Rob Parker along with former NFL quarterback Sean King, someone
who I am been friendly with for many years. Sean,
I mean from our days at the old network, I mean.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
My guy Pizza days.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Yes, a long time, and we've always kept in touch,
even when Sean is wrong and I have to correct
him on stuff, and anytime he has to get on
my case for stuff that I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
But we're cool.

Speaker 5 (01:32):
I'm probably a little more mature when it comes to
being wrong than you are. You think so, yeah, you
tend to just just take the roller coaster all the
way to the end of the ride, whereas you know
I know when to get off.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
I'm not getting off. I'm right, I'm right. You know
what's at the sean Remember this only math is there
a right and wrong answer. Everything else is up for debate.
Just remember that, man, that's so not.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
True in two and four not two and two and four.
No matter what you're doing the mask.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
See.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
The one thing that I do is I keep scoring,
like I remember what your opinion was, and when it
plays itself out, then we go back and we we
fact checked the opinion.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
You know how many times on this radio program that
I've been right. I mean, we can't even we don't
have a piece of paper that long, do we I
was wrong? Okay, maybe I was wrong.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
Well, I know you got one one fan, Tim in Atlanta.
That's your boy.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
That's that's my guy. Even if you won't go to
Magic City. You know what I'm saying, It's okay, you
can pick him up to go.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
You don't got to go in. They'll bring him to him.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
You know what I mean, what you just you don't
have to partake, you can look is it against the law.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
So we're gonna change your name because see, your name
really has been robbed hashtag hate Parker for so long.
We don't have to change your name. And like has
love for something.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
I'm not a hater. I'm not big time.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Oh man, I've been I've been a newspaper column for
a long time.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I'm just not one of everybody say you.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
I didn't say you weren't good with putting sentences together
and you know, your nouns and adjectives and subjects and
all the title.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
No, but you're a hater.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
My goodness, gracious, all right, speaking of hate, I didn't
I want to share this with you. I was out
this is this is a true story, and it made
me rethink maybe I'm a little a little out there.
So I was at down at the Laker game and
I was out front, and I was just hanging out
by a statue or whatever, and some guy yelled out

(03:39):
and he just said, hey, la, hater, that's what he said.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
And sure, I guess what. I turned around, like I
knew that was it.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Was a crowd of people before a game, and I
hear a guy yell, hey, la hat I turned around.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
He said, see you even turned around.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Because you know and you embrace it and it's sad.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
It's not sad.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Listen at your advanced maturity.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
What are you trying to now?

Speaker 5 (04:11):
No, not at all, it's advanced maturity. I don't call
people because I want to get on one day. Oh,
you should be able to pivot, like I think you
should go as far as to write a letter and
put it in whatever the major is, what the LA
Times is, that what it is in LA and just apologize.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Apologize, Yes, for all.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
Of the vitriol and malice that you've directed at that
organization and their best player.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
You should just used to write a I'm sorry letter.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
That ain't happening, all right, here's somebody who should write
it I'm sorry letter.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Okay, it's not yours, truly, it is.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
One Lebron James. Oh God, because here we go again.
Lebron James. Believe this Laker team, the way it's assembled,
that they are a title contender in the Western Conference.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Here's a listen, take it, listen to this show is
twenty twenty.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
As the team had its ups and downs, we've had
some private conversations about just how much winning still.

Speaker 7 (05:14):
Matters to you.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
You know, you have all the accolades we talked about
the stuff you've been able to earn through this game,
but you.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Still want to win.

Speaker 6 (05:21):
Can you do it here with the Lakers between now
the end of your career?

Speaker 8 (05:25):
It can it happen again?

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Of course? Of course?

Speaker 2 (05:27):
What gives you that confidence because.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
We've done it before.

