Rolling with Rob g Infra Martin Weiss coming up at

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Rob we talked earlier about c J.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Stroud and his interview with Gilly the Kidd and others
on a million dollars worth of Game, and.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
He said some strong stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
He said that Matthew Stafford could have won, would have
won three or four championships Super Bowls.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Had he been in Green Bay instead. Of Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
And he said as well that he was asked rob
who whose career he would rather have, between Eli Manning
and Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
A lot of Aaron Rodgers theme stuff that was going on,
but here he.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Is, if you had to pick a career to have,
I'm gonna have Aaron Rodgers' career or I'm gonna have
Eli Manning's career.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Who career are you taking?

Speaker 5 (01:52):
You want the rings? No, you don't want?

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Gee? Did Gilly the Kid agree with him? I mean
it sounded like, but.

Speaker 6 (02:03):
He's very anti Aaron Rodgers. If you watch any of
that podcasts.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Oh wow, role like that's the whole show.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
I mean, you know what.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Else he said?

Speaker 5 (02:13):
What else?

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Did Roger?

Speaker 4 (02:14):
He said something else about Rogers and we're not gonna
do the whole Rogers thing, But what you mean?

Speaker 6 (02:21):
Gilly the Kid was kind of leading him in some
ways because he really doesn't like Rogers.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
Day's overhyped, overrated. But CJ. Strow, whatch you're alluding to?

Speaker 6 (02:29):
He was talking about his relationship with Tom Brady and
Tom Brady's the big mentor his and he said, tom Brady,
one thing he taught him is that you know take
care of your teammates because ultimately it's a team game
and if and if they're happier, these are gonna go
well for you. He said, the difference between Brady and Rodgers.
I don't know if Rogers has that relationship with his teammates.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah, yeah, so he was.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
You know, he better back it up. That's all I
got to say. When you talk like that, and I
like him, but you got to back it up. But Rob,
where are you at on the whose career would you
rather have?

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Eli Mannings or Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 1 (03:04):
It's not even close. I take Aaron Rodgers all the way.
It's different. If you never want. I always say that,
if you never want, then you could look at it
and say, man, Dann Marino, some people thought he was goat.
He never won. He went to Super Bowl his second
year in his career, never went back. Okay, I get it.

(03:26):
You would want a chance at winning, Chris to put
the icing on the cake, to cherry on top. Whatever
you want, Especially the kind of career that uh Dan
Marino have.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
That's a more interesting. That's an interesting discussion Marino's career
or Eli's because liken't get one.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
And that's what I'm saying he didn't get one. I
just when the guys are all pro and all this,
and I just can't really look at that and say,
and you know, I think I deserve to be in
the Hall of Fame. I think because he beat the Patriots,
oh the eighteen and old Patriots, you know, and all
those other things. And I give him credit for the

(04:11):
two big throws he had, but the bodies of work
just a mismatch. They just a mismatch.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Rob It's not like you said, It's not even close.
I mean, I'm sorry. And a shout out to Eli
because he had two incredible playoff runs and some magical
moments Chris, two big ones.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Right, No if sands or butts about it, but.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Come on, there is no way I would rather have
beat Eli.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Man in terms of his career than Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Aaron Rodgers for only having one super Bowl and that's good,
but he got the only the one super Bowl. He's
still in the discussion, firmly in the discussion.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Robe for top five quarterback of all.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Yes, he's got four MVPs. And let's keep it real,
all of us. Yes, we want to win, but we
also want to excel individually, right, Michael Jordan.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
There's a couple of stories about him. Rob.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
One was he wanted to win, but he wanted to
be the reason they won, right, And And another one
was when text Winner one time when Jordan was coming
there was a timeout and Jordan's coming off the court.
I don't know, maybe he took a bunch of shots
or something, and text Winner said, Michael, there's no I
in team.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
And Jordan said, but there's.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
An eye and win, right, I mean, and Rob, look,
I was I told you I was a role player
when I played basketball in college.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
And yeah, as a role player, I just want to win.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
I wouldn't worry about how many points I got or whatever,
because that was your role.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
I was just playing good.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
D want to help the team win, all right. But
when you are a star, like when you got star ability,
you don't want to just go somewhere and average twelve
points a game and win a championship. You want to
win a championship, sure, but you want to be able

