Speaker 1 (01:01):
Gamble of mlbbro dot Com coming up at the bottom
of the hour.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
You do not want to miss this.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Let me ask you this, Robers, we go back to
Team USA. We're gonna try to go ahead and defend
our gold medal in the Olympics this year.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
We're sending all the big guns.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Are you excited about the game tonight, Team USA versus Canada.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
It's at seven thirty Pacific, ten thirty Eastern. We fs one.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Oh no you're not. I'm not saying I'm not gonna
watch it, but I'll have it on. But I'm not like,
oh my god, I gotta see this. No, I'm hyped
the bad are you.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
While you hyped?

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Because I think it's a great test. And look I
said I've said before. We are the favorites, as we
should be. We should be heavy favorites, But I don't
think we're a lock and rob ger. We're number one
in the world. Canada's number two, right, and Canada's tracked right.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
So Canada has.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Some of the best players in the world and shay Gilgess,
Alexander and Jamal Murray and they've they're built like a team.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
We talked earlier about Derek White.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Being added to the Team USA as a role player.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Well they've got those.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
They've got the stars, and they've got the bigs, and
they've got the shooters, and they've got the defenders. They've
got the guys that know and understand their roles. So
I I'm excited to see how we do I'm assuming
we'll win, but win or lose, it's gonna be a
good game too, just because both teams have obviously such

(02:49):
great players. So I am excited about it. I will
be watching that once we get off the air.

Speaker 5 (02:55):
Ten thirty Eastern on FS one. There you Go, There
you go.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
But Ron Kevin Durant was talking. He was on the
Logan Paul's podcast called Impulsive like Impulsive Impulsive, and he
was asked who was the Big three in the NBA. Now,
I wonder if Logan Paul asked the question. I don't
know who did ask it, but if it was Logan Paul,

(03:22):
did he really it was his called? Did they know
what they were talking about? They say, who's the Big
three in the NBA? Roger the sound here happens, Big three?

Speaker 6 (03:32):
Yeah, then the sound of the League. I believe you'll
hear the question in the sound here. However, full full
context in the conversation. It's Logan Paul, his co host,
and a social media influencer by the name of Speed
or something like that, and they're talking to the influencer
and he says, yeah, I'm part of kind of like
the Big three when it comes to streaming it's me

(03:54):
and these two other guys. And then that's when the
co says, Hey, well, kd who who's the big three
of the NBA right now?

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Here was his after listen, Okay, that's cool. Who's the
Who's the big three in the NBA right now? In
your eyes? Don't just say just big me?

Speaker 7 (04:09):
Is that what you're.

Speaker 8 (04:12):
I mean, if you would look at it, you could
say Lebron Steph myself.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
I mean it's I mean, the NBA is different. Bright
ain't no big threes. It's like a big thirty. So
that that straightens out.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
I mean, that's that's logical, right, You're talking about a
big three of this or that.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
And he says, who's the big three of the NBA? Okay,
that's cool. Kevin Durant.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
I agree that Lebron Steph and then to a lesser degree,
but still, Kevin Durant are the three giants of this generation.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Lebron's just playing.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
So long that he's now in the Steph generation as well,
but they would be the three giants of this generation.
So from that perspective, I give it to Kevin Durant.
But if there was a big three, if you had
the name I mean just the three best players.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
I think there is a clear Big three in.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
The NBA, and right now it would be Nikole Jokic,
Luka Doncic and Giannis Ante de Koupo. I think that
would be the Big three if there was such a thing.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Rock And this is.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
A total disregard of international players and acting like they
haven't done anything and they don't raid or whatever. It
doesn't make any sense. The Jokers won three of the
last four MVPs Chris Hell, well.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Yeah, you're right, and the three guys we named and
Luca hadn't even won one, but they've won five of the.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Last six, right. I mean, like, like the are the
one in MVPs is twenty fourteen.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
I mean like, like what really and where is again
listening to these lame podcasts? Where can somebody just push
back on Kevin Durant and say the Jokers won three
in the last four. He doesn't right, he's not in
your top three of the big three. Can we get
a little bit of that? Can you work for five