Speaker 7 (05:30):
We still have two guys who commitment every single day
and myself an eighty. We commit to excellence and commit
to him. We're not that far off, you know, we
were one year removed from the Western Conference. Was this
past year didn't go as well as we will like,
But we're not that far off. And there's so many
teams in the league, you know, so many great teams
in the league and the Western Conference, in the Eastern Conference.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
But we don't see that we are that far off anymost.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
And who was that was that mcday, mckinnick, mcminimum, Okay, yeah,
well you know, Lebron. We got Alebron regard and that's
all nice, Okay, you got you're in with him. Thanks,
thanks for letting us know that that was a reporter flex.
You know we've talked privately and you know how much
you've accomplished and all that.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Thanks Dave. We appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
But ask him some real questions. Ask him about all
the play in that you have to do. You and
A D have to be in play ins two of
the last three years. You're so good you and a D.
You gotta be in a play in. If there was
no play in, they wouldn't even be in the playoffs.
Him and a D together, Lebron's putting up incredible numbers

(06:36):
and they still can't win. He doesn't impact winning? How
about that, Lebron, despite your numbers, it's a struggle every
year for you guys to make it in and you
and A D were healthy last year. Wahapa, Lucy, I mean,
where are those questions, George?

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Well, first of all, you can't say he doesn't impact winning.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
He doesn't.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
He's won in the NBA Championship with three different uniforms.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
That stops.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
That's all news.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Those are facts.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
That's old news, stopping. I just gave you the real
facts of two of the last three.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
What did you expect him to say?

Speaker 5 (07:12):
And so you love a lot of things in life,
but for some reason you just are disgusted with anything
Lebron James, because if he would have answered that question
and said, you know what, we didn't get Demarja Rose
and to Paul George of Valenceinis, so you know what,
we probably can't win it this year, then you would
have been hating on him for not believing. At least
he said the right thing is the leader in face

(07:33):
of the team. He said, we still got me an
a D, which basically is saying, I don't know about
the rest of these slappies, but I know the best
two players on the team have done it before.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Well, how about this question? What else should he have said?

Speaker 1 (07:45):
I had to push back from Dave to say, okay,
you an a D.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
But still it took two of the last three years.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
You guys needed to be in the play in just
to make the postseason.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Why is that, Lebron? Can we why on that?

Speaker 5 (07:59):
Can we agree on this? Lebron James and Kevin Durant
are the two most publicly sensitive. Great, they're the monisode
the most sensitive of all time, the most absolutely and
so you're asking the one guy who's nagled his way
into the good graces of Lebron to be able to

(08:20):
get this interview to basically ban himself, because if he
would have followed up with the wrong question Casselet, it
wouldn't have been him next time Lebron decided to do
an interview.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Hey, Lebron, you have a coach who didn't even coach literally,
I mean a wreck ball or was a coach in
high school or college. How in the world do you
expect to win a championship? You really a coach with
no experience? Can you tell me about JJ Reddick and
how you expect What do you know about his coaching
strategy to make you believe that?

Speaker 5 (08:51):
Hey, I'll say this hat tip to the Lakers organization.
I mean, what a job they did. They never were
hiring coach Hurley, but they had to make the public
believe they were attempting to and they had to fall
back on JJ Reddick, which is exactly what Lebron wanted
from the very beginning. Now we'll see if J. J.
Reddick's any good. You don't know that. I don't know that.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
You thought Jeff Saturday was good when he was hoigh.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
I did not think Jeff Saturday was good, but there
were a lots of Saturday. Jeff Saturday didn't get a
fair handshake, He didn't get a fair chance the line
mid season and took over another God's staff and another
guy's personnel and was basically said, get us to the
end of the season. JJ Reddick got the job in

(09:35):
the off season. He gets to go through a full preseason.
He can push, he can get rid of Gods and
God's starting. He wants build his own staff. These are
slightly different.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
No, but my point is that he had no Jeff
Saturday had no experience affair. And all I'm saying is,
you don't know that that JJ Reddick could be Jeff's
Saturday and it could be a disaster and it is
a big gamble for Lebron and the Lakers with the team,
do you you could wind up wasting Lebron's last two