(06:22):
to fulfill your individual potential. And so, and I think
everybody feels that way. And so I look, Aaron Rodgers,
I talked earlier about you know, the disappointments in the NFC.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Title games and all that.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
But the fact is for MVPs that's second most all time,
right to Peyton Manny's five yep, one of the top
five quarterbacks or so ever, and does have a Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
You can't say he's not a winner. So it ain't
even close. It's not even close.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
I just that's just that's just an agenda there that
maybe that's what they want or whatever. And and it's
fine if you think Eli, you would take that career. Uh,
but even you look at Peyton Manning, Chris the second
one he got? Was that really Eli? I mean Peyton
Manning the second one.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
I mean he gets made and he gets brig time
credit for that route.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Yeah, you know, I mean, like you're right Yards, I mean.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
He just play one despite him. There's no question about that.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Are you kind of saying now I think Peyton Manning,
I'm not I'm not saying.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
I'm just saying Rogers.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
I'm not talking about like I'm talking about this like
there's a very small difference between them in terms of championships.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
I would give you that.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Yeah, That's what I'm just saying, Like, like like there's
one like where you win and you're great and people
look at and go, my god, And there's another one.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
If you aren't great, you're at least you're in your prime.

Speaker 4 (07:55):
You're a driving force for the team all year, even
if you had a bad game. But and Manny was
not a driver for us, for them all year. He
struggled that year. They got benched that year for what
was that brock?

Speaker 1 (08:09):
What was that guy's name?

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Yeah, I know who.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
You know what I'm talking about, Chris, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
so yeah, I feel but you're right. People don't seem
to really think about that when they think of Payton.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
They just think of the two Super Bowls. But yeah,
he really.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Eli's two Super Bowls are more impressive Christen than Peyton's.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
Well, the games, the yes, the games he played.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
I agree both.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
I mean, obviously you rather well would you who's whose
career would you rather have?

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Between?

Speaker 1 (08:39):
No, I would take pay Manny with five m vps.
But I'm just saying, if you're just going just I mean,
it's almost robed almost. It's not apples to apples necessarily,
but it's almost like saying, would you rather be David
Tyree or Alvin Johnson? And I know Johnson didn't even

(09:02):
win a Super Bowl, but my point is didn't want
to play all time great. He's an all time great receiver.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
And Tyree, you know, obviously wasn't MVP of that game,
but made this historic catch in the Super Bowl. I
just saw him last week at breakfast my wife and
did you really Yeah, he's here in Jersey, he said,
you know, we're pretty good friends.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
The bad part is he walks around with a football
stuck to his helmet. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
But sorry, sorry, y'all that that they don't say that
on sports rap radio.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
They're gonna start calling the sports whack radio.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
So I'll look at you already giving us a bad name.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Not y'all you're.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Gonna put that on a put that out there.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Shoot. But no, I mean, it's not even close. And
I've heard people some Rob.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
I think sometimes sometimes people almost are unable to have
a nuanced discussion because when we talk about whether it's
Jordan Lebron or whether it's Brady versus whoever, when you
bring Rings into it, which is a factor, some people

(10:19):
just hear that conversation and now to them, Rob is
just rings. It's nothing else. It's just ring. We're never
saying that. We're saying that is a legitimate part of
the discussion, and it's a meaningful part of the discussion,
an important one, but it's not the only part. And

(10:44):
so I just think this is a situation where it
seems like, I mean, CJ just even said you want.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
Them rings, you want those rings.

Speaker 6 (10:53):
Now.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
I like that he's got that attitude because I.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Think he's more talented than Eli, and maybe, you know,
maybe he will he'll be a big winner and put
up the individual numbers.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
That'd be great. But I mean, like I said, rather
the interesting one is Marino or Eli. That's an interesting conversation.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
No, that that that's one where you would have to
cause damn, Marino was a legendary pastor of the football
because way before.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
It became he was watching, he was went up today's numbers,
back when nobody else was coming close to that. I
also think Terry Bradshaw or Aaron Rodgers, I think I
go Bradshaw. He's got of course the four Super Bowl.
I think he won one MVP. He was never he
was not individually as good as Rogers.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
But nobody you know what Terry Bradshaw doesn't get the
love for for for Super Bowls. He just does.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
I think he does, he doesn't.

