And oh what.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
A trash Talking Tuesday program we have for you. E
from Salam will join us in about twenty five minutes.
The former, of course, NFL offensive lineman Kurt Healing froma
NBAC sports who was the lead NBA writer in the
second hour and trolling and rolling with one mister Martin Weiss,
of course, of the weekend Fox Sports radio host here
(01:45):
on the network. And now let me welcome in my
partner on this trash talking Tuesday, mister Sean King.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
What's up, Sean?
Speaker 5 (01:54):
Hey man, I'm glad you showed up. I wasn't sure.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Oh yeah, right, all three.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Judges had a unanimous decision in one seventeen one eleven. So,
mister King yesterday, So kudos are you for coming back today? Uh?
Speaker 3 (02:07):
So you're telling me that it was a knockout. Is
that what you're saying?
Speaker 5 (02:10):
No, I want a knockout. But it was very convincing
United's decision. I saved the big punches for the day.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Well, you know what, I'm glad you're back because I
think you know, you did okay yesterday a little so
much so that I think some people want to be
down with the King. Now come on, I want Rob
(02:35):
g can tell you I've never done that for any
filling host. Okay, I appreciate it, Rob g Am, I
right tell them never ever, ever, ever.
Speaker 5 (02:45):
So my goal today and here's why I didn't call
it a knockout I still felt like the tenure, the
emotional attachment you have with some of the consistent calling guests, they.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Still lean to you better. Let bit.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
So my job today is to be so convincing that
everybody that calls in sides with myself.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
All right, I got it. It's great to have goals
and dreams. But the show is called The Odd Couple.
Rob Parker, Chris Broussard and Sean King is just filling in.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
All right, that's where we are.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
But man, great, great first day, and let's have some
fun today. All right, let's go here, Sean. Let's start
the day off with the the USA men's basketball team, right,
and the players all voted. Is that right, rob G?
They voted the best player is lebron James on Team USA.
(03:41):
Rob G has the details.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (03:43):
The Athletic conducted an informal poll of the fifteen camp
participants for Team USA and asked them who they thought
was the best player in their little mini camp that
they've had. By a runaway margin five votes, which five
out of fifteen is a lot lebron James.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
No one else received more than two.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
And they did Bronny get the vote on this I'm
just asking.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
Okay, he did not, And they also got on the
record comments by a couple of guys who Lebron faced
off in that Team USA scriage, the select guys. One
of them, I'm in Thompson about Lebron. I told my
brother after the first day, I was like, dude's forty
and he's the best player on the court. Jabari Smith
Junior added, I feel like Lebron's focus steps focus. People
(04:28):
have been around to this for a long time. Keeping
that focus, still, keep that hunger. That's what impressed me
the most.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Sean King, I'm here to tell you right now that
if Lebron James is the best player on Team usay
you can forget about a gold medal because that ain't
happening Lebron James. If he's your best player, there's something wrong.
There's something stinky and Denmark. If I put my finger on.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
It, I need to wash it. That's how bad it is.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
A forty year old is the best player on Team USA.
He's better than Kevin Durant, He's better than Steph Lebron James,
who can only make the playoffs through the play in
with an Anthony Davis on his squad. That's the guy
who's the best player on Team USA.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
I want Team Sweden. I'm gonna call for Team Sweden.
I'll say this in the USA. I'm out.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
The first thing I thought was okay, Lebron took the
USA Select team to dinner and he paid the tab
like it had to be something because just from a
mindset standpoint, like what is wrong with these young guys?
Like to me, these practices should be all about Jason
Tatum and Anthony Edwards. Thank you, who's about to assume
(05:44):
the mantle as the guy?
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Thank you?
Speaker 5 (05:48):
This this bothers me. This bothers me to no wheen
and not saying that Lebron's not still a great player,
but he wasn't a great player in any of the
highlights that are available to the public. He shot a
flat foot brick from three points in the highlight.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
He said, but Sean must just be can we be real?
He doesn't impact winning the way he used to. And
I'm gonna say this why, I'm gonna say why his
numbers are tremendous, but they don't win like that. And
the years gone by, if Lebron was averaging the numbers
that he's put up last year, the Lakers wouldn't be
in no play and they would be vying for the
(06:21):
division title, and they're not in those races anymore. That's
why I say it doesn't impact winning his numbers.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
I just don't get why you have a good opinion
and then you add like this wrong Parker narrative to
it that completely like dissolves your opinion of any You
can't say that impact winning.
