us at the bottom of the hours. Since we talked
with Rick, so Rick, you usoul.
Speaker 5 (01:11):
To do a lot of the NBA TV back in
the day too, right, Remember I did a.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Good job too. Yep, all right, Rob, Let's turn to baseball.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
And Rob g what it was we were talking about
O Tany and Judge we did it the other day
and what kind of sparked this conversation about you know
if one of them like, but.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
This is from Jason Stark right with the Athletic, Is that?
Speaker 6 (01:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:44):
Yeah, So Jason.
Speaker 7 (01:45):
Stark wrote a column for the Athletic. He has a
lot of good stuff over there, but he wrote a
column that came a.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Really good baseball writer and he worked for the Philadelphia
in Choir ESPN. You know what I mean, He's been around, he's.
Speaker 7 (01:55):
Been around, he's been around, gives getting jobs, so you
know he's good. So he wrote a column discussing the
current state of baseball and which guys he believes are
Cooper's down bound. And he did it based on a
tier system. So he had guys who are already in
no matter what, Guys who he said are in the
red zone, guys who are past the fifty yard line whatever.
Speaker 5 (02:16):
He'd like a football comparison.
Speaker 7 (02:18):
So when he put together this list the guys that
he had in as locks that if the career ended today,
had one issue with one of them that they're already
in no matter what. Were Max Schurzer justin Verlander, Mike Trout,
Clayton Kershaw, Freddie Freeman, and Joey Vado. No, I have
(02:41):
two issues through and so Rob had issues obviously with
the Joey Vado and the Freddie Freeman.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
And sure we'll get to that here in a second.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
So then he had guys who were in the red zone.
Speaker 7 (02:51):
There was another several all stars, Mookie Beds, Bryce Harper's
in there, Manny Machado's in there. But two guys who
he had only as quote across the fifty are the
two biggest stars in baseball bar none, Aaron Judge of
the New York Yankees Sho ha Otani of the Los
Angeles Dodgers. Now, we did say if these guys keep
playing and they keeputting up the numbers day, but no,
(03:13):
they'll get in. But if their's careers ended today, according
to our man Jason Stark, neither one of them would
be Cooper's down bound.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
H Yeah, I'm it talk for me to believe. And
I get the premise, like you're season us to end
right now. There's a lot of stuff here, Chris to unpack.
We already know show Hey, uh with the pitching part.
Something that nobody's done since Babe Ruth in the twenties.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
So we get that, and even on the level. But
Ruth didn't do it.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Right, right but right, no doubt about it. But here's
the other thing too. Judge has some things going for him,
and I know one of his big his arguments was
he's a couple hits shy of a thousand, Chris, like
that was his thing. Yeah, he don't even have a
thousand numbers because he just hadn't played right. He's been injured,
but his numbers when he played. I mean, it's not
(04:13):
like he hasn't played. When he's played, he's played and
just hasn't performed well. In this man's Major League baseball
right now, where Chris, so many guys don't even hit
two hundred. It's batting three. He's not just swinging for
the fence for thirty two home runs and he's betting
what is a schwaber with the Phillies. Chris, Right, he
(04:36):
hits a lot of home runs, but he batted one
seventy one if Aaron Judge was doing that. No, this
guy's betting three fifteen, three twelve or whatever it is.
And he has a record the most home runs in
American League history. Like he has something to hang his
hat on already in his career. There's a long way
(04:59):
to go. Oh, we're looking at this year, Chris, he
could a seventy, Like he's on that kind of pace
right close to it. You mean to tell me, if
Aaron judges seventy home runs this year and he already
has a run and we sets the American League record
with seventy home runs, He's not getting in the Hall
of Fame. I disagree.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
Well, one thing.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
That stood out from Jason Stark's article, and also this
is just I think baseball is that longevity really matters.
Speaker 5 (05:31):
It is that sport. Guys play a long time. Chris.
How many guys in baseball play twenty years, twenty one seasons?