Speaker 7 (11:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
He's not mentioned as like a top five quarterback because
he wasn't. That's what he is viewed as like this,
he is like a legend beyond what his individual you know,
just regardless like takeaway to winning, his individual performance didn't
warrant the love he gets.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
And obviously he's gotten a lot of love as a broadcaster.
He's done a great job with that.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
But I do think he's viewed as like a legend
because of the four and he was great no Super
Bowls a lot like he made some great throws to
Lynn Swan and John Starworth and all that. But yeah,
that that is an interesting one as well, all right.
Eight seven seven ninety nine On Fox, CJ. Strauss says

(12:33):
he's rather have Eli Manning's career than Aaron Rodgers. Rob
and I disagree. What are your thoughts? Who would you
rather have had the career of Eli or Aaron?

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Your thoughts? Next a couple? Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Al Right, this is Jay Glazer.

Speaker 8 (13:04):
And you may know me for the world of football
or fighting, or even shows like HBO's Ballers.

Speaker 5 (13:09):
Who you don't know is for my entire life.

Speaker 8 (13:11):
I have lived in something I refer to as the
gray depression anxiety. So now I'm coming out with a
new podcast, Unbreakable, a mental health podcast with Jay Glazer,
where each week, while we talk about mental health, I
hope to describe.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
It, give it words.

Speaker 8 (13:26):
Listen to Unbreakable with Jay Glazer on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
All right, it's the Idbubble. Chris Brusar and Rob Parker eight.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Seven seven ninety nine on Fox has just turned the
way in on whose career would you rather have?

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Eli Mannings or Air Rodgers?

Speaker 1 (13:51):
All right, here we go. Did you say the number?
Chris eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Let's start
with Fred No no no JJ in Minneapolis. You on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up?

Speaker 3 (14:02):
JJ?

Speaker 9 (14:04):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 10 (14:04):
Guys?

Speaker 9 (14:05):
Can you hear me? Okay, yes, we got you right on. Well, Hey,
I live in Minneapolis, but my dad grew up in
a town just outside of Green Bay, Wisconsin. So I
want to clarify that I am a huge Packers fan.
But I think one thing that we could say that
would help argue in Aaron rodgers favor is that not
only is he an all time great quarterback, but he's
an all time great Packers quarterback. And I know that

(14:27):
New York has some rich football history too, but I
would much rather have my jersey number hanging up in
lambeau Field. You know, I would rather be up next
to Brett Farv fart Star. These are other great names
in football history.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
They've had three unbelievable quarterbacks. It is unbelievable in greenback
three are the best ever nat Am I right, Trida.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
I would even say this, Robbie.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
You might agree if Eli does what he did in
anywhere but New York or Dallas, he might not be
a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
I don't know. I'm gonna tell you why. I being
the Patriots is significant. That that's the big one, Chris,
that that the eighteen and O patri that that's the
one that will be the reason why he gets in.
I believe that.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
I think it's just being in New York and winning too.
Jim Plunkett won two. Now he didn't, he didn't make
any Pro Bowls. He wasn't as good as Eli, but
he You know, you don't even hear anything about Jim Plunkett.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
He went with the Raiders, who are legitimate. But I
don't know. I could be wrong, but that's my feeling.
He is in New York and his magnified.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
John in New Hampshire. You're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 10 (15:36):
What's up John, Good evening Fellas. First of all, congratulations
Rob on the launch of you new station in d
best of and many more cities hopefully going down in
the future. I can't wait to see the Texans play
the Jets this year. That's going to be interesting to
see with the quarterbacks. Yeah, that would be pretty interesting,

(15:58):
the old guy against the young guys. Obviously, I would
take Rogers over Eli Manning. Now again, I'm partial. My
favorite play of all time is Aaron Rodgers. But I
think if you want to compare this for something else,
even outside of sports, let's compare it to actors. Would
you rather have Hillary Swank's career or Al Pacino's career?
Hillary Swank has two oscars. Al Pacino has one. I
think we'd all agree al Pacino.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
Absolutely, that's a great that's a great one right there. Yeah,
you want to be al Pacino Chris any day, am I.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
Right, no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Yeah, that's a good one. We appreciate that, yep, as always.
Thanks John in New Hampshire. What about Will and Wisconsin?
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's
up Will?

Speaker 3 (16:38):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Gentlemen?