Speaker 7 (06:39):
Come on, stop it.
Speaker 5 (06:40):
He might not be the best player in the National
Basketball Association, which he has been for the majority, he's
the best player years. I don't believe that vote. Okay,
I don't believe that vote, and I don't know. I
don't know why. I just I think this is the
one thing that's missing with some of the the Gen
Z athletes is that desire to take the manal from
(07:01):
the establishment. But I'm not I'm not willing to say
that if Bron's the best player actually that they can't
win a goal. But you would think that, you know,
there'd be some kind of changing of the guard here.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
There should be a changing of the guard.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
I mean, I got you know, with all the older
players that Team USA have, I mean, for real, Sean,
I got some inside information.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
I have the pregame meal for Team USA.
Speaker 8 (07:29):
Oh god, which is which is sodium free bacon, decaf
coffee and a chestnecks Ray. I mean, that's where we are.
That's where we are, Sean. That's what this dream team is.
It's like the Golden Girls getting back together. I mean,
come on, Sean, that the Lebron, forty year old Lebron
(07:50):
James is the best thing we have to offer. It's
like what it's like your grandfather's old Cadillac.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Is that what we're talking about.
Speaker 7 (07:58):
It looks going.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
Going to take shots at Lebron to minish who and
what Lebron is. But I do kind of have an
issue with the fact that none of the young guys
have really grabbed this thing by the horns. And let's
be honest. I mean, Kevin Durant has already heard, he's
already low managing the first game against Canada. When I
looked at the roster, that was the one thing that
was kind of alarming, because they do have multiple guys,
(08:22):
whether it be Embiid, whether it be Ad, whether it
be Kawhi, whether it be kd We did you have
a significant injury history? Do they take extras to the
Olympics in case guys go down that they can replace
them on the roster.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Or that's a good question. I don't know that's a
real team.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
I might, I really might with this team.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
To be honest, with this team, you might have to
have a wet nurse sitting there or something. You know
you don't need help easily with this team, or doctor
at least on the bench, or two of them. Because
all these guys are banged up, all of them have injury,
most of them have injury issues. I just I don't
know what they're thinking, like like this is put the
(09:02):
band back together one last run. We should have been
moved on from this, really, I mean, too many old
guys and Lebron's the best guy.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
Is that where we are?
Speaker 5 (09:16):
I don't have to criticize Lebron' to this.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
That's like saying that's like saying that the best TV show.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
It was surprising. It was a very surprising, especially after
Anthony Edwards came out and said this was his squaes.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
I thought he said he was the first option.
Speaker 7 (09:30):
I mean, did he get any votes.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
Rob g Did Anthony Edwards get any vote? Did he
get a vote from himself. I hope at least one
he got two votes. I got two, all right, him
and whoever else is represented by his agent.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Those two, I could.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
It was stuff being voted in it. But I do
feel like, come on, guys, that Stephan a big shot,
supposed to be the guy that's telling everybody what the
nice restaurants are, like, you know, like what sits? You
want to come on? Cause he's been a couple ofics.
But I mean, yeah, I'm with you.
Speaker 9 (10:02):
Rob.
Speaker 5 (10:03):
I just still think you take things and you push
the car all the way off the edge of the cliff.
But it doesn't have to Every accident doesn't have to
be fatal. But you just sent me Lebron's great shout
out to Lebron. But it is alarming that none of
the young guys have imposed their will enough to get
the consensus that it's time for Bron to maybe move
(10:25):
to the side and somebody else. Can I come the
face of it?
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Can I give you some I'm gonna give him help
you out with the He doesn't impact winning the same way.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Okay, he just doesn't.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Since the bubble the Mickey Mouse Championship in twenty twenty.