(06:13):
seconds on the podcast? Can you work for the listener
and make you feel like you're listening and you're not
just head nodding every time somebody opens their pie hole
and just spouts anything out that's ridic Chris. They don't
even flinch. We're just talking about to forget about.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Is a boxer I podcast.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Asking questions as if they're reporters and they're trying to
get information and knowledge.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
That's my point.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
If you're gonna ask questions, can you please have a
follow up? Can you please make him explain why he
believes what he believes? Can you please just throw them
a little bit and say, why are you disregarding and
disrespect and the international players who have won the last
six m vps.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Kevin Durant, Why I do agree with that? And you know,
I think these podcasts and I'm not.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Even gonna put Logan Paul, you know, the other Micah Parsons,
the you know, Draymond Green's and the Paul George's and
all those guys, the Kelsey brothers who have their podcasts.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
You know, I think they do have value rob.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
In that they get the player that typically players will
really be themselves with Kevin Garnett's certified podcast things like that,
So there that's a there's a value in that.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
But you're right, I mean, imagine how.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Much better it would have been if if they have
pushed back like, wait a minute, yo.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Kischen isn't in a big three? Uh?

Speaker 1 (07:55):
They got to the finals where they at you know, no,
it would and then explain yourself.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
And then if he says, well.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
That and the other thing, I might be intrigued to say, right, wow, okay,
is that what you think?

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Okay? So now I understand.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Why you feel the way you feel. I say this
all the time, Chris. It's people don't have to agree
with your opinion. The one thing that people want is
they want to feel like, can you make the argument?
So at least I know how you got there? Do
you know what I mean? Hey, I value this over

(08:34):
that when I look at it. Winning doesn't matter, Chris.
You talk about all the time winning the finals, MVP
isn't a big deal to you, So it doesn't affect you,
know the.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Way you look at people.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
I look at it a little different, right, But you
can both explain our dvantage point, right, what you look
for and what matters to you, and then you could
I've had people say I totally disagree with you on
your take, but I understand how you got there. You know,
you explained it to me, and I understand why you

(09:03):
think the way you do.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
I just don't agree with it. And I think that's
what you're looking for.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
That's it.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
It's not about a right or wrong opinion, Kevin Durant.
That's his opinion. But if it would just be better
for all of us, if he could just explain it
a little bit more and dig and give me insight
why he's abandoned all of the international players who was he.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Didn't even name.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
I mean, and if you listen to the you know,
we only played a little bit of it. But as
he goes on, you know, he says everybody you know,
he goes We heard him say there's a big three.
There's no big threes. It's like a big thirty. Well, no,
it's not a big thirty.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
There's not a big thirty. Right, But everybody got their
own brands.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
But the three oldest that's still playing at a high
level is me, Lebron and Steph. Then he throws in
Kawhi and Paul George. There's a lot of guys, bro,
you can't just put three in the like. He's basically
kind of nullifying. He gives an answer and then kind
of nullifies it kind of backs up from it. And
so that's where, like you said, we do on this show,

(10:12):
especially you, well, no, you gotta give us, give us
a three, Give us a three, right, And okay, that's
your three, why you know? And so I look, that's
why I agree when he said the guys that have
been playing for the longest, the three oldest guys that

(10:32):
are still at a high level. And he can be
in that group because he, Lebron anstep are all putting
up essentially the same numbers they've put up throughout their careers.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
So there's no question about that.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
But if you go if Rob, if somebody wants to
say Lebron and Steph are still a part of the
quote unquote big three of the league, you can make
an argument it for that because they're both you know,
they're still two of the biggest draws in the league.

(11:08):
They're two of the most popular players in the league.
I would not put KD in that group, in that
group with them if we're basing it on like kind
of relevance in the league.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Now, people still.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Are wondering, will will Lebron find a way to get
another one? Will Steph find a way to get another one,
they're not most likely, but people are still wondering that.
I don't know that people are wondering that about KD.
I mean you said it a while ago that he's
kind of NBA dead. He is because just not as
like those two.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
They're just they're more relevant than KD at this point.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Ye and KDD having a great which had a great
season last year.