Like it's incredible. You can do it in baseball, you
can't do it in the other sport.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
It's not the ultimate thing, but it is a big
thing when it comes to Hall of Fame. And that's
why the numbers, the total numbers of hits and home
runs and things like.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
That that matter are a factor.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Where is in something like basketball and football, Like Earl
Campbell did not have a long career of dominance. But
because he was so dominant, you know, in the few
years that he was the man, he got.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Into the Hall of Fames, one of the all time
great running backs.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
And you can, you know, you could say that in
basketball Tracy McGrady or other guys a tiny archibald who
didn't have incredibly long careers or at least long stints
of dominance, but when they were the man, they were
at such a high level. And obviously the NBA has
been easier to get into the baseball. But I would
(06:35):
say this, Rob, if let's just say Aaron Judge and
show hal tiny God forbid, Holy said right like, we're
not We're just talking for the sake of conversation. Say
next month. They both had career and the injuries. I
(06:56):
don't think Judge would be in the Hall of Fame
because obviously he would not reach any of the magic numbers. Yes,
he's been great, but it would be such a shortened stint.
And you're right, he's got the record, but Roger Merris
isn't in the Hall of Fame, and he had the
record of sixty one home runs for a long time. Now,
(07:19):
show Hay and maybe the longevity, Rob or the lack
thereof would work against him. But I think show Hay
would have a better chance of getting in if he,
you know, if he suffered that type of calamitous injury
because of what he did as far as the pitching
(07:41):
and the hitting, and he did it at a very
high level in both categories. So I would just say,
and again, maybe the lack of longevity would even keep
him out. But if I had to say which one
would have the better chance of getting in the Hall
of Fame, I definitely think it would be show Hay.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
Only problem is with show Hay is while recently it's
been better Chris no playoffs those years with Trout with
the with with the uh with the Angels right, uh No,
And then he didn't back three hundred until last year.
Was that the first time he hit over three hundred
(08:23):
in his career, didn't win a cy young And and
Judge has a better war.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
He's got two MVPs, not more MVPs than JA.
Speaker 5 (08:30):
I got it, he got two to one. I got it.
But but Judge has a better war then than than
O tany Chris. But I think it's forty seven now.
I'm just saying the fact that yeah, and thirty nine
point four. But that's that's a that's a difference there.
I'm not show Hay is gonna make it as well.
I'm with you, you know what I mean. We both
(08:50):
think they'll both make it, right, But I just think
judges impact playing on a team that when he's not
in it. You remember last year, here's the perfect example.
He's in it right now and they struggling. Might have well,
they got two big address too, but I'm just saying,
(09:10):
I mean, but last year, Chris, they fell off the map.
Would you admit that when he got hurt last year? Yeah, yeah,
they fell off.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
But they're falling off the map right now.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
And he's tearing the cover off the ball.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
Which is which is another one that's unbelievable because Stanton
and uh Rizzo are both hurt and he's still hitting.
Like I can't even get over it. I can't believe
he's still hitting because there's nobody in the lineup really
to protect him, and and that they got two major
injuries for their offense, and the pitcheon hasn't been as great.
(09:42):
We talked about it earlier this year, Chris, their pitchon
was lights out, and it's come back to earth. You
know that it was lights out, it was under three
e R.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Here's what this though, and you know this rob like
the fact that because I don't I would not hold
and I don't think anybo he would hold the fact
that Shoe hasn't been in the playoffs, you know, against him.