It counts, but it still was in Orlando. That's why
I called the Mickey Mouse Championship. The Lakers have a
winning percentage of five eighteen, just over five hundred. Okay,
they have been in the play in They've been a
playing team three times and missed the playoffs outright the
other time. Okay, that is what you're calling the best
(10:56):
player who has to have the play in. Imagine them,
Imagine they're being no playing Where Lebron's tenure would be
with the Lakers, which is probably right, one or two
playoff appearances in that Bubble championship, and then you'd have
four miss playoffs. That's incredible for six years. Incredible.
Speaker 7 (11:19):
I'm speechless. There you go.
Speaker 5 (11:22):
It has to be more to this than we know,
Like Lebron had to pull it back to the side.
Listen Vegas has already got awarded the NBA franchise down
the road. I'm gonna be in the shop with that.
I'm just saying, it's gotta be like some contingent contingency.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
You live in Las Vegas, Okay, with all the money
and the big munkety MUCKs there, you think they're gonna
let Seriously, a former player grabbed that franchise in Las Vegas.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
Yeah, I don't know if he'll be like the ad,
but he'll be a part of the group.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Dude, you're not gonna get in Las Vegas. You know what.
The kind of money that those guys have and those casinos.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
I mean, we're talking about Bron.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Now, he ain't got the conceit on money. I'll tell
you that. Don't kid you.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
Telling it ain't doesn't hurt that half him as part
of the group.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
I'm just talking about. He ain't gonna be the main guy.
Speaker 5 (12:09):
Obviously, he's very convincing. He just convinced eleven of the
best alleged players in the world to vote him as
the best of the group. So obviously he still has
a lot of power.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
All Right, I don't know about you.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
Get out to Jereditol when you watch the Team USA,
it's such a you know what, And then you might
need a cup of coffee in a sweet role to
wash this down, because I'm not expecting anything good if
Lebron James.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
I'm not going to allow you to diminish who this
man is. I'm just telling you Lebron's current form that
says old. If you didn't know he had played twenty
two years and what his actual age was. I think
he's coming up on forty. You wouldn't even use old
as any part of the narrative.
Speaker 10 (12:49):
He's oh, no.
Speaker 5 (12:52):
Yeah, because he's been there a long time, not because
of how he's playing, all right?
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox?
Speaker 4 (12:58):
Is it a bad sign that Lebron has been voted
as the best player on Team USA? Eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six
sixty three sixty nine. We'll continue conversation next with you.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
Yeah, it is the odd couple on a trash talking Tuesday.
Don't forget your chance to trash anyone anything in the
world of sports. We'll do that in the second hour.
You'll have thirty or forty seconds to do that. We
will not interrupt you. It is Rob Parker and former
NFL quarterback Sean King. That's right, you're down with the King.
(14:42):
Com into your live from the tire Rack dot Com studios.
I'll telephone number eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
And somehow, some way, Team USA is saying Lebron James
at age forty, is the best player on the team.
Wellsy wow woo woo, I'm not with it, Sean, I
know people wanted That's right, people want to chime in.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
Hey, man, the phone lines are blowing up, people that
won't agree with me that you take an opinion and
just create a narrative. Delusional. All right, let's start with
Let's start with Julian Michigan. You're on the odd couple.
What you got, big DK?
Speaker 12 (15:20):
That's going on, Rober Sean, what's up, Jordan?
Speaker 3 (15:23):
How are you?
Speaker 12 (15:24):
I'm doing good, man, rob Like somebody give you a
run for your money. Man, you got a worthy opponent now, huh.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Hey, you know I'm not like Chris. I'm not bringing
in cupcakes.
Speaker 12 (15:32):
Okay, you know, usually just Ethral. So what I think, Well,
him and Ethral need to do a show together. Oh wow,
Sean Real called to protect the past because I know
somebody got their own radio station and they can use them.
You know what I'm saying. I'm just saying, you're just saying. Hey,
and speaking of that too, man. I told Chris when
you was gone. Man, thanks for putting Terry Foster back
(15:54):
on the radio.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
Bro, no dude in the years, man, no no problem,
Thank you, and were affiliate, of course with Sports Rap
Radio in Detroit, where are the eye couple's on there?
Speaker 12 (16:04):
That's right, put it out there. But uh, I kind
of got agree with Rob on this one. Man. We're
not playing local bakers and sheep herders no more. And
if Lebron your best player many who're too old? Is man?