(10:07):
years if JJ Reddick isn't a good coach or doesn't
know what he's doing.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
But then that's Lebron.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
But but that's what's on this But this is what
I'm just saying, Like, if you're the Lakers and Lebron,
you got to think this through and say this is
not where we want to go. You don't have eight
years to get it right. You got a couple of years.
And look at the Western Conference. It's loaded, Sean, It's
like your taco, your head, it's loaded.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Two years extra Lettuce, it's kind of much.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
Lebron only has a couple of years. He may be
playing when Bryce gets to the NBA. Listen, le Bron
doesn't look like he's old. He's still giving you buckets.
He's still doing everything he used to do, like he
has not aged. Like the great athletes we've seen irregard,
have you watched.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Them play any defense? Have you have you watched Lebron?
The thing I'm asking.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
You, Well, in the NBA, where no one really plays defense,
I'm not really sure what defense is.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Okay, so Lebron, Lebron looks fine to you like everybody else.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 5 (11:08):
He does not look when Jordan's greatest Jordan was I
am A George, the greatest basketball player.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Of all time. Even though he could get buckets with
the Wizards, it looked different. Lebron doesn't look different. Off
its How in the.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
World does Lebron and a D struggle to get into
the postseason. I'm just asking you, it's everybody else's fault.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
I don't know if it's everybody else you need.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Well, that's the problem that I have with with Lebron
and the Lakers, and I don't think when you look
at these other young teams, younger legs, all the other situations,
and always in the back of your mind, the injury
thing is going to be there. A D somehow was
able to stay healthy, and so was Lebron. But these
guys have been banged up the last.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
Few of you.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
Let me say this, COVID saved Lebron's because they were
doing when Magic Johnson took Anzo ball instead of Jason Tatum.
They still are trying to recover from that significant mistake.
And then they got a breaking in COVID. The old
team that was banged up got a break.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
They got the rest four months, they got a four
month run.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
They came back and you know why they ever got
rid of Dwight Howard and uh Jevale McGee perfect go
back to a D and not where he doesn't have
to play center.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
Think about it.

Speaker 5 (12:28):
They had Javal McGee against the Nuggets and ad could
play the four and not be tasked with Garden Joker. Maybe,
just maybe in those fourth quarters, he'd have been able
to produce more offensively, not saying that fixes all the
Lakers problems, saying it's been mistake after mistake during Bron's
tenure there. Well, they're on their fourth coach since Lebron joined.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
The Lakers, and I just don't know if you if
you get rid of here's my problem with the JJ Reddick.
Darvin Ham took them, as Lebron mentioned, to the Western
Conference final, not for years ago, last year, Okay, not
four years ago, last year, and you even hung up
a banner because you thought it was something special, right,

(13:09):
So they took So I'm sorry. They went to Weston
Govern's final and then they hang up a battle for
the nd season tournament.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
That was all.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
That was all within a year, right, a year and
a half, and they go from that to Darvin Ham's
got to get out of here.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
That's where I got an issue with that.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
One want on this you can have an opinion on
whether you think they should have or should not have
hired JJ Reddick, but it's very difficult to have an
educated opinion on how successful he will be because we
just don't know.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
No, we don't know. I agree with that. Nobody knows.
He could be an absolute disaster. If they can lose
their first ten games, he could be gold. He ain't
no pat Riley. That pat Riley's team had already won
a championship when pat Riley.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Got that whole comparison of Pat five percent of the
current NBA head coaches can't be pat Riley.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
No, But I'm just saying that that as a ridiculous
comparison that pat Roddy did come off of television, but
they won a championship the year before. It's a totally
different team.

Speaker 5 (14:07):
We'll see it for Lebron and JJ's barbershop talks, if
they manifest themselves into better outcomes for the Lakers. I
know it's a lot of people in state of California
that are hoping it does.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
All right, All Lebron's Lakers still title contenders area Beloonia, FLA.

in for Chris Bussard. I'll telephone number eight seven seven

(15:57):
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six
sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
I want to hear from.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
You, Lebron James. He says the Lakers are title contenders.
I say, simply, no, way, no how. We want to
hear from you, Sehan. I know people want to jump in.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
Okay, they should, I mean they should.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
All right, let's go, all.

Speaker 5 (16:25):
Right, let's take some calls. Randy in New Orleans. You're
on the Dard couple. What you got, big dark?

Speaker 8 (16:30):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (16:32):
What's up? Randy?

Speaker 12 (16:33):
The boot on this magic city?

Speaker 4 (16:35):
Monday?

Speaker 2 (16:36):
My man?

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Hey, where should we go when we come for the
Super Bowl in New Orleans?

Speaker 9 (16:40):
Man?

Speaker 2 (16:41):
This year?