It's not gonna be held against Mike Trout. And you know,
it's baseball. I mean, it is what it is. We
(10:13):
understand it. And and on top of that, when you're
comparing the two players, I mean, Aaron Judge is with
the Yankees where you are supposed to win, like you
are expected to win, and just about all of their
greats that got into the Hall of Fame won and
(10:35):
one of their great ones, Don Mattingly, who never won,
is not currently in the Hall of Fame. And so
the problem so would work against if again if it
was just cut short now and against Judge too.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
Yeah, I hear you. But when he's played, his numbers
are ridiculous, Like yeah, that's that's the that's the part
is like when he's played, it's not even club like
like this dude, is what what was the stretch we
just talked about the fifty games, the highest ops in
(11:12):
the history of the game.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
But that wouldn't be enough.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
No, no, no, no, no, I'm not I'm just saying that again.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, if it ended this season, right, we're
just talking about me. Right, he's clearly, like you said,
both of them are clearly on the Hall of Fame trajectory.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
And Jason starts not denying that.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
We were just discussing if, for whatever reason, their careers ended.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
Now, I think sho Hay would be in. You would
probably like, would you vote for both guys?
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Yeah? I mean I think show Hay is going to
get in because of his uniqueness, right, and he wasn't
a number five starter, Chris, He might not be.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
He's not career three point zero e R eight right,
he not.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
He hasn't won a sigh young, but he's a top
tier pitcher and nobody's done that. So to be a
top tier pitcher and then the blossom into this hitter
now that he is, cause he he was pretty good
at first couple of year. Look at his average. You
got it up first couple of years, Chris, he hit
two sixty.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
I mean he right, well, he was playing he wasn't
playing as much. You know what I mean, right, but
I'm just saying his numbers weren't that great, Like, uh,
was his first couple of years?
Speaker 5 (12:23):
What did he bad?
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (12:24):
Go ahead, Rober, Uh first was it six years in
the league two eighty five to eighty six, seventy four
game seven, two seventy three, the last two years dropped
to your point three zero four in this year three sixty.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Yeah, Now he's Chris, He's he's hitting two eighty five
to eighty six is not bad.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
No, but he had a pitching but he had a
two fifty five in there, right and.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
No, yeah, he had a one ninety Yeah, two fifty seven,
two fifty seven.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
I'm just saying, like that's not that great. And in
the era now where people don't hit like power hitters
don't hit forever. Just pretty impressive for him and for Judge,
both of them.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Right, And that year he hit two fifty seven, he
had forty six homers and led the league with eight triples.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
So I mean, if.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
You and if you had if you you are a voter.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
So if these guys again, if their careers were cut
short after this season or at this point, and you
had to vote for one, I guess you wouldn't have
to vote for one. Maybe you you know, wouldn't vote
for either. But would you vote for both if you
had to vote for one or if you could only
(13:34):
let's put it, if you could only vote for one,
would you vote which one?
Speaker 4 (13:38):
Would you?
Speaker 5 (13:38):
Wow? I'm voting for Aaron Judge. If I'm voting for one.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Wow, that's bias. You know, we all know you love
Aaron Judge. There's no way you putting him over show
hal Tani. Show hal Tany's done what no one else
in baseball has ever done, and they're both shortened careers.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
Would both be very comparable. Aaron Judge has a higher war.
If we're gonna go, I'm gonna be a seam head
for a minute. His war is way better, Chris almost
ten points higher. I am dis robbed you.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
You're being biased?
Speaker 5 (14:14):
You why you here knows why?
Speaker 7 (14:18):
I know exactly why Robert Aaron Judge over Otani.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
You know why?
Speaker 7 (14:23):
Because Aaron Judge has single handedly kept MLB bro.
Speaker 5 (14:28):
About three and a half years.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
Well, it's only four brothers, Yeah, all.
Speaker 7 (14:34):
Their content is Aaron Judge all the time.
Speaker 5 (14:36):
We need Aaron Judge, no doubt about it. The All
Star Game we're going to a Dallas, right, thank god
for Aaron Judge is starting No, I mean, Chris, don't
I hear you? And then when the history of where
Otani fits in and the uniqueness of him. But but
I'm gonna say, like his impact hasn't been as good
(14:58):
as Judge, I'm going on the I think it has.
Speaker 8 (15:01):
How not, they didn't win they hit him and has
won anything? Yankees trump they couldn't make the playoffs. It's baseball, Chris?
Do you know that happens all the time?