I thought that lineup was when they announced and I said,
this is too old. Five to six them don't play
defense no more, none at all?
Speaker 10 (16:22):
Right, they used to.
Speaker 12 (16:23):
So I think it's aprib. I think it's gonna be
a problem.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
I'm up. I'm with you, dra Thanks for calling.
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Thanks for the call. You're in Florida, you're on the
odd couple. What you got.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Peter? Hey, how you guys doing doing great? What's up? Buddy?
Speaker 13 (16:38):
First thing, team sketch. But the second thing is this
is Lebron's last act. He ain't gonna win the championship.
He may even not even make the play in for
the further NBA playoffs.
Speaker 12 (16:51):
This is it.
Speaker 13 (16:52):
He's gonna go all out to like to try to
solidify himself, and I don't think it works.
Speaker 12 (16:59):
But this is a to me.
Speaker 13 (17:00):
This is the only thing I can say. This is
his last act to try to do win over everyone,
and it's not gonna happen.
Speaker 5 (17:07):
So this is sympathy appointment.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Thank you appreciate the call. Eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. All I know is when I buy Last
Act clothes, that means it's seventy five percent off, because
usually means that somebody already tried it on with Jodie underwear.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
I'm just saying, Oh, let's.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
Go back to the phone lines, Rob Tim in the
Inland Empire, you're on the odd couple? What you got?
Speaker 3 (17:30):
What's up? Tim? How are you doing good?
Speaker 9 (17:33):
Doing good? Let's just say the United States stop cop
with the seniority, or just I don't get it all right,
So let's see, he's going to be the best player
in the team, right, would the opponent love for him
to pick the lash out of a tight game? Would
they be him take the lash out of the of
(17:54):
a tight game of the championship game, because that's what
you want from your best player.
Speaker 10 (17:57):
Right.
Speaker 9 (17:58):
Who's who's gasping for him to take that last shot,
not pass it, not making the great basketball player exactly?
They take the last shot, that's when you're the best player.
But it's like somebody just can't disrespect him, like he
can't sit down and let someone else be at top
of him. It's just like it's the craziest thing, like
these guys need to That's why I like Edwards. He said,
(18:18):
thumb the number one option. I guess he voted for
Lebron too because of peer pressure.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
So ridiculous, No doubt appreciate the call. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox is our number
in Miami.
Speaker 5 (18:31):
You're on the odd couple. What you got?
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Hey?
Speaker 10 (18:34):
What's going on?
Speaker 7 (18:34):
Guys, Tony?
Speaker 3 (18:36):
How are you good?
Speaker 14 (18:37):
Still delivering your free press?
Speaker 10 (18:39):
Rob?
Speaker 14 (18:39):
Down here trying to find a home for newspaper lovers?
Speaker 4 (18:43):
All right, I'm sure down there in Miami with all
the golden girls and guys, they still want the paper,
don't they.
Speaker 14 (18:49):
Well, yeah, they're selling it right outside Club eleven downtown. No, listen,
we gotta stop. I'm gonna just thank you, Chris Paul Tooth.
Was it two or three years ago? I want to
make you clear him winning that Let's say they would
have won that.
Speaker 10 (19:07):
Year with Phoenix.
Speaker 14 (19:07):
That wasn't him winning a championship as in Steph Curry
and Isaiah Thomas doing it. That was him at the
tail end. We got to stop these conversations. This Lebron
conversation really ended where when we're judging him.
Speaker 10 (19:22):
At his best, it was.
Speaker 14 (19:23):
Really the last year in Cleveland, seventeen eighteen, and his
window of greatness was pretty long, about seven to about
seventeen eighteen. This stuff is reminds me of like that
cute girl on Instagram ten years ago, just jacking her
face up with all kinds of fillers and you know,
(19:44):
the plastic and still trying to hold on for dear life.
Speaker 10 (19:48):
So people are watching her.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
To me, listen, you can't tell me a player that
is aided more gracefully actually on the court than Lebron James. Like,
forget how many years he's played, forget his age, just
go by his representation of the game of basketball. When
he plays name made player who's aged.
Speaker 10 (20:08):
Better, he's not. You gotta be more definitive when you
say aged.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
When you watch him play Tony, he still looks like
one of the top ten twelve players.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
But the leam doesn't win like that. That's the problem.