Speaker 12 (16:42):
I told you, gumboy and girl cheese is on me.
I'm gonna meet you out somewhere. I got you, all right.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Hey, don't forget. We're gonna be down there. Randy. I'm
gonna hold you to it, Okay.

Speaker 12 (16:53):
I gots what, sir, I got it.

Speaker 5 (16:55):
I'm gonna take Randy back for a second. Rob She
she's I went to twu lane.

Speaker 12 (17:00):
She she's on ship.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
That's right. I think Sean's been in handcuffs in that place.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
Never.

Speaker 12 (17:08):
Sean was great at Tulane.

Speaker 8 (17:09):
He was great. We appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yes, all right, what you got?

Speaker 12 (17:13):
Just the weigh in on what you're talking about? Fellas.
You know Ad is injury prone and Lebron is old,
and both of them are at the Olympics, right, and
you're still expecting them to go through an eighty two
game season. Hello, probably a playing tournament and the playoffs
and the finals, all with the rookie coach. I think

(17:35):
that's asking a bit too much. I feel like this
Rib and Sean maybe repeat in season tournament champions Maybe
that's the championship that they're talking about.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Maybe, No, you know what, you might be right, Randy,
and they can hang up another battle next to that one.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
But we appreciate the call.

Speaker 5 (17:54):
But all right, fellas, let's go to Trucker Don in Boston.
You're on the odd couple. What you got us up?

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Truck of Don? My man, where where you at? Truckle
don where.

Speaker 13 (18:06):
You at in Texas? Coming up on Dallas pretty soon?
How you guys?

Speaker 2 (18:11):
All right?

Speaker 1 (18:12):
I'm glad you're in the Dallas area because the Houston,
you know what do they have storms down there and
flooding and all kinds of craziness.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Man loving prayers to people down there.

Speaker 13 (18:23):
And toads and locust. It's biblical over there. It is
a horrible mess.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
You're yeah right, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
All right.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
What you got for is Don, Well, I.

Speaker 13 (18:32):
Was in Birmingham while you were down there. I almost
came to visit you, but I didn't get to. Didn't
work out for me, So all right. I posed this
to Chris and he didn't like it. So I want
to hear your take, cause you were talking about it
before that. Ron is probably getting his coach, you know,

(18:54):
his his player coach position with JJ Red because he's
you know, like they you know, you guys were talking
he could take a dollar page and then be a
coach and get a paycheck that way. So I think
I just got that feeling they bronni you know, in
the first round, and could have used it for a

(19:15):
better peet and held off it. Just all specs of
Lebron thinking that he's running the.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Team, and you know what drunk of don thanks man,
we had to drop your call was going in and out.
We already know Lebron has that controlled over the organization.
They could sit here and tell us he had nothing
to do with JJ Reddick, He had nothing to do
with them drafting Lebron, le Bronni and all that. I
just can't listen to that that talk, Sean, when they
say he has no he has no input, I just don't.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
Has he had the same level of authority regardless of
the coach.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
No, but a bit.

Speaker 5 (19:51):
So many other coaches have become but but disenfranchised a
little bit would even being the head coach.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Yeah, but once somebody gets you a job and put
you on what you're gonna be gonna go against Lebron. No,
there's a degree. Darvin Ham had already done his own thing.
He want to championship with the Pistons. He was on
the Bucks when they won as a coach. He had
his own thing. I mean, he wasn't all in on Lebron.
JJ Reddick was a podcast partner eight seven seven ninety

(20:16):
nine on Fox.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
Shawn and Sacramento. You're on the odd couple what.

Speaker 14 (20:20):
You got, Yeah, go from another mother and mister Sean King,
I gotta keep it real. My brother had been following
you for years. Shawn ive remiss about him, mentioned Andrew,
He's been following all your pigs. He's made a ton
of money. So I got a high ass you man
and shout to you out Drew Fong with Sean King,
have found the pinnacle. But I got I also got

(20:42):
to keep it real. Every time Rob says Rob Parker
with Sean, my heart dropped because I know he ain't
gonna say from Sacramento.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
But I got I know, Sean, you know what I mean.
I gotta do to my New York accent, Sean, give him.