Speaker 7 (16:40):
Happy finals eve here and not quite yet? Yes, oh yeah,
it's Final Finals Eve Eve and gratulations man on being
able to talk about longevity there and back again. I
think with the I think it was celebrated there on
the in the be bro thing where you interviewed Daryl

(17:01):
Strawberry their earlier career that had.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Yeah, you know what the crazy part about that, Will,
I interviewed Strawberry forty one years ago when I was
nineteen years old, and then to be in New York
Chris Saturday for his number of retirement. Yeah, and then
the question that I asked in the press conference for
MLB BRO is the question that SNY used on their

(17:24):
web on their social media. So that was pretty interesting.

Speaker 7 (17:28):
Thanks will oh absolutely and that first caller man. And
I know, you know, guys, I might not have as
cheerio of Evin esteem to put Aaron Rodgers in the
top five as some folks. And it's not for you know,
hating or anything like that. It's just that man with
all the great tradition in green Bay quarterbacks. Man, he
is in that hall he does, you know, and his

(17:50):
play for that team. I know, folks talk about Dallas.
You know, it's a media market, and Dallas gets to
market that product, you know, outside of the South, you know,
all in the East Coast and things there. So even
when they have a bad season, you know, it's getting
you know, they're they're getting in front of people. But
green Bay has had such sustained excellence it's kind of sucked,
really right to kind of see where the frozen tunder right,

(18:12):
that mystique of green Bay not being able to be
beaten because of this deal there at home and that
kind of being shattered and folks still playing into that.
Now we've got another one, you know, coming here in
Jordan Love, and I think that as I turns.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Out to be an all time great, that will be incredible.

Speaker 7 (18:29):
Man outstanding, But They've also had other guys too, right,
just I mean Aaron Brooks there leaving the team and
then going to change a culture into winning there down
there in New Orleans. So they have had other guys
kind of come in there too, uh so, and so
they do have that right formula. But Aaron Rodgers played
so many years there. Uh as far as weapons and things, man,

(18:51):
he hasn't had some of those defenses now that that
Eli has enjoyed. But yeah, absolutely, man, I'd much rather
have Aaron's career for that estm, for playing for a
team like Green Bay and and and really being able
to individually you know. And I don't know if Alex
is there, but there's this whole thing when Lord of
the Rings where the nts get together and they happen

(19:13):
to make a decision. Well, the iNTS have got together
and are between arm talent. He has better than Dan
Marino for sure.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
Good man.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
It's the in the trees the ends.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Okay, what a pool by that guy.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Very nice. He just you know, catering to you, trying
to you know, pander to you. What about Alex is
like the greatest guy I've ever met.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
I like, I mean, respects just just keeping it real.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
I'm real with Alex.

Speaker 6 (19:46):
You're right though, see b I respect realness and playlists,
remember that, Rob realists.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Okay, I need to send you a playlist. All right,
we got trolling or rolling with our man, Robbed.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
All I want you to know is Kriz You know
Martin Wise, I got it. He did a three hour
radio show on Sports Rapp Radio, but he can't do
his segment on the Odd Couple and yours Truly, Chris
helped put a radio station on the air, and guess what,
I'm right here tonight.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Yo, that is impressive.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
I'm I'm wildly impressed, man of the people, happy with
you doing this station because of the opportunities it presents.
And Martin it's a great opportunity for him. He's doing
a daily show for three hours, right.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Yeah, it'll be two in September, but all summer three hours.
And then of course his show from Fox Sports Radio
is on Saturdays. You know, with he gonna be big
on six days a week.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
That is awesome. That is awesome, But trolling and rolling
is next.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at
Foxsports Radio Dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search
FSR to listen live.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
All right, it's time for trolling and rolling with Rob
g in for Martin White, Tom Brady, he's done. Aaron
Rodgers did not have a Pro Bowl season.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
Trying to kiss me.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
It's trolling or rolling.

Speaker 6 (21:16):
That's right, it is trolling and rolling. Here on the
yakap of Fox Sports Radios. Robbie's sitting in for Martin Wise,
who officially has more jobs than Rob Parker.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
Shout out to Martin Weiss being out threw in the math.
I think he has five different streams of income. Very nice,
that's incredible. He still can't aford to young general. We
can't afford a quarter of Christmas Starr's house. But no, no, no,
it's okay, all right, So I got much.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Older than Martin.

