Speaker 2 (00:24):
Let's get this, punnies, you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
It is The Odd Couple. I'm Chris, He's Rob. We're
live from the tirerack dot Com studios. Tireg dot com
will help you get there wherever there may be. They've
got an unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free row hazard protection,
and more than ten thousand recommended installers. Tirereg dot Com

(00:54):
is the way tirebind should be, and this, The Odd
Couple is the way talk radio should be, so keep
it locked here. It of course, is a trash talking Tuesday,
so you will have thirty to forty seconds to trash
anyone or anything in the entire world of sports, and

(01:18):
that'll happen at about thirty five minutes or so. So
you can call us up at eight eight, seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox and have your takes ready and
be ready to roar. All right, Rob, let's start. You
have made it clear. You said you are picking the

(01:39):
Boston Celtics to win the championship. Looks like they'll face Dallas,
but either way, you're going with the Celtics. And they
just completed a dominant run ROB through the Eastern Conference playoffs.
They were twelve and two. They obviously had a great
regular season as well, they won sixty four games, by

(02:01):
far the best in the league, and they enter the
finals ROB with a seventy six and twenty record over
the regular season and the playoffs. ROB, only nine teams
have entered the finals with twenty or fewer losses. Eight

(02:22):
of the nine went on to win championships. The only
one that didn't was the Golden State Warriors in twenty seventeen.
Remember that was the year that they were up. They
won seventy three games and then gave up the league
won to Lebron. And so I want to ask you,

(02:43):
how good do you feel or how impressed are you
with what the Celtics have done thus far, particularly in
the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Man, Well, I mean, it's not pretty. It's just I
get it. I can understand.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
And because of their past history, and just the way
that things have happened. And we've seen them play down
to their competition sometimes games where they should win. There's
a lot not to like. Okay, it's like a pig, Chris.
I mean, this ain't pretty. But guess what when you
cut it open, I could have pig feet. I could

(03:19):
have bacon for breakfasts. There's a lot there. There's a
lot delicious there. Okay, I could have a ham for Easter.
There's a lot there, Chris, if you cut the pig
open and enjoy it.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
And that's what the Celtics are just walking around.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
They don't look good.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
We're just saying, yes, pork kills and Porkin's gonna kill
the Dallas Mavericks when it comes time to the NBA Finals. Chris,
look away. Everything's not gorgeous. Everything is not beautiful. Everything's
not a work of art. The Celtics are not that.

(03:57):
But guess what they win at a high id. They
just win ugly, fugly, mugly, whatever you want to call it. Wow,
they win, Chris. That's all you need to do to
win a championship. Do you remember that two thousand what
was that the Celtics team was that two thousand and eight,

(04:17):
and they won, Chris, they struggled their first two rounds,
seven game series seven.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
You were looking going Cleveland or whoever it was, in
the second round to them seven.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
You looked at them and you were like, they're not winning,
no championship. Look at the struggle. Sometimes the struggle is
a part of it.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
And if we can say twelve and two is a struggle,
I want to struggle twelve and two. I want that
to be my struggle, to go twelve and two to
reach the NBA Finals. I understand why people don't have confidence.
I do, Chris, But I'm gonna tell you you'll be
making a mistake if you discount the kind of winning
that this team has been able to do, because ultimately,

(04:58):
and I've said it a million times, sports has a
short menu.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
It's wins and its losses.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Well, I look, that's where I do agree with you.
In the playoffs, you got one mission winning advance don't matter,
how don't matter how pretty it is, how cute it is.
What the margin of victory is win and advance and
you brought it up. Two thousand and eight is a
great example. The Celtics with Garnett Alan Pierce struggled in

(05:30):
every round. They went seven, seven, six and six in
the NBA Finals to win the championship. So I agree
you can't always just look at the playoffs and say, oh,
this team is rolling, this team is struggling, they're going
to win it. They're not going to win it. So
I am with you there and I do not write

