before were supposed to me. She hits me up and

the job. It was volunteer that she decided to do

see her.

No, I was gonna be there. I was gonna be there.
But but you know, this is our chance. We live
in two different states, cross country, so here's a chance
to meet in person. The long story short is she

Was doing, and she was like, I just don't think
I'm gonna be able to get up in the morning
to make breakfast?

why he was picked, because it's still an honor even

Derek White. I do understand why they picked Derek White.

We know he's a great defender, he wants to defend.
He can hit the three point shot. Now, he was
a better three point shooter this year than Jalen. But
their career averages are the same from three point lands.

and I don't think this was a factor. But Jalen
is a very outspoken guy. Jalen is a very thoughtful,
deep thinker. Is it possible that they wonder on the
on this world stage, would he bring up something political

the case, But knowing that he is a type of
guy that you know is very conscientious and all that,
I don't know.

a snub. That's not only the snub off of the

All NBA Defensive team. And so that's three times he
would have go snubbed this year, and it would have
to be the first time in the history of the

game where somebody was Eastern Conference MVP, which they didn't
have back in the day, but and Finals MVP and
you don't get an invite, you don't get a phone
call to go to. That would be to me that

God forbid anything happens to him during next season, he
will be the number of number one pick. If I mean,
he's a future star. I think he has the ability
to be a future star if he continues to extent,
if he continues to work on his game, because where
he's at right now, seventeen, what he can do right

now at that age, with that and that size. Even
the clips you've seen, I don't know if you've seen
the one clip we know where he caught the ball
and Drew Holliday on the block and he faked baseline.
He faked baseline over the right shoulder, look back over
the left shoulder, that's where Drew was at. Then he
went right to the fade away. Like that's to me,

that's a game awareness that a lot of players at seventeen,
wouldn't even recognize like, oh, oh, I got him base on.
I'm gonna give him a little bit to the left,
make him hop over there. But then I'm gonna create
more space for myself to go over the right shoulder,
fade away right. So I see that, I see like
small little things. And then also it's just a mentality.
One thing about Cooper Flag that I've seen throughout these years,

and I'll tell you this, Brian Scalabrini is the first
person to put me on him. He said, his kid
Cooper Flag. He said, I work out with the kid
Cooper Flags. He was a few years back. He's like, man,
he's one of them ones. I'm like, okay, well let
me see. I started watching and I could see he
was not afraid of no moments. He's not year of
the moment. He was. He wasn't a guy that was

you know, it can get intimidated by whatever atmosphere or
whatever Jimmy's in. He come into work, he gonna put
in that work and actually let you know that he
put in that work. And so I've seen that. I
was like, oh, he's a little different out here. You know.
He talked that talk and he walked, and he back
it up with his game.

Yeah, I mean, like you said, I mean to It's
not even that he just got out there with NBA players.
He got out there with the best pretty probably a
team full of Hall of famers, and he, you know,
was able to not be intimidated. So I'm with you

in his summer league debut. I get it in summer league,
but now he's all of a sudden the leader of
the pack.

you know, I would say that he could be an
impact player being a rent protector and being a rebounder.
He can impact the game that way. Now, when you
start talking about his offensive game and how does that developed,
we'll see and how does that evolve? We still got
to see. We know we have not seen him stretch
out and be a three point knockdown shooter to stretch

the floor like most of the fives are. Now, we
haven't really seen him have to guard guys. If he
had to switch out on him and get caught on
that island and it's a three a wing guy that
six ' eight that can handle the ball and go
to work. What could he do with a Jason Tatum
if he has to switch to him or Jalen Brown?
Is he going to be able to keep them in
front of them? Or even if they run a pick
and roll and not being a drop coverage, is he

going to be able to keep them in front until
the defender gets back. That remains to be seen. But
I think he can impact the game rebounding and uh
blocking shots, being a rim protector more so, a help
run protector more so than on the ball renprotector.

he's a future star. I think he has the ability
to be a future star if he continues to extent,

now at that age, with that and that size. Even
the clips you've seen, I don't know if you've seen
the one clip we know where he caught the ball
and Drew Holliday on the block and he faked baseline.

out and be a three point knockdown shooter to stretch

the floor like most of the fives are. Now, we
haven't really seen him have to guard guys. If he
had to switch out on him and get caught on
that island and it's a three a wing guy that
six ' eight that can handle the ball and go
to work. What could he do with a Jason Tatum
if he has to switch to him or Jalen Brown?
Is he going to be able to keep them in
front of them? Or even if they run a pick
and roll and not being a drop coverage, is he

going to be able to keep them in front until
the defender gets back. That remains to be seen. But
I think he can impact the game rebounding and uh
blocking shots, being a rim protector more so, a help
run protector more so than on the ball renprotector.

and a half and then I'm gonna finish it up
with the San Francisco Giants by the Bay minus one

All right, Rob, Well, you can believe Dion Sanders is
betting that his Colorado team is going to be very
good this year. And he talked about it with a
reporter recently. Of course, media day was this week for
all these coaches, and here's what he said.

perform at a higher level or coach at higher level?

Yeah, like I guess yes, I'm judged on a different scale.
My wins are totally different than your wins. Your wins
you just judging football. That's why I have to start

we are GPA suffers. Our GPA can't be high, but

grab high school players. And you got a bunch of

graduating or something like that, maybe or got kids getting
in trouble. We've seen great teams, you know, Miami, all.

The stuff at Michigan State and all the players and
problems right with the coaches up there.

Chris Irvin Meyer had his issues at Florida or had
coaches at ohiose that.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
Yeah, you remember Aaron Hernandez was on the do not
draft list because of all the stuff that went on
at college right on that one out under his watch,
and that was that one was they should have listened.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
Obviously, speaking with this, he ended up getting into it.
But I just think.

I think Dion, look, he is under a microscope, partially
because he's Dion Sanders, and he is one of the
greatest players and one of the greatest athletes we've ever seen,
but also rob because he's flamboyant, he's flashy, he talks
a lot, he talks trash. He's gotten into it with

players on Twitter, he's gotten into it with other coaches.
He's got celebrities and rappers on the sidelines of their game.

Like, it's not just.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
I don't know if he's saying this because he's black
or because he's d or whatever.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
It's a lot of things. He brings that, but he's up.
He's up the right exactly. Mean, let's let's not you
can't have it both ways. You up the Yanny when
you got stephen A and Shannon Sharp walking the sidelines
and Lil Wayne and all that kind of stuff, doing
a concert before the game, I mean absolutely, and that's nothing.

If that's what you want to do, I'm not mad
at you, But then you can't use that and say, oh,
people have different standards for us. Just like after they
won the first game, you remember he undressed up who
is his name, Ed Werner? You remember that christ ye? Yeah? After,
But he wasn't undressing anybody after week four though, I
don't remember any of that. I'm just saying, like, but.

You're right, you're right on the money.

I mean, he he does bring a lot of this
on himself, and so he can't be mad because if
he was as great as he is as a player,
or was as a player, and who you could think
of a Barry Sanders, Robert you know what I mean,
somebody who's more less outspoken and more conservative in that
regard or whatever.

I don't think he wouldn't be under the same microscope.

And it's fine, but you got to understand that that
brings the extra eyeballs and scrutiny.