Speaker 14 (20:22):
He's not winning, Sean, And I'm glad I'm able to
say this with Chris gone, because I'm not a man
for Carter's agent payroll.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
Oh there we go.
Speaker 5 (20:33):
Oh man, here we go, Here we go. Conspiracy theories abound.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
Can we squeeze one more? And we don't have no
no time? Okay, no sweat? All right, We've got the
former NFL offensive lineman E from Salaam. He's coming up
next here on The Odd Couple, But.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
First be sure to catch live editions of The Odd
Couple with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven
pm Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the iHeartRadio app What is.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
The Odd Couple?
Speaker 4 (21:00):
On the Trash Talking Tuesday, Rob Parker and the King
Sean King in for Chris Bruchard will be back tomorrow
coming to your live from the tyrack dot Com studios.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
And our next guest, Yes, has his own theme music.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
He from salam Or of course, former NFL offensive lineman
and of course a Fox Sports Radio weekend host. You
can get them on Twitter or ex at E from
Salam He from What's Up?
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Say hey to SEW doing good? How are you?
Speaker 10 (21:28):
I'm good? Hey?
Speaker 3 (21:29):
Can we start with basketball real quick?
Speaker 4 (21:31):
And Team USA and the players voted and they say
Lebron is the best player on the team at forty
years old.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Is that a good sign or a bad sign?
Speaker 10 (21:42):
Uh? In terms of leadership, I would say it's a
good sign. We know what a young USA team looks
like when it's going against the world. We don't like it.
So just to have that veteran presence to really settle
the ship and keep people locked in, similar to the
Redeemed team when Kobe had to come and save us
(22:04):
from the last outing, when we sent a bunch of
young bulls out into the world and they got demolished.
So for me, I'm okay with that.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
Right, the best player, you think he's the best player
on the team, I'm not talking about a leadership.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Is he the best player a forty year old?
Speaker 10 (22:19):
Ok No, No, But it's just not about athleticism. It's
not about that. It's about that. It is about the leadership.
It is about uh, you know, to some most guys,
most pros equate leadership, you know, with being being the best.
That's just how it goes and a big.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
Here's my only issue. It doesn't seem like Anthony Edwards
and Jason Tatum like it's not a priority for them.
They don't seem like they showed up in practice like
Jordan did. On a dream team, like to prove the
magic and I'm the guy now, So I mean outside
of maybe Steph Curry, who else could it have been?
Speaker 10 (22:59):
You're at will be right, Like it's just a different
era in basketball, So I would I mean it would.
It would have shocked me if they would have voted
somebody else that on the team. I just think, you know,
just going back and watching old clips of some of
the greatest players to ever play, especially everybody on that
(23:22):
that dream team. Jordan went in there for a reason
to let everybody know, Okay, magic Bird, Tarls, you guys
have been great. Uh, move out the way. It's the
changing of the guard. And I just don't think the
younger players have that mentality. We saw it maybe in
spirts with Anthony Edwards during the playoffs, but he fizzled out.
(23:42):
He did he couldn't carry that same energy throughout the
rest of the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
Hey, let's get to the NFL couple questions. Dak Prescott
A we could go walking around in a walking boot.
You know, he downplayed the injury, not a big deal,
but how does this play out for him? Doesn't have
a contract. The last I'm Jerry Waded it cost him
sixty million dollars for Dak Prescott, the Cowboys doing the
right thing.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Jerry always caves. He's a pushover.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
I called him push over paid because he always caves
and winds up paying people.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
What is the hold up here?
Speaker 10 (24:16):
Look, this is the best thing for Dak Prescott. He's
on a proved deal. He looks if he goes in
and they get to the NFC Championship game, he's gonna
get paid. If they don't, he won't be with the Cowboys,
but he's still gonna get paid. That quote that he wants,
someone's going to give it to him. So this is
(24:38):
a win win for him outside of getting hurt. And
you got to even remember when he got hurt last time,
Jerry still broke the bank he did to pay him.
So like at this point, he's playing with house money.
He doesn't really care. Of course, he would want to
have a long term deal and locked in that guarantee money.