(05:53):
the Celtics off. I definitely think they have a chance
to win the championship. This is worse than ugly. It's
not just ugly.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
This is.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Concerning. And again I'm not writing them off, but the
way they have played rob I don't even have to
go into the first two series where they won by
five or in five games, and both of the teams
the heat Jimmy Butler, the Cavs Donovan Mitchell and then
get Jared Allen Is out maybe their second best player

(06:32):
out for the entire series. But against Indiana Rop they
won in four. Give them credit, but they trailed three
of the four games in the fourth quarter. The first
game they definitely should have lost. Just some horrible calls

(06:52):
by Rick Carlisle, the Pacers coach allowed left the door open.
And credit the Celtics for walking through it, but that
game was over. Then in Game three, Rob, the Celtics
are down eight points with two and a half minutes
left and going to They outscored the Pacers thirteen and to

(07:15):
at the end of the game, so credit them for that,
But down eight points with two and a half minutes
left to a team that doesn't have its best player
in Tyrese Haliburton is just not impressive. And then last night,
of course, in Game four, they trail again by eight

(07:36):
points midway through the fourth quarter and end up pulling
it out. Now a lot of people Rob might say, well,
look with it, that's what Denver did against the Lakers,
or that's what Dallas is doing against Minnesota and did
against Oklahoma City. The difference, I would suggest Rob, the
differences Oklahoma City, the Lakers, those teams Soda in this

(08:00):
series were better than an injury Layton Pacers team. I mean,
the Nuggets were doing it to Lebron James and Anthony Davis,
all right, And so that to me is the difference.
For the Celtics to let an injury plague Pacers team
hang around, it's not engender confidence in them. And again

(08:26):
they swept them. They did what they needed to do.
But Rob, they have not beaten. Even when these teams
were healthy, Miami, Cleveland, Indiana, none of them won fifty games,
and so I don't think the Pacers have been very impressive.
I'm sorry, the Celtics have been very impressive, and so

(08:50):
twelve and two. I don't think it's one of the
great historically dominant runs. I think you do have to
look at the whole context of who they played, who's healthy,
who's not. Doesn't mean they won't win the championship. And
if they do, Rob, we won't even think about all
the injuries. But I can't sit here and act like

(09:10):
I've been impressed with what they've done in the playoffs.
I hear you.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
I said it, Chris.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
It hadn't been pretty to look at, but everything that
wins is not always pretty. Their people win ugly championships.
Things happen, things fall in line for you, and this
might be it. They got an easy road, barely had to.
I mean, they won games, but they lost two games,
just two games.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
And.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
I think they're going with some experience, going with some confidence,
and who knows, they might get a few days if
porzingis Chris comes back. He's an added piece that they'll add.
They've done nothing but win all year. He should be
back and they should be in good shape, rested, ready
to go, and they could have an advantage Minnesota extendses

(10:01):
to six games, which I'm not convinced of. I'm not
because I do believe that they'll win the night, but
then losing Game five when they go back to Dallas.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Right, yeah, that will go back. They would go back
to Minnesota, to Minnesota. I meant, I mean if they
win to night, and I don't think they're coming back
from a three to zero deficit, but you know, if
they win the night, you gotta feel figure they'd feel
good about, you know, going home for Game five and

(10:32):
then you know, take your chances. But yeah, it'd be
nice to see if they can extend this thing and
make it at least a little bit interesting because Rob
there have not been to rob G look it up.
I know it's been I don't know if it's ever
happened where both conference finals ROB have been sweeps. I'm

(10:53):
not sure. I certainly can't remember it, but it may
have happened decades ago. But that would be interesting. If
both teams sweep, it would make for nice storylines heading
into the finals, and Robert, you got some good ones.
Remember Porzingis played with Dallas. They kind of moved on
from him.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
Remember he could play with Luca, Right, Kyrie Boston, Ye,
so it would be.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
And then Boston swept Kyrie when he was in Brooklyn.
Remember that he gave the finger, I think to one
of the fans and all that stuff.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
So is that what it was? I thought he was
count he was saying that he was number one. I
thought that. I thought that's what he said.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Robbie, it has never happened, Rob, He just whispered in
my ear, never happened. Never happened.