Speaker 14 (20:56):
The queen's accent. You know that's my Queen's accent.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
Rod.

Speaker 14 (20:59):
You can't be giving him the queen SHAWNA. On this topic, Fan,
I'm gonna put it like this, if Lebron James was
replaced by Rob g and making the kind of same
move that Rob Gie has been playing out there in
Lakerland for the last three years, they would still be
a contender. They would probably still have Frank Vogel. They
probably wouldn't have picked up Russell Westbrook, which a terrible

(21:21):
pairing with the rest of the Lakers. And on top
of that, they wouldn't have drafted Ronnie James, the ultimate
rec league move by Lebron James. He's run this team
in the ground. Jerry West is probably rolling around in
his grave every time he makes.

Speaker 12 (21:35):
A call for the Lakers.

Speaker 14 (21:36):
Then Genie Buss. At first we were celebrating her for
taking over the teams. Let's give it back to the
other bus children and see what they could do. They
are terrible right.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
Now, No doubt Sean appreciate it.

It is the odd couple on a Magic City Monday.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Rob Parker and former NFL quarterback Sean King coming to
you live from the tire Rack dot com studios. Now,
let's welcome in Tank Williams, the former NFL dB and
NFL analyst.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Tank, what's up? Say hi to Sean King?

Speaker 14 (22:17):
What's good?

Speaker 8 (22:17):
Fellas? Yeah, that's the reason I came on. You know,
I ain't just you know you robbing Christmas my Man Shaw.
We go way back. I got to get on to
try to get it his neck.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Oh, look at that unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
All right, so uh I'll miss you know, I'll just
step aside, you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (22:38):
All right, whatever you guys got going. Uh, let's talk
about this.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
We were talking earlier on the program about the quarterback
who most would threatened, you know, uh, Patrick Mahomes and
you know, I love it. A lot of people love CJ.
Stroud and what he did his rookie year. Nobody's trying
to put discounted. But I still think it's Joe Burrow healthy.
Joe Burrow or Lamar Jackson, they would be my first

(23:06):
two before I would look at CJ.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Stroud, Where are you have we annoyed him too quickly?

Speaker 8 (23:14):
No, I would say this, when you look at Joe Burrow,
if he's healthy, and you're gonna have T Higgins in
the contract year trying to play to get paid. You
don't have Jamar Chase, who's like, we're already gonna be paid.
And you have these other plethorough of weapons. We don't
see what they do with they running back with the committee.
But Joe Burrow went healthy. He's proven that he could
be the modern day time Brady. But that being said,
I mean, it's hard to discount CJ. Stroud what this

(23:35):
dude did in his rookie year. And Sean could tell
you a better than anyone else. When the quarterback goes
from the rookie year to the second year, that maturation
process is speeds up for him and everything just kind
of slows down. And so if he can do that
along with the added weapons of Stefan Diggs, Joe Mixon
like man, that dude CJ. Stroud could be something dangerous
because he already was last year.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
But hold on, let me just ask you this though.
Trevor Lawrence, after they had that big comeback in the postseason,
a lot of people thought he had made the next
step and he was on his way, and he took
a step back last year.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Would you admit that.

Speaker 8 (24:10):
Oh, I definitely admitt that with Trevor Lawrence, that he
took a step back. And I thought it was a
little perplexing that they paid him. But I guess if
you look at the league right now, if you're a quarterback,
you're just gonna get paid. For the most part. That
started with Daniel Jones and probably before him. I mean
when you look at CJ. Stroud, like the dude picked
up on the game quick. And what I like better
than anything else is that he protected the football. It
took him so long before he threw multiple interceptions in

(24:32):
this season, and so now you're going to have a
better run game. The defense is going to be improved
because you add the Neil Hunter and some other weapons,
and then you also got some more explosive opportunities on
the outside. I mean, so that's why things vogue well
for CJ. Stroud because he already had a good grasp
of the system, was protecting the ball, and now you
get better on offense and defense.

Speaker 5 (24:52):
I'll say this, one of the beggest things that happened
for CJ was Bob Slower to not get ahead job
so this off season instead of having a new coordinator
because his went on to become a head coach, he
has the same system, same verbiage. He's understanding what Sloyd wants.
I anticipate he'll be even better Rob just because of
that alone.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
Can he absolutely? Can he?