Speaker 6 (21:41):
He'll get there, he'll get That's something that you say
is very condescending.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
Chris, No, he will, he'll get my younger. I didn't
have this when I was his age either.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
When did you really have all this? Like at what age?

Speaker 6 (21:55):
It's not at least twenty years now, right, I mean
I've progressed. Okay, that's something rich people say all right,
we're gonna move on. We were comfortable. That's what rich
people say, right, Chris, We're comfortable.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
I'm blessed.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
All right, here we go. All right, I got several
sports stories.

Speaker 6 (22:11):
If the guys like it, hear the roll sound, they
see me, and if they don't like you get the
troll sound. Oh man, hey, hey, hey, it's just that simple,
all right, guys.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
Earlier this week we talked about it on the show.

Speaker 6 (22:24):
Justin Jefferson became the highest paid non quarterback in NFL
history four years, one hundred and forty million, one hundred
and ten million of that is guaranteed. And now that
JJ's deal is done, all eyes are shifting towards CD LAMB.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
MICHAEH.

Speaker 6 (22:39):
Parsons spoke about it today at his media availability, saying
that CD is quote about to hit the brinks truck,
Rob Parker trolling or rolling CD Lamb should reset the
wide receiver market again.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
I'm trolling it, oh many, Hey, hey, hey, I don't know.
I just to me Jefferson and what he has been
able to accomplish or whatever. I just think he's at
the top of the food chain. I'm not saying that
Lamb doesn't deserve a nice payday, but I don't think

(23:15):
if I'm the Cowboys, I don't pay more than that.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Yeah, I'm trolling it in.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
Oh Man, It'll be interesting because I mean, look, I
get it. CD probably feels like he's the best receiver
in the league.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
And that's fine.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
I mean, most of these great receivers feel that way,
and he should. But Justin Jefferson, we all think most
people think it's the best receiver in the league. And
it'll be interesting to see if CD rob ghost for
more than Justin Jefferson. You know, does he try to
get more? I mean I guess he will, but you know,

(23:52):
or does he settle? I was thinking CD or Justin
got one hundred and ten million guaranteed. So CD's now
where he might have been at ninety had they signed
him earlier. AJ Brown got eighty four. Now he's probably
gonna be looking at at least one hundred, and I
think that could be where it settles at.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
But no, I don't. I don't.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
And I actually think Jamar Chase is better than CD
as well, So I don't think he should be the
highest pay receipt.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
And you know, if you're Jerry Jones just put some
of his money into a CD and he can let
it grow over the next few years.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
Okay, it was not funny first night. It's not a
good look.

Speaker 6 (24:36):
That is a foul bus man, all right, Trolin Rolandokap
with Fox Sports Radio story number two. I don't know
if you guys saw this, but Rashid Wallace and Draymond
Green are having an epic word of words on social
media comparing the two thousand and four Detroit Pistons and
the twenty seventeen Golden State Warriors. Rashid started off by

(24:57):
saying that his team would quote beat the black out
of them for the fact that they could not match
up with them at any position. Dremond responded, quote, shed
we would have smacked y'all. Y'all were scoring seventy two
points a game. That's not even winning a half. Chris
Brussard trolling or rolling that Rashid Wallace is out of

(25:20):
pocket for this one for thinking his team could beat
the seventeen Warriors.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
Trolling, oh many.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Now, I don't think that the Pistons, I used to
call them the bad Boys, the remix. I don't think
that old four Pistons team would have beaten Golden State.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
I think Golden State was better, but.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
I'm not mad at Shed for thinking his team could
have beaten them. If you had said, trolling or rolling
that the four Pistons would have beat Golden State, I
would have been rolling.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
What trolling that? Like?

Speaker 4 (25:56):
I said, I think Golden State wins. But she's fine.
I mean, look, we can say this. We beat the
Shaq and Kobe Lakers when they had Carl Malone and
Gary Paygon.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
I get it.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
That team was kind of jacked up, a lot of
internal stuff going on, and Malone was even injured but playing.
But I ain't mad at she for feeling that even
though I disagree with him.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
I'm rolling with it.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
They see me.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
You're playing the rules that they played with in two
thousand and four, they would beat the twenty seventeen Warriors.
What I mean that team used to hold teams under
like eleven games in a row on the seventy. I mean,
it was incredible. It depends on what rules you're playing.
But again, I watched that team up close cover the
almost all the games. No, I had no problem, and

(26:45):
the Black and White Sneakers whatever the bell. So I
do feel like I know that team inside and out.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
That's all all right.