Speaker 5 (11:53):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Well, I think it's because they were they they've won
more than him. I think that it just boils down
to that that those two have, you know, in addition
to being synonymous with, you know, their individual brilliance in
this generation.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
They've won four rings each. That's that's great.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Kd's got his two, which is great, but it's not
like those guys, and they they're winning has spanned I mean,
Lebron's won from what twenty twelve to twenty twenty, that's
eight years. Staff's won from twenty fifteen to twenty twenty two,
that's seven years.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Kd's winning was two years back to back. So I
think that's why they're more relevant than him.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
So all right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox,
You're turned the way in? Is there a Big Three
in the NBA today, the league wide Big Three?

Speaker 3 (12:55):
And who is it? And it's Kevin Durant in it
your thoughts? Next the eye Couple. Fox Radio.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Yeah, all right, It's the couple.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Christ and Rod live from the tirerag dot Com Studios
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox are turned away
in is there a Big three in today's NBA?

Speaker 3 (14:04):
And if so, who is it? Kevin Durant still in
it your thoughts.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
That's why Kevin Durant is a little with sugar.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
U here right here we go, Chris, we got people
want to pop in of course on this Frank in
North Carolina.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (14:21):
What you got, Frank, No way, Jose, There's no more
big three. Those days are long and gone. It's a
big one. You got Luca, you got ant Man, you know,
you got the young young gunners, you got Jock coming
back this year. Those days are long gone.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
Well those are big So you mean the days of
a big three on one team are long gone?

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 10 (14:45):
Correct?

Speaker 9 (14:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Yeah, I mean Philly's trying it. Phoenix has tried it
and it hasn't worked. They didn't even get a playoff
win this year. We'll see what happens for Philly.

Speaker 9 (14:56):
But yeah, it will be interesting.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Yeah, I just think their health is I mean, until
they're gonna have to show like they're in.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
I believe it when I see it mode for me, right.

Speaker 9 (15:09):
M B and MPG. Yeah, I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 8 (15:14):
I don't know, all.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
Right, no doubt. Thank you, Frank.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Appreciate to call you up. Kyle in Seattle. You're in
the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
What's up, Kyle?

Speaker 10 (15:24):
Hey, guys, have me on.

Speaker 8 (15:26):
Yeah, I'm in agreement with you, guys. I think right
now in the NBA is Yokic, Luca, and I think
durant is just sad. He's always kind of been real defensive,
and I think he's still just be in that same
way about his own game and not willing to accept

(15:49):
that he's not part of that victory anymore.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Yeah. Man, it's hard. It's hard to disagree with that.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
And Chris, it's hard to accept, you know that when
you were talented players and durant is and you know,
like what just happened with Phoenix and you remember when
he went to everybody was like, oh going to the finals.
They went, they were in the finals without.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
We were there. It was Super Bowl when that trade
went down.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
We were there, were there, Chris, and people went crazy, Michelle,
they went crazy over it.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
And he chose that. That's the thing with Durant.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
You can talk and I'll be the first to say,
I don't think they had much of a chance in
Brooklyn because they just were never healthy. You could say,
you know, obviously Bradley Beal has been injured most of
the time as well in Phoenix.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
But Durant picked both of these situations.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
These last two he picked all three Golden State, Brooklyn,
and Phoenix. But the last two he can't, you know,
he can't do anything but look in the mirror as
far as like they haven't gotten it done. And those
are places he hand picked. So it is what it is.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
It is, MJ.