Speaker 1 (15:13):
If o tany was in New York, you think they
wouldn't make the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (15:16):
But do you remember what was it? What was the
manager with the just forgot a woman? Joe? Remember they
lost fourteen in a row with O'tani on the team, Chris,
they lost four That's what cost him his job.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
O pitch to three.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
The Yankees have won four of their last seventeen games,
seventeen nineteen. Whatever it is, I mean, come on, I
you know you y'all listening. I am cooking Rob Parker
at his own sports what unbelievable eight seven, seven ninety
nine or Fox if for whatever reason they stopped playing
(15:52):
the day would either Aaron Judge or show. Hey, o'tany
be a Hall of Famer? And which one would go
in first? Or maybe which one would you choose above
the other?
Speaker 4 (16:03):
Your thoughts?
Speaker 2 (16:03):

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Mary, Mary, I gotta give you a props you getting
down Cameo and Firecracker, all this stuff I rely from
the Tirereck dot Com Studios Chris and Rob. All right, Rob,
we were talking about if again God forbid, show Hel
(17:12):
Tany or Aaron Judge. Didn't you know if they their
careers were cut short next month, which one would be
more likely to make it into the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 5 (17:28):
I got a twist for you, Chris. Okay, all right,
So there's a chance that they both could win. We
talked about that the triple Crown, even though it's gonna
be hard for Tony with the RBIs right because he's
in the lead off spot. It looks like the Dodger's
going to leave him there, Chris. But who has a chance,
(17:49):
uh at the better career?
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Well, that's a that is a that is a really
good you.
Speaker 5 (17:59):
Know what I mean? Like like.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
I mean, I would say, I mean if Judge.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
The challenge for Judge is just his health, right if
he stays and he has to win, obviously both of
them have if they stay. Yeah, if they both were
to stay healthy and continue to do what they're doing,
and they both would be Hall of Famers and absolute
elite all time greats. I still O. Now, I might
(18:29):
say Judge is the better hitter, right, but I would
say O, Tany is the better player, I would rank
him higher. Yeah, just because of the pitching.
Speaker 5 (18:37):
No, it's hard to argue with the with the two things.
I mean, I'm not you know, I'm a baseball person,
and I understand how important pitching is Chris, and he's
not like he's a fifth starter or anything like that.
But like like this year, which I bring up, Judge
will be elevated if he reaches seventy home runs, wouldn't
(18:58):
he Like like, oh, yeah, he'll be elevated because because
the last guy who did it, you know, people don't
really want to count it or even though we know
he's the best player we've ever seen, but you get
it if Judge does it on that stage after he
already had sixty two to one year. Remember he spotted
(19:19):
the league. The first month, he was awful, he got
booed at Yankee Stadium, right, and he comes back and
has this kind of year that's historic.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
No, I mean, if he is seventy, it'd be it'd
be you he's elevated. Is hard because he's already right, Like,
people know what seventy is. Like he's the the best
offensive player in baseball, right.
Speaker 5 (19:48):
But it would be like Paul Bunyan Like though, wouldn't
it you know, the seventy Chris is all I'm saying, like,
that's a real big number in baseball.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Oh yeah, and again to do it clean, I would
Here's what I'll ask you this route, because you know
you've talked about winning and its important in the MVP rate.
Speaker 5 (20:07):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
With the Yankees now, I think they're gonna clearly make
the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
Yeah, whatever reason. What's going on right now?
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Discuss if they were to fall out of the playoffs
and Judge, let's say, Doesnet hit seventy but he continues
to they hit sixty two again or something like that,
how would that impact your MVP vote? Like, if they
don't get in the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (20:30):
That would hurt. That would be two years in a row, Chris,
And you remember doing a Derek Jeter ear? Oh when
did they not? They might have missed it once or
twice his whole twenty years. It was like a birthright, right,
I mean they made the playoffs every hard every year. Yeah,
so that would be big two years in a row.