But he knows right now if he goes if he
(25:01):
if he duplicated the exact same year he had last year,
then he would be a sixty million dollars a year quarter.
Speaker 7 (25:09):
Really, even with.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
The playoff performance, I mean that My issue is maybe not.
Speaker 10 (25:15):
Maybe not at Dallas, but someone will definitely pay him
whatever that quote is, whatever that rate is for a starting.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Quarter I can't I can't see.
Speaker 5 (25:24):
I think people are missing a real issue. And just
because everybody else is acting dumb and stupid doesn't mean
we have to as well. And I think this applies
to the Miami Dolphins and the Dallas Cowboys. Just because
Jacksonville is willing to pay Trevor Lawrence based on what
Joe Burrow or Justin Herbert got, Miami saying we're not
paying two of that. You know what looks like Jerry
Jones is saying, I gotta make some decisions. And I
(25:46):
know Ceedee Lamb is one of the top five running
back i mean receivers in football. I gotta pay him.
I know Michael Parsons is one of the most impactful
defenders in football.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
A podcaster, I'm not sure.
Speaker 5 (25:59):
That Dak Prescott is on the same level as what
the market says starting quarterbacks should get. And listen, I
don't I want everybody to get their back, biggie, but man,
this quarterback market is ridiculous.
Speaker 10 (26:10):
Yeah, I get you, I understand, and you may be
exactly right for Dallas Cowboys. But there is a team
out there who is willing to pay that press.
Speaker 7 (26:21):
Absolutely that amount of money.
Speaker 10 (26:23):
And that's the point. Well, you're going to get You're
you as good, You're as good as a team wants
to pay you.
Speaker 5 (26:30):
We were talking about Dallas, We were why hasn't Why
hasn't Dallas extended that?
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Only because it only.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
Cost you more the longer you wait, and you have
to at some point. And my my point is, and
this is why the quarterbacks have the teams over a ball.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
You know this, Sean, you know this.
Speaker 4 (26:49):
If you don't have a quarterback, you're out on anything
in the NFL.
Speaker 9 (26:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
The flip side of that coin is if I overpay
that position for a player that's not worth that amount
of money, it really handicaps me on being able to
put a team around.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
It didn't handicapped the Los Angeles Rams.
Speaker 5 (27:08):
They won a Super Bowl. And old Stafford's a big
he's a real deal.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
What are you talking about that?
Speaker 4 (27:13):
Matthew Stafford came to Los Angeles with no playoffs.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
You win some some alo vere on them, Detroit.
Speaker 9 (27:20):
No.
Speaker 5 (27:23):
Matthew three most talented in the world.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Most of his stats have come with the lines and
then been down twenty one nothing and thrown in front
of the defense. I watched everything I started.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
I watched every single in the Cincinnati Bengals. My point
is that at some point they did it Ephraim.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
They paid Matthew Stafford. They won a Super Bowl and
teams are just trying to win.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
Matthew Stafford, so good, biggie, he got he He had
a group of guys named Pooka Nakop and Karen Williams
who he never even heard of. Really, I'm making another playoff.
Run the Rams team that I'm completely changed, and turn
over the Ross Street.
Speaker 10 (28:04):
I was in Detroit when they drafted Matthew. I'm a fan.
I hate that he had to waste twelve years in
Detroit getting it.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
He wasted twelve years with Calvin Johnson and the Dominican suit.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Come on.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
Look, statistically, he was tremendous.
Speaker 10 (28:19):
First had knowledge of how the organization was run. This
is what I'm talking about. The first I have first
had knowledge on how the organization came from us.
Speaker 15 (28:28):
You were there for one year. I was there for
twenty years. You would have for one year.
Speaker 10 (28:33):
But were you ever inside the organization?
Speaker 9 (28:36):
How were the.
Speaker 15 (28:36):
Upstairs in the in the office area, maybe team in
the office area.
Speaker 10 (28:45):
All I know is ownership and coaches that were not
on the same page when I was there, and it
was blatant decisions were being made without coaches even knowing.
And if that was the history of what was going on,
I understand staying why they struggled so long.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
You would not be having the same conversation if that
forty nine Ers dB didn't drop that interception that would
have sealed the game for.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
The forty nine ers.