Speaker 6 (26:57):
Story number three I a couple of Fox Ward Drado
trolling Roland. This one's a little spicy. Former New York
Jets general manager Mike Tannebaum, now with the ESPN, made
some serious headlines on Friday with Dan Patrick when he
said if he had a league wide draft of NFL players,
the only player that he would take ahead or behind.

(27:20):
Excuse me, the only player that he would take ahead
of Jordan Love is Patrick Mahonmes, which means, given the
entire roster of NFL players, he has Jordan Love as
the second best player to build a franchise around.

Speaker 5 (27:34):
Rob Parker trolling or rolling.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
Jordan Love as the second greatest foundational piece in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Right now, Yeah, I'm trolling that. Oh man, I know
I'm not. Who do we just talk about.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 1 (27:55):
No, No, no, Stroud, who was incredible his rookie year.
I would go there, I just would. And that's no
disrespect to what Love has been able to do.

Speaker 6 (28:09):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Love's been in the league for four years. Stroud just
showed up and what he did last year, Chris, I'm impressed.
I'm gonna going with Strout.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
I agree, I'm going with CJ. Stroud over Jordan. Look,
Jordan had a great half a season, which it was
was good enough to really equate to a great full season,
but he was I think in a better situation than
C J.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Stroud.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
CJ. Strow had a rookie head coach.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Uh, he had a franchise that had just been in
the dulgrums for years. I mean, guys were just verbally,
you know, wanting out of there, publicly wanting out of there.
And again, he was a rookie, not he didn't have
three years to learn under Aaron Rodgers like Love did.

(28:58):
So I and I and the weapons I think are comparable.
Now he's got Stefind Diggs, but didn't have the running
game that Jordan Love had last year in Green Bay,
So I think and I look, I think they got
good coaching obviously in Houston, but Matt Lafleur is a
great offensive mind.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
We saw that with Rogers. So I think Stroud had an.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
Even better year than Love, and he had he was
in a more challenging situation.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
So I would go with C J. Stroud.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
Other you know, obviously, you think, Okay, Josh Allen he's
got his.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
Warts with the turnovers.

Speaker 4 (29:35):
You think, lamar, Okay, he's not in the past or
that some of these top quarterbacks are, even though he's
a top quarterback because of the running. So I'll give
Love some respect to see if he can develop more
if this year he's a great quarterback and really becomes
that perennial, you know, Pro Bowl quarterback.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
But for now, I'm definitely taking CJ.

Speaker 5 (29:57):
Stroud over all right, tro.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
All right there it is Rob g lacked the enthusiasm
of Martin Weis, but.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
Hey, at least you could hear me, right, that's true.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Your phone is much better than his.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Especially since he wasn't on a phone, right.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
All right?

Speaker 1 (30:17):
People laugh?

Speaker 3 (30:18):
I can I guess. I guess they're hiring JJ Red.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
I mean, I don't think all these reports are false,
and I think guys that are putting it out there
as a maybe or he's leading, they're probably maybe trying
to protect some sources or something. I don't know, but
we'll get into that next. Is he the right fit
for the l A Lakers? A couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
Post it right after we get off the air. All right,
Rob G So JJ Reddick Lakers give us the latest.

Speaker 6 (31:23):
Well, this is kind of more of the same. Well,
it's been reported now for a few weeks. It started
about two weeks ago when the Athletics Jovan bou our
friend of the show, reported that the Lakers front office
viewed JJ Reddick as their version of Pat Riley. So
anytime you start there you can guess where things are going.
And it culminated today hit a boiling point when the

(31:45):
Athletics Sham Sharanya put out this report that the Lakers
are quote zeroing in on JJ Reddick as their front
runner to be their next head coach, and the expectation
is he will be hired once the NBA Finals are concluded.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
Let me ask this because why, I mean, there's nothing
prohibiting that I know of, correct me if I'm wrong,
prohibiting him from uh, you know, being named Lakers coach
and still calling the final.

Speaker 5 (32:14):
No, nothing at all.