Speaker 5 (16:58):
I'm in in New Wora Orleans, will be there for
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
What's up, MJ.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (17:05):
SPA, Trus Ray, Trust, the Plus Press Atlantic.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (17:11):
Uh, I think, like you said, there was no criteria.
So when you say big three, you gotta look at
big three not just from let's say winning, you gotta
look at some marketing, selling shoes American wise, just the
three that k D named. Then you have the European
guy that you guys name. But I'm not like that
for young. I think Gianni's thought last in Japan that

(17:34):
one year, uh MANI got all coached terribly, trying to
put one guy on the guy, not really even trying
to have like a wall, so to speak. But I
think there's some truth to what he's saying. And let's
not forget Yolks was being picked last on the All
Star rosters.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Well, don't you.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
I don't think Jokic being picked last the All Star
roster was like, I don't think so, I know, but
let me say this is this is why I say it.
Yo kicch isn't built for these All Star games.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Well, I mean you see it when he plays.

Speaker 9 (18:14):
He doesn't disagree, he does it.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
He does it.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
They're not real games, they're not real games, and he
never shines in the All Star games.

Speaker 9 (18:24):
Never that guy. He doesn't have an openly flashy game,
but that guy has.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
It ain't about flashy.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
It's about they're running and dunking and they're throwing up
a bunch of three.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
He doesn't play that way.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
It's a celebration of the best players, and he shouldn't
have been last pick. I mean that, I don't think
that was an insult.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
I honestly, I really don't.

Speaker 9 (18:46):
The thing is this that Duncan in three point game
is an ugly game that everybody's been talking about that Hey,
nobody really wants that game, but.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
That's how the game has been ever since. Jokic has
been making the All Star team. He never was a
when they were real competitive games.

Speaker 9 (19:03):
But he personality is a guy that just wants to
play ball, like I don't even really want to. But
I'm saying totally. He has highlights. Also, it might not
be the so called jumping out of the gym highlights.
He has highlights to be passes.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
I think his game is I actually like watching and
I do think his passing is tremendous, But I just
his game is not built built for that.

Speaker 9 (19:29):
I think he's I think he's a more exciting Tim Duncan,
so to speak.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Okay, that's fair.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Duncan was never like a guy that you know. I mean,
he wouldn't have been picked last. They would have gave
you more respect. I get that, but he never really Yeah,
WoT shot. But here's the other thing you said that
I disagree with. You said, the Big three, if you
count marketing, shoe sales, all that. I don't think KD.

(19:56):
I think Lebron and Steph would be in there. If
that's the criterier, I don't in k D. Would I
think Anthony Edwards would be ahead of him.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
At this point, Yes, man, he was.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
He's telling we were talking about lifetime achievement or we
talking about right.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Now, We're talking about now, we're talking about right now, MJ,
not lifetime achievement. Then then if you're talking about lifetime achievement,
I'm not.

Speaker 9 (20:20):
So you're saying Steph is telling shoes with those hoos.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
I'm saying Steph is still very popular.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
You said marketing, jersey sales, jersey sales, all that, not
just sneakers, that's part of it.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
But no, it would, it would, There's no way it would.

Speaker 10 (20:37):
Be k D.

Speaker 9 (20:39):
I don't think a k D. If he wasn't that dude,
why everybody always take a shot. You saw what he
did to Lebron those two straight years, which could have been.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Augibly three saying k D is not great, but that
was You're talking about stuff that happens five six years ago.
And if your logic of if KD wasn't that guy,
why are guys taking shots? I can use that same
logic with yoga. If Yoga wasn't that guy, why dude's
picking him last? Why dudes trying to embarrass him like that?

(21:12):
I mean, come on, that that ain't logic?

Speaker 3 (21:14):
All right?

Speaker 1 (21:15):
It is the Odd Couple. We got foul fair. We
we got foul or fair with our man j R.

Speaker 3 (22:47):

Speaker 5 (22:50):
No, Chris, we did not have Trust, but we did.

Speaker 6 (22:54):
Have Magic City Monday. All right, guys, it is Fowler
Fair here on the couple j R. Gamble star of
the segment. So who gets the fir crack at every
single question? Let's get right to it, Jr. The Yankees
have lost seventeen of their last twenty three games. Entering
wed Day's action, They're oh god, they're winning right now,
hopefully they can break the street.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
By hey, rob g it's still early. It's still early.
It's still early.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
But now general manager Brian Cashman he's getting involved. Not
only did he say that this swoon has quote gone
on long enough, but he's decided to join the club
on their upcoming roacher, which is never a good sign. Jr.
Foul or fair to say this is the first step
towards a major roster shakeup for the Yankees.