You know, and Judge is your main weapon. We got
(20:54):
the other injuries that are going on, but that's not
gonna be for the whole year, so it would be
it would be a blow. And then you have to
take a look and see who else is it? Bryce Harper? Right,
I mean, I'm sorry, I was thinking the National League.
I'm trying to take an American league. Who's that guy
to Steve kwan? Kwan? And who's almost batting four hundred
(21:16):
with Chris with Cleveland?
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Is that with Cleveland?
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (21:20):
Right, I mean he just qualified, just qualified.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
It'll be interesting to see if he.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
I mean up. Yeah, and you know it's a big
for big chance. Okay, Rob, do you got odds on this?
Speaker 7 (21:32):
So the most recent odds now is basically a two
horse race in the Al According to Fox Bet, it's
Aaron Judge. He's a heavy heavy favorite. Number two Gunner
Henderson at the Oriole Right, Gunnar Henderson, He's another one
who's had it. But but you know what Chris could change.
I mean, nobody's hid four hundred since Ted Williams, Right,
(21:53):
he had four six in what the forties?
Speaker 4 (21:56):
You think somebody gonna hit four him?
Speaker 5 (21:58):
No, But I'm just saying if one hits four, hits
four hundred or three ninety, I know, I know, but
I'm saying that would Chris, Oh, that would that would change?
Speaker 3 (22:09):
Right?
Speaker 5 (22:09):
That would alter? Would you agree with that?
Speaker 3 (22:11):
Alter?
Speaker 5 (22:11):
Yeah, there's no way he ain't winning the MVP. He's
winning right right, cleveand's got a good team. Yeah, all right,
it's the OKA. We got Rick Kambler around the corner.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
First, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup

Our next guest is a friend of the show series XM,
NBA radio host also a host on Mad Dog Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
The One, the Only, Rick Kamler. Rick, Welcome back to
the OKA.
Speaker 6 (22:50):
That's been too long, man, Chris and rob A, thank
you for the round of applause. It is great to
hear your voices. Let's shop it off you what's on
your mind tonight?
Speaker 3 (23:01):
Man.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Look, there's a lot to get into with the NBA.
Let's start with Briannie.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
What were your thoughts were you? You know, look, some
were bothered by it, some applauded it. I it's obviously
I think it's a great story.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
I think it was rampant throughout the NBA, and I'm
not gonna start criticizing it here.
Speaker 5 (23:23):
And I'm on the flip side. I think it's a
bad precedent. And I think it's when you start putting
people on teams and whether whether you fully believe that
they should be or not, it could just start something
that's not good. I think that positions on teams need
to be earned, and that's just where I stand.
Speaker 6 (23:42):
So, Rob, what's up. I'm not trying to like like
scrit a moshpit here off the top. Okay, but were
you saying this when Fanasa's hands to the Koupo was
stealing money from the box all those years?
Speaker 5 (23:52):
Was he drafted by the Bucks? I'll ask you that.
I can't remember he was draft you know, because but
he was drafted by the Knicks. And and Johanna's had nothing.
Johanna's averaged six points when he was in the league
when he when Giannis has everything, Wow, but Janni's had
nothing to get him into that league because but he's not.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
He's got him in the league. You don't deny that, But.
Speaker 5 (24:15):
I'm talking about getting into the league. But that's all
in the league.
Speaker 6 (24:19):
Is the same way good point. Good point.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
That's all I said getting into the league.
Speaker 6 (24:26):
Good point, good point. I don't throw it to that.
I mean, look, I'm not trying to throw him under
the bus. Good for him. I had no problem with
the nepotism that was involved there. I have no problem
with the nepotism involved here. I assume both of you
are fathers. I would do the.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
Same I've been practicing for sixty years, but not yet.
Speaker 6 (24:44):
Okay, Okay, I love I love it so so I'd
be doing the same thing. Uh. Look, we've been talking
about this and speculating and wondering about this stopp leble
style for two years. Okay, it's here. It takes me
back in nineteen ninety when King Griffy Senior and King
Griffy Junior ball together on the same field for the
(25:05):
Seattle Who.