Speaker 6 (11:37):
We missed it last season actually when the Miami Heat
went three to zero on Boston, and if they had
completed it then it would have been the first ever.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
And there you go last year with Miami Boston. You know,
Boston got something to prove after last year too, right.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
They got a lot to prove. There's no air, Rob,
I mean, if they don't win this, you wonder our
major changes in.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
I think that they'll probably be a coaching change for sure.
And then whether or not you if.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
They don't win the championship, you think it just I
was saying that.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
If they didn't get to the finals, Yeah, but I'd
have to see how it goes, Chris, Like I'm just saying,
I'd have to see how it goes. I'm not saying
it automatic, but they could just decide. And I said
this before to you, and it doesn't mean that because
Ricarlo went on to win the championship, right, but they
moved on from him when it looked like he was

(12:28):
promising with the Pistons and they got Larry Brown.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
And they got over there.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
I've seen it happened, Mark Jackson, Right, It's happened.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
So all I'm saying is it depends on how they lose, Chris,
and if you think that they were out coached or either.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
One of those situations. Of course, did anybody you know
who would have one got to the finals and it
lost his job was David Black? David Black, I remember
he started the season the following season.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
But then they got rid of him early on, right,
and he went to the finals.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Right, all right? Uh, it is the eye couple, Chris
and Rob La Clippers. They went down early in the
first round, maybe to the eventual champion. They lost to Dallas.
They got some decisions to make. We'll get into that next.
It's Chris and Rob The Couple Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
All right, it's The Eye Couple, Chris and Rob live
from the tire rack dot Com studios. It is a
trash Talking Tuesday. So in about twenty minutes you will
be able to trash anyone or anything in the world
of sports. Get your trash talk ready. You can go
at it and give us a call at eight seven,

(14:15):
seven ninety nine on Fox Calling in about fifteen minutes
or so, so you can trash talk whoever or whatever
you want, Rob, maybe we'll get a few people that
trash talk the Clippers because obviously they bowed out early
in the playoffs in the first round. Kawhi Leonard was
not available for her again most of the series. Yep,

(14:38):
and they already gave him a three year, one hundred
and fifty two million dollar contract, and you know how
good there's nobody denies how great Kawhi is. But you
can only be great if you're available, and he just
isn't if he if he's able to play in the
regular season, it seems like he can't get into the

(14:58):
playoffs and so it's a bad situation that could even
be worse because they have to figure out what to
do with Paul George and James Harden. Rob g kind
of summarize their situation for us.

Speaker 6 (15:12):
Yeah, it's looking really murky right now in Los Angeles
because the Philadelphia seventy six has got a lot of
money to burn and according to multiple outlets, Paul George
is priority number one for them, and according to Keith Pompey,
the Philadelphia Inquir friend of the show, Yes, the reason
why the Sixers believe they have a good chance at
getting Paul George is because the Clippers are quote unwilling

(15:34):
to offer George more than the three year, one hundred
and fifty two million dollar deal they gave to Kawhi Leonard,
which sounds like a lot of money, except that PG
is eligible to receive a forty year, two hundred and
twenty one million dollar contract from the Clippers. So the
fact that they are will not willing offering max money
is making the Sixers feel like, Hey, we may get

(15:55):
a chance to steal this guy.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Rob, Do I think Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden
at all and the crew are going to lead the
Clippers to a championship.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
No, No, but this is can't feel that way.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
No, but this is a business. They open in a
new arena.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
A billion dollar arena.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Chris, I's right, And even Rob, there are thirty teams
in the league. Only one wins the championship and that's
not the only one that's successful. And I think the Clippers'
best chance to provide some entertainment for their fans, give
a little bit of hope and be relevant, like a
good team make the playoffs, consistently is to re sign