Speaker 8 (23:37):
Foul.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
That is a foul ball.

Speaker 10 (23:41):
I mean, I know it looks bad right now, but
the Yankees are fifty five thirty seven. It might be
fifty six to thirty seven. The lead holes three games
out of first Baltimore's I believe losing now makes them
two games out in the at least at the start
of the evening. So some of is a great team
and the Yankees hops out on every one early. The
team that was once again supposed to be built for

(24:03):
the World Series strengths to the bottom feeder once they
lose some key guys. They're two delicately constructed the Yankees
every year, and they have no depth, and that Catchman's fault.
So you have to expect injuries, especially with stamping and
build accordingly. But the Yankees rarely shake up a roster
mid season, especially not with the fifty five and thirty

(24:24):
seven records. However, they have to add another bat and
Casman has to take the blame. It's like, you know,
Dad's coming to the party with us type of thing
that's not gonna do anything you have to make better moves.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
I'm gonna say I wasn't sure if I'm gonna say foul.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
That is a foul ball.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Yeah, I agree with JR. In that I don't expect
to see a roster shake up. The one thing would
be Boone, but they've had opportunities to fire booth Right
and they haven't, so I think they're going to stick
with him at least through the season. And I also
think this too will pass, Like I expect them to

(25:06):
get it together. I know they've been the worst team
in baseball for the last what month, but I don't
think this will continue. I think they're still gonna make
the playoffs and all that. So I just think it's
a bad strays, a horrible stretch. But I don't think
there'll be a shakeup.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
Yeah, I agree. I think it's foul.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
That is a foul boy.

Speaker 5 (25:29):
And you can say whatever you want. There's two there's
two major injuries.

Speaker 4 (25:32):
Stan was having a really good year and healthy all
year and he got hurt and Grizzo got hurt. Look
at the lineup, so you got judging there by hisself.
Volpi stopped hitting.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
Has been struggling lately too, Right.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
Well, well there's nobody else.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
Finally they forget about that nothing throwing these pictures.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
You know what I mean, Chris to him, But how
do I know Rob would make an excuse for no.

Speaker 5 (25:54):
But I'm just saying, but there's injuries, you know, to
the lineup.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
So that's Chris.

Speaker 6 (26:02):
You gotta watch your tongue. Because Aaron Judge is running
mlbbro dot com.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
They got Mookie betss out.

Speaker 6 (26:10):
They got nobody right now they can tie about except
Aaron Judge.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
All right, don't.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Hurt us, don't take money out of mouth.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
I got a big feature coming up on his high school.

Speaker 6 (26:23):
That'd be like Ralph talking about the King movement. Come on,
man's rod and breathe. All right, here we go Story
number two. Ken Rosenthal, Front of the Show, wrote a
column for The Athletic on Wednesday, saying that Major League
Baseball made a big mistake by granting Pete Alonzo the
Mets only All Star selection just so he will participate
in the home run derby. Rosenthal says that Alonzo's teammates

(26:46):
Brandon Neimo and Francisco Lindor were far more deserving of
their All Star nods, which they did not get. Jr.
Foul or fair to say Major League Baseball should have
given the Mets All Star spot to Lindor instead of Alonzo.

Speaker 10 (27:03):
Foul. That is a foul ball, far more deserving. Well,
I mean, I watch the games. I checked the stats.
First of all, seed Alonzo's a big time name, and
the Mets don't have any one player. I don't think
who's a bona fide, really bonafide All Star. Nemo and Lindorf.
They've had nice seasons, but nothing that the guys chosen

(27:26):
ahead of them should feel bad about. A Lonzo be's
the team in homers, which is the most important stat
these days, and he's not by much worse than the
other guys who are both hitting low to fifties. So
Lindor won't be beating out Elie de la Cruz or CJ.
Abrams or Mookie Betts. So Nemo is a nice story,
but he's not there yet. I take Alfonzo's eighteen homers,