Speaker 7 (29:11):
But he threw the pick right on.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
He threw the pick right on Q and everybody knows
that you could throw that ten times sewing and that
ball would have been caught ten out of it.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
But you forgetting the big time drive that he made
to put to give the Rams the lead in the
fourth quarter against the Bengals in the Super Bowl, Like,
why are you trying to diminish our tellented Matthew Stafford
as roll.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
And Okay, so he threw the game when he touched
down and he didn't and he didn't win, and he
didn't win the MVP.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
Why was that?
Speaker 5 (29:38):
I'm discouted because he had a couple of picks in
that game. I thought you had healed. I thought you
had overcome like all of that that and suffering. You
need help, professional help, Rob. Look, Rob is you know,
in constant need of hugs. So anybody out.
Speaker 10 (29:57):
There around Rob when the show's tho, but please give
him a hug. He needs it. We all need hugs sometimes.
I get it, and that's why we love you. Rob.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
There you go, my man from Salaswa. I appreciate you,
appreciate you all the time. Thank you, buddy, absolute no doubt, Yes, sir.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Coming up next, All right, Jason Tatum is in for
a rude awake.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
And I'll explain to you that.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
Next it is The Odd Couple right here on Fox

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parkers
Day Dicks against the sprat.
Speaker 10 (31:36):
All.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
Right, here we go with some Major League baseball.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
Let's start with the Texas Rangers at the Anaho, I
mean at the Los Angeles Angels. Texas Rangers minus one
and a half runs taking on the Angels.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
There we go.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
That's our best bet tonight. Also have Seattle minus one
and a half. They're in San Diego taking on the Padres.
They finally moved over a five hundred forty nine and
forty five. They have been stuck at like five hundred
for the most part. But I'm gonna take Seattle minus
one and a half runs and then the last game
I got here, I'm gonna take Arizona plus one and
a half runs they host the Brays in the Desert again,
(32:14):
Arizona Diamondbacks plus one and a half runs. I got
the Seattle minus one and a half against the Padres
and the Texas Rangers minus one and a half runs
against the Angels. And remember, I'm not telling you who
to bet on. I'm telling you who I bet on.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
Did I knew that? Thank you so much?
Speaker 5 (32:34):
Faith in Chris Sale, huh.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
Well, you can't win them all.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
He's been great, you know what I mean, like seriously,
like he's been out States All Star.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
He's been great.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
But sometimes you know, if it was that obvious showing,
everybody would run the Las Vegas and put money down.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
Am I right?
Speaker 5 (32:49):
You're true?
Speaker 3 (32:50):
That's the thing.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Some games look like, oh Chris say, oh this is
a piece of cake, let me load up.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
And then he has a bad outing.
Speaker 4 (32:57):
Crazy all right, let's go here, rob G, Jason Tatum,
he told people, Rob G, can you explain what he
said about when people criticize him? Now, you know, he's
got his fair share of criticism, and most of it
was warranted. He finally won a championship with Rob G
(33:18):
He's got a message for people.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Yeah, I wish we had sound of it.
Speaker 6 (33:21):
But he was speaking to reporters after the Team USA
practice and he was asked if he thought that after
winning his first championship, becoming now the highest paid player
in NBA history, if there would be some kind of
weight lifted off his shoulders, and his answer was one
hundred percent. Just being the topic of discussion of so
many debates or whatever it is. He said, like Canny
(33:42):
lead a team, is he a top five player? There's
still a lot of things. I guess they can debate,
but now I've done something that they can't debate. I
got a championship, have.
Speaker 5 (33:51):
That under my belt.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Obviously, the conversation to be had or whatever we want
to say.
Speaker 6 (33:55):
But from now on they always got to refer to
me as an NBA champion.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
And Jason Tatum, I got news for you, man. Let
that Let that stuff go for real. Let that go Sean,
because they're going to it doesn't matter. Kevin Durant won
two championships with the Golden State Warriors, won finals MVP twice,
and people don't even want to count his championships all
(34:22):
the way. There's always gonna be something up for debate.
Everybody's not going to be on board. They'll be able
to point the tatum that he hasn't won an MVP.
They'll point to that he didn't win the finals MVP
right it was Jalen Brown. People, if they want to
find and pick at your career, Sean, they can do it.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
I would say this, don't worry about it.