(16:42):
Paul George, even if it means max, and I would
bring back Harden too. Only when I'm wondering about it is.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Not doing a max contract, though I.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Hear you why not, it ain't. I mean, whatever they
give him, it's not gonna be much differ it's not
gonna make enough difference for them to go out and
do anything, you know what I mean, like getting other
good players. They're stuck because they have no draft picks.
So it's not like they can say, you know what,
let's go to the bottom and draft. They don't have
the picks. The mistake ride was Kawhi. To me, if

(17:12):
they didn't sign Kawhi, then you could start all over
to some degree and at least, but you can't.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
But you can't start all over in a brand new building.
I mean that that's the.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
That's why I think they go with with Parks, so
you rather lose him.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Yeah, then I would be more app because I would
take Kawhi.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
And then even if it's some younger players, you gotta have,
like somebody who's the star kind of player Chris uh.
But to just give Paul George a max contract of
two hundred f. I just couldn't do it, not not,
I just couldn't. And I get it. It's a business.
You gotta have some names, you gotta sell tickets. There'll
be a newness to this where people want to experience

(17:54):
the new arena, Chris. People always ask me why do
I go to Clippers games more than I go to
Lakers games? When I when I buy tickets, they're cheaper.
I mean, I want to see NBA basketball, but.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
They not gonna be that much cheaper when they're in
that new arena, like tickets.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Chris, so outrageous.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
What about heart? Like I would bring back Paul George
just for business sake, And like I said, the difference
in sixty million a year versus is not very much.
What do you think they should do with Harden?

Speaker 3 (18:30):
I don't know. I'm out on Harden too, if.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
I'm out on all three of them.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
But if it's a deal, if it's a deal, Chris,
But I'm not big money, nah, no, big money.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Yeah, it'll be interesting because I don't think anybody's gonna
offer him big money. No, right, So I mean I
offer him probably more than anybody else, just so I
can keep him. But I agree. I mean, I don't
think he has much leverage because I don't know who
else wants. What's we were talking to. I can't remember

(19:01):
who it was yesterday, maybe Mark, maybe it was Funky
Cold Medina Westbrook. Yeah, I bring back at if I
could get him for basically the same price of three
million or whatever. I'm not paying him big money. Yeah,
I don't think he's got anywhere else to go either, right,
Rob G?

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Jump in.

Speaker 6 (19:17):
I just got a question for you, Rob, because I
know you're you're big on the blow up the Clippers.
You know, storyline here. If the Clippers do not bring
back Paul George and James Harden, they will only have
fifteen million dollars in cap space. So would you rather
go that route and just get whoever you can get
some I don't know, D'Angelo Russell, whatever, or try to

(19:38):
bring all these guys back.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
You might not even get him.

Speaker 6 (19:40):
He probably won't, to be honest with you, But bring
all those guys back and.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
See, Rob G, I get it.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
I mean, it's a terrible spot to be in, but
my God, to just like pour more money, more good
money onto bad money. You know, it's bad in business
and at some point you gotta just decide that you
have to try to do something different, that you have
to try to figure out something that's going to work

(20:07):
your way and not just well, we're stuck over a barrel.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
We have no choice.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
We got to pay these.

Speaker 4 (20:13):
Guys and then they can't play and they're heard and
another first round exit. I mean, I get it, Arena fans,
you want to sell tickets, Chris.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
You're wright, it's a business.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
The other twenty nine teams they got to sell tickets
and have a.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
Fan base and all that.

Speaker 4 (20:31):
Everybody's not winning, and you throw everybody out every year
you don't win. But I just the Clippers thing has
been going on for a while. It just doesn't feel
good to me. And at some point you got to
make a dramatic change.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
And I saw it in.