Speaker 5 (25:05):
Was the star on that team? Out of those two guys,
who was the star? Was it the kid or the dad?
Who is the star?
Speaker 6 (25:11):
The kid?
Speaker 5 (25:11):
Okay? And who started this situation?
Speaker 6 (25:15):
And I mean it's different, but it's still the history
of it. So I'm fine with it. You know, you
look at most ownership groups from the NBA, what is
it? It's uh it's father. Well, no, it's grandfather, it's father,
it's later the family business.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
Right right, all right, so Rich, I have.
Speaker 6 (25:35):
Zero problem with it. I'm rooting for Brownie to silence,
you know, the naysayers and doubters. Can he play? Is
he gonna last in the NBA? I don't know. Okay,
he barely played at usc uh, but we're gonna see
it the summer league. I'll tell you what. They've got
signage out there right now? Where where you got Alex
r the number two pick, and you got Ronnie the
(25:55):
fifty five pick and Zach Resawchet isn't even in it?
And I talked about that today on NBA radio to me, okay, cool,
you want to put Bronnie and sell tickets with that,
I get it. But let's do a three pack that's
there us, Jay and and Sar and Bronnie. Don't how
do you take out the number one pick and you're
trying to sell your summer league. That was just weird
(26:16):
to me.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Why they put Sor, I mean, I get I'm not
saying reshall say is definitely better than Sorrow, But nobody
knows either, you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (26:26):
They're both foreign guys. So it's not like people, Oh sorrow,
that's gonna drop people.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Nobody knows either one of those guys exactly.
Speaker 6 (26:35):
And I'll tell you, guys. I'll tell you guys. One
thing the Hawks botched that they let build uppy stir
Alex R to the Washington Wizards and then they go,
it's like go to Palacuda's and they resigned Rashaun Holmes
and they still have Marvin Bagley. They have four centers. Okay.
The whole idea of not letting him go to Atlanta
was so we could play. He's in a more private
(26:57):
center position in Washington than he would have been in Atlanta.
And the Hawks are trying desperately to trade Clint Capella.
But I can tell you this much right now, guys,
that was a horrible draft pick by the Atlanta Hawks. Look,
I'm not in, so you're not.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
Look.
Speaker 6 (27:13):
I've watched I've watched highlights, uh long, highlight rips on
both of these guys. Alex Aar has way more upside
than Zach reesae. Zack is a combo forward who can shoot, period,
and he may develop into some other stuff. But Alexar
is seven to one, seven to four, Wings fan gets
(27:33):
off the floor. Uh, he moves his feet on the perimeter.
So he's not going to be a heavy, lead footed
big that's played off the floor and you gotta play
drop coverage and guard skewer him. That's not gonna happen
with him. He's got a nice little mid range turnaround jumper.
He's got a three ball that needs a lot of work.
Great shop locker, great rebounder, brings you all the big
man stuff, the rim running, the lock threat. I think
(27:56):
the Hawks completely screwed that pickup. You're the Hawks, We're
the hell are you going anytime soon? You gotta go
BP a best player available, you can't worry about need.
And so now they let Sadie Fago, they trade aj Griffin.
They're trying to free up some playing time here for
Zach Resache and he's going to be front center at
the summer League. And I'll tell you what, Zach Resache,
(28:17):
don't go two for fifteen because Twitter is gonna blow
you up if that happens.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
What speaking of the Hawks, and I mean, we haven't
had this was Hawks talk ever on our show.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
But it's good. It's good. Stuffy Young, what do you
do with him.
Speaker 6 (28:36):
Well, look, he couldn't have been too happy when that
report came out about there are two untouchables.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
On the Hawks.
Speaker 6 (28:41):
It's Jalen Johnson and it's Zach Griesa. Say, here's the problem.
Here's the problem with Trey Young though, Guys, nobody wants him. Okay, uh,
he's gotten two coaches whacked and coaches talk and it's
a fraternity and he can't make the All Star team right.