Speaker 2 (25:15):
You, Sir Patrick Mahomes, absolutely not.

Speaker 5 (25:17):
Nobody's patching Mahomes until they win at least one championship.
And you probably have to win two to even be
in the conversation.

Speaker 13 (25:26):
No.

Speaker 8 (25:26):
Absolutely, I mean it's hard to go at Patrick Mahomes
because you look at it. I mean, I thought Mahomes
may take a step back when they lost Tyreek Kill,
and then you saw that he won a Super Bowl
without Tyreek Kill. And then you had the season last
year where all his top wide receivers just dropping the
ball consistently, couldn't depend on them. And then you get
into the season and then ay, he showed that he
had trusting those guys and just made big plays when

(25:48):
it counted. Some of those other wide receivers stepped up,
and so now you actually improved who rights to turn
into a legit wide receiver. One. Now we understand that
he got into some trouble this offseason, but you have
a sheet right had exavierl Worth if he can come
along as a rookie. I mean, you know you still
got Travis Kelsey. So I mean I think things still
bo well. Patrockhols, if he can win Super Bowls without

(26:08):
Tyreek and some of the other difficulties that he dealt
with on offense, I mean, I feel like the Chiefs
got a better shot as any to go ahead and
get that three P like Jordan's.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it. That defense
was get your okay, take take Williams is our gas.
Uh here on the couple of Fox Sports, right of course,
the former NFL dB and NFL analyst. Uh, let me
ask you about the NFC East and uh the off season,

(26:38):
did the Cowboys do anything the Giants any better?

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Washington? Where are you on that division? I mean, it
looks like it's still the Cowboys by default, I think so.

Speaker 8 (26:50):
I mean I think that you have Dak Prescott playing
in the contract. Yeah, hey, dude already produced really well.
See Lamb Steede Lamb had a breakout year from last year.
I understand that you expect them to go out and
ask them explosive weapons at the running back position. They
end up bringing Zeke back. But at the same time,
I mean, you got Cede Lamb, you got Brandon Cooks.
Ferguson really stepped up as a tight end weapon. And

(27:13):
so I feel like, as long as Dak healthy, we'll
see if he's gonna miss any time. It doesn't seem
like from the ankle for whatever he was dealing with,
that got a little bit of pressed recently, but I
feel like the Cowboys in a really great situation coming
off a little adversity after they got beat by the
Packers in the postseason. I mean, that's that kind of
few that you want to have added to your fire
and the off season out to carry through the all season,
trained to camp, and then in the beginning of the season,

(27:35):
because if they could start off hot, get a nice
little pad in that conference, then they could be doing
all right. But obviously I feel like the Eagles are
the want to bounce back as well, not really expecting
too much out of the commanders of the Giants. So
he's gonna be between the Cowboys and the Eagles.

Speaker 5 (27:48):
Jaydon Daniels's box office. The Cowboys missed the playoffs this year.

Speaker 8 (27:53):
I mean, I think Jay and James couldball, and you
will get those lepons he half on the outside with
Skary Terry and Dodson and then all these other guys.
I mean, I feel like he can really ball. But
at the same time, I mean, he's going to be
a rookie. It's gonna take him some time to get
acclimated to the system.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
Well, they got turmoil in Dallas Rob Ceedee. Lamb is
not happy he hadn't gotten paid, talking about not coming
to camp. Whispers coming out of the building from players
and personnel that Michael Parson's more interested in his podcasting
he is in.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
That's definitely an issue.

Speaker 5 (28:23):
And Dak Prescott gotta be feeling a certain kind of way.
He sees Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, all these
guys getting these big deals, and all of a sudden,
Jerry Jones is squeezing in his pockets when it comes
to him. I think they got some internal issues in Dallas.