Speaker 4 (20:43):
Detroit, Chris, and it didn't work when they got rid
of Chauncey Billups and they bought an Alan Iverson and
they thought Iverson was hungry for a.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Championship, to try to make it a different team.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
You remember that going to the Eastern Conference finals six
years in a row, they lost the last three, any
good sense, and that was the end of it. So
that can happen. I'm not being.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
That's why if I had picks, Rob, I'd be with
you now. Like I said, the major mistake was Kawhi.
I just don't know why in the world they did that.
That was such a terrible move, and now they're they're
gonna pay for it, because as long as you have him,
then you're gonna have to kind of go for it,

(21:28):
you know, otherwise you'll be in no man's land where
you're okay, not good, not bad enough. I mean, they
don't have their draft picks anyway, so there's really two
things killing them. Kawhi's contract and you don't have any
draft picks. So in that case, Rob, I'm just like, hey,
bring him back. They're gonna probably pay Tyl Lou Rob
a ton of money. See if he might be able

(21:49):
to get blood from a turnip and you know, maybe
have a deep run or something with these guys. But
they've tried the draft route. Eventually it run. It worked
when they got Blake Griffin. But you know, they went
many years ride with a bunch of lottery picks. Darius
Miles and they had a ton of guys like that, right,
and they it didn't.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Five lottery picks and couldn't win any game.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Yeah, yeah, so I would run it back and basically
see if you can fool the fans and they're having
hope and so all right, Uh, it is the odd
Couple Christmas, Rob, Briannie James. He wants to play in
the NBA, but brother is picky. We'll get to that next,
but first.

you want to participate in trash Talking Tuesday, where you
get thirty to forty seconds to trash anyone in the
world of sports or anything, then you should start calling
in now eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine nine, six sixty three sixty nine and

(23:08):
get your takes ready. In the meantime, Rob sham sharani
Are reported today that ten teams have invited Bronnie James,
the son of Lebron James, in for workouts, but Bronnie
has turned down most of them. And will only go

(23:28):
to a few. Sham's mentioned the Lakers and the Suns.
Not quite sure if that's it or if those are
just two of the handful he may go play for,
but most people are taking this like he has basically
turned down eight workouts and is going to only work

(23:49):
out for the Lakers or the Suns. What are your
thoughts on this?

Speaker 4 (23:52):
I don't know how that's even possible, but it just
speaks to maybe that he knows that there's only you know,
he's only going to go to the.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Lakers, and so why bother or whatever? I just I
don't I don't know.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
Why you wouldn't just go and take a look, you
know what I mean? Chris, and you were you weren't
that impressive. You were impressive shooting when you when no
one was guarding you, and then when they played the games,
you didn't play that great. Averaged four and a half
points in college. Most guys were four and a half
points playing for a bad USC team probably wouldn't even
be in this circumstance or situation. So it's just kind

(24:28):
of weird. It kind of tells you where this is
and it's not diabolical, but it just I said it
from the very beginning, Chris, that he would wind up
with the Lakers. And that's what I still believe. I
said this way a long time ago, that there's no
other situation. Lebron wants this to happen, and the Lakers
want to pacify Lebron as long as he's wearing a

(24:49):
Laker uniform. So that's why maybe, uh, this is a
foregoing conclusion. Do you disagree that that's what's probably that's
what's probably gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
No, what this tells me, you're right, it does look
baffling and like what But all it tells me Rob
is that he knows he's going to the Lakers.

