it.
Speaker 4 (20:07):
No, no, no, no, he need to play off of somebody.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
I think he's trying to joke.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
All right, we want to welcome in the CEO of
Mayweather Productions, Leonard Ellerby Leonard, How are you?
Speaker 10 (20:31):
I'm doing great? How you doing today?
Speaker 1 (20:34):
We are great? Great to have you on. We announced
the fights coming up. You know, Tank Davis and David Benavidez.
A great card there and let's get right to it now.
Tank hasn't been in the ring since he knocked out
Ryan Garcia more than a year ago.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
How much do you think ring Russ could be a.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Factor in his fight with Frank Martin, who's been running
his mouth.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Quite a bit.
Speaker 10 (20:58):
WHOA At the end of the day, that's what fighters do.
You know, Frank is very confident. You know, he's a
good fighter. Frank, Frank is a good fighter and he
feels it show that he's up for the challenge and
come June fifteenth, tank job to show him or to
(21:20):
tear him from that. And I'm very, very very confident
that Thank David is going to show Frank Martin that
he's on a different level.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
That's going to be uh, very very interesting.
Speaker 5 (21:35):
The other thing I saw that this is the one
hundred championship fight that's going to take place at the
MGM Grand Garden Arena. Can you talk about just how
ingrained boxing is when we talk about having a big
event and how much the MGM grant and people fighting
there and what it means to boxing.
Speaker 10 (21:55):
It means everything when you're talking with one hundredth anniversary
one hundred nine O Bucks in the MGM. Again, the
MGM has had a number of great fighters that has
fought in that great arena. Not yet, Yeah, if they've
(22:16):
had a number of great fighters that you talk about
Mike Tyson, you talking about Oscar de la Hoyet, you
come about Fory Mayweather, and the list goes on and
on of the number of great fighters if you've had.
And so this will be this will be a great
knight of boxing again to honor the m v M.
There's gonna be a great event you know, we have
(22:37):
a tremendous car from top to bottom with some sick,
crackular fight. And again, you like when you look at
the main event, you got Tank David thinking on Frank Bart.
You got David Bennavidez and a great fight. He's a
masterful fighter himself, a tremendous speed, power, everything, electrifying performer. Again,
(23:01):
and what I really like about the entire car is
that you get Davis and David, same night, same car,
one fright, get the two most explosive fighters in the
entire world fighting on the same car.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
Ken, I want to follow up that, Chris, what are
you talking about? But those two guys. You know, boxing
has been looking for a face of the sport for
a while since Floyd is uh, you know done, but
since he's retired from the sport. Could one of those
two guys and this, you know, could Tank or benevetez
uh be the next face of boxing?
Speaker 4 (23:42):
One of those two.
Speaker 10 (23:46):
That again I.
Speaker 5 (23:47):
Said, could one of those guys be the face of boxing?
Speaker 10 (23:53):
Well, let's let's create a record straight. Tank Davis is
the face of boxing. Okay, Now let's let's be clear
on that. It's like Tank Davis has shown consistency. That one.
He said, when we look at the younger generations, the
reason that these fight fans are tuning in for one
reason and one reason only, is because Tank Davis is
(24:13):
the most exciting fighter in the entire world.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
Okay, all right, you clear me up on that.
Speaker 10 (24:22):
Anytime you get an opportunity to witness Tank live again,
he's in all since last year April the twenty second,
since he stopped Ryan Garcia. Again, you know your witness
and greatness and the return of Tank Davis, and then
you add along David Benavidez in a tremendous undercard. Again,
you got a fabulous night of box and you get
(24:44):
your bang for your boss. And that's what it's all about.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
Leonard.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
What are your.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
What are your thoughts on the UH another fight that's
coming up this summer, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.
Speaker 10 (25:00):
Actually, I love I love the event. I love the event.
I love the event again me I'm one that I'm
a type of guy. Is that I call it as
I see it. And it's all about the fans again,
it's nothing but entertainment. You got Mike Tyson, he's a
fifty I leave fifty seven, fifty eight years old. He
got Jay Ball, He's he's more. He's come from the
(25:22):
from the the other side of the thing. He's just
been introducer boxing, but he's been done a tremendous job
with pushing the fort along. So I got to get
props to him. It was his idea to come up
with this great idea of him and Mike Tyson having
a fabulousy event and at Dubas Cowboys Stadium. And again,
I'm excited for it. I'll be tooled in just like
(25:44):
the rest of the fans.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
How do you how do you see it playing out?
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Mean, obviously Tyson is a better fighter, but he's gonna
be fifty eight years old, But how do you see
this thing playing out?
Speaker 10 (25:55):
I think, actually, it's all for entertainment, so we'll we'll
have to wait to see. We have to wait to see.
Mike Tyser has a tremendous amount of fans. He's been
in some of the biggest fight, big biggest heavyweight fights
in the history of the sport. Thinking Jakes Paul is
he's new to this game, but he's done a tremendous
job thus far for what he's been able to do.