Speaker 8 (28:39):
I mean, but Jerry Jones always trying to nickel it
down Dark Prescott. Before he got that last contract, I
was saying, like, how you going to have the most
like the wealth Iss franchise, not just in the NFL
but in the world. And at the same time, you
want to have your quarterback playing on Penny. So he
finally decided to pay Dak. Dak actually balled out last year,
and so now I felt like he was just to

(29:00):
hold on and see if you can Nicol and Dowoman,
then you have all these other teams. But Trevor Lawns
gets paid and all these other quarterbacks get paid, you
think that Dak should deserve that money. Like you obviously
look at the stats and look at where Dak has
been as far as like playoffs and all that, Like,
has he had to success that the Cowboys on it?
Absolutely not. But you can definitely look and say that
Dak Prescott has been a more successful quarterback than Trouble

(29:21):
Laws and I love Sunshine, but but but but you.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Wouldn't pause at all when you take a look at
last year the postseason what happened? And they've had a
couple of bad offensive postseason games the last couple of
years with Dak, his numbers are just not really good.
If we're going to take a look at other people
and put pauls because they don't want in a postseason,

(29:44):
how can we not look at Dak the same way?

Speaker 8 (29:47):
I mean, absolutely you have to look at Dak. But
I feel like everyone is going to be a disappointment
if you don't go out there and win that Super Bowl.
I mean, and so I feel that Dak could showed
that he could put up those record season stats. I mean,
if you can put up all the stats that you
had with Seed Lamb and some of these other guys.
You can see that if they get hot at the
right time, they have as good a chance as any
to go out there and win the Super Bowl. But
at the same time, only one team is something that

(30:08):
they could consistently go out there and get it done
on an angul basement. That's the Kansas City Chiefs. So
I understand we can slipe that back for not getting
it done in the playoffs. But you can say I
had about a lot of teams and a lot of quarterbacks,
and I feel that if a lot of these other
guys like Daniel Jones, Trevor Lawrence and all these other
quarterbacks gotten paid, there's no reason Dakson can get his
bag again as well.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Let me add one last thing here.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
I want to ask you about the Chargers, Jim Harball,
Justin Herbert and just what do you expect from them
and how quickly will Jim Harball. Of course have success
as an NFL coach, he struggled in the NFL toil.
He finally broke through the last couple of years, won
the National Championship, did the right thing and bounced.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
What do you expect from the Chargers?

Speaker 8 (30:53):
I mean, a lot of people are gonna expect them
to be conservative and kind of lean on the run
game because they got rid of all that veteran our
receivers with Mike Williams off, kan Allen gone and things
like that. But you know, I follow Harball closely when
he was at Stamp from my alma mater, and yeah,
we're known from running the ball heavywhere Toby gerhard and
then you saw how we ran the ball with Christian
McCaffrey even when Harball was gone. But that allows you

(31:14):
to set up to pass. And I feel like Justin
Herbert is one of the better throwers in the league
when he had some weapons available to him, like you
know that Lad McConkie, the young wide receiver, he's gonna
have to come all they have to get, you know,
adjusted to a new wide receiver crew. But he invested
in the offensive line in the draft that made some
changes in free agency. I think if they can establish
the run, take a little bit of pressure off Justin Herbert,
of those young wide receivers come along, then he can

(31:36):
start to mold that group to perform the way he
would like to. If it's gonna happen automatically, no, or
they're gonna be playing in a really tough division with
the Kansas City Chiefs, and you know, the Denver Broncos
ain't gonna be doing too much. At the same time,
I really like the way that the Raiders finished last season.
I think Antonio appears has this post on the name
on that team, and they have a really vibe, a
good vibe going on. So I think it's gonna be

(31:58):
competitive in the AFC. West is going to be tough
for the Charges, but I have Faithball getting teams adjusting,
that team buying into his mancha and they have some
success down the road.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
All Right, his name is Tank Williams. Tank, no doubt
about it. The former NFL dB and NFL analyst Tank.
Thank you very much, appreciate it for joining an odd
couple having all right, hey, hey, yes, indeed, all right.
Coming up next, I got a bone to pick with
the Major League Baseball All Star team selection. That's right,

(32:30):
because one guy got snubbed over another guy, and I'm
not happy about it. We'll do that and put a
nice bow on this bad boy. It is the odd couple.

Sean, let's end on a little baseball.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
You know it's near and dear to my heart and
Steve Disaga, I want you to join in this conversation
as well. I know Ellie Dala Koud you talked about it.
Sean right, exciting player.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
Right absolutely and all that.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Last year they wanted him in the All Star Game, Steve,
what did he wind up batting last year?