Speaker 5 (25:10):
Right.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
Right. He knows he's either going to the Lakers and
it's likely a second round pick, or they also are like, look,
if the Sons are willing to draft him in the
first round, then because that's the talk that maybe they'll
use their first round pick to try to draft to

(25:33):
draft Brownie in hopes of getting Lebron over there. Rob
to Phoenix. Obviously he'd be you know, nice with the Sons.
Can you imagine Lebron Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Usef Nurkic
and Bradley Beal. I mean their problems in the fourth
quarters where they were the worst fourth quarter team in
the league, where that they made bad decisions, didn't have

(25:55):
a playmaker. Obviously Lebron would solve that problem. I don't
think he's going there for the minimum, because that's what
he'd have to take, the minimum to go there. But
if they think, you know, Clutch, which represents Bronnie, if
they feel like, look, Phoenix is serious, Matt Ishbia is

(26:17):
serious about trying to do this, then that tells me
why they might work out for the Suns, because maybe
they'll draft him in the first round, Rob, which is
of course guaranteed money. But I I mean, I think
that's what is happening here. And I'll tell you this
if I'm Matt Ishbia, and let's say that is my

(26:39):
thought process, Rob. If I'm Ishbia, I'm gonna draft Bronnie
so I can get Lebron. Obviously he needs to do
his due diligence and talk to Rich Paul of Clutch
and see if that's actually possible. Like if we draft
Bronnie when the first round, will Lebron come. That's what

(27:00):
you gotta do and if not, then we're not drafting him.
But Rob, knowing Lebron the way I do and Clutch
really the way they do business, I don't think they
would tell them. I mean they might tell him outright, no,

(27:24):
but I also think they might just be like, hey,
Lebron's not you know, committing to anything. He's a free agent.
He wants to look at what's best for him. Or
they might go just not really talk to Ishabia Rob. Uh.
That's what when Lebron's been a free agent, Rob, he

(27:46):
has been very close to the vest. They didn't tell
Cleveland when he first left there, you know he was
he went dark on Dan Gilbert. That's part of why
Gilbert was so upset. But he went dark on him,
didn't didn't give him any didn't tell him, Hey, get
rid of Mike Brown. I'll stay keep Mike Brown. I'll
you know if you keep it, if I'm going. They
were just guessing because they couldn't get the word from

(28:08):
Lebron when he left Miami Rob to go back to Cleveland.
They didn't know, you know what I mean, like so
smart business, Lebron. I don't know that they would even
tell Phoenix what they would do. I certainly don't think
they commit full boy. Yeah, you drive Briannie, I'm coming
so Isshbia might just take a you know, swing at

(28:31):
it right, swing for the fences and see if it
can happen. And so that makes sense if you're clutch, right, Hey,
if he's gonna drive Bronie in the first round, then
let's do it and work out for him Otherwise, Rob,
I think most likely he's just gonna end up with
the Lakers, and they know that, and they're not gonna
waste their time working out for other teams.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Yeah, I mean that has to be. That's what it
feels like. It's a full gone conclusion. I just don't
see him playing anywhere else. I really don't. This is
gonna happen. This is something Lebron say. He wants him
to be his own man. That sounds good, Chris, he
said all the right soundbites. But this is about Lebron.

(29:15):
Lebron wants this and he wants to do something and
nobody else has done.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
And I get all that.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
That's what he's trying to create. The resume just just
another one. None of Michael Jordan's kids made it to
the NBA like not that that is gonna look like you.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
Know, but is that gonna factor into the goat conversation?

Speaker 4 (29:32):
Hey, look at Lebron right right, but some people Chris
for some of the people that Ron wants to Lebron, right.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Yeah, Look, it's helping Bronnie out in that, Rob, it's
a good chance he might not even come close to
the NBA if if he weren't Lebron. So now it's
different with players. But we've said, look, Yannis his brothers
on Milwaukee Pack j R. Smith's brother Chris was with
the Knicks for a cup of coffee and a sweet

(30:05):
roll and a sweet role. Absolutely, he was there for
a little while. And Rob when that when Nott Hackett
gave up coaching duty or play calling duties in Denver,
guess who he turned it over to? Clint Kubiak, Gary
Kubiak Son. You know, we see the nepotism all over
the place, And so am I gonna get ticked off?

(30:28):
That is Lebron's gonna use it? No? I mean, I
just want to make sure Brownie's cool with it, you
know what I mean? Because to me, that's the real question.
Where's Brownie Psyche?