(27:49):
which is still a big number for his position.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
I say it's fair.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
That's a fair ball.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
They that they should have taken Lindor when they turned
it around. Lindor was in the middle of all of that.
You remember before Grimace threw out the first pitch. The
Mets season was over, and then all of a sudden, Chris,
they started winning and everything, and lind Door was a
big part of that. And it can't be attached to
You can't give a guy to All Star, not just

(28:18):
because you're gonna be in another event. That's not what
the All Star Game should be about. Who is the
best player The Mets aren't that great, probably have one
player from the team. I just think it was Lindor
more so than it was. And Lindor has sixteen home
runs and Pete A. Lonzo as eighteen. He's the big
home run hit of Chris. Lindor has sixteen.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
Right, Yeah, I'm with Rob Fair.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
It's a ball he Rob's absolutely right now. Look, I
think both I think both of them deserved it over Alonzo.
But I would go with Lindor if I had to
pick one. When you look at when the Nets turn
their or Mets turn their season around, it was Lindor
and Nemo.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
It wasn't Alonzo.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
Alonzo's been Alonzo's hitting like one sixty seven. I think
this month like so, he's struggling night time. Chris has
there been go and as Rob said, it's not like
he's ten home runs ahead of those guys.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
Rybody. And when you look at war, which we know today.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Is a huge stat in baseball, Lindor and Nemo are
like top twenty five in the league. Alonzo's not even registering.
He ain't even above one. So nah, I mean, come on, man,
you're going off this past you go.

Speaker 10 (29:41):
Nobody to put Lindor over Felling. Sorry, I mean you can.
They're not competing against themselves. There's nobody to put Lindor over.
Everyone selected is a way better player.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
But he's better.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
But you mean Alonzo doesn't need a spot on the
roster cross Lindor can just be a pinch hitteror and
nobody's saying, j rdid he has to play?

Speaker 3 (30:02):
Or what I'm saying is not their most deserving All Star? Yes, okay,
we've got time for this last one.

Speaker 6 (30:08):
Very quickly. Hank Aaron was selected as an MMB All
Star twenty one of his twenty three seeds. Will he
may Stam Musual next up with twenty But we haven't
seen anyone with more than twelve selections since Mariano Rivere
retired in twenty thirteen. Jr. Quickly foul or fair to
say that we will not n ot see another player
with at least thirteen career All Star nods in our lifetime.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
Fout that is a foul ball.

Speaker 10 (30:36):
I mean we will. They just have to be that
good for that long and nobody really is anymore has
been yet. I mean, you know, since Rivera on the
level of the same excellence that guys like Mays and
Musial and Revera exhibit is in the one percent of
all time greatness. The one percent, so note to nine

(30:57):
percent of major players won't be able to do that. No,
but being a great player, you know, that's not being
an immortal one. They'll give it. Some days we'll have
another ten fifteen time All Stars. But with one ninety
batting average being acceptable these days, who knows.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
I'm gonna say foul, that is a fouler.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
But I'm I'm just saying that out of hope, you know,
because I think the problem, you know, it's a shame
if you can't have a thirteen times we're not even
asking him to be a twenty time All Star like
those guys. We're asking thirteen years thirteen. And the problem, though,
is that guys can't stay healthy. That's really, to me

(31:41):
is the biggest issue. It's not that I mean you,
Mookie Betson.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
That's why it's fright. These guys are a good point
you're making. That's why it's fair.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
That's ball because guys can't stay healthy. Mike Trout could
easily have gone to twenty All Star. He can't stay healthy.
Mookie betts Is heard all these guys, these guys get
hurt and and and that's the judge of Chris, all
these guys. It's a different era. WILLI mazing them not
to make twenty They didn't get hurt. They played every year,

(32:14):
and they played one hundred and fifty five out one
hundred and sixty two games.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Think about it. It's unbelievable, all right, it is.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
That's valor fair, all right, but they are, Thank you, brother,
thank you more.