(26:16):
And again, I'm a fan. I'm a fan of boxing,
and I'm excited to see them too. You know, put
on a great show of entertainment and this is what
it's all about. But when we talk about Tank Davis,
he's on a he's an elite elite, he's at the
top of his game and in my opinion, he's the
best fighter in the entire world again, and he's taking
(26:39):
on Frank Martin. I guy Frank. Frank is a very
very good fighter. He has a very good trainer. He's
managed by Earl Finch Junior.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
Again.
Speaker 10 (26:49):
So it's gonna be the biggest event the Tank Davis.
The Tank Davis fight card will be the biggest event
of twenty twenty four in all the boxing.
Speaker 5 (26:59):
Let me I answer this question as as someone you
know in the business that makes money with boxing. The
Daily Mail reported this past week that the Fury usage
fight that more than twenty million people illegally streamed the
fight of the pay per view last week. Is you
know what goes to your mind when you hear something
like that that twenty million people got it illegally.
Speaker 10 (27:23):
Well, again, I don't know if those numbers are real,
but one thing I do know from the revenue side
that there's been definitely been a problem obviously because I've
managed voice entire career and when it's come to the
pay per view, especially when social media has come into play,
and from the Tank Davis angle is that there's definitely
(27:45):
been a problem with the illegal shaming, and again it's
like it's something that has to be, you know, creative
ways to stop these perpetrators from stealing the signals. Again,
so I can't really speak on the youthic theory situation
because I don't know if those are the real numbers,
(28:06):
but definitely definitely a problem, and I know we work.
We worked very hard and long with Showtime when Showtime
was actively involved in boxing to try to deter that
kind of thing. And again we hopefully we can come
up with a way to stop these perpetrators so the
signals and cutting into the revenue of the way these
(28:29):
fighters be able to feed their family. But at the
end of the day, you do the best that you
can do, and that's that all right.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
That's Leonard Ellerby, CEO of Mayweather Productions. Check out the
fights Gironte, Tank Davis, David Benavidez cards June fifteenth, Live
at the MGM gram p b C pay per view
event on Prime Video.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Leonard, thank you man. We appreciate the time.
Speaker 10 (28:58):
Thank you for having me, and I look forward to
coming back on as we get closer to the fight.
And you guys have a wonderful evening.

Post it right after we get off the air. All right,
Rob Aaron Rodgers, let's go a quick bit of football.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Obviously, OTA is going on for teams and Aaron Rodgers
supposedly has looked really good.
Speaker 7 (30:41):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Yesterday he spoke first time we've really heard him talk
about football in a while, and here's what he said.
He said, I think if I don't do what I'm
capable of doing, then we're all probably gonna be out
of here next season. I like that kind of pressure.
I know it's a market to play in. It's not
(31:02):
for everybody. I relish that opportunity.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
I think that's obvious. I really do, because it is.
Speaker 5 (31:08):
Yeah, I mean between the GM Chris and you know,
we talked about it with the quarterback not having a
backup quarterback ready and that you know, mess with a
good defense that they could have had. Somebody in place.
That was mismanagement. Robert Salah, he's just been okay, he's
done nothing specials, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
He's a defensive guy.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
I look, I think he last year to get seven wins,
to beat Buffalo and Philadelphia and Houston with the worst
quarterback play in the league. Rop, I think it's to
be commended. So but you're right, even so, I mean,
this is the year.
Speaker 5 (31:48):
They have a bad year the year, right, right, and
if they do, there's no way to bringing him back.
And like, if this blows up, and you know, I
don't know, just say that the defense Chris winds up
not being as good as it had been and Aaron
Rodgers off the last two years or whatever it is,
you know what I mean, on the missing all of
(32:08):
last year, I should say.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
You know what I mean, mediocre his last season in
Green Bay.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
So there's a lot there.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
What do you look.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
I like him embracing it, you know, I like him
saying look it's because I've said it, Rob it's on him.
The defense is good, very good, if not great. They're
receiving corps with Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams, assuming he
stays healthy, is very good.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
Breece Hall is very good, and.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
Is the offensive line gonna protect him?
Speaker 3 (32:39):
Though?
Speaker 4 (32:39):
I mean.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
It ain't on the offensive line. The offensive line is
gonna be good if they stay healthy. Now that's the
if not, That's what I'm saying. They got the tools,
they revamped it well, and so the question is not
can they be good, it's can they be healthy?
Speaker 3 (32:55):
But yeah, if they're not healthy, now, look, he's a
guy roped.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
There are a lot of There are a lot ofquarterbacks
in the league that function and do play well behind
offensive lines that are like bottom ten, bottom five in
the league. You know it does. I mean San Francisco's
offense was bottom ten last year.
Speaker 4 (33:14):
My natis has been bad. Who's been injured before? You
know what.
Speaker 5 (33:19):
I just think that the offensive line the four snaps,
we saw three of them. He was hurried, like but no, no, no,
I'm just saying from last year off of these protection.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Yeah, but I look, I like the fact that he's
all in. Rob He's at OTA's. He didn't have to be.
He didn't do that his last year in uh Green Bay,
and so I like.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
The fact that he's all in.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
But it's on him because I do think they have
if they stay healthy, now that that's always the caveat.
If healthy, I think they look good on paper, and
it's up to Rogers to play well.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
All Right, we're out of here, keeping lot.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Jason Smith, Mike Harmon Next Fires on the Way