Speaker 5 (30:40):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Is he fine doing it this way.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
But it depends like like Giannis's brother Chris, does he
play well?

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Is he just sitting there? He's okay.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
See, there's a difference between the two. Now, that's what
I'm trying to say.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
I don't think Briannie, you think Bronnie's actually, let's say
the Lakers drafting, you think he's getting time next year.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
I don't think he should be getting time.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
But if he played, that would you agree with that?
That that that's where that changes everything, because you gotta
remember there are other guys who have put in the
work and all this and perform.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
Those are the guys who are losing out. Everybody asks like, if.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
He's not good enough, then it's hurting your team.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
Right that.

Speaker 4 (31:20):
But but people think, oh, it doesn't matter whatever if
you're just if you're a Gianni's brother just sitting there
and there's a twelfth man and you don't play, and
and and you know, I mean, I still it's still nepotism.
But I do understand that if anybody's gonna sit there
and not play, and and you want his brother there
because he's the big star. But if Bronnie starts to

(31:42):
get action and play I don't believe that they're gonna
use as a mascot Chris.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Bronnie's gonna be a mascot, because that's.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
What I don't think. I mean, I don't think mascots.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
He'll be a mascot.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
He'll have a uniform and a funny head he will
put on during the fourth quarter.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
I'm just saying, I Rob, that's what And look, if
I'm the Lakers, and obviously you're talking to Lebron, Look, Lebron,
you're our guy. We want you here. We love what
you've done for us. You brought us our seventeen championship.
Will drivet Briannie, but you gotta rib You gotta make

(32:18):
it clear he will own the coaching decisions of playing
him are up to the head coach and the staff.
It's not up to you. And we're only gonna play
him if he's earns the spot. Like I think, Rob,
what I think what they want Lebron and Bronnie and
the whole Clutch team. I think what they want Rob

(32:41):
is Broanie to be in a position where he can
develop into an NBA player, And I think they feel
like that's better done in the NBA than playing in
college somewhere, and so I think he's got You know,
he's got all day as long as he wants you.
You know how it works to work with the assistant coaches.
Maybe he'll play some in the G League. He won't

(33:02):
sign a two way contract, but you can play in
the G League without the two way contract. You can
sign his NBA player and then still trained in the
G League. So I think it's more of that round.
I would be stunned unless Bronni were actually to go
out there and play well in the NBA. I would
be stunned if he got any time next year with
the Lake like.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
I could clearly see Bronnie his first double double.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
It'll be ten high fives, twelve towel waves and he'll
have a double double.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
Just say email car all right, it's the odd couple.

Speaker 7 (34:26):
Don't you ever talk about me?

Speaker 2 (34:27):
It's trash talking Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
It's your teeth, Reggie, I don't know whether to smile.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Lets you kick a field goal man?

Speaker 4 (34:38):
All right, Chris, let's kick it off on this trash
talking Tuesday. Q in West Palm Beach, you're on the
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
Who you're trashing?

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Q on trashing the WNBA. They're two weeks. Nobody posterizes
and they have awkward jump shots. So the NBA subsidizes
the whole thing. So the W stands for welfare.

Speaker 5 (35:05):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
He's saying, no poster rising. That's true. Yeah, they can shoot,
though you can't say they can't. Somebody was good.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
It's a W stands for welfare Wow. I've never heard
that that's a good line for a column. I like
that you do that nowadays, maybe maybe you can't. I'll
probably be off the paper if I did that.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
That'd be a last column.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Bro, Yeah, my last column.

Speaker 5 (35:29):
Doubt.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
Toby in Ohio. You're on the other couple of Fox
Sports Radio. Who you're trashing?

Speaker 8 (35:35):
Toby Church, first time caller?

Speaker 1 (35:40):
How are you?

Speaker 5 (35:43):
You're really good?