Speaker 5 (34:44):
I would say this, though. I thought there's a lot
of maturity in his response.
Speaker 10 (34:49):
Rob.
Speaker 5 (34:50):
This isn't Kevin Durant with a burner account on Twitter.
They're going at people how you like me?
Speaker 10 (34:55):
Now?
Speaker 5 (34:55):
Like he was asked a direct question, and I thought
he answered it very maturely. He's twenty six, it's been
the five NBA All Star Games, he's been the two
NBA Finals, he's won one. He checked off a significant box.
Now it's time to continually and gradually keep going up
till he gets to the top of Mount Rushmore of
NBA history.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
Anthony Davis won a championship two and they still get
on Anthony Davis because he ain't the player that people
think he should be. Am I right or wrong on that.
This is my point is that they can find something
on you.
Speaker 5 (35:26):
They can, But I mean, he was asked a question.
I don't have a problem with the athlete answering that
direct question.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
You don't have to answer the question.
Speaker 4 (35:33):
You know that. I'm a reporter. I'll tell you that
you don't have to always respond to everything.
Speaker 7 (35:38):
You don't.
Speaker 5 (35:38):
But I don't have a problem with you answering it.
I have a problem with you going on different accounts
and defending yourself. I hear you the third parties.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
Well that's weak, and that's why I call Kevin durantam
Issaul the most sensitive of all time.
Speaker 5 (35:52):
I would agree with that because I don't agree with
you often, but I would agree with that about it.
Lebron's a close second, you.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
Know, right, They're just so sensitive. I just can't get over.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
I'm like, dude, nobody would be able to tell me
anything if I had accomplished as much was making that
kind of paper, You know what I mean? Like, well, okay, yeah,
you're not on board. Okay, everybody can't be on board.
Speaker 5 (36:13):
Sometimes criticism is full of embellishment, but a lot of
times there's honesty and criticism that can help you actually
be a better version of yourself.
Speaker 4 (36:21):
Some people still like Jim Rome, I'm happy for you.
That's where you want to go. That would you want
to spend your three hours four hours? Okay, that's cool.
Speaker 5 (36:29):
Look at you taking shot?
Speaker 4 (36:31):
What shots fired? No, I just I wish Jason Tatum
would just you know, like you don't have to worry.
But so what everybody, everybody's not gonna like see.
Speaker 5 (36:39):
I wish he was more braggadocious. I wish he was
more of an alpha male. I wish he was at
USA practices trying to convince everybody that is not Lebron anymore.
It's me, it's my time. Like so, so I.
Speaker 7 (36:53):
Want more of him.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
Okay, I just don't think that's his personality. So you
can hope and wish for that, but.
Speaker 5 (37:02):
I can't have it both ways, right, I just don't
think that that's the person outside the team for voting
Lebron is the best player. And then on the other side,
you know, say you want Jason Tatum to be more passive,
like we need more aggressive.
Speaker 4 (37:14):
No, I'm not saying I want them to be more passive.
I'm just saying, like there's people's makeup.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
Or you aren't right.
Speaker 4 (37:22):
I'm just saying I don't expect him to be that
that guy like that, that's all because it's.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
Not in his DNA, which is fine, Sean.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
You know, when I go into a restaurant, I'm gonna
make a scene if everything's not right.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
That's just who I am.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
And see I'm not I'm just not coming back.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
See, I'm gonna let them know that they did me wrong.
Speaker 5 (37:41):
I might hit off the Yelp comments, but I'm not
gonna do it in person.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
I'm gonna do it in person.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
I'm gonna pull a KD. I'm gonna hide behind technology.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
You know how many times I had to go in
a place and say, now, you don't want me to
act black in here?
Speaker 10 (37:53):
Do you?
Speaker 3 (37:53):
Is that it?
Speaker 10 (37:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (37:55):
We gotta do we ever go to dinner, I'm get
offsite table till the food gets there and I come
join you.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
All right, that's just a joke, all right?
Speaker 4 (38:03):
Coming up our number two of the odd couple, and
we're gonna be talking about Bronnie and Tim Tebow.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
How about that stick instead?
Speaker 7 (38:10):
That's gotta be racist.