I mean he has a couple of times, but this
dude should be a front All Star. These numbers are
game doing right, So why isn't he just every year
(29:04):
a lock for the All Star Game? Because the coaches
vote on the reserves and the coaches don't like Trey
Young because he's getting coaches whacked down here, and you've
got other front offices like, look, he is no longer
a clutch sports guy. So the Lakers are like, okay, cool,
we're moving on. We're not going to get young, right.
So I think Trey Young has made a lot of
(29:24):
interpersonal mistake and they're born of immaturity and he's still
a young guy, and hopefully he figures it out and
irons all that stuff out. But Trey Young is a
great fantasy basketball player. Okay, he's very entertaining the watch,
but he doesn't play a winning style of ball and
he's pissed off most of the league.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
What what about?
Speaker 5 (29:43):
Let me go ahead, I was doing to ask you
about Klay Thompson and and just the h did he
botch his exit from Golden State? I mean they offered
him a contract that was better than the one that
he picked before the season started, and I know he
got his feelings heard he was benched at one point
and whatnot? Should he have remain there with Draymond and stuff?
Speaker 6 (30:07):
No, obviously, I don't even need to ask this sarcastically
or or rhetorically, like who has a better chance of
winning a ring? It's obviously Dallas, and so Clay is
playing that card, and he played that card with the
la versus Dallas thing. He's gonna be a great fit
and look in the final, I don't think he botched it.
I think he played this well. Golden State didn't want
(30:28):
him back because Joe lacop really didn't want to pay him.
Joe lacof wants to get his books straight and stop
being a luxury tax team. Clay took a little bit
of a haircut, but he's okay with that. He's made
a mountain of money. He'll continue to make more money
even after he's playing whatever it is, broadcasting or whatever.
So you know, a few million bucks. Easy for me
to throw that around, but that really wasn't the driver
(30:49):
for him. According to reports, priority number one was fit
and championship, you know, aspirations, and Dallas checks both of
those boxes. Guys, think about the NBA Finals. In the
Austin Games, Kyrie Irving average w fourteen points on thirty
eight percent of whatever it was. He was dreadful. Okay,
that's not changing anytime soon. They got some kind of
Boston hecks on Kyrie. You're gonna need a third option
(31:12):
because when Kyrie is neutralized. Now you're looking at PJ. Washington.
PJ Washington's like, yo, I'm guarding the best player and
you're telling me you need twenty from me tonight. If PJ.
Washington wasn't put on her to give you twenty, he
does that occasionally. They need a reliable, offensive minded third option.
Klay Thompson averaged eighteen last year. I'm thirty nine percent
(31:34):
from three and everybody's talking about he was dreadful. He
was terrible. No, he wasn't. He was an old vintage Clay.
But that's exactly what Dallas needs. They need eighteen ppg,
they need thirty nine percent, and with the gravity that
Luca and Kyrie have, they're gonna get his efficiency up
to about forty one percent. Guys, I think Clay to
Dallas is a great move.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
Rig Look, we're gonna have to have you on at
the top of the hour, no doubt.
Speaker 5 (31:57):
So we got a longer side.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Oh yeah, into it because it's so much I'd love
to talk to you about. But you know how this works.
We gotta pay some bills, so we gotta let you go. Man,
have a great weekend. We will curiously, we will get
you on again soon.
Speaker 6 (32:12):
Thanks brother, I appreciate you. Guys.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
Man be well, Thank you, harm Man Peace. Ryan Garcia

(32:57):

off the air. Ryan Garcia, who Let's just keep it real,
is a mess right now, the boxer who beat Devin
Haney but then was found out he had performance enhancing
drugs in his system so that was declared to no contest.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
And even before that, leading up to the fight, he
was just making crazy comments.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
And his behavior is erratic. But now he's stuck his
foot in his mouth again. Rob Ge kind of explain
this to us.
Speaker 5 (33:28):
Oh.