Speaker 8 (35:44):
I finally got through. I want to Jennie bust In.
The Los Angeles Lakers so not even given a thought,
but even the opportunity to interview Becky Hammond to be
their next coach. She's coached in the Great Popovich, She's
had obviously success in the de WI NBA. She's got
leadership skills, and I think that's what the Lakers need.

(36:04):
They don't need somebody who just played the game. They
need someone that's coach that looked at both sides of
the game offense, defense, has leadership skills, will get in
your face, and has absolutely no fear. And I think
that's what Lebron and Anthony Davis need. They need somebody
that they can respect. And to look at her track records,
it's been very successful, all right.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
I ain't mad at them for not putting her her
windows closed officially? Really you feel yep? Of course she
was the hotness. A lot of people interviewed her. Nothing
came above about it. What's going to change like if
it didn't happen two years ago? I'm dead serious.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
She was getting.

Speaker 4 (36:44):
Interviews, she interviewed everywhere. Yeah, yeah, I just think that
a window closed. Something happened in those interviews where they
didn't like her. And I'm not talking about just because
she's female something, No, because you wouldn't have interviewed her
if that was an issue. So I'm talking about out
there was something there that they didn't like. Innis in Corona, California.

(37:05):
You're on the eye couple of Fox Sports Radio who
you're trashing in Is.

Speaker 5 (37:10):
I'm trashing this guy in his own language.

Speaker 8 (37:13):
Luka doncic butt it SLUCKI food Katimar slop now hukah sama.

Speaker 5 (37:19):
P Did you said no?

Speaker 8 (37:24):
I didn't? Right?

Speaker 5 (37:25):
In them?

Speaker 8 (37:25):
Were that plucks of SWACKI food Katimar sloped through? Called
Lebron James, I'm basically telling him stop crying every time
down the court.

Speaker 5 (37:32):
Like Lebron James, you're better than that.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
You're bigger than that.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
Stop giving us Bulkans a bad look.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
Complains enough, You're even worse every single time just whining
and complaining.

Speaker 8 (37:43):
It brings me back to my days of vacationing over
there as a kid.

Speaker 5 (37:47):
Man. All you guys do is stop complaining. Man, let
the game speak.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
Wow are you Slovenian? Is he still there?

Speaker 3 (37:55):
He lost him? Yeah, he lost him.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
That was impressive. I have no idea what he was saying.
I just hope you weren't cursing.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
No, no, no, he said he didn't curse. Let's go
to Jerome, I Man Romeo in Charleston. You're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
Jerome, will you trashing.

Speaker 5 (38:12):
Rudy Rudy Gobert? He's making forty one million this year
and forty three million this year? And is there something
wrong with me? Huh? Is there something wrong with me? Honey? Hell?
Is that possible? At FT forty something million, twenty million
over two years?

Speaker 4 (38:31):
That ain't possible?

Speaker 5 (38:32):
Man? What come of Bozo in the front office in Minnesota?
To god? Alex Rod Reagan's okay, never mind, he.

Speaker 1 (38:43):
Was defensive TOI four times defensive POI is that fun?

Speaker 3 (38:50):
That's addition Hawaii. Isn't it fishing?

Speaker 5 (38:53):
Pois?

Speaker 8 (38:54):
No, you know what that is?

Speaker 5 (38:56):
Right? No?

Speaker 1 (38:56):
I know of the playoff the year, Yes, I know,
POI I mean, look, go Bear has been disappointing this
series for darn sure, Cat Cat right, Cat making more
money than him. Shoot, they a lot of their guys
are left down. They're up twenty to ten right now, Rob,
we'll see, I mean so early. You can't can't put

(39:18):
too much in that, but you know, at least they're giving.
They're coming. They came to play, right.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
The season is over, Chris, they gotta play tonight. If
you don't play to night, come on.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Right, they came to play, So we'll give them credit
for that, all right? With they couple, we got one
hour left. Y'all know what to do. Keep it locked
here on Fox Sports Radio, the iHeartRadio app or Serious