Speaker 2 (34:11):
Like two forty five struck out a ton.

Speaker 9 (34:13):
He's had about two fifty this year.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
And Sean, not much has changed.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
He's got more stolen bases, but they all sliding into
pizza boxes.

Speaker 9 (34:21):
But his number says, don't don't throw away forty five steals,
saying that they all would have been out because of
two inches difference.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Yes, but it's two inches on each side, Sewn, you
get me.

Speaker 9 (34:32):
He's not sliding to the other side of the base, but.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
He's getting Also, I'm talking about the lead from first base.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
I'm saying it's closer.

Speaker 9 (34:40):
I'm saying you are throwing out the baby with the
bathwater as if forty five steals so half a season
is not impressive, But that's.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
Four inches on each side the first base, Sean is
two inches closer. And how many bases would Ricky Henderson
steal if he had four more inches?

Speaker 9 (34:57):
Listen, he has more steels than anybody else last year.
He has more steals than anything.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
You're talking.

Speaker 5 (35:05):
Impacts the game at an all star level. Even when
he's not hitting. He's tremendous defensively.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
I mean he makes a lot of errors.

Speaker 5 (35:13):
He's not a great defense, he makes them spectacular he does.
I mean he's still learning at the plate how to
hit the all speed stuff. What all young guys are here.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Here's my thing, Mason Win. Have you seen him at all?
That shortstop for the Cardinals?

Speaker 4 (35:29):
All right?

Speaker 1 (35:30):
He was batting three hundred most of the year, had
an eighteen game hitting streak. Stevie's playing great defensively and
he doesn't strike.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Out a lot. He puts the ball in play. He's
done a lot of things as a rookie. And I
get it. They didn't put Ellie de la Cruz in
last year. He came up too late.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
It was too quick, and they want to get a
guy with some excitement into the All Star Game. And
I understand that I should, but I don't think I
should take away from what Mason Win has done with
the Cardinals.

Speaker 5 (36:03):
I don't think for people that follow baseball and it
is taken away from what he's done.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
I just I mean Elie de la Cruz's box office
he is who has.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
The better stats. I'm just asking you stats.

Speaker 9 (36:13):
Well, one guy's a leadoff guy, so he'll never have
some of the counting stats that someone who's not a
leadoff guy.

Speaker 4 (36:19):
Will but I will say about.

Speaker 9 (36:22):
When he's been consistently near three hundred for a couple
of months.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Right, almost all year, Sean, That's all I'm saying. Like
it ain't a flash in the pan.

Speaker 4 (36:31):
Rob's just a hater.

Speaker 5 (36:32):
We're all gonna have like a real baseball conversation, Like
I thought you were gonna say, Christian Walker deserves to
be up in arms a Brandon Nemo deserves to be
up and the.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
Guys this should be you're talking about a rookie. I
get it. But if that doesn't stop you, if you've
had a great rookie year, it could be rookie a year.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
He hadn't had a great rookie year. He's had a
great first half of a rookie year, right, And why
we should be Rice should be? Rice be an All
Star game now because he had three home runs the
other day in one game. Like I mean, come on, no,
you don't even have an argument. You don't even have
a full body of work.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
No, but you're only base it on the first half
of the season. You can't past it on anything, and
you can't paint it to what he's gonna finish up
with Listen, one thing I know about baseball.

Speaker 5 (37:12):
If you look at the start of the season, Aaron
Judge and Vladimin Guerrel had it all regresses at some
point to what they really are. So we'll see if
win can keep it up post All Star Game. Maybe
at the end of the season. You got an argument.

Speaker 9 (37:24):
But right now, can I just add that Mookie Bets
is injured, so somebody's gonna have to replace him, right,
and that's a shortstop this year, not an outfielder.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
So maybe Mason with you.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Think they'll replace him. I know Mookie made the team
be replaced, right, they can't play, don't have a right.

Speaker 5 (37:40):
Terran is deserving the kid from Milwaukee. He's been raking
if you're gonna add a middle infielder, just saying, yeah,
I don't know baseball.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
I know you know your baseball. I'm impressed. You know
what you already got that gave you a said I'm
gonna take away a demerit that I have for you.
Oh God, and now you know what you need A