Speaker 7 (33:28):
Things were hit a boiling point on Thursday afternoon when
he went on a Twitter spaces chat and said quote,
I hate N words, I'm anti black, I'm the KKK. Hey,
let's go bring George Floyd back to life and go
kill that in word again now thy night Thursday night,
(33:52):
after this first went viral, he tweets out, I was trolling.
I want all the killing to stop. I love everyone.
Sorry if I offended you, on Friday, the WBC expelled
him from any potential fights once the suspensions over. That
prompted him to come out on Friday morning with a
Instagram quote unquote apology that reads, in part, let me
(34:17):
get this straight. I've actually supported black communities, have taken
racism from Tim Bradley calling me a zoo animal on ESPN,
and I've turned the other cheek. But I'm racist because
everyone was drunk and saying stuff people say all the time,
including black men. If you get triggered by a word
that means you are too sensitive. God knows my heart
(34:37):
and how I would protect black children to the day
I die. I was speaking against black on black crime.
They took everything out of context. He has later if
I offended anyone, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
And any came out again in the apology saying he's
going to go to rehab.
Speaker 5 (34:56):
Go ahead, Ron that just out totally out.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
He's saying, i'd say say I take all responsibility for
my words.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
Sorry everyone that I offended.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
It's just outrageous and and uh, he deserves to be expelled.
I mean, come on, like like again, he represents more
than himself. Chris right boxing as a whole sponsors, advertisers,
all that other stuff. You just can't be that reckless
and act like, you know, oh, you have a problem
(35:27):
with the M word black guys using all the time?
Really that that that that, that's horrendous, horrendous.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
Ryan Garcia has mental issues. Is he is he on
drugs or something that well, he says he has substance
of Bruce problem. It's gotta be something. Drugs is a problem.
Speaker 5 (35:43):
I'm just guessing.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
I don't know if it's just drugs. But his behavior
is so and this is not just this incident. His
behavior is so erratic. And one day he's you know,
a maniac, as as evidenced by the story you know
with Rob you just told us. And the next day he's,
you know, talking about Jesus Christ and how he's his
(36:06):
Lord and savior and all that. And so Number one,
he's got severe mental issues that need to be dealt with,
and the people that care about him need to make
sure he gets whatever help he needs. Number two, and
I'm gonna say it, and he said something about Muslims too,
like he ripped Muslims or something like that. But you
(36:27):
talking about you represent Jesus Christ and none of us
are perfect. We all make mistakes even as we try
to serve the Lord. But when you say you represent
Jesus Christ, you are supposed to live a christ like life,
and you can't just spout all this nonsense, do all
this nonsense, and then the next day say, you know,
(36:51):
I love the Lord and I serve you. Know you again,
none of.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
Us are perfert.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
We not expect you not to make mistakes. But when
you name that name and associate yourself with him, there's
a standard of behavior that comes with that that you
you should at least try to live up to. And
he doesn't even appear like he's trying. He's just throwing
the name out there all the time. And so I
(37:20):
hope the young man gets the help he needs. I
hope he gets committed to his faith for real. And
I mean, look, I've heard the N word. Please that
don't phaze me. It's not right, and I don't like
him saying it. And even the stuff he said Rob,
i'm kkk, get George Floyd back here.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
And on it like that, that's going to another level,
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
And so he is either a severe racist or he's
got mental issues, which I think he's he I think
he's got some serious mental issues. So yeah, he shouldn't
be fighting because somebody like that. Look what he did
to Devin Haney. I mean, just the fact that he
went in there on juiced up on substances. Thankfully, Haiti
(38:07):
wasn't hurt. Everybody was surprised by the way he beat Haney.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
But you can somebody.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
You let somebody in the ring like that, Rob, and
he could hurt somebody because he's cheating, and so yeah,
no doubt, no doubt. All right, Rob, have a great weekend, man, Mary, Mary,
Rob g moncey all y'all.
Speaker 5 (38:27):
Pierce
