They voted the best player is lebron James on Team USA.

The Athletic conducted an informal poll of the fifteen camp
participants for Team USA and asked them who they thought
was the best player in their little mini camp that
they've had. By a runaway margin five votes, which five
out of fifteen is a lot lebron James.

No one else received more than two.

And they did Bronny get the vote on this I'm
just asking.

Okay, he did not, And they also got on the
record comments by a couple of guys who Lebron faced
off in that Team USA scriage, the select guys. One
of them, I'm in Thompson about Lebron. I told my
brother after the first day, I was like, dude's forty
and he's the best player on the court. Jabari Smith
Junior added, I feel like Lebron's focus steps focus. People

have been around to this for a long time. Keeping
that focus, still, keep that hunger. That's what impressed me
the most.

Sean King, I'm here to tell you right now that
if Lebron James is the best player on Team usay
you can forget about a gold medal because that ain't
happening Lebron James. If he's your best player, there's something wrong.
There's something stinky and Denmark. If I put my finger on.

Like to me, these practices should be all about Jason

This this bothers me. This bothers me to no wheen
and not saying that Lebron's not still a great player,
but he wasn't a great player in any of the
highlights that are available to the public. He shot a

He doesn't impact winning the way he used to. And
I'm gonna say this why, I'm gonna say why his
numbers are tremendous, but they don't win like that. And
the years gone by, if Lebron was averaging the numbers
that he's put up last year, the Lakers wouldn't be
in no play and they would be vying for the

division title, and they're not in those races anymore. That's
why I say it doesn't impact winning his numbers.

issue with the fact that none of the young guys
have really grabbed this thing by the horns. And let's
be honest. I mean, Kevin Durant has already heard, he's
already low managing the first game against Canada. When I
looked at the roster, that was the one thing that
was kind of alarming, because they do have multiple guys,

whether it be Embiid, whether it be Ad, whether it
be Kawhi, whether it be kd We did you have
a significant injury history? Do they take extras to the
Olympics in case guys go down that they can replace
them on the roster.

Or that's a good question. I don't know that's a
real team.

I might, I really might with this team.

To be honest, with this team, you might have to
have a wet nurse sitting there or something. You know
you don't need help easily with this team, or doctor
at least on the bench, or two of them. Because
all these guys are banged up, all of them have injury,
most of them have injury issues. I just I don't
know what they're thinking, like like this is put the

band back together one last run. We should have been
moved on from this, really, I mean, too many old
guys and Lebron's the best guy.

like when it's going against the world. We don't like it.
So just to have that veteran presence to really settle
the ship and keep people locked in, similar to the
Redeemed team when Kobe had to come and save us

young bulls out into the world and they got demolished.
So for me, I'm okay with that.

Ok No, No, But it's just not about athleticism. It's

most pros equate leadership, you know, with being being the best.

Here's my only issue. It doesn't seem like Anthony Edwards
and Jason Tatum like it's not a priority for them.
They don't seem like they showed up in practice like
Jordan did. On a dream team, like to prove the
magic and I'm the guy now, So I mean outside
of maybe Steph Curry, who else could it have been?

It would have shocked me if they would have voted

changing of the guard. And I just don't think the
younger players have that mentality. We saw it maybe in
spirts with Anthony Edwards during the playoffs, but he fizzled out.

a win win for him outside of getting hurt. And
you got to even remember when he got hurt last time,
Jerry still broke the bank he did to pay him.
So like at this point, he's playing with house money.
He doesn't really care. Of course, he would want to
have a long term deal and locked in that guarantee money.

if he duplicated the exact same year he had last year,
then he would be a sixty million dollars a year quarter.

I know Michael Parsons is one of the most impactful

The Athletic conducted an informal poll of the fifteen camp
participants for Team USA and asked them who they thought
was the best player in their little mini camp that
they've had. By a runaway margin five votes, which five

And they did Bronny get the vote on this I'm
just asking.

Okay, he did not, And they also got on the
record comments by a couple of guys who Lebron faced
off in that Team USA scriage, the select guys. One
of them, I'm in Thompson about Lebron. I told my
brother after the first day, I was like, dude's forty
and he's the best player on the court. Jabari Smith
Junior added, I feel like Lebron's focus steps focus. People

have been around to this for a long time. Keeping
that focus, still, keep that hunger. That's what impressed me
the most.

Sean King, I'm here to tell you right now that
if Lebron James is the best player on Team usay
you can forget about a gold medal because that ain't
happening Lebron James. If he's your best player, there's something wrong.
There's something stinky and Denmark. If I put my finger on.

and not saying that Lebron's not still a great player,

He doesn't impact winning the way he used to. And
I'm gonna say this why, I'm gonna say why his
numbers are tremendous, but they don't win like that. And
the years gone by, if Lebron was averaging the numbers
that he's put up last year, the Lakers wouldn't be
in no play and they would be vying for the

division title, and they're not in those races anymore. That's
why I say it doesn't impact winning his numbers.