Speaker 6 (32:15):
But according to several outlets, most recently Dave mcmanhamum of ESPN,
the Lakers number one want to respect the process of
the NBA Finals, not take away from the games themselves
because JJ is the guy calling all what could be
seven games. And number two, this one is more lightly
reported that the Lakers are kind of waiting because once

(32:36):
the season is over, JJ is no longer an ESPN
employee and there could be some kind of contractual obligations
that he would have that they would have to be
responsible for.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Right, all right, that makes sense, that makes sense.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
But yeah, Rob what I mean, Look, I kind of
feel like when they, I mean, obviously they wanted to
fire Darvin Ham once Budenholzer was off the market, I
kind of think they were like, like, nothing out there
was going to look like a sure upgrade over him.

(33:15):
Maybe they I mean, they probably had their eyes on
Reddick for sure. At some point, but this is just
a reach. Who knows. I mean, he might be great,
he might be the next Steve kerf all we know.
But it's a very tough situation. Steve Curky the next
Jeff Saturday too, He could I mean, I think that's
totally different.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
I mean, I think I'm.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Just saying he could be I mean, I'm just saying
he could be terrible. Yeah, I mean, I mean when
I said but when I said just Saturday, I'm just
saying a terrible coach who had no experience.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
I'm just saying there is a difference in that we've seen.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
We have seen several coaches with no experience whatsoever takeover
teams and something well, and some did poorly, but we
never saw anything like Jeff Saturday that was just completely
out of you know, left field.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
That's all I'm saying is the difference.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
But I you know, I just think it's a tough
situation for him or any coach rob because I mean,
that team is expected and expecting to like compete for
and really win championships. That's the pressure that they kind
of have on them. And if they don't get there,

(34:28):
which I don't think they will, Minnesota is gonna be
better next year. Dallas is gonna be better. Okay, See
should be better. You know, New Orleans should be better.
Like a lot of these younger teams are gonna be
better than they were this year.

Speaker 3 (34:47):
That's not even to mention the Eastern Conference.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
And so I think it's a situation where you step
in expected to kind of deliver a championship, but that's
that's darned near.

Speaker 3 (35:02):
I wouldn't say impossible, but it's unrealistic. And then he's
gonna get.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
None of it makes sense to me. None of it
makes sense because you're trying to win now, Lebron's clock
is ticking, and you're putting the guy who's gonna learn
on the job. I don't care how well you talk
about the game. He hadn't coached, and you could wind
up setting up a bad scenario for Lebron his last
couple of years. It just doesn't make sense.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
Yeah, I would have liked I mean, from the names
that were out there, I would have liked Sam Cassell.
I mean, he's robbed. He's been an assistant now for
fifteen years. He was a leader when he was a player.
He's been under some top coaches, Doc Rivers. You know,
for all his struggles in certain situations, you know, Doc

(35:52):
also has won a championship, you know, and he's so
I think he's paid his dues. Look like I said,
I don't know what Reddick. You know, we'll see, but
you know, there are some we talked with Antonio Daniels.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
He was saying he doesn't know how.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
He'll be received in the locker room because he was
just playing three years ago, right.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Some of these dudes were taking him to the basket.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
Some of these dudes were hunting him, saying he can't
guard nobody hunting him, you know, and all that, and
then there's the element of you Donnis haslim Rob saying,
people gonna look at it this this is Lebron's guy,
rightly or wrongly.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
We don't know that.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
I don't know that Lebron is behind this, but he
does have a podcast with JJ. So some people are
gonna rightly wrongly look at that as man Lebron's kind
of coaching this team. And so it's gonna be it's
a really a tough situation for JJ Reddick to step into.
I'm not trying to feel sorry for him because he's
gonna be blessed with a nice contract.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
But it's gonna be tough.

Speaker 1 (36:56):
Yep. I just think it's a it's a tough situation,
one that I just think is going to backfire on them.
I do. I think it'll wind up not working out.
I just coaches who are putting energy and putting all
kinds of other stuff. Chris, it hasn't worked out for

(37:16):
those guys get run out, and now they're gonna put
a guy who you could have a problem in the
locker room to start with. So I vote against this,
and I think it'll end up at a disaster. Rob.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
They got to the Western Conference finals with Darvin Ham
and he got fired.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
They won a championship with Frank Vogel and he got fired.

Speaker 4 (37:37):
I mean, it's championship or you would think at some
point he gonna get fired unless they give him a
long leash because they think he's pat Roley.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
All right, It's the odd couple. Chris and Rob signing
off peace