Speaker 3 (32:28):
All right. It's the Eye Couple, Chris and Rob. Keep
it lock Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Post it right after we get off the air.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
All right, Rob, was there an article written let me
find it about Briannie Rob g and the people were
complaining about the way the NBA is marketing him.

Speaker 6 (33:32):
Yeah, Chris, I know you don't miss the Odd Couple
when you're off, but we did it yesterday. Awful announcing
who full disclosure has taken some shots at the Eye Couple,
but because sometimes they do good work, we got to
make sure we give them credit when it's due.

Speaker 5 (33:44):
So wait a minute, we get we get shots taking
that out.

Speaker 6 (33:46):
I didn't know they were taking I mean, they'll take
shots at anybody. So with some of your guys' opinions
are not always landing flush. Chris is a half bake sometimes.
So they wrote a column this week or in between
Game one and tonight's game for Bronnie James. Discuss what
he doing tonight. It's funny you should ask. He finished

(34:09):
with three points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals, three blocks.

Speaker 5 (34:14):
What's his shooting?

Speaker 3 (34:15):
Only one for three?

Speaker 5 (34:18):
Okay, so you know he's afraid to shooting.

Speaker 6 (34:21):
Philip the box score, but you know, let to see
a little shot shooting. But offul Announcing wrote a column
on Sunday basically condemning ESPN's coverage of Bronnie James, and
they even compared it to Tim Tebow. Their explanation was,
when Tim Tebow was trying out for baseball, he was
getting this outsized media coverage relative to what his actual

(34:42):
talent level was, and they believe the same thing is
happening right now with Bronnie James.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
Well, look, it's a story.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
It's an interesting story, and I think it's a fair comparison.
You know, Briannie, we know hasn't done anything to warrant
like humongous coverage.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
You know, he was drafted fifty fifth.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
That's a fair place for him to be drafted at best, right,
So you know I get that. But a story, Rob,
we talk about it all the time. Stories are what
draw a lot of viewers. All right, Caitlyn Clark, I
mean she's actually balling now and so is Angel Reese.

(35:31):
But why initially at least were people tuning in to
Caitlyn Clark. It's a story, Angel Reaves a story, and
so I get that, And they were right. They wrote
like this could turn off some hardcore fans that just
wanted about the sport, and I get that, but this
is Summer League. You use stories to draw people, especially

(35:55):
the Summer League.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
You really want to break down.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
The x'es and o's of Colin Castleton, the starting center
for the Lakers in Summer League? Huh huh? I mean
he had eighteen points to night and eleven boys. Y'all
really want to break down Colin Castleton? How about Blake Henson?
Should we really get into that. These dudes probably never
sniff the NBA, So it is what it is. So

(36:25):
I got no issue with it with the what the
NBA is doing they trying to draw eyeballs?

Speaker 4 (36:30):
Yeah, I think that there is a thing that you
could turn people off if it's forced, when people feel
like you're forcing the issue. And Chris, I get your
take on not breaking down the other guys. But if
you're leading with Bronni in three points every night, it
starts to feel like it's just forced, like like this,
you're just trying to force this down our throats. And

(36:52):
that's where fans or people get tired of it and
go like, oh, I just can't do this. Okay, well
you just ridict because it's a story. But not if
he's scoring three points every night.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
You know what was interesting? And I will give Brownie
this right now. He looks like a really good role player,
like in Summer League. In Summer League, I get it,
it's not the NBA, but you heard his numbers. He
does really stack up the box score to some degree.
I mean across the board. He's not putting up huge
numbers in any of them. But but rob G, was

(37:25):
there something you watched the game, there was nobody in
the crowd.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
No, no, that was there something going.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
On where they didn't let fans. I mean it looked
like the freaking lockdown.

Speaker 6 (37:39):
There were people who were bovering the game who said
that they could not understand exactly why, and hopefully they
were trying to get aswers after the game.

Speaker 3 (37:46):
But nothing. It wasn't nobody rob it was empty. Wow,
like empty.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
So Brownie certainly wasn't drawing fans tonight. All right, we
out the eye couple.

Speaker 5 (38:00):