I just don't get why you have a good opinion
and then you add like this wrong Parker narrative to
it that completely like dissolves your opinion of any You

issue with the fact that none of the young guys
have really grabbed this thing by the horns. And let's
be honest. I mean, Kevin Durant has already heard, he's
already low managing the first game against Canada. When I
looked at the roster, that was the one thing that
was kind of alarming, because they do have multiple guys,

whether it be Embiid, whether it be Ad, whether it
be Kawhi, whether it be kd We did you have
a significant injury history? Do they take extras to the
Olympics in case guys go down that they can replace
them on the roster.

Or that's a good question. I don't know that's a
real team.

I might, I really might with this team.

To be honest, with this team, you might have to
have a wet nurse sitting there or something. You know
you don't need help easily with this team, or doctor
at least on the bench, or two of them. Because
all these guys are banged up, all of them have injury,
most of them have injury issues. I just I don't
know what they're thinking, like like this is put the

band back together one last run. We should have been
moved on from this, really, I mean, too many old

young bulls out into the world and they got demolished.
So for me, I'm okay with that.

and Jason Tatum like it's not a priority for them.

changing of the guard. And I just don't think the
younger players have that mentality. We saw it maybe in
spirts with Anthony Edwards during the playoffs, but he fizzled out.

rest of the playoffs.

get paid. If they don't, he won't be with the Cowboys,
but he's still gonna get paid. That quote that he wants,
someone's going to give it to him. So this is

a win win for him outside of getting hurt. And
you got to even remember when he got hurt last time,
Jerry still broke the bank he did to pay him.
So like at this point, he's playing with house money.
He doesn't really care. Of course, he would want to
have a long term deal and locked in that guarantee money.
But he knows right now if he goes if he

if he duplicated the exact same year he had last year,
then he would be a sixty million dollars a year quarter.

Joe Burrow or Justin Herbert got, Miami saying we're not
paying two of that. You know what looks like Jerry
Jones is saying, I gotta make some decisions. And I

know Ceedee Lamb is one of the top five running
back i mean receivers in football. I gotta pay him.
I know Michael Parsons is one of the most impactful
defenders in football.

But he was speaking to reporters after the Team USA
practice and he was asked if he thought that after
winning his first championship, becoming now the highest paid player
in NBA history, if there would be some kind of
weight lifted off his shoulders, and his answer was one
hundred percent. Just being the topic of discussion of so
many debates or whatever it is. He said, like Canny

lead a team, is he a top five player? There's
still a lot of things. I guess they can debate,
but now I've done something that they can't debate. I
got a championship, have.
Speaker 5 (33:51):
That under my belt.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Obviously, the conversation to be had or whatever we want
to say.
Speaker 6 (33:55):
But from now on they always got to refer to
me as an NBA champion.

And Jason Tatum, I got news for you, man. Let
that Let that stuff go for real. Let that go Sean,
because they're going to it doesn't matter. Kevin Durant won
two championships with the Golden State Warriors, won finals MVP twice,
and people don't even want to count his championships all

the way. There's always gonna be something up for debate.
Everybody's not going to be on board. They'll be able
to point the tatum that he hasn't won an MVP.
They'll point to that he didn't win the finals MVP
right it was Jalen Brown. People, if they want to
find and pick at your career, Sean, they can do it.

I would say this, though. I thought there's a lot
of maturity in his response.

Like he was asked a direct question, and I thought
he answered it very maturely. He's twenty six, it's been
the five NBA All Star Games, he's been the two
NBA Finals, he's won one. He checked off a significant box.
Now it's time to continually and gradually keep going up
till he gets to the top of Mount Rushmore of
NBA history.

Anthony Davis won a championship two and they still get
on Anthony Davis because he ain't the player that people
think he should be. Am I right or wrong on that.
This is my point is that they can find something
on you.
Speaker 5 (35:26):
They can, But I mean, he was asked a question.
I don't have a problem with the athlete answering that
direct question.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
You don't have to answer the question.

I have a problem with you going on different accounts

I would agree with that because I don't agree with
you often, but I would agree with that about it.
Lebron's a close second, you.

Know, right, They're just so sensitive. I just can't get over.

I'm like, dude, nobody would be able to tell me
anything if I had accomplished as much was making that
kind of paper, You know what I mean? Like, well, okay, yeah,

Sometimes criticism is full of embellishment, but a lot of
times there's honesty and criticism that can help you actually
be a better version of yourself.

That's where you want to go. That would you want

can hope and wish for that, but.

I can't have it both ways, right, I just don't
think that that's the person outside the team for voting
Lebron is the best player. And then on the other side,
you know, say you want Jason Tatum to be more passive,
like we need more aggressive.

I'm just saying, like there's people's makeup.
